MINISTRY Announces 2024 North American Tour With GARY NUMAN And FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY

Just prior to the release of MINISTRY 's brand-new studio album, "Hopiumforthemasses" , dropping March 1, 2024, the band will head out on a spring 2024 North American tour, once again teaming up with touring comrades Gary Numan and FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY .

The 29-date trek kicks off February 27 in San Francisco and runs through April 5 in Tucson, hitting major markets in the U.S. and Canada.

A special BLABBERMOUTH.NET presale will begin on Wednesday, October 4 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) local and end on Thursday, October 5 at 10:00 p.m. local time. When prompted, type in the presale code "WHITETRASH" to access tickets before the general public. General on-sale will be Friday, October 6 at 10 a.m. local.

In August, MINISTRY gave us the first taste of the new material with the official release of "Goddamn White Trash" , featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY 's Pepper Keenan , a song that made its debut on MINISTRY 's headline tour earlier this year.

Over the course of nine tracks, Jourgensen is righteously cantankerous as ever about a fucked up world ripe for a boot up its ass. Like always, he's merely looking around at the same dumpster fire we all are, but he's got a microphone and uses it well to rage on about the state of the world.

"Just like you or anybody else, I'm simply a passenger in this lifetime," said Jourgensen . "I'm watching social changes, political changes, and economic changes, and I comment on them because I do have a First Amendment right. A lot of people say artists and athletes should shut up and play ball. No, I'm on this trip too. If I see something, I say something. That reflects on where each album goes. Instead of staying sedentary and singing about broken relationships, inner turmoil, or whatever is hurting this week, I comment on what's going on from the perspective of a fellow passenger."

Joined by MINISTRY 's current frontline of musicians — John Bechdel (keyboards), Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto (guitars), Roy Mayorga (drums) and Paul D'Amour (bass) — "Hopiumforthemasses" also has a slew of special guest contributors including GOGOL BORDELLO 's Eugene Hutz , longtime collaborator and LARD companion Jello Biafra and Keenan .

"Hopiumforthemasses" will be available in three vinyl variants, a CD jewelcase and digital/streaming platforms. The vinyl variants include: green with yellow splatter (in stores everywhere); blue with pink splatter (nuclear blast exclusive); red with white splatter (band/tour exclusive).

This past June, Jourgensen told Yahoo! Entertainment 's Lyndsey Parker that he was close to putting MINISTRY to bed, more than 40 years after he launched the band in his former hometown of Chicago.

"My career is winding down with MINISTRY ," Jourgensen said. "I'm gonna stop MINISTRY in an album or two. I have to. I have other things I wanna do."

He continued: "My public and my band are all in agreement that we are being shackled by… We are taking our genre to the farthest limits it can go, and we're happy with that. And we'll stop when it's time instead of keep going and trying to just recreate the same stuff. We keep trying to push further. So, I figure there's only maybe one more MINISTRY album to go. Maybe two, but probably one."

Jourgensen added: "I have other things to do. I have projects that I'm working on with various people. I have film scores. And MINISTRY , now we're being held to the standard of this new MINISTRY of, okay, either push further or do the most popular stuff over and over and over and over, which we have with 'Psalm 69' or something like that. I'm tired of that. We're all tired of that. Well, we are. The fans aren't. So I think this next year or two is gonna be really transformative in the sense that I'm wrapping a bow on my entire career and saying, 'Drop mic. Thank you. Thank you for buying our t-shirts… Good night. And now I hope you follow me on my next journey."

Al revealed that one of MINISTRY 's final recordings might be a 'remake" of the band's first album, "With Sympathy" , which he claims he had little control over, with the record company at the time dictating its direction. According to Jourgensen , a new version of "With Sympathy" would "tie a bow on the whole thing, and just say, 'Drop mic. Good night. I'm outta here.'"

The MINISTRY mastermind said that he and his bandmates are heading into the studio to commence work on a new recording of "Revenge" , one of three singles from "With Sympathy" , with the possibility that they will re-record three of the album's other cuts: "Effigy" , "Work For Love" and "Here We Go" . As for when fans might hear these new versions, Al said: "I think it's going to be sooner than you think."

This is not the first time Jourgensen has vowed to make a "final" MINISTRY album. 2007's "The Last Sucker" was supposed to be the band's last-ever LP. Then, while working on other projects, inspiring riffs were born that would eventually become 2012's "Relapse" . Later that year, Jourgensen began work on yet another MINISTRY album with longtime guitarist and collaborator Mike Scaccia . Three days after leaving the MINISTRY sessions in El Paso, in the early hours of December 23, 2012, Scaccia suffered heart failure onstage while performing with his other band, RIGOR MORTIS , and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Scaccia 's death both devastated and motivated Jourgensen to return the studio to put the final touches on what they had started in memory of his best friend. The result was 2013's "From Beer To Eternity" . Two more albums followed, 2018's "AmeriKKKant" and 2021's "Moral Hygiene" .

London Stage Set For Ministry of Sound Classical 2024

The world-renowned Royal Albert Hall in London will come alive with the sound of classical music on 6th April 2024 as the Ministry of Sound Classical returns for a special concert. This iconic venue has played host to some of the biggest names in music, dance, sport, and politics since its opening in 1871. It is now registering over 1.7 million visitors every year, with millions more experiencing its events through broadcasts, recordings, and new media channels.

The Ministry of Sound is known for its lively club nights, but it is also tackling classical music in two special concerts this evening. The Royal Albert Hall will be the venue for orchestral renditions of the greatest dance compilations of all time, including tunes by the likes of The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. This is the third time the Ministry of Sound Classical will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall, following two sellout shows in 2023.

The Ministry of Sound Classical is a unique concept that brings together the world of classical music and dance music. The greatest dance compilations of all time will hit the stage with your favourite dance tracks re-orchestrated, re-imagined, and re-lived. The Annual Classical, set to a thrilling laser light production, will be brought to life by the stunning 50-piece London Concert Orchestra and sensational vocalists.

The event is not recommended for children under 5. Customers 14 years and below will not be permitted to enter the standing Arena for this event, even when accompanied by an adult. All customers aged 14 years or below must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over.

The Royal Albert Hall is a registered charity held in trust for London’s benefit. Its purpose is to promote the Arts and Sciences and preserve and enhance their Grade I listed building. The venue is open to the public during the day through tours of the building, live music in Verdi, and free exhibitions. It is also home to the Elgar Room, a state-of-the-art small-scale performance space.

Ministry of Sound Classical Announces Second Perth Show, Tour Kicks Off Next Week

Ministry of Sound Classical has added another Perth date to its upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand. The new show will take place at Kings Park & Botanic Garden on Saturday, 9th December – a day after the first – with tickets now on sale.

The long-running tour – which sees DJs, producers, and live acts perform dance classics alongside the Ministry of Sound orchestra – will kick off in Auckland on Saturday, 7th October before arriving in Brisbane on Saturday, 14th October. Dates in Perth and Melbourne will follow, with stops in Sydney and the Gold Coast to be announced soon.

Dance veterans Groove Terminator , John Course and Goodwill have spearheaded the tour, responsible for the reworking of well-known hits from artists like Frankie Knuckles , Avicii , Swedish House Mafia , Faithless , Groove Armada , Eric Prydz , and more.

The three DJs will be joined on the tour by conductor Vanessa Perica, while Reigan , Karina Chavez , Lady Lyric and Sneaky Sound System’s Miss Connie will be on vocal duties throughout the tour.

Across two massive weekends, this tour will play ten shows in six Australian cities, paying tribute to 90s raves and 00s club life.

Maybe you lived through the 90s rave scene. Perhaps you spent every weekend enjoying club life in the 00s. Or, you might just wish you were old enough to have ticked both boxes. Ministry of Sound was around to see both, and now it's revisiting the experience — bringing back its massive Testament parties for another year, this time touring them around Australia over two weekends.

If cutting loose like you've travelled back in time is your ideal way to mark absolutely anything, then you'll want to make a date with Testament when it hits up six Australian cities. For two nights each in Sydney , Melbourne , Brisbane and Perth, plus one-day-only stops in Adelaide and the Gold Coast, the event will have you making shapes to 90s and 00s bangers.

More than 90 DJs will be hitting the decks between Friday, August 4–Sunday, August 13 across the tour. It's a choose-your-own-adventure type of affair, so fans of old-school tunes can hit up the session dedicated to 90s house, rave, trance and garage tracks, and lovers of 00s electro and breaks get their own shindig.

Leading the bill at the 90s parties are Barbara Tucker, Inner City, Phil Hartnoll and Tall Paul, while The Bloody Beetroots, Digitalism, Freq Nasty and Stanton Warriors are their 00s counterparts.

The roster of local DJs varies per show and per city, too, including everyone from Alan Thompson, Jason Digby, Barking Boy, Mark Dynamix and Jen E on the 90s bill, plus Groove Terminator, Goodwill, Kid Kenobi, Bang Gang Deejays and Andee Van Damage on the 00s lineup.

Ministry of Sound announce ‘Testament’ 2023, Australia & NZ national tour

Ministry of Sound is taking its now iconic warehouse experience Testament around the country with an epic national tour – heading to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Auckland from August 4 – 13, 2023 .

Presented over two specially curated sessions in each city, the first event theme is dedicated to 90s rave and its many iterations, with the second showcasing the hedonistic club life of the 2000s!

Featuring, A-Z: Barbara Tucker (USA) Inner City (USA) Phil Hartnoll [Orbital] (UK) Tall Paul (UK) The Bloody Beetroots (IT) Digitalism (GER) FreQ Nasty (NZ/UK) Stanton Warriors (UK) + 85 local DJs supporting across the country.

Session One:

Alongside an impressive revival of each cities’ local DJ talent of the era, this tour welcomes global icons to the line-up.  Their influence is woven into the fabric of modern club life; with house music queen Barbara Tucker (USA), Detroit Techno pioneers Inner City (USA), English DJ/Producer Tall Paul (UK) and Phil Hartnoll of iconic UK acid-house-meets-trance duo Orbital, all bringing their 90s mastery to Session One.

Session Two:

For Session Two, audiences will be transported directly back to well-worn naughties dancefloors with a 1,2 Woop Woop as masked electro-punk and pioneers of American EDM The Bloody Beetroots (IT) takes centre stage, alongside Kitsuné 00s electronica darlings Digitalism (GER) and legends of breaks FreQ Nasty (NZ/UK), Stanton Warriors (UK) & Skool of Thought (UK).

Joining the national touring party are the Australian DJs synonymous with Ministry of Sound – Goodwill, John Course, Groove Terminator, Bang Gang Deejays and Mark Dynamix .   This group of Aussie DJ favourites compiled and mixed album titles which went on to sell millions of copies through the decades across The Annual, Sessions, Clubbers Guide, Mashed and more.

London might be known for its landmarks, museums and free walking tours during the day, but by night, the city unleashes a sparkling nightlife!

The Ministry of Sound is more than just one of the best-known clubbing venues in the UK. It’s actually an internationally-recognized franchise with an online brand, radio station, magazine, clothing line, DJ equipment range, and one of the largest independent record labels in the world.

Since being founded in 1991 in a former bus depot, the Ministry of Sound hosts a ton of musical events throughout the year ranging from big-named concerts and New Year’s Eve events, to techno and acid house rave parties. The Ministry of Sound has become so well-known, over 300,000 clubbers and electronic music lovers from all over the world take the pilgrimage to Elephant & Castle just for the sheer reason of saying they stepped inside the world-famous club.

The Ministry of Sound spans out over four different dance floors, and contains various bars throughout the building. The club was recently refurbished at the end of 2013, and now boasts a VIP suite with a viewing gallery, a new courtyard and two new balconies; not to mention a massive new sound system.

Getting There

Visiting the ministry of sound.

Customers are asked to dress “smartly,” “stylish,” “fashionable” and “fresh” during their visit to the Ministry of Sound, so try to avoid wearing any tracksuits or caps; (jeans, t-shirts and branded trainers are all allowed).

It’s recommended that you arrive extra early to each event, as some events may have lengthy queues which means waiting outside for longer periods of time. Because of the club’s popularity, be prepared to queue up at any of the club’s several bars when ordering your drinks.

All entering customers must provide valid photo identification which will be scanned before entering the venue, and only a UK photo card driving license, a passport, or a PASS identification card with a PASS hologram are accepted. Any false ID will be confiscated and reported to the police.

Members of staff may be conducting random searches of customers at random times depending on the event, and the club operates a zero-tolerance policy on drugs, or anyone suspected of consuming or selling drugs in the venue. If drugs are found on a customer, the person will be detained and reported to the police.

There are toilets scattered throughout the club, and a large covered seating area outside for smokers. Be aware that once you leave the club’s main entrance, you will not be allowed back in. You can leave your belongings in the cloakroom for £2, and there’s also eating and drinking options available outside the main DJ room as well.

The use of filming and photography for commercial purposes is not allowed, unless it is for personal reasons. Anyone who is seen filming without prior permission may have their camera or recording equipment confiscated.

When travelling to and from the club, please note that the surrounding area is a residential zone, and to keep noise to a minimum at all times.

Prices and Opening Hours

The Ministry of Sound is open on Fridays from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Saturdays from 11 p.m. to 6 p.m. with last entry at 4 a.m.

Depending on the event, tickets can cost anywhere from £16 (for students) to £26. Customers also have the option of purchasing their own VIP table which includes a bar spend of £65 per person, private VIP toilets, fast-track entry, designated hostess service, a personal VIP cloakroom, and access to the VIP balconies which overlook the club’s main rooms.

You can purchase your tickets at the door, however you can save money on ticket costs by purchasing your ticket online and in advance from the Ministry of Club’s official website. Although the use of cash is recommended, you can also use a credit card when ordering a drink at any of the club’s bars.
