  • Lobster Boat Tours

Marshall Dodge’s classic humor recordings of “Bert & I” created a soundtrack to Maine lobstermen that is as accurate – and funny – today, as it was 60 years ago. If you’ve ever listened to “The Bluebird” and imagined yourself at the helm of a lobster boat, then it’s time to come to Maine. Lobster boat tours are a unique way to experience lobstering first-hand and learn how lobster fishermen preserve this vital industry.

A Family-friendly Excursion

Guests can pull up traps, and learn how lobstermen decide whether a lobster is good for dinner or needs to enjoy more time at the bottom of the sea. Kids delight in all the other creatures pulled from traps, too, like starfish and crabs.

You can often buy your catch and cook the freshest lobster imaginable or have a restaurant prepare it for you.

Tours go past lighthouses and other landmarks and the ocean’s mammals, like porpoises, seals and whales, can be seen.

You can have a lobster tour on a sail boat, traditional Downeast lobster boat or even ships with see-through floors!

Lobster Fishing

During your cruise on Lulu, experience a sample of the life and work of the Maine lobstermen (or lobsterwomen!). Watch a demonstration of how lobster traps are hauled. We’ll describe all the parts of a lobster trap and how the lobsters (and many other sea creatures) find their way to the bait inside. Learn all about the anatomy and life cycle of the Maine lobster. For example, did you know that lobsters smell with their leg hairs?

sightseeing-with-lulu

Sightseeing

Cruising on Lulu is like making the prettiest coastal Maine postcard come to life. See different privately-owned islands up close. Observe sea birds, bald eagles, and other marine wildlife in their natural environment. View beautiful summer cottages along the shores of Mount Desert Island. When sea conditions permit, many tours cruise very close to Egg Rock Light, one of Maine’s most picturesque lighthouses.

seal-watching-with-Lulu

Seal Watching

Seal watching is the best on Lulu. Unlike the larger tour boats, Lulu can slowly and quietly approach the rock ledges where the seals rest at the lower tides. They think Lulu is just another of the hundreds of lobster boats they see every day. So, they are not frightened back into the water and remain on the rocks while Lulu’s passengers delight in watching their activities.

Over 1,000 Visitors Think We're A Catch!

Your Captain will take you on a narrated boat ride, show you lobster pots and even haul in a lobster trap for the day’s catch. This will whet your appetite for a  lobster dinner that evening .

You will also see the dramatic Maine coastline as part of your cruise. The Lobster boat tours from Kennebunkport cruise around Walkers Point, the so-called summer White House of former President Bush.

Lighthouse boat tours are another fun affordable adventure. The best way to see many of Maine’ s lighthouses is by water, the way sailors do. Your lighthouse tour guide will provide you seafaring legends and lore about  Maine’s historic lighthouses . Boat tours out of Portland bring visitors into Casco Bay, around Bug Light and Portland Headlight – Maine’ s first and foremost lighthouse.

An evening lighthouse cruise is spectacular as the sun sets on the Maine shore. Many charters let you byob so you can enjoy a cocktail cruise and sunset – Maine magic.

Lobster boat tours and Lighthouse tours during the day are more afforadable than a full day schooner sail for example, and typically take an hour or two so they are family friendly – kids will enjoy the boat ride and the chance to see a fisherman catch a real live  Maine lobster .

maine lobster boats

Everyone will appreciate the scenery of the beautiful Maine coastline from the deck of the tour boat. You will find daily and even hourly lobster boat tours and lighthouse boat tours in season in the Maine harbor towns of Kennebunkport, Portland, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Rockland, and Bar Harbor.

Dress accordingly for your boat ride, sneakers or boat shoes, and a jacket or windbreaker as it is often much cooler on the water off shore. Warning, you may be craving a fresh Maine lobster after your boat ride, but that is an easily solved dilemma at any of Maine’s seafood restaurants.

The best lobster tour I’ve ever had was with Seacoast Tours in Freeport. Great island tour with lots of seals and we got to haul a few traps full of lobsters. Best ever!

An Authentic 5-Star Lobsterman Experience in New England ★★★★★

"Being from Iowa, we don't get a lot of exposure to lobsters, besides in the restaurants. We learned a lot about the lobster industry, and concerns about the lobster population around Maine. I would recommend this tour to anyone with any interest at all in it. Super knowledgeable crew, helpful and ready to answer any questions you have!"

"This was my first visit to the state of Maine and I was so excited about learning about lobsters. The trip with Rugosa Lobster Tours was definitely the best event of my trip. I learned all about lobsters, was able to hold a live one, and I have such an appreciation for the lobsterman/women who provide these delicious delicacies to our tables! Great trip. Highly recommend!"

"Captain Bob and the Lobster “Professor” John were super knowledgeable! Easy to get to, this lobster tour is not to be missed. We learned so much about Lobster (thought we already knew a lot!!), the local industry as well as the surrounding area. Traveling with a 9-year old, our son was very engaged throughout the 90-minute trip and enjoyed the hands-on experience. Thank you so much for a memorable trip out!!!"

"Captain Bob and Jessi were phenomenal! The entire tour was educational and entertaining. We were so happy to return to Iowa and tell our friends and family all of the fun facts we learned. Would highly recommend! They even provided sea bands for anyone who potentially would get sick! Great boat and team!"

We then set sail for the Petit Manan Island here you will find a variety of seabirds including the Atlantic Puffin that come to nest every season.   We like to make everyone aware that the Puffin season is mid-May through the end of July, after that they will travel offshore until the next breeding season. The island is also home to the Petit Manan Lighthouse, built in 1857 it stands at 119 feet, is Maine’s 2nd tallest lighthouse, and still is in service today. As we continue back towards shore we then demonstrate the process of lobster trap hauling and about the lobsters we can keep here in the beautiful State of Maine

Haul Lobster Traps, Visit Somes Sound, and See a Seal Colony

Private charter: Have the boat to yourself.

Welcome aboard the Elizabeth T, a real Maine lobster boat!

This excursion is a great experience for the whole family and full of wildlife and local knowledge.

We depart the fishing community of Southwest Harbor aboard the 33’ wooden lobster boat, the Elizabeth T.  First we’ll explore the glacially carved Somes Sound Fjard, where the granite cliffs rise to the surrounding mountain peaks in Acadia National Park. Not only is Somes Sound beautiful but it also abounds in wildlife. Look for seals, porpoise, eagles, osprey and peregrine falcons. From the water you’ll enjoy great views of the grand summer “cottages” owned by wealthy “Rusticators” from Northeast Harbor and Seal Harbor. You’ll have excellent photo opportunities of the Bear Island Lighthouse, one of the prettiest lighthouses along the Maine Coast.

Everyone is excited to pull a few lobster traps. We will haul, bait, and explain how the traps work, and discuss the biology of lobsters. Learn how lobstermen are protecting this thriving industry while harvesting 120 million pounds of lobster annually. At $4 per pound that is nearly half a billion dollars fueling the coastal Maine communities. Most lobsters migrate closer or further from shore depending on the seasons. They may move up to 5 or 6 miles in a year, going closer to shore in warm weather, and offshore for stable, deeper water in late fall. In May the abundance of Lobsters close to shore is still low.

Heading east we will look for a breeding pair of bald eagles. East Bunker Ledge is a favorite spot for watching seals as they swim, fish and sunbathe on the rocks. We’ll cruise home past the Cranberry Islands, where a 200-year old fishing village continues to thrive by the ways of the sea.

Our shared tours are well suited to children and adults. They are safe and comfortable as we stay within the protected calm waters of Great Harbor and the Cranberry Islands. Seasickness is extremely rare. The Elizabeth T is fitted with canvas to keep passengers dry and warm when the conditions are not optimal.

What do I wear?

Dress as you would for walking around town, and bring an extra sweater/sweatshirt and a windbreaker with you. Also useful is a baseball-style cap with visor, sunglasses (polarized are best), and sunscreen. Don’t forget your camera. If you’re on the fence about shorts versus long pants… go with the long pants.

We operate the lobstering excursions daily from the first weekend of May through the last weekend in October departing from our location at Long Wharf in Portland, Maine. State Conservation Laws prohibit commercial lobstermen from pulling traps after 4:00 PM on Saturdays and all day on Sundays in June, July and August only. Consequently, we only offer lobstering (catch and release) demonstration cruises on our vessel St. Croix during those times.

Lobstering Schedule and Routes:

10:30 Portland Headlight  –  12:15 Seal Watch

2:00 Portland Headlight  –  3:45 Seal Watch

All lobstering tours last 80-90 minutes and cruises can fill up so we highly recommend making reservations in advance. We do our best to provide a safe boating experience, so we reserve the right to cancel in cases of severe weather.

Portland Headlight Lobstering Cruise

The Portland Headlight Lobstering cruise brings us right up to the most scenic points in Casco Bay. Our traps are set next to the granite walls of Fort Gorges and Fort Scammel, both Civil War fortifications. We’ll also haul a trap right off Maine’s most famous lighthouse, Portland Headlight. In addition, we’ll see six other lighthouses, surely a lighthouse lovers dream!

Seal Watch Lobstering Cruise

The Seal Watch Lobstering cruise combines wonderful views of lighthouses, forts, and islands with a stop to haul traps at Seal Rocks (Halfway Rock). This solitary island is home to a colony of adorable harbor seals which can be seen basking in the sun or frolicking in the water nearby. During the summer months, our sighting rate is better than 90 % so have your cameras ready!

White Head Passage Lobstering Cruise

The White Head Passage cruise is the Captain’s favorite. This route weaves around the rocky shores of three beautiful Casco Bay islands before arriving alongside White Head cliff. With Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse towering to the south, the stone-faced profile of Chief White Head watches as we check our traps. Going home we’ll pass more lighthouses and forts on our way back through the harbor.

OVER 1,000 5-STAR REVIEWS!

The crew was fantastic and went out of their way to find whales. I highly recommend this excursion.

We enjoyed getting to see what came up with the traps and getting to hold a live lobster. It was a good length of a tour and I'd definitely recommend it for the kids or adults like me who are still kids at heart. The ship captain and naturalist were very friendly and great guides.

We booked a whale watching tour through this company. It was a great experience we saw several whales and porpoise and dolphins while on the tour. The crew and staff were great and they really took time to make our tour extra special. We highly recommend this company to all who want to experience an once in a lifetime experience.

During our adventure we saw seals, the infamous puffins, bald eagles along with many other critters as well. The crew were accommodating, professional, a little humorous, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you're up for a boat ride in the Bar Harbor area.

So fun! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, the boat had plenty of room to walk around and the captain did a great job making sure we could all see the landmarks they were pointing out. I’d go again!

Interesting history of Bar Harbor area coupled with eagles, hawks, cormorants, gannets and other sea birds. Good narration by our naturalist, Ruth, who was informative and interesting. Enjoyed the lighthouses and seeing the diverse harbors and island shores.

We loved both Captain Edwin and narrator Andy. Both were so gracious, clearly caring about everyone's comfort and involvement. The knowledge that both shared regarding the local seas, lobsters, crabs, seals, and landmarks was very interesting and informative. We caught a variety of sea life in the traps - lobster, crabs, and a sea cucumber. We spotted dozens of seals. The boat itself was stable, clean, and well maintained. It had flaps to protect from high winds and sea spray, but you are allowed to open the flaps as you want. I am someone who can get seasick easily, but I did not feel even the bit queasy. They do post a sign at the dock on the day of your tour that states the sea sickness level, so if it indicates a high level of sea sickness, you can take Dramamine or other in advance. Kids and adults alike enjoyed this tour and it was very interactive.

The boat is roomy, both inside ans out on the decks; staff friendly and knowledgeable. The sound system is nice and clear so all guests can hear what the naturalist is saying about the wildlife. And...oh...the whales!!! It was amazing, and I hope to do it again. Well worth the price.

On this once in a lifetime experience, we chose to go with this whale 🐋 watching 👀 tour There are many companies that offer varying tours, and this is the only one I've ever experienced, so can only speak about this one; nor do I have anything to compare it to. This experience was 100% as expected (and advertised) with zero surprises. The Captain, crew, ancillary staff,safety/security personnel and tour guide were all highly trained, knowledgeable, courteous, professional, & welcoming. It was just a fantastic overall 'refreshing' vibe. The scenery was nothing short of amazing, awe-inspiring, and magical. We saw EIGHT humpback whales!!! I am a seasoned world traveler, have visited numerous bucket list places, and have done literally hundreds of excursions through Trip Advisor and similar platforms. I 100%, would do this again if the opportunity presented itself. For others? I highly, highly recommend this experience. 👌

We went on the lighthouse tour and it was wonderful! The guide did a fabulous job informing us about lighthouses, history of the area and alerting us to wildlife. Highly recommend this tour!

The captain and crew went off their route to find interesting sights and sea life for our cruise. The Naturalist on board was knowledgeable and interesting. Highly recommend it!

We had a great experience with the Nature Cruise, we learned a lot about the area and saw some great scenic views! I highly recommend binoculars, you can rent some on the boat, but they’re limited. We got to see seals, porpoises, and a few bald eagles, which was really cool because I had never seen one before and they were what I wanted to see most! I definitely plan on going back again for more cruises!

So, whether you're an adventurer, a history nerd, or a food and art lover, Portland, Maine, has something for you.

Let's take a closer look at all of the fun things to do in Portland, the largest city in Maine.

Downtown Portland

1. old port district and waterfront.

The Old Port District in Portland, Maine, is steeped in history, offering a glimpse into the city's storied past.

Originally a bustling seaport in the 19th century, the area was the economic engine of Portland, facilitating trade and fishing.

The district's historic significance is evident in its well-preserved architecture, featuring red-brick facades along cobblestone streets.

However, the Old Port hasn't always been the trendy hotspot it is today. It declined during the mid-20th century, with many of its historic buildings facing demolition.

Thankfully, revitalization efforts in the '70s breathed new life into the district.

Today, those same buildings house clothing boutiques, art galleries, and some of Portland's best restaurants , including Central Provisions and Fore Street Restaurant.

The two-block pedestrian alleyway known as Wharf Street is lined with bars, bringing young people to the Old Port on the weekends to drink and party.

Commercial Street forms the eastern border of the Old Port District. Across the street, the Waterfront is lined with piers and wharves, some of which boast restaurants.

Here, you can depart on picturesque boat tours or catch the ferry from the Maine State Pier to Casco Bay islands.

The Old Port and Waterfront districts are a testament to Portland's resilience and continual evolution.

2. Portland Observatory

If you want a unique experience in Portland, Maine, head for the Portland Observatory . This maritime signal tower, built in 1807, is the last of its kind in the United States.

It is 86 feet tall and offers panoramic views of Portland Harbor and the city skyline. But it's not just the views that make this spot special; it's the history.

Initially constructed by Captain Lemuel Moody to serve as a communication hub for incoming ships, the Observatory played a crucial role in Portland's maritime history.

A flag system signaled to merchants in the city, letting them know what goods were arriving.

Today, the Observatory is a National Historic Landmark with guided tours that delve into its fascinating past.

Whether you're a history buff or just in it for the views, visiting the Portland Observatory is one of the best things to do in the city.

Pro Tip: If possible, time your visit to the Observatory with the opening hours of Belleville , a great place to grab fresh pastries across the street.

3. Eastern Promenade Trail

The Eastern Promenade is a 68-acre public park designed in the late 19th century by the Olmsted Brothers, disciples of Frederick Law Olmsted (the genius behind Central Park).

It's a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Overlooking Casco Bay, the “Eastern Prom,” as locals call it, served as a strategic point during World War II, with remnants of fortifications still visible.

The Eastern Promenade Trail, part of the East Coast Greenway, offers stunning ocean views for cycling , jogging, or a stroll.

The Eastern Prom Food Truck Park offers affordable dining options in a central parking lot. And the East End Beach is the perfect place to relax during the warmer months.

Another notable element is Fort Allen Park, on the grounds of a former Revolutionary Way Fort built in 1775.

The 10-acre park commemorates those who fought for the United States with multiple memorials:

  • USS Portland Memorial
  • USS Maine Memorial Cannon
  • 9/11 Memorial
  • Arctic Memorial

The Eastern Prom is also home to the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad, where you can hop on for a nostalgic ride along the waterfront.

From live music in the summer months to winter sledding, the Eastern Promenade is a year-round destination, embodying Portland's rich history and love for the great outdoors.

The Eastern Prom is easy to pair with a trip to the Portland Observatory. It's a five-block walk north along Congress Street.

4. Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad

This railroad is a throwback to the late 19th and early 20th centuries when narrow-gauge lines were essential to Maine's transportation network.

Initially, these smaller tracks (just two feet wide) were built to navigate the state's rugged terrain, connecting remote communities and industries like logging and mining to larger cities.

Today, the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. & Museum offers a unique experience that transports you back in time.

Operating along a 1.5-mile stretch beside Casco Bay, the railroad uses actual historic cars and locomotives, some dating back to the 1800s.

The museum adjacent to the railroad adds context, showcasing artifacts and sharing stories about the impact of these railroads on Maine's development.

While I didn't have time to ride on Maine's Narrow Gauge Railroad, it reminded me of when I took a ride on another, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in India.

5. West End

The West End in Portland, Maine, is a neighborhood that exudes wealth and elegance.

Developed primarily in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the area is an architectural showcase from the Queen Anne to Italianate styles.

Once home to Portland's elite, including sea captains and business magnates, the West End has always had a touch of grandeur.

A great way to get a full appreciation for this part of Portland is to take the history and architecture walking tour by Maine Day Ventures .

You'll learn far more about the city and buildings in the company of a knowledgeable local guide.

Today, the West End remains one of Portland's most desirable neighborhoods. It's also home to the Western Promenade, a public park offering sunset views.

6. Victoria Mansion

The Victoria Mansion , also known as the Morse-Libby House, is one of the West End's most notable buildings.

Built between 1858 and 1860, this National Historic Landmark offers a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the period.

I highly recommend the guided tour to see the richly-appointed interior, undergoing a complete room-by-room restoration, its first since the estate was built.

7. Portland Museum of Art

The Portland Museum of Art (PMA) is located in the heart of the Portland Arts District.

The museum is the state's oldest and largest public art institution. Founded in 1882, the PMA boasts an impressive collection that spans three centuries of American, European, and contemporary art.

The museum's architecture is a work of art, blending the historic McLellan House and the modern Charles Shipman Payson Building.

There's also a lovely sculpture garden accessible (for free) from the sidewalk during the museum's opening hours.

Inside, you'll find over 18,000 artworks, including pieces by iconic artists like Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, and Edgar Degas.

The Portland Museum of Art also hosts rotating exhibitions, so there's always something new to see.

8. Wadsworth-Longfellow House

This historic home is where Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, one of America's most celebrated poets, spent his formative years.

Constructed in 1785 by his grandfather, General Peleg Wadsworth, the house is “the oldest standing brick structure on the Portland peninsula.”

Walking through the home feels like stepping back in time, thanks to its well-preserved interiors and period-appropriate furnishings.

The house is filled with family heirlooms and artifacts, offering an intimate look into the poet's life and his family.

A tour of the house provides fascinating insights into Longfellow's works, many of which were inspired by his New England upbringing.

Operated by the Maine Historical Society , the Wadsworth-Longfellow House is more than just a museum; it's a piece of American literary history.

Whether you're a fan of Longfellow's poetry or love historical homes, this spot deserves a place on your Portland itinerary.

9. Walking Food Tour

The Old Port Culinary Walking Tour by Maine Day Ventures is a foodie's dream come true.

Kick off your 3-hour gastronomic adventure at Andy's Old Port Pub, where you'll sip on a Maine craft beer and munch on a fresh fish taco.

Sustainability is the name of the game here, with seafood sourced directly from the Gulf of Maine.

Next, head to Luke's Lobster on Portland Pier. Enjoy a cup of New England clam chowder and a refreshing iced tea, all while soaking in the waterfront views.

You're steps away from where they catch their lobsters—talk about fresh!

Related: Best Things To Do in Bar Harbor

The tour doesn't stop there. Make your way to Rigby Yard, an industrial-chic bar, for a Maine Brewing Co.'s Lunch IPA and a delectable lobster roll.

Finally, satisfy your sweet tooth at Dean's Sweets with hand-dipped chocolate truffles made from locally sourced ingredients.

Guided by entertaining local experts like Timothy Goldkin, you'll feast on delicious food and learn about the Old Port's history and culture.

10. Lobster Bake

If you're in Portland, Maine, and you've got “eat a whole lobster” on your bucket list, hop on a Lucky Catch cruise for a sunset lobster bake on Peaks Island.

Trust me, this is not just a meal; it's a full-on Maine experience you won't forget. The outdoor adventure starts when you board the St. Croix, a 40-foot Maine-built lobster boat, and sail across Casco Bay.

You'll pass several lighthouses, including Bug Light and Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse, and get a hands-on lesson about lobsters and lobster fishing .

Once you arrive at Peaks Island, you'll head to Island Lobster Company, run by a local lobstering family.

Here, you'll be treated to a traditional Maine lobster bake that includes not just the star of the show—lobster—but also New England clam chowder, clams, corn on the cob, and potatoes.

And if you're nervous about dismantling that lobster, don't worry; you'll get step-by-step instructions.

So, whether you're a seafood lover or a lobster newbie, this cruise and lobster bake combo is a must-do.

It's a delicious, educational, and downright fun way to immerse yourself in Maine's coastal culture during the summer season.

11. Fort Gorges

If you're looking for an adventure in Portland, add Fort Gorges to your list. Situated on Hog Island Ledge in Casco Bay, this Civil War-era fort is only accessible by boat.

Built in the 1860s, the fort was deemed obsolete by the time it was completed, thanks to advancements in artillery technology.

Once you arrive, you're free to explore the fort's labyrinthine passageways, dark chambers, and parapets, all while enjoying panoramic views of the bay and Portland's skyline.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring a flashlight—the fort is largely unrestored and can be uneven.

Whether you kayak there at low tide or take a guided boat tour, visiting Fort Gorges offers a unique perspective on Portland's maritime history.

Lighthouses

12. portland head light.

No trip to Maine would be complete without a visit to the iconic Portland Head Light , which dates back to 1791.

Situated in Fort Williams Park, this historic lighthouse is the oldest in Maine and one of the most photographed in the United States.

The lighthouse still functions today, guiding ships safely through the entrance of Portland Harbor. But it's not just the lighthouse that draws visitors; the surrounding park offers activities, too.

Explore the cliffside walking trails for views of the Atlantic Ocean, check out the remnants of Fort Williams, or have a picnic while watching the sailboats .

The on-site museum, located in the former Keeper's Quarters, provides fascinating insights into the lighthouse's history and the lives of its keepers.

13. Cape Elizabeth Light East Tower

A short drive south of Portland Head Light is the Cape Elizabeth Light East Tower , another must-see lighthouse.

Also known as Two Lights, this lighthouse is one of a pair, though only the East Tower is active today.

Perched on dramatic cliffs, the lighthouse provides a perfect backdrop for photos.

While the tower is not open to the public, you can explore the surrounding area, which offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Don't forget to visit the nearby Two Lights State Park for hiking or a seaside picnic. At 41 acres, it's a small, serene spot encapsulating Maine's coastal appeal.

14. Bug Light

For a lighthouse experience that's a bit off the beaten path, check out Bug Light in South Portland.

Officially known as the Portland Breakwater Lighthouse, this charming structure is petite but packs a punch in terms of history and beauty.

Built in 1875, its design was inspired by an ancient Greek monument, giving it a unique, ornate look.

The park surrounding Bug Light is perfect for picnics, kite flying, or simply soaking in the views of Portland Harbor and the city skyline. It's also a popular spot for fishing and boating.

15. Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse

This caisson-style lighthouse in South Portland has guided vessels since 1897.

One of Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse's unique features is the 900-foot granite breakwater that connects it to the mainland, offering visitors a rare chance to walk right up to a lighthouse.

The journey along the breakwater is an adventure, providing terrific views of Casco Bay and the Portland Harbor.

Portland, Maine, is a treasure trove of experiences, blending maritime history, culinary innovation, and natural beauty into a destination that captivates every traveler.

From the cobblestone charm of the Old Port District to the picturesque lighthouses that dot its coastline, Portland offers a plethora of fun things to see and do.

Whether you're a foodie eager to dive into a traditional lobster bake, a history buff fascinated by forts and observatories, or an art lover drawn to the city's galleries and museums, you'll find something to love in this coastal community.

This story is based on my experiences during two trips to Portland, Maine. The first visit was as a media attendee of the ATTA AdventureELEVATE North America conference at the Holiday Inn Portland by the Bay . Accommodation at Aloft Portland was provided in collaboration with Visit Portland during my second visit. I received complimentary food and architecture tours courtesy of Maine Day Ventures .
