ABOUT THE BANDS:

With more than 110 million albums sold worldwide and two prestigious Diamond Awards in the U.S., 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® inductees Def Leppard – Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) — continue to be one of the most important forces in rock music. Over the course of their career the band has produced a series of classic ground-breaking albums that set the bar for generations of music fans and artists alike. The group’s spectacular live shows and arsenal of hits have become synonymous with their name, leading Def Leppard to be heralded as the world’s greatest live rock band. Def Leppard’s influential career includes numerous hit singles and ground-breaking multi-platinum albums—including two of the best-selling albums of all time, Pyromania and Hysteria, capturing the group’s legendary tracks, bringing together classic Leppard hits such as “Rock of Ages”, Pour Some Sugar on Me” and “Foolin.” For the first time, in January 2018 Def Leppard debuted their full recording catalogue worldwide via streaming and download platforms. As they did with the original release of their records, Def Leppard dominated the worldwide charts again, which found their albums charting in the iTunes Top 10 in more than 30 countries, including Hysteria at #3 in the US, and #5 in the UK (36 years after the album had charted at No 1 in the Billboard charts). Def Leppard also had the #1, #2 and #3 records on the US catalogue albums chart. The band have gone on to amass a staggering 5.5 billion streams since 2018, reaching a younger 18-44 demographic that now represents 58% of their fanbase. Additionally, the band have garnered an impressive 15 million followers across their social media platforms. In May 2022, Def Leppard released their twelfth studio album Diamond Star Halos. The album debuted at #1 on the Apple and Amazon Music charts. The album also scored a Top 10 debut on North America’s Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, marking the band’s eighth Top 10 album of their career, and garnered a #1 debut on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart. Diamond Star Halos had numerous Top 10 chart entries globally including a Top 5 debut in the UK. Following the close of their historic 2018 co-headline stadium and arena run in North America, Def Leppard sold in excess of 1,000,000 tickets and the tour grossed over $100,000,000.00, a massive feat in today’s touring world. Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe topped that number yet again with another sold out North American stadium run in 2022 selling over 1.3 million tickets which grossed a staggering $173,500,000.00. As always, the group keep pushing the boundaries with their electrifying live shows.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, the quartet —Vince Neil (vocals), Nikki Sixx (bass), Tommy Lee (drums) and Mick Mars (guitars) —  has commandeered the rock pantheon for 41 years. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, garnered 7 USA platinum and multi-platinum albums, 22 Top 40 mainstream rock hits, 6 Top 20 pop singles, 3  Grammy  nominations, 5  New York Times  best-selling books, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a  Netflix  hit movie. Mötley Crüe continues touring the world with John 5 on guitar as they push the visual limits of live performance.

Mötley Crüe  have amassed over 5 billion streams across digital platforms and the band has over 8 million followers on social media. Known for their iconic live performances, the band has sold-out countless tours across the globe in front of millions of fans with groundbreaking production highlights such as Tommy Lee’s drum-rollercoaster and Nikki Sixx’s flame-throwing-bass. They  pioneered the Las Vegas rock residency with a sold out run in 2012. Mötley Crüe’s hit songs  such as “Kickstart My Heart” and “Home Sweet Home” are frequently licensed by major brands such as  NASCAR, Dodge, Coldwell Banker, Carl’s Jr. and KIA  to name a few and their music can be heard on TV hit shows such as  Stranger Things  and  Cobra Kai  amongst many others.

The band’s biography “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band” became a New York Times best-seller in 2001 and has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Members of the band have authored 4 additional  New York Times  best-selling books since. In 2019 Netflix premiered “The Dirt” biopic based on the bestselling book which became a global hit movie scoring a 94% positive audience score on  Rotten Tomatoes . As a result, Mötley Crüe gained an entire new generation of young fans who discovered the band through the movie and further solidified their iconic status, relevance and the timelessness of their songwriting.

Fans of the band are also able to buy/rent  The Retaliators  movie on VOD platforms now; Nikki Sixx co-wrote the haunting theme song “21 Bullets”and Tommy Lee makes a cameo appearance in the rock-infused thriller movie. For more info go to  www.retaliatorsmovie.com

Mötley Crüe remains a huge global draw 41 years into their career and, in the summer of 2022 co-headlined a nearly sold out North American stadium tour with Def Leppard. The tour is set to travel to the rest of the world in 2023.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock audiences of all ages.  Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. He continues to tour regularly, performing shows worldwide with the dark and horror-themed theatrics that he’s best known for.

His 2021 album “Detroit Stories,” inspired by his hometown’s legacy of rock, debuted on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart at #1, and his recent “Live From The Astroturf” video/audio release recently did the same on the UK’s Official Music Video Chart.

While preparing two new albums for 2023 release, Alice continues to do his nightly “Nights With Alice Cooper” syndicated radio show, and still manages to tour up to six months each year on the road.  Alice Cooper continues to bring his own brand of rock psycho-drama to fans both old and new, enjoying it as much as the audience does. Known as the architect of shock-rock, Cooper (in both the original Alice Cooper band and as a solo artist) has rattled the cages and undermined the authority of generations of guardians of the status quo, continuing to surprise fans and exude danger at every turn, like a great horror movie, even in an era where CNN can present real life shocking images.

Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard Announce 2023 World Tour

The two bands will hit Mexico, South America, the UK and Europe next year

Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard Announce 2023 World Tour

After conquering stadiums in North America over the summer, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard are taking their co-headlining tour worldwide in 2023. The two bands have just announced dates in Mexico, South America, the UK and Europe for next year.

The newly announced run kicks off with February 18th and 21st shows in Mexico City and Monterrey, respectively, before hitting South America from late February through mid March. From there, the two bands will hit the UK and Europe from late May through early July.

After a two-year delay due to the pandemic, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard finally kicked off their North American “Stadium Tour” this past June. The outing began with Crüe drummer Tommy Lee only able to perform a few songs each night, as he had broken his ribs in a fall just prior to the launch. Eventually, he was able to play full sets, but then made headlines for encouraging fans to expose their privates during the second half of the tour. Overall, the North American trek was mega-successful, raking in $173.5 million in ticket sales.

“We had an incredible time playing The Stadium Tour in North America this summer and we truly can’t wait to take the show around the globe with The WORLD Tour in 2023,” stated Mötley Crüe in announcing the global outing. “Crüeheads in Latin America and Europe: Get ready!!”

DEF LEPPARD To Play 3 STADIUM TOUR Shows In UK/IRELAND In 2023/Multiple European Dates

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott has said The Stadium Tour will play up to three shows in UK and Ireland in 2023.

The Stadium Tour currently has 18 more dates scheduled in the USA/Canada in 2022.

Joe has spoken to Classic Rock Magazine and again mentioned the band's plans for 2023 in UK/Ireland and Europe.

The new issue of the magazine (304/August 2022) with ZZ Top of the cover features a four page feature on the launching of The Stadium Tour in the USA.

Within the interview Joe revealed the band will play at least three shows in the UK and Ireland.

He was tight lipped on the dates and when they would be announced but revealed more about the 2023 tour which will be their first for 4 years once it kicks off next summer.

It seems given the venues are outdoors that it would not start before at least May 2023.

Read Joe's quotes below and previous ones about the 2023 tour.

The Stadium Tour 2023

Up to three shows will be played including two in the UK and one in Dublin, Ireland.

He had already mentioned UK/Ireland shows back in May (and before) and confirmed the Irish show would be (as expected) in Dublin.

European Dates/Festivals 2023

Joe says the tour will hit many festivals around Europe in 2023.

These could include many of the events played by the band since their return to Europe in 2006 such as Sweden Rock and Hellfest or even events not played for many years like Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park etc.

Download Festival in the UK is also another possible date.

Likely UK Cities/Venues

The confirmed city Joe mentions is "probably" London and the other very likely one would be Manchester (for solo stadium dates).

In London both Wembley Stadium and London Stadium are the obvious venues with other possible ones including Twickenham Stadium, Emirates Stadium or even the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium played recently by Guns N' Roses.

In Manchester (if they are playing there) the most likely venue would be City Of Manchester Stadium (Etihad Stadium).

None of these stadiums have been played by the band before apart from the NFL half time show at the new Wembley Stadium in September 2014.

A Dublin show could see them play the new AVIVA Stadium or Croke Park.

Scotland?/Wales?

It would seem "if" the tour sells well enough then these "might" get added later with Cardiff's Principality Stadium the most obvious venue there.

No Sheffield Date?

With this tour playing stadiums/festivals only there is the strong possibility of no Sheffield date on a UK Def Leppard tour for the first time.

Don Valley Stadium was demolished many years ago and Joe and Sav both refused to play either Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday's football stadiums in 1993 because of their ties to each club and wanting "neutral ground".

The most likely return to Sheffield would be them adding an arena date sometime on this three year touring cycle.

Tour Announcement Date?

No sign of it yet but many European festivals announce next year's plans in the last few months of the current year. So tour dates could come around the same time as any of these.

Def Leppard are a hard rock and heavy metal band, formed in Sheffield in the UK in 1977. They are considered to be part of the New Wave of the British Heavy Metal movement.

Def Leppard have had a mix up of members, since 1992 they have consisted of Rick Savage on bass guitar and backing vocals, Joe Elliott who is the lead vocalist, Rick Allen playing the drums, Phil Collen on the guitar, and Vivian Campbell also on the guitar. This is the band's longest-standing line-up.

The band's success came in the 80s when they released their debut album, "On Through the Night", which successfully reached the 'Top 15' in the UK. Despite this success, the band performed at Reading Festival where they were greeted with unhappy fans who pelted beer cans and bottles filled with urine at them on stage. This came after fans were angry that the band were conforming to please an American market, being disloyal to their local roots.

However, after their release of their second album in 1981, named "High 'n' Dry", they began to find their feet and get to grips with their own original sound. Impressively, Def Leppard's video for "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first metal videos played on MTV in 1982. This success brought the band back to likeness in America where they then went on to tour, opening for Ozzy Osbourne and Blackfoot.

Their most successful album came in the form of "Hysteria", released in 1987 considered on of the most successful bands of the ‘New Wave of British Heavy Metal’ in the 80s in the UK.

Live reviews

In case you aren’t convinced about Def Leppard’s present-day pulling power, consider this; in both 2009 and 2011, they headlined Download Festival. In the world of hard rock, they remain titans more than thirty-five years after their formation in Sheffield; on their own tours, too, they frequent arenas, with a fervent cult fanbase. Things, admittedly, have slowed down on the studio front; their last record, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge was released back in 2008 and met with a tepid reception, although a new full-length is being promised for 2015. Onstage, though, it’s very much business as usual; an impressive light show incorporates giant screens with visuals behind the band, but otherwise it’s largely left to the musicianship to take centre stage. Joe Elliott’s vocals are holding up nicely, despite decades of relentless touring - he’s one of only two original members - whilst Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell are by no means shy of a solo. Perhaps the biggest attraction, though, remains Rick Allen behind the kit - surely the world’s finest one-armed drummer, having overcome the loss of his left arm in a car accident back in the eighties to earn the nickname - from Leppard fans - of The Thunder God, and not without reason.

Prepared for a month to go see Def Leppard, Styx, and Tesla at the new Amway Center in Orlando Florida on January 30th at 7:00pm. Heading to the Concert, Me and my girlfriend got into a car accident on I-4 heading to Orlando. We however were not hurt. Thank the gods. We finally make to Orlando. Thinking that we were still going to get to see three of our favorite bands and enjoy the rest of our night. But we find out that the Concert has been canceled due to "illness". Man were we bummed out. It's truly sad that the Concert was canceled the night of the event. Common courtesy would have been for the Concert promoter to have issued a cancelation notice at least 24hrs prior to the Concert. For I believe that they knew that one of the band members was I'll way prior to the Concert. Now I find out that the Concert has been Postponed till January of 2017. Are these bands even going to be alive then? Hell, will I be? Only the gods know. I'm truly saddened that I didn't get to see the Concert of Concerts. And I hope to be alive next year so that I can try again to see three of my favorite bands. Whoever was sick I do hope that they recover from their illness soon and grow stronger over the next year. Respectfully, Heiden T Nordson.

Great gig altogether, I hadn't seen Def Leppard or Whitesnake for the better part of a decade and had high hopes walking into the venue.

These hopes were definitely met, as Whitesnake delivered a slimmed-down set compared to their usual festival slots, which worked miracles as there were no fillers heard throughout the whole slot. Having seen them a dozen times by now, and even considering we did not get the outdoors treatment in which they usually shine, I would rank this as one of the best times I've seen them.

Def Leppard being the main reason for my concert visit, they did exactly the same as Whitesnake and took it a step further. Next to a brilliant setlist, the crowd interaction was taken to another level by the whole band, fully capitalizing on the Irish love of singalongs. Not too many new songs, who in fairness stand as solid Leppard tunes, but just an all-round great set.

I was expecting a bit more from opening act Black Star Riders, not sure why the Lizzy classics didn't go down as well as I expected them to go, but saw a better reaction to the songs in foreign countries than I did in Dublin. Shame really, as this band deserves the recognition they have elsewhere.

Def Leppard, the Sheffield icons and pioneers of British new wave metal still command the same level of adoration and respect as they did during their heyday. Frequent festival headliners, they take their plethora of hits and pure rock personalities and obliterate any stage they are placed upon. From the deafening tones of 'Undefeated', the pyrotechnics explode and the guitar riffs rip through the air as the audience erupt in excitement.

Having drawn huge amounts of revellers to the main stage, the band gets to proving why they are so iconic and so adored on the rock circuit. All the favourites are there including 'Let's Get Rocked' and 'Animal' which receive massive cheers as the veteran rockers recreate these popular metal/rock anthems with a high level of proficiency.

You cannot argue about the sheer effort and intensity that the band performs with, a huge extended version of 'Rocket' keeps the crowd applauding at their sheer musicianship. The best is saved for last though as they perform an all blazing version of 'Pour Some Sugar On Me' to end a momentous show.

Wow, Wow, Wow pretty much sums this up!

Best live performance i have ever seen from start to finish, a proper English rock band still going as strong as ever.

I would have happily paid double the price i did for the tickets! even the wife loved it despite being more into Norah Jones :-)

would highly recommend as these guys won't be around forever so for me to see a band that were/ have been playing before i was even born is an absolute honour and privilege.

20 thousand plus people, the atmosphere was electric with all walks of life present just shows how much impact their music has on all people.

These are proper musicians and the quality just shows.

If you get an opportunity to see these legends live then take it as this would be a regrettable decision.

AMAZING! INCREDIBLE! ICONIC! PROFESSIONAL! TOP CLASS! FANTASTIC! BRILLIANT! SUPERSTARS! and again AMAZING!!!

Def Leppard has been one of my most Favorite bands since I was a young adult, . . . many years ago. They never cease to putting on such an amazing show! I have followed them for years and I never miss them when they are here in San Diego. This particular show was great, as always. Yet, the sound at Petco Park just isn't set up for the music that Def Leppard, Journey, & Cheap Trick perform. It was very Echo-ing and just didn't sound as good as I know they sound elsewhere. I love Petco Park & I love Def Leppard, I just didn't like the sound last night! I will continue to see Def Leppard when they come no matter where they perform, . . . I LOVE Them and last night was no different! They were amazing! I will also continue to come to Petco, . . . if only to see the Padres perform. Petco Park is also amazing! I just hated the echo.

Last night, a lifelong dream of mine was realized; I FIIIIINALLY got to see my all-time favorite '80s anthem rock band, Def Leppard! The venue was Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State University campus. Tesla and REO Speedwagon opened and equally rocked the crowd. As these bands are planning to continue touring, I urge everyone to try and see them before they eventually do retire. These great bands of the '70s and '80s are a treat and a privilege to still see, so don't let the opportunity pass you by. Vocally, they are all still on-point, I kid you not. Awesome showmanship!

DEF LEPPARD Announces Most Intimate Show Band Has Played In Europe In 35 Years

In what will be one of the live events of 2023, DEF LEPPARD is coming home. On the eve of the band's biggest-ever European tour and the launch of new album, "Drastic Symphonies" , DEF LEPPARD is set to play a one-off club show at the iconic Sheffield venue The Leadmill. The 850-capacity venue will be treated to a must-see performance from one of Britain's greatest-ever rock bands. It will be a huge night for fans of the band who get the chance to hear the band's extraordinary stadium-style catalog in a club setting. It will be the most intimate show the band has played in the U.K. or the rest of Europe in 35 years. The setlist will be for one night only — unique to this show and different to the setlist the band will play three days later, when they start the European tour at a sold-out Sheffield United's Bramall Lane on Monday, May 22.

DEF LEPPARD is looking to shine a light on The Leadmill, a vital part of the Sheffield and national U.K. music scene and is among many of the small U.K. music venues threatened with closure. Net proceeds from ticket sales from The Leadmill show will be donated to Music Venue Trust who diligently work to help struggling U.K. music venues.

DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott says: "Sheffield is in the very DNA of this band!

"We are ecstatic to be starting the European leg of our world tour at home at Bramall Lane!

"When thinking of a warm-up, it made sense to do a special set at The Leadmill, in the city where it all started.

"We know there are a lot of small music venues struggling across the U.K., so we wanted to give back to what gave to us.

"The net proceeds from the evening will go directly to Music Venue Trust in an effort to keep U.K. clubs alive…and to coincide with the release of our symphonic record, 'Drastic Symphonies' , on the 19th of May. It's all very special!"

Tickets for The Leadmill go on general sale at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12. However, there is also a special pre-sale from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11. To get access to the pre-sale and improve your chances of getting tickets to this once-in-a-lifetime intimate performance, fans can pre-order a copy of "Drastic Symphonies" on any format from the official DEF LEPPARD U.K. store before 5:00 p.m. on May 10 to receive exclusive ticket pre-sale access. Please note pre-sale access does not guarantee tickets.

Can't make it to the gig? Tickets for a one-of-a-kind livestream are available now through Veeps .

May 2023 will see rock and classical royalty unite on a brand-new euphoric album titled "Drastic Symphonies" — DEF LEPPARD 's greatest produced tracks dramatically reimagined and sounding larger and more exhilarating than ever before, teamed with London's iconic Royal Philharmonic Orchestra .

DEF LEPPARD have deconstructed and rebuilt not only some of their most well-known tracks but also some of their hidden gems as well. By and large, they have intertwined the audio from the original tapes and performed them alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra . The album includes new vocals and guitars which culminates in stunningly beautiful symphonic arrangements. At different points you can hear vocalist Joe Elliott dueting with his younger self.

Asked by BBC Radio 2 's "The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show" how the "Drastic Symphonies" project came about, Elliott said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET ): "We first discussed this — it was put on our plate by some grownups about four years ago. And, obviously, because we were touring, we were sidetracked. And then with the COVID, we did the new record [2022's 'Diamond Star Halos' ]… It's only nine months ago now [that it came out]. We were actually under the radar. We were in Abbey Road recording this record without telling anybody. So we had it ready to go the following year, which is now."

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra was recorded at Abbey Road in March 2022. Produced by DEF LEPPARD , Ronan McHugh and Nick Patrick (producer of the following RPO /orchestral albums — Elvis , Roy Orbison , BEACH BOYS and Buddy Holly ) with arrangements by Eric Gorfain ( Neil Diamond , Ryan Adams , Christina Aguilera ).

Joe told "The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show" : "What we've done is we've reworked 16 of our most symphonic songs and done them with the Royal Philharmonic . We wanted to make sure that everybody knows this is not just the records from the past with an orchestra chucked on the top like icing on a cake. We took these songs all the way back to the beginning. I re-sang some of them, because the original vocals were out of place once you put an orchestra on it. So on one of the tunes, which is a song called 'Too Late For Love' , I did a duet with myself from 40 years ago. It's the most bizarre thing I've ever done. But it was great fun. The timing and the phrasing came to me instantly — it's like it never left my DNA — but it was one of the strangest things I've ever done. It was like singing with a ghost that's still alive, if that makes any sense."

Elliott added: "Yeah, it turned out really, really well. We're very happy with it. And to be putting out this record only nine months after 'Diamond Star Halos' , it just shows there's a forward momentum, not just from a touring point of view, but from a career point of view. We are always looking to just keep moving forward and doing something different."

When "Drastic Symphonies" was first announced earlier in March, Elliott said in a statement: " DEF LEPPARD has always enjoyed veering off the expected path — working with the likes of Tim McGraw , Taylor Swift and Alison Krauss , for example. So, when the offer to revisit some of our back catalogue with the Royal Philharmonic was presented to us, to a man we all jumped at it. Although we're far from the first band to ever do this, working directly with an orchestra at Abbey Road on some of our more orchestrated songs seemed too good of an opportunity to pass up."

DEF LEPPARD guitarist Phil Collen added: "When the offer of doing an orchestral album with the RPO was suggested, we were honored. But we didn't just want an orchestra plonked over our previous recordings. We decided to create something special where we would have something classic but present it in a brand new way that would involve making everything work in the context of 'Drastic Symphonies' . Recording new parts, remixing previous sounds, taking some of our instruments out so the orchestra could breathe and literally making a new album. It was an amazingly inspirational process culminating in the live recording of the RPO at Abbey Road studios in London. An absolute team effort that took a good part of a year. It's a new DEF LEPPARD album, it's a greatest-hits-plus album, with some rarely heard songs, it's a live RPO album and we think it's perfect. We're so proud of how 'Drastic Symphonies' turned out and can't wait to share it to the world."
