U2's free Zoo Station exhibit in Las Vegas recalls Zoo TV tour, offers 'something different'

zoo tv tour 2023

LAS VEGAS – It’s described both as a love letter to fans and a homage to the time period when “ Achtung Baby ” was recorded in Germany.

The 12,000-square-foot “Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience,” housed in the atrium between The Venetian and Palazzo resorts, is designed to complement the “U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere” concert spectacle taking place about a 10-minute walk from the back of The Venetian.

The “fan portal” is unlike a typical music star pop-up. There are no costumes to peruse and marvel at how small they appear, nor are there any awards to gawk at as proof of U2’s legendary rock band status .

“They wanted to bring to life the themes from the album. They wanted to do something different,” said Andrew Luft, vice president of partnerships for Vibee, the company that worked with the band to create Zoo Station.

When is Zoo Station open and what does it cost?

Zoo Station, as its welcoming signs beckon, is a two-story interactive exhibit that is free and open to all ages of the public Tuesdays-Sundays starting at 11 a.m. The venue is open only to VIP ticket holders from 4-5 p.m. on days of U2 concerts and the second floor, featuring the Zoo TV Cinema, is closed on Tuesdays.

The 160-capacity cinema is the only element of Zoo Station that incurs a fee ($15) if guests choose to watch any of the five daily film screenings curated by U2’s the Edge. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets in advance.

The weekly schedule of films, which typically run about 90 minutes, is available on the Zoo TV Cinema website . Recent showings in the room, which features plush seating, a theater-sized screen and Dolby Atmos sound, have included “ Joshua Tree – Live from Paris 1987 ,” “ A Day in the Life of The Edge ” and “Making of Rattle & Hum/Outside It’s America.”

What is inside Zoo Station?

The entry point of Zoo Station spotlights an exhibit of Anton Corbijn’s five decades of photos of the band, with emphasis on their “Achtung Baby”/Zoo TV Tour period in the early 1990s.

A Trabant or “Trabi” as it was known - the German car used during U2’s Zoo TV Tour - sits off to the side, its doors open to welcome guests to sit inside, push pedals and flip levers to create a U2 song that will boom within while the inside of the roof sparkles like a mirrorball.

There are numerous photo opportunities, including the B-stage stocked with instruments, a photo booth decorated with the serial number used on the bank notes Bono tossed into the crowd during the 1992-93 Zoo TV tour and the “Satellite of Love” centerpiece, another throwback from that groundbreaking live show.

A massive U2 Pop Up Shop – aka merch store – offers limited-edition swag. A smaller (and generally less crowded) T-shirt stand on the second floor is also available.

While the Ultra Violet Lounge and Fly Bar on the neon-illuminated second level offer comfortable chill space, the highlight upstairs is the cyber-Trabant and the digital spray paint cans available to decorate the side of it.

How long will Zoo Station remain at The Venetian?

The exhibit is primed to welcome guests through Nov. 4, close for the rest of the month and reopen Dec. 1. U2 just announced an additional 11 dates of its monumental Sphere show, and Zoo Station will extend its run as well.

Last night, Sphere’s impactful exterior – the Exosphere, which consists of approximately 1.2M LED pucks over its 580,000 sq ft surface – lit up with the first U2:UV Achtung Baby Live content to help celebrate the announcement of Zoo Station and leading up to the band’s run of shows.

The exhibit borrows its name from “Zoo Station,” the opening track on U2’s seminal 1991 album  Achtung Baby , and the nickname for Zoologischer Garten, an actual Berlin train station situated in the city center, not far from Hansa Studios where much of the album was recorded. The exhibit, which is open daily to the public, allows fans to experience the origins and inspirations for  Achtung Baby  and its accompanying industry-defining Zoo TV Tour with its vision of a technologically-charged future: from the historic train station entrance to the sound design, the life-size subway car and vintage Trabant car display to the interactive Satellite of Love media station.

U2 Confirm New Album in the Works, Possibility of ‘Zoo TV Tour’ Return

by Tina Benitez-Eves November 23, 2021, 11:55 am

“We are firmly locked in the tower of song and working away on a bunch of new things,” said U2’s Edge , while working on a new song with bassist Adam Clayton. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of U2’s seventh album Achtung Baby , the band is already well into a follow-up to their 2017 release, Songs of Experience .

Videos by American Songwriter

“I’m just having so much fun writing and not necessarily having to think about where it’s going to go,” said Edge in a recent interview. “It’s more about enjoying the experience of writing and having no expectations or limitations on the process.”

Still in the early stages of the process, the band has yet to land on a producer for the new album, but Edge added that he enjoyed working with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix on the UEFA Euro 2020 song “We Are the People.”

“I hope to work with him in the future,” Edge said. “But we haven’t made any firm decisions on what the next thing will be in terms of personnel.”

The band recently shared the song “ Your Song Saved My Life ,” off the soundtrack for the upcoming animated featured Sing 2, which also features singer Bono in a starring role as the voice of the rock star lion Clay Calloway.

zoo tv tour 2023

“That’s not a thing that U2 normally does, but it’s in the of spirit of mixing it up, keeping people guessing, and trying different things,” said Edge of the animated film. “It felt like a worthy thing. And also, it’s a movie about great songs and we we felt very comfortable in the company that we were keeping there.”

Reflecting on the 30th anniversary of the Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno-produced Achtung Baby, recorded in 1990 at the famed Hansa Studios in Berlin, Edge hinted at a possible return of returning to the multimedia-immersive Zoo TV Tour that supported the album.

“I would love that and I couldn’t rule it out,” he said. “I think [Zoo TV] is such a current thought. Back then, we were we’re dealing with the overload and kind of the whiplash of 24/7 news cycles, which hadn’t been known before. It was the overload of cable TV and hundreds and hundreds of channels. And little did we know that that was just the beginning of this avalanche of channels to kind of draw your attention.”

Edge added that the production team from that tour is still working with the band, so it’s something they wouldn’t rule out for an upcoming tour. The band’s last tour was in 2019, commemorating the 30th anniversary of their fifth album The Joshua Tree . “I think Zoo TV could absolutely come back and be just as relevant,” added Edge, “but we haven’t actually got to the point of doing anything more than this kind of talk, but I wouldn’t rule it out again.”

Off tour for the past two years, and following the pandemic, Edge said that the band need some time off after being either in the studio or on the road for five consecutive years. “As much as momentum is your friend, there’s a moment where you stop getting fed by momentum and it starts to drain you,” said Edge. “That’s because you need those moments of inactivity just to listen to music. We’re all enjoying that right now.”

See Inside U2's Interactive 'Zoo Station' Las Vegas Exhibit

T o celebrate U2 ‘s concert residency at Las Vegas’ groundbreaking new venue the Sphere , the band has launched Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience , an exhibit that allows fans to interact with iconic elements from their Achtung Baby era.

You can see exclusive photos of the exhibit below.

Working closely with U2 creative director Gavin Friday, Live Nation’s curated destination experiences company Vibee took over a former Barney’s department store and made it look like the Berlin Zoologischer Garten train station, whose nickname inspired Achtung Baby ‘s opening song “Zoo Station.”

Two Trabant cars made famous on the band’s Zoo TV tour, are among the centerpieces of the exhibit. You can step inside one and flip various switches and pedals to hear U2 songs. If you’re lucky enough to hit the right combination, the inside of the tiny car will turn into a brightly lit disco. The other Trabant is a custom-built replica that allows fans to create digital graffiti on the car using special paint cans.

During the press tour, Vibee President Harvey Cohen explained that the company had been working with U2 on the Zoo Station exhibit for more than a year. “It’s actually amazing, that after this many years, the band still has an absolute touch point to every detail that is involved in their projects,” he said. “Every detail is meticulous with that band. So it’s involved and challenging for sure, but it’s also amazing to have a band that cares that much, that are able to go through those details with us, as opposed to having them say, ‘Yeah, just put something up for us.'”

The Zoo Station exhibit also features a replica of the Zoo TV stage where fans can play instruments, see a collection of Anton Corbijn photos and step inside a photo booth. Cocktails are served at the Fly Bar, which is open exclusively to VIP package members before each concert and to the public at other times. An intimate movie theater, Zoo TV Cinema, hosts five movie screenings each day that feature U2 concert footage.

How to Visit U2’s Zoo Station Exhibit

Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience is located at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. The exhibit also features a pop-up shop that includes exclusive merchandise not available online or at the Sphere shows. You can get more information about Vibee’s U2:UV concert and hotel experience packages at their website .

ZOO TV 30th Anniversary Tour *Rumours*

I thought this deserved it's own thread as the idea of an AB/ZOO TV anniversary tour is often discussed here but in multiple threads so things get lost. Hopefully everything will now be talked about in here so we can keep track of everything. If there is already a thread dedicated to AB/ZOO TV30 (which when I looked there wasn't, I could only find one on someones Thesis) then feel free to move this post there. Anyway, for those of you on social media such as Facebook and Twitter you might have seen a few things over the past couple of days or so that a ZOO TV Anniversary tour is pretty much confirmed. They have even gone as far as announcing the cities that the band will be playing in. First of all, I just want to make it very clear that I do not believe any of these rumours. I personally only believe news or rumours that come from U2Songs and I would suggest you do the same. I very much believe that these rumours are fan made in excitement and hope - and therefore are fake with no reputable sources. It very much seems like one guys excitement has gotten out of hand. However, seeing how there's some downtime from the band themselves and with U2 news in general, I see no harm in sharing these rumours. Just take them with a very big pinch of salt. I personally believe that they'll live stream an AB celebration show in November with a limited social distanced crowed in attendance. Once again, that is just my own personal opinion and no reputable sources have reported on it. Now, most of these AB/ZOO TV anniversary tour rumours come from the " We dream of a U2 ZOOTVreloaded 2023 " Facebook group. A lot of people on social media seems to be taking these rumours very seriously, and genuinely believe a tour will be happening based on this information. The page is reporting that there will be 100 indoor shows in 10 cities. These cities are: Melbourne, New York City, Las Vegas, Toronto, Mexico City, Berlin, Milano or Rome, Paris, London and Dublin. They report that the band are finishing 8 new songs and will be releasing an EP or a new album in order to promote this anniversary tour. The band will include a large ZOO TV block in the setlist to celebrate the anniversary. They also propose that this will be the bands last tour (how many times have we heard that before?). They also go on to talk about how the band are excited to revisit the ZOO TV idea, how specific websites will be used to promote the tour and even discuss U2.coms ticketing priority. To conclude, even though the owner of the page states to have reputable sources from LiveNation and the band, I think it's safe to say this is all utter shite. I don't believe it and I suggest that you don't to. But if like me you were scrolling through social media and saw that a large amount of people were getting excited due to a "confirmed" ZOO TV anniversary tour, well at least you know where it came from. Once again, unless it comes from U2Songs (or even better the band themselves!), don't believe what you hear, don't believe what you see!

Likewise I take these rumours with a pinch of salt. If it wasn’t for COVID I think the tour would have happened but I don’t see it now. I would still love it to happen but I think the band’s next tour now will be in 2023 and it will be to promote a new album released either late 2022 or early 2023. As for AB I think the best we can hope for is a one off live stream or a boxset release but that’s it.

10 nights in each city? Don't think this is happening. Global situation would suggest any sort of world tour is off the cards until 2023. Think best we would get, is a one off show, maybe two next year. Didn't the guy down at Slane say recently he wants two big bands to play a show there next year? Think more chance of that than 100 shows for AB30.

Well they are not getting any younger. I don't see them waiting for 2023. 2022 summer the latest

I for one believe. 1 ) AB deserves the same recognition as JT. 2) Zoo TV themes are far more relevant than JT tour 3) the more time passes without new U2 music, the better the odds for AB30. Livenation will want their cash cows on the road...They did Acrobat and Macphisto came back in 2018. Let Willie Williams go to town with the stage design. 4) vaccines , herd immunity. 2022 will be the year tours resume IMO 5) tests, masks, distancing...no one is saying full capacity needs to happen. In fact... https://www.timeout.com/news/live-music-is-back-in-australia-that-is-111920 https://www.euronews.com/2021/03/21/netherlands-trials-new-covid-19-app-at-pilot-music-festivals

I can see them doing residencies for sure to save them from travelling from city to city, which must exhaust them these days. I think with the current management they have it's going to happen in some capacity, it's just a case of when and where. Personally, I don't want it to happen. I said the same about JT30. I'm not going to open up a can of worms, though.

The days of 100 show tours by U2 are over. If anyone believes the band would have enough drawing power to warrant booking 10 shows per city in 10 cities... I have a bridge to sell you.

The band’s 1993 release became the fastest record they’ve ever made.

Even while they were on the road all over the world on the ZOO TV tour, the ideas for U2 ’s next album were burning such a hole in their pocket that it became the fastest record they’ve ever made.

Just as Bono had explained that Rattle and Hum belonged with The Joshua Tree as its natural partner, the band knew in their bones that 1991’s Achtung Baby would soon inspire a complementary follow-up. Its name would be Zooropa , and although it was first envisaged as an EP, it simply demanded to become their eighth studio album.

As ever, there was some extracurricular fun en route, such as the night in January 1992 when The Edge inducted the Yardbirds into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. During the ZOO TV tour, on-stage guests included Axl Rose in Vienna, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in Paris and Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus in Stockholm, for an unexpected U2 take on “Dancing Queen.” In August, they became only the second act ever, after Billy Joel, to perform at Yankee Stadium in New York.

‘aja’: steely dan hit the sweet spot, and the grammy hall of fame, three dublin locations.

U2 started making  Zooropa early in 1993, during a break in that ZOO TV itinerary, with the audio-visual extravaganza evolving into the Zooropa tour once the record was completed. This time, three Dublin studio locations were involved: Westland, The Factory and the band’s trusted recording spot which retained its old name despite a new relocation, Windmill Lane. In another first, these last two studios ran in production with the record simultaneously.

Listen to the best of U2 on Apple Music and  Spotify .

The album arrived in record stores on July 7, only 20 months after Achtung Baby and with 100-plus epic concerts in between. The Edge explained such a marathon of momentum by telling Q magazine, on the road in Italy: “I think we were still surfing on the wave of creative energy from Achtung Baby and the ZOO TV tour when we were making  Zooropa. It was the same burst of inspiration.

Unconscious themes

“When we were working on Achtung Baby , we were looking to discover new sonic terrain, and on this record that was already established, so we were more confident of what we were doing.” Later, he added: “I’m still getting to know the record as well. Often, you don’t begin to see the themes that run through the whole record until some time afterwards, because often they’re not even conscious.”

For the first time, The Edge was named individually as co-producer of a U2 album, along with their unswerving confidant Brian Eno and another new name in the credits, but one who was in reality a U2 veteran. Mark “Flood” Ellis had co-engineered The Joshua Tree and then, after enhancing his reputation immensely by co-producing Nine Inch Nails ’ Pretty Hate Machine and Depeche Mode’s Violator , returned to the U2 fold for Achtung Baby . With Daniel Lanois unavailable for Zooropa , Flood was the perfect choice to step up as co-producer, in what has been an enduring relationship.

Best Alternative Album

Perhaps one of the greatest compliments paid to the record, which topped the UK chart on July 24, was that it went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Album. That accolade was testament to the continuing inquisitive spirit of a band that might by now have been seen as the rock establishment, but were still investigating fresh landscapes and locations with voracious enthusiasm. Spin magazine called the record “the sound of a band shedding its skin.”

U2 - Numb (Official Music Video)

The opening shot for  Zooropa, and the defiant choice as its lead track in June, was the mantra-like, sound effects and sample-drenched “Numb.” It was uncompromising and cutting edge, on the cusp of an almost industrial dance timbre that set the scene for the futuristic course plotted by the full album.

Zooropa offered such a rich palette of sounds to take in, such a wash of instrumental colours and effects to assimilate, that it was wise and appropriate for Bono often to assume a measured, less-is-more vocal delivery. Indeed, on “Numb,” again on the club-friendly “Lemon” and at times on the tender “The First Time,” he showed an entirely new facet by using a falsetto delivery.

Another single, “Stay (Faraway, So Close!),” was used in an alternative version in the Wim Wenders film of its subtitle. That led to a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song; the track also went to No.1 at home in Ireland and into the UK Top 5. Elsewhere on the album, Bono’s lyrics explored areas that he admitted at the time he was only beginning to understand himself.

‘An evil feel to things’

“There’s certainly an evil feel to things like ‘Daddy’s Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car’,” he told Q . “That song could be about dependency or something more sinister. It’s an electronic blues, my Robert Johnson thing. Flogging the soul to Satan.”

The album concluded with one of the most notable collaborations in U2’s history, when a 60-year-old Johnny Cash provided the lead vocal on the closing track, “The Wanderer.” Just as with B.B. King some years earlier, the band’s fascination with the true heartlands of American music helped them to a remarkable achievement with another hero.

Read the stories behind U2’s immense catalog as part of our Behind The Albums series.

The Zooropa tour roared into life, even with the album still in production, at the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam in May. This sensational, stadium-sized rock spectacle raced through Europe all summer long, coming to rest in Dublin in late August before rebooting as Zoomerang in New Zooland, as they affectionately termed it, in November.

Soaring to 7m

By then, Zooropa was on its way to worldwide sales of some seven million, after topping the charts in the UK, the US, Australia, and all over Europe. It was yet more validation of what, even by then, was a unique relationship between four friends.

“As the band has become more successful and achieved more, you find that the people who still know the most about what you do are the other three guys in the band,” said Adam Clayton at the time. “It really is the most exciting combination of people, for any member of the band. Because we’re all out there together trying to find out what’s going on.”

Buy or stream Zooropa .

My favourite U2 album perhaps because it sounds so natural. My relatives and friends hated it, however.

U2 dropped the ultimate sneak peek – to a mass global audience – today with a Super Bowl commercial that has fans wondering if the band is perhaps announcing inter-planetary travel or an out-of-this-world experience. The ad HERE gives a glimpse into their next ambitious project – titled ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere’ – which will see the world’s biggest rock band launch the world’s most exciting all-new state-of-the-art venue, MSG Sphere at The Venetian, in Las Vegas this Fall. This special run of shows marks the band’s first live outing in four years, following the massive success of their acclaimed Joshua Tree 30th anniversary stadium tour which was seen by over 3.2 million fans worldwide and their 2018 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE indoor tour which played to a combined audience of 1 million across Europe and North America.

Fans around the globe can register now HERE to receive more information regarding show dates and on sale details once they are announced.

The full-length trailer announcement can be viewed at www.U2xSPHERE.com and is a celebration of the global U2 community, featuring a select group of new and longtime U2 fans (along with a few band doppelgangers) coming together for a futuristic Achtung Baby adventure in a unique desert landscape.

Acknowledged as the best live act in the world, U2 have always – since their earliest days, including the industry-defining ZOO TV Tour which broke the mold in 1991 – consistently pushed the boundaries of live performance, with ground-breaking stage shows that embrace the latest in technology and innovation. Live Nation’s announcement that the band will launch MSG Sphere, the state-of-the art venue currently dominating the Las Vegas skyline, is fitting for a show from the world’s most thrilling live band.

The announcement comes with confirmation that Larry Mullen Jr. will take time out to undergo and recuperate from surgery in 2023. These Las Vegas shows will see Larry and the band welcome drummer Bram van den Berg who will be sitting in to join Bono, The Edge and Adam Clayton onstage at MSG Sphere.

Bono, The Edge and Adam said, “It’s going to take all we’ve got to approach the Sphere without our bandmate in the drum seat, but Larry has joined us in welcoming Bram van den Berg who is a force in his own right.

The Sphere show has been in the works for a long time. We don’t want to let people down, least of all our audience… the truth is we miss them as much as they appear to miss us… our audience was always the fifth member of the band. Bottom line, U2 hasn’t played live since December 2019 and we need to get back on stage and see the faces of our fans again. And what a unique stage they’re building for us out there in the desert… We’re the right band, ACHTUNG BABY the right album, and the Sphere the right venue to take the live experience of music to the next level… That’s what U2’s been trying to do all along with our satellite stages and video installations, most memorably on the ZOO TV Tour, which ended in Tokyo 30 years ago this Fall.

The Sphere is more than just a venue, it’s a gallery and U2’s music is going to be all over the walls.”

The Edge added – “The beauty of the Sphere is not only the ground-breaking technology that will make it so unique, with the world’s most advanced audio system, integrated into a structure which is designed with sound quality as a priority; it’s also the possibilities around immersive experience in real and imaginary landscapes. In short, it’s a canvas of an unparalleled scale and image resolution and a once-in-a-generation opportunity. We all thought about it and decided we’d be mad not to accept the invitation.”

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. Executive Chairman and CEO James L. Dolan said, “MSG Sphere’s advanced technology allows a legendary band like U2 to bring its music to life in entirely new ways. The Sphere is a new medium that will redefine entertainment.”

MSG Sphere introduces a new medium of entertainment. Fans will feel the impact of the greatest band in the world’s most experiential venue. MSG Sphere introduces the first 16K screen that wraps up, around, and behind the audience. Sphere Immersive Sound delivers pitch perfect audio to every seat in the house. 4D technologies will let the audience feel the wind on their face, the heat on their skin and the rumble of thunder. The ‘U2 UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere’ opening series of shows will tap into this exclusive technology, allowing fans to experience something completely new.

The band has also released “One” from their new album Songs Of Surrender – a collection of 40 seminal U2 songs from across the band’s catalog, re-recorded and reimagined for 2023 in sessions spanning the last two years which sees the band revisit some of the most celebrated songs of their 40+ year career, to be released in full on Friday March 17th. A special world premiere of “One” could be heard during the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Super Bowl feature. 'Zooropa... Don't worry baby, it's gonna be alright…'     Why was Zooropa such an exceptional album?  You tell us!   Add your reviews and memories in the comments below.

Produced by Flood, Brian Eno and The Edge, Zooropa was released on 5th July 1993 on Island Records . U2 began writing and recording Zooropa in Dublin in February of that year, during a six-month break between legs of the industry-defining ZOO TV Tour.  Initially intended as just an EP, Zooropa became a fully-fledged album with 10 tracks – including singles ' Numb ', ' Lemon ' and ' Stay (Faraway, So Close!) ' - recorded in just six weeks, making it the fastest U2 album ever produced.

Inspired by the band's experiences on the ZOO TV Tour, Zooropa expanded on many of the tour's themes of technology and media oversaturation. The album went to Number 1 in Ireland, USA, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland. In 1994, Zooropa saw the band collect the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

Every Time Travis Kelce Caught Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour (So Far!)

The football star has popped up at a handful of Eras Tour stops in the past year, trading bracelets and charming fans along the way

Travis Kelce continues to be in his Taylor Swift era.

The football star has now seen his girlfriend on her worldwide Eras Tour six times — which makes sense, given that she made it to 13 of his Kansas City Chiefs games this past season (including the team's Super Bowl win! ).

Despite the couple's wildly busy schedules, they've both found time to be at each other's sides for important moments.

"Hopefully, everybody realizes we’re just two people supporting each other and having fun with it, man," Kelce shared on a January 2024 episode of The Pat McAfee Show .

Here, see all the times Kelce has hit the road to watch Swift's Eras tour — so far.

The pair's love story started back in July of 2023, when Kelce attended Swift's tour stop on his home field, the Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Weeks later, the tight end revealed on his New Heights podcast that he'd made Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, but didn't get the chance to give it to her.

"I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," he said on the show, playfully adding that he "took it personal" when he couldn't meet her backstage.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Let's fast-forward to several tour stops later, when Kelce jetted down to Argentina on his November 2023 bye week to watch Swift in Buenos Aires during the South America leg of her tour. It's where fans caught a sweet video of Swift running into Kelce's arms for a kiss following the show, after he bonded with her dad Scott in their VIP box.

The night prior to the concert, the couple had a cozy dinner inside their hotel.

A source told PEOPLE that the two "looked so cute on their low-key date night" and that "they also left holding hands." The source added that "the crowd in the restaurant briefly cheered as they walked out" and that "Travis was beaming.”

Sydney, Australia

Following the Chiefs' Super Bowl win — and Swift's epic travel from Tokyo to make it to Las Vegas to watch Kelce play — the footballer traveled to Australia , where he caught his third Eras Tour concert in a suite alongside celebrities including director Baz Luhrmann in February of 2024.

Once again, fans spotted him backstage for a post-concert kiss with Swift, and during their downtime, the couple visited the Sydney Zoo alongside Swift's opener, Sabrina Carpenter.

He opened up about the experience to brother Jason Kelce on New Heights, saying in part, "Saw a tiger sitting up in a treehouse. That s--- was f---ing sweet, ain’t gonna lie. Saw a lion close up. Dude, when you hear that [roar] — ‘cause I had Taylor take a picture — it just was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ ”

Kelce revealed he saw "two amazing shows" when he joined Swift for part of her six-night stint in Singapore in March of 2024. Unlike his previous concert moments, he flew under the radar at these two, though fans did spot the couple walking through a mall during their time together there.

“The architecture's crazy," Kelce told his brother on New Heights, adding that despite the heat, he enjoyed seeing "the world's largest greenhouse" in addition to checking out the gorgeous views and "some lovely Singapore food."

Paris, France

When Swift picked her tour back up in Paris in May of 2024, Kelce was there , joining Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper in a box at La Défense Arena to see the 87th Eras show — a.k.a. the one that aligns with his jersey number.

Kelce sang along to Swift's new songs from her Tortured Poets Department album — specifically the ones about him! — danced, snapped videos and debriefed about it with brother Jason on New Heights.

"I don't know if they're just getting better or if I just keep forgetting how they are," Kelce said when asked how Paris compared to the previous shows he'd seen.

“I'll tell you what. Kansas City showed out,” he gushed . “Argentina was unbelievable. Australia, they partied with the best of them, and they celebrated with the best of them. Those three were unbelievable. Singapore was so unique and so fun. And then Paris was just — it was on a whole another level, man.”

'Reverse Zoo' in China Cages Visitors and Lets Animals Roam Free?

"make them wait until the lions break that padlock and eat them raw," one facebook user commented., aleksandra wrona, published may 13, 2024.

Mixture

About this rating

Lehe Ledu Theme Park is an actual place in China, and it does have a safari attraction wherein visitors can ride in mobile cages and see the animals close up ...

... but that's not the only way to see the animals. Visitors can also travel around in buses, or even in their own cars. There's also an area where you can walk around and see some of the animals in a less-restricted setting.

In April 2024, an image circulated on social media, claiming a "reverse zoo" exists in China that puts visitors inside cages and allows the animals to roam free. As of this writing, one post received over 67,000 reactions, 2,000 comments and 5,200 shares.

zoo tv tour 2023

(Facebook page Factoidz)

Google reverse-image search results showed that the same claim was also spread on Reddit , Instagram , X (formerly Twitter), Facebook , and TikTok .

Various articles on the topic indicated that the viral photographs were captured in "Lehe Ledu wildlife zoo in Chinese Chongqing City," opened in 2015.

New China TV, a Chinese state-owned YouTube channel, published a video with the title, "Caged visitors pay to feed tigers, lions at China zoo." Its description said a zoo in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality was "giving people the chance to feed some of the world's most ferocious animals on their own -- but in cages."

However, contrary to a viral rumor, Lehe Ledu Theme Park in China isn't best described as a "reverse zoo" wherein people are in cages and animals roam free, though it does have a safari attraction in which visitors are driven around in mobile cages. Visitors can also go around in buses or even their own cars. There's also an area where you can walk and see the animals directly.

Lehe Ledu is in Chongqing, China. We found it on  Google Maps  and a Chinese website  Baidu Maps .

Moreover, we found Lehe Ledu Theme Park's official website:  leheledu.com . It  explained  that there were three ways to visit the park's Wildlife World: in a sightseeing bus, on a self-driving tour or in an observation car, also called a "cage car" (we translated the following from Chinese using Google Translate, emphasis ours):

Ledu first recommends that everyone visit Chongqing Wildlife World. (1) After entering the queuing area from the door, you will see the free sightseeing car that visits the animal car park area of the scenic spot. On the sightseeing bus, you can see various beasts such as golden tigers, silver tigers, white tigers, Bengal tigers, lions, black bears, brown bears, wolves, etc. (2) If you want to have a more exciting experience and experience the thrill of crossing among jungle beasts, it is recommended that you go on a self-driving tour (the check-in point for self-driving tours is at the entrance to the parking lot of the scenic spot from the direction of Yongchuan City. If you are not sure, please consult the on-site staff). (3) If you want to get up close and feel the wild nature of predators, it is recommended that you take a ride on the net-type observation car (cage car) or feeding car next to the bus stop.

Therefore, the "cages" were only one of the possible options to see the animals in the zoo. What's more, the website informed that "after the tour of the vehicle area, we will get off at the entrance of the pedestrian area, namely Elephant Square." There is also a pedestrian area, known as Elephant Square. A promotional video of the park shows different angles of the park, including shots of the visitors feeding animals from the so-called cages.

zoo tv tour 2023

In other parts of the zoo, tourists can even be seen touching the animals (see screenshot below).

zoo tv tour 2023

In sum, Lehe Ledu Theme Park in China isn't accurately described as a "reverse zoo," as visitors also have options to tour the safari park by bus or car and explore pedestrian areas to observe the animals.

We have fact-checked other China-related claims in the past. For instance, in March 2024 we investigated whether a viral video showed a cliff walk in a Chinese national park. Moreover, we debunked a fake video shared in January 2024, allegedly showing a 1,200-meter-long grass slide in Inner Mongolia, China.

How Pink’s Kids Are Shaping Up to Be Rockstars Like Their Mom

Pink detailed how her kids, willow and jameson—who she shares with her husband carey hart—are enjoying her summer carnival tour and their career aspirations..

Pink 's her kids are f--king perfect to her.

In fact, the "Raise Your Glass" singer (real name Alecia Beth Moore ) recently detailed what it's been like to have her kids Willow , 12, and Jameson , 7—who she shares with husband of 18 years Carey Hart —join her on her Summer Carnival tour and revealed whether or not they may be following in her musical footsteps.

As Pink summed up family's time on the road in an exclusive E! News interview May 14, "It's impossible, it's beautiful, it's memory-making."

But as for whether she expects to one day join Willow and Jameson on their own tours?

"She's going to be a trauma surgeon," the 44-year-old noted of Willow, before adding of Jameson, "He'll be a DJ in Vegas."

And while Willow has joined her mom on stage in the past, the Grammy winner noted that they tend to have different musical preferences. "She's into Broadway musical theater more so than all this pop business," Pink continued. "She said she would like to get Broadway out of the way so she can be a trauma surgeon."

And Pink is convinced her daughter can handle an eclectic future, adding, "She's very smart."

If anyone's child could handle a career in medicine and Broadway, it would be Pink's. After all, the "Try" singer has never been one to stick to the status quo—and continues to defy expectations with her own career.

"Everyone told me, ‘If you have children right now, your career's over,'" she explained to Apple Music's  Zane Lowe in 2023. "Obviously, we're all much more complex than any of that, but when I had a child, I think it softened me to the world, the part that didn't understand me. And I think that's when my career began, really. I mean, I did a lot of stuff before that, but really, truly, I think it's when I started to really understand myself and understand the world and my place in it."

Of course, Pink's career has only continued to blossom since she welcomed Willow 2011, and later Jameson in 2016. In fact, she's currently amid her eighth concert tour, which has already amassed over $250 million.

And her off-road truck racer husband put it simply in a heartfelt Mother's Day post May 12 .

"These kids are gonna be amazing humans thanks to you," he wrote. "I'm proud of all of your hard work, time, and love that you put into our family."

The singer, who earned the Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards , walked the red carpet with her kids, Willow and Jameson.

The singer and her daughter steal the show at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards with their head-turning performance (literally!).

The family that does acrobatics together...

The "Raise Your Glass" singer looks in awe of her daughter, as she shows off her acrobatic skills.

Pink's daughter, Willow, was all about solving a giant puzzle backstage.

Pink took time to mediate with her kids. She wrote on Instagram , "Family Portrait #toofunnynottoshare #mylife #worthit #familyband"

Willow and her father, Carey Hart , shared a sweet cuddle while on the road.

The 40-year-old performer and her son, Jameson, took the driver's seat of a forklift backstage.

The Pennsylvania native took a break on tour to explore Italy with her family.

On Instagram, Pink responded after being criticized for letting her kids run at Holocaust Memorial. She wrote , "Berlin, I love you. #holocaustmemorial #panamarestaurant #cocktailclasses #history #herstory #worldtour and for all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers family. The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves."

The "So What" singer bonded with her son at the Hamburg Zoo before taking stage for her Beautiful Trauma tour in the German city.

Pink took a moment to celebrate America's Independence day while traveling in Germany. She wrote  on Instagram, "Happy 4th of July. May we all find independence wherever we are. #freedomandlove #wishesforall #universal #love #germany"

Like mother, like daughter. Pink shared this sweet photo on Instagram of her and her daughter carrying musical instruments backstage with the caption, "The family that trumpets together...."

Pink clapped back when fans criticized her for posting a photo of her son without a diaper. She wrote , "There's something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Going off about my baby's penis? About circumcision??? Are you for real? As any normal mother at the beach, I didn't even notice he took off his swim diaper. I deleted it because you're all fucking disgusting. And now I'm turning off my comments and shaking my head at the state of social media and keyboard warriors, And the negativity that you bring to other people's lives. There is something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there. Smfh. Here's a picture of the pelican we obviously caught and abused for hours before dangling baby penis in its face."

Pink spent the day with her children on a yacht and simply captioned the photo with a heart emoji.

"We celebrated our 100th show of the tour tonight in San Antonio with one of the best crowds ever. What a night," Pink captioned this celebratory post. "I'm holding Willows ears so I can say how I really feel about it."

"Art night in Shreveport #tourlife #dreamcatchers #travelinfamilyband," the proud mama captioned the snapshot.

Carey and Jameson enjoy some quality time backstage.

Pink and Willow visited the Oklahoma City Memorial to honor those affected by 1995's Oklahoma City bombing.

Pink shared on Instagram, "Truck stops in Texas. Don't ask, just do it."

The pop star took her son to a cemetery in Lafayette.

"Shooting the s--t before the first show #thankyoueveryoneforyouramazingenergytonight," Pink wrote on Instagram , alongside this photo of her and kids before taking the stage in Phoenix for her first Beautiful Trauma world tour.

Pink's son sat inside a Mitsubishi forklift truck backstage.

"Road life parent fail. Hotel room Bmx session," Pink's husband Carey Hart  wrote .

Pink's son, Jameson, wore a pair of Baby Banz noise-cancelling headphones as he and his dad watch the singer perform.

Willow and Jameson enjoy some time in a rec room.

"Thanks Tampa," Pink wrote on Instagram . "Who's ready for the show tonight?!"

Roosevelt Park Zoo mourns loss of giraffe calf Jabari

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - The Roosevelt Park Zoo said one of its baby giraffes has passed away.

The giraffe, named Jabari , was found by a zookeeper in its barn on Saturday morning. The zoo learned the giraffe had gotten its head caught on the cover of its hay feeder, and, in a panic, tried to pull back, which broke the giraffe’s neck.

The zoo says its staff are shaken up by the incident and are looking into ways to prevent this from happening again.

The baby giraffe was born at the zoo in August of 2023 .

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour could give the UK economy a $1.2 billion boost

By vicky mckeever,cnbc • published may 16, 2024 • updated on may 16, 2024 at 2:42 am.

  • Barclays says Taylor Swift fans are expected to spend over $1,000 on average to see the singer on the U.K. leg of her Eras Tour.
  • "Swiftonomics" is used to describe the economic influence of the musician, as fans flock to her shows around the world.

The economic impact of tours by superstar musicians, including Swift, Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen, has been observed more broadly as a trend in recent times.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is set to provide a £997 million ($1.2 billion) boost to the U.K. economy, according to Barclays, which predicts fans will spend an average £848 to see the singer.

Data from the British bank, published Wednesday, showed that Eras Tour-ticket holders are predicted to fork out more than 12 times the average cost of a night out in the U.K. (£67) and more than double that spent attending a U.K.-based wedding (£398).

Barclays' "Swiftonomics" report said the average amount spent on an Eras Tour ticket is £206. Other expected costs include £121 on accommodation, £111 on travel and £56 on clothes to wear at the concert.

The bank also expects ticket-holders to splash out an average of £79 on official merchandise on the U.K. leg of the Eras Tour, which kicks off in June. That's along with £59 on a meal before the concert and an additional £216 on other costs, including drinks and vinyl records.

Based on that total spend of £848 by nearly 1.2 million ticket-holders, across 15 nights at four stadiums, Barclays predicted that the tour will rake in £997 million.

"When it comes to cultural icons like Taylor Swift – like we saw with Elvis and Beatlemania in the 50s and 60s – supporters have such a strong connection to the artist and to the rest of the fandom that the desire to spend becomes even more powerful," said Peter Brooks, a chief behavioral scientist at Barclays.
