The new UAE visa rules that came into effect on October 3 allow holidaymakers to stay for 60 days at a time.

The decision to make all entry visas valid for 60 days from the date of issue ― double the previous allowance ― is one of a series of visa changes that were approved by the Cabinet in April.

Previously, there was no specific visa for tourists and those wishing to visit the UAE applied for 30-day, 60-day or 90-day visit visas.

The one, two and three-month entry permits are still available on a new visa, but mainly for people wishing to visit friends or relatives in the country, which requires documentary evidence proving the relationship and reasons for the visit.

All entry visas are available for single or multiple entry and can be renewed for a further 60 days.

Roshan Davis, manager of Golden Talent Tourism Agency in Dubai, said the change has made it easier for tourists to spend extended time in the country exploring and enjoying everything it has to offer.

“We have received more than 50 tourist visa applications from customers in the past four days,” he said.

Who is the tourist visa for?

Those who do not qualify for a visa on arrival or visa-free entry to the UAE can apply for a tourist visa.

Citizens from 69 countries and states are eligible for a visa on arrival in the UAE . Females below the age of 18 are not eligible to apply for a tourist visa unless they are travelling with their parents.

How can I apply for a tourist visa?

Visitors from countries that do not have a visa-on-arrival arrangement with the UAE can apply for their visas in advance through a travel agency or through the airline with which they are travelling.

How much does the tourist visa cost?

Mr Davis said they charge between Dh550 and Dh600 for 60-day visas and between Dh350 and Dh750 for one, two and three-month visa requests for visiting relatives.

A 60-day single entry visa with Etihad Airways costs Dh650, while a similar visa from Emirates airline costs Dh697 ($190). Both airlines offer a shorter, 30-day visa priced at Dh350 for Etihad and Dh330 ($90) for Emirates.

The Ultimate Guide to the 60-Day UAE Visit Visa

Are you eager to experience the vibrant cities, stunning deserts, and rich culture of the United Arab Emirates for an extended period? If a standard 30-day visa won’t cut it, the 60-day visit visa might be the perfect solution. However, understanding the associated costs is crucial for budgeting your dream trip. Let’s break this down.

Important Note: Please remember that visa costs and regulations can change from time to time. Always check the official websites of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai or the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) for the most up-to-date information.

What is the UAE 60-Day Visit Visa?

This visa allows you to stay in the UAE for up to 60 consecutive days. It’s a popular choice for tourists who want extra time to explore, visitors attending extended business meetings, or those seeking medical treatments. Unlike the 30-day visa on arrival (which is free for many nationalities), the 60-day visa requires application and payment before your trip.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of your 60-day UAE visit visa depends on several factors, including:

  • Your Nationality:  Each country has different visa arrangements with the UAE, affecting pricing.
  • Application Method:  Applying through a travel agency, airline, or hotel in the UAE versus applying online yourself usually influences the price.
  • Urgency:  Express processing options will naturally cost more.

Price Variations: Let’s Look at Some Examples

To give you a better idea, here’s a snapshot of 60-day UAE visa costs for a few selected nationalities:

  • India:  Approximately AED 600 – AED 750
  • Pakistan:  Approximately AED 650 – AED 800
  • USA:  Approximately AED 700 – AED 900
  • UK:  Approximately AED 750 – AED 950
  • Philippines:  Approximately AED 650 – AED800

Important Note: These are just estimates. For your specific nationality and the latest pricing, it’s best to check with an authorized travel agency or refer to the official GDRFA or ICP websites.

How to Apply for the 60-Day UAE Visit Visa

There are generally three ways to apply:

  • Through a UAE-based sponsor:  This could be a travel agency, airline, or hotel. They handle the process for you, often for an additional service fee.
  • Directly online:  Many countries can apply through the official GDRFA or ICP websites.
  • Through your country’s UAE embassy or consulate:  This may be required for certain nationalities.

The Application Process – What to Expect

The exact process varies slightly depending on your chosen method, but here’s a general overview:

  • Passport copy (valid for at least 6 months)
  • Passport-sized photo
  • Proof of travel (flight bookings)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking, or invitation letter if staying with a sponsor)
  • Travel health insurance
  • Fill out the Application:  Online or paper form depending on your method.
  • Pay the fee:  This can usually be done online or through your chosen sponsor.
  • Wait for Processing:  Standard processing times vary but try to apply at least a few weeks before travel.

Tips for a Smooth Application

  • Double-check Requirements:  Requirements can vary slightly based on your nationality, so confirm specific needs beforehand.
  • Consider a Sponsor:  For a hassle-free experience, using a UAE-based sponsor can save you time and confusion.
  • Factor in Time:  Avoid last-minute stress. Allow ample time for processing, especially if it’s peak travel season.

FAQs – Answering Your Top Questions

1. Can I extend my 60-day visit visa?

Yes, in most cases, it can be extended once for an additional 30 days. You’ll need to apply for the extension and pay the applicable fees.

2. Does the 60-day visa allow multiple entries?

Usually, this is a single-entry visa. If you plan to leave the UAE and return during your stay, you’ll need to apply for a multiple-entry visa instead.

3. Are there any cheaper alternatives to the 60-day visa?

If your plans are flexible, consider splitting your trip into two shorter visits using a standard 30-day visa on arrival (if your nationality qualifies). Also, look for flight deals with layovers in some cities like Istanbul, as those may work out more economically, particularly if you want to combine visiting a few destinations.

The 60-day UAE visit visa opens doors to a fulfilling and extended exploration of this fascinating country. While ensuring the cost fits within your budget is essential, don’t let that detract from the excitement of planning your trip! By understanding the factors that affect the price and following this guide, you’ll be well-equipped to secure your visa and start your Arabian adventure.

How Much is 60 Days Visit Visa for UAE Price?

The previous UAE visas issued by the UAE immigration had a standard stay duration of only 30 days. As per the announcement released on Monday, this period will be doubled to 60 days with effect from September 2022. Any new arrivals from this date onwards will be able to stay for a total duration of 60 days. This is one of the many visa reforms that the UAE government plans to implement so that holiday makers can make use of the extra time. This also proves beneficial for prospective residents to arrange their residency or employment visas without the fear of being fined for overstaying. Although Job seekers can visit with a separate kind of visa called the job exploration entry visa, they can also use this visa to understand the UAE work environment, the economy, job market and amenities available.

If you constantly keep wondering why UAE extended their minimum stay duration to 60 days, the answer is very simple. The UAE has always tried to make visa procedures easy for holiday makers and residents. The reason for this move is to give more time for

  • Holiday makers to explore the country.
  • Prospective residents to experience the quality of life, job market and experiences before finalizing their move.
  • Provide job seekers with a longer time frame to apply for their employment or residence visa.

You will need the following documents to process your 60 days UAE visit visa:

  • A clear scan copy of the applicant's valid passport-the passport must have at least 6 months validity
  • A clear photograph- refrain from submitting any unclear photos or photos with any part of the face covered.

The validity period of a 60 days UAE visa is 60 days from the date of issue. The holder has to enter the UAE within these 60 days or else they will have to apply for a new one.Counting from the date of entry, the holder is allowed a stay of 60 days in the UAE. This visa is only a single entry visa.

Would you like to know how much a UAE 60 days visit visa costs because you are planning to stay in the UAE with a 60 days UAE visa? The price hasn't been revealed yet, we will update it here as soon as it's launched in September 2022.

Until then, you can read about the 5 types of existing UAE visa arrangements.

5 Types of Visa Arrangements

Five types of visa arrangements can be made to get 60 days to visit in UAE. You can choose with arrangement depending on your passport.

You can get 90 Days on arrival which will allow you to stay for 60 days in UAE if you are a passport holder from the following countries; Argentina, Austria, Bahamas Islands, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, etc.,

You will get your passport stamped at the immigration office for 90 days. You don’t need to pre-arrange. You will require presenting your passport at the point of entry in UAE and get the visa.

If you are a passport holder of any of the following countries, you can get 30 Days on arrival, which comes with an option of extending another 30 days and thus having the 60 days stay.

The countries are; Andorra, Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, and China.

180 Days on-arrival

You can get the 180 days visa on arrival if you're a Mexican passport holder and stay for 60 days in UAE. Even though you will not have completed the 180 days, you will exit the country hassle-free.

Indians with a Green card or USA/Europe visit visa qualify for the 14 days on arrival visa, but you can stay for 60 days in UAE.

You can enter UAE using the 14 days arrival visa but change your visa without exiting the country and get 3 months visa which will allow you to stay for 60 days in UAE.

Pre-Arranged

If you plan to visit UAE for 60 days, but you are not a passport holder of the countries mentioned above, you arrange for 90 days or 3 months visit visa.

You choose the visa services processing time based on why you travel to UAE and when you need it.

Regular Service

The standard time to process a visa under this service is 24 - 72 business hours.

Express Service

Those who have to travel urgently or have unplanned travel on the cards can apply for Express service. The time taken to process a visa under this service is 8-9 business hours.

Fines for Overstaying & Grace Period

How Much is 60 Days Visit Visa for UAE Price?

It is important to understand overstaying fine & grace period for each category of UAE visa. If you qualify for the 90 days visa on arrival, you can stay for 90 days and 10 days grace period. You cannot extend your stay by changing your visa or exiting the country. But if you plan to stay days, they are more than enough. On-arrival and pre-paid nationals with a 30-day visa have a 10-day grace period after which they are required to either change their visa status or leave the country and reenter it to be granted another 30-day stay in the UAE.

The grace period does not apply to people who are citizens of the European nations that were listed earlier.

If the person overstays beyond the grace period, he will be subject to a fine of 100 AED per day for the second day onwards and a total of 200 AED for the first day of overstaying after the grace period has passed. You will be required to pay a service fee of one hundred AED at the time of departure. You would be subject to a fine of 100 AED per day that you overstay your visa if you choose to extend your stay within the nation by going with a visa that did not require you to leave the country.

And above citizens are eligible for a pre-paid visa extension once they have exhausted their 90-day visa on arrival, which is good for a total of 6 months.

Oman Visa Run Visa Change, also referred to as border run or border hop, is where you, to have a visa change, are required to exit the country and enter again. Here you get to exit UAE to Oman and reenter and get a new visa.

For a visit visa to the UAE, you must cross the border after the initial 30 days to access the country for an additional 30 days.

This approach is quite suitable for visitors to the UAE with an on-arrival visa who want to prolong their stay by applying for a new visa.

If you are planning to stay in UAE for a long time, the best option is to change your visit visa to a residence visa to extend your stay for a longer period. If you are a national of the United States who is entering the country on a pre-paid or on-arrival visa and your visit visa is about to expire, you can either extend it or convert it into a residence visa.

Although job searchers may travel with a different sort of visa known as the job exploration entrance visa, they can still utilise this visa to understand the UAE’s working environment, economy, job market, and facilities that are accessible.

Residents, tourists and job-seekers are among those who will benefit as the UAE rolled out its largest set of residence visa and entry reforms. The Advanced Visa System was implemented on October 4.

According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), the new scheme includes more than 15 types of visas, such as those for tourists, job-seekers, Golden and Green residencies and entry permits for truck drivers through land ports.

This guide explains the different visas, what has changed, targeted categories and approximate cost (fees have been calculated as per information available on the ICP and GDRFA websites; and inputs from typing centre agents and experts. They may vary.)

It means that your paper-based visa (one that is not stamped in the passport) has been inspected and validated, and that airline check-in staff can issue you a boarding pass and allow you to board the flight.
