Zájezd Island. To nejlepší z Islandu. 16. 7. - 23. 7. 2023 Skvělé. Pan průvodce Lukáš Zedníček byl perfektní, zábavný, ochotný. Jeho znalosti o Islandu a výklad nás oslnil. Je to borec. Nemělo to chybu. Je to i skvělý DJ. Doporučuji. Také gastro chvilky byly naplánovany úžasně a místa vybrána nejlepší. Iveta M.

Zájezd Benátky 20.9.-24.9.23.Velice hezký a naprosto skvěle zvládnutý zájezd. Paní průvodkyně Milena Škorpilová velice dobře připravená, ochotná, milá, se vším pomohla v jaké koli situaci. Za mě zájezd za 1.

Zájezd: Lago di Garda, 5.-9.7.2023. Program od CK byl skvěle naplánovaný,ovšem pokud chcete vyrazit s průvodcem panem Úlovcem Karlem, tak nedoporučuji.Zjistěte s nejdříve, zda tento muž bude provázet zájezd po celou dobu. Pak Vám garuntuji, že se Vám může stát, že se domů již nedostanete. Je schopen nechat účastníky na místě a odjet. Naprosto neschopný podávat předem informace,špatná komunikace. Bere zájezd pro své vlastní účely. Co dodat?

Naprosto nedostatečné informace od zástupců CK, program zájezdu nebyl dobře zpracován. Musím pochválit paní průvodkyni Janu Dvořákovou a oba řidiče, byli naprosto ,úžasní. Toto hodnocení se týká zájezdu Francie- PROVENCE BARVY JARA.

Toskánsko 16.6.-25.6.2023 Zájezd proběhl bez sebemenších komplikací. Zásluhu na výborné úrovni celého pobytu měla delegátka Mgr. Dana Kelblová. Ochotná, příjemná, vždy připravena pomoci. Během výletů za historickými a zajímavými lokalitami prokázala organizační schopnosti a velkou dávku znalostí.

Byli jsme s rodinou od Redoku na dvou poznávacích zájezdech a vše proběhlo na jedničku. Minulý rok na Česko-Saském Švýcarsku s paní Křížovou,všude na nás čekala a o všem nám vyprávěla,byli jsme ubytovaní v Ústí nad Labem v hotelu Clarion-snídaně švédské stoly a večeře polévka s hl. chodem.Je nám velmi líto,že se tam dlouho nikdo nepodívá a fandíme hasičům,aby tu nádheru dokázali nějak zachránit. Dnes jsem se vratila ze zájezdu do Budapešti. Průvodce pan Jouza mě velmi zklamal, když po 6 min. zpoždění ujel dvěma starším spolujezdkyním, přestože se s nimi tel. spojil a zjistil, že jsou již cca 5 minut od nás. Důvodem ujetí měla být rezervace prohlidky na zámku, ale tam jsme měli dostatečnou časovou rezervu. 10 minut zpoždění se může přihodit každému, stačí fronta na toaletu, myslím že bych si rozmyslela zda služby cestovky, která takto lehkovážně nechá cestující na ulici, příště využiji.

Redok Travel, Český Krumlov, Salzburg, Hluboká září 2022. Absolutně nezvládnutý zájezd. Ubytování zaplaceno v Českém Krumlově, těsně před odjezdem nám bylo oznámeno že budeme bydlet v Rožmberku nad Vltavou. Řidič autobusu několikrát s autobusem zabloudil. Za jízdy telefonoval bez hands free a jednou psal i textovou zprávu. Průvodce Marek Krejčí - katastrofa!!!! Komplet převlékání horní poloviny těla a osobní hygienu prováděl výhradně za jízdy v autobuse, smrděl tak, že si lidé zakrývali nos. Na účastníky zájezdu byl … read more

O víkendu jsme byli na poznávacím zájezdu do Polska. Vše na jedničku, byli jsme moc spokojeni, jak s dopravou, ubytováním, tak s programem. Pan Jůza se o nás staral dokonale, byl velice příjemný, ochotný, ke všemu poskytl výklad. Nemuseli jsme se o nic starat, vše zařízeno. Vřele doporučujeme.

Vrátila jsem se ze zájezdu Maďarské termální lázně 28.4.2018 - 01.05.2018, na kterém byla průvodkyní Aniko Dvořáková, díky jí byl tento zájezd velice profesionální a moc se nám líbil. Vynikající organizace, poznávací zájezd s koupáním a polopenzí. Měli jsme i objednané počasí, teplo a v termálních lázních příjemně. Ubytování bylo v soukromí ve vilách s příslušenstvím a majitelé se nás chodili několikrát ptát, zda jsme spokojeni. Tento zájezd bych přála každému.… read more

Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow: The Best of Moscow!

I just got back from one week in Moscow. And, as you might have already guessed, it was a mind-boggling experience. It was not my first trip to the Russian capital. But I hardly ever got enough time to explore this sprawling city. Visiting places for business rarely leaves enough time for sightseeing. I think that if you’ve got one week in Russia, you can also consider splitting your time between its largest cities (i.e. Saint Petersburg ) to get the most out of your trip. Seven days will let you see the majority of the main sights and go beyond just scratching the surface. In this post, I’m going to share with you my idea of the perfect travel itinerary for one week in Moscow.

Moscow is perhaps both the business and cultural hub of Russia. There is a lot more to see here than just the Kremlin and Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Centuries-old churches with onion-shaped domes dotted around the city are in stark contrast with newly completed impressive skyscrapers of Moscow City dominating the skyline. I spent a lot of time thinking about my Moscow itinerary before I left. And this city lived up to all of my expectations.

Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow

Day 1 – red square and the kremlin.

Metro Station: Okhotny Ryad on Red Line.

No trip to Moscow would be complete without seeing its main attraction. The Red Square is just a stone’s throw away from several metro stations. It is home to some of the most impressive architectural masterpieces in the city. The first thing you’ll probably notice after entering it and passing vendors selling weird fur hats is the fairytale-like looking Saint Basil’s Cathedral. It was built to commemorate one of the major victories of Ivan the Terrible. I once spent 20 minutes gazing at it, trying to find the perfect angle to snap it. It was easier said than done because of the hordes of locals and tourists.

As you continue strolling around Red Square, there’s no way you can miss Gum. It was widely known as the main department store during the Soviet Era. Now this large (yet historic) shopping mall is filled with expensive boutiques, pricey eateries, etc. During my trip to Moscow, I was on a tight budget. So I only took a retro-style stroll in Gum to get a rare glimpse of a place where Soviet leaders used to grocery shop and buy their stuff. In case you want some modern shopping experience, head to the Okhotny Ryad Shopping Center with stores like New Yorker, Zara, and Adidas.

To continue this Moscow itinerary, next you may want to go inside the Kremlin walls. This is the center of Russian political power and the president’s official residence. If you’re planning to pay Kremlin a visit do your best to visit Ivan the Great Bell Tower as well. Go there as early as possible to avoid crowds and get an incredible bird’s-eye view. There are a couple of museums that are available during designated visiting hours. Make sure to book your ticket online and avoid lines.

Day 2 – Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Arbat Street

Metro Station: Kropotkinskaya on Red Line

As soon as you start creating a Moscow itinerary for your second day, you’ll discover that there are plenty of metro stations that are much closer to certain sites. Depending on your route, take a closer look at the metro map to pick the closest.

The white marble walls of Christ the Saviour Cathedral are awe-inspiring. As you approach this tallest Orthodox Christian church, you may notice the bronze sculptures, magnificent arches, and cupolas that were created to commemorate Russia’s victory against Napoleon.

How to Get a Decent Haircut in a Foreign Country

Unfortunately, the current Cathedral is a replica, since original was blown to bits in 1931 by the Soviet government. The new cathedral basically follows the original design, but they have added some new elements such as marble high reliefs.

Home to some precious collection of artworks, in Tretyakov Gallery you can find more than 150,000 of works spanning centuries of artistic endeavor. Originally a privately owned gallery, it now has become one of the largest museums in Russia. The Gallery is often considered essential to visit. But I have encountered a lot of locals who have never been there.

Famous for its souvenirs, musicians, and theaters, Arbat street is among the few in Moscow that were turned into pedestrian zones. Arbat street is usually very busy with tourists and locals alike. My local friend once called it the oldest street in Moscow dating back to 1493. It is a kilometer long walking street filled with fancy gift shops, small cozy restaurants, lots of cute cafes, and street artists. It is closed to any vehicular traffic, so you can easily stroll it with kids.

Day 3 – Moscow River Boat Ride, Poklonnaya Hill Victory Park, the Moscow City

Metro Station: Kievskaya and Park Pobedy on Dark Blue Line / Vystavochnaya on Light Blue Line

Voyaging along the Moscow River is definitely one of the best ways to catch a glimpse of the city and see the attractions from a bit different perspective. Depending on your Moscow itinerary, travel budget and the time of the year, there are various types of boats available. In the summer there is no shortage of boats, and you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Travel Itinerary for One Week in Beijing

If you find yourself in Moscow during the winter months, I’d recommend going with Radisson boat cruise. These are often more expensive (yet comfy). They offer refreshments like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and, of course, alcoholic drinks. Prices may vary but mostly depend on your food and drink selection. Find their main pier near the opulent Ukraine hotel . The hotel is one of the “Seven Sisters”, so if you’re into the charm of Stalinist architecture don’t miss a chance to stay there.

The area near Poklonnaya Hill has the closest relation to the country’s recent past. The memorial complex was completed in the mid-1990s to commemorate the Victory and WW2 casualties. Also known as the Great Patriotic War Museum, activities here include indoor attractions while the grounds around host an open-air museum with old tanks and other vehicles used on the battlefield.

How I Planned My Trip to Vietnam

The hallmark of the memorial complex and the first thing you see as you exit metro is the statue of Nike mounted to its column. This is a very impressive Obelisk with a statue of Saint George slaying the dragon at its base.

Maybe not as impressive as Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower , the skyscrapers of the Moscow City (otherwise known as Moscow International Business Center) are so drastically different from dull Soviet architecture. With 239 meters and 60 floors, the Empire Tower is the seventh highest building in the business district.

The observation deck occupies 56 floor from where you have some panoramic views of the city. I loved the view in the direction of Moscow State University and Luzhniki stadium as well to the other side with residential quarters. The entrance fee is pricey, but if you’re want to get a bird’s eye view, the skyscraper is one of the best places for doing just that.

Day 4 – VDNKh, Worker and Collective Farm Woman Monument, The Ostankino TV Tower

Metro Station: VDNKh on Orange Line

VDNKh is one of my favorite attractions in Moscow. The weird abbreviation actually stands for Russian vystavka dostizheniy narodnogo khozyaystva (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy). With more than 200 buildings and 30 pavilions on the grounds, VDNKh serves as an open-air museum. You can easily spend a full day here since the park occupies a very large area.

Places to Visit in Barcelona That Aren’t Beaches

First, there are pavilions that used to showcase different cultures the USSR was made of. Additionally, there is a number of shopping pavilions, as well as Moskvarium (an Oceanarium) that features a variety of marine species. VDNKh is a popular venue for events and fairs. There is always something going on, so I’d recommend checking their website if you want to see some particular exhibition.

A stone’s throw away from VDNKh there is a very distinctive 25-meters high monument. Originally built in 1937 for the world fair in Paris, the hulking figures of men and women holding a hammer and a sickle represent the Soviet idea of united workers and farmers. It doesn’t take much time to see the monument, but visiting it gives some idea of the Soviet Union’s grandiose aspirations.

I have a thing for tall buildings. So to continue my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow I decided to climb the fourth highest TV tower in the world. This iconic 540m tower is a fixture of the skyline. You can see it virtually from everywhere in Moscow, and this is where you can get the best panoramic views (yep, even better than Empire skyscraper).

Parts of the floor are made of tempered glass, so it can be quite scary to exit the elevator. But trust me, as you start observing buildings and cars below, you won’t want to leave. There is only a limited number of tickets per day, so you may want to book online. Insider tip: the first tour is cheaper, you can save up to $10 if go there early.

Day 5 – A Tour To Moscow Manor Houses

Metro Station: Kolomenskoye, Tsaritsyno on Dark Green Line / Kuskovo on Purple Line

I love visiting the manor houses and palaces in Moscow. These opulent buildings were generally built to house Russian aristocratic families and monarchs. Houses tend to be rather grand affairs with impressive architecture. And, depending on the whims of the owners, some form of a landscaped garden.

During the early part of the 20th century though, many of Russia’s aristocratic families (including the family of the last emperor) ended up being killed or moving abroad . Their manor houses were nationalized. Some time later (after the fall of the USSR) these were open to the public. It means that today a great many of Moscow’s finest manor houses and palaces are open for touring.

20 Travel Tips I’ve Learned From Travelling The World

There are 20 manor houses scattered throughout the city and more than 25 in the area around. But not all of them easily accessible and exploring them often takes a lot of time. I’d recommend focusing on three most popular estates in Moscow that are some 30-minute metro ride away from Kremlin.

Sandwiched between the Moscow River and the Andropov Avenue, Kolomenskoye is a UNESCO site that became a public park in the 1920’s. Once a former royal estate, now it is one of the most tranquil parks in the city with gorgeous views. The Ascension Church, The White Column, and the grounds are a truly grand place to visit.

You could easily spend a full day here, exploring a traditional Russian village (that is, in fact, a market), picnicking by the river, enjoying the Eastern Orthodox church architecture, hiking the grounds as well as and wandering the park and gardens with wildflower meadows, apple orchards, and birch and maple groves. The estate museum showcases Russian nature at its finest year-round.

If my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow was a family tree, Tsaritsyno Park would probably be the crazy uncle that no-one talks about. It’s a large park in the south of the city of mind-boggling proportions, unbelievable in so many ways, and yet most travelers have never heard of it.

The palace was supposed to be a summer home for Empress Catherine the Great. But since the construction didn’t meet with her approval the palace was abandoned. Since the early 1990’s the palace, the pond, and the grounds have been undergoing renovations. The entire complex is now looking brighter and more elaborately decorated than at possibly any other time during its history. Like most parks in Moscow, you can visit Tsaritsyno free of charge, but there is a small fee if you want to visit the palace.

How To Stop Procrastinating When Trip Planning

Last, but by no means least on my Moscow itinerary is Kuskovo Park . This is definitely an off-the-beaten-path place. While it is not easily accessible, you will be rewarded with a lack of crowds. This 18th-century summer country house of the Sheremetev family was one of the first summer country estates of the Russian nobility. And when you visit you’ll quickly realize why locals love this park.

Like many other estates, Kuskovo has just been renovated. So there are lovely French formal garden, a grotto, and the Dutch house to explore. Make sure to plan your itinerary well because the estate is some way from a metro station.

Day 6 – Explore the Golden Ring

Creating the Moscow itinerary may keep you busy for days with the seemingly endless amount of things to do. Visiting the so-called Golden Ring is like stepping back in time. Golden Ring is a “theme route” devised by promotion-minded journalist and writer Yuri Bychkov.

Having started in Moscow the route will take you through a number of historical cities. It now includes Suzdal, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl and Sergiev Posad. All these awe-inspiring towns have their own smaller kremlins and feature dramatic churches with onion-shaped domes, tranquil residential areas, and other architectural landmarks.

I only visited two out of eight cities included on the route. It is a no-brainer that Sergiev Posad is the nearest and the easiest city to see on a day trip from Moscow. That being said, you can explore its main attractions in just one day. Located some 70 km north-east of the Russian capital, this tiny and overlooked town is home to Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, UNESCO Site.

Sergiev Posad is often described as being at the heart of Russian spiritual life. So it is uncommon to see the crowds of Russian pilgrims showing a deep reverence for their religion. If you’re traveling independently and using public transport, you can reach Sergiev Posad by bus (departs from VDNKh) or by suburban commuter train from Yaroslavskaya Railway Station (Bahnhof). It takes about one and a half hours to reach the town.

Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a great place to get a glimpse of filling and warming Russian lunch, specifically at the “ Gostevaya Izba ” restaurant. Try the duck breast, hearty potato and vegetables, and the awesome Napoleon cake.

Day 7 – Gorky Park, Izmailovo Kremlin, Patriarch’s Ponds

Metro Station: Park Kultury or Oktyabrskaya on Circle Line / Partizanskaya on Dark Blue Line / Pushkinskaya on Dark Green Line

Gorky Park is in the heart of Moscow. It offers many different types of outdoor activities, such as dancing, cycling, skateboarding, walking, jogging, and anything else you can do in a park. Named after Maxim Gorky, this sprawling and lovely park is where locals go on a picnic, relax and enjoy free yoga classes. It’s a popular place to bike around, and there is a Muzeon Art Park not far from here. A dynamic location with a younger vibe. There is also a pier, so you can take a cruise along the river too.

How to Save Money While Traveling in Europe

The Kremlin in Izmailovo is by no means like the one you can find near the Red Square. Originally built for decorative purposes, it now features the Vernissage flea market and a number of frequent fairs, exhibitions, and conferences. Every weekend, there’s a giant flea market in Izmailovo, where dozens of stalls sell Soviet propaganda crap, Russian nesting dolls, vinyl records, jewelry and just about any object you can imagine. Go early in the morning if you want to beat the crowds.

All the Bulgakov’s fans should pay a visit to Patriarch’s Ponds (yup, that is plural). With a lovely small city park and the only one (!) pond in the middle, the location is where the opening scene of Bulgakov’s novel Master and Margarita was set. The novel is centered around a visit by Devil to the atheistic Soviet Union is considered by many critics to be one of the best novels of the 20th century. I spent great two hours strolling the nearby streets and having lunch in the hipster cafe.

Conclusion and Recommendations

To conclude, Moscow is a safe city to visit. I have never had a problem with getting around and most locals are really friendly once they know you’re a foreigner. Moscow has undergone some serious reconstruction over the last few years. So you can expect some places to be completely different. I hope my one week Moscow itinerary was helpful! If you have less time, say 4 days or 5 days, I would cut out day 6 and day 7. You could save the Golden Ring for a separate trip entirely as there’s lots to see!

Moscow Travel Guide: Best Things to Do + More [2023]

Moscow is Russia’s vibrant capital city, and it also happens to be the largest city in all of Europe. The city’s long and infamous history makes it one of the most unique places we have ever visited.

The architecture ranges from centuries-old palaces to uniform, gray concrete buildings. The people range from cold and private to warm and welcoming. Moscow is a city is strong juxtapositions, and we learned a lot during our time there.

This post will break down all you need to know about visiting Moscow, including the best things to do, how to get there, how to get around, and more.

The Best Things to Do in Moscow

1. explore the red square.

The Red Square is the heart of Moscow. Most of the city’s top attractions can be found here, including just about everything on this list. The Kremlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, and Lenin’s Mausoleum are all located here, and the State Historical Museum and GUM are not far from here, either.

The Red Square is a common home for parades, protests, and seasonal celebrations. There are massive Christmas celebrations here, with food vendors and carnival rides set up in numbers.

2. Check Out the Ziferblat

The Ziferblat is a café in Moscow that is unlike any café we have ever been to. While most cafes charge you for your drinks and food, the Ziferblat charges you for your time.

Upon arrival, you are given a clock. When you leave, the barista calculates how much time you spent in the café and charges you accordingly. This concept was created to help visitors to be more intentional with their time, and the cafe itself is incredibly charming.

3. Marvel at St. Basil’s Cathedral

St. Basil’s Cathedral is one of the most iconic churches in the world, and it was the single thing we were most excited to see while in Moscow. Built almost 500 years ago, St. Basil’s Cathedral is recognized by its colorful domes and whimsical style. The church is of the Russian Orthodox faith, and the inside is just as wondrous as the outside.

St. Basil’s Cathedral is located on the edge of the Red Square, making it incredibly convenient to visit. Entrance for non-worshippers costs 800 rubles, and tickets can be bought at the church

4. Explore the Kremlin

The Kremlin is the largest active fortress in Europe, and it is the site of most of Russia’s government affairs. In addition to government buildings, the Kremlin Complex is filled with courtyards, towers, and museums that are open to the public. If you have the time, you could spend a couple of days fully exploring all that there is to see in the Kremlin.

5. Walk Through Lenin’s Mausoleum

Vladimir Lenin is one of the most important figures in Russian history, and his body is located perfectly embalmed in a mausoleum in the Red Square. The Mausoleum is open to the public to visit, and as long as you are willing to go through a few security checks, it is easily one of the best things to do in Moscow. Its convenient location in the Red Square makes it a can’t miss attraction.

There is absolutely no photography allowed inside the Mausoleum. Do not test this rule.

6. Wander Along Arbat Street

The Arbat is a very popular street in Moscow that is lined with stores, cafes, and other touristy attractions. It is one of the oldest streets in the city, dating back to the 1400s. This street is both quaint and trendy, and there are many walking tours that introduce tourists to the neighborhood’s wonders and highlights.

7. Catch a Show at the Bolshoi Theatre

As a lover of the arts, it is hard to think of Moscow and not think of ballet. Russia has always been a top dog in the world of fine arts, and Bolshoi Theater is one of the best places to catch a performance. We were lucky enough to attend an Opera here, and it is a venue that you don’t want to miss out on if you enjoy opera, ballet, or orchestral performances.

8. Visit the State Historical Museum

The State Historical Museum is one of the most respected museums in Moscow. Despite its name, it is not really focused on the history of Russia as a nation. Rather, it contains a collection of artifacts from all throughout Russia’s history.

The museum’s collection is very broad in nature. It houses some items from indigenous tribes that used to occupy the region, pieces collected by the Romanov family, and more.

9. Wander Around GUM

GUM is an absolutely massive mall within walking distance of the Red Square. It isn’t just the size that draws visitors here; it’s the sense of luxury. The mall is so beautiful inside, much like the metro stations.

While visiting a mall might not sound like it belongs on a bucket list, this mall does. You will not want to miss out on visiting GUM while in Moscow.

10. Admire the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

While St. Basil’s Cathedral is the most iconic church in Moscow, it isn’t the only one. The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is absolutely stunning, with massive golden domes. It is the tallest Orthodox church in the world, and it is the seat of the Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow.

It is located just about a mile from the Red Square, just south of the Kremlin Complex. You can walk to it from the Red Square in about 20 minutes.

How to Get to Moscow

Moscow has three major international airports: Sheremetyevo (SVO) , Domodedovo (DMO) , and Vnukovo (VKO) . All three of them are directly connected to downtown Moscow by the Aeroexpress trains, which leave every 30 minutes throughout the day. By Aeroexpress train, you can expect to get to the city center in 25-45 minutes depending on the airport that you fly into.

Sheremetyevo is the biggest and busiest of the three airports, and it is the one you are most likely to fly into – especially if you are coming from outside of Europe or the Caucus region. We flew into Sheremetyevo on a direct flight from New York City.

I usually provide backup airport options, because flying right into the city isn’t always the cheapest way to get where you’re going. Unfortunately, when it comes to Moscow, don’t really have a choice other than to fly right into Moscow. It is a very remote city, and it is usually the cheapest place to fly into in Russia as a whole.

Since Sheremetyevo is so busy, you will probably find a great flight option anyway. I wrote in  my post about finding cheap flights  that using hub airports will lead to more affordable airfare, and the same logic applies here. Even though Russia’s national airline, Aeroflot, is no longer a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, Moscow is still a major hub connecting passengers from all over the world.

Train or Bus to Moscow

Trains and buses are one of the most popular ways to get around Europe. However, they’re of very little use when you’re trying to get to Moscow.

Moscow is hundreds of miles from the nearest major cities. The only major European city that can even be reached within 8 hours on the ground is St. Petersburg, and even the Baltic capitals of Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn are over 12 hours away.

If you want to get to Moscow, the best option is almost always to fly. While the train routes to Moscow are scenic, they simply take forever.

How to Get Around Moscow

METRO | TROLLEYS | TRAMS | BUSES

Moscow has one of the most memorable metro systems in the world. Its metro lines are very deep underground, and the stations are absolutely stunning. Each station has its own unique style, but all of them contain escalators that seem to go on forever.

The system was built in an effort to showcase the power of the Soviet Union and its bright future. The plans were a form of propaganda, but they resulted in what is still one of the most visually appealing subway systems on earth.

Moscow’s metro system isn’t just pretty. It is also very useful and accessible. The system has 17 lines that connect the city and its surrounding area.

But wait; there’s more!

The Moscow metro system is also incredibly affordable, with each ride costing less than a dollar. The metro is by far the best way to get around Moscow, as it is almost impossible to beat the connection times and the low cost to ride.

Tickets can be bought at electronic, English-speaking kiosks in stations, or directly from ticket counters at certain larger stations. There are also day passes available, which are a very solid option if you plan on riding the metro several times per day.

In addition to the metro system, Moscow also has a network of buses, trams, and trolleys. This system is nowhere near as convenient or well-connected as the metro, though, and is likely of little use to you during your trip. There is no Uber in Moscow, but a similar app named Yandex is available if you need a ride in a pinch.

How Many Days Do You Need in Moscow?

Moscow is the biggest city in all of Europe, and it is absolutely loaded with things to do. You could spend weeks in Moscow and still find new things to do. Of course, most travelers don’t have that kind of time to spend in one place!

I recommend spending no less than three full days in Moscow, and ideally closer to five or seven.

Moscow is very spread out, and it can take some time to get from one major point to another. There are also so many places that are nice to just sit back and relax, which is hard to do when you’re in a hurry trying to cram activities into just a few days.

If you only have a week to visit Russia, I’d advise spending all of the time in one city. If you decide to split your time between Moscow and St. Petersburg, I recommend not trying to squeeze in any day trips beyond those two cities.

When Is the Best Time of the Year to Visit Moscow?

There are two different ways to approach this question. Personally, I think the best time to visit Moscow is around Christmas and New Year’s Day. While the weather will be absolutely freezing, Moscow is a surreal winter wonderland in December and January.

We were in Moscow right before Christmas. While it was very cold, you can always bundle up. Exploring the Christmas markets and pop-up ice skating rinks throughout Moscow is one of my favorite memories from anywhere I’ve traveled, and I dream of going back to do it again.

If you aren’t fond of the cold, Moscow is beautiful in the summer. It tends to get pretty cold in the shoulder seasons, so if you want warm weather, you should plan to visit in the summer. Moscow actually gets pretty warm in July and August, and there are a bunch of fantastic places to soak up the sun within the city.

The best time to visit Moscow is either around Christmas or from late May to August.

Is Moscow Safe to Visit?

While Moscow is a truly wonderful city, there’s no denying that visiting Russia comes with risks. As the country is run by an infamous communist dictator, concerns about visiting are valid. While we didn’t experience any sort of threat or negative treatment during our time in Moscow, we visited in a peaceful time.

In our experience, Russia doesn’t seem to detain normal Americans or Westerners to use as pawns. As a regular person, as long as you don’t commit any crimes, there is a slim chance you will run into any issues. However, Russia will not hesitate to enforce its laws against foreigners, and illegal behaviors will likely land you in a very compromising position.

To make matters worse, Russia has a bad reputation for gang violence. While the Russian mafia has very little interest in normal Western tourists, they won’t hesitate to pick a fight with anyone who ventures into their sphere of influence. If you seek out illegal substances or activities, you could be a target of the mafia.

Finally, since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, things are all very different. Russia is currently at war, and there are battles raging within 8 hours of Moscow. While it is still relatively safe to visit, that could change at any time as the war with Ukraine continues.

Is Moscow Worth Visiting?

Without a doubt, Moscow is worth visiting. It is one of the most unique major cities we have ever visited, and we hope to make it back one day. The Russian Orthodox churches are stunning, the city’s history is unlike any other, and the food is to die for.

While many visitors prefer St. Petersburg to Moscow, I think Moscow deserves a lot of hype of its own. Moscow is the beating heart of Russian culture and history, and it’s a place I highly recommend checking out if you have the chance.

AUTOBUSOVÁ A LETECKÁ DOPRAVA

Letecká doprava je zajištěna formou pravidelných linek nebo charterových letů. V souladu s platnými mezinárodními předpisy a dohodami nemůže CK ovlivnit případné změny v letovém řádu.

Autobusová mezinárodní doprava je zajišťována plně klimatizovanými lux. vozy a při jejím zajišťování se řídíme mezinárodně platnými podmínkami a úmluvami. Vzhledem k nepředvídatelným okolnostem (počasí, pasové odbavení, přeplněné silniční tahy, změny v odjezdových řádech lodních společností) může dojít k prodloužení doby přepravy, popřípadě ke změně v hodině odjezdu či příjezdu. Přes maximální snahu nemůže CK většinou tyto věci ovlivnit a tedy ani vyloučit. V tomto smyslu nelze reklamovat event. zkrácení pobytu.

Autobusovou přepravu organizujeme jednak přímými autobusy, kterými cestujete z nástupního místa až do cíle vaší dovolené a jednak s využitím přestupových svozů. Svozy a rozvozy jsou z důvodu bezpečnosti a rentability zajišťovány osobními automobily, mikrobusy či autobusy. Trasy nástupních míst mohou být u některých zájezdů vzájemně kombinovány. V případě, že jsou v místě nástupu na trase k hlavnímu autobusu méně než 4 cestující, toto nástupní místo nezajišťujeme a CK je oprávněna již potvrzené nástupní místo zrušit. Jedná-li se o svoz, za který jste si připlatili, tato částka vám bude obratem vrácena. O realizaci či zrušení svozu/transferu/nástupního místa bude klient informován v Pokynech na cestu, které obdrží 7 dní před odjezdem. Zrušení svozu/transferu/nástupního místa ze strany CK není důvodem ke stornování zájezdu. V rámci zkvalitnění služeb a snaze pomoci vám zkrátit svozové trasy po republice, především na trase Brno - Praha a Ostrava - Olomouc - Praha, budou v některých případech na tato nástupní místa využívány i linkové autobusy a vlaky RegioJet či Flixbus, pohodlné cestování, které vám zkrátí cestu po republice až o 4 hodiny. V případě nízké obsazenosti zájezdu (25 osob a méně) si CK vyhrazuje použít i jiný typ autobusů vč. mikrobusů.

Zavazadla - je povolen převoz zavazadel do hmotnosti 15 kg/osobu. V případě nadváhy nemusí být zavazadla převzata k přepravě. CK nepřebírá záruky za ztrátu nebo odcizení zavazadel. V pojistných případech se jedná o přímý vztah zákazníka k pojišťovně.

ZÁKLADNÍ INFORMACE K ZÁJEZDŮM Délka a rozsah zájezdu

Délka zájezdu je v katalogu vyjádřena termínem. Do termínu autokarových a leteckých zájezdů jsou zahrnuty i dny určené pro cestu do místa pobytu a zpět. První a poslední dny zájezdu v cílovém místě, jsou určeny především k zajištění dopravy, transferů, ubytování a nelze je považovat za dny plnohodnotného pobytu. Ceny zájezdů Ceny zájezdů uvedené v katalogu jsou kalkulovány za služby specifikované v odstavci„Cena zahrnuje“. Příplatky a některé fakultativní služby jsou uvedeny v odstavci „Fakultativní příplatky“. Jsou-li tyto příplatky uvedeny v Kč, je nutné je objednat předem a úhrada se provádí s platbou zájezdu v CK, pokud není uvedeno jinak. Jsou-li příplatky uvedeny v jiné měně, platí se až na místě. Pokud u leteckých zájezdů neuvádíme informaci o odbaveném zavazadle, je toto zavazadlo zahrnuto v ceně. V opačném případě je toto zavazadlo uvedeno ve fakultativních příplatcích a základní cena zahrnuje pouze příruční za vazadlo dle pravidel letecké společnosti.

Ubytování a stravování

Doba určená k ubytování a opuštění pokoje nebo apartmánu je stanovena obvykle zahraničním partnerem tak, aby mohl být proveden řádný úklid bez ohledu na dobu vašeho příjezdu nebo odjezdu. Dovolená je pro mnohé turisty spojena s bohatým nočním životem. Proto jsou některá turistická střediska přesycena zábavními podniky a v ubytovacích objektech nemůže naše CK zajistit absolutní klid. CK nemůže zajistit, ale ani omezit, případnou nabídku specialit místní kuchyně dané země. Kvalita stravování je většinou přímo úměrná kategorii zvoleného ubytovacího objektu. Není-li uvedeno jinak, nápoje nejsou zahrnuty v ceně stravování. Do apartmánů, mobilhomů a chatek bývá zpravidla nutné vzít vlastní ložní prádlo.

Vstupné do navštívených objektů, místní doprava, lanovky pobytové a lázeňské taxy, plavby lodičkami apod. nejsou zpravidla zahrnuty v ceně zájezdu, pokud není výslovně uvedeno jinak v odstavci „Cena zahrnuje“. O orientační výši ceny vstupů vás informujeme na  www.redok.cz u konkrétního zájezdu pod Programem zájezdu a následně v Pokynech na cestu s odbavením zájezdu. Odbavení zájezdu Pokyny k odjezdu/odletu zasíláme emailem nebo poštou nejpozději 7 dní před zahájením zájezdu na adresu zákazníka,  ev. cestovní agentury, kde byl zájezd zakoupen, dle toho, jak je uvedeno na smlouvě. Doklady k zájezdu (letenky, doklady pojištění atd.) předáváme zpravidla při nástupu na zájezd (není-li zasláno předem s Pokyny na cestu). Doobsazení pokoje – Cestujete sám/sama? Cestujete-li sami a máte zájem o ubytování ve 2lůžk. pokoji s jinou osobou, pokusíme se váš pokoj doobsadit s dalším individuálním klientem stejného pohlaví, a to ve 2 nebo 3lůžkovém pokoji, vždy dle počtu lichých účastníků zájezdu. U zájezdů je vždy i tato možnost zobrazena v obrázku zájezdu, pokud se taková příležitost naskytne. Pokud nebude možné pokoj doobsadit, je nutné uhradit příplatek za jednolůžkový pokoj.   Pobytové taxy Některá města, lázně i turistická centra zavádějí úhradu tzv. pobytové či lázeňské taxy. Jedná se o poplatek, který ubytovací zařízení odvádí městu. Tyto taxy nejsou zpravidla zahrnuty v ceně zájezdu. V takovém případě se platí na místě v příslušné národní měně.
