Baby, break the tension - Kylie Minogue is returning to BST Hyde Park for a brand new headline set this summer.

It will be Kylie's first appearance at the summertime festival in nine years, she last headlined in 2015 while promoting 12th studio album Kiss Me Once. 

Kylie will be taking to the stage Saturday July 13, with her support acts yet to be announced.

Pre-sale tickets for Kylie's gig go on sale Monday (April 19), while general sale tickets will drop on Wednesday (April 21).

It's certainly shaping up to be a busy summer over at Hyde Park, not only do we have the queen of Padam Padam herself, but country-pop goddess Shania Twain has just announced her own BST Hyde Park set . Shania and Kylie also join previously announced performers Andrea Bocelli and Robbie Williams.

Kylie Minogue has been announced as the latest headliner for London’s BST Hyde Park 2024 – find all the details below.

The ‘Padam Padam’ singer is due to top the bill at this year’s edition of the concert series on Saturday, July 13. She’ll be joined by a host of support acts who are yet to be confirmed.

“I can’t wait to return to BST Hyde Park this summer,” Minogue said. “My last appearance at this iconic event was in 2015 and it was a truly unforgettable experience. So excited to see you all again!”

Tickets go on general sale at 10am GMT next Wednesday (February 21) – you’ll be able to buy yours here . Alternatively, fans can access a BST pre-sale at the same time on Monday (February 19) – details of which can be found below.

Minogue joins the previously confirmed headliners Shania Twain , Andrea Bocelli ,  Robbie Williams and  Stray Kids on the bill. Further artists are due to be revealed in the coming weeks and months.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Minogue would receive the BRITs Global Icon award and perform live at next month’s ceremony .

She recently won the second Grammy of her career , picking up the Pop Dance Recording statue for her hit single ‘Padam Padam’ – 20 years after winning her first award at the event.

Elsewhere, Minogue has teamed up with Sia on a collaborative new track called ‘Dance Alone’ .

Kylie Minogue (born 28th May 1968) is a globally renowned and beloved pop singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Australia, currently residing in London, UK, achieving success over a career spanning three decades.

Kylie Minogue first achieved fame in her role in the television soap opera, "Neighbours." She began her musical career in 1987, signing a contract with British songwriting trio Stock Aitken Waterman, after her first single "The Loco-Motion" was hugely successful, becoming the highest-selling single of the decade in Australia. "I Should Be So Lucky" was Kylie's breakout hit in 1988 and remains a pop classic.

In 1992 she left Stock Aitken Waterman, choosing to go it alone and establish herself as a performer in her own right. In 1994 she collaborated with Nick Cave on the song "Where the Wild Roses Grow" which garnered artistic credibility for Kylie, as she moved away from her image as the "girl next door" pop star. In 2000 she returned to success with the singles "Spinning Around" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" which reached number one in over 40 countries. Through her album "Fever" (2001) she broke into the American market, which had before alluded her. This release led to achieving four ARIA airways as well as two Brit Awards for Best International Female Solo Artist and Best International Album.

Throughout her career, Kylie Minogue has developed and evolved her music to a more mature, dance orientated sound incorporating electronica, disco and R & B influences. Whilst attempting to establish herself as a more serious artist, she has always maintained a sense of joy and fun within her music, which has helped her become such a treasured star in Australia and her adopted home in the UK.

In the middle of a tour in 2005, Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer, which forced her to cancel the tour. Thankfully, she successfully combatted the disease, allowing her to continue producing brilliant music. Following her illness, Minogue became an important figure in raising awareness and support of health research as well as humanitarian issues around the world. Her contributions were acknowledged through an honorary doctorate degree from Anglia Ruskin University as well as being appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Kylie Minogue has featured as a judge on BBC One's talent competition, "The Voice" for the first season and the third season of Australia's version of the show. She also released her 12th studio album in March 2014, titled "Kiss Me Once" which reached number one in the Australian charts and number two in the UK.

Kylie puts on a proper pop show and gives you your money's worth. The sets (giant skulls! Pegasus!), the lights, the videos, the dancers, the costumes, and, of course, THE SHOES (thigh high cut-out Louboutins!) are all fabulous. In fact, Kylie’s shows are often like a mini version of Cirque du Soleil, with many of her dancers doubling as aerialists, and sets that would put most Broadway musicals to shame.

Ms. Minogue’s set lists are always impeccably balanced between the new material that is the reason for the tour, more recent hits, and timeless classics from back in the day. She often mixes things up with new song arrangements and medleys. And there is no doubt that Kylie is up there giving each song her all; no 'miming' here.

Kylie is the consummate showgirl, and (as one of my fellow Kylie fans put it so succinctly) she is always about love and connecting with her audience. It’s all about having a good time no matter your age, orientation, or other demographic info. The audiences/fans at Kylie shows are always a friendly bunch, and the atmosphere is nothing short of festive. Even if you attend a show solo, you certainly won’t feel alone.

I am Mario from Hamburg Germany. I went with my old friend Nico to see Kylie Minogue live! It was an amazing experience which I will cherish forever!

We were in the Golden Circle front row to the stage catwalk and had the chance to see Kylie just 1 ft away!!! She blew us and the whole audience away. She is a true professional and also natural pure live performer. From very close view you would never think this woman is 50 years old. Her look is stunning and her voice was amazing powerful and strong and her dance routines magnificent! She sang 60% of songs from her current album Golden and mixed it up great with her old hits back from the beginning to her big greatest hits for which we all love her! I will also attend her German shows in November in Munich, Berlin and my hometown Hamburg and I can’t wait to see her live again!

Ok, I’ll start by saying I am a hardcore fan and I’d love a Kylie show no matter what. However, like many fans that know every song, sometimes we would like to hear some of the over played known songs replaced with new material or old/rare gems. On first sight of the setlist there was a mix, but sighs over The Locomotion, Kids, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Love At First Sight being dusted off and sang again. But, I have to say, the tweaks, reworkings amd mash ups made them fresh and fit. While I would have loved to hear What Kind Of Fool, Word Is Out and the recent album track penned for the fans Sincerely Yours, Kylie has a tough job of pleasing casual fans, hardcore fans and putting on a fresh show. This, she has achieved. No feathers and space age costumes, but Kylie dazzled and looked amazing, more importantly; sounded fabulous. Still plenty of glitter and dancing from the backing dancers with Kylie free to focus on vocals and occasional moves or free styling. It’s a show not to missed and whether your first Kylie show or been there since day one, you’re in for a treat!

Amazing show. Greatest hits and what a catalogue to choose from. Perfect set list. Personally I’m done with Kids and Especially For You, but they are crowd favourites, so it fits the audience of the Summer shows and more casual fans than the die hard fans that see and go to every show! I would love to see another anti tour for the fans. The lesser known tracks. Kylie will never beat the Fever and Aphrodite tour dramatics these days, but she still puts on a blooming good show. Put your glitter on, leave your troubles at the door and be prepared to dance your bottom off!

Fantastic performance with a mix off new songs from her latest golden album and her older hits. This wasn’t just a concert but a true stage show with plenty of dancing and costume changes. Kylie is absolutely stunning vocally and in appearance. Who would have thought she was old enough to be celebrating 30 years since her first single.

I would highly recommend seeing Kylie if you get a chance, just a shame we were up in the gods and not closer to the stage but that shows the interest in her that all the good tickets were snapped up so quickly

I had a really golden time! Couldn’t wait to see la Minogue again. It was my 11 time and my 2nd time in Manchester - which is all the time supposed to be a great audience. Now to Kylie and golden tour! Fantastic stage - this time she fills much better the catwalk as years ago, great setlist unfortunately 1-2 songs in my opinion where missing - and simple Kylie thru the last 30 years with a little touch of country! Loved it from the beginning! Go there and just enjoy the golden showgirl it might be here best show so far! Perfect

I have been a big fan of Kylie for many years now and have seen most of her concerts but the Golden Tour is by far her best. She sang songs from her new album and songs from the past but her studio 54 medley was out of this world. Absolutely fantastic.The venue in Frankfurt was small and gave a great personal experience. Kylie is truly a great artist and is always worth seeing in concert

After a five-month stint in art deco concert venue/nightclub Voltaire at Las Vegas casino The Venetian, Kylie Minogue has just two more performances left before the conclusion of her concert series “More Than a Residency.” Given the grueling schedule she’s maintained since the beginning of the promotional cycle for “Tension,” her sixteenth album, it feels understandable, even appropriate, for Minogue to take her foot off the gas — especially while she’s nursing three torn ligaments and an ankle injury she must ice immediately after every show.

Across a set that ran just shy of an hour, they exploited the venue’s expressive, stylized lighting both to acclimate the crowd to the genre-spanning blend of dance music that would be included in Minogue’s performance, and to emphasize every one of their gobsmackingly strong muscles. Songs by Jane Birkin (“Baby Alone In Bablyone”), Cerrone (“Supernature”), Frankie Goes to Hollywood (“Relax”) and Gessafelstein (“Opr”) provided a soundtrack as performers contorted, swung and posed, all while stripping down to various levels of not-quite nudity that were at once thrilling and titillating. During some numbers dressed like Catherine Deneuve in “The Hunger” or a Patrick Nagel painting come to life and others wearing only loincloths or see-through bodysuits, the ensemble expertly warmed up the crowd ahead of Minogue’s performance.

As kaleidoscopic light surrounded her, Minogue beamed while the crowd cheered her arrival. It marked the first of many moments of seemingly sincere gratitude, underscoring her reputation as one of the most approachable pop divas. Then again, that intimacy may also have been the byproduct of Voltaire’s comparatively modest size. But the closeness (both physical and atmospheric) made the diminutive singer seem like an artist performing for friends and the towering international singer who’s sold 80 million records worldwide.

Minogue shuffled through “Vegas High,” reiterating that it was written expressly for her residency as she completed the final tracks for “Tension,” then performed singalong versions of “In Your Eyes” (from “Fever”) and “Get Outta My Way” (from “Aphrodite”) ahead of her first costume change. Returning to the stage dressed in skintight PVC, she performed a pair of her sexiest tracks, “Tension” and the “Body Language” lead single, “Slow.” On the latter, she paired its seductive lyrics with a live performance of the instrumental to Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You Baby” — a welcome callback to one of the many disco singers whose work has inspired and influenced her own. She then paid tribute to her Las Vegas forebears with a cover of Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” whose chorus the audience joined her in singing.

After another costume change, Minogue bounced through “Spinning Around” before reaching all of the way back to 1987 for a rendition of “The Loco-Motion,” the song that first put her on the map. Sandwiching the track between songs from 2000 and 2010, the singer not only reminded ticketholders how long she’s been around, but how long she’s been delivering earworm dancefloor fillers. While members of Belle du Nuit performed more acrobatic movements around her, Minogue easily kept pace with the choreography, a feat made more impressive by the fact that she is recovering from her aforementioned ankle injury — which was virtually undetectable, even while maneuvering around during the show on platform heels.

Though “All the Lovers,” featuring a cascading rainbow light show, ended the third act of the set on an appropriately triumphant note, Minogue returned for three more songs, the biggest of her career: the Grammy-winning “Tension” track “ Padam Padam ” and her instantly-recognizable “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” plus the Grammy-nominated “Love at First Sight,” both from 2001’s “Fever.” Wearing all white like in the iconography of her “Fever” era, Minogue performed her final few tracks with extra gusto; even on her eighteenth performance of this particular set, she exuded a clear joy on stage, an appreciation to those in attendance not just for joining her in the room but for helping make those songs so popular for so long.

I caught your Las Vegas show, and I must say — you leave it all out there on that stage.

I really do. I don’t think I’ve ever put this much energy into a show, which seems weird because Voltaire is a small space, so you might think, “This is going to be easier.” But it isn’t — because I’m in the eye of the storm and there’s nowhere to hide. The quick changes are at the speed of light.

The look of Voltaire matches your dreamy disco aesthetic. Were you involved in its conception?

When Derek [McLane, the space’s architect] showed me his plans on paper, I just thought, “This has got some of my DNA in it.” When it was finished, literally right before opening night, I sat in different parts of the venue and thought, “Can this be real?”

One of my favorite moments from the show was your rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which turns into a massive love-in.

I know! Everyone’s got tears in their eyes, they’re swaying, they’re hugging. There’s a lot of human contact — a lot more than any other touring show I’ve done. It’s like the most glamorous house party you’ve ever been to.

Do you plan on extending the run past May?

That’s a good question. I want to do a world tour. It’s been a little while since I did a big show. [And]I could 100 percent see myself going back to Voltaire. It does feel like a home; part of me is there.

What is the secret to always staying ahead of pop music trends?

“Padam Padam” was a different kind of hit for you. Is it your biggest hit because of the viral aspect?

Possibly. It’s very hard to make the calculation. There were songs early in my career that seemed to [explode] like “Locomotion” or “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” If social media had been around then, would they have been the biggest songs? I don’t know. But it’s certainly stand-alone in that it’s the first song I’ve had with that viral impact. It took all of us by surprise.

The Tension album cover — which features you holding a giant diamond — is all over Las Vegas. What’s the story behind it?

The story is that Haris Nukem took the photographs [and created] all of the artwork for the album. His style is hyper-real. He presented a bunch of different sketches on his iPad. I remember him saying, “I don’t know, I just had this vision of you holding a diamond.” It was really pointy and painful. Haris got a bit of sandpaper and took it away, filed the point down, then brought it back. I was like, “OK. I can do this now.”

The word “eras” is thrown around a lot these days. How would you describe your current era?

Kylie Minogue ’s golden year continues with a headlining spot at Splendour in the Grass 2024, Australia’s famous mid-winter camping festival.

The pop superstar will headline the first night of Splendour, slated for Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 21, at Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands. U.S. hip-hop star Future is the Saturday night headliner, and Canadian alt-rock heroes Arcade Fire top the bill on the third and final night.

Established in 2001 and held each year in Byron Bay, a dreamy beach town on the most easterly tip of Australia, Splendour is a destination event. It hasn’t been a dream for organizers Secret Sounds in recent years. The popular fest was announced, then shelved several times during the pandemic. Then, in 2022, extreme weather conditions wrecked the first day of Splendour 2022, contributing to softer-than-usual ticket sales for the 2023 edition.

Tickets for Splendour 2024 go on sale from Thursday, March 21 via moshtix.com.au , with the SITG members pre-sale opening March 14. Single day tickets are priced at A$179 (plus fees), three-day tickets are $399 (plus fees), camping tickets cost $159 (plus fees) and the premium “VIP Village VIP” three-day ticket is A$599 (plus fees).

Kylie Minogue admits she ‘struggled to navigate’ changing music industry amid epic career revival with Padam Padam

KYLIE Minogue is top of the pop world again at the age of 55 — with a song initially snubbed by some radio stations.

Her tune Padam Padam topped Capital’s Big Top 40 chart on Sunday and is set to break the Top 20 in the official chart this week.

It is her biggest seller in more than a decade — and comes 35 years after her debut UK hit I Should Be So Lucky.

But Padam Padam was originally not played on stations including BBC Radio 1 and Capital FM — instead initially being targeted at older audiences on BBC Radio 2 when it was released on May 18.

Radio 1 was accused of “ageism” by Madonna in 2015 for not playing her music at a time when she was still headlining the Brit Awards.

But Kylie, who marked her birthday at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, has broken the mould for ageing stars making an impact with younger audiences.

Her electronic dance track has built up a fanbase on social media — with memes of reactions to the song rife.

Reactions range from praising to the tune to debating what the title means.

One fan of the tune wrote: “Kylie ­Minogue saving pop music once again”. 

While another said: “I think “Padam Padam” is a hilariously Australian way to pronounce a heartbeat.”

Of the social media interactions, Kylie said: “What’s happening with Padam Padam — the memes and the videos are cracking me up.”

The impact of becoming an online hit was recognised by getting the top spot in the Capital Top 40 — which ranks downloads, streams and radio airplay.

But she is also flying in the charts for sales and downloads — she is currently No 26, but is set to break the Top 20 for the first time in nine years this week.

The former Neighbours actress is grateful for the impact the web has had in revitalising her music career — which has had seven UK No1s.

She said: “It’s been a little tricky trying to navigate and to understand it. Now I think it’s amazing and I do wonder what it would have been like if it had started with my career.

“I feel like I have one foot in the old world and one foot in the new. I do marvel at people who are really good at it.

“I do my best but I have guarded my private life so you don’t see me on Instagram posting wherever.”

Padam Padam’s success is not limited just to the UK charts - it is set to see her make a return to America’s Billboard Top 100 for the first time in almost two decades

The song is the first single from her 16th album, Tension, which is scheduled to be released in September

She then is set for her biggest tour in five years next year — with arena concerts being performed across the UK.

Padam Padam is currently sitting at No26 on the Official charts

Hey if Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera were able to perform in a decent sized theater with the floppage that they served, I'm sure Kylie will be able to fill up the seats given how aggressively good her PR and Marketing team is at the moment. 

I just hope that this is an Xtina kind of deal (should the residency be true) and that she will not prolong her stay in sin city, we don't want her to rot there.

I called this one a few days back. Vegas really is her tour rihtirement plan. 

And here I thought UK, Europe and Australia will get an Aprhodite Les Folies levels of tour production and Asia will get a scaled down version. I remember my cousin asking me to chaperone her in 2011 for Aphrodite live in Manila and it was a cute scaled down concert. Did not make me a fan at that time...well not until she released disco.

REPORT: Kylie Minogue Recording New Dance Album, Eyes Re-Release of ‘Tension’

Kylie Minogue is busy in the studio, according to one report.

According to The Sun , Minogue plans to re-release her album ‘Tension’ with new songs as well as her recording a whole new dance album.

“Kylie has made it clear to her team this is no time to slow down. Plans are already in motion for the next two albums, one of which will be a repackage of Tension with additional songs. As for the direction of album 17 it’s early days — but a full-on dance album is in the works. The plan is to release the Tension repackage towards the end of the year, with probably up to five new tracks,” a source told the publication.

Kylie and Joel Corry have apparently been working on some songs together, however, it has not been revealed as to how many or what ones will make the album.

Isn’t that album already a dance album ?! Just leave it as it is and release a new LP whenever it’s ready.

Tension has alot of 1980s throwback songs, aka “synth pop”. I think her team wants to recreate the success of Padam so they are starting fresh with material that is more in that direction, padam is more electro and Eastern European.

"Tension at the Disco Tour " is the nineteenth tour by Kylie Minogue , in support of her of fifteenth and sixteenth studio albums, Disco (2020) and Tension (2023).

Background [ ]

After COVID-19 cancelled Minogue's plans to tour Disco she started working on a new Album called Tension .Kylie thought that since didn't get a chance to tour Disco she would combined the two and perform songs from both Albums.

On May 16 2023, Kylie announced that she would be touring the new album as well as Disco. She teased that the tour would contain 44 songs some from Tension and Disco and many from her back catalogue such as Can't Get You Out of My Head , Love at First Sight , Better the Devil You Know and Kids .

Staging [ ]

The Staging changed shape during the designing process.The stage extended into two corners of each arena apart from smaller venues. The stage was split into A stage and B stage and C Stage

Concert Synposis [ ]

The show begins with Kylie appears on the giant screen dressed in a cape with just her lips showing, singing an excerpt of " Magic ", which is followed by a chorus of " Come into My World "; after this, the screen goes dark. Then drums start drumming like Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour , Kylie then emerges onto the stage dressed in the outfit from the promotion of " Padam Padam " and starts singing " Your Disco Needs You " Kylie welcomes the audience to Tension at The Disco. Kylie then performs the lead single from Tension , "Padam Padam" with the dancers laying on the ground. Then as Kylie is performing Padam Padam the mirrored steps emerge and Kylie transitions into " I Love It and performs like she did at Infinite Disco . Kylie then follows with " In Your Eyes . Kylie then closes the section with the album version of " On a Night Like This .

KYLIE Minogue has been named as one of the Electric Picnic headliners for 2024.

The Can't Get You Out Of My Head star will join Calvin Harris, Noah Kahan, Gerry Cinnamon, Kodaline and RAYE at the Stradbally festival.

Over 50 acts including Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Jazzy, Kneecap, The Scratch, Damien Dempsey, The Wolfe Tones and Kasabian will perform over the course of the weekend from August 16 to 18.

And superstar Kylie has said she can't wait to perform for her Irish fans.

She said: "See you in Summer Ire-la-la-land" with two kiss emojis.

A small number of tickets have just been released due to failed credit card payments.

Noah Kahan and Gerry Cinnamon will headline on Friday night, Calvin Harris and Kodaline on Saturday and Kylie and RAYE on Sunday.

Festival Director Melvin Benn said: "Electric Picnic is the slightly earlier jewel in the crown of the festival calendar this year of course and what a crown it is.

"A crown that 75,000 people get to wear and be part of and what a lineup they have to be part of.

"The Wolfe Tones returning was a must. The Scratch and The Waterboys are unmissable for me.

The Wolfe Tones have also shared their joy after it was announced that the band will take to the main stage.

They wrote on X: "The Wolfe Tones are excited to be part of an amazing line-up at Electric Picnic 2024!

"We will take to the main stage this year for something very special!!

"Roll on August 16 - 18 in Stradbally, Co. Laois ... Let The People Sing!"

Noah Kahan said: "This picnic is gonna be so electric please come watch my set and wear sunscreen!! I can’t wait to see you @EPfestival ."

Last September, The Wolfe Tones swamped their tent at the  Electric Picnic .

And the balladeers have decided they want to “go out on a high” with arena dates in Belfast and  Dublin  this October before  calling it quits .

Singer Tommy Byrne made the decision to finish with agreement coming from fellow members Brian Warfield and Noel Nagle.

Tommy told The Irish Sun: “I never thought that we would go on so long.

"It’s been absolutely amazing, but I’m 80 next year and I think that would be a good time to stop.

“I brought this motion to Brian and Noel and they agreed. To go out on a high like this would be a great tribute to the band.”

Now in its 20 th  year, Electric Picnic captured the imagination of the country in 2004 as a one-day event and grew into Ireland’s largest and most loved music and arts festival with 75,000 festival-goers expected.

This year, the main stage at Electric Picnic will be connected to the grid and powered by renewable energy.

This marks the first time a festival of its kind in the UK and Ireland will install mains power to reduce its carbon footprint.
