Trans-Siberian Orchestra Announce Massive 2021 Winter Tour Dates
Yes the summer heat is still sweltering, but the Christmas season is just around the corner and that means its time for Trans-Siberian Orchestra to fire up their jaw-dropping live show once again. The band just announced their massive slate of 2021 tour dates as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark Christmas Eve and Other Stories album.
The band will kick off the eye-and-ear catching run Wednesday, Nov. 17 with performances in Green Bay and Council Bluffs, with plans to hit 59 cities with 99 performances before wrapping their annual touring on Dec. 30 in Cleveland and St. Louis. All of this year's tour dates can be viewed below.
TSO’s Music Director and lead guitarist Al Pitrelli says, “After an incredibly trying year for everyone we are beyond excited to be able to say that we’re bringing Christmas Eve and Other Stories back to all of you. We were amazed by the turnout for last year's livestream and how many of you continued to celebrate this tradition we have created together. It’s been 25 years since Paul (O’Neill) first introduced all of us to this timeless tale. Let’s celebrate this milestone event together. God bless and stay safe everyone.”
A product of the vision and imagination of TSO’s late founder/composer/lyricist Paul O’Neill, Christmas Eve and Other Stories follows a story set on Christmas Eve when a young angel is sent to Earth to bring back what is best representative of humanity. Following favorite TSO themes of “strangers helping strangers” and “the kindness of others,” Christmas Eve and Other Stories takes listeners all over the world to help reunite a young girl with her distraught father.
The album and tour feature such fan-favorites as “Ornament,” "Promises To Keep," "This Christmas Day," "O’ Come All Ye Faithful," "Good King Joy,” and the epic “Old City Bar.” The rock opera also features such TSO classics as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24." Additionally, the tour will enjoy a second set containing some of TSO’s greatest hits and fan-pleasers including "Christmas Canon,” “Wizards In Winter” and many more.
TSO remains one of rock’s most charitable bands. As with recent years, TSO will give at least $1 from every ticket sold to charity. To date, approximately $16 million has been donated by the group.
Pre-sales for TSO fan club members will be held next Thursday and Friday (Sept. 9 and 10) at 10AM local time. Additional pre-sales will take place the following Monday (Sept. 13) and Thursday (Sept. 16) both at 10AM local time. The general public on sale starts on Friday, Sept. 17 at 10AM. local time. news hard rock heavy metal trans-siberian orchestra
Multi-platinum, progressive rock group, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), today announced its highly-anticipated Winter Tour will be back for 2021. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the group’s landmark album Christmas Eve And Other Stories, this year’s multi-sensory extravaganza kicks off on Wednesday, November 17th with performances in Green Bay and Council Bluffs, and will visit 59 cities for 99 performances across America before concluding on Thursday, December 30th in Cleveland and St. Louis (see full itinerary below and www.trans-siberian.com).
Certified 3X platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling three million copies in the US, Christmas Eve And Other Stories is one of the best-selling Christmas albums of all time. Including the mega-hit "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24," the album spawned the bring-the-whole-family rock holiday tradition that has now played to more than 17 million fans all across the nation.
Pre-sales for TSO fan club members will be held on Thursday, September 9 at 10 AM, local time and Friday, September 10 at 10 AM, local time. Additional pre-sales will be on Monday, September 13 and Thursday, September 16, both at 10 AM, local time. General public on sale is set to begin on Friday, September 17 at 10 AM, local time. TSO’s Music Director & lead guitarist Al Pitrelli said, “After an incredibly trying year for everyone we are beyond excited to be able to say that we’re bringing Christmas Eve And Other Stories back to all of you. 'It's about hope': Trans-Siberian Orchestra bringing 'Christmas Eve' back on tour for 2021
Here's one sure sign that the live concert industry is returning back to business as usual: Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the beloved seasonal arena rock ensemble, is returning to the road.
The band's 2021 tour kicks off on Wednesday, Nov. 17, with shows in both Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, with an itinerary that includes 99 shows in 59 cities before wrapping up on Thursday, Dec. 30, with performances in Cleveland and St. Louis.
"Obviously, it isn’t exactly like in years past," said drummer Jeff Plate. "We still have COVID hanging over our heads and we’ve got to be very cautious and be smart about all of this, but everybody’s just so excited about getting back to work and doing what we do."
This weekend's area dates include Friday, Nov. 19, at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania; Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania; and Sunday, Nov. 21, at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
Merry and bright: Drive-through holiday light displays in NJ, NY and PA you don't want to miss this season
The tour continues Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York, followed by: Friday, Dec. 17, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia; Saturday, Dec. 18, at the UBS Arena in Belmont, New York; Sunday, Dec. 19, at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo; Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the Prudential Center in Newark; and Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
The band plays both evening and matinee shows in Hershey, Wilkes Barre, Philadelphia, Bellmont, Allentown, Newark and Pittsburgh, and just evening shows at the other area engagements.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra is touring in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the band's triple-platinum-selling 1996 debut album, "Christmas Eve and Other Stories."
The album is well-known to TSO fans, as the band toured it for a dozen holiday seasons starting in 1999, brought it back to the road in 2019 , and presented it as a streaming concert event in 2020 .
More holiday shows: Sarah Brightman, Darlene Love, TSO and more coming to New Jersey
Boasting the signature single "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)," the work of late TSO founder, composer and lyricist Paul O'Neill, who died in 2017, bears a particular contemporary resonance thanks to its message of hopeful resilience in the face of adversity.
“It’s about hope. It’s about getting through some dark times. It’s about (how) people are alone at Christmas time, people have faith at Christmas time," said Plate. "All of this connects with everybody ... "

Rosatom to survey contaminated areas near Elektrostal plant
!{Model.Description}
Russia’s Rosatom on 22 June signed a state contract with VNIPIpromtekhnologii to conduct a radiation survey in 2021 of three legacy radiation-contaminated areas in the Moscow Region, which adjoin the site of the Mashinostroitelny Zavod (MSZ) in Elektrostal (part of the TVEL Fuel Company). The survey aims to obtain up-to-date and reliable information about the radiation situation in the three areas. The total survey area is some 582,000 square metres and the results of the work, including recommendations on the observation regime for the objects located in this territory, will be presented no later than 30 October.
MSZ currently produces nuclear fuel for Rosatom’s fleet of reactors as well as for some NPPs in Europe. However, from the late 1940s to the mid 1950s, at plant No 12 (the predecessor of MSZ), work was carried out to process imported uranium ores. The ores were initially stored along the railway tracks running south of the industrial site of the plant, resulting in contamination.
At another site, radioactive contamination is a consequence of the collapse in 1953 of a tailings dam. From 1950, the tailing dump was used to store waste from the production activities of the enterprise. The third small area with a radiation anomaly is near the village of Subbotino and was decontaminated in 2016 as part of the implementation of the programme activities of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Radon. The content of radionuclides in the soil was reduced to levels corresponding to the radiation safety requirements for land plots for the construction of residential houses, buildings and structures for public and industrial purposes. The radioactive waste (some 10 cubic metres) was sorted, packed and prepared for shipment for processing, conditioning and temporary storage.
