New Mangalore, India Port Guide

The coastal city in South India known as Mangalore, or Mangaluru, is just beginning to come into its own as a destination. Unlike other stops on an India cruise , like Dubai and Mumbai, Mangalore is far more laid back. Home to a variety of low-key beaches, sacred temples, and historic sights, a Mangalore cruise destination is a great place to catch your breath. Of course, you could spend all your time here going from temple to temple, like the 9th century Mangaladevi Temple, which honors the god Shakti, or Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, which is universally adored for its peaceful, ambient atmosphere contrasted with complete grandeur.

When you go off the beaten path in India on your Mangalore cruise, you’ll quickly discover that quality is better than quantity when it comes to sightseeing. What Mangalore lacks in things to do it makes up for in incredible restaurants, parks, and beaches, like Panambur Beach, which is considered one of India’s most popular and cleanest beaches. When you’re done beach and temple hopping, stop into one of the city’s top restaurants for traditional South Indian cuisine, like Mangalore buns or one of the region’s famous fish fries.

Please Note: While we don't currently sail to New Mangalore, you can still discover the beauty of the country on one of our India cruises . Browse our luxury cruises to India below.

Top sights & attractions for cruises to new mangalore, sultan battery.

Just outside of Mangalore is a town called Sultan Battery, which is best known for its watchtower and historic Jain temple nearby. Travelers can climb to the top of the watchtower for a panoramic vista of the Arabian Sea in the distance, which is particularly pretty at sunset.

Mangaladevi Temple

Head on a tour of the Mangaladevi Temple for a trip back in time to the 9th century. An afternoon walking the temple’s grounds will give you a new appreciation for Hindu heritage in Mangalore. It’s said that Mangalore was named partly in honor of this significant temple.

St. Aloysius Chapel

In the center of Mangalore you’ll find a powder-blue Christian church called St. Aloysius Chapel, which was built by missionaries in 1878. Paintings on the ceiling and church walls all tell different religious stories. It’s a must-see for history buffs curious about the movement of Christian tradition in India. Guided tours are free.

Top Things to Do in New Mangalore

Take a break at tannirbhavi beach.

Your stop on a Mangalore cruise should include a relaxing afternoon or a romantic sunset at Tannirbhavi Beach, which you can get to from Mangalore by ferry or by traveling across the Kuloor Bridge via car. Nature lovers will appreciate the sea breeze and fresh air. There’s even a park dedicated to rare species of regional trees.

Relax at Pilikula Nisargadhama

Pilikula Nisargadhama offers a little bit of everything for travelers and is one of the biggest attractions in Mangalore. There’s a science center, a planetarium, and a zoo where you can see leopards, tigers, lions, rare snakes, and other exotic species up close. It’s a perfect excursion for kids and families. Plus, a recreation of a historic village offers a quaint restaurant and items from local artisans.

Tour the Hindu Temple Gokarnanatheshwara

You’ll be amazed as you approach this incredible red and gold temple, which was built in 1912 to honor the divine god Shiva. Walk inside and marvel at the ornate interior of the temple, where paintings throughout the temple tell stories of the rich Hindu tradition. It’s a must-see any time of year as you stop on your Mangalore cruise.

Top Food and Drink Spots Near the New Mangalore Cruise Port

The New Taj Mahal Café

If you’re looking for a traditional Mangalorean breakfast, come to the New Taj Mahal Cafe for coffee and the area’s famous Mangalore buns. It’s casual and inexpensive, but also offers daily specials and lunch fare, too.

Pabba’s Ice Cream Shop

Satisfy your sweet tooth at Pabba’s, a quaint dessert place in Mangalore where the ice cream has attracted a cult following. It’s one of the best spots for treats in Mangalore, where dozens of flavors include the classics and some fun surprises, like jackfruit, roasted almond, tiramisu, and more.

Pallkhi is one of the oldest spots in the city, and the restaurant rooftop makes for a particularly romantic dinner during your time in Mangalore. Vegetarian options abound here, plus plenty of locally sourced seafood mains like tandoori garlic prawns or masala fry crab.

For a casual atmosphere there’s Maharaja, which touts itself as family friendly and laid back. Try dishes like the chicken thali, or the crab roasted in ghee. Rich flavors, thalis, and authentic North Indian dishes are done consistently well here, whether you’re hungry for butter chicken, biryani, or crispy paneer.

Culture & History of the New Mangalore Cruise Port

Because of the area’s geography and proximity to the sea, the area around Mangalore has always been enviable and attractive for trading as early as the 1500s. Later, the British fought to claim the area, and finally succeeded in taking over Mangalore for Britain in 1799. More recently, Mangalore is becoming known as a relaxing beach destination and a spot for hopping from historic temple to historic temple. Today, Mangalore is growing commercial jobs and becoming a hub for information technology (IT) careers.

New Mangalore Port Facilities & Location

When your ship docks at your Mangalore cruise destination, you’ll be located about 20 minutes from the heart of the city. The port is in the process of improvements, but it already has some much-appreciated amenities like free wifi, souvenirs, and duty-free shopping. The port was established in 1974 and is one of the largest cargo ports in India.

Transportation in New Mangalore

Once your Mangalore cruise ship docks in port, a 10 minute-walk will get you to the edge of the port where you can hail a taxi. Taxis will take you into the city of New Mangalore in less than 20 minutes. Uber and the ride-sharing app Ola Cabs have begun to grow in popularity in this part of India. During your time in New Mangalore, taxis and ride-shares are the easiest options for getting back to the ship, and you can explore other sights in the city center on foot.

Shopping Near the New Mangalore Cruise Port

If you’re shopping at a market or souvenir shop, you can haggle and bargain with your vendor to snag a deal. Beyond the duty-free shopping in the port area, the market and mall scene is good for clothing, jewelry, and handmade local goods. Head to Central Market for snacks, fresh produce, and vegetables, and to interact with locals as they buy food items in this bustling market. There’s a shuttle bus from the New Mangalore port to City Center Mall as well, which is a good option for travelers interested in brand name clothing. It even has a movie theater if you want to catch a film.

Local Currency & Tipping Customs

During your time in New Mangalore, use the official currency of India, the rupee, to make purchases. Credit cards are generally accepted in New Mangalore, but it’s a good rule of thumb to check before using one while out at a store or restaurant, and to carry extra rupees just in case. Don’t forget to tip 10-15% of your total bill when at restaurants, or round up to the nearest rupee for your taxi driver.

Located on the southwestern coast of India, Mangalore is a city of many temples: The Kadri Manjunath and Kudroli Gokarnath temples are top destinations. If the beach calls you, Surathkal and Tannirbavi both stand out. Back in town, see a traditional south Indian dance performance or perhaps encounter a festival honouring a local deity. Culinary daredevils will relish the fiery meat and seafood curries, then cool off your tongue with local ice cream at the Ideals parlour - Gadbad is a favourite.

CARNIVAL CELEBRATION: GREAT FUN TOGETHER, ALL POWERED BY LNG

You know, it’s hard work making effortlessly-fun vacations. That’s why we’re looking forward to kicking back with you on the new Carnival Celebration as we toast to the last 50 years. So please bring that unique Carnival spirit... and know that this ship’s bringing the fun. Just like sister ship Mardi Gras ® , Carnival Celebration has six Zones — themed areas that bring together incredible experiences and flavor. New flavors you haven’t experienced yet — nobody has! — are heating up at Latitudes™ , The Golden Jubilee™ and Emeril’s Bistro 1397™ . (Mmm, new Emeril.) Carnival Celebration also marks the return of innovations like BOLT ® — our onboard rollercoaster, Bonsai Teppanyaki™ , RedFrog ® Tiki Bar , Family Feud™ Live , Havana Bar™ , Seuss at Sea™ , and Playlist Productions™ . Perhaps best of all, all the fun you’ll have on Carnival Celebration is powered by clean LNG fuel!

MEET THE GODMOTHER

It’s Cassidy Gifford! We all know Cassidy’s mom, Kathie Lee Gifford, from some of the most memorable moments in Carnival’s history. But among Kathie Lee’s proudest accomplishments is definitely her daughter, who’s now serving as godmother to Carnival Celebration. (Just as Kathie Lee did for the original M.S. Celebration!) Cassidy grew up around Carnival, spending countless family vacations at sea, and plenty of time on the set of TV shoots… which she still does today — Cassidy’s an actress. We can’t wait to welcome both daughter and mother aboard this amazing ship!

MEET THE NAMING CEREMONY

New ships usually start sailing with a naming ceremony, to help send the ship on its way with everyone’s best wishes. But you can probably guess that when Carnival does a naming ceremony, it’s all that… plus a show, plus a party! For Carnival Celebration this involved the ship’s godmother Cassidy Gifford and her mom, Carnival legend Kathie Lee. Plenty of other fun folks were on-hand, including Emeril, who was there to cut the ribbon at his new restaurant, Bistro 1397… and the whole event coincided with the big ribbon cutting of the amazing Terminal F at PortMiami. Now that’s what we call a naming! Let’s sail!

LET’S CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF VACATIONING OUR WAY

Carnival Celebration ® has six Zones to explore, and each gets you deep into fun. Stay and play a while, relax with refreshment and more.

Celebration Central

Celebration Central is designed to make an impression… and that’s good because it’s going to be your first one! You can count on Carnival Celebration’s atrium to set the vacay vibes for your whole cruise. Look up and you’re honestly in for an eyeful — floor-to-ceiling windows, 14-foot LED screens, a ceiling of 1,400 color-changing lights… everything points to BIG FUN happening in here. And even if you’re just passing through, know that you’ll definitely be back later. Center Stage features a rotating selection of live entertainment, while Tropicale Bar serves up great drinks with a nostalgia chaser nodding to our first ship to sport the iconic red, white and blue funnel. Aquaria Bar features an ocean-themed glass mural pulled from Carnival Victory that’s now a two-deck high decorative wall. (Also: great drinks here too!) Then there’s fan-faves, from cups of comfort at JavaBlue ™ Café to great eats at Bonsai Sushi ™ and Bonsai Teppanyaki ™ , and some very entertaining reasons to come back, like Piano Bar 88 , The Punchliner Comedy Club ™ and more.

The Gateway

When you’re cruising on Carnival Celebration there’s just so much destination to be found… even right on board. That’s because here, in The Gateway zone, “international flavor” isn’t just an expression, but a way of life! Design, décor, cuisine and even the entertainment is inspired by grand locations, landmarks from around the world. You’ll find a rotating selection of these vistas brilliantly displayed right on the innovative LED windows and ceiling, plus theme nights that match — including Abroad in Europe, Far East Voyage and Mexico Lindo — which each feature food, drink and entertainment to match. But every moment is a special occasion thanks to onboard spots that are proud to import their flavor from all over. We’re talking restaurants and bars like Latitudes ™ with its old-school railway station vibe, The Golden Jubilee ™ featuring a unique mix of great drinks and live music, plus Emeril’s Bistro 1397 ™ , which is deliciously all over the map. And don’t miss your chance to sip a little cocktail magic at returning fan-favorite Alchemy Bar ® .

Summer Landing

Go ahead and call Summer Landing 'the greatest chill spot at sea'... and we'll be right there with you, any time of year! What's three letters long and goes great with chilling outdoors? BBQ, so we're building a Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse into this zone so it always tastes like summer here with freshly-smoked faves designed by Guy Fieri and original Parched Pig ® beers brewed just feet away. If you're wondering where the pool and whirlpool are, we're so alike, you and us... and that's why we're sure you're gonna love The Watering Hole , a poolside bar we're building for aficionados of backyard-style relaxation. And for military folks — or folks who just want to raise a glass to them — please report to Heroes Tribute ™ Lounge for great service. We know you guys like soft serve too, so we're throwing in a Swirls ™ location — one of two! And why wouldn't we? At Summer Landing, fun this cool is literally always in season.

820 Biscayne

We’re at home anywhere we sail… but you can only have one hometown, and for Carnival that is unmistakably Miami. So it’s not hard at all to locate the inspiration for 820 Biscayne on Carnival Celebration. If you’re wondering about the nameplate, that’s the address where it all got started — but nobody has to wonder where all the fun, flavor and good looks you’ll find in this zone were sourced. After all, it’s so authentically Miami… just check out the art deco designs, neon splashes and great flavors! On that note there’s Bar 820 for tropical cocktails and Cuban coffee, plus Deco Deli serving up a selection of classic sandwiches… Cuban faves included. And while Miami isn’t quite known as a pizza town, we don’t think you’ll mind that we’re serving up the cheesy stuff until 4 a.m. at Miami Slice . (Roll up your sleeves and dig in!) And like any cosmopolitan center, dining quality and variety counts big. That’s why you’ll find Cucina del Capitano and Rudi’s Seagrill restaurants in the neighborhood.

If you’ve cruised with us before, you know Lido ... but aboard Carnival Celebration ® this poolside zone features even more delicious and fun experiences among the familiar flavors. Evolving the classic poolside rum-bar was a tall order, but RedFrog Tiki Bar will be serving up the good stuff across two decks’ worth of South Pacific atmosphere. Also first-time-fresh is Street Eats , bringing together highlights from the world’s fast-good cuisine like kebab, bao buns and seriously upgraded fries. Shaq’s latest Big Chicken ™ restaurant is here, and fan-fave spots like Guy’s Burger Joint ™ , the New England-inspired Seafood Shack ™ , and BlueIguana Cantina ™ taco spot aren’t done with your taste buds yet. And for folks hoping we haven’t forgotten: yes, Lido is absolutely home to one of two Swirls ™ locations, the free soft-serve spot!

THE ULTIMATE PLAYGROUND

Don't let the name fool you — this zone is ages everybody and up. Kids, you're going to love this. And adults, the playground has grown up with you. So yay for play! Of course The Ultimate Playground starts with BOLT ® , the first rollercoaster at sea, an all-electric thrill ride that puts the power of speed in your hands. But that's only the beginning — this playground has the largest Carnival WaterWorks ™ ever with three huge spiraling slides, plus SportSquare ™ is here featuring an entire mini-golf course, full-court basketball and a ropes course. And, of course, more. Ultimate enough for you?

LET’S CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF PACKING LOADS OF FUN TO GO

Carnival Celebration ® welcomes back so many fun fan favorites… while inviting hot new innovations along for one spectacular ride.

BOLT: ULTIMATE SEA COASTER

Aboard Carnival Celebration ® you’ll meet BOLT ® : the fastest — and first! — rollercoaster at sea. Strap in and zoom your motorcycle-style speed machine around an open-air course high, high above sea level. You know how on most rollercoasters... actually, never mind. Forget other coasters because this all-electric thrill ride puts you in the driver’s seat. That means you actually get to control how fast you go, so hit the gas and try for the fastest time, go for the biggest thrill — plus some amazing 360° ocean views! And for the folks who choose to chill: go light on the pedal, and this just might be the coaster for you!

Space Cruisers

Exploration is one reason we love Carnival cruises, but why stop at the seas? For cruisers ages 2–11, there’s a new vacation experience introducing kids at Camp Ocean to the wonder of space exploration. Space Cruisers ™ , debuting on Carnival Celebration, was developed in partnership with the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, so budding astronomy fans can enjoy NASA-inspired activities to help them blast off to a love of the cosmos. Activities vary by age group, but some include designing a personal mission patch, building and racing Mars Rovers, designing and testing bridge physics, playing space-themed bingo, plus hands-on learning about how objects orbit in space. 3, 2, 1… FUN!

The classic railway-inspired mechanical flap board is definitely the first thing you’ll notice about Latitudes ™ , but what sticks with you about this bar may just be something else. For instance, the drinks: specialty cocktails crafted not just to refresh, not merely to delight… but to actually match the scenery. What scenery, you’re wondering? At Latitudes no matter where we’re sailing, the views come to you from any corner of the world. Innovative virtual windows invite you to take in some of Earth’s most breathtaking views as you sit back and sip something delicious, whether you’re here for a special event, an occasion celebration… or simply a delicious departure from the ordinary.

Family Feud Live

The show has been delighting viewers at home for generations, but you never had the chance to buzz-in on a cruise ship… until now! Carnival ships are the only place you’ll find Family Feud™ Live, and on every sailing we’ll be hosting games on an authentic Family Feud™ set — right down to the iconic Face-Off podium, plus all the excitement of Fast Money. Family Feud Live will be emceed by none other than your cruise director, so if you’re game, sign up your team of five for an audition… and make sure they bring that Family Feud spirit. And, of course, everybody’s welcome to grab a seat in the audience to catch all the hilarious action!

For those who flock to waterparks just ready to make a splash, we’d suggest sliding on over to WaterWorks ™ aboard Carnival Celebration ® . Three large-scale spiraling slides, a giant dumping bucket, twin racing slides and more — you know, the works — are all practically overflowing for your hydro-delight. When you spot the big slides on board you’ll see that they mean business, splashy business: Blue Lightning ™ is packed with headfirst, high-speed twists and turns, while Orange Thunder ™ starts you off standing before propelling you down into a world of wetness… and of course, our signature Twister ™ slide keeps on thrilling splash-seekers.

CENTER STAGE + PLAYLIST PRODUCTIONS

They’re not plays, they’re not exactly concerts… these shows are something else entirely. Every performances is built on amazing songs you know and love, presented like you’ve never seen before. Multi-talented performers fill the stage with song, dance... and superstar attitude. Then they sometimes leave the stage behind, like in The Most Magnificent Circus and We Are One where they soar above the audience. Or Color My World , a show where they break into actual live-graffiti painting, right on stage. Carnival Celebration plays host to a lineup of all-new shows, plus fan-favorites Celestial Strings , which reimagines rock and pop favorites as symphonic classical compositions, and Amor Cubano with the rhythmic sounds of today’s Latin hits.

SERENITY ADULT-ONLY RETREAT

Somebody at Carnival knows just what you need, and it's pretty much exactly the Serenity Adult-Only Retreat ™ . Look, you'll still be on the same ship as the kids, the hoopla, and all the Carnival-style excitement... but you could easily forget, because when you're at Serenity you could not be further from it all. The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes and, of course, a nearby bar. It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all.

The Golden Jubilee

Even when you’re looking to the future, you still think about the past. So that’s why — if you were us — you might pay tribute to 50 years of Carnival fun and history by creating a space like The Golden Jubilee ™ ! The atmosphere makes you want to grab a vintage cocktail (lucky for you, that’s the house specialty) and raise a glass with your neighbor… but this bar is just as much an entertainment spot, helping the good times flow with a stage that puts you up close to live performances. The décor transports you decades back through time, and this aesthetic is made of actual artifacts from Carnival ships of the past, mixed with design elements inspired by our earliest ships. Outside, there’s even a Carnival history exhibit! They built great stuff back then, and we still do! This may just remind you to think about the fun history you’re creating throughout your vacation.

CLOUD 9 SPA

True or false: cruises are a time for relaxation. Our answer: whether you're all action all the time, or chill to the core, everybody needs a chance to take it easy! And nobody will find an easier spot than Cloud 9 Spa ™ aboard Carnival Celebration ® . This is an oasis built from the ground up for relaxation, from a full complement of traditional spa services like massages, facials, body wraps to the carefully-designed climates of Cloud 9's thermal suites... rooms swirling with moist or dry air, each heated very precisely. It turns out it's true: anyone can find a reason to say 'ahhh' at Carnival Celebration's Cloud 9 Spa.

THE PUNCHLINER COMEDY CLUB

Carnival Celebration ® has its own Punchliner Comedy Club in the Celebration Central zone, and up on stage you’ll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening. You can count on these comedians to not hold back either. Since some of them get up and say exactly what’s on their mind, we also schedule family-friendly performances… so the only red faces in the audience are from laughing a little too hard.

SO THAT’S ALL THE FUN ON CARNIVAL CELEBRATION ® ?

LET’S CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF PUTTING FLAVOR WHERE IT COUNTS

Carnival Celebration ® connects our chefs’ savvy with your plate at every mealtime, snacktime and pizza-time (that one’s open anytime until 4 a.m.!).

Emeril's Bistro 1397

Emeril’s second restaurant at sea does something a little different. While the heart of Emeril’s Bistro 1397 ™ is in the same delicious place — his hometown Creole dishes from New Orleans — the new restaurant also keeps its passport at the ready, collecting extra flavor inspiration from every corner of the world. Then it serves up international dishes… all with Emeril’s signature culinary flair! From one day to the next you’ll find new stuff on the menu — so make sure to come back and see what surprising specialties are ready to delight you for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Cucina del Capitano

At Cucina del Capitano ® on Carnival Celebration ® , who you’ve got gathered around the table is truly as important as what’s being served there. At our table you’ll enjoy delicious Italian favorites — we serve them family-style because we know that sharing large plates and sharing tales of your day’s adventures goes hand-in-hand. Speaking of which, our walls are adorned with old snapshots from our officers’ family albums, proving that the rustic Italian-farmhouse atmosphere definitely isn’t for show. Tip: Great news! Your first meal at Cucina del Capitano is on the house… and additional visits are just $8.

Big Chicken

When Shaq tells you to build a chicken joint on board, you start warming up immediately. The big guy brings his poultry know-how and good taste to the seas with Big Chicken ™ on Carnival Celebration ® . Just like Shaq’s a multitalented entertainer, his restaurant is no one-trick chick. Step up to the counter for lunch or dinner and walk away with your choice of chicken sandwiches, crispy chicken strips or juicy fried chicken baskets... plus side dishes like potato salad and jalapeño slaw. Early-morning buzzer-beaters are invited to enjoy a breakfast of classics like chicken biscuits, a three-cheese omelet or our biscuit/egg combo featuring bacon or sausage. Snoozers are invited, too — breakfast is served until 3!

Rudi’s Seagrill

Rudi’s Seagrill ™ is the brainchild of cookbook author and master chef Rudi Sodamin. He has years of experience pleasing palates of vacationers… and this guy loves serving up a smile as much as Carnival does! But he’s serious about seafood, and an evening at Rudi’s proves it through the courses. Enjoy selections like seafood bisque and crab-stuffed lobster tail imperial — all served with an elegant flair that pays proper tribute to the beauty of the ocean from which so much fun, and flavor, arises.

Bonsai Teppanyaki

It’s a meal, a performance, and it’s definitely unforgettable. The Bonsai Teppanyaki ™ experience is set to delight guests aboard Carnival Celebration ® . Take a little time out of vacation to sit down to a selection of tempting appetizers, before your chef prepares the main course featuring selections of meats, tofu, fish, shrimp or lobster… right at your table. In the teppanyaki tradition — and Carnival’s tradition of fun — expect an interactive, satisfying meal full of surprise and delicious delight.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse

With choices like brisket, sausage, baby back ribs and dry-rubbed chicken, our pros do the smoking right there over hickory wood before serving them up at your table. You’re in Guy Fieri’s house — Carnival Celebration ® has Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse. Now about the brews: this house of BBQ tradition doesn’t just satisfy your hunger — you’ll also enjoy our all-new, exclusive line of Parched Pig ™ craft brews. There’s a smoked porter, a farmhouse ale, a hoppy IPA and a toasted amber, all brewed just feet from your table. Tip: Come by and check out the free menu at lunchtime, plus live music and lively atmosphere all day.

Bonsai Sushi

So maybe you’ve had sushi before, but have you tried it at Bonsai Sushi ™ ? This is Carnival’s onboard seafood-and-soy-sauce spot, and we think you’ll enjoy our latest location, aboard Carnival Celebration ® . Dine indoors or out amidst carefully-pruned bonsai trees, while enjoying a delectable menu with sit-down service. Rounding out the meal: soups, sides, sakes and desserts. So the next time you’re taking a stroll down the onboard promenade, stop at Bonsai Sushi for a roll, a box or maybe order a whole sushi ship — seaborne satisfaction for two.

Guy's Burger Joint

We call Carnival Celebration ® 's onboard burger spot Guy’s Burger Joint ™ . We teamed up with Guy Fieri to design not just the burgers and fries, but to help bring in the kind of rustic atmosphere you’d find at a roadside burger shack somewhere off a coastal highway. All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555 ™ , a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land. Except this one’s at sea — aboard Carnival Celebration ® . Ours features your choice of steak cuts, lobster, lamb and more… and inside, there’s even a full bar that pours great pairings. These are the building blocks of an amazing experience — delectable elements that combine with great service to offer an evening to remember.

Street Eats

Some of the world’s favorite flavors aren’t found in restaurants, but on the street in trucks, stalls and carts where flavor, convenience... and quality matter. That’s right, when you’re just feet from the chef, you know they’re cooking to impress! Street Eats is Carnival’s tribute to this food phenomenon, with three ever-changing open-air stations. The first, Steam Dream , specializes in the steamiest stuff this side of the spa, featuring favorites like bao buns and pot stickers. Then there’s Mad Sizzle , which puts the “skill” in skillet with the likes of kebab and satay. And we’re definitely not about to forget Time Fries , which serves up every cruiser’s dream: fries loaded up with culinary creations from our chefs, like cheesesteak fries! On Carnival Celebration ® you may be far from the street, but flavor’s right around the corner.

Seafood Shack

A good seafood dish… mmm, quite the catch. However you like yours — roll, bowl or platter — Seafood Shack ™ is Carnival Celebration's place for you to cast your net. Imagine a seaside spot in New England, where the locals gather for great meals served with a bit of a breeze and a lot of a view. (That said, nowhere on land will you get 360-degree ocean views like ours!) Look to Seafood Shack for rustic favorites like Crab Cake Sliders, Lobster BLT, Fried Buffalo Shrimp, Snow Crab and more. Steer a course for Carnival Celebration ® ... that’s where you’ll find this little shack by the sea, wherever in the world you happen to be!

AND THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST COURSE!

LET’S CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF AMAZING HOMES AWAY FROM HOME

Carnival Celebration ® wouldn’t be complete without a place for you to settle in and recharge after a long day’s fun. And we have so many choices to fit you just right.

STATEROOM DESIGN

Design is more than just the way things look — it's as much about how they work. And staterooms aboard Carnival Celebration ® are packed with innovative changes to both. It's the way the ring-lit vanity mirror lights you evenly and shadow-free as you get ready. How the ottoman cushion flips over to serve as an extra table. And even those reading lights, recessed into the wall so you can read in bed without waking anyone! These details are really more than just details. Better comfort, lighting and storage all spring from a deep understanding we've developed around how people actually use their staterooms… and how small changes to the room add up to make the experience that much better. (Enough USB charging ports for everybody’s stuff? Oh yes!) Thoughtful, guest-centric design is how we do it… and all this in-room convenience comes paired with a fresh new look.

Havana Staterooms & Suites

Consider your Havana stateroom or suite your own island resort aboard Carnival Celebration ® . Most important is the exclusive location: near the Havana Bar & Pool. This relaxation pool is your members-only spot, and the bar's a fun-for-all hotspot when the sun goes down. Indoors, all Havana staterooms feature a unique décor, but step up to a Havana Cabana for an extra-large outdoor chill space. Step into a Havana Cabana suite for even more space, plus a luxurious rain shower. (All Havana stateroom guests must be 12 or older.)

Cloud 9 Spa Staterooms & Suites

Cloud 9 Spa ™ staterooms on Carnival Celebration ® feature exclusive décor and in-room amenities to help soothe you after a long day’s fun — spa bathrobes and slippers, plus toiletries by Elemis. Book one of these staterooms and enjoy priority spa reservations, unlimited access to the thermal suites, free fitness classes, exclusive discounts and more! And you can have comfort and value — Carnival Celebration's got a full range of Cloud 9 staterooms in all sizes, from cozy Interiors to stretch-out Suites.

Family Harbor Staterooms & Suites

Family Harbor staterooms, with their unique nautical décor, can be found near Carnival Celebration’ own Family Harbor Lounge — an exclusive spot with breakfast, snacks during the day, plus board games, family movies, video games and more. The benefits don’t end there — your little girls and boys eat free in most onboard specialty restaurants and get a free evening of Night Owls babysitting service, so you can enjoy a little alone time.

Interior Staterooms

Here’s the most affordable way to experience Carnival Celebration ® , without cutting even a single corner in the comfort department. With an Interior stateroom you’ll get a full private bathroom, your choice of bed size and layout — covered in linens you can feel at home in — all of which make this truly a great spot for curling up after a long day’s fun.

Ocean View Staterooms

These comfy rooms with a view let you take in the scenery as you sail toward your beautiful destinations. And how about those views? Nowhere on land will you find anything like ‘em. But the views aren’t all that matters here — Ocean View staterooms on Carnival Celebration ® are a little bit bigger than Interior rooms and most feature a supremely loungeable couch for those times when neither lying nor standing will do.

Balcony Staterooms

Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Celebration ® , you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em.

Get all the comforts of home, and even a few extras. Since your huge Suite on Carnival Celebration ® affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks! (Carnival Excel Suites pack even more, like concierge service and access to Loft 19™.) A Suite is the ultimate way to enjoy the ship, and the extra comfort definitely goes a long way, with more room to put your feet up or stretch out on the extra-large balcony.

Loft 19 ™ was designed to afford you a unique opportunity for relaxation and indulgence. This retreat-style space invites you to soak up the sun all day from the comfort of a lounge chair or infinity whirlpool. This pairs so perfectly with Carnival Excel suites that staying in one actually gets you Loft 19 access! Drink service is always close at hand, plus you can even opt for a little private time — renting a cabana gets you more than just a place in the shade, but extras like fresh fruit, chilled towels, lunch delivery and concierge service. (Cabana rentals are open to everyone, though guests in Carnival Excel-level suites enjoy priority reservations.)

Carnival Celebration Cruise Guide: Photo Tour, Review, & Things to Know

Carnival Celebration marks the second Excel-class cruise ship built for Carnival’s fleet. A sister to the popular Mardi Gras, the ships mark a push from the cruise line toward vessels that are bigger than the rest of the fleet, carry more people, and offer more to do, see, and eat onboard.

Carnival Celebration in port

And to say that Carnival Celebration is big is an understatement. At 180,000 gross tons, it’s approximately 35% larger than Vista-class ships, Carnival’s previous build of vessels. Meanwhile, it holds about 5,300 passengers at double occupancy, along with 1,800 crew members.

In short, apart from Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration is like nothing else in the fleet. From the restaurants available to all-new entertainment, venues, activities, and more… it has the most of everything in the lineup.

We recently had the opportunity to sail aboard Carnival Celebration. Below, we provide a full guide to sailing on the ship, including a tour, tips, things to know, and our full thoughts.

First Impressions & Ship Highlights

celebration cruise mangalore

If you want to win someone over, then the first impression is important. In the case of Celebration, that first impression is made as you board right into an area known as Celebration Central. This spot takes over instead of having a typical atrium like you see. It offers a three-deck performance area (complete with stage and video backdrop) where performances are held throughout the entire cruise that’s also combined with a path through the rest of the ship.

But what you quickly realize — even at first — is that there is a lot onboard. Walking through the ship is seemingly a never-ending lineup of bars, restaurants, shops, and venues. And given that Celebration is so much larger than other ships, it also means that while the favorites that are well-known across Carnival are still there, it also has a lot of offerings that aren’t on other ships.

Design/Feel Let’s start with the design and feel of Carnival Celebration. First and foremost, we felt that the design is much more contemporary than other vessels in the fleet. Frankly, we’ve always felt the design of Carnival ships was a bit more dated and wild — especially with older ships. That’s not the case here.

celebration cruise mangalore

But while the style matches with present-day design, it’s also very comfortable. There is also lots of fun artwork and features around the ship that add to the “fun” feeling. In other words, while some cruise lines try to go toward more high-end (such as Norwegian Cruise Line), Carnival has modernized the design, but not gone away from its roots.

One thing that’s especially unique about Celebration is that it pays homage to Carnival’s history with a number of unique features. In the middle of Deck 6 you’ll see the Rolls-Royce that sailed for decades aboard Carnival Ecstasy. The Golden Jubilee bar features pieces that were part of past Carnival ships. And there is even one of the original engine telegraphs that was part of the Carnivale.

The main activity on the interior of the ship goes from Deck 6 through Deck 8. These three decks run the length of Celebration, with everything from theaters to restaurants to shops to a pool (Deck 8). We found these areas relatively easy to navigate as they run through the ship, though they do wind and weave some. However, just be ready for lots of people on these decks, which can lead to a crowded feel during busy times.

Decks 16-18 at the top of the ship are the pool/outdoor decks. Here you’ll find everything from the main pool to the buffet, an aft pool with bar, Guy’s Burger Joint, the Serenity adults-only area, and the Ultimate Playground.

The Ultimate Playground is the name for the outdoor play area on Deck 18, which includes mini-golf, the waterpark, sport court, ropes course, and the BOLT roller coaster (which is technically Deck 19).

In total, we thought Celebration simply “feels” like a Carnival ship in that it’s approachable and relaxed but also a more modern style. However, we must note that it also feels more crowded than we are used to. With so many people and so many venues, there isn’t much open space on the ship.

Activities & Entertainment One thing about a ship this large is that there is never a shortage of things to do onboard. Between the activities available around Celebration to the entertainment put on by the cruise line, if you’re bored, then it’s your own fault.

View of waterpark aboard Carnival Celebration

Let’s start with the outdoor decks. You have the main pool area, but then you also have the largest Serenity deck that we’ve seen. Then there are other pools at the back of the ship on both Deck 16 and Deck 8. These are all open to everyone.

For more private spots, Celebration has Loft 19 at the very top of the ship with access for suite guests… or you can pay hefty $500 a day to rent a private cabana. There’s also a private Loft 19 pool. And Havana cabins also make an appearance, with their own private pool that I actually thought offered the best views of any pool onboard.

Want something more active? The waterpark on Celebration is complete with three slides that are all fun to ride. As mentioned, there’s the ropes course, as well as a mini-golf course, and a full-sized enclosed basketball court plus the BOLT roller coaster.

Head indoors, and you get the same sort of “Carnival on steroids” vibe.

First, there are two main theaters. The Grand Spectrum sits at the front of the ship. This is your typical theater with a stage and rows of seats. Shows here include Family Feud Live, which is a legit 100% rendition of Family Feud where passengers form the teams and compete to win cruise cash for the trip.

celebration cruise mangalore

Color My World , as you might guess from the name, is a show all about color. It is performances of songs focused on colors (Paint It Black, Purple Rain, Yellow, etc.), but all given a twist compared to the originals. Then there is the element of large video screens at the back of the stage that serve as the set background. Compared to traditional stage sets, the technology really adds another level to the performance.

But the show you have to see is at Center Stage in Celebration Central, the second theater in the middle of the ship. It is called The Most Magnificent Circus . The show is themed as an old-time eclectic circus. Hanging from the ceiling are several cables with fixtures attached to each.

During the show, performers climb on these items as they rise three decks into the air. From there, they perform all sorts of acrobatics and contortions, spin, and more. Meanwhile, the video background screen offers even more visuals, while other performers move through the crowd and on stage. There can be so much going on that you literally don’t know which area to watch at any time.

Other things to enjoy include the Piano Bar 88, the Punchliner Comedy Club, live Deal or No Deal, and live music performed around the ship.

Food & Beverage It’s impossible to go hungry or thirsty aboard Carnival Celebration. Let’s start with the notable bars onboard.

celebration cruise mangalore

The Golden Jubilee on Deck 6 pays homage to Carnival’s 50 years of history, complete with features that are recreated or actually part of past Carnival ships, including brass doors that were once the entrance to the Mardi Gras Nightclub on Carnivale. Just outside is the original telegraph from Carnivale.

Latitudes is another addition, with drinks from all over the world, and a travel theme complete with a flipboard like an old train station that displays changing messages. Other bars include Bar 820 in the Miami-themed 820 Biscayne neighborhood, The Watering Hole, Tropicale Bar, Havana Bar, Alchemy Bar, and more.

Then there is the food. So of course you have the main dining room and the buffet (Lido Marketplace). And the staples like BlueIguana, Guy’s Burger Joint, Guy’s Pig & Anchor, and Cucina Del Capitano are also there as you’d expect on a Carnival ship. But there is a ton that’s new to this class.

celebration cruise mangalore

Here, Emeril’s Bistro 1397 is available, serving up New Orleans-style food for a small upcharge. There’s the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Seafood Shack, Bonsai Sushi, and Rudi’s Seagrill, that do cost extra as well.

But the food that’s included with your cruise fare offers a lot of variety. ChiBang!, which serves both Mexican and Asian food in one location, is free for lunch and dinner. Previously mentioned Cucina Del Capitano is available if you want Italian.

Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ is also included. There’s Fresh Creations for salads up in the Serenity area, Street Eats out by the main pool, and Big Chicken, which serves chicken sandwiches is also new to this class of ships. There’s also Miami Slice and the Deco Deli if you want some pizza or a sandwich.

So no matter if you want a quick bite, or want to sit down and have the full meal experience, you have plenty of options.

What We Liked About Carnival Celebration

After a week on the ship, it became clear that there were a few things that really stood out about sailing on Celebration.

First, compared to other Carnival ships there is so much more to see and do. In our eyes, Royal Caribbean has always pushed to have the most things to do on a ship. Celebration brings the two lines on more even footing. Sure there are the classic cruise activities like the pool deck, casino, and bars/lounges to enjoy.

celebration cruise mangalore

But then Carnival has put a big emphasis on things like the waterpark. The BOLT roller coaster is a big draw. The cruise line has also pushed more entertainment, including shipboard editions of shows like Family Feud and Deal or No Deal. The theater shows are also stepped up, including The Most Magnificent Circus that was mentioned earlier.

Whether you want to watch a great show or you want to do more active things like ride a roller coaster or hit the waterpark, there’s a lot going on during the entire cruise. As someone who enjoys a more active experience, this was a welcome change.

Another thing that stood out were the food options. The trend in cruising seems to be having a buffet and main dining room, along with maybe 1-2 other options included in your cruise fare. That’s not the case sailing on Celebration.

Carnival has filled the ship with different restaurants ranging from easy grab-and-go items (Street Eats, Guy’s Burger Joint, Big Chicken, etc.) all the way to high-end dining (Rudi’s Seagrill, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse). But the big difference is that so many are included with your fare.

This includes spots like Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ, Cucina del Capitano, ChiBang!, Miami Slice, Deco Deli, Big Chicken, Guy’s Burger Joint, and BlueIguana. It’s no exaggeration that you could sail for a week and never eat in the buffet or dining room.

celebration cruise mangalore

During our cruise, we found the food to be very good across the board. Special mention should be given to Emeril’s Bistro 1397, where we had a shrimp poboy ($7) that was fantastic. We also thought that Big Chicken could go toe-to-toe with any chicken sandwich you find on land.

That sort of variety and options is a major plus in our book.

What Could Be Improved

Not everything about Celebration is perfect. Let’s talk about the size of the ship. During our cruise, Celebration had about 5,300 passengers onboard, and this ship feels busy. It can feel crowded. And part of that isn’t just the number of people on the ship, but also the ship design.

Take the elevators. Carnival seems to have opted for smaller elevators but more of them. Either way, they are slow to arrive and when you do get on one, it’s much more cramped than usual.

Around the ship there are chokepoints like on the main pool deck. Here, because of all the people and furniture, it just feels more tight. This seemed to be a consistent theme around the ship.

The Center Stage theater in the middle of the ship is another good example. Seating is a major issue. Since it’s not set up like a normal theater, there just weren’t a ton of spots to sit down and still see the stage.

When we watched the popular circus show, we showed up 20 minutes early and there wasn’t a seat to be found. Instead, we watched from the extreme left of the stage and just stood the entire time. (In fact, they actually put on the show twice a night for two nights to accommodate everyone.) And even the cabin bathroom felt like the smallest we’ve seen on a cruise ship.

So when you sail, be ready for a little less elbow room. It’s the trade-off for packing so much onboard.

Carnival Celebration Tips & Things to Know

During our time on the ship, we found out a few tips and things to know that could make your cruise even better.

celebration cruise mangalore

Each Stairwell Has a Different Color to Help You Navigate Celebration is big, and there’s stuff happening all over the ship. That means you’ll be walking aft and forward and sometimes not be sure where you are on the ship. If you hit an elevator bank, check the color of the nearby stairwell. Each one has a different color wallpaper (red, green, yellow) to help you identify which area of the ship you are in.

The Lanai Is a Hidden Secret If you want to connect to the sea, check out the Lanai. It’s a small section of deck chairs hidden away on Deck 8 that overlook the water. This spot is located on the port side of the ship, and you have to pass around outdoor seating for some restaurants to get there. For that reason, seemingly no one realizes it is there. We checked it out several times during the cruise and never saw more than 3-4 people there.

Stairs Are WAY Faster on Celebration Ok, one thing that nobody will want to hear is that the elevators on the ship are slow. It seems that Carnival opted for more elevators, but made them smaller. So even when one does arrive, it may already be full. For that reason, if you can, it’s a smart idea to just take the stairs. It will save you considerable time on getting around the ship.

Want to Ride BOLT? Don’t Wait to Book During our cruise, we had two days at sea at the end of the trip and made plans to ride the roller coaster then. Unfortunately, those two days were windy (especially with the ship underway) and BOLT never operated. The lesson? If you know what you want to ride, then go ahead and book it for as early in the cruise as possible to make sure that you get a chance. Days in port are when you’ll find the best combination of calm weather (since the ship is stationary) and shorter lines as most people are off the ship.

Don’t Miss the Details in The Golden Jubilee The Golden Jubilee is a bar with a theme dedicated to Carnival’s history. And at first you might notice only a couple of things like the blueprints of past ships adorning the ceiling. But check out the QR code at the back of the drink menu for a link to information about all the items in the bar. There are the original doors that went to the nightclub on the retired Carnivale. The tables with Al Hirschfield drawings are from Carnival Fascination, and there is even a glass-wall panel that used to be in the casino on the original Mardi Gras.

celebration cruise mangalore

Want a Show? Order The Sakura From Latitudes One of the unique bars on Celebration is the Latitudes — and not just for the cool flipboard sign (like you’d see in an old train station) that’s above the bar. The menu is filled with drinks inspired from around the world, from a paloma (Mexico) to a bramble (England).

Be sure to try The Sakura. It’s a sake-based drink with pomegranate liqueur and other flavors. But when it’s served, the bartender puts a huge bubble on it that you pop with tiny rose petals as you make a wish. We’ve never seen anything like it.

Try’s Guy’s Pig & Anchor for an Easy Breakfast Breakfast is served in a lot of places around the ship, but if you want one of the easiest, then try Guy’s Pig & Anchor. The spot serves BBQ for lunch and dinner but for breakfast it offers the same lineup that you’ll get at the morning buffet (minus the omelet station). So instead of having to go all the way to Deck 16, you can eat on Deck 8 in a spot that’s much less busy.

The Best Pool Belongs to Havana Rooms There are a number of pools around Celebration, from the Serenity deck (adults only) to the main pool in the middle of the ship. But the best pool in our opinion is one that sits in the exclusive Havana area. Not everyone can access this area — it’s reserved for passengers staying in Havana rooms. But if you have access, then you get a great view. The pool isn’t big, but sits right over the water.

Final Thoughts on Celebration

Apart from its sister-ship Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration is like nothing else in the Carnival fleet.

If you’ve sailed Carnival but haven’t sailed ships like Celebration, then you really don’t know what you’re missing . That same Carnival atmosphere is still there… but it’s definitely taken to a whole other level. From the venues onboard to the entertainment to the food and more, it’s all bigger and better than what you find on older ships in the fleet.

For some, the size and scale of Celebration may be off-putting. And yes, the crowds around the ship can be heavy. But for those that want the most options to enjoy their vacation, Carnival Celebration is it.

Mangalore cruise port

Region Asia

Local Time 2024-05-10 12:54

Port Mangalore cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Mangalore, India. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

The cruise port is in the New Mangalore Port, part of Mangalore Harbour. This is a deep-water seaport located at the city's Panambur district, Mangalore Harbour is India's deepest inner harbor waterway and the only major port on Karnataka region's coastline. The port is ranked India's 7th largest cargo port. All facilities are managed by the government-owned company New Mangalore Port Trust.

Karnataka (aka Karavali) has a 300 km (186 ml) long coastline stretching between Mangalore (Dakshina Kannada district) and Karwar (Uttara Kannada district) along Arabian Sea's eastern shore. On the coastline are locatd one major seaport (Mangalore) and 10 smaller ports.

Port Mangalore

The port was named "New Mangalore Port" to distinguish it from Mangalore Harbour (aka "Old bunder"). The old port is located south of the new port. The new port in Panambur is to north of the confluence of Gurupura River to Arabian Sea. The port is located approx 310 km (190 ml) south of  Port Mormugao (Goa)  and approx 354 km (220 ml) north of  Port Cochin .

Facilities at Mangalore Harbour serve the port's cargo storage and logistics. New Mangalore Port handles cargo vessels (fluid-, dry- and bulk carriers), also tankers (carrying petroleum oil lubricants, crude oil products, LPG / Liquid Gas Tank containers), ferries and cruise ships. At the new port there is also an Indian Coast Guard station.

New Mangalore Port is a man-made harbour waterway through which cargo and passenger (ferry and cruise) ships enter the city. All vessels use e-Visa. Cruise ships come to Mangalore from Europe (Mediterranean, eastbound routes via Suez Canal and often Dubai ) and also from Australia and even USA (westbound routes, usually as part of World Cruise itineraries).

This seaport is strategically located between Western Ghats (mountain range parallel to the peninsula's west coast / UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Arabian Sea's eastern shore. Currenntly, the port exports around 3/4 of India's coffee, cashew nuts and spices. The port's current total capacity is around 78 million tonnes.

Among the port's major exports are iron ore (concentrates, pellets, fines), manganese, granite stones, coffee, cashew nuts, spices, containerized cargo. Among its major imports are crude oil, petroleum products, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), wood pulp, timber logs, fertilizers, liquid chemicals (including ammonia and phosphoric acid), as well as various containerized cargo.

Follows the list of Mangalore port's berths, their wharf lengths (in meters) and the type of cargo that each of them serves.

  • Berth 1 (125 m), Berth 2 (198 m), Berth 3 (198 m), Berth 6 (198 m), Berth 7 (200 m) and Berth 8 (350 m) all serve General and Bulk Cargo vessels, also Container ships and Passenger ships (ferry and cruise).
  • Berth 4 (198 m) serves General and Bulk Cargo, Container ships, Liquid carriers (Ammonia and Phosphoric Acid) and also Passenger ships (ferry and cruise).

Learn About the Diverse Cultural Influences of Mangalore

Although it sits off the beaten path in modern times, the Indian city of Mangalore once served as a critical hub in the spice trade across the Arabian Sea. Today, it has left behind its status as a commercial center in favor of a new identity as a resort town and melting pot of cultures, making it an ideal stop for a shore excursion during an Indian cruise .

To best experience the cosmopolitan attitude that Mangalore has developed thanks to its history as a meeting place for people from different cultures, you can explore the city's many sights on a tour of the downtown area. One of the destination's most famous attractions is Gokarnatha Temple, a religious structure built in 1912. This shrine is dedicated to Shiva, one of the most important deities in the Hindu pantheon, and features a strikingly beautiful gompuram , or entry tower. Once you get inside, you will see the temple's gorgeous marble interior, which also has silver-lined icons of Shiva and other gods.

Another important religious structure in Mangalore is St. Aloysius Chapel. This Christian house of worship is dedicated to Aloysius of Gonzaga, a Jesuit saint and missionary. Here, you can learn about this figure's life and work in India thanks to a series of frescoes painted on the walls of the chapel.

While it may not boast the history or cultural importance of the temples or chapels of Mangalore , the city's cashew factory is a great stop on any tour. Here you can watch the delectable delicacy being roasted, removed from the kernel, pressed for oil and shipped around the world. You may even get a chance to sample freshly hulled cashews or other foods made with the nut.

Mangalore also serves as a good jumping-off point for tours of other destinations in the area. In the city of Karkala , you can visit the Gomateswara Statue, a 42-foot-tall bust that is revered by people of the Jain faith. In the nearby city of Moodbiri , you can explore the Jains ' most sacred structure, Chandranath Temple. This attraction is also known as the "Temple of 1,000 Pillars," making it an impressive sight for visitors of any religion.

A great way to unwind after a hot day in the Mangalore sun is to visit the Karnataka Coast. This scenic stretch of shoreline is famous for its gorgeous beaches, and you will love having the chance to stretch out and relax as you listen to the lapping of the waves on the sand. View Asia cruises .
