British rock band Bring Me the Horizon (BMTH) commanded Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on Sunday evening, January 14, 2024. The foursome are currently on their sold-out UK & Ireland NX_GN WRLD TOUR with special guests Bad Omens, Cassyette, and Static Dress; after a monumental 2023 with a plethora of sold-out shows, an Asia tour, and Fall Out Boy’s US summer stadium tour.
Bring Me the Horizon are vocalist Oli Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, and drummer Mat Nicholls (after the recent departure of keyboardist Jordan Fish). The band’s set was a mix of tracks from their massive discography, playing older songs and new releases. Circle pits began immediately as BMTH started strong with recent single “DArkSide,” one of the many tracks rumored to be on their highly anticipated album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn releasing later this year. Their set continued with “Empire (Let Them Sing),” “Shadow Moses,” and “Can You Feel My Heart,” from 2013’s Sempiternal before bringing out Bad Omen’s vocalist Noah Sebastian to perform “Antivist” from the album. The band also played tracks from the first album of their POST HUMAN series with “Teardrops,” “Obey,” “Kingslayer,” and “Parasite Eve.” True fans from the bands early days recognized “Diamonds Aren’t Forever,” after being treated to an acoustic version of “sTraNgeRs” – also a track rumored to be on the next POST HUMAN album.

The bands 2-hour 19-song setlist finished strong with their latest release “Kool-Aid” as well as “DiE4u,” “LosT,” and “AmEN!” before concluding their energetic set with “Doomed” and “Throne” from 2015’s That’s The Spirit . The band continues their sold-out UK & Ireland tour before bringing it to Australia & Europe later this year. See remaining UK tour dates below:
January 19th – Sheffield, FlyDSA Arena January 20th – London, O2 Arena January 21st – London, O2 Arena

Bring Me the Horizon @ OVO Hydro, Glasgow, 14 Jan
Sheffield's finest metallers are at the peak of their powers at a packed-out post-human performance in glasgow.
In a scene of bands stuck in the same gear, Sheffield’s Bring Me the Horizon have long been unafraid to delve into seemingly scary new sounds. In their two decades together, Oli Sykes and his merry band of misfits have made a significant jump from being a shouty metalcore outfit to becoming a shouty metalcore outfit that pushes all sorts of boundaries, changing perceptions of what’s possible in heavy music.
So much so, that a headline arena tour across the UK is no longer a surprise – alas, it’s the most fitting stage for one of rock’s biggest bands. Despite a challenging end to 2023 – with news of long-standing bandmate and lynchpin, Jordan Fish, departing the band, and the announcement of another delay to the release of their new album, POST HUMAN: NeX GEn – they’re fired up to kick off the year as they mean to go on.
For starters, they’ve brought along arguably the heavy music lineup of the year (and we’re only 14 days into January!), with three of the best up-and-comers in the scene in Static Dress , Cassyette and recently appointed alt-internet sensations, Bad Omens . This is a bill to make any metal lover’s mouth water – and with the energy and verve each band brings to their respective sets, the crowd is quickly stoked from lukewarm to piping hot by the time Bring Me emerge.
A 90s video game loading screen appears on-screen ready to launch us into the ‘Bring Me the Horizon Experience' – after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to finally press start on their controller, that is. “Let’s tear this place a new arsehole!”, Sykes so delicately beckons, orchestrating the cacophony of screaming souls below him to split the room in half as they race through a vicious front three of DArkSide, Empire (Let Them Sing), and MANTRA. The newer POST HUMAN- era songs like AmEN! and Teardrops are razor-sharp alongside the more established (and far less frequent) arena anthems like Shadow Moses. Typically, nostalgia is the currency of fans in the alternative scene, but you couldn’t hear a complaint about new tracks over the noise tonight.
As the disturbingly baby-faced CGI monster Angel Dust wrecks the church-like stage BMTH stand upon for Kool-Aid, you can’t help but be taken aback by the sheer scale of the show at hand. The visuals, the storyboarding, and Christ!, the performance, are all so spectacularly crafted – it feels like a set that's been years in the making.
Kingslayer is a raucous riot and an undoubted highlight of the night, while the acoustic performance of sTraNgeRs is a curveball that peels back the band’s skin to reveal the hidden beauty they so rarely bare. Despite a couple of momentum-halting pauses to safely recover a few hurt members of the crowd, cult classic Antivist sees Bad Omens vocal behemoth Noah Sebastian join Sykes for a voice box-shredding performance that could quite possibly break emo Twitter. Elsewhere, Drown sees Sykes plunge into the crowd with camera in hand to capture the completion of a few front-row fans' dreams – queue tears, smiles, signs and, of course, screams.
As a touching montage of the band’s last 20 years of misadventures plays through the pre-encore, you’re reminded just how far these screamy upstarts have come to be such champions of the scene they now rule over. Finally, the emphatic colossus of Throne brings the night to a close, with confetti bursts, flame cannons, and monumental moshpits smashing the place to pieces one last time. Make no mistake, this is a band who are absolutely at the peak of the powers.

EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: The Clamor Is Back & Better Than Ever!
Chappell Roan Wants Her ‘Red Wine Supernova’
Bring Me The Horizon are one of our favorite things about the UK and their show at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro was a blast. In one of the biggest parties we’ve had in a long time, this visual and sonic experience was like nothing else we’ve seen!
Nova Twins took the stage first in a class demonstration of stagecraft. The South London duo (Amy & Georgia) have been steadily winning over hearts with their eclectic mix of abrasive grime-punk style and we’re head over heels in love with their music too! We’re yet to meet a more bouncy band in the rock scene which made their set the greatest way to start a night of moshing and headbanging.
You Me At Six
Next up were every emo’s favorite feel-good band; You Me At Six. The nostalgia this band creates at all their shows is a sight to behold and frontman Josh Franceschi has us right up in our feels.
If we spent a bit of time being nicer to strangers then maybe just maybe we could take on the world Josh Franceschi, introducing ‘Take On The World’
Bring Me The Horizon
Then, in almost no time at all, the lights drop for a final time. Cannons blast and punchy guitar echoes through the arena. Bounding onto the stage in quick succession is Bring Me The Horizon’s charismatic Oli Sykes. You wouldn’t expect there to be such joy at such a heavy show but the grin plastered across Sykes’ face had us beaming right back at him!
The set seamlessly transitions to the familiar drums from Mat Nicholls that signal the beginnings of hit single ‘MANTRA.’ First debuted at a surprise set in 2019 at Reading Festival, ‘MANTRA’ is a track that fully encapsulates this post-Sempiternal band. Striking a balance between their deathcore metal roots and a new lighter sound is a near-constant battle for the Sheffield five-piece. But it’s a balance well-trod, as the staging transitions into a LED cage for fan-favorite ‘The House of Wolves.’
By this point, we’re waist-deep in mosh pits, crowd surfers, and beer but the atmosphere is electric. The tunes keep coming with ‘Medicine,’ ‘Happy Song,’ and ‘Ludens’ before the night takes a theatrical turn in a quintessentially BMTH way. Not only are they one of the UK’s biggest bands right now, but they’re also one of the most sonically and physically experimental. The result? A feast for all senses including voiceovers re-enforcing the post-apocalyptic world it feels like inside The SSE Hydro.
Dear Diary, these specimens are like nothing I have ever seen before…A large hoard have broken into the arena…Myself and my team are going to attempt communication once more with these wretched creatures, it’s time to see exactly what they’re made of. Oli Sykes (BMTH), ‘Dear Diary’ interlude
We respond in the way we know best; more mosh pits, more jumping, and more debauchery. The ruckus continues through ‘Dear Diary’ and through the timely track ‘Parasite Eve.’ In what’s been a full-on set, no one (not even the band) shows signs of slowing down. ‘Shadow Moses’ and ‘wonderful life’ carry the show’s vibe further and before we know it Nova Twins reappear in a glorious rendition of ‘1×1.’
Sykes introduces their latest single ‘DiE4u’ which has us right up in our emotions feeling closer than ever to a band we’ve loved for years.
You know I never used to get it when some of yous said we saved your life but I get it now. Broken people fix broken people and you’ve saved us so many times. See Also Music Good Neighbours’ Music Inspires Us To ‘Keep It Up’ Oli Sykes (BMTH)
It’s a sentiment that, for us, encapsulated the entire evening. The past year and a half has been a long struggle. Which made the post-apocalyptic ball a night we won’t be forgetting for a long time. Bring Me The Horizon are a band who, at their core, make great music and put on great shows. We’re just lucky we get to watch the madness unfold before our own ears and eyes!

Bring Me the Horizon
When: 14th January 2024 Location : OVO Hydro
Bring Me the Horizon are one of the most experimental heavy bands in the UK. Coming to Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 14th January 2024.
BRIT and Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling quintet Bring Me The Horizon is one of the most electrifying and successful rock bands to emerge from the UK. The group kicked off their POST HUMAN era in 2020. With the release of the first of four EPs aptly titled POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR . The critically acclaimed release, which features hit singles ‘Parasite Eve,’. As well as ‘Obey’ (with Yungblud), ‘Teardrops,’ and ‘Ludens,’ debuted at No.1 on the UK charts. He praised by NME for being “rooted in raw relevance for today and the cyber-punk energy of tomorrow.” In 2021, the band shared their hit single ‘DiE4u,’ the most recent addition to the POST HUMAN collection. To support the release, the group embarked on a sold-out UK arena tour in September 2021. Before headling Reading & Leeds Festival in August 2022.
Bring Me The Horizon took the stage at the 2022 BRIT Awards. Where they joined Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran for an electrifying performance of ‘Bad Habits,’. Which was followed by the release of the official studio version on February 18. Previously, Bring Me The Horizon released their Gold-certified sixth studio album, amo , in 2019. Which debuted at No.1 in 17 markets and was named “one of the most anticipated albums of 2019” by Billboard. NME describing it as “bold, brilliant and boundary-pushing.” amo garnered the band their second Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album after the LP’s first single, ‘MANTRA,’ earned them a nod for ‘Best Rock Song’ in 2018.
BRIT Award Nomination
The Sheffield 5-piece also received their first BRIT Award nomination for ‘Best Group’ in 2020 on the heels of amo ’s release. Bring Me The Horizon has sold over 4 million albums globally to date, played sold-out shows in over 40 countries, including two sold out nights at London’s O2 and one night at The Forum in Los Angeles, wowed a traditionally non-rock crowd at Glastonbury Festival in 2016 and 2018, and stole the show at high profile festivals across Europe all summer 2019. They have now also amassed over 1 billion video views on YouTube. Bring Me The Horizon are vocalist Oli Sykes, guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Mat Nicholls, and keyboardist Jordan Fish.

Bring Me The Horizon Announce 2021 Arena Tour
Bring Me The Horizon's Post Human Tour is happening in September next year.
Fresh from the announcement of their collab-filled nine-track Post Human: Survival Horror EP , Bring Me The Horizon have just unveiled five huge UK tour dates for 2021.
Oli Sykes and co. will be hitting arenas in Glasgow, Cardiff, Sheffield, Birmingham and London on the Post Human Tour next September, with EP pre-orders granting fans early access to tickets. And it's worth doing, too, because these are reportedly the band's "only UK dates of 2021"…

Speaking to Kerrang! back in June about the sound of Horizon's next musical steps, frontman Oli teased that “this record’s going to have a very dystopian, cyberpunky, metal feel to it”.
“Whereas I appreciate records like [2019 album] amo as a collage and all over the place, I also appreciate that sometimes when you want to listen to music it’s because you’re in a certain mood,” he said. “Sometimes you just want to keep that mood going – whether you’re angry, happy, sad, whatever – and that’s one thing Bring Me The Horizon haven’t done for a long time, really. Since [2008 album] Suicide Season our records have been quite all over the place, so I thought it’d be interesting to do a more traditional thing where they are tonally very connected so when you put it on it’s not going up and down and all over the place. It still will to a degree because it’s us, but at the same time, there’s almost a brief and a vibe to each record.”
Catch Bring Me The Horizon at the following live dates:
September 2021
21 Glasgow The SSE Hydro 22 Cardiff Motorpoint Arena 24 Sheffield FlyDSA Arena 25 Birmingham Utilita Arena 26 London The O2 Arena
