zMAX joins CARS Tour as entitlement sponsor, 2024 schedule unveiled, FloRacing continues as official streaming partner

floracing cars tour

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Nov. 27, 2023) – Things just keep getting bigger and better for the CARS Tour Late Model Series as it embarks on its 10th season of competition as the Southeast’s premier asphalt late model series. Today the CARS Tour ownership group, comprised of motorsports icons Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Justin Marks, announced the addition of zMAX® as the series’ new entitlement sponsor for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond. The group also rolled out the 2024 zMAX CARS Tour schedule and confirmed the renewal of FloRacing as its official streaming partner for all 19 events. “This year we committed ourselves to helping grow an already-established CARS Tour, and regional asphalt racing as a whole,” said Harvick. “Having the opportunity to bring on a respected brand and partner like zMAX does so much for the health and professionalism of the zMAX CARS Tour.” Produced in Harrisburg, N.C., zMAX Micro-lubricant® is used in thousands of automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, outdoor equipment, airplanes and firearms to reduce carbon buildup, lubricate vital parts and extend engine life. Used by professionals and every-day car-lovers alike, the zMAX family of products has a prominent presence in a number of motorsports, including NASCAR, NHRA and USAC. zMAX is manufactured by Oil-Chem Research Corporation, a division of motorsports entertainment company Speedway Motorsports. “A zMAX partnership with the CARS Tour is a grassroots commitment to building future competitors and fans in motorsports,” said Marcus Smith, president and CEO of Speedway Motorsports. “I’d like to thank Dale, Kevin, Jeff and Justin for this opportunity. We look forward to marketing zMAX from the garage to the grandstands and we’re thrilled to see the CARS Tour returning to North Wilkesboro Speedway in 2024.” For the second consecutive season, all 19 of the zMAX CARS Tour events will be livestreamed on FloRacing. The video streaming service, which became the official streaming partner of zMAX CARS Tour earlier thisyear, is a subscription-based company dedicated to growing grassroots motorsports. “We feel that CARS has truly become the premier short track asphalt tour in America, and we could not be happier to have the series back on FloRacing,” said General Manager of FloRacing, Michael Rigsby. “Dale and the entire team with CARS are committed to growing short track pavement racing, and that’s truly evident by all they’ve done over the last year. 2024 is going to be a big, big year for CARS, and we are beyond thrilled to highlight that.” In addition, the newly-minted zMAX CARS Tour released its 2024 season schedule, which kicks off at Southern National Motorsports Park (Kenly, N.C.) on Saturday, March 2, with Pro Late Models, the first of its two divisions. The Late Model Stock Car division will begin its season at the same track one week later, on March 9. “There is a lot to unpack and a lot to be excited about this season – two trips to North Wilkesboro and adding Orange County to the schedule,” said Earnhardt Jr. “It’s going to be tough competition for the drivers and a great show for our fans in the stands, and for those watching on FloRacing. Our partnership with FloRacing has helped tremendously in building exposure and excitement around the zMAX CARS Tour. I’m looking forward to continuing that.” Highlighting the series schedule are back-to-back PLM and LMSC races at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 14 – 15. The zMAX CARS Tour will return to the .625-mile short track on Oct. 19 for the season finale, where it will crown both its series champions.

Snowball Derby

Super late model stars welcome floracing to snowball derby.

FloRacing has acquired the broadcast rights to the Snowball Derby in December and also increased the purse to $50,000-to-win.

For reference, Ty Majeski banked a record $35,000 in winning his second Tom Dawson Trophy in December and most of this century, the race paid $20,000-to-$25,000 when factoring the purse and contingency bonuses.

The announcement is a big win for the racers if nothing else and many of the top names in Super Late Model racing expressed enthusiasm about it on Thursday at Five Flags Speedway during a practice day in advance of the ASA Southern Super Series race on Friday.

Bubba Pollard has long been a major advocate of the Snowball Derby warranting a purse increase and finally gets his wish.

“Yeah, but I can’t win it,” he joked, a reflection of his two-decade winless streak in the biggest race of the year.

It feels inevitable that he will someday and now it’s going to pay more when he does.

“I think it’s going to help for a lot of different reasons,” Pollard told Short Track Scene. “Five Flags is going to be able to showcase better what the Snowball Derby is all about to a new audience. FloRacing has done a lot for dirt Sprint Cars and Late Models, dirt racing in general, and now they’re going to open us up to those people.

“I think it’s going to help us on sponsorship too.”

While Pollard has advocated for a bigger purse, he doesn’t however, think it should all go towards the winner.

“I’d like to see more spread through the field, start money because all these guys that race all spend a lot of money to come down here and race that week.”

Derek Thorn won the Snowball Derby in 2022 and is also enthusiastic about the news on Thursday.

“The Snowball Derby is like our Daytona 500,” said the two-time ARCA West and six-time Southwest Tour champion. “We want to show why this is a big deal for all of us. I hope they can showcase it and show the world why this is a big deal to us too.”

Like Pollard, who also owns a dirt track in Georgia, Thorn recognizes that FloRacing’s audience is primarily dirt fans but he sees that as an opportunity to grow pavement Late Model racing.

“I want to show them the Derby, that it has like a vibe to it, right,” Thorn said. “It’s the closest thing we have to some of those big dirt shows. Maybe asphalt racing can be a bit of a snooze-fest to those fans but these drivers on this stage is as good as any racing anywhere.”

Matt Craig is a second-generation racer whose family has come to the Snowball Derby his whole life and he loves the purse increase if nothing else.

“That’s great,” Craig said. “The more they can bump up the payout, the more the racers can enjoy and th better the racing will be, more cars too.”

Dustin Smith, an annual entrant in the Snowball Derby, who is from the nearby Mobile, Alabama area loved the news because he’s a dirt racing enthusiast and FloRacing subscriber.

“I’m sure that’s going to bring a few more racers down,” Smith said. “The purse increases help. It’s good to see them come in and put money into the racing. I watch the CARS Tour and the Sprint Cars every weekend. I think it’s going to bring in more fans and more exposure to what we do.”

And those sentiments were echoed by ASA points leader Cole Butcher too.

“Flo does a great job and I think they will be a great addition to Five Flags Speedway and the Snowball Derby,” Butcher said. “They have great people and great coverage. The purse increase is just a bonus. We all work very hard here and yeah, 50 grand is a lot.”

Several Speed51 veterans, who had the broadcast rights before the company transitioned to the Racing America branding, are now at FloRacing. That includes editorial director Brandon Paul and content creator Rob Blount.

Matthew Dillner is a Speed51 veteran and brother of company founder Bob Dillner, who appears on FloRacing and the play-by-play voice of the SMART Modified Tour.

So the coverage should have a very familiar look and sound to what race fans expect as well.

Paylor Motorsports and Carson Ferguson Set to Follow Lucas Oil & Castrol Tours in 2024

(BURLINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA) Paylor Motorsports owners Donald and Gena Bradsher are excited to officially announce today that driver Carson Ferguson will follow both the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series in 2024! Still in the Winner’s Circle Program with the Lucas Oil Series due to their perfect attendance early in the year with Tim McCreadie, the Burlington, North Carolina-based team will keep Carson on the national tour to vie for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year Award. The driver that accumulates the most rookie points throughout the season will receive $20,000 cash plus additional product certificates at the year-end awards banquet.

The Lucas Oil tour heats back up this coming weekend in a huge tripleheader in the states of Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania from April 26-28. The Mid-Atlantic triple shot kicks off on Friday at Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, Delaware, as the ‘Melvin L. Joseph Memorial’ shells out at $19,049 top prize. The annual ‘Conococheague 50’ will then be up next on Saturday at the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland where a $15,000 winner’s check will be on the line. A trip to the sprawling Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania will then wrap up the busy weekend, as a $10,000 payday will be up for grabs at the track deemed as the “Speed Palace.”

Each Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event this weekend and throughout the season will be broadcast LIVE to subscribers of FloRacing. The same goes for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America Series, which Carson and the #93 team also plan to follow full-time. The ten-race miniseries starts on May 8 at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois and concludes on November 15-16 at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. You can view the entire tentative schedule for Paylor Motorsports on their newly-revamped website at www.PaylorMotorsports.com .

“Both Gena and I are thrilled to have our team remain a fixture on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this year and for many more to come,” quoted team owner Donald Bradsher, who fielded the Championship winning car on the tour in both 2021 and 2022. “While Carson may be behind the eight-ball in points this year since he didn’t run Speedweeks, he is still eligible for Rookie of the Year and the experience he gains this year will be invaluable heading into next season. We’re excited for this new venture with him and can’t wait to see how he performs on all these new tracks.”

Just as excited is their twenty-four-year old driver, who recently picked up a victory at All-Tech (FL) Raceway with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series. “I really can’t thank Donald and Gena (Bradsher) enough for everything they have done and continue to do for me. To be able to say ‘I am going Lucas racing’ as a full-time driver has been a dream of mine for a very long time and it’s a very surreal moment for my family, friends, and myself.”

“It’s not the traditional season that most have - due to not running the first handful of counted races, but we will give everything we have to contend for the Rookie of the Year title,” Ferguson went on to say. “No matter the outcome, this is already a dream season of mine and I can’t wait to keep gaining experience for the future. Looking back at my years of racing, I can’t help but think of each and every person that believed in me to get me to this point. Blessed is truly an understatement!”

The Paylor Motorsports team would like to thank all of their valued partners - including long-time supporters and those that just recently came on board. Marketing partners that adorn the #93 include: Hoopaugh Grading Company, Franklin Enterprises, WP Racing Shocks, Coltman Farms Racing, Mega Plumbing & HVAC, John Page Racing, ArmsList.com, Baker Mitchell Plumbing Company, Brad Benton Trucking, Pro Fabrication, Tribble Electric, Swift Springs, Wiles Driveshafts, Winters Performance, Night Owl National Contractors, Indocil Art, Midwest Sheet Metal, Wilwood Engineering, Longhorn Chassis by Wesley Page, Sunoco Race Fuels, Little Pink Houses of Hope, Mark 4 Racing, Live Oak Family Dentistry, K1 Race Gear, Hooker Harness, Behrents Performance Warehouse, Bell Helmets, Howe Racing Enterprises, ASI Racewear, Buzze Racing, Lucas Oil Products, MatMan Designs, Allstar Performance, Performance Bodies, DRP Racing Products, QuickCar Racing Products, FK Rod Ends, Earnhardt Technologies Group, MPI, Carolina Roofing and Gutters, KRC Power Steering, Bilstein Shocks, Collins Signs, Sweet MFG., Hoosier Tire South, Walker Performance Filtration, and Fluid Logic.

Charlie keeven anticipates competitive season on jegs/cra all-stars tour in 2024, share this article.

floracing cars tour

As the season opener for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance quickly approaches, Hazelwood, MO driver, Charlie Keeven is locked in and ready to compete on the highly anticipated Tour. A former racer in the CRA Jr. Late Model Series, and with one full season of JEGS Tour competition under his belt, the 17-year-old says his team chemistry is better than ever, and they believe they now have what it takes to run up front in these marquee events.

Located in the heart of dirt late model country, Keeven is forced to travel with his Template Late Model Program. After his stint in the CRA Jr. Late Models in 2019, which included a win at Corrigan Oil Speedway, Keeven set out for his first round with the JEGS Tour in 2020. Naturally, the delay in starting put everyone’s programs on the back burner that season. During eight JEGS Tour events in 2020, Keeven posted three top-10s and two top-five finishes, his best coming at Bristol Motor Speedway where he finished second to Josh Brock after leading 17 laps. Since that season, Keeven has bounced around the country trying to find a team that fits perfectly.

“Two years ago we were just trying to build a team,” Keeven explained. “I think this year we should be able to put the things together to at least have a shot,” he said when asked about their performance.

Part of Keeven’s travel included racing in North and South Carolina in multiple different disciplines including with the CARS Tour. A total of 10 starts in 2022 and 2023 produced seven top-10s and a top-five finish. The No.55 also returned to the Vore’s Welding CRA Late Model Sportsman in those two seasons with a total of four starts, all of which resulted in top 10s, with three top fives, all coming at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana. Coming north in 2024 to race with the JEGS Tour is an easy decision according to Keeven.

“Increased payouts, it’s definitely building on itself,” he said when asked why he’s returning to the JEGS Tour this season. “I feel like the competition is gonna be the harshest it’s been in a while – especially with the Owosso races paying $15k and $10k to win. I think CRA just gives us options and you’ve got guys like Chase Burda who are running this thing and we’re just trying to see if we can have the same pace,” he explained.

After a couple of seasons of research and development, Keeven is looking at the 2024 JEGS Tour schedule and sees the opportunity for his team to put everything they’ve learned into motion. Keeven, without hesitation, knows exactly where he believes they’ll have their best success.

“Anderson, by far,” he said when asked where he thinks he’ll get his best finish. “We just have that track down to a science. We set track record there a while back on the 8-inch tire in a crate car. We’ve always put up a good fight there.”

Confidence mixed with realism for Keeven heading into the upcoming season. The goal, as always is to win, but keeping in mind the difficulties his team has worked through, Keeven will be happy with improvement each week.

“Our main accomplishment is just to be better race day to race day,” Keeven explained. “A win would be nice but as long as we can improve ourselves each night, we’ll be fine.”

Keeven’s first chance to show improvement comes on Saturday, April 27th during the West Michigan 100 at Berlin Raceway. Tickets are available in advance at BerlinRaceway.com or on race day at the gate. Fans who can’t make the trip can watch every lap LIVE on RacingAmerica.TV, TrackTv.com, or FloRacing.
