Super Tour Guide, he was very nice and gave us lots of info about all sorts of things and place we saw. The tour itself was great with fun activities. The hostels were much better than expected (even the cheapest backpacker option was really nice) There are only 2 things that could in my opinion be improved. 1. It's very nice that our guide offered to drive us truly everywhere. But when you are being driven less than 100m from the lobby/restaurant of a hostel to your little hut ... Well at some point it just becomes too much and myself and a few others had to ask to be allowed to walk. 2. More "physically demanding" activities. As one naturally spends a lot of time sitting in the car driving from place to place it would be much better to have more action. (Yes we had Kanus and a hike on one day but the first was a short drive along an extremely calm river and the later more like a 30 min stroll on even terrain). Granted not everyone would like to do/want to participate in more exhausting activities but there are simple ways to get around that problem. (E.g. splitting up the group with some perusing a more leisurely activity while the others get a chance to spend some energy. This trip even had a good example of this when at Cape Aguhlas there was the option to ride a bike to the Cape or to follow 30min later by car)

The 4-day Garden Route Adventure tour with Benjamin as our operator is impressive and unforgettable. Benjamin is knowledgeable, professional, friendly and patient. He managed well to meet the additional requests by this group. In addition to the scheduled programs, this group did Knysna Elephant Park, Cango Wildlife Ranch visit, and Bloukrans Bungy. We stopped many times at scenery spots for picture taken. We have covered so much that every is happy with their requests. The whole tour started well with booking, communication, food and accommodation. Everything is excellent and I highly recommend this tour if you choose a short tour on Garden Route Adventure.

What a wonderful experience. So much packed in, in just a few days, but without feeling rushed. Mwande is a brilliant, knowledgable, trusted guide. Highly recommended. The whole experience also felt great value for money.

The service level of this tour was good in most aspects, and I especially enjoyed the input of and interaction with members of the guides team. Same with the route choice and the quality of food and accommodation. The one thing that Tourradar fell seriously short in was the choice of e-bikes. Although I had in advance indicated my length (1.95m) in the application, I was given a standard-size bike, and when complaining about the height of the handlebar I was told that there was no alternative. This seriously reduced the level of comfort when biking.

This was an awesome trip and great opportunity! My trip to South Africa was my first time going anywhere internationally. There’s so much to see and so much to do. 5 days wasn’t nearly enough, but I had a great time. I had very nice drivers and tour guides. Everything that I was able to experience from the tour of the winery to the tour of the safari to the shark diving was spectacular! But the best part was the natural attractions of the Cape Peninsula tour and Table Mountain! Matadi Tour Company had everything meticulously planned and I would definitely consider going through them to plan another tour for my next visit to the motherland!

Cycling in the Western Cape offers climbing (& descending) mountain passes, riding through semi-arid deserts and along windy coastal roads. Both the distances and level of difficulty vary day-to-day. Regardless each day starts early. Each day included some time in the van. There were times when cyclists and bikes were transferred in the truck when the roadway and shoulder looked invitingly cyclable. There also several times when the transfer backtracked over the route ridden the previous day. The quality of the accommodations varied from modern, clean and efficient to quirky and - in one case - dangerous. There was no access to laundry during the 10 days. The food options varied from sandwich picnics at the side of the road to white tablecloths. There was always water; there were snacks of fruit and sweets at breaks in the cycling journeys.

A wonderful trip with so much to see and do from day one to the end.  Apart from the wine tasting (which was at best bizarre) I couldn't fault the trip.   What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? Hermanus and the Southern Right Whales.  I really couldn't believe how close they came into shore and so many of them, although we still took the boat trip out which was well worth it as we had some stunning sightings. What did you think of your group leader? Piena was without a doubt the best tour leader we have ever had.  Somewhat lacking in a sense of direction, but this led to some really funny moments for the rest of us.  Extremely knowlegeable about all the places we visited and the things we saw and with a wonderful sense of humour - a great trip companion (in fact you should clone her so that every Exodus trip has a 'Piena' as a guide) Do you have any advice for potential travellers? The weather was very changeable so make sure you have something for all eventualities, and the evenings do get very chilly.  Do add on a few days post tour in Cape Town to give you time to see more of the sights.  We chose one day to do a Safari with a tour company called 'Mile by Mile' which was great value for money and well worth doing (Hippos, Rhinos, Lions, Zebra) and included breakfast and lunch at the game reserve.  Also the 'Red Bus' is great for seeing Cape Town and the near surrounding area. Is there anything else you would like to add? Book it ...... it's a fabulous experience.

Paul and Mark did a great job in covering a huge amount of ground across 5 days. From initial pick up, through Stellenbosch and Franshoek, and on to Knysner, there is a lot to see and the tour only scratches the surface of the Winelands and Garden Route, and you could do it many times and see different things each time. Paul ensured we got to see what we were interested in, even dropping in a late evening hippo watch ! The days can be long due to the distance but the hotels and guesthouses were clean and comfortable - food was good, and always ask for recommendations as Paul knows the area well !

Our mission is to create custom made memories and experiences for our guests, and to let them experience all the garden route, klein karoo and beyond has to offer., south cape expeditions is a tour operator service, where our guests come first. we strive to establish our guests' needs and desires, and to find the right activities for them to enhance their visit to south africa. as a tour operator service we are very fortunate to be based in one of the most beautiful parts of south africa. our base of operation is located in the city of george in the western cape, and george could be considered to be the heart of the beautiful garden route. george is located half way between cape town and port elizabeth which allows us to cover the garden route and klein karoo and find all the hidden little gems that other tour operators might race past. we cater for small groups or couples who are looking for that personal touch and flexibility to their vacation. we firmly believe that your vacation should belong to you, and that our guests should have a say in making unscheduled stops for photo opportunities along the way. we can offer a variety of services, including multi day tours, day excursions, and tour guide services as well as assisting with the planning of tours for independent travelers., about the owner.

I started my career in the tourism industry more than 20 years ago by turning my passion for SCUBA diving into my career. Taking people to experience the underwater beauty always brought me great joy. Being a SCUBA Instructor allowed me to spread my wings and to go and see what is beyond the horizon.

In 2003 i started to work for a well-known cruise company both on their line of cruise ships, as well as their private destinations. through my years in the cruise industry i moved across more into their shore excursions department, and i always enjoyed assisting guests in planning their vacations and what it is they wanted to experience in the ports of call. i also helped them with creating custom and private tours., in 2017 i returned to south africa, and decided that it was time to set down roots in my own beautiful country. now i use my knowledge and expertise to help plan tours for independent travelers, and to show guests south africa, the wonderful country i call home..
