Emmerdale Village Tour – how to buy tickets and vouchers with Afternoon Tea

Emmerdale village tour - how to buy tickets with a hotel stay, emmerdale village tour - how to combine with the coronation street tour, emmerdale classic tour – how to buy tickets and vouchers, emmerdale helicopter ride – how to fly over the set.

Emmerdale fans can walk in the footsteps of their favourite characters thanks to the show's official tour, which offers an exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes.

The long-running soap's location scenes are filmed in a purpose-built village on the Harewood Estate in Leeds, which for many years was closed to visitors.

That all changed in 2015 when ITV decided to show off the village as a tourist attraction on weekends, and thousands of fans have flocked to the set ever since.

The Tour makes a perfect present for fans, but how do you buy tickets and vouchers? And what other alternate Emmerdale experiences are on offer? Read on for our full guide.

Emmerdale Village Tour – how to buy tickets and vouchers

caleb, nicky and tracy robinson in emmerdale

The Emmerdale Village Tour gives lucky fans the opportunity to visit the show's outdoor set, which is used for exterior scenes in almost every episode.

Emmerdale 's busy cast and crew film on the set during the week, but the Tours take place on weekends – giving viewers the exciting opportunity to see the exterior locations for The Woolpack, the café, the local shop and many more.

Tickets are available on select weekends and must be pre-booked.

You can get the best price for a direct booking via the official Emmerdale Village Tours website . It's £35 per person for the standard version of the Tour and you select a day and time of your choosing when making the booking.

liam ella, emmerdale

The Star Tours version, which offer the chance to meet a surprise member of the cast, are available from £55 per person.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to buy tickets for someone as a present, gift vouchers are probably a better option as the lucky recipient can then choose the most convenient day and time for them when redeeming the voucher.

Purchases for gift vouchers can be made on sites like Virgin Experience Days , which offers a gift voucher for two people to enjoy the standard version of the Tour for £76.

Vouchers are valid for 12 months, offering plenty of time to plan a trip. They also include complimentary bus transfer from the designated meet-up point to the Emmerdale set.

Buy Emmerdale Village Tour for two with Afternoon Tea

If you're tempted to make your Emmerdale day extra special, there's a premium version of the Tour voucher available with a delicious extra included.

Buy A Gift has a special version of the voucher which includes access to the Tour for two people, as well as afternoon tea for two at Veeno in Leeds.

This is currently available for £115 and entitles you to focaccia bread, meats and cheeses, chocolate cake, lemon cake, scones with mascarpone, strawberry jam and a pot of tea or coffee during your visit to Veeno.

Buy Emmerdale Village Tour vouchers with a 4* Leeds hotel stay included

For those who'd like to take the Tour without worrying about getting home the same day, there's a voucher option available which includes a 4* hotel stay in Leeds.

Wonder Days has this option on offer for two people – it's £298 for one night and £439 for two nights.

A voucher option for the ultimate soap fan.

Virgin Experience Days is currently offering gift vouchers for two people, which include the Emmerdale Village Tour and the Coronation Street Experience.

This means you'll be able to explore the Emmerdale village and walk down the Corrie cobbles for £152 for two.

Emmerdale returns to Esholt for the Ashley Thomas special

Buy a voucher for the Classic Emmerdale tour for two people

If you've already taken the official Tour, or just prefer the classic episodes to the modern-day show, it's worth considering the alternate option for an exciting Emmerdale day out.

The Old Emmerdale Location Guided Tour for Two allows fans to explore the real-life village of Esholt, which was used for filming until 1996. This includes the original Woolpack pub.

The old village was also briefly featured in an episode in 2016 , which explored life through the eyes of Ashley Thomas when he was living with dementia.

This tour also takes fans on a ride around West Yorkshire to enjoy the scenery and see other locations which were used in the older episodes.

Buy A Gift has a voucher for two people at the price of £80 . Please note that this experience does not include access to the current ITV set or the locations which feature in the modern-day Emmerdale .

kim tate, emmerdale

Buy a helicopter ride for one or two

Another quirky way to celebrate your Emmerdale obsession is to take an exciting helicopter ride which includes a glimpse of the current set.

Into The Blue is currently advertising a voucher for a 45-minute helicopter tour of York.

While this experience isn't totally focused on soaps, it does include an opportunity to fly over the Harewood Estate where Emmerdale is currently filmed. This gives fans a chance to spot The Woolpack, the farm and other familiar locations.

This is available for £239 for one person or £449 for two people.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.

Emmerdale - The Tour & NEW Studio Experience breaks now on sale!

When:  Throughout the year Locations visited:  Harewood House, the Studio Experience in Leeds OR Yorkshire Dales, Esholt, Otley (previous filming locations)

Emmerdale tours   are proving to be extremely popular as fans of TV series fall in love with the characters and wish to visit the   places featured on screen. 'Emmerdale' filming location tours are no exception with thousands of people descending upon the newly opened set in the grounds of the Harewood House Estate and the former filming location in Esholt, Yorkshire. NEW for 2016, Emmerdale - The Studio Experience at which visitors can enjoy full-scale set reconstructions and more.

Emmerdale – The Tour

The new ‘ Emmerdale – The Tour ’ attraction first opened its doors to the public in 2015, allowing visitors to tread the tarmac and enjoy a fully guided tour of the fictional village. Visitors can see the stone clad homes and shops nestled amongst the rolling Yorkshire hills and see familiar haunts including Home Farm, The Woolpack, the Church and Bob’s Café.

Emmerdale – The Studio Experience

In 2016, the Emmerdale Studio Experience  openined, allowing fans to get even closer to their favourite soap. The tour allows visitors to enjoy full-scale set reconstrictions, hear about past storylines and tales from behind the scenes and more.

Emmerdale Filming Location Tours

Original location filming of 'Emmerdale' took place in the village of   Arncliffe in Littondale   which is one of the less visited valleys of the   Yorkshire Dales . In 1976, as more and more people began to realise where filming took place, they decided to move to   Esholt where it remained for 22 years. This beautiful village soon became a tourist attraction with fans from all over the world descending on Esholt to see the villages and to have a drink in the village pub which was formerly The Commercial Hotel and was renamed   The Woolpack Inn . Esholt is one of the many places you will visit when you join an 'Emmerdale' filming location tour, where if there is time, you can have a drink in The Woolpack.

The majority of location footage also takes place in areas of West Yorkshire such as the   fictional market town of 'Hotten'   which is actually shot in   Otley  located on the outskirts of Leeds.  The beautiful town of Otley is another location that you will be able to visit on   'Emmerdale' filming location tours . Since 1998, filming for 'Emmerdale' takes place on a   purpose-built closed set on the Harewood Estate.

Tours start from only £119 per person   and each 'Emmerdale' filming location tour package includes: return coach travel, accommodation, meals and an exciting touring itinerary.

Emmerdale Miniguide

By’eck Ma, it’s parky out! What you need to know about your ‘Emmerdale’ Location Tour

What do I wear? You will predominantly be exploring the countryside so good footwear is a necessity. You may also need waterproofs, maybe wellies and warm clothing unless you visit when the British weather is behaving itself!

What to take with you? A camera so you can take snaps of yourself by the various famous locations. A brolly just in case the heavens open.

Will I be visiting the actual set? Unfortunately, as filming now takes place on a closed set, you will be visiting the original locations dotted around West Yorkshire such as the market towns of Otley and Esholt.

What will I see on the tour? Most of the outdoor filming of ‘Emmerdale’ took place in Esholt between 1976 and 1996. ‘The Woolpack’ and surrounding cottages are still instantly recognisable. You’ll then continue to Otley which featured as ‘Hotton’ in the TV series. Most tours also feature visits to Holmfirth (the setting for ‘Last of the Summer Wine’) and Goathland which was used as ‘Aidensfield’ in ‘Heartbeat’.

Will there be opportunities to explore? You will have the chance to get off the coach on several occasions to stretch your legs, take pictures and see the locations up close.

Are there any catering facilities? There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes in both Otley and Esholt. You can also nip into the Inn formerly ‘The Woolpack’ for a pint if there is time. Should you wish, you could also pack a small picnic if you’re looking to save some pennies!

Can I take photos? Yes you can but those that are taken must be for personal use only.

When is the best time to visit? With the Dales it is the luck of the draw where the weather is concerned, it could snow, rain or be brilliant sunshine – you can never tell! April/May are nice months to visit as spring is in full bloom. Summer should be hot & sunny but it can also be a washout. Might be best to avoid autumn & winter as the weather really does turn nasty!

What if I am in a wheelchair? There is a fair amount of walking required especially if you wish to explore the locations featured in ‘Emmerdale’. The Yorkshire Dales can be quite uneven so if you’re unsteady on your pins, it might be best to avoid this tour or remain on the coach when others are exploring.

National Holidays Trip

Came with national holidays who organised the trip excellently. If you like Emmerdale it is a must-see trip. Steve was a great host, very informative, funny and friendly. Gave a lot of detail on the buildings, things you wouldn't know unless you came. Overall, brilliant.

A short bus journey from the pickup point, no private cars allowed at the attraction. We were taken round the village by a guide called Natalie, she was a fountain of information, very friendly and answered all our questions. We visited all the houses and Natalie told us about present and past inhabitants of them all. We were fortunate that the weather was good, if weather not so good you will need an umbrella. Be aware the Stables pub (pickup point) is not scheduled to open until 12:00, although the day we went it opened at 11:30 am. The pickup bus was ready before the pickup time and left approx 15 mins after the meeting time. We had a very good day. In the bus car park was a small caravan selling drinks snacksd and a few momentoes, eg mugs, fridge magnets pencils etc.

First of all the location they pick you up from is really nice & a good place to have a drink before you set off. The actual location is set in the sticks & when you see it you will think it's a village that has stood for ages. It hasn't but it's great to see all the houses, shops etc in the village & get photos outside them. The tour guide Natalie was really approachable & gave many nuggets of information. The merchandise was over priced, but this is expected of all places like this. Do not expect to go inside the building much, as they are not set up for that. Would definitely recommend.

Was surprised with this today by my birthday by my husband we love the show and was fantastic walking through the village seen the vet house going into the church graveyard our tour guide was Natalie and she was 5 star rating friendly answered everyone questions and asked everyone questions def recommend this and even bought a David's shop bag

national holidays emmerdale tour

This tour was excellent. Our guide Natalie was informative, professional and very friendly. Lots of information and lots of opportunity to take photos around the village. My friend and I really enjoyed this Emmerdale experience. We stayed at Weetlyhall and were picked up at 10.30am for the 11.30am tour. It took around 29 minutes to get there then we had time to visit the shop/van that sold refreshments and memorabilia etc. Great tour. Thank you Natalie. Went on to the studio tour in the afternoon which was a total disappointment so please don't waste your money there!!

I have been watching this wonderful soap since 16th October 1972. This was my second visit first one was 20 years ago, so a lot has changed. This time I went with Newmarket coaches, our tour guide was Caroline, she had done a lot of research into Emmerdale and kept us amused with questions and information. Caroline was a really lovely lady who took great care of us all. Anyone who goes on trips with her are very lucky people. Our driver was JOHN, he was outstanding too. Our first stop was at Esholt where Emmerdale was first filmed, we had a relaxing drink in the woolpack at a very reasonable price. Once again really nice friendly people. Also popped over the road to the old post offfice to pick up a few bits! Followed by a quick walk round the beautiful village with an outstanding church. Then on to our Hotel Jury's in Bradford. Good hotel nice food and very pentiful . Lovely helpful waitress, I can't remember her name but just in case she reads this she had just moved into a flat with her boyfriend who also worked at the hotel. Sunday started with the Emmerdale Studio Experience our guide was fleur we had our photo taken behind the Woolpack and it only costed £10.00 for 2 photos! Bargain! The studio was excellent, the wedding dresses looked even better than on the TV. There was also items on show belonging to actors and actresses that had passed away. Tissue time. Finally we went to Harewood Estate, where the village has been built, oh my goodness how beautiful. Our guide Natalie took us around the village explaining who lived at what house and what the houses are really used for storage, makeup etc. Some of the houses are used as sets. All the dwelling around the outside of the village was explained to us.The purpose-built TV set fun! So if you get the chance to take this trip, do it, it is worth every penny.

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

I went on the holiday of a lifetime aged 30 – but everyone else there was a pensioner

Amelia Harvey on holiday with her mum, lots of mountain/lake scenery in the background

My mother and I were sitting in the open restaurant of a lodge in Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya .

Kilimanjaro was hidden behind a low cloud. We were waiting to set off for another afternoon safari when suddenly, an adult elephant peered over the back fence.

Pointing in delight, we sat and watched it in silence as it continued to nose around, waving its trunk. inquisitively.

It felt like a moment in a movie, which was pretty apt as I’d spent our whole dream holiday feeling like I’d stumbled into the starring role of a comedy film.

At the age of 30, I found myself on a Saga holiday to Kenya and Tanzania.

It had always been my mother’s dream to travel to Africa. She wanted to see wild animals in their natural habitat since she watched Born Free and Daktari as a kid. But, for one reason or another, she’d never made it there.

Then, in 2023, thanks to her retirement and me becoming my own boss, we were finally in a position to book it.

Amelia Harvey with a lion in the background

For almost a year, Mum searched for the best value-for-money trips that visited all the places she had dreamed of seeing, before ultimately landing on Titan Travel’s ‘The Great Migration Tour’.

The Titan Travel package included everything we wanted, including visits to Amboseli National Park, which is known for its elephants; Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and its elephant orphanage, where we’d see young elephants being bottle fed, and The Olduvai Gorge, which is referred to as the cradle of civilisation.

The trip also included the Masai Mara and the Serengeti , where we could see the Big Five and enjoy African wildlife and nature.

The accommodation was luxury camping and lodges so we’d have an authentic experience in comfort – perfect for Mum, who has some health concerns and couldn’t spend 10 days on a blow-up camping bed.

With our excitement brewing, we wasted no time in paying our deposit – though, in hindsight, I wish I’d paid more attention to the Saga logo at the bottom of the payment form.

Saga, for those that don’t know, offers exclusive holidays for those over-50 – although companions over 40 are welcome, too.

I remember thinking it was strange that their logo would be associated with this tour, which seemed to be for everyone. But a quick Google search explained that, though Titan Travel had been bought out by Saga back in 2009, the two companies still operated separate tours, so I thought nothing more of it.

Before I knew it, November 2023 arrived, and Mum and I were headed for Africa.

When we arrived at Nairobi airport, our tour guide was waiting for us amidst the sea of tour operators and hotel pickups. He was easy to identify thanks to the Titan Travel sign he held – though somewhat confusingly, the other side of his sign said ‘Saga’.

I reasoned that, as the logo had featured on all the paperwork, it was just another way for folks to identify this as their trip.

But as our group of 16 slowly began to gather, I realised that, at 30 , I was the only person under 60 on the trip.

Some people explained that they’d noticed the trip was available through both companies and weren’t too bothered that younger people may be included.

Amelia Harvey having a drink with her mother on the trip – they're sitting at a table outside on grass with lots of trees in the background

But others critically eyed my nose ring and tattoos, as well as Mum’s wonderfully pink hair.

Things didn’t exactly get better from there, either.

At the hotel, the receptionist asked if I was part of the Saga group during check-in. When I reluctantly confirmed that I was, they must have presumed I was the tour guide as, giving a kindly smile to Mum, they gave me the keys and the paperwork.

And I cringed later on that night as I made my way to the long, pre-assigned dinner table with a large Saga sign on it.

I hadn’t really known who to expect on this Titan Travel trip when it came to my fellow travellers. I knew safaris were often associated with ‘retirement holidays’ – and I knew it wasn’t going to be full of twenty-somethings partying all night – but I thought we might be a little more mixed, age-wise.

That first night, I felt like I was at a job interview , rather than making small talk on holiday.

I was quizzed about how I could afford the holiday, why I was travelling with my mother, and why I had chosen not to marry and have children .

I could tell many in our group immediately were wary of me, and I had to prove to them I wasn’t a petulant teenager, or the drinking-and-dancing stereotype often depicted in Ibiza weekender horror stories.

Selfie of Amelia Harvey in a bathroom

I could see the shock on their faces when they found out I read classic literature, was well-travelled and listened to music from the 60s.

Of course, the main question was whether I knew I would be on a Saga holiday with an older demographic. ‘Definitely not!’ I assured them.

However, everyone on the trip had to overcome their judgements of the others to get along, and the more I spoke directly to people, the more they warmed to me as a fellow traveller and I saw their fun, jovial sides coming through.

Once home, my friends asked me how my holiday had been. ‘Well, it turns out that turning 30 has some unexpected side effects,’ I laughed. ‘You can even go on a Saga holiday.’

But in all seriousness, I messaged Titan Travel, expressing my disappointment at the lack of warning about the trips. I’d already combed through both companies’ pages, and nowhere on the marketing material did it indicate that the two tours would be combined.

I’d also spoken to our tour guide before we left, who confirmed we were not the first travellers to find themselves accidentally on a Saga tour. On the tour before us, a couple had been similarly grouped with people decades older than them.

Titan Travel did respond, saying that ‘although Saga customers are now travelling with those who have booked with us, the tour provided by both brands is highly complementary, and there should be minimal impact on the level of service provided’.

Amelia Harvey on the SAGA holiday with elephants in the background

It felt pretty dismissive to me. While I didn’t want any compensation, they didn’t seem to want to acknowledge that they hadn’t been totally upfront in their marketing. It just leaves other people open to taking a trip that is wrong for them.

Granted, accidentally ending up on a Saga tour didn’t affect my enjoyment of the trip.

I’ll never forget seeing wildlife in their natural habitat and the thrill of seeing my mother finally live out her dream.

It was incredible to look out of our hotel room’s bathroom window and see a zebra grazing. Nothing will spoil that.

Yet, we could have avoided a few awkward dinners, and it would have allowed Mum and I to relax and enjoy every moment from the off, if we’d been made aware.

Still, at least I’ve learnt that you are never too old to go on an adventure.

Jason Manford adds 52 extra dates to his upcoming UK tour

Comedian Jason Manford has added a huge 52 extra dates for his anticipated A Manford All Seasons UK tour. Here's how to secure pre-sale tickets this week.

Back in October, comedian Jason Manford announced he was returning to the stand-up circuit with his brand new show, A Manford All Seasons, in 2024 and 2025.

It was revealed last autumn that the UK tour would stop at some of this country’s biggest entertainment venues, such as The London Palladium, Blackpool Opera House and First Direct Arena in Leeds, as well as Manchester’s brand-new 23,500 capacity Co-op Live (Manford is actually the first comic to be announced for this new northern venue).

If your hometown venue wasn't on the original line-up of shows, don't fear, Manford has added a whopping 52 extra dates to his A Manford All Seasons tour!

In 2005, the Salford born comedian was nominated for the coveted Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and in 2006, he joined team captain Dave Spikey on Channel 4’s comedy series, 8 Out Of 10 Cats. Manford was then invited to join as a team captain in 2007.

Since then, Manford has appeared on the stage and television alike. He’s toured the UK with his stand-up shows Turning Into My Dad, First World Problems, Muddle Class, and Like Me. He’s also taken part in Channel 4’s Comedy Gala, presented BBC One's First & Last, and ITV's What Would Your Kid Do?, and even performed on ITV’s The Masked Singer as a hedgehog.

To see Manford live on stage (probably not as a hedgehog), here's how to get tickets.

Where is Jason Manford touring in 2024?

When speaking about his upcoming tour, Manford said: "People ask me what my favourite job is, acting, presenting, musicals etc. I love them all, but my favourite is still the privilege of doing stand-up comedy.

"It’s just me, you, a microphone and a cracking venue. No cameras, no director, no viewing figures and no Ofcom! I can’t wait to see you again and have a good laugh at this mad world, it feels like it's been ages."

What are the new Jason Manford UK tour dates?

Back in October 2023, the 42-year-old announced UK tour dates from 10th November 2024 until 24th October 2025. Now, the comedian has added 52 extra dates, and we've included the ones starting from 25th September 2024 until 9th November 2024.

As there are still tickets left for the first tour announcement, we've included all dates and venues in one neat list below.
