Normal, Eco and Sports Mode

Can anyone outline the difference between these modes for me? I have a GTD and have been unable to find anything on the subject not filled with technical jargon. I have been playing a bit, I normally just leave it in Eco Mode though. The car is noticeably louder in Sport Mode (internal speaker?) and definitely feels a bit punchier, if not actually faster so more sensitive throttle? I have not really used Normal mode so all my comparisons are from Eco to Sport Mode. I can't notice a big change in the steering which was one I expected unless it's just too subtle for me to notice. Does Eco mode restrict the throttle/revs in anyway? If not, how is it Eco? Or does it prevent things like the heated windscreen and rear window or air-con from operating? I have a Tornado Red Manual GTD by the way, pics will follow when it is not filthy!

Looking forward to pictures, mine seems to be taking forever to come ! What kind of mpg are you getting in Eco Mode and how does this differ from MPG in sport mode.

Passed Driver's Ed

I find the biggest difference in ECO to SPORT, in ECO revs fall off as soon as foot off pedal (drops to circa 1000rpm) and is less responsive to throttle. SPORT for me is excellent.; I have the DSG and also the adaptive chassis, which I think makes a real difference too coupled to the engine mapping.

So far (used less than half a tank of fuel) I averaged 56mpg on a 1 hour journey which consisted of a 15 minute ring road portion so stopping at traffic lights often, sub-40mph, probably averaging 20mph followed by a 45 minute B-road portion moving between 40 and 60mph as I was going through villages. I expected more on that journey to be honest, but the car has less than 200 miles on it and it was a cold frosty morning with heated everything on so maybe it will improve as it loosens up and in better weather. I am impressed however that it still gets high ish mpg on short journeys - I averaged 40mpg over 4x 4mile ring road type journeys from cold starts. I have not really had a comparison of the Eco, Sports and Normal mode yet for fuel consumption.

Alfa, that's true I suppose the impact of the modes is limited a somewhat in a manual with normal suspension as they can't be changed obviously.

Ready to race!

Eco: changes up through gears quicker. Revs drop off to idle speed when you release accelerator as it drops into neutral and coasts, until you touch brake or accelerator again & it slips back into gear. There is no restriction on revs, you can still put your foot down, or knock it down a gear to get the revs up. Eco will also turn stop/start on if you had turned it off on that journey. All designed to improve mpg. It doesn't, that i'm aware, do anything to the electrical system. From my experience, the biggest improvements in mpg come from coasting in eco when your foot is off the throttle (gentle acceleration helps too!)

I have a manual so I guess the gear change bit does not apply. However, I had always though it was better to leave the car in gear and drop down through the gears with engine braking, when approaching red traffic lights for example, than to drop it into neutral - as in neutral the engine still uses fuel for tickover whereas it uses none when engine braking as its own momentum is keeping the rpms up. By your description the auto box is taking this ability away by dropping it into neutral when you're not accelerating.

Be interesting to know how much difference eco makes over the other settings, that said, i cant bring myself to not use sport!!

It's nice to have the consumption figures readily available but they should only be taken as a guide. A recent manual check over a full tankful on mine showed the readout was 7% optimistic. That probably doesn't matter for comparing our own usage in the various modes or driving conditions but it could do if we try to compare our mpg to that achieved by others.

As far as I believe, Eco will use nearly as much fuel as Sport if you drive them the same, the more sluggish accelerator of Eco is to encourage economic driving but if you insist on rapid acceleration, then all is lost.

I find normal mode works the best for me, but sport is def best for a blast on a coast road. My fuel economy on normal is mid 40's, Sport mid 30's and Eco mid 30's.... my driving manner must be horrific!

Stripey said: Ah sorry, didn't realise you had a gear stick! So yeah the quicker gear changes wont apply. But regarding using fuel at idle revs (i.e. in neutral) vs engine breaking, surely the engine is still on and revving when 'engine breaking' so although there will be little strain on the engine, it will still be using fuel? And as the engine breaking revs are higher than idle revs, it possibly uses more fuel engine breaking at 2000rpm than coasting at 800rpm? But when coasting, you can literally see your journey (from start) mpg average shoot up. Click to expand...

Yeah dont worry i wasnt questioning anyones choice of transmission. I didnt choose an automatic for its mpg, it was purely to make driving in congestion more comfortable. I dont know what OBDII is and also dont understand how a car can use more fuel at idle than it can at higher revs? It cant possibly use 'no fuel' even if you're not touching the accelerator otherwise wouldnt the engine stop firing and cut out? At the very least, wouldn't it use the minimum to keep the engine ticking over, i.e. the same as at idle (coasting)? Interestingly, when you do the 'in gear, no gas' decelerate, the instantaneous mpg shows as '---' whereas when in eco & coasting in neutral, the mpg shows as 'coasting'. So there is a difference but what that is I have no idea! Anyway, i wont gatecrash a mode thread with fuel efficiency theory. We'll have to start a new thread for that!

10 tech-tastic features inside the new VW Golf 7

High-tech features now coming as standard

VW Golf

It's enough to make us want to learn German. The new VW Golf 7 launched in Berlin early last month with a slew of innovative new tech features, including lane keeping and emergency urban braking.

The remarkable news is not that the new Golf is so tech-laden, but that these high-end features are typically found on luxury vehicles intended for lawyers and celebrities. Here are the top ten.

1. Lane-keeping

Normally found in a Lexus or Infiniti, the lane-keeping features in the Golf 7 are quite advanced. In some vehicles, a lane alert chimes to tell you to pay attention. In the Golf, the vehicle causes a slight buzz on the steering wheel and nudges you slightly back into the lane. The improvement here is that the lane departure system works continuously, not just when it detects a problem.

2. Direct Steering

If you compare an older Golf to the newer models, you will notice one major difference: the steering in a newer model is much tighter and responsive. That's what makes the Golf fun to drive, like a more accurate controller for a video game. The Golf 7 adds a new feature using a progressive gear ratio that makes steering even more responsive. You feel as though the car is more in your control.

3. Fatigue Detection

Even a Mercedes-Benz from a few years ago had a system that monitored your steering angle, speed, and how long you've been on the road. The new Golf 7 now has this feature as well, which is surprising for a small car. When you first start driving, the Golf monitors how you drive, noting your usual patterns. (For example, that you correct within a split-second.) As you drive, the Golf knows if you change your patterns and warns you to take a break. The system debut in the re-designed Passat.

4. Adaptive cruise control

Many mid-range to high-end cars offer adaptive cruise control (ACC), a system that controls your speed based on the car in front of you. Some only do this at highways speeds, some will adjust your speed in urban areas. The Golf 7 does both – from 30 to 150 kmh and even down to a full stop. Ask anyone who has ACC and you'll find out how beneficial it is – it can be a real life-saver.

5. Multicollision braking

One of the most innovative features has to do with post-crash braking. Many luxury cars will brake automatically if the forward warning system detects an imminent crash. Some will bring you to a full stop. The Golf 7 has a unique system that will do pre-crash braking but will also keep braking if you do collide. (Studies show many serious injuries occur after an initial impact.)

6. 64GB SSD

In the upper trim level, the Golf 7 comes with a massive 64GB SSD drive that is ostensibly designed to house nav data and other information for the vehicle, but the drive can access about 10GB. The 8-inch touchscreen allows you to control this media with the flip of your finger.

7. Built-in WiFi

Yet another unique feature for a small car, the upper trim levels (those that comes with the 9-inch touchscreen, called Discover Pro) offer a mobile hotspot feature. This is a bit different from some – the car itself has carrier service for some of the nav systems, so you can enable a hotspot and then allow passengers (or the driver while stopped) to tap into the signal with a tablet or phone.

8. Emergency braking

Many cars have a pre-crash system that slams on the brakes and deploys the airbags. In the Golf 7, there's a subtle variation. In slow speeds below 30 kph, the Golf can apply brakes in three stages, which are essentially: light braking if a crash is not imminent, medium braking, and full-stop.

9. Light assist

This feature might seem unusual to those who normally drive budget-model cars. As you drive at night, the high-beams will automatically activate and deactivate. There's a forward-facing camera that detects oncoming traffic. When there are no cars, the high-beams turn on for you.

10. Lighter construction

Even though it is not a tech feature, the steel construction of the new Golf is a win for fuel economy (a rating we won't know until the car hits the road) and durability. VW says they reduced the overall weight by 23 kg to make the Golf, yet the high-grade construction is just as safe.

What settings do you choose in Individual mode?

I was thinking of replicating 'Race' in my 'Individual' mode, but with the internal engine sound turned down.

Does that work, or is it like 'Eco' in so far as you can configure it the same, but you only get coasting in true 'Eco' mode?

i.e. Does race have special features that you can't configure into individual?

ps - I know I will have to move DSG into S, I can live with that, and I don't want to disable to soundaktor as there are occasions when I quite like it!

March 21, 2016

Lighter steering with more assistance, there doesn't seem to be a massive difference between all 3 though.

I find Sport steering is great for most situations, except long motorway drags when it can seem very twitchy (or highly strung!) and can be hard work, especially if you've been on the road a long time

R Legend & all round God

I have it all set to sport, apart from drive as normal (so DSG is in D not S) and interior engine sound, which is either eco or normal (depending on my mood), basically it's like a quieter version of race, without the fakery.

You still need to use race mode for launch control as far as I know.

Isn't 'launch' just esc 'sport' or 'off' and transmission in 's'?

Possibly, I have only tried it in Race mode though, not in individual, someone else may be able to confirm?

Ultimate R Hero

I'm pretty sure it is,  When I did mine in the R I was already in Race, but in my 6GTI, driver profile modes didn't exist, so it was ESC off, DSG into S mode.  The box has to be in Sport so either will work.

I’m mainly using Individual with this setup: DCC - Sport (occasionally Normal) I like a firm bone crunching suspension!  Steering - Sport - except Normal for some motorway treks when Sport is too twitchy Drive – Sport or Normal  - depending on the journey. ACC - Normal Interior engine sound - Eco usually  - but sometimes I like a bit of fakery so it gets whacked up if I'm on the mood. Aircon – Normal Dynamic cornering lighting – Sport

That's the beauty of Individual - can have it exactly as you wish depending on road conditions, mood and whatever takes your fancy at any given time.

A pedal box is very similar in that sense - throttle response adjustability to suit the circumstances and your mood. It's the perfect companion to Individual mode customisation ;-)

Upvote

I hardly use it but...

On the way to work there's a very winding, and undulating country lane, it's only a forty, but quite fun if you can keep the speed up. Unfortunately at this time of year I reach it before my R has warmed up enough for race mode. So for the odd occasion that I'm not stuck behind someone doing twenty five, I have individual set to same as normal but with race suspension.

Everything set to sport apart from DCC - comfort and engine sound to Eco / normal. Goes well, rides soft. Perfect!

Jobs

I don't have DCC so everything in sport aside from the steering, I think it feels broken in sport!

Does dcc make a big difference? If you have it could you live without it? Those that dont have it do you wish u did? Sorry for the hijack

Sammo

Can of worms. Quite differing views on this.

Regardless of whether it's worth it, it makes a HUGE difference to the ride quality from comfort to sport.

mode voyage golf 7

What is the difference between eco and normal in the steering mode?

I live in edinburgh, the birthplace of the pothole. Im not sure it would make a difference to me

Surely it would make a huge difference to you. The roads around me in Cheshire are awful but in comfort mode its only the real big pot holes that make me wince.

Innovation pure: Golf VII – since 2012

Volkswagen Golf

The new one rests in itself

On September 4, 2012, Volkswagen celebrated the world premiere of the new Golf in Berlin. Just one day later, advance sales of the car, a best-seller with over 30 million units sold, began in initial launch countries. Just three weeks later, Volkswagen presented the Golf for the first time to a large audience at the Paris Motor Show. The weight of the new Golf was reduced by up to 100 kg, thereby reversing the often cited upward weight spiral. Fuel economy was improved by a maximum of 23 percent, depending on engine selection. The new Golf TDI BlueMotion consumes only 3.2 l/100 km (85 g of CO 2 /km) under standard NEDC conditions. In 2014, Volkswagen electrifies the compact class with the Golf: the all-electric e-Golf with a range of around 190 kilometres is already available to buy. In addition, the new Golf GTE will be launched in the autumn. Its plug-in hybrid drive system achieves a standard fuel consumption of 1.5 l/100 km; in all-electric mode, the Golf GTE can be driven for 50 kilometres. In addition, Volkswagen has equipped the Golf with an entire armada of new assistance systems on the market – some as options and others as standard.

The base petrol engine model (TSI) consumes 4.9 l/100 km and the entry-level diesel (TDI) 3.8 l/100 km. The TSI models thus beat the CO 2 mark of 115 g/km, while at 99 g/km, the TDIs come in under the 100 g/km threshold. As mentioned above, the best figures are delivered by the Golf TDI BlueMotion: 3.2 litres per 100 km and 85 g/km of CO 2 . Another highlight is the 1.4 TSI with 103 kW / 140 PS and automatic cylinder shut-off (ACT: active cylinder management). The combined fuel consumption of this petrol-powered car that is as sporty as it is sustainable: 4.7 l/100 km (equating to 109 g/km CO 2 ). The independent GTI and the new Golf R are also fuel efficient as well as awesomely sporty.

By the way, Volkswagen estimates that by virtue of the new Golf fleet – with CO 2 emissions reduced by 13.9 percent on average across the entire engine range – 119,000 tons less CO 2 will be produced annually in Europe alone! The hunt for every last gram, meanwhile, must not be allowed to lead to advances being achieved at the expense of steps backward in other areas. Here too, Volkswagen demonstrates that the Golf stands more than ever for a democratisation of progress and for perfection in every detail:

  • with added space (extra legroom in the back and 30 litres more trunk capacity);
  • new pioneering safety systems such as the automatic post-collision braking system and a proactive passenger protection system, as well as adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Front Assist including the city emergency braking function;
  • a new progressive steering system and wheel suspension;
  • a driving profile selector, a touchscreen as standard in all models and a completely redesigned world of information and entertainment systems with a display in the top versions that reacts to hand movements via a proximity sensor.

The Golf VII design

The individual DNA of the Golf includes elements such as the reduced design grill crossbar and side window graphics, as well as the roof line of the Golf I, or the highly familiar C-pillar and wheel arches of the Golf IV. The new Golf is the most modern interpretation of this design language: "It is logical, sound, product-oriented, pure and precise, and reflects the design DNA of the brand as a pure expression of the design," says Klaus Bischoff, Chief Designer of Volkswagen Brand. Bischoff continues: "That's why the basic architecture of the new Golf is unmistakable: It has a simple, strong, coherent, reliable and secure feel. The fact the proportions of the Golf have changed entirely with the seventh generation is extremely significant, giving the car a more confident look on the road than ever! Thanks to the modular transverse matrix the front wheels moved 43 mm further toward the front end. That shortens the front overhang, while the hood appears longer. Klaus Bischoff: "The vehicle cab is shifted backward in visual terms, resulting in the so-called 'cab backward impression.' That's what the proportions of upper-class vehicles are called, where the hood is long and the cab is located far toward the rear. The new Golf therefore has the type of proportions usually only seen in higher segments."

Two typical Golf elements are characteristic of the Golf silhouette: C-pillar and roof line. The C-pillar runs from the roof down to the rear wheel arch in a single, homogeneous surface. Above the wheel arch, however, it assumes the full width of the car to a greater extent; that's why the new Golf looks more massive and powerful from the back view or rather angled back view, without having a classic shoulder section. The absence of a shoulder is typical for the Golf. In the front side view, the precision of the C-pillar design becomes apparent; it looks like the taut string of a bow, accelerating even a stationary Golf forward purely on a visual basis, and is also a tribute to the first and fourth Golf - the two design icons of the series.

Klaus Bischoff again: "The contouring of the typical long roofline was also redesigned from scratch. Again, the Golf comes with a new line above the side windows, which runs from the roof spoiler right up to the A-pillars. That's one of the character traits that give the Golf a high-quality look from the side, a line that might remain unnoticed at a first glance, but which nonetheless is another detail on the road to optical precision." The design DNA is also expressed in a sympathetic friendly "face"; additionally, it is defined by horizontally balanced elements, which give it width, just as with the first Golf. Taken together, the resulting a front section can be recognised as a Golf in any rear-view mirror. With a drag coefficient of 0.27 (TDI and TGI BlueMotion), the extremely aerodynamic Golf VII has a highly confident appearance. And so it should be.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data are determined in accordance with the measurement procedures prescribed by law. 1 January 2022, the WLTP test cycle completely replaced the NEDC test cycle and therefore no NEDC values are available for new type approved vehicles after that date.

This information does not refer to a single vehicle and is not part of the offer but is only intended for comparison between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (additional components, tyre formats, etc.) can alter relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, affecting the vehicle's fuel consumption, power consumption, CO 2 emissions and driving performance values in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior.

Due to more realistic testing conditions, fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions measured according to WLTP will in many cases be higher than the values measured according to NEDC. As a result, the taxation of vehicles may change accordingly as of 1 September 2018. For further information on the differences between WLTP and NEDC, please visit www.volkswagen.de/wltp .

Further information on official fuel consumption data and official specific CO 2 emissions for new passenger cars can be found in the "Guide to fuel economy, CO 2 emissions and power consumption for new passenger car models", which is available free of charge from all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, D-73760 Ostfildern, Germany and at www.dat.de/co2 .

The MK7 GTI, Golf and Golf R are great and very tune-able platforms.  We thought it might be helpful to put out a list of the top 10 most popular MK7 modifications (upgrades) for anyone new to the platform.  This list was put together with the input from many members of the MK7 Community.  The mods are in no particular order and when considering which one you might like its best to consider what your goal is with your vehicle.  Since very few people have unlimited budgets to modify their car, you are going to have to make some tough choices.

If you decide that power is the most important thing to you then performance tuning software should probably be considered.  If you prefer handling and or suspension modifications then maybe springs or coilovers are the best place to start.  Keep in mind, this is your car and modifying it should be what you want it to be not what others think you should do first.

1. Performance Software (Chip) Tuning

Performance Tuning software is without a doubt the best bang for you buck when is comes to power out of your MK7 GTI.  This is software that is uploaded to the engine computer which adjusts boost, timing, fuel and more to squeeze everything it can out of your 2.0T engine.  You can expect to see and additional 100 hp and  89 lbft of torque.  There are a few major players in the software tuning space, and they are Unitronic , APR , Eurodyne and Revo .  While it is widely debated which one is better all of these will produce similar power results.  This important factor when selecting software is find a software dealer who is reputable and can or will take care of you when needed.

  2. Suspension Tuning (Coilovers or Springs)

Mk7 Bilstein PSS10 Coilovers

Lowering your vehicle is a great way to get better handling out of a MK7 GTI.  You have 2 main options when it comes to lowering your MK7 GTI, Springs or Coilovers.  Springs are a much more affordable option, which gets your car lower without breaking the bank.  The one downside to springs is the original shocks are not tuned for the ride height you are changing to.  This is not generally an issue as long as you are not going too low.  If your keep the drop on your car around 1.0-1.5 in you should be fine with the factory shocks.  Coilovers give you the ability to adjust the ride height of your MK7, offering the chance to get the stance your would like.  There are tons of coilovers out there on the market, and they have a huge range in price .  One thing to keep in mind when purchasing entry level coilovers, no engineering or track testing was done in the development of that product.  Entry level coilovers are a great way to give you adjustable ride height but the handling component is going to be the major difference in the price of the coilover setup.

3. High Performance Intake Systems

Mk7 Unitronic Carbon Fiber Intake

The intake on your car is intended to be a balance between comfort, efficiency and performance.  For this reason the factory airbox (intake) tends to be more restrictive than the aftermarket alternatives.  There are plenty of options when it comes to modifying your intake.  The most economical choice would be to get a high flow filter which would replace your stock air filter.  This removes the restriction created by the stock filter which does not flow as freely as the performance ones (2 versions we offer listed below).  To maximize the power increase you are going to want to install a complete intake system.  The removes not only the stock air filter but also the stock air box which can also be very restrictive to air flow. Check out our full article here!

4. Downpipe with High Flow Cat

Mk7 Raw Downpipe

Installing a downpipe is a must for any MK7 owner serious about performance.  The downpipe is the main restriction point in the exhaust of the MK7.  Pretty much all performance downpipes are going to be 3in performance ones with or without a cat.  We generally recommend installing a cat to avoid any emissions inspection related issues.  Adding a downpipe coupled with software (Stg 2 for most tuners) you can expect around 27hp and 23 lbft of torque. On the MK7 most performance downpipes will also give you a little more exhaust note, even when coupled with the stock cat back.  This ends up being a great addition with more power and a little bit of rasp.

5. Performance Diverter Valve (GFB DV+)

GFB DV+ Mk7

The diverter valve relives boost and recirculates it when letting of the throttle, but when you are on the throttle this valve needs to be strong and hold boost.  This is especially true on modified turbo cars like the MK7 GTI, as tuning software will almost certainly increase the boost pressures.  The GFB DV+ for VW 2.0T (Shown above) is an incredibly popular choice as it a simple, affordable and effective way to upgrade the stock DV on your MK7 GTI.

6. Vent Boost Gauge

Mk7 P3 Vent Gauge

For any modified car making sure you know what the vehicle is doing is so important.  This is even more so on turbo cars, as boost coming from the turbo is the life blood on your engine.  Without a turbo the vehicle will make significantly less power.  For this reason it is imperative you know have a boost gauge to make sure you are managing this.  Most tuned MK7 GTIs will run anywhere from 21-29lbs of boost max (depending on the tune).  Knowing where your vehicle will run on average will allow you to know when something is up (like a boost leak).  The gauge pictured above is a P3 Cars MK7 Digital Vent Gauge , this gauge has tons more options which you can click on the product link below.  One of the coolest features is a 0-60 timer which allows you to automatically test how quick your car really is.

7. Torque Arm Insert (Engine Mount)

Mk7 BFI Dogbone Insert

The torque arm (often referred to as dogbone) mount is located in the subframe of the vehicle.  This mount controls the fore and aft movement of the engine.  This is especially important upon launching or acceleration, as when you are accelerating the engine wants to torque towards the rear of the vehicle.  This torquing with this stock mount can create wheel hop which will adversely affect the acceleration of your MK7 GTI.  Most torque mounts are a pretty affordable way to help you put your power to the ground.  They are generally inserts that fill the gaps in between the stock mount with a polyurethane which helps tighten up the sloppiness.  Please note that this modification while being wildly popular can create more vibration in the vehicle.

8. Front Mount Intercooler

Mk7 IE Intercooler

The factory intercooler can often become heat soaked.  Heat soaked defined by Garrett is "When the intercooler can't dissipate the heat that it absorbs from the turbo fast enough. When an intercooler can't cool the charge air by removing the heat from it, it loses its effectiveness. This explains why turbo cars tend to run slower or have slightly less power when the weather is warm."  The way to solve this is to upgrade your intercooler to a thicker and or more efficient intercooler.  This allows the engine to get cooler air, which is more dense and helps make more power.   Check out this article where we have more detail about VW MK7 Intercoolers .

Mk7 GTI Rear Sway Bar

Rear Swar bars are a great way to flatten your MK7 out in turns.  This will help decrease body roll and make the vehicle more stable.  A rear sway bar on your MK7 is without a doubt the easiest way to improve the handling on your car with minimal cost or labor to install. got a link for the gear knob parts? easy enough to fit?

www.ebay.co.uk

DSG Gear Selector Knob Trim Cover For VW GOLF MK7 MK7.5 R GTI GTD | eBay

You don't have to disconnect the selector cable? When I changed the metal trim on my DSG selector that was a headache!!

I didn't change the gear knob trim, only the insert on the sides and the top. I've heard it's a ball ache to disconnect the selector cable, hence why I didn't bother lol

mode voyage golf 7

So which is best boot lock. Mk 7 "blue" , mk7.5 "black" , mk8 "skinny" ?

@JT-GTE would the budget not run to having the seat belt reels re-done in electric blue ? I have another electric blue car and have been so tempted but not pulled the trigger yet !

Hi Farmer, thanks for the suggestion of electric blue seat belts, but that would be a bit too much blue for me, lol

mode voyage golf 7

How easy is it to move the rear GTE letters to move them above or below the VW badge?

I guess you are after the Mk8 look? I've never tried to remove factory-fit badges or lettering, but I think it can be done with a hair-dryer (or better, hot air gun) and some fishing line (thinner the better, but with a high breaking strain). Warm the letters/badge to soften the adhesive and then use the fishing line to "slice" the letters/badge from the bodywork ... though as I say, I've never done this, and have no desire to do so. Perhaps some other members may be able to help you. Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can get some blue GTE stickers/decals made please? I've searched eBay and Etsy and just a general google search, but I can't find anywhere that does small (around 5 x 2 cm or thereabouts) GTE stickers. A few places might be willing to do me a "batch" but I don't want (and can't afford) to order something like 100 of the things. I'd like a few subtle GTE badges/decals stuck in the interior, but sadly the poor, unfairly-maligned GTE is not very well supported when it comes to things like (blue) trim bits and decals. I know it's a (much) less popular car than the GTI/D/R so there are fewer bits out there, but I'm hoping someone might knew where to get GTE stuff from. Thanks.

Exceptional Golf Tour

My husband & I have just returned from Queenstown NZ with Voyages golf. Our experience was exceptional, from airport pick, amazing golf courses and functions. This family run business is truly one of the best tours we have been on, they are well organised and treat everyone like family. I would highly recommend their tours and we will certainly travel with them in the future. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Queenstown Golf Week 2024

Our Queenstown Golf Week 2024 was our 3rd trip with Voyages and we have at least two more booked. From the first email to the final goodbye Voyages are exemplary in every aspect. No detail was overlooked and they make you feel so very welcome. The accomodation at the Crowne Plaza was great - perfect central location... the golf courses at Jack's Point and Millbrook were outstanding and our day trip to Walter's Peak was amazing...superb BBQ buffet. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Voyages if you want to experience a great golf trip.

Voyages Golf New Zealand Week

I had a memorable week in Queenstown playing golf with Glenn, Gayle and Harry from Voyages Golf. They had everything organised to perfection with bus transfers, golf bag storage and great golf courses. They even turned on good weather for the week to add to the enjoyment

Thanks so much for joining us in Queenstown Virgil. We had a great time and are happy you enjoyed it too. Kind regards, Harry & the team at Voyages.golf

First time but not the last!

I booked with this company for the first time and was a little hesitant as I was travelling alone, but all my fears disappeared as soon as I met our hosts. Everything went to plan and I could not have felt more welcome. All that was promised was delivered, and more! I am looking forward to doing more trips with them. Thank you Harry, Gayle and Benn

Hi Di, Thanks so much for travelling with us. Singles are always welcome on our tours & we understand it can be a little daunting at first. We're so glad you decided to join us & hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Harry & the team.

Excellent golf trip

We joined voyages.golf on the 2023 trip to Fiji and had a fabulous week. All the activities were so well organised - everything we needed seemed to just quietly appear - transfers, bags, carts, food which made for an incredibly enjoyable and relaxing experience. Another thing we really appreciated was the detailed communication before the trip and Harry's responsiveness to specific questions we had. If you go, don't skip the midweek cruise to Tivua island, it's a real highlight!

Thanks so much for leaving this review Claudia. We had a fantastic time meeting you and can't thank you enough for coming with us to Fiji this year. Kind regards, Harry & The Team

Voyages Fiji Golf Holiday 2023

Our Voyages Golfing Holiday in Fiji was one of the most relaxing, well organised trips we have ever done. The Voyages Team organised everything down to the tee. The venue at the Sheraton Fiji at Denarau was magnificent with everything catered for, and the golf courses we played, Denarau Island and Natadola Bay were exceptional, and lets not forget the brilliant day trip to Tivua Island where everyone relaxed and enjoyed the Fiji hospitality and weather. Thank you Harry, Gayle and Glenn - from Dave & Susie Smith

Date of experience : August 25, 2023

Hi Dave & Susie, thanks so much for coming to Fiji Golf Week with us. We had a blast and we're glad you did too. Such a pleasure to meet you both & taking the time to write this review. Take care and until next time! Voyages.golf.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our Fiji…

While we thoroughly enjoyed our Fiji golf week I would like to offer the following feedback. Perhaps an ambrose or 4bbb on first day at courses might add a bit of fun and less stress. Lack of eskies on buggies at Natadola Bay was very disappointing. The food and drink evenings were very generous and entertainment was wonderful! Thanks for a fabulous time!

Date of experience : September 04, 2022

Hi Jo-Anne, many thanks for your feedback. We are working with the golf courses to ensure enough cart eskies are provided for next year, as it was out of our control this year. With the format of play, we chose to do aggregate individual stableford because the majority of past guests wanted to ensure they got the most of out of their rounds. Next year we may do teams to take the stress out of ticky conditions or challenging courses. It was a pleasure to have you & Tim with us in Fiji. Kind regards, Harry Voyages.golf

Just back from our golf holiday in…voyages golf - Fiji

Just back from our golf holiday in Fiji. We couldn’t be more impressed with the hotel, the courses, the organisation of every day’s golf, excursion and island cruise. Every detail was considered and when we got off the plane our transport was waiting and were driven to our resort. The Voyages golf team made sure we were checked in quickly. On the last day at 4:30am the ‘team’ were there again to see us off. That kind act really made an amazing holiday perfect. Thank you for taking care of every detail Steve and sue

Date of experience : September 02, 2023

Thanks so much Sue and Steve for joining us in Fiji. It was such a pleasure to have you both and wish you all the best for your onward travels. Kind regards, Gayle, Glenn and Harry

Great week in Fiji with Voyages Golf

Upon meeting the Voyages Team in person you immediately liked Harry, Glenn and Gayle, as their enthusiasim and great personalities shone through straight away. Any questions that you had were answered promptly and with ease over the week and the organisation of every part of the weeks events and the venues was handled seamlessly including carrying everyones golf bags to the bus at Natadola which was no mean feat. In all I give the VG team 10 out of 10 in all areas and look forward to joining them on another great event in the future

Date of experience : August 26, 2023

Hi Wayne, it was an absolute pleasure to welcome you to our Fiji Golf Week 2023. Thanks so much for coming along and enjoying the whole experience. It means a lot to us! Looking forward to the next one! Kind regards, Harry

A delightful experience

We were booked on Voyages.golf's Tasmania Golf Cruise 2022 which was unfortunately postponed to 2023. We couldn't make the new dates due to pre-booked commitments but their timeliness, efficiency and full-heartedness compelled us to leave this review. We will definitely be contacting Team VG for our next golf trip!

Date of experience : June 06, 2022

Appreciate your review - you were a pleasure to deal with! Thanks - Team VG!

Voyages.golf was recommended by the R&A

Voyages.golf was recommended to me thru the R&A for the Open Championship. I am very pleased I chose them to handle my vacation details. They offered a great package to tie in with my Open tickets, allowing me to go about with my plans while they took care of all the details from Hotel and transfers to/from Open venue. I even added on additional vacation details which they handled and everything went off without any issues. Voyages.golf kept me up to date with all details and any changes that arose. From start to end, they were on top of all details and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested.

Date of experience : August 09, 2023

Thanks so much for choosing to travel with us Arthur. It was a pleasure to meet you & we are looking forward to to the next trip, whenever that may be! Kind regards, Harry Voyages.golf

Lack of polish and due diligence

From our perspective there was a lack of communication and due diligence. Daily updates and daily announcements of the winners should be done. the courses showed a lack of ability to deal with numbers that were expected. Natadola only having 9 esky's to deal with a large group was dangerous with the heat and purchased lunches. The cost of the lunches was excessive and not told prior to the event, $80 per person per day for ham or chicken roll and a drink of water and two pieces of fruit which was exposed to the elements was not good or expected. The accommodation was fantastic and the courses were very good once you started playing golf.

Hello John, Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry you felt there was a lack of communication. In all tournaments we have played in, the last round is never updated, as it takes away from the announcement of the winners. With a group of this size, some people wanted to leave straight away to get back to their non playing partners, or to swim, lunch elsewhere and it takes a while to record, double check and update all the results at once. We advised at the beginning that we would not be doing daily prizes but waiting for the gala dinner to announce prize winners. The best way to communicate with a group is to have sessions at a desk. These times were in your itinerary and we also added additional times which were published on the noticeboard. We saw a lot of people who had questions or just came for a chat. Natadola eskies: We totally agree there should have been eskies on each cart and we did get extra eskies from Denarau on the second day. The Club is addressing this with new carts which will be in place before next year’s event. Their facilities are starting to reopen this week with the restaurant opening, which eliminates the need for boxed lunches. This has been slow due to recruiting staff which is due to Covid – Staffing is a problem all over the world. The cost was FJD $40 per person per day, so $80 for 2 people, not per person which the hotel withdrew from your invoice, so you didn’t end up paying for any of the boxed lunches you had. For a roll, fruit, cakes sand a bottle of water (which is FJD$9) this we thought this was reasonable value. Some opted to take their own lunches and snacks – the choice was yours. The initial price was advised at the time as between $35 and $45. We are glad you enjoyed the accommodation, transfer timings and the golf courses and we hope the functions which everyone seemed to enjoy. Kind regards Voyages.golf

The whole trip was well organised and…

The whole trip was well organised and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Voyages Golf. The cruise concept really appeals to us and access to some magnificent golf courses with a highlight along with the quality of the Ship that we travelled on. Well done. We would have no hesitation travelling with Voyages Golf again.

Fun Filled Trip: The 2 Americans Hahaha

The organizers at Voyages Golf are very friendly and personable. Harry, Gale and Glen are on top of all things. They took good care of us and are always around for anything. All the people that were there for the event were so nice to us Americans. All the events were full of fun. This was our second year and we loved it and will be attending again next year. Golfing was organized really good and tour to the Tivua Island was very much full of fun and relaxing. Hats off to them for continuously putting together this experience without any hiccups. Overall, exceptional hosts, best hotel, transportation, and them attending to us. Welcome reception and final night reception was awesome with good food and drinks. Keep it up and see you next year and will bring more friends and family to this. Forgot to mention that the cost for the entire event is very reasonable. Thank you and see you next year.

Voyagers Fiji Golf Week 2023

Voyagers golf tournament in Fiji was an amazing week. Very friendly and well run. A lovely welcome night where we got to know new buddies. Four days of golf where we just had to turn up, all clubs etc there waiting for us. A nice boat trip to an Island for lunch, lovely and relaxing. The grand finale a great dinner. We will definitely be back next year. Lyn and Keith Williams

Hi Lyn & Keith, Thanks so much for coming along to Fiji Golf Week & winning the tournament! We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Kind regards, Harry Voyages.golf

Trip was perfectly planned

Trip was perfectly planned. Henry so diligent but flexible when dealing with us (an admittedly hard group to organize) and Glen was literally always available during the week for anything we needed. Couldn't have gone smoother or been more enjoyable.

The organisation was excellent, golf and accomodation were fantastic. 12 people were in the group and all had a great time . 1. Normal, Eco and Sports Mode

Feb 20, 2014. #3. R.

Posted March 19, 2016. I’m mainly using Individual with this setup: DCC - Sport (occasionally Normal) I like a firm bone crunching suspension! Steering - Sport - except Normal for some motorway treks when Sport is too twitchy. Drive â€" Sport or Normal - depending on the journey. ACC - Normal.
