The Park Güell Tour

The vibrant colors, mystical style, and eclectic artistry make Gaudi’s work truly exceptional. Park Güell is sprawled out like its own private island in the city. Its elevation and height offer dazzling views of the Mediterranean Sea.  This park combines the beauty of Gaudi’s work and the tranquility of a green park all rolled into one magnificent place.  When it was constructed between 1900-1914 by the most famous contemporary architect Antoni Guadí, the park was on the northern end of Barcelona.

Guadi Park

As you enter the park, you will pass the colorful pavilion with its naturally round forms and the typically tiled and shaped roof. Amongst these fine elements of the street are beautiful works of Guadí. Casa Batiló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera) are timeless works that are enchanting to the eye.

All Barcelona Highlights Tour 8res 1

Casa Batiló Guided Tour    Casa Batiló is not just a building, but also an artistic legend; a calm sea is reflected by an outstanding façade. Opening the curtain of this façade reveals a world of architectural details and other attractive elements. The apartment building enchants visitors with its remarkable design and the vast repertoire of visual solutions employed. In every corner with the support of your guide, you will discover something surprising. Each detail is fascinating and imaginative.    The tour includes a visit to the legendary Noble Floor (it used to be the home of the Batlló family), the Attic (it was used by the residents as a store and laundry room), and the Rooftops and Chimneys.    The Chimneys present the well-known spine of the multi-colored dragon killed by St Georges. Revel in the magnificent lobby, main staircase, and light well (it used to be the main staircase for the rest of the neighbors). The experience replicates how you would feel walking through a fairytale.    The Magical World of Casa Batlló will stir your imagination with the metaphors and representation of nature, in particular the sea, which will inspire you and stimulate your senses and emotions.  An explosion of colours and forms as well as the splendid examples of the decorative arts of the epoch show how dedicated Gaudí was to his craft. An immersion in modernity, enigmatic forms, the interpretation of a dream, a Mediterranean marvel, a place of innovation and new concepts, this structure is a place for reflecting on the capabilities of art and design.  Casa Batlló is all this and more. It is no surprise that UNESCO declared Casa Batlló a World Heritage site in 2005.

Sagrada Familia 3746024 960 720

The jewel in the crown of Gaudí’s works, the temple is a synthesis of his overall conception of architecture. The richness of detail and its significance need explaining to appreciate this fascinating and extraordinary building in full.   Gaudí wanted the temple to be financed voluntarily by the people, not by taxes or funding, and that’s just what your entrance fees do (included in our tour price): finance the completion of this triumph in architecture, which he began building in 1882.   Although you may find it hard to imagine anything more beautiful than you have seen, your mind is about to be blown. The Sagrada Familia is on another level; viewing it for the first time is an experience you will never forget.  Be delighted by the infinite elements of the building and museum and compare the contrasting styles of the Birth and Passion façades. This tour saves the best for last and the Sagrada Familia is just as significant as it is striking.   Duration: Departure 9:00 am – Return 12:30h   Operating: Every day   Prices:   Adults: 79,00€   Children (3-12 years): 39,00€

One of the wonderful attributes of Barcelona is that with every drive, walk, etc. there is never a dull moment. This city is truly jam-packed with gorgeous scenery.

We will arrive at the Plaza de Cataluña, the starting point of the guided walking tour of the old city center.

The guide leads the way to the Cathedral Square, through the narrow street of the Gothic quarter, and to Plaza Sant Jaume where the City Hall is located as well as the headquarters of the Catalonian government.

Our tour finishes at the Plaza de Cataluña, in front of the Hard Rock Café. This is about a 10-minute walk from our office.

Montserrat tour:

01 April – 31 October: departure at 3.00 pm. Check-in at 2.45 pm at Julià Travel Office, c/Balmes 5

01 November – 31 March: departure at 2.30 pm. Check-in at 2.15 pm in Julià Travel Office, c/Balmes 5

A comfortable Bus will take you to the mountain of Montserrat, a jagged mountain climbing up 4,051 feet (1,236 meters).

The rocks of Montserrat were formed by natural cement of sand during the centuries. The wind and rain shaped the mountain with strange and varied forms.

Creative imaginations see human or animal shapes in some of these peaks, giving those names and inventing legends to explain their fantastic origins.

Montserrat Awesome

This trip to Montserrat will allow you to enjoy the wonderful and breathtaking views of Montserrat Mountain, one of nature’s special creations amongst tranquility and beauty.

You will go up to Montserrat with the Cog-Wheel Train. This will drop you in the middle of the Monastery. It is a 15-minute trip with a privileged and spectacular view of the mountain.

The train has panoramic windows, making the actual journey a delight for the senses. The train is air-conditioned as well as wheelchair-friendly.

You will visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th-century Romanesque carving of Verge Moreneta (the Black Madonna). This famous statue of the Black Madonna is visible from a distance.

The Benedict Sanctuary of Montserrat was founded in 1025 and provides a mystical backdrop for the Virgin of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalonia, who is enshrined in the monastery’s Royal Basilica.

The little monastery soon began to receive pilgrims and visitors who spread the word of the miracles and wonders performed by the Virgin. Word of mouth led to more and more pilgrims visiting Montserrat.

Today, Montserrat has been modernized to continue attending to the needs of pilgrims, one thousand years after it was originally founded.

You will be given free time to visit the audiovisual exhibition about the history and creation of Montserrat and taste typical liquors of Montserrat, handmade by the monks of the monastery (both activities are included).

General Tips, Recommendations, and Advice

While Barcelona has a warm, balmy climate it is still adjacent to the sea, which means weather can sometimes be unpredictable. When it does rain, it rains in full tropical style. Although it is unlikely, we recommend having a layer or two just in case. If it is the summer, you have much less to worry about.

If you are doing a tour that includes Montserrat Mountain, definitely bring layers regardless of the season. The weather on the mountain tends to change swiftly.

Wear sunscreen! The sun in Barcelona is strong. Even if you are enjoying a lovely sea breeze, the sun can still burn your skin. It is best to be cautious and not battle a painful sunburn!

Beautiful Barcelona

Wear comfortable shoes. Barcelona is an old city full of charming cobblestone streets and lovely historic districts. Comfortable shoes are essential for the walking tours offered on this list. On the Montserrat tour, you will be walking on a mountain. Sneakers are a great choice.

Make a “must-see” list for your trip. This list will help you navigate our article, as many tours are offered and it can be hard to narrow down which ones you are most interested in.

In addition to your “must-see” list, try to have an open mind for tours and landmarks that weren’t on your radar. Sometimes the most memorable experiences happen out of spontaneity and an open mind.

Did you know?

One fun fact about Barcelona City Tours is that they often include visits to the “Superblocks.” These are innovative urban planning projects aimed at creating pedestrian-friendly zones within the city. In these areas, several city blocks are interconnected, and traffic is restricted to the perimeter, making the interior streets car-free or significantly reduced in traffic. Superblocks are designed to prioritize the well-being of residents and visitors by providing green spaces, playgrounds, outdoor seating, and cultural activities in the heart of the city. They promote a sense of community, reduce pollution, and contribute to a more sustainable and enjoyable urban environment. Exploring these Superblocks on a city tour allows you to witness Barcelona’s commitment to innovative urban planning and sustainability while enjoying a unique urban experience within the bustling city. It’s a testament to Barcelona’s progressive approach to urban design and livability.

We hope that you have gained valuable insight from this article. Acquiring knowledge about the city you are traveling to ensures that you fully enjoy the experience.

This tour was everything it was advertised to be. Good balance of tours and free time. Loved the small group. Lalo was a FANTASTIC guide. He was professional and knowledgable and at times had to be a mother, babysitter, principal and most importantly, tour guide. He plaed all these roles well - much better than I could have, that's for sure.

Before I arrived on this tour I thought my highlights would be Barcelona and San Sebastian but honestly, I enjoyed every moment of the holiday! The food and drink in this region is excellent and relatively cheap compared to the UK. You don't spend much time on the tour at the start in Barcelona or at the end in Madrid so I would recommend booking at least an extra night pre/post tour to be able to both great cities. Pamplona has a nice historical old town with some nice walks. San Sebastian is just the place to go to for foodies but is also a nice place in its own right! Logrono is the capital of the La Rioja region so you know you'll get to taste some good wine. I will definitely be coming back to this region! For the tour overall, I felt that we didn't really need 2 nights in Logrono and could have done with either an extra night in San Sebastian to visit Bilbao or a night in Bilbao itself. And that's taking into account the included evening tour of Logrono and the winery tour activities. Beware the 4hr + coach journey from Logrono to Madrid. Our tour leader, Maria Christina did a great job considering that she had to take over at short notice. She organised all our public transport and organised the optional meals, selecting some very decent restaurants. I definitely think she made the trip more enjoyable! I had great fun on this trip and hopefully have made some good friends for life!

For my first tour. I really enjoyed the tour. Ofelia was our tour guide and she was with us the whole time if we needed anything. It was nice having someone there with us. We really enjoyed the places that were in the itinerary and the overall experience. I would highly recommend this tour. I felt the hotels at each location were good. I would recommend doing the flamenco shows. Con: The only thing that could have been better was the food, but all the activities and accommodations were great, which made up for it.

Juan the driver was an amazing driver, he took us everywhere safely, I don't know how he can park that large bus. The hotels were nice, clen, the breakfast's were good, and the city guides were knowledgeable, they know the history very well. It was a tour the I learned about Spain a lot. Wonderful experience

What people love about Barcelona Tours

The itinerary was good; liked the fact that we had a lot of time on our own and that we had the same hotel at least 2 nights in a row. Did not like the fact that we had to take a public bus to our hotel with luggage in tow, and that we had to drag our luggage to various pick-up stops. We have not experienced that on prior tours. The day in Cordoba was poorly planned, leaving us no time to tour the city on our own as was promised. Otherwise everything was fine.
Had a wonderful time, the tour guide was very helpful and the hotels were of good standard.

'Worth all the wait': Casper Ruud secures biggest title of his career at Barcelona Open – video

Casper Ruud earned the 11th and biggest ATP Tour title of his career at the Barcelona Open as he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-5, 6-3 to lift the trophy at the clay-court ATP 500. Ruud's victory comes only seven days after Tsitsipas prevailed in the pair’s championship-match meeting in Monte Carlo. Ruud delivered a classy all-round display to clinch his first ATP Tour title of the season. The third seed converted three of six break points he earned during the match.

Bautista Agut earns 399th tour-level win at Barcelona Open

  • Copy Link copied

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Roberto Bautista Agut earned his 399th tour-level victory by defeating Roman Safiullin 6-3, 7-6 (8) in the first round of the Barcelona Open on Monday.

Bautista Agut, a former No. 9 in the world, saved a set point in the tiebreaker before triumphing after nearly two hours on the Rafa Nadal center court.

Bautista Agut, who turned 36 on Sunday, will have his first opportunity to reach the milestone 400th win against seventh-seeded Karen Khachanov on Tuesday.

Bautista Agut is trying to win his 12th ATP Tour title.

Rafael Nadal, a 12-time champion in Barcelona, will face Flavio Cobolli in his opening match on Tuesday following another injury layoff.

Qualifier Nick Hardt became the first Dominican to win an ATP match in six years after defeating Martin Landaluce 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

“It was a crazy day, obviously a very special day,” Hardt said. “I feel at home here in Barcelona. Two weeks ago, I won my first Challenger here, this week I qualified for my first ATP 500 and I just won my first Tour match in the main draw.”

American Brandon Nakashima defeated 2023 semifinalist Daniel Evans 7-6 (5), 6-2 to set up a meeting with second-seeded Andrey Rublev.

The run will kick off with a set at Primavera Sound Barcelona on June 1, followed by shows in London, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Mexico City before winding down on June 22 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Just hours after announcing the dates, the singer noted on Instagram that all the shows were already sold out .

At press time Charli had not yet announced the release date for BRAT , her sixth full-length album, though she did recently reveal that it is out this summer, contains 15 songs and is 41:23 long. The follow-up to her 2022 album Crash has been advanced by the uptempo first single, "Von Dutch."

Speaking to Billboard at this year's 2024 Women in Music event, Charli said that BRAT is a club record meant to evoke the illegal London rave scene of the early 2000s where she started performing as a 14 and 15-year-old, produced from a tight collection of sounds to create "this unique minimalism that is very loud and bold."

She also said that the album is "very direct" eschewing "metaphor and flowery lyricism" for language that is closer to the way she talks to her friends in text messages. "This record is all the things I would talk about with my friends, said exactly how I would say them. It's in ways very aggressive and confrontational, but also very conversational and personal," she said. "And not in that boring way where artists are like, ‘This is my most personal record.' To me, it feels like listening to a conversation with a friend.
