Booking a holiday? Take Martin Lewis' travel insurance masterclass

The world has been closed to travel over the past few months. Yet with restrictions likely to be lifted to some EU countries today, and many airlines and hotels offering new cheap holiday deals, many may consider going away later this year. Yet our Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis is warning it’s vital to consider your travel insurance situation first…

Before we talk travel insurance, if you’re going away ensure you’ve a valid EHIC first

As most of the permitted travel is likely to be to European Union countries, make sure you’ve got your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). It’s still valid till the end of this year – though from 1 January 2021, after the transition period ends, the EHIC's future is less certain (the Government says it's discussing the future of 'reciprocal healthcare arrangements', including the EHIC, with the EU, but we don’t know what that’ll be yet). The free EHIC gives you access to state-run hospitals and GPs in the EU at the same cost as a local. So, if it's free for them, it's free for you. So if travelling this year make sure you have yours, and everyone (including children) needs their own valid card. The expiry date of the card is on the front of it (bottom right). If yours is out of date you can renew if for FREE on the  official EHIC website . Beware imposter sites charging for it – don’t pay anyone, it’s free.  And remember this is no substitution for travel insurance. You’ll need that too. When should you get travel insurance?

My usual answer is ASAB - As Soon As You Book - as half the point of travel insurance is not only to cover you for while you’re away but to also protect you if something happens before you travel and have to cancel. But in March, when the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) warned against all non-essential travel, travel insurance came to a near standstill and many weren’t covering holidays booked after mid-March. So, booking a future holiday would have been very risky.

But now, a few insurers are offering policies again. The dirt-cheap deals have gone, so prices are higher, but it’s still affordable. For full details see Martin’s  Cheap annual travel insurance  guide, it’ll also link you through to travel insurance for over 65s and those with pre-existing medical conditions too.

No mainstream policies will cover travel while the FCO continues to warn against it, nor if that's lifted and your holiday's cancelled due to future UK or other countries' coronavirus travel restrictions.

However, some (not all) no-thrills new policies including from Coverwise (Silver), Axa (Silver) and CoverForYou (Silver) will cover medical costs relating to coronavirus if you catch it overseas or if you or a family member get coronavirus before travelling and then can't travel. It can cost as little as £18 annual European cover for an individual under 66, or £8.50 for a one-week single European trip. Many of these offer older travellers cover too though prices increase. Other insurers like Leisure Guard, Staysure, Saga and Post Office will only cover you for medical costs once abroad, but not if you want to cancel beforehand due to covid. So do double check any policy before buying.

For those with pre-existing medical conditions many insurers currently have coronavirus exclusions on their policies. But it’s worth trying specialist medical comparison sites. A good starting point is  All Clear Travel  and  Staysure , as we know they will provide coronavirus medical assistance while abroad, including repatriation if needed, but do check others.

Are those who already have annual travel insurance still covered?

You  may  be, but it depends on when you got the insurance and booked the holiday...

- Had cover and a holiday booked before mid-March?  If both were sorted before the FCO warned against all non-essential travel, most (though not all) policies should cover you for cancellation while the FCO warning remains in place. Though your insurer will want you to try for refunds from the airline/travel firm first. The same should apply if the Government lifts then reimposes restrictions - provided your holiday was booked before mid-March.

- Booked holiday after mid-March?  If you booked after the FCO warning, you WON'T be covered for cancellation due to coronavirus travel restrictions or disruption.

- Annual travel insurance lapsing and booked a holiday before mid-March? DON'T switch firm.   If your insurance is about to expire, renew your cover with the same firm ASAP if you can. Most offer a continuation of existing coronavirus cancellation cover for holidays booked before the FCO warning, so stick with it, as you can't get that cover elsewhere.

If the holiday was booked after mid-March, you're unlikely to be covered for cancellation, so switching isn't such an issue.

- Not got travel booked and annual policy expiring?  There's little benefit in renewing immediately, as you only get the coronavirus continuity on holidays that were in place pre-March.

If I’ve got annual travel insurance and am not planning to use it can I get a refund?

Maybe. Some major travel insurers including Axa, Churchill, Direct Line and Co-op are offering pro-rata refunds to customers who've ruled out travelling due to coronavirus and want to cancel their policy, though you can only do this if you haven't already made a claim on your policy. Plus, only consider doing this if you don't have any travel still booked and if you've sorted a refund for any trips that have been cancelled, as once you've cancelled your travel insurance, it obviously won't give you any further protection.

If you’re passport needs renewing do it ASAP

And just a final note, if your passport is at or nearing expiry, then renew it ASAP. The Passport Office is warning, understandably, that renewing is taking longer than the usual 3 weeks and I’m hearing reports that at the extreme, some are taking 3 months or more, while fast-track services and face-to-face appointments are suspended. So, if you've a trip planned later this summer sort it quickly. Apply via the official  Gov site  and an adult passport costs £75.50 online (£85.50 for the jumbo 50-page passport) or £85 by paper (£95 for the 50-pager). And 'no passport' isn't covered on most travel insurance.

Martin Lewis warned people about using air fryers instead of ovens to cook food

Martin Lewis warned people about using air fryers instead of ovens to cook food

Martin lewis says air fryers are not always the best option.

Jess Battison

Yeah, sure, your air fryer is a game-changer. We’re all fed up of hearing it now.

Unless you’re willing to admit you’re the culprit, you’ve got at least one mate who won’t stop banging on about how good their air fryer is.

And to be fair, they are pretty handy. The kitchen appliances save a whole lot of time when you fancy a nice hot snack and people will cook anything and everything in them.

You might be interested to know that Martin Lewis gave his words of wisdom on the cookers every Brit seems to love so much. But it might not be the good news you’re hoping for.

In a previous episode of The Martin Lewis podcast, the 51-year-old explained how air fryers don't always outweigh ovens in being cheaper to use.

Lewis says: "A microwave gives you consistent heat whereas an oven is warming up to full temperature and then topping it up so it isn’t running at full power the whole time.

"If you were doing a full roast dinner and you were cooking many [jacket potatoes], it’s probably cheaper [putting them in the oven] than putting five or six jacket potatoes in a microwave because each additional object you put in a microwave, you need to keep it on longer because a microwave just heats the individual object."

Air fryers aren't always more cost-efficient than an oven. (Getty Stock Photo)

Don't start debating throwing out your air fryer just yet though, as Lewis notes if you cook a single jacket potato, which only needs around 10 minutes, it will be 'far cheaper' to do in a device like a microwave.

This goes for your beloved air fryer as well, as heating a jacket potato in your oven will take around 'an hour and a half’ and is therefore more expensive.

But if you fancy getting really technical, you can work out whether it's best to use your oven or air fryer for each meal using a handy equation.

Martin Lewis. (ITV)

He says: "General equation is, find the wattage of an item, then work out how many kilowatts or what fraction of a kilowatt it’s using, then multiply that by 34p per hour of use.

"[...] The problem with the equation for heating equipment is an oven is going to be about 2,000W. If you had a 1,000W microwave and you put it on for 10 minutes, one KWH for a sixth of an hour, a sixth of 34p is about 6p, shall we say?

"So it’s 6p turning the microwave on for that amount of time. So yes, it’s a very useful equation."

Air fryer life. (Getty Stock Image)

The same equation can be used for air fryers too. The Money Edit echoes Lewis' advice, noting 'generally' air fryers are 'cheaper to use' than an oven.

It explains: "An oven costs 21p to use on average and a 800W air fryer costs 13.6p to use.

"But if you own an air fryer that is a lot more powerful, you could be using near enough the same energy as an oven. For example the 2,000W air fryer costs 34p per use, that’s 13p more than an oven.

"And the biggest factor is the quantity of food you’re cooking. [...] Cooking the same thing twice in an 800W air fryer could cost you more than 26p, which is more expensive than cooking in the oven."

Lewis resolves: "If you're cooking something small and simple in there, it's probably cheaper in the microwave and similarly the air fryer."

What is the punishment for driving without insurance?

Driving on public roads without insurance is illegal and can lead to some serious punishments.

As per RAC, the police can:

  • Hand out a fixed penalty fine of £300.
  • Dock 6 points off the driver’s license.
  • Seize the vehicle.
  • Destroy the vehicle.

A court can then issue:

  • An unlimited fine.
  • Disqualification from driving.

Underinflated tyres reduce fuel efficiency

A common tyre issue could be costing you hundreds of pounds.

Wrongly inflated tyres can make your motor drive less efficiently and therefore cost you more money.

Underinflation can reduce a vehicle’s fuel efficiency by 10 per cent, costing the average family about £100 a year.

A poll of 1,000 motorists commissioned by  Apollo Tyres  found that only 15 percent of road users check their tyre pressures weekly.

When can you drive without wearing a seatbelt?

There are rare scenarios when wearing a seatbelt isn’t a legal requirement.

According to  gov.uk , you don’t need to wear a seat belt if you’re:

  • a driver who is reversing, or supervising a learner driver who is reversing
  • in a vehicle being used for police, fire and rescue services
  • a passenger in a trade vehicle and you’re investigating a fault
  • driving a goods vehicle on deliveries that is travelling no more than 50 metres between stops
  • a licensed taxi driver who is “plying for hire” or carrying passengers

The revolutionary tyre puncture repair kit requires no tools or jack – so no motorist is left stranded on the road side.

And they won’t have to fork out £1,000s repeatedly buying new tyres at a garage.

It costs less than a tenner, marked up at just £6.39 on the shelves.

Holts Tyreweld Puncture Repair claims to cause “no damage” and uses a “safe non-toxic-formula” which washes off easily.

It is currently available on the Tool Station website and has been hailed with glowing five-star reviews from buyers.

Cost of attacks on Sadiq Khan’s hated Ulez cameras revealed

Figures show the Met Police recorded 1,760 incidents of criminal damage or theft from April to February.

There are more than 3,400 cameras in  London , charging drivers of polluting vehicles £12.50 a time to enter the city.

But  Mayor Sadiq Khan ’s unpopular scheme has led to 40 to 60 attacks a week, say insiders.

Each camera is believed to be worth £10,000 so the total cost to replace damaged ones would be £17.6million.

Modifying your car could shorten its lifespan

Drivers should avoid making modifications to their cars, according to advice from RAC.

Making extensive changes to a vehicle, such as tuning the engine for more power, can put strain on other components.

Meanwhile, adding stiffer suspension can cause damage to the chassis, subframes and bushes.

Perhaps most importantly, making changes to your car will often lower its value, making it tougher to sell.

Top tips to prevent falling asleep at the wheel

IAM RoadSmart’s advice on how to avoid the dangers of drowsy driving:

  • Extreme tiredness can lead to micro-sleeps – a short episode of drowsiness or sleep that could last a fraction of a second or up to 30 seconds. A car driving at 70 mph will travel 31 meters per second, giving plenty of time to cause a serious crash during a micro-sleep.
  • The effects of losing one or two hours of sleep a night on a regular basis can lead to chronic sleepiness over time. So ensure you are well rested and feeling fit and healthy before you set off.
  • Make sure you take regular rest breaks to split up the journey when driving on a long, boring stretch of a motorway. It’s good practise to stop at least every two hours and it’s essential to take a break before the drowsiness sets in.
  • Plan an overnight stop. If you feel too fatigued to carry on driving, book yourself into a hotel at the next service station and sleep it off. It’s good to note that a caffeine high may be a quick fix, but it is not a long term solution and certainly no substitute for proper sleep.
  • You’re bound to be tired after a full day at work, so avoid setting out on a long drive after you have finished for the day. It’s best to start your journey earlier on, and when you’re more alert.
  • Avoid driving between the two peak times for sleepiness. These are between 3am and 5am and also between 2pm and 4pm.
  • If you have taken prescribed medication, seek advice from your GP as to whether you should be driving or not. If bought over the counter, read the instructions on the pack or speak to a pharmacist.

Look beyond mileage when buying a second-hand car, expert reveals

The first thing any driver looks at when buying a second-hand car is its mileage.

While this is important, classic car expert and mechanic Marc ‘Elvis’ Priestly has warned against letting it decide your purchase.

He told the Sun: “Yes, if your engine’s done 200,000 miles, it’s had a hard life, and components will wear out, but there are lots of other things that might suffer on a very low mileage car if it hasn’t been run anywhere.

“If it’s been sat in storage for a long time, some people will think that’s a wonderful thing, and that it’s going to be in great condition, but there are still things that will deteriorate on a car just due to its age, like corrosion in the bodywork.”

Could premium petrol be making your car run poorly?

A mechanic has claimed premium petrol could actually be making your car run poorly, despite costing £6 more than the standard product.

Scotty Kilmer, who has fixed cars for over 50 years, told his YouTube viewers the premium product is a “waste of money.”

He said: “It’s a waste of money putting premium fuel in a normal modern car.

“With modern engines having better design, lower compression and computer controls they will all run perfectly fine on regular fuel.

“If you have a car that’s made for normal fuel and you put it in, it could actually run worse because it’s set up for normal fuel at a lower compression.”

The biggest drawback to owning a large vehicle

Seven in 10 van owners say the biggest drawback to owning a larger vehicle is it frequently being borrowed by family and friends.

A poll of 500 van drivers said owning one can come with its downfalls as relatives and pals want to use it for their  own needs .

Moving furniture, visits to the tip and collecting big items from homeware stores were among the top reasons people needed a van-loan.

But 24 per cent said they are rarely or never offered money to cover the cost of using it, and 18 per cent feel uncomfortable saying no when somebody asks.

And 58 per cent feel their weekends often get wasted emptying and reloading their vehicle to help others.

Martin Lewis issues warning to air fryer users cooking more than one item

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM - MARCH 2024: Presenter, Martin Lewis During the Red Nose Day night of TV for Comic Relief on March 15th 2024 in Manchester, England. Live from MediaCityUk in Salford on BBC One and iPlayer. (Photo by James Stack/BBC/Comic Relief via Getty Images)

As households across the country are turning to time-saving, alternative ways of cooking, kitchen gadgets like air fryers have quickly become a hot topic.

An air fryer is an ideal way to cook things quickly, and the popular item can cook everything from roast potatoes to fish and chips.

It’s also a healthier way to cook a meal as it doesn’t require as much oil as other forms of cooking, like frying or oven baking.

However, money expert Martin Lewis has now issued a warning to people who are using air fryers instead of ovens.

After receiving numerous financial questions about switching to an air fryer, Martin set the record straight during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

‘If it’s being done for taste, I don’t want to get involved. I mean, the benefit of an oven is when you’re cooking a lot for a lot of people, and you can fill all the racks and have it on consistently. Air fryers are good for small things that cook quickly,’ Martin said.

Martin Lewis has best tip for fans of Walkers discontinued Worcester Sauce crisps

Everyone has their favourite brand and flavour and crisps, which means there’s potential for heartbreak if yours ever gets  discontinued .

Fans of Walkers  Worcester Sauce  crisps were left outraged when the tangy variety got axed back in October 2023.

Walkers shared the bad news on X (formerly Twitter) when replying to a customer, who asked what had happened to packets. The official account responded saying: ‘Sorry to say Worcester Sauce has been discontinued.’

Many were bereft to hear this – but if you were one of the fans left devastated, then we might have some good news for you, and it’s all thanks to  Martin Lewis .

While the founder of  Money Saving Expert  is usually dishing out financial advice, he’s also landed on a brilliant foodie recommendation too.

Martin says he’s found the ‘best’ alternative to the iconic Walkers snack, claiming he has been ‘very impressed’ by Seabrook’s Lea & Perrins crisps.

‘If you’re gonna have to use your air fryer fifteen different times for different items, generally on energy usage you’d be better off to use an oven.

‘If you’re doing a jacket potato for 10 minutes it’s going to be far cheaper [in the microwave] than doing a single jacket potato in an oven and keeping it on for an hour and a half.

‘However, if you were doing a full roast dinner and you were cooking many of them, that is where it’s probably cheaper than putting five or six jacket potatoes in a microwave because each additional object you put in a microwave, you need to keep it on longer because a microwave just heats the individual object.’

So, is there a way to work out whether it’s cheaper to cook food in an air fryer or the oven?

How much an air fryer costs to use depends on the size of the air fryer that you have. As a rough guide, a small air fryer will use around 800 to 1,000 watts, while larger air fryers will use around 1,500 watts.

According to a study by Uswitch , the costs work out as follows:

  • 1,000 watts air fryer costs 17p per 30 minutes of use, and 33p per 60 minutes of use
  • 1,500 watts air fryer costs 25p for 30 mins, and 50p for 60 mins

More specifically, Martin suggested working out the wattage of an appliance by ‘work[ing] out how many kilowatts or what fraction of a kilowatt it’s using, then multiply that by 34p per hour of use.’

On average, electric ovens have a power rating of between 2 and 2.2 kWH, so they consume between 2,000 and 2,200 watts for each hour they’re used (typically on a medium-high heat).

According to data from Uswitch , ovens typically cost around 17p per hour of use, which is actually less than the air fryer – which can cost up to 50p for 60 minutes (depending on the model, of course).

So, the next time you’re deliberating over whether to use your air fryer or your oven, make sure you have your calculator to hand!

Martin Lewis advises Rishi Sunak over Rwanda flight bills

Martin Lewis mocks Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda flight bills in Have I Got News For You takedown

Martin Lewis didn’t hold back in taking down the prime minister during an appearance on Have I Got News For You last night (26 April), when he offered Rishi Sunak advice on how to keep the cost of his proposed flights to Rwanda down.

“The Rwandan scheme is proving quite expensive. It’s currently projected to have a base cost of £370m over the five-year contract ”, the money saving expert began.

“Although, I’ve looked into this and they can get £25 off that if they use a voucher code. I’ve managed to source this one: ‘S***SHOW2024’.”

The Moscow Metro Museum of Art: 10 Must-See Stations

There are few times one can claim having been on the subway all afternoon and loving it, but the Moscow Metro provides just that opportunity.  While many cities boast famous public transport systems—New York’s subway, London’s underground, San Salvador’s chicken buses—few warrant hours of exploration.  Moscow is different: Take one ride on the Metro, and you’ll find out that this network of railways can be so much more than point A to B drudgery.

The Metro began operating in 1935 with just thirteen stations, covering less than seven miles, but it has since grown into the world’s third busiest transit system ( Tokyo is first ), spanning about 200 miles and offering over 180 stops along the way.  The construction of the Metro began under Joseph Stalin’s command, and being one of the USSR’s most ambitious building projects, the iron-fisted leader instructed designers to create a place full of svet (radiance) and svetloe budushchee (a radiant future), a palace for the people and a tribute to the Mother nation.

Consequently, the Metro is among the most memorable attractions in Moscow.  The stations provide a unique collection of public art, comparable to anything the city’s galleries have to offer and providing a sense of the Soviet era, which is absent from the State National History Museum.  Even better, touring the Metro delivers palpable, experiential moments, which many of us don’t get standing in front of painting or a case of coins.

Though tours are available , discovering the Moscow Metro on your own provides a much more comprehensive, truer experience, something much less sterile than following a guide.  What better place is there to see the “real” Moscow than on mass transit: A few hours will expose you to characters and caricatures you’ll be hard-pressed to find dining near the Bolshoi Theater.  You become part of the attraction, hear it in the screech of the train, feel it as hurried commuters brush by: The Metro sucks you beneath the city and churns you into the mix.

With the recommendations of our born-and-bred Muscovite students, my wife Emma and I have just taken a self-guided tour of what some locals consider the top ten stations of the Moscow Metro. What most satisfied me about our Metro tour was the sense of adventure .  I loved following our route on the maps of the wagon walls as we circled the city, plotting out the course to the subsequent stops; having the weird sensation of being underground for nearly four hours; and discovering the next cavern of treasures, playing Indiana Jones for the afternoon, piecing together fragments of Russia’s mysterious history.  It’s the ultimate interactive museum.

Top Ten Stations (In order of appearance)

Kievskaya station.

martin lewis travel advice

Kievskaya Station went public in March of 1937, the rails between it and Park Kultury Station being the first to cross the Moscow River.  Kievskaya is full of mosaics depicting aristocratic scenes of Russian life, with great cameo appearances by Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin.  Each work has a Cyrillic title/explanation etched in the marble beneath it; however, if your Russian is rusty, you can just appreciate seeing familiar revolutionary dates like 1905 ( the Russian Revolution ) and 1917 ( the October Revolution ).

Mayakovskaya Station

Mayakovskaya Station ranks in my top three most notable Metro stations. Mayakovskaya just feels right, done Art Deco but no sense of gaudiness or pretention.  The arches are adorned with rounded chrome piping and create feeling of being in a jukebox, but the roof’s expansive mosaics of the sky are the real showstopper.  Subjects cleverly range from looking up at a high jumper, workers atop a building, spires of Orthodox cathedrals, to nimble aircraft humming by, a fleet of prop planes spelling out CCCP in the bluest of skies.

Novoslobodskaya Station

martin lewis travel advice

Novoslobodskaya is the Metro’s unique stained glass station.  Each column has its own distinctive panels of colorful glass, most of them with a floral theme, some of them capturing the odd sailor, musician, artist, gardener, or stenographer in action.  The glass is framed in Art Deco metalwork, and there is the lovely aspect of discovering panels in the less frequented haunches of the hall (on the trackside, between the incoming staircases).  Novosblod is, I’ve been told, the favorite amongst out-of-town visitors.

Komsomolskaya Station

Komsomolskaya Station is one of palatial grandeur.  It seems both magnificent and obligatory, like the presidential palace of a colonial city.  The yellow ceiling has leafy, white concrete garland and a series of golden military mosaics accenting the tile mosaics of glorified Russian life.  Switching lines here, the hallway has an Alice-in-Wonderland feel, impossibly long with decorative tile walls, culminating in a very old station left in a remarkable state of disrepair, offering a really tangible glimpse behind the palace walls.

Dostoevskaya Station

martin lewis travel advice

Dostoevskaya is a tribute to the late, great hero of Russian literature .  The station at first glance seems bare and unimpressive, a stark marble platform without a whiff of reassembled chips of tile.  However, two columns have eerie stone inlay collages of scenes from Dostoevsky’s work, including The Idiot , The Brothers Karamazov , and Crime and Punishment.   Then, standing at the center of the platform, the marble creates a kaleidoscope of reflections.  At the entrance, there is a large, inlay portrait of the author.

Chkalovskaya Station

Chkalovskaya does space Art Deco style (yet again).  Chrome borders all.  Passageways with curvy overhangs create the illusion of walking through the belly of a chic, new-age spacecraft.  There are two (kos)mosaics, one at each end, with planetary subjects.  Transferring here brings you above ground, where some rather elaborate metalwork is on display.  By name similarity only, I’d expected Komsolskaya Station to deliver some kosmonaut décor; instead, it was Chkalovskaya that took us up to the space station.

Elektrozavodskaya Station

martin lewis travel advice

Elektrozavodskaya is full of marble reliefs of workers, men and women, laboring through the different stages of industry.  The superhuman figures are round with muscles, Hollywood fit, and seemingly undeterred by each Herculean task they respectively perform.  The station is chocked with brass, from hammer and sickle light fixtures to beautiful, angular framework up the innards of the columns.  The station’s art pieces are less clever or extravagant than others, but identifying the different stages of industry is entertaining.

Baumanskaya Statio

Baumanskaya Station is the only stop that wasn’t suggested by the students.  Pulling in, the network of statues was just too enticing: Out of half-circle depressions in the platform’s columns, the USSR’s proud and powerful labor force again flaunts its success.  Pilots, blacksmiths, politicians, and artists have all congregated, posing amongst more Art Deco framing.  At the far end, a massive Soviet flag dons the face of Lenin and banners for ’05, ’17, and ‘45.  Standing in front of the flag, you can play with the echoing roof.

Ploshchad Revolutsii Station

martin lewis travel advice

Novokuznetskaya Station

Novokuznetskaya Station finishes off this tour, more or less, where it started: beautiful mosaics.  This station recalls the skyward-facing pieces from Mayakovskaya (Station #2), only with a little larger pictures in a more cramped, very trafficked area.  Due to a line of street lamps in the center of the platform, it has the atmosphere of a bustling market.  The more inventive sky scenes include a man on a ladder, women picking fruit, and a tank-dozer being craned in.  The station’s also has a handsome black-and-white stone mural.

Here is a map and a brief description of our route:

Start at (1)Kievskaya on the “ring line” (look for the squares at the bottom of the platform signs to help you navigate—the ring line is #5, brown line) and go north to Belorusskaya, make a quick switch to the Dark Green/#2 line, and go south one stop to (2)Mayakovskaya.  Backtrack to the ring line—Brown/#5—and continue north, getting off at (3)Novosblodskaya and (4)Komsolskaya.  At Komsolskaya Station, transfer to the Red/#1 line, go south for two stops to Chistye Prudy, and get on the Light Green/#10 line going north.  Take a look at (5)Dostoevskaya Station on the northern segment of Light Green/#10 line then change directions and head south to (6)Chkalovskaya, which offers a transfer to the Dark Blue/#3 line, going west, away from the city center.  Have a look (7)Elektroskaya Station before backtracking into the center of Moscow, stopping off at (8)Baumskaya, getting off the Dark Blue/#3 line at (9)Ploschad Revolyutsii.  Change to the Dark Green/#2 line and go south one stop to see (10)Novokuznetskaya Station.
