Kensington revamps Turkey tours as destination makes a comeback

TORONTO — Kensington Tours has introduced a fully revamped product line for Turkey.

Four new itineraries – Istanbul & Cappadocia Discovery; Turkey Signature; Turkey Exclusive and Turkey and Greek Islands Honeymoon – highlight the destination’s best and outline the operator’s expertise in private-guided tours, says the company.

Itineraries include evening culinary walking tours of Taksim Square, Turkish marbling classes, calligraphy lessons, cooking classes at a local Turkish home, behind-the-scenes exploration of the troglodyte dwellings of Cavusin, experiencing the sunrise onboard a hot air balloon, aroma massages in a private spa suite and sailing along the Turkish coast on a private yacht.

“Each of our tours – in all destinations – are led by private guides who have deep local knowledge and exclusive connections,” says Marc Sison, Product Director.

Morocco Trip

I just took 10 days trip to Morocco, North Africa. We were 3 couples. Patrick provided exceptional service to customize the tour. Patrick created perfect itinerary and best hotel’s accommodations in Casablanca, Fes, chefchaoun, maraketch and High Atlas Mountains. There is nothing that I did not like about kensington tours. A “Wee” Scottish Vacation

After I explained that I wanted a privately guided tour of Scotland so that my granddaughter could visit St.Andrew’s University, my AAA travel agent suggested we use Kensington Tours. Megan, our Kensington agent, developed a wonderful 6 day tour that encompassed everything we wanted to do and see. Our local guides were terrific-Diane, Chris, Andrew, and Michael. Enchanting India

We wanted to thank Kensington and in particular Sunita Singh for planning and arranging for us an exceptional trip to India. The Leela Palace in Delhi, Oberoi Armavilas in Agra, and Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur spoke eloquently to the cities in which they were located, and the service was amazing. Egypt & Jordan…

Poland- Krakow and Warsaw

Kensington Tours may rip you off.

Kensington Tours is a vendor with nasty, pushy old school sales tactics and sketchy opaque pricing to get you fleeced in my opinion, read on ! Kensington Tours pre-charged my Amex Centurian card a staggering $85,985.00. for 6 nights without international airfares in one cost-opaque invoice. This consisted of a simple assembly of 9 hotel room nights in 3 locations, 6 in-country economy flights, 3 airport pickup/drop offs, a 2 day 'tour' and a 1-day expedition on a small boat. It was so bad we declined the 2nd tour day and boat trip. The full retail cost of the trip, which would include profits to Kensington Tours, is estimated at $30,140.47 versus their invoice of $ 85,985.00. That is a staggering overcharge of $54,859.43. see details below. The experience should have been amazing for this amount of money, but the cost was so egregious for the average to low quality of the tours, flights, boat, and cheap or kerb-side restaurants and food establishments I decided to assemble the full retail price for these activities by speaking directly with all the major vendors. These are mostly time-specific cost comparisons on the days we were there. Both hotel general managers informed me the costs were about the same as on the previous days for the day extensions they quoted. i.e. peak season pricing. The full retail costs I've assembled would include any tour outfits profits on the hotel, airfare and lunch as they buy wholesale. It should be a close season-specific estimate. This was verified by a call from Kensington Tours Director of Asia sales who confirmed she couldn't reveal room prices because they have contracts with the hotels for discounts over retail. Kensington Tours provided near zero value, I also didn't get the typical additional hotel $ benefits, comped amenities and prestige of direct Centurion bookings, instead the reservations showed as a lowly Kensington Tours operator booking. Kensington Tours unilaterally declares their sales brochure is a de facto contract agreement without either attaching the contract doc to my knowledge or getting a counter signature, i.e. it's not a contract and would never hold up. They attempt to hide behind 'private discount contracts' with hotels and insinuated to me costs were 3x reality The comped me back $30,000.00 because I have some leverage, it should have been $55,000.00. I'm still considering whether to file a quick suit, they'll eat at least the balance defending against me in attorney fees. I'll see if I can be bothered to do that. I probably will, to let others know to be careful and not use an outfit like this. Hopefully save folks their hard earned money. My bottom line, Kensington Tours is a disgrace run the other way. I am a senior and I went on a wonderful tour with my daughter who is 20 to see Korea for the first time. We wanted to check out the K Pop culture in Busan and see lots of Seoul as well as the pearl divers in JeJu Island. Spontaneous UK trip to see Lord of the Rings in Newberry

My son and I wanted to make a kind of "spontaneous" trip to the UK to see one of the last performances of "Lord of the Rings" in Newberry, and take a few days to see the sites. Rooms are spacious, especially compared to other hotels that I’ve stayed at in Istanbul. The staff were friendly and let us check-in early. The room was modern and comfortable. The breakfast was okay. Excellent value. 5-10 mins walk to a bunch of shops and restaurants. 3-5 minute walk to the tram station. Would recommend.

A noter : Les déjeuners ne sont pas inclus et les horaires des visites vous seront communiqués à votre arrivée. Les deux demi-journées peuvent avoir lieu le même jour.

Le transport

Certains vols peuvent  s'effectuer avec escale ou de nuit (dans ce cas, le logement est prévu dès l'arrivée). Le premier et le dernier jour du voyage sont consacrés au transport. L'organisateur n'ayant pas la maîtrise du choix des horaires, il ne saurait être tenu pour responsable en cas de départ tardif et/ou de retour matinal le dernier jour.  les horaires des vols sont donnés à titre indicatif et sont susceptibles de modification.

Certaines compagnies aériennes facturent des frais en cas d'enregistrement à l'aéroport. Il est donc très important d'effectuer votre enregistrement en ligne avant votre départ à l'aide du numéro de PNR qui sera indiqué sur votre convocation.

Merci de noter qu'à partir des départs du 26 Mars 23 l'enregistrement à l'aéroport sera payant pour la compagnie SunExpress (5euros/passager et /trajet). Il est donc vivement conseillé de s'enregistrer en ligne si votre vol est opéré par cette compagnie.

Les transferts aller-retour entre l'aéroport et l'hôtel sont compris. Les bagages et les prestations à bord tels que les repas, peuvent être avec supplément.

Les prestations proposées dans nos forfaits peuvent à tout moment être suspendues ou modifiées suite à des restrictions sanitaires que pourraient imposer les différents gouvernements dans le cadre de la lutte contre d'éventuelles pandémies telle que la Covid-19 ou autres, sans que Mondial Tourisme n'en soit tenu responsable.

Merci de noter qu'en cas d'annulation du voyage du fait du client, les taxes aéroportuaires ne seront pas remboursées. Si vous partez seul(e), votre prix en chambre individuelle est calculé automatiquement dans votre devis. La durée du séjour est calculée sur le nombre de nuitées et non de journées. Le premier et le dernier jour du séjour sont consacrés au transport international. Les arrivées ou les départs pourront avoir lieu de nuit en fonction des horaires imposés par les compagnies aériennes. Selon les règles de l'hôtellerie internationale,  les chambres seront à votre disposition à compter de 14h00 le jour de votre arrivée et devront être libérées avant 12h00 le jour de votre départ. L'hôtel n'est pas accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

Les animaux de compagnie ne sont pas acceptés dans l'établissement

Pour les pièces d'identités renouvelées à partir de 1er janvier 2014, la carte d'identité est suffisante et doit être encore valide six mois au moment de votre retour. A partir du 1er janvier 2014, les cartes nationales d'identité sécurisées délivrées à des majeurs entre le 1 janvier 2004 et le 31 décembre 2013 auront automatiquement une durée de validité étendue de 5 ans, sans modification matérielle du titre. Si vous entrez avec une carte d'identité, on vous remettra une fiche d'entrée tamponnée du jour de votre arrivée et qui sera exigée à votre départ.

Passeport ou carte d'identité vous permettent, de faire un séjour de 90 jours maximum à condition qu'ils soient valables au moins 180 jours après le retour en France. Pour tous les ressortissants d'autre nationalité les voyageurs doivent prendre contact avec l'ambassade de Turquie en France, pour vérifier les formalités à leur date de départs.
