ALL JOURNEY CHURCH CAMPUSES ARE NOW OPEN

With the release of the local safe at home order, and with prayerful consideration, we are excited to open our campuses . If you are deciding to attend an in-person worship service, we are committed to creating an environment that meets government recommendations to make every effort to protect our communities. We also respect each person’s effort to stay safe. Wearing a mask or not is completely okay during worship gatherings. Our buildings will be limited to 25% occupancy in the campus auditoriums. To facilitate capacity we are asking that you would RSVP starting June 1 every Monday at noon . We will make every effort to continue social distancing during this time. Journey Kids and Journey Youth will be online only . We encourage you to make the best choice for your family and the situation as you consider attending a physical location or continuing to worship at Journey Church Online .

Even though this time has been difficult for many, we desire to bring the hope of Jesus to everyone and every circumstance. Journey Church online will still continue. Whether you decide to attend in-person or online, both will be a great experience for you and your family.

If you do not feel well, we ask that you would stay home and watch Journey Church Online in an effort to keep everyone safe.

WHAT IS JOURNEY CHURCH DOING TO STAY SAFE?

• Additional hand-sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the building.
• All Journey Church services will be as touch-free as possible providing hosts to open doors and give you the safest experience.
• Journey Kids and Journey Youth will not be available at this time, however, we will have space available for nursing mothers.
• No water fountains will be open or usable.
• No cafe food or beverages (coffee & donuts) will be offered.
• No offering buckets will be passed. Instead, there will be stations in the lobby for guests who want to give in person. We recommend online giving at this time.
• To reduce touchpoints connect cards, pens, and offering envelopes will not be available in seating areas. Connect with us digitally at jrnychurch.com/start .
• Seating in the auditorium will be every other row.
• Lobby tables and furniture will be at least six feet apart.

WHAT CAN I DO?

• If you don’t feel well or have health concerns, please stay home and join us online.
• Please wash your hands, use hand sanitizer often, and use proper methods with a sneeze or cough (into your arm, not your hands).
• Maintain a distance of six or more feet between yourself and other guests.
• Please respect the personal health decisions of others.

WILL THERE BE RESERVATIONS FOR WEEKEND SERVICES?

At this time, our in-person worship services require an RSVP so we can safely handle the number of people in each campus.

ARE YOU REQUIRING OR RECOMMENDING THAT PEOPLE WEAR MASKS?

We welcome anyone who chooses to wear masks or other personal protection equipment. Masks are not mandatory to attend a service.

WILL TEMPERATURE CHECKS BE REQUIRED?

At this time, we are not requiring temperature checks. We are asking all guests to not attend if you have a fever of 100.4 or flu-like symptoms.

WILL JOURNEY CHURCH ONLINE STILL BE AVAILABLE?

Journey Church Online is a great option if you want to invite a friend to join you! Each week at 9:00 and 11:00 am you can join us online to experience worship, the message, and the community of your church family through live chat and prayer. You can also watch many of our past messages and connect with others with our social media platforms and our Journey Church App . We have seen many people watch Journey Church Online who have been attending Journey for many years as well as those who have never been to Journey. We will still continue to tell people about Jesus whether they join us online or attend in person.

WHAT ABOUT JOURNEY KIDS AND JOURNEY YOUTH PROGRAMS?

At this time, Journey Kids and Journey Youth will not be available at any of our locations. We hope to meet again soon! Until then, your entire family is welcome to attend church with you in the auditorium, and we encourage you to continue teaching your kids about Jesus using the Journey Kids YouTube channel, and Journey Youth YouTube channel. Right Now Media is also a great way for your kids to watch content specifically centered around Jesus. Faith at Home is a great option for families with specifically made content for your kids.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERED MORE VULNERABLE OR CARING FOR THOSE WHO ARE?

If you’re vulnerable for any reason, we are encouraging you to remain home. If you have any symptoms of sickness or have been around anyone who has shown symptoms, we ask you to remain home from all Journey Church campus locations for at least 10 days.

Clear scores are given to churches whose policies can be easily found on their websites’ primary pages (e.g. About, Beliefs). The language in the policies is clear and contains all necessary information.

Unclear scores are given to churches whose policies are difficult to find on their websites (e.g. located in sermon archives, blogs). The language in the policies may also be unclear.

Undisclosed scores are given to churches whose websites provide inconclusive evidence as to the churches’ policies.

NO. Some people assume that our database exists to point LGBT people to LGBT-affirming churches, for instance, or to warn them about non-affirming churches. Although this is a common byproduct of our public database, it is actually not our primary goal. If that was so, then we would certainly enable people to post “personal reviews” of their experiences in churches, much in the way that Yelp does. But we don’t.

Our goal is to score churches for how clearly they communicate their actively enforced policies. It is a “communication” score above anything else. We cannot score based on the “reality of what happens in their congregations,” but rather based on their online presence. That is why we confine our scope purely to any online evidence available on a church’s website, on its denomination’s or network’s website, and any pastor statements.

We sometimes get emails from pastors and congregants telling us that the score we’ve given to a church does not accurately reflect what happens in their church. We always respond by saying, “That’s good to know; please update your website so that this information is publicly available and also consider becoming Verified Clear; we’d love to update your score.” Or, “Please provide us with online evidence of what you’re talking about on the church or denomination website, and we’d love to update the score.”

Why do we do this? Our goal is to motivate churches to become clear on their websites because that is presently the most visible advertisement to the public. Clarity is reasonable on your website. Sometimes this helps people find churches that are aligned with their values -- that’s great, but that is not our primary goal.

Why do we strongly believe that policies should be on websites? Great question. We have an answer for that in our FAQ .

Community organizes drive-by parade to celebrate toddler's heart transplant journey

LELAND, N.C. (WTVD) -- A community in the Town of Leland recently organized a drive-by parade in honor of 18-month-old Dahlia Morris.

Dahlia suffers from cardiomyopathy, which is an enlarged heart. She received this diagnosis at just two and a half months old.

She spent seven months in the hospital waiting for a donor heart to become available, and another month recovering from the surgery

It has been six months since Dahlia received her new heart, and her family has been celebrating her health journey.

Despite the progress she has made, Dahlia still faces challenges including a compromised immune system that limits her interaction with others.

To show her some love and support, her friends and family decided to organize a drive-by parade in her honor.
