I regret to inform others of the extremely disorganized and chaotic experience I had with Paris City Vision during our visit to Versailles Palace on 09/15/2023. The day started off on the wrong foot with the tour bus being over 20 minutes late for departure, disrupting our entire schedule. To add to the frustration, our guide was unprepared, lacking the necessary audio equipment, causing us to wait under the hot sun while she sorted it out. The interior tour of the palace was tediously long, leaving us a meager 50 minutes to explore the iconic gardens. When we tried to clarify the departure time with the tour company via text, they incorrectly informed us it was 1450, contradicting the 1600 time stated on our voucher. This misinformation significantly cut short our garden visit to a mere 40 minutes. Our attempts to communicate with the tour company were met with silence, as they ignored our messages and screenshots of the voucher, showcasing a high level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer service. Moreover, the lack of information about our pickup time and meeting point was baffling. Our tour guide was clueless and assumed it was at 4pm. This lack of communication prevented us from enjoying the garden as we were left waiting for confirmation that never came. The situation reached a peak of absurdity when we found ourselves on a random bus, clinging to the hope that it was the correct one. A staff member, identifiable only by a vest with the company's name, provided no helpful guidance or explanation, simply instructing us to board the bus. Overall, this experience with Paris City Vision was not only disappointing but also extremely stressful. Their disorganization and lack of communication turned what should have been a memorable visit into a series of frustrations and missed opportunities. I strongly advise against using their services for any tours.

My husband and I are in Paris for The first time. Everyone said, "You MUST see Versailles!!" We booked a 5 hour tour with Paris City Vision. Right away something was off. There was no organization. We checked in 30 minutes early. The young man gave us a group number. We were in group number 11. That was it! No introduction to the tour. No "here's what you can expect". But most importantly no one told us when or where to meet back at the bus once we got to Versailles. When we met our tour guide she told us we were half an hour late. She wasn't sure they would be able to fit in another tour. She was not on the bus or with the group leading up to the tour. Many of the people on the tour asked her what time we were to meet the bus after to tour. Most tours at Versailles take you through the palace and then you're free to tour the spacious gardens on your own. Every time she was asked "what time do we meet the bus after the tour" she would say, "I don't know. I think at 4:00. I must have heard her say this 4 or 5 times. After the tour Of the palace she left and The rest of the group went out to see the gardens. My husband and I got back to where the tour group was told to meet at 3:30. We didn't want to be the cause of the bus not departing on time. Here's the problem-the bus never came to pick us up!!! 30 people were stranded in a foreign country!! Thank heaven my husband is a native New Yorker and understands public transportation!! 20 people from this group followed him to the nearest Metro station and he got us all back to Paris on the Metro! This company needs to have ALL information for and about their tours available to every customer on the day of and at the time of their tours!!! When one members of our group finally got ahold of somebody with Paris City Vision they were told they would have another bus out there for us at 5:50!! By the time the bus would have gotten out to Versailles we were back in Paris for more than an hour!!

Horrific customer service I accidentally double booked a tour and notified the company ahead of time I was reassured by my tour guide that there would be no issue with a refund Following the tour I was told by the company that a refund would not be issued AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! There are plenty of other upstanding companies in Paris. I wasted almost $200 for no reason

RATING IS A ZERO, BUT WE HAD TO POST 1 STAR TO SEND THIS REVIEW. We signed up and paid in full for the Versailles Guided Tour with Paris City Visions on July 30, 2023, and were never given any tour, instead my wife and I were abandoned by the tour group leader. We gave up 5 hours of our last day in Paris. We were forgotten by our tour leader as we walked into the staging area at Versailles to get in line. The tour guide woman, leading our group, told my wife that she would come back and give us our tickets so we could get in. We never saw her again until the bus to pick us up, arrived 3.5 hours later. We had no tickets, no entry, no help, no tour, no communications just unfortunately spending our last day in Paris with(out) Paris City Visions. We filed a complaint with Paris City Visions, and we cannot believe their response back to us that stated their "records indicate that the tour was conducted according to the scheduled itinerary, and the tour guide followed the planned program". WHAT ! WE NEVER WERE GIVEN THE TOUR WE PAID FOR IN FULL, PERIOD ! Paris City Visions is one tour company to avoid.

BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have never written a bad review in my life, but this place warrants it. This was an extremely scary experience that put a huge damper on my trip to Paris. I booked a full day at Monet's Gardens, but they put me on a bus with people who had only booked a half-day. I was told halfway through the bus ride that I would need to find the second "afternoon" bus to get back to Paris. The tour guide gave me zero information on what the bus looked like, who the second guide would be, and didn't provide me with a name or phone number. She simply said "Just get here before 5:45pm and look around, you'll find it. The bus leaves at 5:45pm." I waited in that parking lot from 5pm to 6pm - a full hour - and asked every single bus driver in the lot. Nobody was with Paris City Vision. I was completely alone 2 hours outside of Paris, and I kept calling their customer service line but nobody picked up. I texted their WhatsApp, but nobody answered. I tried to get in touch with the tour guide, but she didn't pick up either. Eventually I had to call an Uber, which cost me $140. I've spoken to other people who've had similar experiences with Paris City Vision. Their customer service is virtually nonexistent, and you have to repeatedly call and email them over and over to even get a response. They finally looked into the situation and found that their tour guide had indeed given me the wrong time, but STILL refused to pay me back for my Uber. They essentially messed up on their end, I had to pay for it, and then they didn't absolutely nothing about it. Again, have never written a bad review in my life. But there's a certain way to treat people, and this is not it. I've never felt so snubbed and disrespected by a company before. Again, book at your own risk - this isn't the first time someone has been stranded because of a mess-up on their end.

I would not use Paris City Vision. Company very unethical. I booked the trip in the wrong month due to my impaired vision. I requested a credit and rebooking for the actual date I will be in France. They refused to provide the credit because I didn't notice the error until the day before but less than 24 hours prior. By policy they have the right to not credit me but good customer service would be the right thing to do.

Horrible i was referred by my employee website and turned out to be a 3rd party vendor. My complaint was poor instructions to meeting place at the Louvre Museum ..The contact numbers were unreachable ..I even ask the locals and they were guessing and pointing me to all different directions. Missed my tour on my daughters 21st birthday. They would not refund because they said others found the meeting place!! I was there 2hrs early on a wild goose chase. Finally found them went on a non english speaking tour then decided solo tour on my own . The only reason i gave them one star because my tour for the palace of versailles went smooth and clear instructions

My wife and I just completed the 3 Day Guided Trip to Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel, Loire Valley Chateaux from Paris by Paris City Vision. From their web page: One day in Normandy to see the famous D-Day beaches Actual events at Normandy Beach was: 30 minutes on Utah Beach, 30 minutes on Gold Beach, 45 minutes at the US WWII cemetery. I don't consider less than two hours to be one day. Website was very misleading. The hotel in Caen, France (4 Star) Novotel Hotel for our first night. The twin room with two beds, was actually one bed and a PULL OUT SOFA (mattress was about 3 inches thick and had wooden planks under it) I told our guide that it was not acceptable and it sure wasn't a 4 star hotel. She did NOTHING, said they were total booked for the night. The next two days and one night went OK, but were dedicated to seeing way too many castles and churches. And we were rushed the entire trip. What was supposed to be an hour to and hour and a half for lunches and free time normally turned out to be 45 to 55 minutes. Don't book this tour for the Normandy beaches, you will be disappointed.

We bought a tour to the Louvre museum on 7/20/22. We were very excited and looking forward it but we were very disappointed! Our guide Fuméi was a disaster. Her English was very limited and hard to understand. The tour was super boring. For long periods, she did not speak a word. You could only hear statistic. She did not share any exciting !! After 45 min, we gave up! We returned our equipment and decided to be in our own. Could we get our money back? As I look around and saw other peoples faces, I could tell they were thinking the same How boring!!!! People looked as mad as me. While waiting for our tour to start, I could hear other guides from other companies sharing all these interesting and amazing facts about Louvre. I wished I could had been able to change to any of those! What a scam! Stay away from Fumei if you already had bought your tickets from them. I wonder..... do you as a company have a standard of min knowledge for these tours? My first visit to the Louvre was Very disappointing ‍‍‍‍‍

Poor tours, guides were not on time, and really did not guide at Eiffel Tower. Tickets could have been given ahead of time.

Paris Big Bus Tour Review

T he Paris Big Bus Tour is the gift that keeps on giving. Truth be told I love to walk and see cities on foot, but Paris is a must by bus because it makes financial sense, and it will save you a lot of time.

The Big Bus Tour in Paris

Is it worth it.

When traveling, I am a fan of taking public transportation and traveling like a local. It’s environmentally friendly and you can save money on car rental expenses.

Taking the Big Bus Tour was one of the best decisions that we made because the tourist attractions are spread apart, and you can see many more points of interest while saving time and money.

Paris is made up of 20 neighborhoods (or arrondissements) and the Big Bus Tour will travel through 7 of them.

We spent a total of 9 days and Paris and had a pretty full agenda which included lunch at the Eiffel Tower , a river cruise on the Seine, a day trip to Versailles, a classical concert at La Sainte Chapelle, trips to outdoor markets like Marche des Enfants Rouges, visiting the rooftop of the Arc de Triumph, souvenir shopping, Sacre Coeur, the Louvre Museum, the Champs Elysees, the Catacombs, Rue de Cler, Pont Alexandre , a croissant making class with a Parisien chef, Ile de la Cite, Berthillon, and more. We also ventured out to see Paris at night and the views were stunning!

How Long is the Big Bus Tour in Paris

The Red Route is the main tour, and it takes about two hours to see everything if you don’t exit the bus. We stayed on the bus from start to finish to get a idea of places that we wanted to visit on foot.

How Much is the Big Bus Tour in Paris

The ticket fee will vary based on the number of days that you want to join the tour bus. I recommend the combination ticket where you can see the points of interest for the Big Bus, and take a cruise on the river Seine.

It is possible to do both the tour and the cruise in one day. If you join the tour and finish by 5 PM, you can then join the cruise on the river and catch the sunset depending on the time of year that you go.

Check for tickets on the Paris Big Bus Tour here .

Are There Toilets on the Big Bus

Sorry, but no matter what the city it is very likely that you won’t find any restrooms. However, you can ask the driver or attendants on the bus to guide you. The wonderful thing about Paris is there are public restrooms available for just a euro.

When is the Best Time to Visit Paris

We went on the bus tour at the end of March for Spring break. The weather was a bit chilly and in the high 50s to low 60s. It was sunny, but not incredibly warm.

The prime months are April, May, September, and October when highs reach a comfortable 60-70°F (15-21°C).

Big Bus Tour Review

We purchased our tickets online using a smartphone after touring Notre Dame. Because the cathedral was one of the tour stops, we thought we were close, but the stop was a 7-minute walk away.

To add, the area was congested, and the instructions were confusing. After calling the tour company, we found the stop heading west but then learned that the bus stop was across the street and coming from the south direction.

Fortunately, we caught it in time and were able to get nice seats on the upper deck.

It was a sunny, cool day and one would think would be an excellent opportunity for photos. The problem for me is that I don’t have great photography skills and I was using my smartphone.

When we got to a landmark or icon, it was difficult to take a good shot due to the speed at which the bus traveled, bumps in the road, construction equipment, or overgrown trees, not to mention the hands, heads, and cameras of other passengers.

On our tour there were two routes in operation, the red route, and another color (which may no longer be available). The red route took about two hours to see everything. Then we had to exit the bus at the last stop to catch another bus that went into other neighborhoods.

The most interesting point on the second route was The Moulin Rouge. Otherwise, the sights were non-eventful, so we caught up on rest and napped on the lower level during the ride.

Overall, it was time well spent. And since we planned activities at a few of the attractions we had the chance to make up for bad photos taken on the bus.

Where to Catch the Big Bus Tour in Paris

There are 10 stops on the red route and the buses will arrive in frequent intervals. During peak visiting months, like spring to summer, you can expect longer waits and slim pickings for a good seat.

1 – Louvre Pyramide / Big Bus Information Centre (11 avenue de l’Opéra)

2 – Louvre at Pont des Arts (2 rue de l’Amiral de Coligny)

3 – Notre Dame ( 3, Rue Lagrange (outside souvenir shop, opposite park entrance)

4 – Musée d’Orsay (58 Place Henry de Montherlant, facing the museum)

5 – Champs-Elysées (156, avenue des Champs-Elysées, facing the Arc de Triomphe)

6 – Grand Palais (Avenue Winston Churchill, facing Grand Palais and Petit Palais)

7 – Trocadéro (Avenue Paul Doumer, next to the Musée de l’Homme)

8- Tour Eiffel (Quai Branly, Entrée 2 Tour Eiffel, at the north pillar of the Eiffel Tower)

9 – Champ de Mars (Avenue Joseph Bouvard)

10 – Opéra Garnier (Facing 15 rue Scribe, next to the Roissy airport shuttle bus stop)

Things to Know Before You Go

  • The tour is pre-recorded and the audio narratives can be heard in English, French, Italian , Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin, and Korean.
  • Be mindful of potential traffic delays, especially during peak hours so that you can plan your tour for off-peak times to avoid congestion.
  • Be aware of any events that may alter the experience (rallies, protests, huge sports competitions).

I can’t emphasize the awareness of events enough. There was an enormous parade outside our hotel on one trip, and protests that caused the Champs Elysee to be boarded up during another trip.

Final Thoughts on the Paris Big Bus Tour

Overall, it was a pretty fun girls’ trip but the last thing I wated to do was spend most of our time and money riding the subway all over Paris.

The Big Bus is a no brainer if you want to see the best of Paris without wearing yourself out.

As a US citizen, I try to make the most of my visits to Europe.

The more countries I visit, the more I am convinced that I’ve made the best use of a 10-hour flight.

A quick trip to the Covent Garden in London, Venice , Italy, or any another country is always must for me.

And as always, you can see whether you are in New York , Paris, or Chicago , you experience so much in a short amount of time with a Big Bus Tour.

There’s no doubt that the medieval castle and subsequent palace made a breathtaking summer residence for Napoleon, his two wives - two illegitimate children, two step-children and his legitimate son. Some rooms speak of masculine power and riches, some have a feminine air and there’s a lovely baby’s cradle on show. You really need a whole day to appreciate the wealth and splendour lavished upon it. The ubiquitous audio visual guides are a great help. Most of the information is bi-lingual, but some of the smaller exhibit labels are only in French, though that is only a minor irritation. Do not, do not miss this quintessential abode of an Emperor.
