Best Time To Visit Bangalore

Winter season.

The months of October to February comprise the winter season for Bangalore, and although the temperature doesn’t drop down much, it does become a little colder for sure. The lowest recorded temperature during these months don’t fall below 10°C, requiring travelers to carry a light jacket with them during the evenings. The days are cool as well, thereby ensuring that there are no problems in enjoying a bout of sightseeing around the city, as part of your Bangalore sightseeing packages . Most tourists also take this time to visit other destinations near Bangalore for a more well-rounded vacation.

Summer Season

The summer season in Bangalore lasts from March to May, and whilst the weather stays pleasant enough towards the evening, the days can be a little too sunny for comfort. Sightseeing might become a hindrance, especially if you are planning to spend time at any of the gardens here. Even though the temperature doesn’t rise beyond 36°C, it is advisable to keep hydrated and use sunscreen when going out in the daytime.

Monsoon Season

The monsoon season in Bangalore is from June to September, when the city is given a whole new green makeover, post the rains. The rainy season starts with mild showers, later turning into thunderstorms as the season progresses. The months receiving the highest rainfall in Bangalore are August and September. Tourists do visit the city during this time as well, but the footfall is pretty low considering the rains might play spoilsport with any sightseeing plans. Don’t forget to pack an umbrella and a raincoat for uninterrupted enjoyment while out.

The acres of area that it covers and the number of clubs and restaurants that it houses beckons tourists to visit and explore the relics and ancient architecture confined within the walls. You can visit the Palace Grounds without an invitation. You are required to buy a ticket in case you wish to explore the specific palaces and ancient infrastructure. However, for the most part, palace grounds remain open to the public for indulgence in the history of Bangalore.

Is there a dress code to follow in Bangalore?

Due to the cultural diversity of the residents of Bangalore, the city remains pretty liberal. There are no particular dress codes to follow. Sports, dresses, trousers, jeans, shorts, sleeveless tops, and shirts, along with saris and kurtas, are all welcome attires to wear for both men and women. When you visit spiritual institutions, make sure to cover up in order not to hurt the sentiments of the people as well as to show respect towards the idols to whom the institution is dedicated. Other than that, Bangalore is a pretty open-minded city where fashion is thriving.

Why is Bangalore called the garden city?

The Silicon Valley of India is known for many things, including its thriving IT infrastructure, esteemed colleges for the best education, and dedicated healthcare system. But the best thing about Bangalore, which remains a hidden gem amid the metropolitan lifestyle, is the lush greenery and array of parks and gardens. The Lalbagh Garden is a popular tourist destination, especially during summer, where you can check out the flower show featuring indigenous flora. The garden itself extends for acres covered in banyan trees and sweet blossoms, and it even has a nook of a natural cave. It is a great place to spend some time on your honeymoon or with friends to have a picnic or run around on the grass in the shade of the numerous trees that line the boulevards within the garden. Aside from the Lalbagh garden, there are also some parks, such as Cubban Park, the park on the Ulsoor lakeside, and a street in Jayanagar dedicated to smaller parks on each side throughout the length of the road. Bangalore is a pretty green city, and the Lalbagh Garden, in particular, contributes to its naming the Garden City.

Which is the best restaurant for an authentic Bangalore experience?

The city of Bangalore welcomes and celebrates diverse cultures and people from different corners of the world, not just India. Therefore, you can be assured that you can find any cuisine in the city that you are craving. However, if you wish to indulge in an authentic experience of Bangalore food, two restaurant chains stand out. Adiga’s is the most popular purely vegetarian restaurant chain in Bangalore that serves different varieties of south Indian and Chinese food prepared with a touch of Karnataka's speciality. The second most popular is A2B’s. This restaurant serves not only South Indian, Chinese, and North Indian food with the Bangalore touch but also offers sweet dishes which are unique to the region. Additionally, if you wish to explore the Bangalore bakery experience, then try the Iyengar bakery franchise. The softest cakes, pastries, puffs, dry snacks, and other delicacies can only be found in the city of Bangalore.

Which is the best mode of transportation to travel in Bangalore?

Despite all its charm and beauty, Bangalore is also very popular for its traffic. If you choose to travel by bus or cab in particular, you may have a hard time reaching your destination in time. Fortunately, the Bangalore metro stations connect most of the major hubs of the city, thus making it the perfect mode of transportation to get around Bangalore. The Bangalore metro is an overhead track, and you can get from point A to point B fairly quickly. Even if you need to reach Majestic, which is the major bus depot from where you can catch buses to travel to the outskirts of Bangalore, the metro can get you there before you know it.
