Tallebudgera Creek Park

Tallebudgera Creek Park

This premium foreshore park* has an array of great features that make it the perfect location for a get together with loved ones. There is a small kids' playground, picnic shelter, barbecue and tables. Amenities include change rooms, toilets, drinking fountain and both inside and outside showers.

Relax with a picnic on the grassed area, or have a cool dip, kayak or paddle in the waters of Tallebudgera Creek .

Take a stroll along the footpath and boardwalk towards the Seawall and Tallebudgera Beach. There are several benches on the way to stop and appreciate the breathtaking scenery.

Entrance to the carpark is via Gold Coast Highway. There are plenty of non-metered parking bays beside the park. It pays to get in early as these spaces fill quickly on weekends and public holidays. The carpark is shared with the Gold Coast Recreation Precinct and Custard Café.

Accessibility

The park features a Disability Discrimination Act compliant accessible toilet design specifically for those with disabilities and special needs. Park facilities are accessed via the connecting pathways through the parklands.

For more information on parks with accessible features visit our Accessible parks page.

Dog exercise area

Dogs must be walked on a leash at this park and are prohibited on the foreshore area and the playground. There is a dog off leash area close by, at the northern end of Tallebudgera Beach.

*Temporary change to park area

From August 2023 to early 2024, the City of Gold Coast will undertake work to upgrade the Tallebudgera Creek Park.

There will be some short-term impacts during construction. The park, playground, picnic facilities and some car parking will be closed during the works.

For more information visit the Tallebudgera Creek Park Upgrade  project page.

City of Gold Coast has numerous parks nearby that you can enjoy during these works.

Escape into the world of Australian wildlife, with up-close encounters and captivating, interactive, educational presentations for both young and old alike. Undoubtedly the bird presentation was a big highlight, having large parrots and birds of prey swooping overhead and wild kookaburras, seamlessly joining the show, adding much excitement to the experience. The wallaby sanctuary was another standout feature, particularly loved by the kids. The chance to interact so closely with these gentle creatures was a truly memorable moment, and the joy on the children’s faces a clear testament to the impact of these encounters. While the park itself could benefit from some refurbishments, David Fleay's Wildlife Park delivers a rich and enjoyable wildlife experience. The engaging presentations, particularly the bird show, along with the opportunity to interact directly with animals, make it a worthwhile destination for families looking to explore Australia's unique fauna in a personal and intimate setting.

I had a really great time at the wildlife park. Lots of interesting animals, and the park is well built and maintained (quite accessibility friendly). And what's better the money is going to help conservation and preserve Fleay's legacy. Really lovely afternoon out, and looks like a great place for family and kids.

3 stars, rated out of 5 Thushini Goonewardene 4 months ago

It was quite inspiring to learn about the life and work of Dr. David Fleay. The park itself is a lovely place. However, it is not that well maintained, perhaps due to lack of funding. I watched 2 shows, the birds show and the crocodile show. They were well conducted, and the volunteers were quite knowledgeable on their respective subjects. It is a nice place to go for a walk. However, there isn't much to see. There is a cafe close to the entrance, but with rather limited vegetarian/ vegan options. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance. There is a free car park which is wheelchair accessible.

My family visited January 11,2023. We love seeing animals and this wild life park cares about the animals. It is small but very interactive. The staff are willing to answer any questions and provide back stories about the animals. It was a very enjoyable visit.

3 stars, rated out of 5 Angus Webb 4 months ago

This felt like a work in progress. It is a lovely setting among the bush, and within the park it feels pretty "natural". But, not many animals to see, and large parts were "coming soon" or "under construction". It has great potential though.
