1. 4K HDR Video

The camera adopts a chip-level HDR technology and supports recording HDR video at 4K/2.7K/1080p@24/25/30fps (16:9) . Even in high-contrast scenarios, like sunsets and sunrises, it can restore highlight and shadow details, allowing you to capture images with natural lighting transitions. At the same time, you can enable RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady+, HorizonSteady, or HorizonBalancing to stabilize image details in motion.

2. 10-Bit Color Depth

Over one billion colors can be recorded to reproduce your world in stunning detail, delivering smoother and more natural color gradations for greater flexibility in post-production.

3. Timecode

Timecode is designed for multi-camera shooting. After synchronizing the timecode of each camera, you can quickly align materials from different cameras with the built-in timecode information, greatly enhancing the post-production efficiency.

DJI’s Osmo Action 3 camera has a new look and a new mounting system that GoPro should seriously consider copying. The 4K action cam is built to withstand some abuse and still capture the shot. 

But with the recent release of the GoPro Hero 11 Black , complete with a new — and impressive — sensor alongside a streamlined and hands-free way of editing your footage, does the Action 3 do enough to merit a spot on our list of the best action cams ? Or does the fact that it starts at $329 make up for it?

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: Price and availability

The DJI Osmo Action 3 is available for $329 as part of a Standard Combo, which includes an Extreme Battery, a Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame and miscellaneous mounting hardware. 

The $439 Osmo Action 3 Adventure Combo includes two Extreme Batteries, a battery case for charging all of your batteries at the same time, a 1.5-meter Extension Rod and mounting hardware. 

DJI also has combo kits specific to biking, skiing or diving, for $408, $378 or $408, respectively. Each specialized combo kit comes with an accessory that’s best suited for the activity. For example, the biking kit comes with a chest strap and handlebar mount, the skiing combo comes with the 1.5-meter extension rod, and the diving combo comes with a waterproof case, a floating handle and anti-fog inserts. 

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: A clever but familiar design

DJI ditched the modular approach that it took with the Action 2, and went for a more traditional action cam design for the Action 3. At first glance, it’d be easy to mistake the Action 3 for a GoPro with a slightly different design. On the front, there’s a large, circular cover that goes over the lens. Next to that is the 1.4-inch front display that responds to touch and can be used to control the camera, a nice addition over a GoPro’s front screen that’s used to help frame a shot. 

On the left side of the body is the power button that doubles as a QuickShot button. A quick press turns on the camera, and once powered on you can press it to quickly move between your favorite shooting modes or the playback menu. Hold it in for a second and the camera turns off. Just below the power button is a door that covers the USB-C port that’s used for charging and transferring data.

On the opposite side of the housing is another door that reveals the removable battery and microSD card slot.

The back of the camera is the 2.25-inch main touchscreen display. Both displays are clear and bright enough to see in direct sunlight.

It doesn’t look like much, but what makes the Action 3’s design so clever is the magnetic mounting system that’s found on the bottom of the housing. There are two attachment points for the quick-release adapter mount to latch onto, with a magnet ensuring a strong attachment and proper alignment. A reassuring click lets you know the camera is connected to the adapter and isn’t going anywhere.

I much prefer the quick-release adapter over GoPro’s current design which requires you to remove the thumb screw each time you want to remove the camera from a mount — a process that can be frustrating depending on the mount and the amount of space you have to turn the screw.

I left a couple of the quick-release mounts attached to different mounts while testing the Action 3, and could easily switch between them with a quick press of the buttons on the side of the attachment.

A protective frame comes in the box with the Action 3. It wraps around the camera to add another layer of protection in addition to a vertical mounting point for the quick-release adapter. Why vertical? For the Instagram and TikTok creators.

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: Camera quality

The Action 3 can record video at up to 4K and 120 frames per second, has a 155-degree field-of-view and captures 12-megapixel still photos. Those stats don’t come close to GoPro’s Hero 11 Black’s 5.3K at 60FPS with 27-megapixel stills, however. 

One of the more notable differentiators between the competing cameras is the Hero 11 Black’s new image sensor that allows for recording video at an 8:7 aspect ratio, allowing users to crop any captured content after the fact, whereas the Action 3 forces you to pick recording in 16:9 or 4:3 before you press the record button. 

The benefit of the Hero 11 Black’s more versatile sensor is that you’re not forced to decide if you want to shoot something that’s better suited for Instagram, TikTok or YouTube .

For someone who isn’t worried about optimizing their video for social networks, the Action 3 is a simple camera to use that delivers on its promise of capturing high-quality video. DJI carefully points out that the Action 3 doesn’t overheat (something that GoPro’s cameras are prone to do when recording for long periods of time), and that you can even record at sub-zero temperatures with the Action 3. DJI lists the official operating temperature range as -4-degrees to 113-degrees Fahrenheit.

There are several shooting modes available on the Action 3, including photo, video, slo motion, timelapse and hyper lapse. Each mode has its own settings and features you can tweak, either through the touchscreen interface or the DJI Mimo app. There are plenty of presets, such as options to record a timelapse of a crowd, the sunset or clouds. You can also create your own custom timelapse mode. Here’s a sample of what I captured using the clouds preset over the course of an hour in my backyard a couple of weeks ago:

I also used the hyperlapse mode to capture a lap around a terminal in the Dallas Love Field airport during a lengthy delay a few days ago. My favorite part about the video is how it gives the impression that people walking in front of me are really just scooting across the ground.

As for video stabilization, you have three different options when recording at up to 4K/120fps. RockSteady 3.0 doesn’t keep your video entirely still while walking around or running, but it removes general shakes and bumps. HorizonSteady works at 2.7K/60 and is the most aggressive stabilization setting, allowing you to turn the camera a complete 360 degrees and keeping the shot still while the viewer doesn’t know anything ever happened. Finally, Horizon Balancing is billed by DJI as the middle ground option for 4K/60 recordings, capturing smooth video but allowing some movement for a more realistic experience.

I found all three modes not quite as comprehensive or aggressive as GoPro’s HyperSmooth 5.0 video stabilization, but for someone (like me) who was recording my daily life during testing (thanks to a skydiving injury that resulted in a bruised tailbone), it worked just fine.

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: App and video editing

Once you’re done recording video or taking photos with the Action 3, the work really begins — what do you do with your clips? Thankfully, transferring videos from the camera to DJI’s Mimo app is an impressively quick and easy process. I’d actually go so far to say it’s better than what GoPro’s Quik currently offers. Once the camera and your phone are connected, you’re able to download a video in a matter of seconds, not minutes like I’ve often experienced with the Quik app. 

Once transferred, the Mimo app has built-in editing tools that allow you to combine clips and photos into one creation, something that helps eliminate the guesswork of what to include or not include in a creation. 

You select a template, it tells you the number of photos and videos you need to select, and then once you’ve added them it puts the clip together for you. You can fine-tune it to your liking. 

There’s a slight learning curve to using Mimo, but it’s intuitive enough that I don’t see even a complete video editing novice having trouble learning how to use it. 

For more advanced edits and templates, the LightCut app fills the mold just fine. You can select an entire day’s worth of clips and let LightCut do the leg work for you. 

For instance, I recorded an entire day’s worth of travel from Colorado to New York for a Made By Google event; this is the end result.

Other than a few horrible recording decisions that I made early on when it was still dark out, the rest of the video was condensed down into a 43-second montage that more or less captured the day as I had envisioned it. 

My lone complaint about the editing experience wouldn’t have even existed two months ago: GoPro’s new Auto-Highlights feature takes the automatically uploaded clips and creates a clip all without you having to do anything more than plug your camera in. It’s far more seamless and something I’ve been using a lot. 

That said, the combination of Mimo and LightCut, along with the fast transfer speed of clips from the camera to phone, is something I can definitely get used to using. And there’s something to be said about having to go through some of the footage on your own that gives you a feeling over ownership with the end product, instead of letting the cloud and robots do all the thinking for you. 

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: Battery life

I completely filled a 64GB microSD card and drained a battery without the Action 3 powering down due to heat — although it was very warm to the touch. The total recording time was roughly 160 minutes. I also put the Action 3 in my freezer that’s set to 0-degrees Fahrenheit and let it record for 30 minutes without any issues.

DJI Osmo Action 3 review: Verdict

DJI’s Osmi Action 3 is a more affordable (but not quite as capable) option over GoPro’s Hero 11 Black. At $329 for the basic setup or $439 for two extra batteries with a charging case and some extra accessories, the Action 3 is priced right. The Hero 11 Black is $499 before applying any GoPro Subscription promotions — and that’s just for the camera. 

The picture and video quality of the Action 3 is good enough for someone who just wants to capture day-to-day life, with the occasional bike ride or adventure. If you’re making a living off of videos and photos, you’ll be better suited by GoPro’s offering. For everyone else, however, the Action 3 looks and plays the part of an action camera for everyone.

Undercutting much of the competition, the DJI Osmo Action 3 may not be the best action camera available, but it could be the best value option for you. It dives deeper than the competition with waterproofing up to 16m, has a wider field of view, and delivers excellent battery life. While it recycles the same core camera hardware we saw in the Action 2, its more practical body and excellent mounting system also impress – so if you don’t need best-in-class image quality but want a robust, powerful, long-lasting GoPro alternative, DJI’s latest Action could be just the ticket.

Two-minute review

It's back to the future for DJI 's action camera line, as the new DJI Osmo Action 3 brings back the 'Osmo' name and traditional action camera styling – both features missing in last year's DJI Action 2 . That means removable batteries, an SD card slot and a swappable lens are all back, making the Action 3 the true successor to the original DJI Osmo Action , when it comes to design at least.

We loved the Action 2's modular and compact form, but it had its limitations – specifically heat management. Thankfully, this time around, DJI has improved things in that department and brought back our favorite Action 2 feature – that excellent mounting system. Adopting a combination of magnets and clamps, you may never have to twiddle a traditional action camera mounting screw again.

But is magnificent mounting and better heat handling enough to fend off competition from the excellent GoPro Hero 11 Black, with its new 8:7 sensor?

The DJI Osmo Action 3 has more going for it than just convenient mounting. Its wide field of view is more expansive than that of the GoPro Hero 11 Black. Waterproof up to 16m, it can be submerged 6m deeper, and it undercuts the competition too. Available in an excellent Adventure Combo for less money than the standard Hero 11 Black, it's also a value champ, shipping with three extra batteries, multiple mounts, and an extending grip.

GoPro's Hero 11 Black outclasses the DJI Osmo Action 3 when it comes to shooting modes and image quality, and while DJI has some wins, it also fails to outperform its pricier competition with its videos or photos.

Costing less than its main competition, though, and featuring some clear highlights – our favorite being that quick swap mounting system - the DJI Osmo Action 3 is still a compelling option. And while we miss the Action 2's modular design, you can't argue with the fact the Action 3 is a much more practical package.

The DJI Osmo Action 3 is available to buy now for $329 / £309 / AU$519 in its lowest-cost package. DJI has also launched the Adventure Combo for $439 / £399 / AU$719, which combines the camera with a host of mounts, a total of three batteries, and a charging cradle for them, in addition to a grip and portrait-orientation mountable housing.

This price makes the DJI Osmo Action 3 a much more affordable alternative to the new GoPro Hero 11 Black, which starts at $499 / £499 / AU$799 ($399 / £399 / AU$649 with a GoPro subscription). Interestingly, the DJI Osmo Action 3 also undercuts the Action 2, which cost $399 / £349 / AU $609 at launch. In austere times, this could be a smart move from DJI, creating a more value-centric alternative to the pricey action camera competition.

DJI Osmo Action 3: design

• Brings back the traditional action camera design of the Osmo Action
• A brilliant magnetic mounting system
• Waterproof up to 16m   – besting the competition

The DJI Osmo Action 3 marries the guts of the Action 2 with the styling of the original Action – but it has a few unique updates of its own thrown in for good measure. On first glance, the body is an action-camera-by-numbers. There's a removable lens on the front as well as a front touchscreen, around the back is a larger touchscreen, and to the left and right are sliding doors, which cover the USB-C port on one side, and the battery and SD card slot on the other. 

At the base of the Action 3 is a magnetic mounting connector for landscape mounting, and in the box, you also get a Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame, which wraps around the camera to enable tall, TikTok-ready mounting in portrait orientation.

Generally speaking, DJI has done a great job of making the Osmo Action 3 feel robust, though the lens frame does protrude slightly around the sides of the camera. This could catch in the heat of the action, making it a potential weak point versus the GoPro Hero line, whose lenses are flush with the top and sides of the camera.

The protruding lens could also be a high-impact point if the camera falls, possibly damaging the glass. DJI includes a rubber element around the lens, likely to reduce the risk of damage. It's easy to remove and easy to lose, though, so that's something to be mindful of. On the plus, unlike the Action 2, the Action 3's lens is removable, so if it does get damaged, it can be replaced.

DJI's inclusion of a front touchscreen on the Action 3 can't be overlooked. Historically, front displays on action cameras were only used for framing up shots, but this time around, you can control all the camera's features with your digits when vlogging without having to turn it around.

While the front touch display is cramped at 1.4 inches, the main screen is much more spacious, measuring 2.25 inches. With both screens sporting a pixel density of 326PPI, they're plenty sharp, and they also get nice and bright for easy outdoor viewing.

DJI Osmo Action 3: features and performance

• Smooth and stable touch interface
• Fewer software flourishes than the competition
• Improved heat management versus DJI Action 2

The DJI Osmo Action 3 brings back the same interface we got in the Action 2 – it was smooth and stable last year, and it's smooth and stable now. Large, finger-friendly icons make interaction intuitive, and there's a simple enough menu system too.

Where the DJI Action 2 dropped the ball was heat management. Its small body and exposed metal design resulted in uncomfortably hot temperatures after even short bouts of recording high-resolution content. This time, though, DJI has improved things significantly. 

The Action 3 can record for longer bouts than the Action 2 could without overheating, shooting a 16-minute 30-second 4K clip at 60fps before stopping recording. Even when it did overheat, the camera wasn't uncomfortably hot to the touch. This doesn't outclass the new GoPro Hero 11 Black, which records for more than 10 minutes longer at the same resolution and frame rate, however, it is a huge improvement over the Action 2.

The Action 3 doesn't have quite as many software flourishes as the GoPro Hero11 Black, especially when it comes to photography. There isn't even a night mode, so the ultra-wide angle lens on your smartphone will likely capture a superior lowlight photo than DJI's camera. With computational photography having come so far in recent years, and GoPro clearly paying attention, the Action 3's weak photo capture -especially in challenging scenes - is a noteworthy drawback.

One area DJI does edge ahead, however, is with its app, DJI Mimo. Just like GoPro Quick, DJI's app offers big-screen control over modes, which is handy, as well as a live preview of whatever you're shooting. We found DJI Mimo to be more reliable than GoPro Quick during our time with the camera – it doesn't try to do quite as much, but in the process, delivers a more stable connection with lower latency.

DJI makes its interface extremely customizable. For starters, you can save up to five custom profiles so you can quickly switch between bespoke shooting modes. You can also add these modes to your Quick Switch command – activated by a single, short-press of the power button. 

DJI also opens up a range of Pro features. When capturing photos, you can shoot in JPEG or RAW, switch between a wide or standard field of view, control shutter speed and ISO, and adjust white balance. On the subject of white balance, under the lens, DJI includes a color sensor to help the camera capture natural-looking hues.

Pro video capture gives users control over white balance, ISO and shutter speed, just like Pro photo, but also offers an extra color profile, D-Cinelike, for flatter tones that gives users more scope to recolor with video editing software.

DJI Osmo Action 3: image and video quality

• Shoots at up to 4K 120fps
• Horizon leveling up to 45º at 4K
• 360º horizon leveling at up to 2.7K

If you've used the DJI Action 2, you'll know what to expect from the Osmo Action 3. The cameras share the same characteristics when it comes to both photos and videos. That means that the Action 3 isn't best in class, with performance missing out when compared to both this year's GoPro Hero 11 Black and last year's GoPro Hero 10 Black . That isn't to say video captured on the Action 3 is bad, though.

In brightly-lit environments, you can shoot good-looking, sharp footage from the Action 3 at up to 4K resolution. If you mainly shoot vlogging-style content, and don't need a super-wide 155º FOV, you'd be better opting for a less expansive action camera. The Action 3 doesn't prioritize faces when it exposes a scene, and it also misses out on detail picked up by competing cameras like the GoPro Hero 10 and 11. 

By getting more in frame with its wider 155º FOV, DJI also makes it harder to expose the image for all the elements in-frame. As you can see in the sample above, when vlogging, the Action 3 has to contend with a huge amount of sky, and on the other end of the exposure spectrum, dark foreground and background elements in the bottom half of the scene. With its limited dynamic range, matched with the fact it doesn't seem to prioritize faces by default, the Action 3 misses the mark for vlogging. 

When you switch out the lens to a less wide field of view, detail falls off, and the camera still underexposes faces. For vloggers, therefore, we'd definitely recommend stumping up for the GoPro Hero 10 or 11 Black with a Media Mod if you know you'll be shooting outdoors in unpredictable situations.

Also illustrated in the above video is horizon leveling, a feature introduced in the Action 2. This keeps footage looking steady, compensating for tilts at up to 45-degree at 4K resolution, and able to handle 360-degree rotation at 2.7K without so much as a tiny sway appearing in your footage.

If the Hero 11 Black hadn't been announced, the Action 3's horizon leveling would have been super-competitive, but now that GoPro's latest action camera ups the ante with its higher-resolution 5.3K 360-degree leveling, DJI's implementation loses some of its shine. It also doesn't do as well in dimly lit scenes, with tilts visible as judders in footage. Given the fact the Action 3 undercuts the competition, though, it's still an excellent feature for the camera's price.

The additional shooting modes on the DJI Osmo Action 3 are exactly what you'd expect from an action camera. You can see an example of a time lapse video above, and it looks good. The example also elegantly communicates the style with which the Action 3 captures content. Enjoyably expansive, though with limited dynamic range and detail versus some of the competition.

As for audio quality, the DJI Osmo Action 3 captures clean sound from its three microphones, tuning out background and wind noise relatively well. We actually prefer the quality of its audio versus the GoPro Hero 11 Black when vlogging, especially if you're out and about. 

If you have an excellent wireless DJI Mic , you can easily upgrade your audio quality by simply plugging the receiver straight into the side of the Osmo Action 3.

Should I buy the DJI Osmo Action 3?

Buy it if....

You love diving The DJI Action 3 is waterproof up to 16m, outperforming the GoPro Hero 11 Black, which caps out at 10m. This makes it a better choice for divers who don't fancy donning a case. If you don't mind using a case, the Action 3 can dive as deep as 60m.

You need quick mounting With a few quick-release adapter mounts, you can swiftly mount and unmount your DJI Osmo Action 3 from your favourite tripods, grips, helmets, car bonnets and more. Combining magnets and a clamping system, DJI's mounting system could save you from ever needing to screw your action camera in place with a traditional mounting system ever again.

You want the widest angle available Despite slightly undercutting the competition, the DJI Osmo Action 3 actually offers a wider angle of view than any GoPro Hero Black, with a 155-degree lens, which works out to 12.7mm, when translated to traditional focal length measurements. 

Don'y buy it if...

You're a social media maven DJI claims its new Osmo Action 3 is perfect for TikTok and Instagram because it can be mounted vertically with a special case. Compared to the GoPro Hero 11 Black, though, which shoots native 8:7 content that's poised to be cropped for all social media platforms, DJI's solution misses the mark. If GoPro hadn't changed the game with its new sensor size, DJI's Osmo Action 3 might have competed, but as it stands, Instagrammers, TikTokers, and YouTubers after multiple edits from one clip should opt for the Hero 11 Black.

You shoot long clips at high quality The DJI Osmo Action 3 doesn't like shooting long clips at its maximum 4K resolution at 60fps. Capping out at around 16 minutes 30 seconds, while it outperforms its predecessor, it can't best the GoPro Hero 11 Black, which can shoot over 28 minutes with matching quality. 

You want the best action camera photography DJI doesn't dial up its Action 3's photography software anywhere near as much as GoPro does. Whether you're talking about last year's Hero 10 Black or the new Hero 11 Black, GoPro employs computational photography to eke a little extra from its photos. Night Mode, Super Photo – both help with dynamic range on GoPro's cameras, while the DJI Osmo Action 3 falls short in high-contrast situations.

Do not use the camera in hot springs or expose it to corrosive liquids. * Due to platform compatibility issue, the DJI Mimo app has been removed from Google Play. Apologies for the lack of communication on our end. There was significant delay for Osmo Action 3 and when the stocks arrived, Altitude was the only dealer that decided not to sell to protect our customers from focus issues reported globally. At the time of this review, we are well stocked and the focus issue has been partially addressed by DJI with a software upgrade. We'd suggest watching youtube reviews of this issue prior to purchasing.

Imaging System

High-Definition Video

The camera features a 1/1.7" sensor to record up to 4K120 video and capture experiences in dynamic, smooth detail. A super-wide 155° FOV makes every scene more appealing, immersive, and memorable.

Color Temperature Calibration

The Action 3's color temperature sensor intelligently adjusts white balance and auto-exposure for highly accurate colors, even in complex lighting environments like when scuba or free diving deep below the surface.

HDR video lets you pick up subtle highlight and shadow details. Even in high-contrast environments, 4K recording captures these nuances and soft lighting transitions. Stabilization modes can also be turned on when shooting in 4K HDR to effectively eliminate camera shake.

Secure and Efficient

The Osmo Action 3's innovative quick-release design enhances impact resistance with the combination of powerful magnetic force and an additional positioning clip. This makes it more than ready for high-intensity scenarios. It's also easy to detach and flexible enough to quickly switch up locations and accessories.

Vertical Shooting

The horizontal-vertical protective frame lets you switch things up and shoot vertically within seconds. Just detach it, turn it, and reattach it.

The camera body is fully optimized to be used at depths of up to 52', enhancing your underwater adventures without the need for additional accessories.

High-Strength Glass

The front screen, rear screen, and lens protective cover are all made with high-strength Gorilla Glass, which is not only wear and scratch resistant, but also drop resistant up to 4.9'. These three spots feature hydrophobic coating, which repels water quickly without affecting image quality.

The Osmo Action 3 doesn't just handle cold weather, it allows you to continuously record for up to 150 minutes in temperatures as low as -4°F. The battery capacity limits have been pushed even further with the Osmo Action 3 to allow 2.5+ hours of use. Capture entire adventures all on a single charge.

Fast Charging

The Osmo Action 3 natively supports fast-charge technology. In just 18 minutes, it can be powered up to 80%, which is enough for approximately two hours of shooting.

Stabilization System

RockSteady 3.0

A new-generation intelligent stabilization algorithm fuels the latest version of RockSteady EIS, which can effectively eliminate camera shake in all directions. It supports use while recording at up to 4K120, providing a stable and immersive first-person perspective.

HorizonSteady

This smart stabilization feature helps to eliminate camera shake in all directions, and even horizontally corrects tilt at any angle. That means footage can remain horizontally level, even through heavy bumps and 360° rotations. In addition, you can activate HorizonBalancing, which corrects the tilt horizontally within ±45° and supports recording stable 4K60 videos.

Dual Touchscreens

The front screen is convenient for vlogging and framing selfies and supports commonly used touch control functions. No more turning the camera around for parameter adjustments, mode switching, or video playback. When the camera is switched between horizontal and vertical orientations, the user interface adapts accordingly. The touchscreens are also sensitive enough to be operated easily with wet hands.

Voice Prompt

Intuitive control, even if you can't see the screens. Short press the Quick Switch button and the camera will voice broadcast the current shooting mode. Even if the camera is installed on a helmet or other hard-to-see location, you can accurately select the required mode and be confident you'll never miss the moment you want to record. You can even add up to five sets of custom parameters to the shooting mode list.

Voice Control

Remotely control your camera with just your voice. Ideal for scenarios where your hands are busy, the Action 3 recognizes voice commands with a high recognition rate, letting you stay locked into the moment.

Sound Recording

Stereo Recording

Exceptional audio performance means more immersive results. Reception direction can be adjusted for more targeted and accurate sound recording. A hidden microphone at the bottom of the Action 3 even suppresses wind noise, giving you more audio-recording confidence in windy or high-speed scenarios.

Connect External Mics

The Action 3 is compatible with the optional DJI Mic, which is portable, easy to mount, and features a transmission distance of up to 820'. The camera can also connect to other external microphones via the universal 3.5mm connector.

The Osmo Action 3 can be used as a webcam for a more dynamic communication experience. Whether for meetings, classes, or just chatting with friends, easily switch between multiple perspectives and use the stereo sound for clearer conversations.

In just three days, this Moscow itinerary takes in all the most iconic sights of this attraction-packed destination. After two and half days getting acquainted with the city, we’ve set time aside for you to explore Moscow your way and discover your own favourite hang-outs in a city overflowing with hidden treasures

3-Day Moscow Tour Highlights:

• Panoramic Tour of Moscow: See Moscow beyond the postcard images on a private excursion by car through the city streets including a drive along the banks of the Moskva River. Visit the famous Bolshoi Theatre, pass by Gorky Park and the Novodevichy Convent, and admire the city from on high at the Sparrow Hill observation platform.
• Moscow Historical City Centre Guided Walking Tour : Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of one of the world’s biggest metropolises and discover local haunts on foot, including the Red Square, the Kremlin and the multi-coloured domes of St Basil’s Cathedral.
• Armory Chamber tour: Explore the endless treasures of this unique museum, displaying the wealth accumulated by Russian rulers from the 12th century until the October Revolution of 1917. Walking through the exhibition halls is a journey through the centuries.
• Moscow Metro Tour : Go deep underground on a subway tour of the famous Moscow metro. The world’s deepest metro system is renowned for its palatial, art-adorned stations, complete with marble columns and chandeliers.

On your first day, you’ll be treated to a panoramic, drive-by tour of Moscow to get a feel for the immense scale of one of the world’s most rapidly developing urban centres. The city’s history unfolds in real-time as you pass lavish imperial mansions, solemn Soviet structures and luxurious modern shopping centres.

Day two kicks off exploring Moscow’s historic centre on foot, followed by a tour of the Kremlin, the seat of Russian power and political intrigue for centuries. Stand in the Red Square, surrounded by the stunning architecture as you hear stories of the people and events behind many of Moscow’s most iconic landmarks.

On your final day, we’ll head beneath the city for a tour of the Moscow Metro and its famously ornate underground stations. Art lovers should hit up one of Moscow’s many world-class galleries such as the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Pushkin Museum or Garage, Moscow’s cutting-edge contemporary art museum. History fans can follow a Soviet trail through the city including Stalin’s Bunker, while those seeking a more indulgent experience can browse trendy neighbourhoods like Kitay Gorod or shop for everything from fashion to kitsch souvenirs at the enchanting Izmaylovo Flea Market. Foodies can head to one of the countless speciality stores sampling vodka, caviar and chocolate.

If you only have a few days to spend in Moscow, this tour will ensure you make the most of your time in the city. Let the experts navigate you through this complex and occasionally overwhelming capital, giving you plenty of time to soak up the city’s most unmissable attractions.

Day 1 Panoramic city tour

Welcome to the glorious capital of Russia, Moscow! You’ll be met by your driver at the airport and taken to your centrally located hotel.

After check-in and rest, meet your private guide at the hotel lobby for a comprehensive tour of Moscow by car. Visit the starkly contrasting Theatre Square to see the stunning Bolshoi Theatre, pass Tverskaya Street, the city’s main boulevard and home to the landmark Yeleseyevskiy Grocery Store.

You’ll enjoy a panoramic drive along the Moskva River, where a huge, controversial state of Peter the Great was erected. Pass by the legendary Gorky Park and the White House before a stop at the architecturally stunning Novodevichy Convent, and the observation platform at Sparrow Hills, for a bird’s eye view over this staggering megalopolis.

Day 2 Red Square and Kremlin

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the historical city centre. Stroll through the Red Square, the hub of cultural life in Moscow, with its elaborate ‘stone flower’ fountain and fantasy-like St Basil’s Cathedral – a postcard-perfect symbol of the nation. Admire the grandiose façade of GUM, the city’s most luxurious shopping centre, and visit Alexander’s Garden, with its eternal flame and the chance to watch a changing of the guards.

Break for lunch before continuing on a tour of the Kremlin and Armoury Chamber, famous of its collection of tsarist fashion, with regalia such as jewel-encrusted crowns, orbs and sceptres as well as arms and armour, exotic gifts from the leaders of faraway lands, and an illustrious case of Imperial Faberge eggs.

As an option* spend an evening on a sumptuous dinner cruise, taking in the stunning sights and city lights of this mesmerising metropolis by night.

Day 3 Metro and Arbat Street

Start a day with a tour of Metro, stopping on the way to marvel at some of the most elaborately decorated stations of the world-famous Moscow subway system. Take a stroll along Old Arbat street - the most famous street in Moscow. Through the centuries Arbat used to be one of the most bohemian places in Moscow. Today Arbat is a promenade full of small cozy cafes and street life.

The afternoon is free for you to either enjoy the rest of the day on your own or choose among optional excursions to explore more of Moscow. Visit the Tretyakov Gallery or Pushkin State Museum to admire Russian art. Join locals for a stroll at the Gorky or VDNH park.

Visit beautiful Kolomeskoye Estate or Izmailovo Kremlin, or spend a day exploring the beautiful city of the Golden Ring (Russian province) - Sergiev Posad. In the evening you will be transferred to the airport for your departure to your next destination.
