wow u have amazing trips to visit

Why can’t I put Australia in the Bali contest that is open to all?

I know the answer to Bali contest but at the end it’s not for an Indian

thank you for catching that. I corrected the mistakes.

Who told you that at the end its not for indian? i participated that contest and submitted my entry with right answer.

Some links took me to the hotel homepage rather than the contests. Otherwise, great work!

Thank you once again for these. I am unable to enter the “AMAZING CONTEST Soneva” contest. The page says that, “page could not be found.” Please may you help with that. I’d really love to enter that one. Thanks

I have updated the link (with Soneva’s Instagram page, which gives more info on the contest).

You informed: “Win a luxury summer escape to Ibiza, Spain (…) Eligibility: open to all …” But its terms and conditions indicates: “ELIGIBILITY: (…) 2.This Competition is only open to residents of the UK who are aged 18 years or (…)” Regards, P. Espinosa .

I would like to participate in the Soneva contest… I have been looking for on Soneva website, I found some videos for each month, but I dont see how “like” the video of the month. Could you please tell me where is the video of the month that I should like, tags, etc to enter the contest. Maybe if you could add a direct link would be great. Thanks! Amazing page! Amazing YT videos! Simply the best!

This is Soneva’s current video of the month: https://www.instagram.com/p/BnMjezNj3lo/?hl=nl&taken-by=discoversoneva

Hello from Greece! Why the best of your giveaways are open only to US and UK citizens?? Here in Greece we do not get paid as much as they do and we want to join your beautiful contests! Please give more opportunities for European Residents! Thanks 🙂

I am from Zimbabwe, Africa, and would love to see more opportunities for us too 🙂

How to enter this brussels airline european destination thing. It only opens terms and conditions

Do you have to answer the question correctly to win?

the Oman contest is definitely not open for all. Typically CN traveller contest are not. You have to enter county (not country!), as its just for UK residents mostly.

It appears that the link to the contest for Jacuzzi Beach Villa at Reethi Faru Resort is linked to a contest for a trip to Abu Dhabi. Will you kindly check on this? Thanks!

Sorry about that. I now inserted the correct link.

i’m from Indonesia and thank’s for your info contest, i hope someday i can visit many destinations of all around the world like you.

I’m very frustrated that almost all of these sweepstakes are not open to people in the United States. We would be willing to fly over there. And leave from the destination. I have a daughter who lives in the UK will that qualify me?

Hi! In the “Trip Around the World” contest, you stated that it is open to US & Canada residents. However, when I went to the contest page, it states that it is open for US residents only. I am from Canada and I hope my entries in this contest are not in vain. Thank you! 🙂

Thank you so much for this

How we will be informed about the results of contest and when are been they announced

I know you are trying hard, I can see that, but I can hardly get up the stairs to spend a night in my own bed. I can’t wait to win a prize for afternoon tiffin in Tristan da Cunha. Sorry just being cynical, all that way for a cup of tea. Please make your prizes worth while. Remember Oscar Wilde’s quote about The Giants Causeway in NI. Worth seeing but NOT WORTH GOING TO SEE. If you believe that content production is just a way to attract future customers, you are completely wrong. A good content marketing strategy also includes resources for existing customers

i liked your content your site is very good

your article is extraordinary thanks https://musicdel.ir/single-tracks/56060/

A site should move towards a principled marketing strategy with content that attracts new users every day and causes them to introduce the site to others.

Designers must be very creative and have good cooperation and interaction with authors.

The content should be attractive enough. So your need to draw the user to your site again and again is to produce content with the right marketing.

Has anyone won a trip?

Very informative post. Thank you.

hi The best website I have seen so far

Thank you very much for your good site and this article that you published…

Hi, thank you for lovely content! Unfortunately your ’open to all’-remark on the competitions from Condé Nast Johansens is incorrect. Only UK residents are eligible.

I thank the author of this article.

Plus more, that I have now seen, that ended already in August…

These travel contests sound too good to be true! Winning a luxury getaway to places like Portugal, Italy, or even an adventurous cruise in Patagonia would be a dream come true. The variety of destinations and experiences offered, from stargazing in Italy to a luxury stay in Mykonos, truly caters to every taste. It’s amazing that most of these are open to everyone. Fingers crossed, and hoping to win one of these fantastic prizes!

The array of travel contests on offer is absolutely stunning! From serene beachfront stays in Greece to exhilarating Arctic expeditions, each opportunity seems like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. I appreciate the inclusivity with contests open to various regions, making it exciting for a broader audience. The thought of winning makes the wanderlust in me all the more eager to enter. It’s a brilliant chance to explore the world’s beauty without the financial strain. Truly, a wanderer’s dream come true!

I think some of these trips are stupid. Why, most are a 2 day trip. Which depending where you live, it can take a Day just to travel there and a Day to get back, A 2 day trip is really an 1 overnight ??? Tell me what can you see or enjoy?

How to Win Travel Competitions & Get a Free Holiday!

If you know what to look for to win a free trip, and which ones to enter, you stand a much better chance of winning the thing. Here are my top tips for how to win travel competitions, and bag a free trip.

There are certain rules to winning holiday competitions, which I’ll go through below. There’s a knack.

I want to tell you how to win a travel competition , or at least, how I did.

Five times.

When I first started travel blogging, back in 2011, I’d do anything to travel more. I was earning £19k a year, living in London and going out every weekend. I didn’t have the money to spend on all the trips I wanted to go on, and I needed new material to write about.

Winning travel competitions

How to win free trips

I decided to start entering free holiday competitions. Part of my job at the travel company I worked at was coming up with ideas for competitions to win holidays, and making them stand out so people wanted to enter them.

This meant that researching what other travel companies were doing for holiday comps was all in a day’s work. I needed to look at their methods of entry, what kind of holiday giveaways they were doing and who won them.

Every week I spent more time than I probably should of some time attempting to win the travel competitions I found. Well,  seeing as I was already on the page I might as well.

And then I started winning holidays.

Trigger warning: might make you jealous so just scroll down to the ‘how to win holiday competitions’ bit.

Travel competitions I’ve won

1. g adventures trip from zanzibar to nairobi.

Travel competitions

It was some sort of anniversary for the Queen at the time, back in 2012, so the travel company G Adventures asked their Facebook audience to dress up as a King or Queen, send in a pic, and the winner would win the trip.

I dressed up as Martin Luther King, in a suit and ‘tasche, and only went on to win the blummin thing. Shame I can’t find the photo now, probably for the best.

I can vividly remember running on the treadmill at the gym at Swiss Cottage, thinking about how much I wanted the G Adventures trip. I remember saying to myself that if I won, I was really going to make a go of this travel blogging malarkey. And I did. So here I am , four years later and loving the travel blogger life.

And that trip to Zanzibar and Nairobi was awesome .

Winning travel competitions

That trip was the first of a glorious winning streak for me. Over the next two years I went on to win:

2. – Trip for two to Sharm el Sheikh

3. – Two flights to Amsterdam

4. – Trip for two to Cuba

5. – £300 to spend on a trip to Rhodes

6. – A GoPro HERO4

I’ve just found a new site for all my travel competition wants, where it’s  possible to win a holiday with Daymade  by entering their weekly draws. Check it out!

Holiday competitions on my blog

How to Win Travel Competitions

I make it a point to show off competitions for travel on my blog. Why? Because it’s where I began.

There’s no way I would’ve been able to afford those holidays back in the day.

If I hadn’t have entered that first holiday competition to win the trip from Zanzibar to Nairobi, I wouldn’t have had the confidence in myself that I’d done something cool. Something cool enough to write about and to kick start my travel blog into action.

How to win travel competitions

1. The more obscure the entry method to the travel competition, the more chance you have to win.

If you need to make a video, a poem or send some sort of photo to enter the competition then less people will be bothered to enter, and the more reason for you to do so.

The harder is, the less people will enter and the more chance you have. You’re looking for low entry competitions, ok?

win a trip to

Here are the methods of entry for the travel comps I won…

– Trip for two to Sharm el Sheikh  – my business card was pulled out the jar at a blogger meet up.

– Two flights to Amsterdam – I entered by Retweeting on Twitter.

– Trip for two to Cuba  – I just signed up to a newsletter with my email address, not my vickyflipfloptravels.com one, my personal one (just in case you wondered).

– £300 to spend on a trip to Rhodes  – another email sign up.

– A GoPro HERO4  – this was actually a second prize, I had to say why I’d be a good person to win a trip to Papua New Guinea.

Amazingly, you can see that they were actually all pretty simple methods. Although, I’m sure having a travel blog helped me to win some of them, so really, they were quite difficult as I’d spent so long working on this to make me a worthy winner.

But when I say enter the more difficult ones, with higher barriers to entry, it’s that safari trip I’m thinking of. And that’s an awesome prize to win. You just need to go the extra mile – it’s less crowded there!

win a free trip

2. Free competitions to win holidays

You should always enter the free travel competitions you see, you never know what might happen. I know for a fact and from experience that many of the ones put on by travel companies have a lot less entries than you might think. You do have a chance.

This one time, I told Kara from heelsinmybackpack.com about all the travel competitions I enter, and that she should too, and a few weeks later she went on to win a trip to Bali for two.

When I worked at gapyear.com, we had a travel competition to win a trip for two to the Cook Islands. Seriously, we had about ten entries because the method of entry was a video. And people can’t be bothered to make videos.

The harder the travel comp is, the less people enter, the more chance you have.

VickyFlipFlop Story

1. Do you know about Tweetdeck? Well basically it’s a tool that makes Twitter easier to use and follow, and you can set up feeds to follow certain hashtags. At one time I had it set up to follow hashtags like #competition and #win. That way I was seeing every competition that came through.

You can also just log on to Twitter and do this too.

2. Keep your online eyes peeled for holiday competitions that don’t seem to be very well advertised. One of the best ways of doing this is following your favourite companies on Facebook . Always think of creative answers for competitions to be in with the best chance. There’s genuinely no point in entering if you don’t at least try a little bit.

3. Look at the ending date, if it’s in anything more than a month the competition you’re looking at is probably a scam to just collect email addresses with no intention of ever having any winners.

4. Is it relatively difficult to enter? Then do it now. The more barriers to entry there are, the less entrants there’ll be, and the more chance you have. As I’ve said before.

5. Does the competition owner do competitions all the time?  If so then it’s less likely you’ll win. You’ll have seen magazines that do competitions every week, and will have a few hundred or thousand comp queens who enter every time. That’s not the kind of competition you’re looking for.

Holiday competitions to enter

Winning travel competitions

Kinda, but it’s not just luck. You got be in it, to win it.

You could try out comping sites, to find the best travel competitions. Ones like Loquax, Money Saving Expert, Wanderlust and Travel Scoop all feature the latest and greatest holiday comps out there. Spend a rainy Sunday going through and entering them all, you never know.

Check out Taylor Hearts Travel’s weekly competition round up to win a trip (hopefully). I’m pretty sure that’s where I found the Cuba competition! Or Rosemary and Pork Belly also do a holiday competition round up, that could be totally worth a look.  And TravelScoop.co.uk . I’ve actually just gone through and entered loads of competitions on there, so wish me luck. Maybe?

And just one final tip for entering travel competitions: if you’re worried about the inevitable spam, set up a different email address. But, don’t forget to check it!

Win a free trip

Friends who’ve won a holiday competition

Steve won a flight to Sweden and accommodation for TWENTY people. He was the most popular guy ever when he had a whole section of the plane to himself and his friends. When the airline phoned him to tell him he’d won he totally didn’t believe them and put the phone down on them. This was just a email address to enter competition.

Steve’s a right jammy one and also won a trip to Peru, to climb Machu Piccu. I know!

*But, we call him jammy but then he does enter every competition he sees!

Macca won a £250 holiday voucher of his choice, for uploading a Tweet about an event he was at. That was it!

Jai won a luxury cruise for two by putting her business card in a bowl. She’s also won an amazing holiday to Egypt doing exactly the same thing!

See, just enter and you don’t know where it might lead!

I'm here to help inspire you to travel to places a little out of your comfort zone, or at least to explore the usual destinations in a different way. Stay, have a look around, and if you have any questions – let me know below.

Sounds great thanks for the update and I hope to share with others how I won as well.

Hi Vicky, I read your very enteraining blog, and signed up for a load of sign up chances to win!! I see you wrote about smaller travel companies and blogers, would you have any direct tips because you can litterally spend hours looking for these competitions (haha wastingmylife#)!! Would love some tips from an expert, although a lot of these prizes are being announce in January so I am staying positive! thanks love clem

Hi Vicky, I’m not sure if you have covered this in your blog yet but, one thing I find offputting with holiday competitions is that the prizes are always for two (or more) people. It would be so much less hassle for me to just go alone rather than having to choose one friend over the rest. As it is, I tend to only enter competitions if the destination is somewhere that I really want to go to but, I dread the thought of winning, only to have to forfeit the prize because the winner has to have a plus one. I’ve on ever seen one competition where the prize was for “up to 2 people”. It would be wonderful for this to be the norm.

There are a couple of sites (like travelscoop) that I will scroll through but, as I have one or two specific ‘dream’ destinations in mind, every so often I will google the country + holiday competition, which occasionally comes up with a few and, when they are hosted by, for example, a food or beverage company or, tourist or transport company that’s associated with that country, the same companies tend to repeat the competition again. You get pretty good at sifting out the out of date results!

I’ve not won a holiday (yet!) but that’s fine because I haven’t lost anything either. Somebody will have won it and will have a wonderful time and, that’s what really matters.

Do you know holiday competitions which are open for residents of Europe? I have found only couple.

good after-noon i am curious about getting a free trip for 2 i really think the trip would help me and my sister get closer because its been hard since our mother passed 2 months ago if not i am ok with that.THANK YOU

It seems like that your more luckier than me. Im 49 & I have entered in so many competitions majority of my life (mainly email sign up’s & 25 words or less) & i have never won any! I have writen nice things reffering to the company holding the comp, i have written funny stuff, i have given a sad story … nothing works. I really think random luck has alot to do with it & im not that lucky at all. Even with the only man that wanted to marry me, he was killed in front of me before we even got to marry.

Thanks for the tips!

Hi! Thanks for the article and congratulations on all your wins! Can I ask what you wrote as an aswer to “why you’d be a good person to win a trip to Papua New Guinea”. I’m just curious who wins those competitions. I know you got 2nd place but it’s pretty close 🙂

awesome…. i love it.

Never one a travel competition but hoping 2019 will be my year to start. Australia and New Zealand are the places I want to go the most.

Ooo nice choices. Yeah I entered LOADs of competitions at the end of last year. Still haven’t heard anything though! Good luck to us!

Take a look at our Travel Competition at QuirkyAccom.com. We are a directory of unusual places to stay and we give all our profits to charity. This competition has 4 unusual stays in the UK as prizes and for each entrant we will donate £1 to our current partnered charity Right to Play UK (who do great things for children living in difficult situations around the world. I read your blog about winning competitions and thought that you may be able to help us spread the word – and give more to a good cause.

https://www.quirkyaccom.com/general-blog-articles/qa-autumn-competition

Closing date 22 November.

Thanks for your comment. I’ve entered!

Hi, i have been entering competitions for ages and still no luck 🙁 You blog is very helpful and I cant wait to put in more effort when looking for competitions! Are there any websites in particular that you would suggest? I find it difficult to find websites that I perceive to be legit

Hi Sophie, I used to look at this page: http://taylorheartstravel.com/win-a-trip-and-travel-competitions/ Seems to be down at the moment but keep an eye on it.

Or you could try looking for #competition on Twitter, or try following all your favourite brands on Facebook and then they will usually put their competitions on there.

Oh, or try Loquax. Hope that helps. x

Love this post! I enter competitions all the time but have yet to win anything. You’ve given me hope that it is possible!

Competitions are definitely a numbers game. The more you enter, the more chance you have. Have you checked out the ones on TaylorHeartsTravel? Also, keep an eye on smaller travel companies and bloggers – they often host them with a lot less participants. They’re the ones you want to aim for!

After reading this I am obsessed with entering competitions! Fingers crossed I win one soon!

Ooo let me know if you do. I might enter some today too 🙂

Really great post – I’m always so reluctant to enter competitions, but might have to start given your success rate and recos!

Kate | http://www.petiteadventures.org/

Yeah, no harm in trying right? Gotta be in it to win it and all those annoying sayings 🙂

I’ve won so many competitions since you told me this, Vicky! The trip to Bali was the start, then a Fuji Instax Mini, a weekend in Northumberland and a trip for two to Prague! Best. Advice. Ever. xx

Ha, amazing! Well done. Proud of you. 🙂

I enter competitions ALL. THE. TIME and I think the only things I’ve won were a sleep mask and a pair of ear plugs (which I found out I could’ve bought from John Lewis for £7.99) and two tickets to a NYE gig in Bristol which I couldn’t go to in the end as accommodation for the night and train fares would’ve cost me a week’s wages!

I keep trying to convince myself my lucky streak is yet to come 😉

Ah no, that’s annoying! Keep trying. I’m sure it will come some day! 🙂

Prizes Won by MouseSavers.com Readers

In 2003, we started listing Disney sweepstakes as well as contests with prizes of Orlando and Southern California vacations. Since then, we’ve heard from over 300 MouseSavers.com readers who have won prizes .

Here are some of the major prizes won by MouseSavers.com readers:

See, real people do win these things. (And if you win a contest you found on MouseSavers.com,  let us know .)  Congratulations to the winners!

Avoiding Junk Mail

Sweepstakes entries are one of the primary ways companies build their email lists. If you don’t want to be bombarded with junk email, try to opt out (if possible) from any mailing list sign-ups they are offering along with the contest entry.

It’s also smart to create a “junk mail” address through a free Web-based email provider such as Gmail and use it for all sweepstakes sign-ups. However, be sure to check that mailbox at least every couple of days, since winners are frequently notified by email.

Know of a great Disney-related sweepstakes not listed here?

Send us an email with a link to the entry page.

We only list the following types of sweepstakes:

  • sponsored by Disney
  • major company/organization offering major Disney prizes
  • major company/organization offering trip to Central Florida (Orlando, Tampa, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral)
  • major company/organization offering trip to Southern California (Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego)

We sometimes choose not to list specific sweepstakes for various reasons. Some of those reasons include:

  • no official rules
  • promotion seems misleading/questionable
  • sponsor is obscure or known/suspected to be problematic
  • primary prize is negligible, such as a low-value merchandise item, video or pair of tickets to a show
  • rules suggest major privacy issues (seems possible your data will be sold to a telemarketer or spammer)
  • Facebook sweepstakes that requires you to authorize an app (potential privacy issues)
  • 1 800 970 7299
  • Live Chat (Online) Live Chat (Offline)
  • My Wishlist

Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers, or certificates once delivered to winner (or winner’s guest). Prize-related travel may be subject to capacity controls, availability, blackout dates, and other restrictions.

Any unclaimed and/or unused portion of the Prize will be forfeited upon travel completion and will remain the property of Sponsor. The Intrepid Tour provided must be accepted as awarded, there are no substitutions. There is no cash alternative for the Prize, in whole or in part. The Prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No compensation, refunds, or alternatives will be offered due to a winner's inability to attend, claim, or use the Prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater monetary value for any Prize. In no event shall the Sponsor be obligated to award more prizes than the number of Prize(s) stated in these Official Rules.

If winner and/or winner’s guest engages or has engaged in behavior that is obnoxious, threatening, disruptive, inappropriate, illegal, or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify winner and to immediately terminate any outstanding portion of the Prize without further compensation.

7. Winner Selection: Sponsor will use a computer-generated randomizer to select one (1) Grand Prize Winner from the entries received during the Sweepstakes Period (or, for mail entries, received by the date indicated above) on 24 August 2021. If there is a dispute regarding the identity of the winner, the registered account holder of the email account used to submit the winning entry will be deemed the winner, subject to such owner’s compliance with the Official Rules.  Sponsor reserves the right to deliver Prize(s) to the email or mailing address supplied by the winner at the time of entry.

A winner may be disqualified for: failure to timely respond to Sponsor’s notification, failure to timely complete and return the Winner Paperwork, failure to meet the Eligibility Requirements at the time of entry, failure to comply with the Official Rules, and/or failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations, each as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion. All winner privileges shall immediately terminate upon disqualification.  If a winner is disqualified, Sponsor may select an alternative winner (up to a maximum of two alternates). No alternate winner will be drawn if a Prize is time-sensitive.

Normal time, toll, connection, and usage rates charged by your Internet Service Provider may apply.  Winner(s) are responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on the value of the Prize. Winner(s) may receive from an IRS form 1099-MISC at the end of the calendar year, a copy of which form will also be filed with the Internal Revenue Service.

Unless prohibited by applicable law, winner’s acceptance of a Prize constitutes winner’s irrevocable permission for Sponsor and each Sweepstakes Partner to use winner’s name, address, biographical information, likeness, and testimonial for advertising or publicity purposes regarding the Sweepstakes, on a worldwide basis and in all forms of media known or unknown, without further compensation.

9. General Terms: Sponsor may disqualify any individual or void any entry if the entrant corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.  This includes, for example, the use of computer ‘script,’ ‘macro,’ or ‘brute force,’ masking identities by manipulating IP addresses, or using any automated means to enter the Sweepstakes.

Sponsor may disqualify any individual or void any entry if the entrant uses a username or email address that belongs to or is already being used by another person, whether actual or fictitious, that may be interpreted as impersonating another person, or violating the rights of any person.

Incomplete, illegal, misdirected, untimely, or invalid entries will not be accepted.  Proof of sending is not proof of delivery. Releasees (defined below) take no responsibility for delayed, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, misdirected, damaged, or lost entries due to technical reasons or otherwise.

If the Sweepstakes cannot be run or be administered as planned, for reasons outside of Sponsor’s control, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes (subject to any written directions given under applicable law) by posting a notice on the Sweepstakes entry page. Sponsor further reserves the right to modify, cancel, or suspend the Sweepstakes if Sponsor believes doing so is necessary to maintain the integrity of the Sweepstakes or fairness to entrants.  Sponsor will not be liable for a delay or failure to perform its obligations if caused by an act, omission, event, or circumstance beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control.

This Sweepstakes is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without reference to its conflict of laws principle.  By entering the Sweepstake, you irrevocably consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the federal and state courts of New York and waive the right to have disputes arising out of the subject matter hereof adjudicated in other forum. In no event, will you be entitled to injunctive relief or equitable relief of any kind, or restrain the continuation of any Sweepstake.

10. Privacy: By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree that Sponsor may use the personal information you provide through your entry in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy ( https://www.intrepidtravel.com/booking-intrepid/privacy ).

win a trip to

Courtesy of OnLocation

The Paris Olympics is a sought-after ticket this summer, but Delta Vacations is making sure one lucky sports fan gets there in style with a free vacation package to see Team USA in the City of Lights.

The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to the Paris Olympic Games, Delta Vacations shared in a statement with Travel + Leisure , complete with round-trip main cabin Delta flights, a 6-night stay at a 5-star hotel in Paris, and tickets to six Olympic Games sessions, including the closing ceremony, men’s marathon swimming (which is expected to take place in the Seine ), beach volleyball, and more. The giveaway sweepstakes is open to travelers 21 years old and older through 11:59 p.m. ET on April 24.

Olympic fans must follow @deltavacations on Instagram to enter and comment on the sweepstakes post with their favorite vacation memory. Entrants must tag a friend in the post and use the hashtag “#DeltaVacationsSweepstakes.” The sweepstakes is limited to one entry per person.

The Olympic Games are set to kick off on July 26, and tickets are increasingly hard to come by. Travelers hoping to book a package for the games can still do so with the official hospitality partner, On Location , including packages with a hotel included.

Travelers who book an official hospitality package will also be able to visit the Team USA House , located inside the historic Palais Brongniart building. In the past, the Team USA House was reserved for athletes, their guests, and VIPs.

Beyond the Olympics, travelers who book a trip with Delta Vacations can save big since Delta Air Lines SkyMiles are worth at least 15 percent more when used to book a Delta Vacations trip. Travelers can also use those miles to cover the entire cost of a trip, including when booking hotels, transportation, and excursions.

I never had honey moon so I would definitely appreciate a trip any trip me and husband would be grateful we both work full time and there is a need for a vacation

Please consider me and my significant other. I have been hoping to get away with him for about 3 years now but something has always kept us from being able to travel together. Hawaii ha, and still is, my choice of a trip away. 1, because I love the experience I have had alone. But mainly because we as a couple have never been away with one another. First it was the pandemic so I had to cancel a trip I was planning for us. Then we got pregnant back to back. So now we have 3 children and have never traveled alone, or as a family. A trip to any Island would be everything to me, and for us. I thank you for reading this and giving me some slight hope that we could be winners.

I would love to win a trip to Hawaii.

We’re spending our 50th on Hawaii Island in Sept 23. I do not see much about this island on your site. Thanks Dorothy

What a beautiful place

OK here we go, I entered three of these. Hope to be there soon!

😀 Me, too! I hope we both win trips to Hawaii! 🏝️

  • Trivia Per the plot of the film, the main character (Frank Tsigas) must lose 50 pounds in 3 months to win a bet with his wife. As the lead actor playing Frank, George A. Tramountanas (in addition to writing, directing, and producing the movie) actually lost 50 pounds over the three months they shot the film. This also necessitated that the production shoot all of the Frank scenes in chronological order over the 12 weekends that they filmed.

Gabby George, Jess Simpson and Emma Watson remain unavailable for selection due to their long-term injuries.

The home side have a couple of concerns, with defender Courtney Nevin edging closer to a return. Young forward Denny Draper is set to remain out.

Former Red Aimee Palmer could be involved on Sunday; the Foxes midfielder was part of our squad in our inaugural season which led to promotion from the Championship.

THE OPPOSITION

Leicester are currently 10th in the WSL standings (the position they finished in last campaign) with four victories, five draws and 10 defeats in 19 games so far this season.

They are without a win in their previous five matches across all competitions, with four of those ending in defeat, including last weekend's 3-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the Foxes are still set to provide a tricky test on the road for United, and one player to watch could be forward Jutta Rantala, who has 10 goals and six assists to her name in all competitions in 2023/24.

Our young Reds came from three goals down and beat Leicester City on penalties.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

This will be the 12th meeting between the two sides, with United possessing the stronger record with seven wins to Leicester's one and three draws.

The points were shared in the reverse league fixture in 2023/24, as Aileen Whelan opened the scoring for Leicester before Le Tessier's glancing header made it 1-1.

Back in December, we defeated Leicester 3-1 at Leigh Sports Village in the Continental Tyres League Cup group stage. Lucia Garcia, Lisa Naalsund and Katie Zelem were all on the scoresheet, while Whelan found the net for the Foxes.

After weeks of worrisome late-game blunders, there finally was redemption for the Dodgers bullpen Tuesday night.

On a night their starting pitcher failed to complete five innings, and their lineup managed only one run before the final couple of frames, it was five other numbers that keyed a 4-1 Dodgers win over Washington at Nationals Park.

0. 0. 0. 0. 0.

As in, the five goose eggs the Dodgers’ once-struggling bullpen put on the scoreboard.

“The bullpen,” manager Dave Roberts said, “was really good tonight.”

Entering the night, the unit had been anything but lately, emerging as one of the biggest concerns during the Dodgers’ underwhelming 13-11 start to the season.

The group was without injured right-handers Brusdar Graterol and Blake Treinen (the latter will begin a rehab assignment this week). It had compiled a 4.35 ERA through the opening month, the 10th-worst mark in the majors. And it had been a common culprit during a 3-6 homestand last week.

April 23, 2024

But Tuesday against the rebuilding Nationals, relievers Michael Grove, Alex Vesia, Daniel Hudson and Evan Phillips helped the Dodgers overcome an early offensive lull, then hang on to a narrow lead late, combining for 4-1/3 scoreless innings in a victorious start to a nine-game trip.

“We’re always gonna be ready to go down there,” Phillips said.

While starter James Paxton surrendered just one run in his fourth start, the veteran left-hander again struggled with his command. He walked three batters (he has 17 this season) and struck out just one, forcing Roberts to replace him with one out in the fifth after 89 laborious pitches.

On the other side of the plate, the Dodgers’ lineup was kept silent by the Nationals’ own left-handed veteran, Patrick Corbin.

Last year Corbin’s 5.20 ERA was third worst in the majors among qualified starters. This season his 8.06 mark entering Tuesday ranked dead last, after he gave up five runs in 6⅓ innings at Dodger Stadium last week.

In his rematch against the Dodgers, though, the 34-year-old looked like his former All-Star self. He spun 5⅓ shutout innings. He walked three batters but gave up just three hits while collecting three strikeouts.

It was only once Corbin left the game that the Dodgers finally found life. Later in the sixth, they manufactured a two-out rally that culminated with Kiké Hernández’s tying single. In the eighth, James Outman put the Dodgers in front with an RBI double and Miguel Rojas singled him home. Then, in the ninth, Shohei Ohtani supplied an exclamation point with his sixth home run, clobbering a 450-foot, second-deck blast that exploded off his bat at 118.7 mph.

“It looks like a cruise missile,” Outman said. “That was absurd.”

Underpinning the entire performance was the bullpen.

Grove stranded the two runners he inherited from Paxton in the fifth, then got two outs — with a walk in between — in the sixth.

Vesia took over from there, stranding Grove’s runner with a deep flyout before returning to the mound for a scoreless seventh.

And once the Dodgers took the lead in the eighth — a rally that started with a single and steal from Teoscar Hernández — Roberts’ late-game decisions were easy.

Dodgers Dugout: Survey shows fans are solidly behind Dave Roberts

It wasn’t even close: Most fans believe in Dave Roberts and want him to remain manager of the Dodgers.

Hudson, the former Nationals closer who has returned from two injury-plagued seasons to become the Dodgers’ set-up man, worked around a two-out walk in the eighth to lower his ERA to 2.45.

Phillips had a more adventurous appearance in the ninth, loading the bases on three walks and a single — the Nationals ran into one out on the bases — before ultimately surviving with his sixth save and a sub-1.00 ERA.

“Fortunately,” a relieved Phillips said, “I was able to finish it out today.”

Indeed, and as he and the Dodgers celebrated in the handshake line, it was the bullpen at last that deserved the credit — and not the blame — in a close, low-scoring contest that wasn’t decided until the final innings.

Stiles Points: Last Season's Play-In Tournament Trip Could Prove Large Saturday for OKC Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder's play-in tournament win last season could loom large on Saturday.

  • Author: Rylan Stiles

In this story:

The Oklahoma City Thunder have heard about their inexperience all year long. It is one of two concerns any consumer can raise about a 57-win team in the toughest conference the NBA has ever seen.

On Saturday, the team will embark on another first for this young group - their first playoff round game. Though, that is a bit of a technicality.

For all the hoopla that will follow Oklahoma City this postseason as they enter their year of firsts, the only place they have experience is inside the Smoothie King Center.

The exclamation mark on the 2022-23 season for the upstart Thunder is their play-in tournament win over the New Orleans Pelicans last April. Fighting their way through a sea of red to eliminate the Pelicans from the posteason.

Despite falling the next game in Minnesota to end a game shy of their first trip to the NBA Playoffs, the Thunder earned valuable experience on the road in a high stakes game.

Despite the rocking atmosphere in the Bayou, the Thunder weathered the storm and now knows what it takes to win in NOLA.

Without getting caught off guard by the road crowd, a win on Saturday afternoon would almost assure a series victory. In what is a pseudo must-win contest for the Pelicans as no team has ever mounted a 3-0 comeback.

Stiles Points

  • The OKC Thunder have envisioned their position-less model for years and are now taking advantage of the league-shifting .
  • Former Thunder first-round pick Darius Bazley explained what separates Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from other players in a recent podcast. This is yet another person who praises the Thunder stars work ethic.
  • Saturday's game represents another early tip time which has been a boogeyman for the Thunder this season. Mark Daigneault sounded off on how they will handle it .
  • What is the rule of thumb for the aux in a road trip that features vastly different music taste? It should be a universal law - the driver gets to pick the tunes.

Fu defends trip to china as agenda questioned.

win a trip to

Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) caucus whip Fu Kun-chi (傅?萁) yesterday defended his upcoming trip to China, saying it is part of his duty to work for the resumption of cross-strait exchanges, amid criticism that he is leaving while his native Hualien is battered by quakes and while the legislature is in session.

Fu is today leading a delegation of KMT lawmakers to China. The group originally planned to leave yesterday, but postponed the departure after a series of aftershocks rocked Hualien County following April 3’s earthquake, which measured 7.2 on the Richter scale.

It is a priority among legislators to promote cross-strait exchanges, Fu told reporters.

Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) caucus whip Fu Kun-chi speaks to reporters at the legislature in Taipei yesterday.

Photo: Tien Yu-hua, Taipei Times

“No matter what happens, I shall take up the responsibility to promote peace across the Taiwan Strait,” he said.

Earlier in the day, DPP legislators and think tanks held a news conference accusing Fu and the KMT of cooperating with China’s agenda to undermine Taiwan’s democracy and national security.

KMT members have made many trips to meet with Chinese government officials, with 24 known official visits by party members in recent years, while Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) members have done so three times, DPP Legislator Lee Kuen-cheng (李坤城) said.

“We must ask if these two parties are working to sell out Taiwan by colluding with Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平),” he said.

Taiwan Economic Democracy Union deputy secretary-general Hsu Kuan-tze (許冠澤) said that China is using a combination of tactics in its attempt to subjugate Taiwan.

“One of them is through political means, such as selective imports of Taiwanese agricultural products to create the impression that Taiwanese local governments can circumvent the central government and do business with China,” he said. “This tactic aims to subvert the central government’s authority, which was elected by popular vote.”

“Fu’s election as the KMT caucus whip has boosted his political clout and his power to influence public opinion. Even TPP lawmakers have followed his instructions and repeatedly abstained from voting during key [legislative] decisions,” Hsu said.

“China is going through Fu to connect with KMT figures and leaders of local political factions, as well as form an alliance with the TPP. In doing so, it would be able to control Taiwan’s legislature, and thereby control Taiwanese politics and society. This is a new Chinese ‘united front’ tactic that Taiwanese must be aware of,” Hsu added.

DPP Legislator Puma Shen (沈伯洋) accused Fu of obstructing aid to Hualien County following the April 3 earthquake.

“The central government must draft programs and allocate funding with the cooperation of the county government,” he said. “On the day of the earthquake, it already transferred NT$300 million [US$9.2 million] to the Hualien County Government, but where has this been spent? The county also has NT$200 million in leftover funds from the NT$2 billion it collected for previous quakes. Why is it not making use of this?”

Fu is orchestrating a “three-act play” as he maneuvers to block funds allocated by the central government from benefiting Hualien residents, Shen said.

“First, the Hualien County Government has impeded local reporting and compiling of damage information, so the central government funds cannot get disbursed to residents affected by the earthquake. Second, Fu has introduced a legislation, dubbed the April 3 Earthquake Reconstruction bill, aiming to use this special legislation to override the existing Disaster Prevention and Protection Act (災害防救法). In doing so, Fu would be able to hinder central government funds and resources from getting to Hualien County,” he added.

“And third, Fu is heading to China to bring in resources and financial support from the Beijing government. He is cooperating with China’s ‘united front’ tactic, aided by Chinese state media propaganda, to create an image that Fu — the lawmaker and a former Hualien County commissioner [his wife is the current commissioner] — is the man who can negotiate the most favorable conditions and obtain the best results from the Chinese government, which can be depended on to look after, and provide support and economic benefits for the people of Hualien,” Shen said.

Separately yesterday, the Mainland Affairs Council said it does not know what Fu plans to discuss with Chinese officials on this trip, as the government cannot force legislators to detail their planned trips.

“Since he was elected by his constituency, he is responsible to his voters, and we will only know later on what was discussed at the meetings in Beijing,” the council said in a statement.

“However, if the issues are related to government authority, and Fu did not receive permission to do so, their talk would not be valid or legally binding,” the council said. “Cross-strait interactions must be conducted on an equal basis, and with respect for each other’s authority, and as long as it conforms to laws governing cross-strait relations, the government welcomes such efforts.”
