Join us every day at 09:00 h for a 4 hour scenic adventure around the Marjan peninsula. Sea kayaking in Split is a perfect paddling experience for all beginners, as we paddle along the shore. After introduction in paddling techniques and safety, we will cruise around a peninsula. As the scenery changes from secluded bays in shady pine forests to pebbled beaches, we will stop for a dip in one of the bays — it is a perfect location for swimming, as well! Explore the Split “wild side” from a sea perspective, just minutes away from busy city centre! And don’t forget to pack your swimming suit, some water, sunglasses, hat, towel and sunscreen.

Departure time and days: 01. May – 01. October 9AM – Every Day

All our tours and excursions begin in a relaxed atmosphere, until the whole group is assembled near the designated meeting point. Meeting point is at the bus stop in front of st. Francis church (address: Trg Franje Tuđmana 1). Our advice is to plan your journey in advance and make sure you arrive to the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Transparent Kayak Glow tour in Split is a New and Exciting way to go exploring by clear Kayaks! We decided to offer a different kind of night out for our fellow travellers in Split in our see-through transparent kayaks. Leaving the sun behind and going with rainbow color lights beneath the kayak will illuminate your way into this unique adventure.

The tour starts at Stobreč campsite beach, away from the busy Split center. As the sun sets in the back, you will be introduced to kayaking and get familiar with the equipment by our team . Soon you will be gliding towards Žrnovnica river as the sun slowly fades away in beautiful colors and the night time starts. Losing the Stobreč lights and entering the river, the light beneath will start to appear. As you are navigating through a calm river, the lights from your fellow paddlers will paint the riverbed in beautiful colors. After a short distance through Žrnovnica river, you will be back on the sea.

The busily lit shore will start to appear as you paddle towards white rocks and cliffs where natives have built their houses. The tour leads outside the bay to the small beach where you can explore the seabed and coastal area! Night glow kayak tour in Split is a perfect way to relax and have fun after a long hot day in Split!

• Departure In front of Hotel Brig (Prilaz Brace Kaliterna 1), close to Baćvice beach. The van and the guide will meet you there. If you are staying close to the starting point (Camping Stobreč Split beach), or traveling by car, you can also meet us at the beach 20 minutes after the meeting time. There is a large free parking lot just before the campsite entrance. If you decide to make your own way to the beach, please notify us in advance by e-mail, SMS, or phone.

We use Prijon HTP sea kayaks. Some of the models we use are Kodiak, Seyak, Touryak and Poseidon. All kayaks are equipped with rudders. Neoprene covers, life vests, spry skirts and dry bags are provided.

For day tours we use aluminum paddles. For the multiday tours, we provide carbon paddles.

Enjoy six days kayaking among the magnificent islands of central Adriatic, by feeling the unique seducing spirit of Brac, Hvar and Pakleni islands. We are sure you will not want to miss the regional and historical centre of Split, the city developed around the 1,700 year old palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian. Paddling from island to island will let you experience the area in its full beauty and natural richness. You will acknowledge the traditional way of living, get familiar with the picturesque landscape of vineyards, pine woods and lavender fields as well as architecture of old Dalmatian villages and towns. At the same time you will be tasting internationally known local wines, olive oil or food specialties. Kayaking in the crystal clear sea will be combined with swimming and sunbathing in unforgetable bays and beaches with impressive sunsets observed from a local restaurant where you will not only rest, but keep breathing the Mediterranean. Start the trip with us from Supetar at the island of Brač and be ready for an experience you will be delighted to tell your friends about.

SPLIT – Supetar (ferry – 1h drive); Supetar – Sutivan – MILNA (21 km of kayaking)

Good morning! We hope you slept well and are ready to start your adventure! Pack only necessary things and leave the rest of your belongings in our storage. It will be waiting for you in Hvar Town. Today we are taking you to the ferry for Supetar on Brač island – the first island you will be visiting. There you will take the kayaks from the ferry and start your adventure by paddling towards Sutivan and Milna. Take a well deserved rest on your first night. Dinner and accommodation included.

MILNA – Smrka cove – Blaca – Kabal peninsula – STARI GRAD (34 km of kayaking)

On your second day you are paddling towards small desolate cove called Smrka. The cove is currently being used by local fishermen for storing and preparing fish and as a refuge for their ships. There’s also a sunken ship in the cave! When you are done exploring, head towards Blaca valley and explore old hermits residence. You can take rest on Kabal peninsula in one of many deserted bays. Proceed towards Stari Grad and charge your batteries overnight. Breakfast, dinner and accommodation included.

Additional option *Day 2 has an option: If you think 34 km is quite a big bite, you can make a shortcut in Milna. We will transfer you to Osibova bay (number 1 on the map) and you will continue towards Stari Grad. This will make your journey 8 km shorter.

STARI GRAD – Vira bay – HVAR TOWN (29 km of kayaking)

Well rested, you are now on your way to Hvar Town. On your way stop and relax at Vira bay. This is your first night in Hvar Town. Discover Hvar nightlife or enjoy beautiful evenings while mingling with the locals. Breakfast, dinner and accommodation included.

Additional option *Day 3 has an option: If you didn’t take an option yesterday or you feel tired, You can take an option here, too. We can take you from Vira to Hvar Town with a van. This will make your kayaking day 11km shorter.

HVAR TOWN – all around Pakleni islands (19km of kayaking)

Old latin proverb says: Rose is the smell of your heart, and lavender is the smell of your soul. Use this morning to smell and taste Hvar, explore its history and people. After you have indulged your senses, you are now ready to explore more. You are heading to admire Paklinski islands. A group of 11 islands and reefs in front of the port of Hvar spreads along 11 kilometers and creates a natural shelter. The name comes from “pitch.” i.e. Pine resin, which was used for boat coating. The largest island is St. Clement, which contains Illyric ruins and remains of Roman houses. Breakfast, dinner and accommodation included.

HVAR TOWN – Milna – Zaraće – Sveta Nedjelja – ZAVALA (24 km of kayaking)

A st the end of the tour approaches, you are going further southeast. Sveta Nedilja is located on the south side of the island, and administratively belongs to the town of Hvar. It is located under the island’s highest peak – St. Nicholas (628m). There is an impressive beach under the village. Today you will be heading towards Zavala where you can take a really deserved rest on one of many beaches. Breakfast, dinner and accommodation included.

ZAVALA – Hvar Town – SPLIT (approx. 45min from Zavala to Hvar and 1h with a speedboat from Hvar to Split)

What time of year do the tours go.

Ideal months for these tours are May, June, September and October. That is when the tours are organized.

How big does the group have to be to have the tour?

Our minimum for tour is 5 people.

Can I book as an individual?

Yes, you can. Additional payment for single room/individual reservation is 25% of the package price. When booking as an individual, you will be placed in excisting group – please contact us for departure dates.

Is it possible to have private tours and do they charge more?

Yes, it is possible to have a private tour. The price will depend on the number of people but if the group consists of 5 and more people, there will be no additional cost for a private tour i.e. regular prices per person are applied.

Can children go and how old do they have to be?

Minimum age for a person on the tour should be 16y.

How fit do you have to be to do this kind of trip?

Moderate fitness level is required. A person should be of general good health and able to paddle approx. 20km per day.

Do you have to be experienced in kayaking, and how much to do the tour?

Some kind of experience with paddling is welcome because we use sit in kayaks. Your instructors will give you all neccesary instructions how to use all the equipment while kayaking.

Split Rock Lighthouse Kayak Tour

Enjoy the stunning beauty of the sheer cliffs at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park in a comfortable and stable tandem (2 person) sea kayak on this 3-5 mile tour.

On this 3.5 hour kayak tour, you will:

• Receive a thorough, land based introduction to sea kayaks, paddle strokes and safety skills
• Enjoy an amazing view of Split Rock Lighthouse from the water
• Learn about the fascinating natural history of the North Shore from your guide/naturalist (you may even see a bald eagle or perigrine falcon!)
• Paddle north to Gold Rock for a possible glimpse of the 1905 shipwreck Madeira

We provide a wetsuit, spray skirt, PFD, paddle, safety equipment and instruction from PEO’s expert guides/naturalists.

No previous kayaking experience is necessary. Children ages 10 and older are welcome on the tour. All PEO kayak tours are customized small group experiences designed to meet the individual needs and interests of our participants.

Your participation in our public tours helps PEO provide outdoor education programming for low income children in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. We look forward to kayaking with you!

What Is Not Included?

We will provide a complete clothing and equipment list for your kayak tour when you complete the booking. You will need to bring water and snacks. Plan to wear a swimsuit that will go under a wetsuit and bring shoes that can get wet, a towel and change of clothes for after the tour.

Gratuities for your guide are not included but are greatly appreciated for a job well done. As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, under IRS regulations, any additional contributions exceeding the actual value of goods or services received, including tips, are considered charitable contributions, and help support PEO’s programming for low income youth.
