Legendary rock band The Who have announced their first European dates in seven years. The shows will see the band performing with a full orchestra each night. The iconic band’s upcoming European tour will feature the band bringing their orchestral rock show to Berlin, Paris, Florence and Barcelona for the first time.

Pete Townshend , Roger Daltrey and band will be performing music from throughout the band’s nearly 60-year career, including sections devoted to classic albums Tommy and Quadrophenia as well as other beloved Who tracks and songs from their 2019 WHO album, their first studio release in 13 years.

The 2023 European shows follow this year’s highly acclaimed The Who Hits Back! tour of Canada and the US, where the band shared the stage  with some of the finest orchestras in North America.

The 2023 European tour will feature THE WHO’s full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend , keyboardist Loren Gold , second keyboardist Emily Marshall , bassist Jon Button , drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls , along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson , lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey Snyder .

Commenting on playing in Europe for the first time in almost a decade, Pete Townshend said, “It is wonderful that we can return to Europe after so long away, to play Berlin, Paris, Florence and Barcelona, four of my favourite cities in the world. We look forward to bringing our grand orchestral show which has received such great reviews so far and play some old-fashioned Who-style rock ’n’ roll songs from our back catalogue as well. We mix it all up in the most amazing evening of music: I have to say that this show is one that I personally enjoy as much as anything I have ever done in the 60 years I’ve been working with Roger. I so look forward to visiting these beautiful cities to see our old fans, and I hope we meet some new ones. We are so lucky to be able to spend an evening with you all.”

The Who wound up their The Who Hits Back! tour of the US in November this year, having wowed audiences in over thirty cities, with media and fans agreeing that the band were as good as, if not better than ever and that the orchestral arrangements, most of which were done by the legendary David Campbell , brought a new depth and excitement to Pete Townshend’s music.

' src=

Why ask to the Who to come to UK for a Tour? You should know that The Who is a English band and it will be in UK that their last dates will be take place. Maybe for a Summer festival this year or in 2023 ou 2024. Less probably in Netherlands, Germany or Scandinavia. But I really don’t know actually. If you love the Who you Can Come in Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, or Firenze especially if you live in Germany, Netherlands, Scandinavia whatever.

' src=

Rotterdam/Amsterdam Calling!!

' src=

Great to see the Who in Berlin. I always thought Waldbühne would be a great place for the best band in the world, Already got Tickets. Good to combine the trip from Stuttgart to Berlin to see my daughter in Berlin. Looking forward to the show. Hope that the venue will be packed

' src=

Kommen The Who auch mal, nach Österreich? Vielleicht nach Graz? Würde mich freuen, wenn Pete, Roger und Band mal, in die Steirische Landeshauptstadt kommen könnten! Bis jetzt waren The Who nur in Wien.

Translation: Will The Who ever come to Austria? Maybe to Graz? I would be happy if Pete, Roger and the band could come to the Styrian capital! Until now, The Who have only been in Vienna.

' src=

I guess I missed the North American dates? 🙁 would love to see you guys live, idk if I will ever get the chance… love The Who though!!!

' src=

Nederland kan ook! Amsterdam is een idee! Of België of Oberhausen.

' src=

Gents, In the past, early seventies en late sixties, you toured with a Dutch band, Golden Earring in the USA. Earring stopped in 2021 because of a serious illness (ALS) of George Kooymans. I thought that Pete and Roger might be interested in this information.

Peter Stiekema, Whofan since 1965. Hope to see you in London.

' src=

Still waiting to see you at Manchester Arena, what’s happened since 2021?

All 2021 UK tour dates were cancelled due to the pandemic and tickets refunded.

' src=

Any chance of any extra dates in Europe?

' src=

No Netherland? 🙁

' src=

BERLIN What a wonderful show and beautiful venue. Tears of joy and sadness – probably also a farewell.

EXTREME 's new album, "Six" , is due out June 9 via earMUSIC .

The band — Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt , Pat Badger (bass) and Kevin Figueiredo (drums) — will bring "Six" 's music to audiences across the globe on the "Thicker Than Blood" tour. The trek will see the band visit North America from August 2 to August 29 and Australia from September 6 to September 13, where they will be joined by special guests LIVING COLOUR . EXTREME will also continue to bring the "Thicker Than Blood" tour to audiences in Japan from September 17 to September 26.

On "Six" , EXTREME swings between unapologetic fits of fret-burning hard rock and intimately introspective balladry. For the recording of the Bettencourt -produced 12-track album, the members buckled down at his home studio in Los Angeles to channel the electrifying eclecticism that defined their seminal output with a 21st century twist.

This dynamic affirms the iconic Boston quartet as one of rock's most unpredictable, undeniable, and unbreakable groups whose songs course through the very fabric of popular culture. They're the rare band whose music has appeared in an actual cult series a la "Bill & Ted" as well as the Netflix juggernaut "Stranger Things" . They've sold 10 million records, topped the Billboard Hot 100, packed major venues on multiple continents, memorably performed at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in London, and regularly average over five million monthly listeners on Spotify . However, their dynamic approach hits harder than ever on "Six" .

The stage was impressive as were the band. Sounding like they had just released their first album, Europe rocked through the entire concert. No support act and a show so awesome it needed an intermission, we rocked, sang and danced with Joe and the boys through all the old hits and the best of the new. The energy of the guys was astounding, each having their own moment to shine. The drum solo was a stand out. It was a well crafted set list, with the big anthems and softer ballads, blended to remind us that Europe has been part of the soundtrack of our lives. A concert that left us grinning and singing on the night and for days afterwards.

always a pleasure to see this guys in action! as a very old fan form the 80's, i loved the band from the beginning...so much fun and some tears too...very emocional and the set list was amazing too. tunes from every period of their career, from the oldest to new ones, of course focusing on the last álbum, War Of Kings. the sound of the venue was amazing, with a stage lights doing a very special show too.

For the first time in nearly five years, the Dave Matthews Band will return to Europe for a fully-fledged tour. The newly shared dates are slated to begin on April 2, when the ensemble takes the stage at Afas Live in Amsterdam, followed by a tight run of additional stops, intermixed with a pair of London appearances at the famed Royal Albert Hall.

After the initial tour date, Dave Matthews Band will take part in two stops in Germany before a jaunt up to Oslo, where they will play on April 7. While in the region, the jammers will also participate in concerts in Stockholm and Copenhagen before turning up in Poland on April 14. Continuing the run, they’ll take up dates in Berlin and Prague before a trio of Italian stops.

As mentioned, the band will jump over to London on April 24 and 25 for two gigs, in addition to an ensuing occasion at 3 Arena in Dublin. Afterward, they’ll pick up a gig at O2 Apollo in Manchester, a sprinkling of added European appearances in Brussels and Paris, as well as a tour finale on May 5 at Altice Arena in Lisbon.

The newly announced European tour dates will arrive after the annual Dave & Tim destination concert vacation in Mexico. Learn more . Tickets for DMB’s European tour dates go on sale to the general public this Friday, Sept. 22. For more information, visit the band’s official website .

Disturbed Announce 2023 European Tour Dates + Reveal Supporting Bands

Earlier this month, Loudwire included Disturbed ’s 2023 appearances at the U.K.’s Download Festival (in June) and Ohio’s Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival (in July) as part of our 2023 Rock + Metal Music Festival Guide . Recently, the band announced some new and exciting European summer tour dates, as well as a glimpse into which bands will be supporting them.

As confirmed on their official website , the Take Back Your Life Tour – named after the eighth song on 2022’s Divisive record – will kick off on Jun. 7 in Austria. The following few days, they’re set to play Download Festival; after that – and through the end of June – they’ll stop by Germany, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Finally, they’ll conclude June with a concert in Israel.

While they haven’t revealed supporting acts for every show, they have confirmed that British rock troupe Asking Alexandria will open for them in Germany on Jun. 12. Likewise, American post-hardcore/nu-metal quintet I Prevail will open for them in Luxembourg on Jun. 19. (Presumably, they’ll be focusing on their latest studio albums, 2021’s See What’s on the Inside and 2022’s True Power , respectively.)

Going back to  Divisive , it was Disturbed’s eighth original LP and their first since 2018’s Evolution . In an October 2020 interview with Loudwire Nights , frontman David Draiman described it as “blisteringly angry.” Interestingly, it featured a guest appearance from Heart vocalist Ann Wilson on “ Don’t Tell Me ,” which Draiman understandably  cited as  “one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

Critically and commercially, Divisive  fared well, too. For instance, it earned praise from publications such as Blabbermouth and Metal Hammer , and it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

Tickets for the Take Back Your Life Tour can be purchased here , and you can check out the full list of tour dates below.

Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band European tour: Thrills, spills and star power

bands european tour 2023

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band have conquered Europe — and there's more to come.

Band members are heading home for a short break after 12 shows into the band's European stadium tour.

The reviews are glowing.

“This is a show to live long in the memory,” said the Independent of Ireland after the band's May 7 concert at the RDS Arena in Dublin.

Yet, there have been a few moments of notoriety over the run that make this tour, the pedestrianly named “2023 Tour,” one that will be discussed for a long time after the final encore.

The tour resumes June 11 in the Netherlands and comes back the States starting with Aug. 9 and 11 at Wrigley field in Chicago. The big ones for Jersey fans are Aug. 30, Sept, 1 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Here's a look at highlights, and some diversions, of the just completed first half of the European run.

First Lady at first show

The reviews are in, former First Lady Michelle Obama was a hit at the April 28 show at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. Obama, actress Kate Capshaw and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa joined the Boss and the band during the “Glory Days.”

Obama had a tambourine and it wasn't just for show.

“How cool is my wife!' said former President Barack Obama at the show, as captured on Michelle's Instagram.

Springsteen visits family roots in Ireland

The Boss connected with his Irish ancestors in County Kildare in Ireland as the E Street Band played three shows, May 5, 7 and 9, at the RDS Arena in Dublin.

The Boss' kin on his father's side came from Kildare in the mid 1800s. Springsteen made a surprise visit to the Creative Performance Academy in Kildare and sang an a cappella version of his 1984 hit “My Hometown” with the ladies at a local pub in Kildare on May 4.

“You guys, I’m firing the E Street Band and I’m hiring you,” said Springsteen to laughter.

Prior to his Kildare jaunt, Springsteen visited Shane MacGowan of the Pogues in his Dublin home. MacGowan, who has used a wheelchair since breaking his pelvis in 2015, is suffering from encephalitis.

Tragedy in Italy

The show must go on is a revered show business adage.

Yet, many questioned if the Springsteen and E Street Band show May 18 in Ferrara, Italy, should have proceeded as the venue was about 30 miles from the Emilia-Romagna area in northern Italy, where rains, flooding and mudslides killed more than a dozen people.

Some were disappointed the show went on and some fans were disappointed that there was no reference to the situation during the show. Springsteen has a long history of connecting his shows with the plights of those around the world. During an August 2016 concert t MetLife Stadium, he dedicated “My City of Ruins” to the victims of the recent earthquake in the Apennines Mountains of central Italy.

Guitarist Steven Van Zandt said on Twitter a week after the show the band was not aware of the situation in Emilia-Romagna.

“We didn’t know a thing about it,” said Van Zandt on Twitter. “All we heard was the crew had to work overtime because the venue was one big mud hole from the rain. That was all.”

Boss falls in Amsterdam

Springsteen has climbed, slid, crowd surfed, danced and jumped off pianos in concert over the years.

On May 27 at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, he tripped and fell during “Ghosts.” The 73-year old Boss didn't stay on the ground for long.

“Goodnight everybody!” Springsteen joked.

He was helped up by stage hands and guitarist Nils Lofgren and continued the show.

The tour's multi-level staging does seem to have its share of stairs, which Springsteen climbs nightly.

“With stairs like that, baby we were born to fall,” commented a fan.

E Street Band pre-concert warm up

What do the members of the E Street Band do to get ready for the show?

They apparently dance like Morris Day and the Time. E Street Band percussionist Anthony Almonte shared a video of him, guitarist Nils Lofgren, singer Curtis King and a fourth person dancing like Day and the Time to the Boss' “Ramrod” backstage earlier this week.

“We’re stepping up the Pre-Show Show, with our guest being the one and only Nils Lofgren!!” Almonte said. “Giving you a bit of The Time moves to Ramrod! Rock on y’all!”

Lofgren, who's been known to tap dance during his solo shows, also shared the vid.

Starpower in Europe

Stas and notables have flocked to the European shows.

That was especially true at the May 21 concert at the Circo Massimo in Rome where Woody Harrelson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Sting, Nick Cave, Lars Ulrich from Metallica, and Chris Rock attended.

“I just Met Chris Rock (heart emoji),” said Michelle Moore, member of the E Street Choir, on social media.

Rock posted a few snippets of the show to his Instagram story. One was Springsteen and Steven Van Zandt mugging it up or the camera on “Glory Days.” Another was a band shot during “Dancing in the Dark.”

If he wasn't a fan before the show, he's a fan now.

Dave Kline featured on new Rednex release as another of the band's tracks goes viral [Spotlight]

A pr. 28—Rednex, a Swedish band best known for its 1994 take on the traditional song "Cotton Eye Joe," which topped the charts in nearly a dozen European countries, recently released a new track called "Another Round" featuring lead vocals by Berks County native "East Side" Dave Kline.

The track is an upbeat party song with a music video depicting octogenarians getting barbarously drunk.

Kline recorded at Gangsta Beagle Studio, Mount Penn, and then sent the vocal track to Rednex producer Pat Reiniz, a founding member of the band who performed as Mup in its early days, who created the final track.

Rednex, whose sound mixes traditional American folk music with Eurodance, boasts an ever-evolving roster of musicians who embrace stereotypical American redneck personas.

Kline was recruited to record with Rednex by Reiniz, who first connected by email. Kline said it was hard to believe the inquiry was legitimate. As a frequent traveler to Europe, he has been a three-decade-long fan of the group's music.

It all seemed surreal until Reiniz invited Kline to call him in Thailand, which Kline did. After an engaging conversation, the deal was made and Kline began recording for Rednex soon thereafter.

The release of "Another Round" coincides with other, bigger Rednex news, as new cover versions of "Cotton Eye Joe," called "Gedagedigedagedago," have become a viral streaming sensation. The new versions insert the nonsense word "Gedagedigedagedago" for the song's opening lyric.

The sensation was triggered by the Danish singer Razi Irawani, whose 2023 video cover of "Cotton Eye Joe" recently resurged on YouTube following a remix in which a chicken nugget and wing sing the song. That video garnered 23 million views, and now the phenomenon has exploded into millions of meme-filled versions, including 450 videos on YouTube with more than 1 million views each.

All together, they attained a record 3 billion views in just 28 days. According to Rednex, the count is 20 times as high as the top music video on YouTube, 12 times greater than the leading hit on Spotify, and twice as high as the most viewed artist in the world, Alka Yagnik.

"A paradigm shift is happening where we're asking: How is music success best measured?," Reiniz said in a press release. "This event was created thanks to millions of video creators generating billions of fragmented plays of Rednex's music, as opposed to the traditional way of listening. It will be a challenge for the music industry to reflect these various counts into charts and measurements and even leads to the question of: 'Is the basic use and concept of music itself changing?"

The official video for the new Rednex track, "Another Round," has been streamed more than 44,000 times on YouTube since being posted two weeks ago.

With its sample-friendly catchphrases and copycat videos already being created and circulated, Rednex is hoping it develops into another viral streamer.

Imagine Dragons’ sixth studio album LOOM represents the pinnacle of their artistic journey of self-discovery and marks the best body of work they’ve ever made. LOOM , produced entirely by Imagine Dragons and their longtime collaborators Mattman and Robin, finds the perfect balance between the classic sounds that have made them superstars and the freshness that brought them joy in the studio. Featuring 9 brand new tracks including hit single “Eyes Closed”, LOOM signifies new beginnings on the horizon – the excitement for a new day, moments yet to come.

Last year, the members of Imagine Dragons found themselves with a rare and well-deserved break from the road—perhaps their longest in many years. So, they made the most of it by devoting that time to family and friends. Catalyzed by this respite with a refreshed perspective, the band rallied together in the studio and mined the same well of inspiration that fed their most beloved material. The musicians reflected on the past in order to catapult into a future where stylistic boundaries have disappeared entirely and anything is possible creatively. This journey has brought them to their most dynamic and definitive body of work to date, LOOM .

To herald LOOM , the band recently shared their soaring new anthem entitled “Eyes Closed.” Check out the video HERE . The track illuminates their penchant for boundary-breaking. Stretching the limits of the soundscape almost to the breaking point, they harness a burst of energy with a rafter-reaching refrain primed to soar on the upcoming summer tour.

It’s the year of the Dragons …
