Predaking (Prime)

From Transformers Wiki

PredaconPrimeLogo.png

Predaking is a Decepticon -created beast, created from the CNA of his predecessor and brought to life by Shockwave's science. Originally, Megatron had expected this supposedly simple-minded dragon to follow his orders without question, but Predaking has shown that he is far more than meets the optic sensor. Since revealing his possession of a robot mode , Predaking has made it plain that he is as intelligent as any of Megatron's forces, with a sense of warrior's pride and no shortage of ambition. While he has repeatedly professed his loyalty to his lord and master, Megatron has taken note of his ambition to lead a resurrected Predacon race, not to mention his lofty self-imbued title. While the Decepticon ranks have held many an ambitious up-and-comer with an eye for mastery, Predaking may be the first one Megatron has legitimately feared. The last surviving member of his kind may be the most powerful being on planet Earth.

Tales of the Beast Hunters

Predaking's presence was so frightening that the Autobots began hunting for ways to combat him. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 1 With the news that a couple of Autobots were heading for a derelict starship in the asteroid belt , Megatron and Predaking set out to intercept them. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 2 They successfully found the derelict and interrupted Bumblebee and Wheeljack looting it for gear. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 4 Though the two villains initially had the upper hand, Optimus Prime arrived Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 5 and managed to hold off Predaking long enough for the other two Autobots to escape. As the ship exploded, Predaking saw Megatron plunge through the floor. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 6 He returned to the Nemesis and reported their leader's apparent demise to the other Decepticons, who immediately blamed Starscream . Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 7

Predaking went out hunting for Optimus Prime, and soon found his prey searching for him in the desert. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 17 Though Predaking was confident he would have an easy victory, Optimus powered up one of the weapons taken from the derelict and warned his opponent that their battle was far from over. Predaking's confidence faded, and he felt fear for the first time in millions of years. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 18 The battle ended in Predaking's defeat. Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 23

Having recovered Predacon CNA , Shockwave successfully cloned one of the great beasts, storing it in his lab. He brought the creature online and took it to Earth to hunt Autobots. Scattered After Shockwave gave it a whiff of Wheeljack 's energon, it was dispatched and soon found its quarry near an energon mine. Wheeljack and Bulkhead fought the creature, first trying to blow it up with a grenade, then luring it into an explosive-laden mine in an attempt to destroy it. The beast emerged triumphant, only for Ultra Magnus to arrive in his ship and fire at it. It continued to dog the starship, clinging to the top of it until Magnus managed to knock it off by flying through a canyon. The Predacon returned to Megatron 's citadel, where Starscream reflected it was a pity it couldn't tell them why it failed. The Predacon responded by growling, rather quietly and angrily. Prey When Darkmount came under attack, the Predacon was unleashed to attack the Autobots. It began chasing Ultra Magnus's ship, but was tricked into flying through a GroundBridge to the Arctic, where it swiftly froze. Rebellion

(thumbnail)

Some time later, the temperature in the Arctic rose to a sufficient level to allow the Predacon to free itself. It swiftly tracked down the Nemesis , and Megatron decided to assign it to Starscream while Shockwave continued work on cloning more Predacons. After several hilarious attempts to make the beast compliant, Starscream was ordered to deploy it against the Autobots currently attacking one of the dig sites. The Predacon attacked Ultra Magnus, Bulkhead, and Wheeljack, eventually causing a cave-in after swatting away Wheeljack's grenade. The cave-in unearthed a Predacon optic, the sight of which awakened a vague memory in the beast. It brought the eye to Starscream, then engaged Miko Nakadai , who had acquired the Apex Armor . Overhearing Megatron's demand that the bone fragment be brought to him, the Predacon complied and left the rest to Starscream. Chain of Command

Back at the Nemesis , the Predacon responded to Starscream's continued orders with a swipe of his tail that missed the Decepticon but demolished the ship's communications array. Starscream frantically tried to fix it, eventually attempting to reboot the network by entering an override access code into a computer console. The Predacon watched him and later, when alone, it entered Starscream's access code into the computer and began to call up information on the origins and existence of Predacons. Plus One

(thumbnail)

During a tour of Shockwave's off-site laboratory, the Predacon revealed his intelligence and ability to transform to his fellow Cybertronians. He offered to lead the Predacons on Megatron's behalf as "Predaking", but Megatron was wary of giving control of an army more powerful than his own to someone else. On Starscream's advice, he arranged for the termination of the clones using the Autobots discovering the lab as a pretense. Predaking fell for the ruse, engaging Ultra Magnus and Wheeljack after they destroyed the clones. He disabled both and destroyed the Forge of Solus Prime , but was stopped from delivering the final blow by Optimus Prime. Evolution

Predaking continued to believe that once Cybertron was restored, Megatron would resurrect the rest of the Predacon race. As the Decepticons worked to repair the Omega Lock, Predaking was dispatched to Antarctica to battle the Autobots. He battled with Optimus Prime at length, and though he was almost buried under a glacier at one point, he eventually got the better of the Autobot leader and sent Prime crashing into the ground. Minus One He was prevented from finishing Optimus off when Megatron instructed him to make sure the target of the Decepticon mission was kept safe, and he had to retrieve Shockwave and a generator from the Solaris particle collider building. Back on the Nemesis , he found that the Decepticons had captured Ratchet , whom Megatron promised would be his to terminate once the Autobot's usefulness had ended. Persuasion

(thumbnail)

True to Megatron's word, Predaking was presented with Ratchet as a plaything; however, once the Autobot revealed that Megatron had arranged for the Autobots to find Shockwave's lab, Predaking went on a rampage through the ship. After demolishing every Vehicon in his path, the Predacon attacked Megatron and almost got the better of his former leader. A missile to the back from Starscream rattled him enough that Megatron was able to blast him out of an airlock. Synthesis Predaking somehow clung to the hull and went unnoticed by anyone, until the warship returned to Cybertron and restored the planet. Witnessing the world's resurrection, Predaking transformed and flew off. Deadlock

(thumbnail)

He found a Predacon burial ground, uncovered by the movement during the planet's rebirth. It was there that the Autobots found him, and attempted to persuade him to help them find two new Predacons they'd encountered. Though Predaking refused as he couldn't forgive them for their role in the destruction of his kind, he went searching himself and soon found evidence that the Autobots had been telling the truth. His signal intended to attract the two Predacons instead brought Unicron , now in possession of Megatron's form, to his position. Unicron attempted to gain Predaking's allegiance, unaware of Predaking's betrayal, but the Predacon instead attacked the chaos bringer. Unicron defeated him, taking the location of the burial ground from his mind, and by the time Predaking returned, he found to his horror that Unicron had desecrated the site. It was there that he encountered two other Predacons, Darksteel and Skylynx . Though these two Predacons were not willing to obey, Predaking quickly asserted his dominance over the two. After a suggestion from Shockwave, Predaking led them in an attempt to assist the Autobots in fighting Unicron's horde of Terrorcon Predacons. Although Predaking, Skylynx, and Darksteel were pushed into the Well, they were successful in slowing the horde down long enough for Optimus Prime to defeat Unicron, causing the Terrorcons to disintegrate. The trio later tracked Starscream down to Darkmount , intending to exact some revenge. Predacons Rising

Full of Fire!

Predaking was unleashed with five other Predacons on the Autobots, who proved more formidable after having built themselves new weapons. Predaking's fire was stopped short by Optimus Prime's Dragon Cannons , and the other Predacons had a similar lack of fortune, so they withdrew back to the Nemesis . Full of Fire!

Predaking came upon Megatron , Starscream and Soundwave playing cards within the Decepticons' volcano base. For his own amusement, he breathed fire on the gang, sending them scrambling in all directions. He continued to peer through the volcano's crater as the Decepticons attempted to upgrade themselves with some new parts, only for the Autobots to sabotage the process. He chuckled merrily at the Decepticons' misfortune. Intro!

Predaking harassed Starscream once again when he found him preening in front of a full-length mirror. He swooped down, breaking Starscream's mirror to bits and scattering the Decepticon's pieces about, before continuing on his way. Take Flight!

IDW Robots in Disguise comic

At some point Predaking traveled to Earth, bringing Starscream's severed arm with him. Optimus Prime and Windblade found him hanging out in a cave in the Sierra Vistas and after a brief fight, the Predacon fled, leaving Starscream's arm behind. Robots in Disguise #6

2015 Robots in Disguise cartoon

When Predaking, Skylynx, and Darksteel confronted Starscream in Darkmount , the treacherous Decepticon fled into the depths of the fortress. Darksteel and Skylynx pursued, but were seemingly destroyed by an armed security system that Starscream accidentally tripped.

When Starscream boasted of his victory to Bumblebee, he spoke as if all the Predacons had been exterminated, but Predaking was conspicuously not seen during these events, and what became of him was not explicitly stated. Mini-Con Madness

  • According to former Hasbro creative manager Rik Alvarez , Predaking's early inability to transform in the Prime cartoon was a result of the showrunners initially not having the money to finish his other models, as the relatively last-minute decision to include him in the show threw off their budget. [2]
  • Predaking seems to employ mass displacement . It's been shown multiple times that his beast mode 's big enough to toss around Cybertronians like chew-toys, while his robot mode stands only head and shoulders over Megatron. This is likely so he can have scenes in robot mode while inside the Nemesis .

Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Class Predaking Pictorial Review

Posted on January 12, 2013 at 3:20 pm by ORIO under Transformers Prime

voyager class predaking

Once again, thanks to bbs.78dm.net we have another extensive gallery of the other Beast Hunters Wave 1 voyager, Predaking ! This black, orange and silver dragon of death is shown here in both of his modes, with his twin dragon launchers and swords at the ready, and in package photos. Also shown is just how poseable this figure is in his beast mode. Predaking’s dragon mode can be posed on all fours, on his hind legs and if you prefer him flying, you can have all four limbs at his side. It’s quite remarkable looking.

What do you think? We’ve mirrored the images here for your enjoyment. Click the title bar to check them out!

We saw in-hand pics of the altmode at NYCC. That's all we know.

Looks ugly. Larger version seems a lot cooler.

Wow! That's so cool!

Just saw it – this would make an AWESOME Disney crossover for Maleficent…

Not bad. I'll still hold out for more info on the larger one though.

I feel like he'll be an impulse buy for me. If I find him on the shelves with cash to spare I'll grab him, but I'm not going to go hunting and won't be bereft without him. He's fun, but not fantastic.

The beast mode sure look like Scourge in the Galaxy Force

I want to wait for the leader class, but I'm worried that it'll be full of crappy gimmicks that will hinder it. I think this looks pretty sweet. I may have to order one. Also, I think the claws work better as hands than beast feet. Maybe it's just me.

chuckcjc No Ankle Tilt !?!?!? PASS !!!

I like how that's a expectation in tf figs now. Even though it's a feature that's only been in the toys in recent years, and even then it's never really been a constant thing.

closetrat Wonder if any Radicon's gonna transform this figure into another Grimlock homage…

Seems to me like there'd be so many more inspired homage repaints/customs you could do with this guy then just another Grimlock…As a dragon…Wait…Why…Nevermind.

Love that he improves on the classic Grimlock tail transformation by adding hind legs. And maybe it's just me, but I wish the front shoulders could rotate forward in dragon mode, to help hide the bot mode even better.

Wonder if any Radicon's gonna transform this figure into another Grimlock homage…

Wow. When I first saw this, my thought was that it looked pretty good but I would hold off and get the "Leader Class" fig. However, the features and playability of the Voyager figure are impressive:

:)

My only questions are can the swordclub and dragon-head guns be stored on his back or somewhere else in bot mode? Also, I would have loved to see a comparison shot with the new Voyager Prime and maybe some BH deluxes to get a better sense of scale/size.

Nicely done Hasbro. Both this figure and the Prime Voyager are able to have multiple play features without compromising the figure. These are a huge improvement over last year's Weaponizers. I won't get both the Voyager and Leader and this figures makes it a VERY tough decision for me.

mandiprime97 Avatar

Pretty cool looking

Obsidian X Avatar

I'll Probably skip this and get the Leader-sized one for my main TFPrime guys as that seems to scale better from what we seen in that trailer. I wouldn't mind picking this mold up in other colors as another character down the line though.

Anti Spark Avatar

Transbot90210 No matter how good this voyager is they already revealed the larger sized mode so this is a pass. Predaking looked huge in the show teaser so there is no use to buy Cyberverse/Voyager when we know a Ultra/Weaponizer version is already on deck. I just hope the larger sized version isn't hurt by the stupid gimmicks they put in larger figures.

I see your point.

But you have to realize parents these days are looking for the bwtter deal.

Transformers Beast Hunters Predaking Voyager Class Review and Images

Thanks to Shockscream over at the Full Metal Hero forums who has posted a review and images of the Transformers Beast Hunters Predaking Voyager Class action figure. There's been much speculation about how this figure would live up to his namesake. Get the scoop on this toy from Shockscream who offers us some insights on the different modes and other features of this toy now at fullmetalhero.com In his robot mode, Predaking average height but manage to convey a sinister aspect befitting his dragon alternate mode. The combinations of black, orange, and occasional gold work well give one a sense of menace when looking at this figure. There areas where some might want a bit of silver or gold to break up the swathes of black plastic, though. There's just something about it that makes you instantly recognise it as evil. He features a standard amount of articulation in this configuration. His hands are a light drawback in that he has some trouble holding his sword/tail because of the need for them to form feet in dragon mode. But it is a drawback that I can and will live with. The head is small, but impressive with its array of spines; it adds to the sinisterness of the toy. There are also Cybertronian characters or rune carved all over his body, adding to the sense of ancient evil that Hasbro have been aiming for with the Predacons. Perhaps having them picked out in silver paint would have been a welcome addition, but I won't hold that against him.

I mentioned his sword above. It's a decent design and you don't instantly recognise it as his tail when he hold it -- which is a welcome change. The hydra head cannons are less impressive, but still a vast improvement on the Powerizer guns we've had at this size for the past year. They are perfectly capable of staying extended or contracted without human involvement. I do, however, wish that there was somewhere to store them more effectively in his robot mode. They are moulded with a curve so as to hook over his shoulders when attached in dragon mode and this prevents them being mounted on his back when in robot form. It's a shame. His transformation is far more impressive and involved that his wave mate, Optimus Prime's. It is one that will continue to be fun long after the excitement of newness has faded.

How do I get from Moscow airports to the city center?

voyager class predaking

Moscow with its more than twelve million inhabitants has three international airports. The best known is Sheremetyevo (international abbreviation SVO), which is 35 km northwest of Red Square. Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot has its hub here. The second largest airport, Domodedovo (international abbreviation DME), is about 45 km south-east of the center, from where the S7 airline, which mainly flies within Russia, and numerous international airlines such as Lufthansa take off and land. Finally, there is the third largest airport called Moscow-Wnukovo (abbreviation VKO), which serves numerous low-cost airlines such as Pobeda and is the closest to Moscow city center at just under 30 km.

Aeroexpress to the city center

First the good news – all three airports are easy to reach, both by taxi and by public transport such as train and bus. All three airports are connected to the Moscow city center by means of the so-called Aeroexpress. The Aeroexpress is certainly the most popular and the easiest way for foreigners to get to the center of Moscow. With the striking red signs Aeroexpress, you can find the way to the express trains both at Moscow’s three major airports and at the respective departure stations.

The modern, wifi-equipped trains from the private provider have little in common with the city railway trains from the Russian capital, which still originate from the Soviet era, and run to all three airports from early morning until after midnight. The schedule varies from airport to airport and time of day. As a rule of thumb, trains go to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo every half an hour during the day to and from the airport, while Wnukowo is only served hourly for much of the day.

The same pricing scheme applies to all three airports: at 300 rubles (around $ 4.50) for a one-way trip, the prices for the trip are significantly more expensive than regular public transport tickets in Moscow, but are still affordable. Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo are each around 35 minutes from the center, and Domodedovo Airport is 45 minutes away.

If you buy the ticket in advance or via the app, there is a 50 ruble discount, further discounts are available if you book a return trip with one ticket, which costs 600 rubles (around $ 8.50). When it comes to value for money, the Aeroexpress trains are certainly the best option as a solo traveler. Especially since bypassing the often treacherous Moscow traffic – in the rush hour a drive by car can take an hour longer than previously estimated.

The biggest disadvantage is that you can of course not go directly to the desired destination within Moscow. However, all three Aeroexpress trains take you to one of the major Moscow train stations, which in turn are connected to the ring line of the Moscow Metro, from where you can quickly reach all corners of the center of Moscow.

Transport connections

  • Sheremetyevo Airport -> Belorussky Vokzal (journey time 35 minutes)
  • Domodedovo -> Paveletsky Vokzal (journey time 45 minutes)
  • Wnukowo -> Kiewsky Vokzal (travel time 35 minutes)

Prices (apply to all three airports in the city and to the airport):

  • One-way ticket at the counter = 300 rubles
  • Online ticket = 300 rubles
  • Round trip = 600 rubles
  • Tickets for 10 trips = 2,300 rubles
  • Ticket Business Class = 800 rubles

In the city or to the airport by taxi app

Alternatively, the transport from and to the airport can also be regulated using the taxi app. Yandex-Taxi and Gett are the two most popular providers in Moscow. At Yandex the flat rate to all three international airports currently costs 1100 rubles ($ 16) and at Gett even only 950 rubles ($ 14) in the cheapest variant, with a small car of the size VW Polo or Ford Focus.

Unless you want to go to the airport with too much luggage or with more than two people, this is certainly the easiest method. Moderate surcharges are required for larger vehicle categories. Without knowledge of Russian, however, it would be much easier to get to the airport by taxi app than from the airport to the city. Due to the confusing location in front of the three major airports, it may be necessary to contact the driver by phone to find the right vehicle. Because the GPS signal of the respective app only gives the location with an accuracy of about ten to fifteen meters – with several lanes running side by side in front of the terminal and dozens of waiting passengers and arriving taxis, it is certainly not always easy to find yourself straight away.

If you are still dependent on the WiFi of the airport building and therefore must not move too far from the entrance, the whole thing could prove to be difficult. From the city to the airport, however, the taxi app without knowledge of Russian proves to be the much easier method. The hotel or AirBnB address can be entered as the pick-up location, and a taxi can usually be ordered within a few minutes.

Moscow trip planned? Here you can find out how to get the necessary visa! !

With the classic taxi into the city

If you want to drive into the city by regular taxi, you have to expect considerable additional costs. The website of Domodedovo airport gives 2,000 rubles as a guide for a trip to the center, i.e. just $ 28. Trips to and from Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo should be a little cheaper. As with the taxi apps, the following also applies here: Especially at rush hour, you should probably prefer the train because Moscow’s streets burst at the seams in the after-hours traffic.

Bus metro combination

For experienced travelers to Russia or visitors with a particularly tight budget, there is still the option of all three airports to get to the nearest metro station by bus or Marshrutka (mini-bus with a fixed route but flexible stops).

From Vnukowo, for example, the 45M minibus line goes to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station on the red line № 1 of the Moscow Metro, for just 150 rubles. Together with the 62 rubles ticket for the metro, you can get into the city for just over $ 3.

Sheremetyevo Airport can be reached from the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station on Marshrutka line 949 for 80 rubles, or from Planernaya metro station with Marshrutka 948 for 80 rubles ($ 1.1). The minibuses run approximately every 15 minutes. Domodedovo Airport is connected by express bus to the metro station of the same name every half hour. The fare here is 150 rubles (a good 2,1 $). However, complications must be expected with this transport route – the bus drivers in Moscow usually only speak Russian. Taking the metro or minibuses with luggage is not always comfortable. However, you can save money, especially as a solo traveler.
