Mountain Bike Adventure

The Mountain Bike Adventure offer rides of all types, from relaxed scenic day trips to downhill and freeride. MIAS qualified instructors guide the trips and tailor each ride to the guests on that day. They have all the equipment you need for hire, plus a purpose built bike trailer, a minibus and a 4×4 for shuttle runs. They were proudly the first mountain bike trail centre in the area and have an extensive knowledge of all the trails.

The Algarve is an ideal location for mountain biking with 1000m extinct volcanoes 30kms away, vast natural parks on the west coast and endless dirt roads and singletrack surrounding Lagos.

They offer a variety of day trips , including Cliff Top Tour, Barao Valleys, Wild Westcoast and a Canal tour. They have trail rides to suit both novices and experts in either 2.5 hours (up to 25km) or 4 hours (up to 45km). The maximum group size is eight for scenic routes and six for intermediate or expert. They also have E-bikes for tours or rental.

Guided rides operate Monday to Friday. Closed weekends and public holidays. All rides start at 09:30 at the bika bikes shop . The rides are either 2.5 hours (up to 25km) or 4 hours (up to 45km). Both options have a cafe stop! Gravel rides are 4 hours and usually a longer distance.

We organise guided daily mountain bike rides from our base in Lagos, Algarve and can take you to the forests and hills to the west coast and the most westerly point in Europe 

Rocky hills and stunning clifftops traverse the landscape in the western Algarve. Bright sunshine and mild temperatures allow you to explore the valleys and hills all year round and follow trails to the end.

n the saddle, it is possible to climb from sea level to almost 1000 metres through the rugged valleys. Pine eucalyptus and mimosa forests break up the rugged scrubland and rocky trails on the way to the top.  

Let the Adrenaline flow through the veins on fast technical descents and numerous gravel & rock tracks leading to the coast. These rocky adventures are led by qualified British Cycling experienced bike guides who will help you ride through the tricky, technical sections and give you instruction and valuable advice.

The price for mountain bike tours, can include a suspension rental bike from our partners at "One Bike" in Portimao. This will be set up for your personal height and weight specification.
