Produced by Live Nation , the tour is set to start on Friday, July 28 at The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas . The tour will feature special guests Interpol, Stone Temple Pilots and Rival Sons as support on various dates, as well as some of the world’s biggest champions from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) , who will be competing in most cities. THE WORLD IS A VAMPIRE TOUR has already sold-out 30k plus capacity shows in Mexico City this year, as well in cities across Australia this spring, and is set to expand to more countries in the future. Along with news of their upcoming tour, the band released their brand-new single Spellbinding which received its radio debut this morning during a very special live appearance on The Howard Stern Show, revealing details of their upcoming tour and the release date for their highly anticipated third and final act of ATUM , which is set for release on May 5 . Act 3 will come with a special edition boxset featuring all 33 album tracks plus 10 additional unreleased songs, and is available for pre-order HERE.     The band performed ‘ 1979’ and ‘ EMPIRES’ live in the studio. ATUM features 33-tracks in 3 acts and is the sequel to 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/Machine of God . Interpol   

Interpol began in New York in 1997, when guitarist Daniel Kessler recruited bassist Carlos Dengler and singer/guitarist Paul Banks to form a band. In 2002, with Sam Fogarino on drums, the band signed to Matador records and released Turn On The Bright Lights, which made it to 10th position on NME’s list of 2002’s top releases and Pitchfork named it the year’s #1 album. Over the next two decades would go on to wide critical and commercial acclaim, with six subsequent high charting records on the Billboard 200; earning rave reviews across the map from Rolling Stone to TIME; performing on late night television shows including the Late Late show with David Letterman and Conan and playing major festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury and headlining Mexico’s Corona Capital. Smashing Pumpkins Announce ‘World Is a Vampire’ Summer Amphitheater Tour

The Smashing Pumpkins are going on a summer tour this year. On Tuesday, the Billy Corgan-fronted group announced their 26-stop “World Is a Vampire” tour — and they’re bringing some awesome bands on the road with them.

Interpol , Stone Temple Pilots, and Rival Sons will join the group for select dates on the road as they head across the country, performing in cities such as Dallas, Irvine, Tampa, Toronto, and Charlotte. The tour will arrive after the group releases the final act of their three-part album ATUM on May 5.

“I grew up in a world where I needed to know bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Cure existed, it meant there was a place for people like me to hang out and belong. That’s what The World Is A Vampire is about,” Corgan said in a press release. “Bringing back that sense of community. If you don’t fit in, you belong here. It’s about having a shared experience and respecting others, but ultimately having fun.”

Presale tickets go on sale Tuesday at 12 p.m. local time, while general on-sale tickets start Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

The group celebrated the new tour dates Tuesday by releasing their song “Spellbinding,” after dropping the first two acts of ATUM earlier this year, featuring songs such as “Beyond the Vale” and “Beguiled.”

The Smashing Pumpkins have just unveiled an extensive 2023 headline tour.

Entitled The World Is A Vampire, the 26-date run will see Billy Corgan and co. hit the road with Interpol, Stone Temple Pilots and Rival Sons at various dates, with tickets going on sale at 10am local time on Friday, March 31.

“I grew up in a world where I needed to know bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure existed, it meant there was a place for people like me to hang out and belong,” says Billy of the tour. “That’s what The World Is A Vampire is about. Bringing back that sense of community. If you don’t fit in, you belong here. It’s about having a shared experience and respecting others, but ultimately having fun. To coincide with the tour announcement, Pumpkins have also confirmed the final act of their trilogy album Atum, due out on May 5, and they’ll be dropping new single Spellbinding this Friday.

Last fall, The Smashing Pumpkins’ show at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles was amplified by a surprise appearance from Willow Smith , who joined them for a rendition of “Cherub Rock.” This year, the Billy Corgan-fronted band embarked on their The World Is A Vampire Tour . He continued, “If you don’t fit in, you belong here. It’s about having a shared experience and respecting others, but ultimately having fun. A true alternative festival, where all the self-proclaimed weirdos and outsiders of the world can get together and have a party.”

The World Is A Vampire Tour kicked off with two shows at The Chelsea At The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas on July 28 and July 30 before hitting Salt Lake City, Utah on August 1. The next scheduled show is for Thursday, August 3, at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. See all the remaining North American dates here .

Alternative rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins are recognized for their amalgam of progressive rock, heavy metal, goth, psychedelia, and dream pop; a layered, powerful style driven by swirling, distorted guitars that churned beneath lead singer/songwriter Billy Corgan's angst-ridden lyrics. One of the most visible bands of '90s, alongside grunge acts like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins achieved mainstream success over the decade with classic releases "Siamese Dream" and "Mellon Collie" and the "Infinite Sadness".

The Smashing Pumpkins to perform this summer at Battery Park in Sioux City

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City says The Smashing Pumpkins will perform at Battery Park this summer on Sunday, Aug. 18.

The Hard Rock says The Smashing Pumpkins is bringing its “The World is a Vampire Tour” to Sioux City and will be the second act in Hard Rock’s Summer Concert Series. They’ll be joined by special guests PVRIS.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 24 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at hardrockcasinosiouxcity.com or in person at the Rock Shop. All events in Battery Park are open to all ages.

The Smashing Pumpkins is an alternative rock band formed in Chicago in 1988. The group has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has two GRAMMY® Awards, two MTV VMAs and an American Music Award. Rolling Stone cited both their “Siamese Dream” and “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” albums among its “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” You can learn more about the band here.

The band’s special guest, PVRIS, is the creative project of Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, aka Lynn Gunn. She is a vocalist/instrumentalist/songwriter and PVRIS is her creative project that focuses on artistry, emotional resonance and story-telling in her music. You can learn about PVRIS here.

Smashing Pumpkins are bringing their “The World is a Vampire Festival” to Australia in April.

The band will stage the festival — featuring Jane’s Addiction, Amyl And The Sniffers, RedHook, Battlesnake, and local acts — in 10 Australian cities over the course of the month. Along with music, each date feature professional wrestling matches between Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan’s NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and the WAOA (Wrestling Alliance Of Australia). Prior to heading to Australia, Smashing Pumpkins will bring “The World is a Vampire” to Mexico on March 4th . They’ll be joined by Interpol, Turnstile, Peter Hook & The Light, Deafheaven, and more. They’ll also appear at this year’s BottleRock Festival in Napa Valley, California.

The tour dates come in support of Smashing Pumpkins’ new three-part rock opera, ATUM .

Following a simple social media post, 10,000-plus applicants submitted applications for consideration to join the band on tour. Frontman Billy Corgan reviewed the submissions and whittled down the pool of entrants who proceeded to audition in person for the touring guitarist spot last month in Los Angeles.

Now, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS officially welcome highly skilled veteran instrumentalist Kiki Wong as their additional touring guitarist. Kiki joins the band's tour lineup along with mainstays Jack Bates (bass) and Katie Cole (guitar, keys, vocals).

"Reviewing the work of these incredible musicians was a herculean, albeit worthy effort," said Corgan .

"First off, I really want to thank everyone who submitted materials for consideration. It wasn't an easy decision with how much great guitar playing we were lucky enough to hear and see over the past few months.

"I was a fan of Kiki 's before she submitted her name to be considered — and it's great that someone of her acumen will be part of our touring family. I can't wait to hit the road with Kiki as part of our mad circus.

"It's definitely an exciting moment for THE SMASHING PUMPKINS to be this busy with touring in 2024. We'll see you all this summer!"

Wong hails from Los Angeles, California. Moreover, she has been a musician almost all her life and has performed with Taylor Swift , Usher , Bret Michaels and more, along with notable rock bands including NYLON PINK , HELLFIRE HEART and currently VIGIL OF WAR . A lifelong fan of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS , the stars have most definitely aligned for Kiki .

"It's been an absolute wild ride, but I am beyond honored and humbled to be chosen to perform alongside some of rock's greatest and most influential musicians of all time," said Wong . In addition to a combination of arena and headliner festival dates in Europe and North American stadium performances with GREEN DAY , as part of "The Saviors Tour" , THE SMASHING PUMPKINS recently added additional solo arena bookings that span July through September. This new run of dates kicks off on July 31 in Muskoka, Ontario at Kee to Bala, rolls through markets such as Kansas City, Cedar Rapids, St. Louis, and concludes on September 27 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Fountainbleu. Plus, they will close out Osheaga festival as one of the headlining acts in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on August 3.

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS continue firing on all cylinders live. During 2023, they headlined and curated their very own "The World Is A Vampire" tour joined by STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and RIVAL SONS , while 2022 saw them canvas North America on the "Spirits On Fire" tour alongside JANE'S ADDICTION . A spectacle of eye-catching stage production and a setlist sequenced like a film with moments of heavy guitar catharsis and transcendent melodic singalongs, their shows have consistently incited widespread critical applause. NME professed, "it's indisputable that the band are responsible for many of the '90s' best rock songs, and this is as good as you're going to hear them." Slipknot celebrates 25 years by bringing Knotfest back to Des Moines

Des Moines-bred heavy metal band Slipknot returns to their hometown in September to celebrate 25 years since their debut album with the return of Knotfest . The heavy metal festival tours the world, last playing in central Iowa in 2021.

The band, founded in Des Moines in 1995, released their self-titled album “Slipknot” in 1999, and world came to know the band’s image filled with masks, chaotic shows and aggressive music style.

Who’s playing Knotfest?

The 2024 lineup includes the hometown return of Slipknot, the festival’s headliner and founders. The band plays a set that draws from their 1999 debut album “Slipknot.”

The lineup also includes Till Lindemann from Rammstein, hardcore/metal forerunners Knocked Loose , metalcore influencers Hatebreed and Poison The Well , heavy metal icons GWAR , Des Moines natives Vended , in addition to Dying Wish , Zulu, Twin Temple, Holy Wars, Swollen Teeth and Spine & Dose.

Knotfest Iowa 2024 takes place on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Water Works Park, 2201 George Flagg Pkwy., Des Moines. Slipknot played Water Works Park in 2000 on the “Tattoo the Earth” tour.

Knotfest Iowa brings a revamped Knotfest Museum to celebrate Slipknot’s 25-year career. A staple at Knotfests all over the world features a collection of artifacts from the band’s history.

Who is Slipknot?

Percussionist Shawn Crahan, former vocalist Anders Colsefni and bassist Paul Gray created Slipknot in 1995 in Des Moines.

Crahan came up with the idea of wearing a mask when he brought a clown mask with him the rehearsals. Now he’s known as “The Clown.”

By 1997, the band decided that everyone would wear a mask and a matching jumpsuit.

The band's seventh studio album, "The End, So Far," came out in September 2022.

Corey Taylor, who was born in Des Moines, joined Slipknot in 1997 as the lead singer.

Des Moines-based nu metal band Vended features two members who are sons of members of Slipknot. Singer Griffin Taylor is the son of Corey Taylor, and drummer Simon Crahan is the son of Shawn “Clown” Crahan.
