Great experience from customer service, friendly staff

When booking our holiday in Broughty ferry we found Thomas to be helpful ,knowledgeable and customer focused. He ensured he understood what we needed from the set of and discussed our booking when completed checking everything was to our requirements. Also should mention that all staff are friendly and helpful.

Fantastic service

Vicky was a great help. She was so friendly and made a fuss over our pup we were able to sit on our laps during our search. We had very specific requirements due to annual leave restrictions and she found something that ticked all our boxes under budget!

Went into the office in Broughty ferry…

Went into the office in Broughty ferry to book two cruises back to back sailing from Dundee . The second one from London I thought it would be straight forward to get the same cabin . Anna was very professional and sorted it all out for me to get the same cabin well done thanks for everything

Complicated travel made easy

The travel advisor listened to what was wanted and needed, and strived to find it for us. On this occasion, a number of options, based on our needs were offered, including stopover destinations and flight times. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and had infinite patience until we were able to make our decisions. They were also very knowledgeable about the locations and could give us local information relating to the location of hotels and attractions etc ,which helped with decision making. I will definitely use them for future holidays.

Excellent customer service at Hays Broughty Ferry

Tom at Hays in Broughty Ferry gave excellent customer service and got us our ideal holiday and saved us quite a bit off our holiday. We gave him a challenge as we were booking a holiday for ourselves in Scotland and our friends in Plymouth. He took his time and booked our holidays without any fuss or panic. Well done Tom. Hays, Broughty Ferry is excellent

As ever, all the staff are very nice, helpful and courteous. This time we were attended to by Lewis who guided us through our holiday purchase with ease and was knowledgeable when we asked questions. The Manager, Vicky, was also in attendance and as ever, gave us helpful tips re our proposed trips. We are extremely lucky in Broughty Ferry to have such a superb team.

Popped into the office in Broughty Ferry, with a view to booking a cruise and was welcomed by Vicky who talked us through a number of options, based on our preferences. Our needs were discussed and subsequently met. A cruise later in the year was booked. Very efficient and friendly service provided.

Thomas couldn't be anymore helpful if he tried, went round every option for me to keep price down & location near. Never have any issues with hays broughty ferry or dundee they go above & beyond for you. There's never a problem, staff always make you feel welcome and smiley. Would recommend hays.

Although the system had crashed due to demand the assistant gave me a good service, explaining everything well. It was no bother for her to remove the drinks package when I realised I could get complimentary tea and coffee throughout the cruise.

Complicated travel made easy

The travel advisor listened to what was wanted and needed, and strived to find it for us. On this occasion, a number of options, based on our needs were offered, including stopover destinations and flight times. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and had infinite patience until we were able to make our decisions. They were also very knowledgeable about the locations and could give us local information relating to the location of hotels and attractions etc ,which helped with decision making. I will definitely use them for future holidays.

Excellent customer service at Hays Broughty Ferry

Tom at Hays in Broughty Ferry gave excellent customer service and got us our ideal holiday and saved us quite a bit off our holiday. We gave him a challenge as we were booking a holiday for ourselves in Scotland and our friends in Plymouth. He took his time and booked our holidays without any fuss or panic. Well done Tom. Hays, Broughty Ferry is excellent

As ever, all the staff are very nice, helpful and courteous. This time we were attended to by Lewis who guided us through our holiday purchase with ease and was knowledgeable when we asked questions. Although the system had crashed due to demand the assistant gave me a good service, explaining everything well. It was no bother for her to remove the drinks package when I realised I could get complimentary tea and coffee throughout the cruise.

1st time cruisers.

Being a couple who have never cruised before we were a little bit apprehensive about taking the plunge. However, Lewis gave us the pros and cons as he saw them. Can`t recommend them enough.

We all think we can find our own holiday with the best deals on line. But it`s an absolute minefield! I was stung a few years ago by a company that made empty promises ( they phoned back to say the price had gone up, the sea view was only if you leaned right over the side of the balcony, and the double room was twin beds!) I`ve heard many consumer programmes about these cowboy companies. I would like to name them, they are familiar names! Hay`s is always reliable and their holidays are ATOL protected. I`ve booked through them several times. The most recent one was looking for winter sun. They came up with a few options. Between all of the staff they had first hand knowledge of the different possibilities! We ended up being adventurous, and thanks to Vicky we`ve got got a great value deal to savour winter sun and daylight, and the culture of Mauritius in December. We can`t wait!! Thank you, you clever people.

Great choice of holidays

Broughty Ferry active travel route: How the £18m project took shape

Work to bring the project to life has been ongoing since 2019.

The new £18m Broughty Ferry active route officially opened on Monday, much to the delight of locals who came out to celebrate.

Work on the bringing the project to life began in 2019 with a series of of feasibility design and engagement activities carried out to canvas opinions.

And between autumn and winter of 2019/2020, around 600 people provided feedback on the draft concept designs.

Funding for the project – initially expected to cost £9m – was then successfully secured from active travel charity Sustrans in 2020.

In 2021, initial works were carried out at the Balmossie to Seven Arches link path and lighting was installed at the Stannergate to Douglas Terrace shared path.

However, it wasn’t until a year later that major works from Broughty Castle to Monifieth got under way.

A section of Broughty Ferry Esplanade was shut in August 2022 for around seven months whilst Dundee’s first fully segregated cycle path, as well as a new walkway, were built.

And in March last year, the Dighty Burn bridge at Balmossie was shut for major works as part of the active travel route.

A new 5 metre-wide footbridge was built over the burn to alleviate what a common bottleneck.

The works also included adding a new five metre-wide path that continues along to the Dighty Burn from Broughty Ferry Esplanade

The bridge was officially opened with a ceremony in March.

Further work then began on the last link of the upgraded path between Castle Green and Mill Street.

That phase was completed earlier this year and the travel route was officially opened with a special ribbon cutting ceremony on May 6 .

A series of art works have also been commissioned for the Broughty Ferry active travel route, including three bronze dolphins which were erected near the beach in January.

The dolphins were named Dooker, Haar and Brochtie after a competition asking members of the public for suggestions.

And just last month, a new structure appeared on The Esplanade, close to Barnhill Rock Garden.

Created by artists Lee Simmons – who is also behind the whale sculpture at the Dundee waterfront – it has been described as “a silhouette of human form in motion.”
