Jedi Survivor New Journey + Everything you should know

This guide will cover everything that you get by starting a New Journey+ in Star Wars Jedi Survivor: what items and upgrades you get to keep and what new items you gain!

What is New Journey + and how to unlock it

Finishing a Star Wars game always brings a small sense of fulfillment. Whether because of its incredible story or the challenging gameplay. Many times we want to do another playthrough with options that make it more challenging.

This is what the New Journey+ in Jedi Survivor (or New Game+ as many of us know it) is for. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

After finishing the main story of Jedi Survivor, the New Journey+ option will be available on the menu screen. To play it, you have to pick an existing save where you have completed at least the main story of the game.

This will allow you to play through the game again with most of what you have unlocked and earned from your first playthrough.

What do you carry over into New Journey +

When you start this new adventure, the first thing that you’ll notice in the New Journey+ is that all of your unlocked cosmetics will carry over . Clothes, hairsttles and beards, lightsaber and blaster customizations, and BD-1 parts.

You will also have all skill points that you unlocked reset so you can spend them however you want.

There are some abilities that will be locked until you reach a certain point in the story. You might want to save some points for when more abilities are available.

At the start of New Journey + you will not have access to advanced abilities that Cal learns through the story such as Force Lift and Force Slam. You will also not be able to slide through the green shield barriers as this ability is earned on Jedha when Merrin gives you the relic.

All of these you will earn as you progress through the story of the game. Speaking of story, absolutely every collectible and map upgrade you have unlocked in your first run, will be disabled in New Journey +.

All chests will be open, all seeds you picked up for the garden will carry over and you will not get to pick them up a second time. All map upgrades you have unlocked will carry over as well.

You will keep all of the unlocked Perks. You will be able to replay each puzzle and Force Tear, but you will not be able to collect Stims , Health Upgrades and Force Upgrades . All of these essences will be disabled if you have picked them up during your first run.

Whatever items you have not completed or collected on your first run, they will still be available in New Journey +.

What is new and different in New Journey +

One of the best things about the New Journey+ is the addition of three new Perks. The first one is the Warrior Perk. This one is very simple, it replaces weak enemies with more powerful ones.

You will notice this right from the start. Standard Scout Troopers are replaced with Riot Troopers and Purge Troopers . If you want a more challenging experience, the Warrior perk combined with the next one are definitely for you. The Warrior perk is activated by default when you start New Journey +.

Purity is a perk that increases the damage output of all sources. Cal will two-shot almost any enemy but that goes both ways. This is the closest to a movie experience that you’ll get. Regardless of how big your health bar is, if Cal takes a few shots he is going to succumb.

I tried this perk and it is incredibly fun, a single mistake can prove to be fatal. Every time that an enemy is glowing red you will consider it twice before doing something reckless. This is probably the best way to practice and master your parrying, evading, and deflecting skills on the go.

The last Perk added to the New Journey+ is called Trendsetter. Unlike the other two, this doesn’t affect the difficulty of the gameplay. Every time you die, your appearance will be randomized: hair, beard, clothes, lightsaber, and even BD-1.

After being defeated three times, this is how I looked after each respawn. The game will choose only from the cosmetics you currently have. An interesting thing is that it looks like it tries to pick matching combinations for everything but the lightsaber. If you are into Jedi fashion, don’t worry about not looking good for the occasion.

The best thing about the Warrior, Purity, and Trendsetter perks is that none of them occupy a perk slot. You can equip them all at once and still use your three perk slots or more (if you have unlocked them).

In this image, you can see how I have equipped the Wisdom perk that uses three out of my three slots while still using the New Journey+ perks.

The Party Lightsaber option changes the color of your lightsaber with each attack that you do. It looks good but I would’ve preferred something else like getting the option to have one blue blade and a purple (or any other color). This is a good option if you love all lightsaber colors and can’t simply pick one.

My absolute favorite addition to the New Journey+ is the red lightsaber blade. I think it’s one of the most intimidating colors for any lightsaber wielder to use. Matching it with dark robes and a black lightsaber hilt is so satisfying.

The extra perks that change the difficulty and additional lightsaber blades don’t necessarily make it a completely new game but they definitely enhance the experience and prover a bigger challenge for those players that love getting pushed to the limits.

The first change you can make to Cal is right at the first Meditation Point. You can use all of the Skill Points and change Perks.

This concludes my guide to the New Journey+ in Jedi Survivor. You can take a look at the  Star Wars Jedi Survivor Guides Master List  for more.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor New Journey +: What carries over, new perks and unlocks

By matthew liebl | apr 29, 2023.

EA / Respawn

Have you already beaten the main story of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor? Ready for a new challenge? Like its 2019 predecessor, Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features a New Journey + option . This is the equivalent of a New Game Plus seen in other action-adventure games.

New Journey + is a way to continue your adventures as Cal Kestis. Once you complete your first playthrough, you’ll be able to access this new mode through the main menu. Doing so will create a separate save file so you won’t lose access to that initial playthrough if you ever want to go back.

Although New Journey + acts as a brand-new playthrough, restarting the story, you aren’t starting entirely from scratch. Not only does some of your progress from the main game — like skills and stances — carry over, but you’ll also unlock new perks.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: What carries over into New Journey +

When starting New Journey +, you’ll actually have access to quite a few things from your previous journey. All of your Lightsaber Stances will already be unlocked, and your Skill Points will be refunded, allowing you to spend them immediately, and possibly experiment with a new character build. This is a great way to replay the game while not having the feeling of starting entirely from scratch, which I know can be a turn-off for many players. Additionally, all of the cosmetics you’ve unlocked will also carry over , including your Lightsaber colors.

The only thing that’s really reset is Cal’s abilities. This is to prevent you from skipping entire sections of the game. You’ll also need to reach your first Meditation Point before you can actually change your Lightsaber Stance.

New Lightsaber Blades

Speaking of Lightsaber colors, you’ll actually get two new ones for starting New Journey +. For fans who have always desired to turn Cal into a Sith, you’ll get the chance with a Red Lightsaber blade. There’s also a multi-color Party Lightsaber blade that you’ll get.

Three New Perks

Perhaps the most exciting part about New Journey + is the three new Perks you’ll get. These are Purity, Warrior and Trendsetter. Here’s what each one does if you toggle it on:

  • Purity: Grants a massive increase in weapon damage for both friends and foes
  • Warrior: Replaces standard enemies with new, more difficult combat encounters
  • Trendsetter: Randomizes your cosmetics on death
dark. Next. Is Mark Hamill in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

If you’re looking for an added challenge, Purity and Warrior seem like an ideal combination. Trendsetter just seems like a fun one.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - New Game Plus And New Lightsaber Colors Guide

Complete the campaign to earn goodies in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

By Jason Rodriguez on April 27, 2023 at 1:23PM PDT

Your journey in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can last dozens of hours. Eventually, though, the story has to end. Still, there's more to do once you're done with the campaign. Here's our guide to help you with New Game Plus and new Lightsaber colors in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor New Game Plus and new Lightsaber colors guide

You'll unlock the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor New Game Plus option after defeating the final boss and clearing the campaign. But, before we get to that, we have to mention that you can still continue playing the game using your main save. All planets and areas that you've been to before can be revisited, so you can freely acquire collectibles and complete rumors/sidequests at your leisure.

What carries over in New Game Plus

As for the Star Wars Jedi Survivor New Game Plus mode, you should see the Start New Journey+ option on the main menu. This will create a separate save file to differentiate it from your initial run.

There are some caveats when you begin a New Game Plus run. For instance, all your abilities will be reset. These consist of special actions, such as grapple upgrades or being able to pass through green barriers . You have to reacquire them once more.

Fancy role-playing as a Sith Lord? Although it's just a cosmetic, you can have a red Lightsaber.

Still, a bunch of stuff will be carried over:

  • Lightsaber stances - You can use Crossguard or Blaster Stance early on, though you still need to gain access to a Meditation Point.
  • Cosmetics - Every new design for Cal Kestis, BD-1, Lightsabers, Blasters, and various color palettes will be available. Their respective chests will be empty on your next run.
  • Resources - You get to keep all your resource collectibles. You won't be able to grab the same ones on your next run. As for the NPCs themselves, you need to unlock their function, either via story progression or sidequest completion. You can learn more in our resource collectibles and vendors guide .
  • Skill points - All the skill points you've amassed will carry over, but they'll be reset. You'd have to reallocate them. You can learn more in our best skills guide .
  • Perks - There are 25 perks/passives for your to discover, but only 22 will be available on your initial run. All of these will be retained when you start your New Game Plus campaign. You'll also receive three additional perks, which we detail below.

A New Game Plus perk remixes encounters, which could mean facing DT Sentry Droids as early as Coruscant.

New Lightsaber colors and perks

Apart from the above, you'll also be able to unlock new perks and new Lightsaber colors in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. These perks don't count toward the perk slot limit. As such, you can activate all three of them or none at all.

  • Warrior - Replaces standard enemies with more difficult combat encounters.
  • Purity - Increases the damage dealt by Cal, friendlies, and enemies.
  • Trendsetter - Randomize your equipped cosmetics on character death.

As for the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Lightsaber colors, you'll receive two: Red (for those who are fans of the Sith), and Party (which is a multi-color option). These are not palettes for the parts, but actual blade colors. You can make changes once you gain access to a workbench.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a massive, open-world game, with numerous facets and secrets to discover. You can learn more in our guides hub .

How Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's New Game Plus Works

A New Game Plus option upon completion of the game was included with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor at launch. Here's how it works and what carries over.

Many modern role-playing and action-adventure games include New Game+, which essentially allows players to start a new game with most or all of the progress they made during a previously completed playthrough. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor includes a New Game+ (which the title technically refers to as "New Journey Plus") for players to utilize in order to retrieve any collectibles they may have missed and experience gameplay in a brand-new way during each subsequent playthrough.

Jedi: Survivor 's New Game+ comes with a host of additions and changes for players to enjoy. These changes include three new Perks, two new lightsaber blades, and the ability to reorient skill trees according to preference. Here is a thorough breakdown of everything Jedi: Survivor 's New Game+ adds, takes away, and carries over.

RELATED: What Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Players Should Know Before They Start

Jedi: Survivor's New Game Plus Adds Three New Perks

A unique addition to Jedi: Survivor is its Perks, which essentially give Cal bonuses to stats like his damage output, Life regeneration, and block meter. These Perks can be acquired in a number of ways, from purchasing them from vendors to completing Jedi Chambers . When players start New Game+ in Jedi: Survivor , they'll receive three new Perks for free: Warrior, Purity, and Trendsetter.

The Warrior Perk comes automatically equipped when players start New Game+, and it increases the challenge by replacing standard enemies with new, more difficult combat encounters. Although it comes automatically equipped at the start of New Game+, it can still be unequipped at any time via any Meditation Point. The Purity Perk is a "glass cannon" Perk that massively increases weapon damage for Cal, his friends, and his foes, so players desiring a more realistic combat experience should equip it upon starting New Game+. Finally, the Trendsetter Perk is the fun-factor Perk of the three, as it randomizes Cal's equipped cosmetics upon death. This Perk pulls from the pool of any cosmetics players have acquired during their time with the game, and it can make for some rather interesting (and often comical) looks for Cal.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Pushes the Boundaries of Game Accessibility

Cal Receives Two New Lightsaber Blades

Jedi: Survivor comes with plenty of customization options, including the ability to alter the appearance of Cal, his weaponry, and BD-1. New Game+ adds two new lightsaber blade colors to the mix, allowing Cal to wield a Red Blade or the colorful Party Blade. While the Red Blade is self-explanatory, the Party Blade changes its color after every attack, and with a pool of 10 colors, it really does make combat look like a party

Skill Points Are Refunded & Abilities Are Reset

Every Skill Point is refunded at the start of Jedi: Survivor 's New Game+, and while this makes for a rather time-consuming process of unlocking skills again, players will be pleased to know that they can continue to earn even more Skill Points as they play through the game a second time. On top of that, players will find earning more Skill Points to be a much quicker process than expected, as the amount of experience it takes to earn them is not exponentially increased on a second playthrough.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Bacta Tank Reveal Could Change the Franchise

The downside to Jedi: Survivor 's New Game+ is that all abilities are reset. This only includes the abilities that Cal learns as the story progresses, like Dash or Lift and Slam, and they can only be relearned by reaching the point in the narrative where they are unlocked. The good news, however, is that players will start each New Game+ with all lightsaber stances already unlocked, so they can begin using their favorites stances right away.

All Collectibles Carry Over

The final feature included in Jedi: Survivor 's New Game+ is the progress carryover of all collectibles from the previous playthrough. This includes chests, Essences, Databank entries, Force Tears, Treasures, and Seed Pods. Chests that were opened previously will still be opened, Force Tears that were completed will still be completed, and as collected Essences provide Cal with Life and Force upgrades, players will begin their New Game+ adventure with these upgrades already applied.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play on April 25

Pc game pass members can check out the sequel at no extra cost too..

The second installment in EA's Star Wars Jedi series is coming to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and EA Play this week. Subscribers can continue Cal Kestis' journey in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor   on April 25, almost a year to the day after its debut . If you haven't checked out the first steps of Cal's adventure, it might be best to get started with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is also available through those services.

Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of the previous game, with Cal continuing his fight against the Empire. This time around, you have five lightsaber stances to make use of, while the maps are larger than in Jedi: Fallen Order (at least the sequel includes fast travel). While Jedi: Survivor was generally well-reviewed, the PC port had notoriously poor performance out of the gate — an issue that developer Respawn Entertainment has tried to remedy through updates .

A third game is in the works , but there will be a different figure in charge. Stig Asmussen, the director of the first two entries, left EA to set up his own studio .

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sequel was just quietly confirmed by EA

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor sequel was just quietly confirmed by EA

Star wars jedi: survivor fans may be in luck.

Angharad Redden

It has been almost a year since Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released and with the sequel receiving such high praise, it would be a shame not to see another instalment.

Luckily, a third entry may very well be on the cards courtesy of a recently discovered job listing from Respawn.

Check out the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer below!

Telling the story of Jedi Cal Kestis in the world’s first ever open-world Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and both were met with praise for their exciting gameplay and homage to the original sci-fi movies.

Now a year on and with no direct confirmation of a third entry from Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts , one eagle-eyed fan has recently spotted a job listing from the company in search of a senior game writer which could have quietly confirmed another sequel.

The job listing itself mentions Star Wars Jedi, as well as describing the project itself as an “unannounced Star Wars title”. Not only that but candidates must have experience working on “AAA third-person action adventure games”.

This news would make sense considering Cal Kestis’ actor himself, Cameron Monaghan, suggested that a third title was already in the works just months after the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, according to a report by GameRant .

With the end of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor leaving more room for Cal’s story, it would not be unsurprising to see the story have room for more. Additionally, with the 2023 sequel smashing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order figures out of the park and being considered as one of the best games of the year, it is clear that fans are desperate for more.

Although it is yet to be confirmed, I think it is clear to see that a third entry in the sci-fi series has been given the green light. Now it remains to be seen when fans will get the official confirmation. Let us hope it is soon!

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is coming to Game Pass

Photo of Jesse 'Doncabesa' Norris

Roughly one year after launching, STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is coming to Game Pass via EA Play. Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for PC members will gain access to the title.

The title will hit EA play on April 25th. I reviewed the title back at launch and gave it a glowing review, despite some performance issues.

“STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is bigger and better in every way than 2019’s Fallen Order. Five years have passed since the first game. Cal Kestis and his friends are doing their best to fight the Empire as the latter continues to hunt the Jedi and their allies to extinction. Throughout 15+ hours you’ll slice, leap, force pull, push, and acrobat your way through a gorgeous and deadly galaxy.  Jedi: Survivor is a massive game, which can be a bad thing if it’s not handled well.”

Concluding with:

“STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor continues Respawn’s run as one of the best in the industry.  It is an incredible accomplishment, blending top-tier gameplay and narrative in a package few games can match.  Performance during my review was rough, but if they can smooth it out then this is a game that no one should miss. For fans of STAR WARS, this is the game we have been waiting for.  One that fixes the mistakes of the previous, and soars to heights we could have only dreamed of.”

The Xbox Wire account has a blog post up detailing the title at as well:

“Get ready to stand against the darkness in  Star Wars Jedi: Survivor !

The critically acclaimed action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment – in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games – is coming to the Play List on April 25, 2024, for all EA Play members. PC Game Pass and Ultimate Game Pass members can start their adventures this week as a part of their membership to experience the next chapter in Cal Kestis’ saga.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor  has earned top accolades and awards – including IGN’s Best Action Game of 2023, PC Gamer’s Best Adventure Game of 2023, and a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media.

The game follows Cal Kestis as he explores an untamed galaxy while carrying its hopes for the future on his shoulders. Members can look forward to discovering new planets and revisiting familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with unique biomes, challenges, and enemies. All the while, they’ll be mastering new skills, equipment, and abilities as they traverse the grandiose landscapes.”

Discussion:.

Play this game guys, it’s an amazing game and the best action-adventure since Darksiders 1 IMO! Koboh is one of the best designed levels ever made.

Most excellent. Just in time for May 4th! Hopefully im done with the quarry soon to start this.

Jedi Survivor was my second best game of 2023 behind Starfield. Excellent game and highly recommended and even more so if you liked and enjoyed Jedi Fallen Order.

The first one I have yet to finish, one of the many games that ended up in the backlog, damn.

You should definitely get back to the first game so you can go right into Survivor when you’re ready to do so. Both games are excellent.

I took a break from it because it was like Souls and it was kicking my ass. It had not grabbed me yet. Would you say Jedi Survivor is the same, or is that more like an action adventure? Or really more of the same?

It’s the same combat wise but still a great action adventure game. I played and completed both games on normal difficulty which is where the sliders are set in the middle making it a balanced fight. A few fights are definitely challenging but not impossible. If normal is too difficult for you, lower the difficulty setting. I play a lot of games now on easy/story mode unless it’s a game I know I will be great at which doesn’t apply to souls like games because im not good at them at all. Don’t skip the game when you can make the combat easier and more forgiving which in turn will make the game a lot more fun and enjoyable. Not to mention the fact that both games in general are great games.

I liked the first one better but this is still a damn good game. Have they fixed the performance stuff?

There’s easy mode? It’s also easy to farm for ability points and be OP, it’s only the bosses than can be a pain.

Xbox game pass is getting one of the best star wars games on april 25.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be coming to Xbox Game Pass via EA Play, making Cal Kestis' complete story (so far) accessible to subscribers.

  • Star Wars Jedi: Survivor joins Xbox Game Pass on April 25, offering players the chance to continue Cal Kestis' journey as a Jedi Knight.
  • The game expands upon the successful gameplay of Jedi: Fallen Order, with new combat techniques and abilities for players to master.
  • With a third game in the Star Wars Jedi series confirmed to be in development, players can catch up on the series with Game Pass and EA Play.

One of the best recent Star Wars games is coming to Xbox Game Pass this week. Microsoft's subscription cycles through new titles each month, adding new ones while removing others. These can vary from beloved indies to the biggest AAA titles, offering plenty of variety for its subscribers.

April 25 will see Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - which launched almost a full year ago - joining the Game Pass roster on console and PC as part of the game's publisher, Electronic Arts' own EA Play subscription. Considering how big of a title Jedi: Survivor is, it's surprising that this wasn't advertised earlier in the month when Microsoft announced its main Game Pass line-up for April , but considering how well-received the title has been - albeit after a rocky launch on some platforms - it's certainly a win for subscribers regardless.

15 New Games You’ll Be Able To Play On Xbox Game Pass In 2024

Jedi: survivor is one of the better star wars games in recent years, and its predecessor is already on game pass.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picked up five years after Cal Kestis' journey in Jedi: Fallen Order , with the former Padawan now a more experienced Jedi Knight, and its gameplay reflected this, with players already starting the game with many of the abilities they learned in the first game while learning more as the game went on. The sequel also offered greater lightsaber combat than before, building upon the challenging yet satisfying combat of Fallen Order with new lightsaber forms and techniques - including wielding a blaster - to tackle a variety of different enemy types.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is already accessible to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers thanks to its partnership with EA Play, so come April 25, players should be able to play Cal Kestis' complete story to date . Jedi: Survivor feels like the second part of a trilogy , and earlier this year, EA also confirmed a third game in the Star Wars Jedi series was in development, sadly at the same time as it shut down work on a potential Mandolorian-led title , with many of the developers who were working on that title being moved onto Jedi 3 instead.

There is currently no release date for the next Star Wars Jedi game, or even a trailer, but with development clearly underway and EA calling it a priority, hopefully, players will get more information about the title soon. Fortunately, with Game Pass and EA Play now offering up both of the previous games in the series, PC and Xbox players will have plenty of reason to catch up before then.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - How to Unlock New Game Plus

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor brings a refreshing feel to the franchise. For those who have completed the main story, there is plenty more to explore.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features one of the greatest Star Wars stories in recent years. There is plenty more to do for those who complete the game with additional bosses, collectibles, and a new game plus mode. Unlike Fallen Order , Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has launched with a new game-plus feature. This gives players a chance to replay the game with some awesome additions.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Gets Update On PS5, Xbox

But why should players start this new mode? This guide will explain how players can unlock New Game Plus as well as some of the features that come with the additional mode.

What is New Game Plus?

New Game Plus is an additional game mode that players can unlock after completing the entirety of the main story. The mode restarts the player's game with all the previously unlocked stances , cosmetics, and perk points, allowing for a much more free experience with the gameplay.

Unfortunately, abilities such as dash will need to be unlocked again as they affect the structuring of the campaign and stop the player from interacting with story-related areas or items. Overall, this mode helps to improve the already fantastic replayability of the game and allows players to experience amazing storytelling all over again.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Final Planet is a Bit of a Let Down

Most single players story games feature their own version of New Game Plus. Survivor implements this mode in a similar fashion, with all cosmetic and weapon unlocks continued but with some abilities removed for storytelling purposes.

How to Unlock New Game Plus

After completing the main campaign, players will be given the option to start over again using New Game Plus or continue exploring the worlds and fighting enemies. Once the campaign is completed, the player needs to head to the main menu. Underneath "Start New Journey," there will be a new option that says "Start New Journey Plus."

For those who want to continue collecting cosmetics and other items, it's best to hold off on New Game Plus and continue exploring. However, if the player is happy with their cosmetics, they can start New Game Plus right away. That said, all the collectibles and cosmetics can still be found in New Game Plus, but the player must unlock locations, such as Jedha and the Broken Moon , again.

New Features

New lightsaber colors.

The New Game Plus mode features new lightsaber colors allowing for further customization for players. At the first workbench on the mantis, players will have the option to apply the red lightsaber color to their saber. This can be changed further in the game.

Additionally, there is a "party" mode for the lightsaber. This changes the color of the saber every time the player parries or attacks an opponent.

New Game Plus also adds 3 new perks for the player to choose from; Trendsetter, Purity, and Warrior.

The Warrior perk adds more difficult enemy types to each encounter without directly changing the difficulty of the game. This can be a nice change of pace for those who want more of a challenge without changing the core mechanics of combat .

The Trendsetter perk changes all the player's cosmetics on each death. Although this doesn't directly change the game, it is fun to see all the cosmetics unlocked throughout the time playing.

RELATED: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – How to Beat Dagan Gera

Finally, the Purity perk increases all damage output from enemies and allies. This does increase the difficulty but provides a much more rewarding experience.

More Additions

After the launch of Fallen Order, the developers added a lot of post-launch content for players to return to. Although none of these were considered expansions to the base game, they did add New Game Plus post-launch.

In Survivor , there is already most of the post-launch features from Fallen Order (such as New Game Plus and the practice arena). It will be interesting to see what features the developers add to Survivor to keep players returning to the game.

Difficulty Change

After launching Jedi Survivor 's New Game Plus, players will be granted the option to change the game's difficulty; however, this can again be changed at any point during the campaign, so it is still not a fixed choice. Players can keep the difficulty the same as their previous save, but it can be far more rewarding to take on a more challenging playthrough.

Why Play New Game Plus?

There are numerous benefits to starting a New Game Plus save. However, it's good to understand the pros and cons of continuing a save vs. starting a new game.

If players are looking for a new challenge, the additional perks and change of difficulty can really change how the player approaches different areas of the game. For those simply looking for additional cosmetic updates , New Game Plus brings a host of new options for lightsaber customization and fun cosmetic gimmicks.

Players will have to unlock each location again. However, with the changes to gameplay through the perks, this is an enjoyable process as the game introduces some extremely difficult enemy types early on in the campaign. For example, flame troopers can be found during the first mission on Coruscant , whereas, in the normal game, they are introduced much later.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play on April 25

T he second installment in EA's Star Wars Jedi series is coming to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and EA Play this week.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor EA Play

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Released Early on EA Play

By Rebecca Smith

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been released early on EA Play for PlayStation subscribers. The game wasn’t supposed to be available on the service until later this week, but players in the Americas, Europe, and Australia can all play the game as part of their membership right now, as well as make use of a discount if purchasing the game through the PS Store.

The official Star Wars Jedi: Survivor EA Play release date

A post on Xbox Wire revealed the actual Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release date on EA Play is April 25. In what is likely a mistake that hasn’t been corrected at the time of writing, EA Play members on PS5 can already download the game as part of their membership. The game has been available on PS5 consoles through EA Play from April 22.

EA Play members can also get a 10% discount on the game if they choose to purchase it from the PS Store. The discount currently applies to the standard edition of the game and the separate Deluxe Upgrade. However, those wanting the Deluxe Edition are better off grabbing it as soon as possible rather than waiting; this edition is 50% off through the massive Spring Sale that ends tomorrow, April 24.

Away from Star Wars, there are also a variety of EA Play in-game rewards that can still be claimed throughout April. These are:

  • Apex Logo (Precious Peaks) Weapon Charm – available until April 30
  • Brigade Buster – available until April 30
  • Clubs FC Pro Black Glasses – available until April 25
  • VOLTA FC Pro Neck Tattoo and COINS – available until April 25
  • Ultimate Team Draft Token – available until May 14
  • Season 4 Rewards – available until June 3
  • MUT April Pack – available until April 30
  • Super Hero Set – available until May 22
  • WOC Coins – available until May 22
  • WOC Battle Pass XP Modifier – available until May 22
