Genesis-Star Peter Gabriel ist zurück und performt bei der „i/o The Tour“ im Mai und Juni 2023 auch in Deutschland! Tickets für die Live-Shows in Berlin, München, Köln, Hamburg und Frankfurt konntet ihr euch schon vor dem offiziellen Vorverkaufsstart am Donnerstag acht Stunden lang im offiziellen Ticketmaster Presale sichern. Der offizielle Vorverkauf weiterer Resttickets startet einen Tag später am Freitag um 10 Uhr – ebenfalls hier bei Ticketmaster.

Die erste Peter Gabriel Tournee 2023 startet am 18. Mai in Krakau und führt den 72-jährigen Künstler im Anschluss durch zahlreiche weitere Städte in Europa und Großbritannien, darunter auch für ein Konzert nach Zürich , bevor es anschließend auf große Tour durch Nordamerika geht. Biografie - Peter Gabriel

Peter gabriel startet solo durch, musikalische projekte, soziales engagement und auszeichnungen, peter gabriel fan-report: bewertungen und rezensionen, 984 bewertungen (ø 4,46), wieder mal fantastisch.

Peter Gabriel ist trotz seines Alters einfach unfassbar gut. Zwar war klar, dass es schlechter als 2007 wird, aber das liegt nur daran, dass er 2007 nur alte Sachen, also nur großartige Songs gespielt hat. Diesmal war leider fast nichts Altes dabei, was ein wenig weh tut, aber trotzdem war das Konzert top. Ich habe außer der Songauswahl absolut nichts auszusetzen.

Es war der Hammer :)

Der Königsplatz ist eine Top Location für ein Open Air Konzert. Ich hatte mir FOS 1 Karten gegönnt und somit auch einen super Stehplatz, direkt in Reihe 1. Es gibt gute Hotels in der Nähe und somit hatte ich es nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß, sowohl zum Konzert vom Hotel aus, als auch zum Bahnhof, für die An- und Abreise. Das Konzert selbst war vom Feinsten. Peter Gabriel top in Form und er hatte sich auch nur erstklassige Musiker für ein kleines Ensemble ausgewählt. So war z.B. YolanDa Brown dabei, die ich 2022 bei Night of the Proms als Solokünstlerin am Saxophon gesehen hatte und nun spielte und sang sie mit Peter Gabriel zusammen. Bei so vielen erfolgreichen Solokünstlern konnte es nur gut werden und das war es auch. Tolle Liedauswahl, großartige Musiker, guter Sound, eine tolle Atmosphäre und eine unverwechselbare Stimme von Peter Gabriel. Ich habe es gefeiert.

Tolles Konzert, ich wünschte der Sound wäre besser gewesen

Wundervolles, künsterlische Show mit toller Songauswahl. Seitdem warte ich sehnlichst auf die Veröffentlichung von "This is home". Schaue es mir immer wieder auf Youtube an. Leider war der Sound schlecht (wie so häufig im Hänkelmännchen) und das Puplikum klebte auf Ihren sitzen.

Peter Gabriel announces ‘i/o – The Tour’ for 2023

Peter Gabriel has announced his ‘i/o – The Tour’ for 2023, his first European tour in nearly a decade.

Produced by Live Nation, the 22 shows in Europe will kick off in Krakow, Poland on 18 May 2023, with dates in Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and the UK before wrapping in Dublin, Ireland on 25th June 2023.

The tour will then continue in North America in the late summer/fall with dates and ticket information to follow.

‘i/o – The Tour’ will see Gabriel playing new material from his forthcoming album ‘i/o’, as well as delving into his extensive catalogue of music, with hits, fan favourites and the unexpected. For the shows, Gabriel will be joined by regular band-mates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché.

Gabriel said of the tour: “It’s been a while and I am now surrounded by a whole lot of new songs and am excited to be taking them out on the road for a spin. Look forward to seeing you out there.”

Peter Gabriel announces European tour

And a new album is on the way.

Peter Gabriel has today announced a UK and European tour for 2023.

The man himself said “It’s been a while and I am now surrounded by a whole lot of new songs and am excited to be taking them out on the road for a spin. Look forward to seeing you out there.” 

Those ‘new songs’ are from his forthcoming album i/o and as well as this new material, i/o The Tour will see PG delving into his amazing back catalogue of music, with “hits, fan favourites and the unexpected”.

Gabriel will be joined by regular band-mates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché. The 22 shows in Europe will kick off in Krakow, Poland on 18 May 2023, with dates in Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and the UK before wrapping in Dublin, Ireland on 25 June 2023. The tour will then continue in North America in the late summer/fautumn (dates to follow). 

There is no further information on the i/o  album right now, other than the title and the fact that it’s confirmed!

Tickets for i/o The Tour go on sale on Friday 11 November at 9am (O2 priority starts tomorrow at 9am).

Peter Gabriel Announces 2023 Tour

For the first time in nearly a decade, Peter Gabriel announces an official solo trek outside of North America. The singer returns to Europe and the U.K. in 2023 for his “i/o The Tour,” which supports his forthcoming album of the same name.

The tour, which kicks off on May 18, in Krakow, Poland, and concludes on June 23, in Dublin, Ireland, consists of 22 shows across U.K. and Europe.

“It’s been awhile and I am now surrounded by a whole lot of new songs and am excited to be taking them out on the road,” Gabriel said in a statement. “Look forward to seeing you out there.”

Gabriel previously teamed with Sting on the road in 2016 for the pair’s “Rock Paper Scissors” trek. He last toured solo in 2014 with the “Back to Front Tour,” which commemorated the 25th anniversary of his fifth album,  So . He released his most recent album of new, original material in 2002 with Up . In 2010, Gabriel unveiled a covers albums Scratch My Back , followed by 2011’s New Blood , a collection of orchestral re-recordings of songs spanning his career.

Though a release date for  i/o  hasn’t been announced, more details of the album are forthcoming. Earlier in 2022,  Gabriel said he had a number of new songs he was “trying to get finished” and initially planned to release something by the end of 2022. In 2021, Gabriel posted a series of photos featuring himself with longtime drummer Manu Katché, guitarist David Rhodes and bassist Tony Levin, at his Real World Studios in Wiltshire, England.

Gabriel also shared that he and his band worked on 17 songs in 10 days.

“I’m excited by what is being cooked at the moment,”  said Gabriel when he first began teasing new music in 2020. “I have been slowed down quite a lot by lockdown. We’ve not been able to have Dickie [engineer Richard Chappell], but I have enough songs that I like, to make a record I’m proud of.”

Peter Gabriel Announces First Solo Tour in Nine Years

"The i/o Tour" comes in support of Gabriel's upcoming new album of the same name

Peter Gabriel will return to the road in 2023 for his first solo tour in nearly a decade.

“The i/o Tour,” which comes in support of his new album of the same name, consists of 22 shows across the UK and Europe between May and June. Update: Gabriel has announced a North American tour taking place in September and October.

Gabriel last embarked on a solo headlining tour in 2014 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his album So . (In 2016, he teamed up with Sting on a joint venture called the “Rock Paper Scissors Tour.”) Gabriel’s most recent album of new original material came in 2002 with the release of Up . A release date for i/o is still forthcoming.

Peter Gabriel announces North American tour dates and shares new single “Playing For Time”

Peter Gabriel has revealed details for his long-awaited North American leg of i/o – The Tour, a 2023 run across Europe and North America this spring and fall. Produced by Live Nation, the newly announced dates will find Peter Gabriel performing in Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Fans should also stay tuned for future tour date announcements in Washington, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Denver, Austin, Dallas and Houston.

i/o – The Tour will see Gabriel playing new material from his forthcoming album i/o, as well as delving into his peerless catalogue of music, with hits, fan favourites and the unexpected. For the shows, Gabriel will be joined by regular band-mates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché. Additionally, new music from the i/o album is being released on the full moon of each month. The March song release is called Playing For Time.

TICKETS: The general onsale for i/o – The Tour North American leg will start Friday, March 10 at 10am Local Time on LiveNation.com. Fans will have access to a special presale through Peter’s Fan Club mailing list, starting Tuesday, March 7.
