Decked out head-to-toe in all-black and all-sequin everything by Kaufman Franco (including matching microphone), Taylor even managed to look good with a golf club in Kanata in Ontario, Canada.

One of our all-time favorite looks from the tour so far, nothing says pop princess more than this bejeweled all-in-one number, paired with a trademark red lip.

Sporting another sparkling outfit in a shiny green jacket and purple skirt, it’s no wonder she needed sunglasses. The varsity detail on the jacket gives it a nice too-cool-for-school edge.

Swift shook it off in this green flapper-inspired, tasseled crop top and skirt that she wore during a performance in Montreal.

Swift’s overall fun vibe on the tour has extended to her fashion choices. Not one to shy away from bold colors, she is pictured here performing in Philadelphia in a rainbow-colored sequin jacket.

Swift quite literally lit up the stage in Las Vegas, where she looked flirty and feminine in this summery pink skirt and matching top complete with L.E.D. lights and silver strappy heels.

54 Unforgettable Met Gala Looks

Every outfit Taylor Swift wore on the 1989 World Tour, ranked

  • Taylor Swift will release "1989 (Taylor's Version)" on Friday.
  • To mark the occasion, we ranked every outfit she wore during the 1989 World Tour in 2015.
  • Her silver bodysuit, featuring sequined tassels and a plunging neckline, took the top spot.

21. The multi-colored two-piece set

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Respectfully, what is this? I was a Swiftie in 2015 and I have no memory of her wearing this confusing pattern onstage. In all senses, it's a miss.

20. The ballerina look

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Swift layered a tulle skirt over her sequined bodysuit when she performed a mash-up of "Enchanted" and "Wildest Dreams" (also when John Legend arrived as a special guest to sing "All of Me" in Los Angeles).

I understand Swift's attempt to match the romantic mood, but the skirt was too yellowish to have true elegance.

19. The "Shake It Off" dress

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Swift occasionally wore this fringed outfit in hot pink and dark blue — a precursor to the green, pink, orange, and blue sequined sets that she wears during the "1989" segment on The Eras Tour .

The original version is cute, and clearly Swift likes it enough to recreate it eight years later. But funnily enough, this look doesn't scream "1989" like the skater skirts and bomber jackets. It's just not memorable.

18. The "Out of the Woods" catsuit

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Swift covered in head-to-toe sequins has a nice effect, especially from a faraway vantage point. But the flesh-colored mesh on her chest makes the jumpsuit look cheaper than it is.

I much prefer the black version that Swift wore at the 2016 Grammys.

17. The black two-piece set

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This look is fine. It's a concert classic. But in retrospect, it does feel a little simple — dare I say basic?

16. The black skirt

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This is a small step up from the black shorts, but the pleather skirt is a millennial fashion trend I wish to forget.

15. The black two-piece set with a silver trim

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This Las Vegas version is the best of Swift's black two-piece sets, but the silver studs look very outdated today. You could've found a knockoff at any Forever 21 in 2015.

14. The purple skirt

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Purple metallic is a fun touch, but as the designated "Speak Now" color , but it's not giving "1989" like its blue counterparts.

13. The royal blue skirt

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Today, this shade of blue is more associated with Swift's 10th album "Midnights," but at the time, it fit perfectly in the "1989" era. The color is rich and really pops onstage.

12. The purple jacket

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

The sequined bomber jacket is another "1989" tour staple. When Swift arrived onstage with her sleeves rolled up and sunglasses on, you knew it was time to search for a sound we hadn't heard before.

11. The silver jacket

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

The silver jacket gives a stronger '80s vibe than purple, calling to mind MTV's golden era of music videos.

10. The light blue skirt

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This look is quintessential "1989." The bright, metallic blue evokes the sleek, glittering hues of a cityscape — perfect for the show's opening number, "Welcome to New York."

9. The blue jacket

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Again, the light blue bomber is quintessential "1989." As Vanity Fair wrote at the time, "The varsity detail on the jacket gives it a nice too-cool-for-school edge."

8. The rainbow jacket

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Out of all the jackets, this is the best option by far. The blue-purple-pink blend has become a key ingredient in Swift's iconography, from her performance of "Dress" during the "Reputation" tour to her dyed hair in the "You Need to Calm Down" music video.

7. The blue bodysuit

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Swift called back to this midnight-blue bodysuit with beaded fringe during her fifth Los Angeles stop on The Eras Tour .

It wasn't in her regular rotation during the "1989" era, which gives it an exciting, limited-edition quality.

6. The silver fringe

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

The silver bodysuit with beaded fringe is exactly what a flapper would wear if she traveled through time to sing "Shake It Off."

5. The "How You Get the Girl" outfit

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Of all the shiny "1989" looks, this is certainly the most unique — not least because it literally lights up. Swift's pink top and matching skirt were striped with LED lights (as were her 12 backup dancers and their umbrella props).

Electronic engineer Dave Sheinkopf told InStyle that Swift's outfit was programmed like a Times Square billboard screen. Her lighting crew was tasked with syncing "35,000 moving parts" to achieve the intended effect.

"It's the first time that's been done with 13 people at once," he said at the time, calling it "the most complicated wearable lighting system for a stage show."

4. The leather catsuit

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

I'm partial to this look because it's the one I associate with Mick Jagger as a surprise guest (iconic) and Swift's rock version of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (even more iconic).

3. The "Blank Space" blazer

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

I love the blazers that Swift slips on to perform "The Man" on The Eras Tour, but the original blazer reigns supreme. It gives Swift the oomph of a woman in charge — the ideal outfit to wear while singing, "Boys only want love if it's torture."

2. The "I Know Places" look

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This is one of Swift's best-known looks from the "1989" era — and for good reason. This outfit radiates pop-star energy, from the sequin trim of her tube top down to the heels of her thigh-high boots.

1. The "Style" bodysuit

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

This silver look takes the cake. It's theatrical and stage-ready — kinda like something Christina Aguilera would wear in "Burlesque" — without being over-the-top and hammy. Marie Claire also likened the plunging neckline to Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress in "The Seven Year Itch."

Put simply, it's an outfit made for a star.

See New York City Through Taylor Swift's Outfits—No, Literally

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

Getty Images

Tonight is the night that Taylor Swift ’s 1989 Tour rolls into New York—OK, well, actually New Jersey —and while we’re stoked to have her back in the vicinity, we have to admit that we’re most excited for the outfits . From the thigh-high boots to her nude, sparkly jumpsuit, this is by far Taylor's most sartorially advanced tour yet. As a way to welcome the NYC Global Welcome Ambassador back to the city, we’ve taken a page out of Shamek Al-Bluwi’s book .

An artist, Shamek has become popular for his fashion illustrations, as well as his cutouts, which give the subjects of his drawings different outfits based on his scenic location.

“I have seen artists carrying cutouts of fashion illustrations and carrying them through their travels,” Shamek told MTV News in an email. “I decided to do the same, but [make] the outfits as the cutouts instead of the figures. I woke up with that idea and decided to do it in an urban street in Amman-Jordan, then [applied] these cutouts through my trips to various countries.”

Shamek has done cutouts for skirts, dresses, and sunglasses, showing off the places showing off the different designs and areas he finds around the world.

“I start first by deciding on the outfit, doing the artwork via Simple Line art in black and white to make the urban background and architecture stand out, then I cutout the clothes,” he explained. “I take so many pictures then I decide on one or two with different backdrops. I find it interesting if we have one item and place it in different spaces to see how the space affect[s] the item or vice versa.”

Since he's started posting his work, Shamek has garnered over 100 thousand followers on Instagram and almost 20 thousand on Facebook .

“It has been an overwhelming and humbling experience," he said. "[I'm] really happy with all the support and amazing feedback I have been receiving, and to see other artists recreating this simple idea with their own twist is everything.”

So, that’s what we decided to do. We took a few of Taylor’s recent outfits, turned them into cutouts, and toured them around New York City.

Welcome (back) to New York , Taylor—we're excited to see what ( and who !) is in store.

Travis Kelce Is Already Dressing Like a Swiftie

After yesterday's game, the tight end was spotted with Taylor Swift wearing a head-to-toe "1989" look.

where to buy the '1989' jacket travis kelce wore with taylor swift

Let me recap: A few days ago, Travis publicly invited Taylor to the Chiefs versus Bears game. Yesterday, she accepted and attended. Drank a vodka cran, had a couple chicken tenders, hung out with his mom—normal pseudo-first date things. Tay and Trav were spotted hanging out afterwards, with Travis stepping out wearing a KidSuper jacket. But not just any KidSuper jacket—it's the 1989 Bedroom Painting jacket (he also sported the matching 1989 pants ). Hmm...now who do we know with an album famously called 1989 ?

KidSuper 1989 Bedroom Painting Pants

1989 Bedroom Painting Pants

To be fair, KidSuper added the "1989" to the "custom Taylored" set , originally just called "Bedroom Painting," after Travis was spotted wearing it with Taylor, but regardless, this looks like the start of something promising. Supporting each other's careers is, after all, the hallmark of a healthy relationship, whether it was intentional or not. Still, we have a lot of questions. Did Travis or Taylor's team sign off on this product name change that endorses their 'ship? Are we seeing the subject of Taylor's next album unfold in real time, before our very eyes? Swifties, Chiefs, and Esquire editors are officially here for Traylor, because the couple that slays together—say it with me now— stays together .

chicago bears v kansas city chiefs

The two might just be friends, of course, but Taylor Swift is the queen of dropping subtle hints related to her music and relationships—and that jacket-and-pants set is right up her alley, especially with 1989 (Taylor's Version) being the next drop on her roster. As long as the folks in question are happy and Travis keeps serving sick streetwear looks that may or may not be inspired by Taylor Swift's discography, I'm in full support (and rooting for a punk-rock Reputation fit next—don't be shy, Travis!).

My Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' outfit was a last minute '1989'-inspired outfit.

What I Wore To Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Is So Easy To Replicate

This last-minute look was actually the outfit of my (wildest) dreams!

Taylor Swift wasn’t lying when she said she never goes out of style. Revisiting each one of her iconic eras for The Eras Tour proves that. The only issue with impeccable fashion taste is it makes deciding on a specific outfit to wear to the concert that much more difficult for Swifties. Aside from overcoming the first hurdle, which is actually getting a ticket to the show, picking out something to wear might be the toughest thing. What I wore to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was thrown together last minute, and it’s so easy to replicate if you’re looking for ideas.

My TikTok FYP has become #SwiftTok recently with merch hauls from the Eras Tour truck to full videos of certain songs on Swift’s three-hour long setlist . It makes me so happy to see fellow fans getting hyped to finally see Swift after so many years, and my favorite thing to see is everyone’s outfit reveals . Not only are Swifties diehard fans who are great at puzzle solving and finding easter eggs , but they’re also incredibly creative and talented. I’m so impressed at all the rhinestone jean jackets and DIY costumes that look like exact replicas of outfits Swift has worn before.

Since I originally was only going to attend the August shows in Los Angeles, I thought I had plenty of time to come up with a cute and creative Eras Tour outfit of my own. However, seeing all the concert footage made me spontaneously buy a last-minute ticket to one of her shows in Las Vegas. With only two days to plan the perfect ‘fit and $0 to spend after purchasing an expensive resell ticket, I had to work with what I already had in my closet. Under those parameters, I managed to throw together a 1989- inspired Eras Tour outfit that I absolutely loved and would wear again.

How I Styled My 1989 Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit

I wore a '1989' outfit to the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' in Las Vegas.

Along with using only the clothes I had in my closet, I also challenged myself to find an outfit that was comfy but not too boring. I was going to the Eras Tour alone , which is already nerve-racking for anyone with social anxiety. I didn’t want to add more stress on myself by wearing something that would draw too much attention or make me uncomfortable. At the same time, Swifties are going all out with their concert attire and I didn’t want to phone it in.

I was going back and forth between my Taylor Swift cardigan for a folklore outfit or my sequin bomber jacket for something in the 1989 era. I bought the sequin bomber jacket right after seeing Swift wear something similar at the 1989 World Tour. Basically, I saw Taylor Swift wearing a sequin bomber jacket, so I bought a sequin bomber jacket. It was always my dream to wear something similar, but I never really got the opportunity.

While I love folklore and wear my cardigan as often as possible , 1989 will forever and always be my favorite era. I had to make my wildest dreams come true and put together an OOTD inspired by Swift’s iconic tour ‘fit. Along with the jacket, Swift also wore a sparkly metallic skirt and black crop top. This was the era where Swift sported a lot of crop tops with extremely high-waisted skirts and shorts. I’m not as confident as her, so the only crop tops I own are sweatshirts that I wear at home in front of just my cat and no one else. The closest I had to Swift’s black top was actually a bikini top. Wearing a bikini top not by the pool was going to be a challenge in confidence, but I felt more comfortable having the perfect skirt to go along with it.

I have a few running skirts in my closet that I wear to RunDisney events. I have a metallic mermaid skirt for an Ariel DisneyBound outfit, and a purple one that I use for a Rapunzel or Hulk-inspired ‘fit. I love these running skirts because they have built in shorts underneath that are comfy and come with three pockets. Who doesn’t love pockets, am I right? While the mermaid skirt fits the metallic vibes of Swift’s outfit more, I went with the purple one instead. Also, I could pull up my skirt to mimic Swift’s high-waisted look, and it made me feel more comfortable baring my midriff.

This sequin bomber jacket is what I wore to Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' and is a great '1989' outfit ...

To complete the look, I added some sunglasses and the classic red lip that Swift is known for. I also tried to part my hair and sweep my bangs to the side, but the Vegas winds were not cooperating that day. It didn’t matter, though. I had a pretty great knockoff 1989 outfit that I couldn’t wait to wear to the show.

I even got a few compliments from Swifties I saw walking around the stadium that boosted my confidence. The only downside was it was still a bit chilly outside, but since most of the Eras Tour will be taking place in the summer, this is a perfect outfit to wear once it warms up. If you’re currently looking for inspo for something you can wear that’s comfy, cute, and allows you to shake it off, this is it.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Coordinate in Spring Looks for Malibu Lunch Date

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce confirmed their budding romance in September 2023, when the singer showed up to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs tight end at a home game at Missouri’s Arrowhead Stadium. The move came months after Kelce first publicly expressed interest in Swift, after attending one of her concerts.

Ahead, see everything we know about their relationship so far.

March 24, 2024: They hold hands in Malibu.

Swift and Kelce enjoy a romantic stroll in Malibu and lunch date at Nobu on Sunday after returning from their Bahamas vacation.

They are seen holding hands in coordinating springtime looks, with Swift wearing a fuzzy sky blue sweater and beige skort, and Kelce a beige T-shirt and black sweatpants.

March 10, 2024: Taylor and Travis party with Madonna after the Oscars.

Swift rushes back to Los Angeles from Singapore—where she played six dates on the Eras Tour—to attend an Oscars after-party with Kelce. And it isn’t just any bash—it’s Madonna’s very VIP soiree.

The ultra-exclusive event known as “The Party” is held at Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary’s home in the Hollywood Hills after the ceremony. Unfortunately, the event has a strict no-cameras policy, per Page Six .

Swift and Kelce also reportedly attend Gucci’s after-party on the big night.

March 8, 2024: Taylor gives Travis a shout-out at a Singapore show.

Swift gives her man a shout-out again while performing “Karma” at her fifth Eras Tour show in Singapore. “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” she sings, replacing the original lyrics’ screen with Chiefs , for the NFL star.

Kelce, in the audience, smiles and dances to his girlfriend’s performance. See the sweet video:

After her show concludes, Swift runs straight into Kelce's arms and gives him the biggest kiss. The two can't stop hugging each other, with Swift caressing Kelce's face, as they disappear behind black curtains. Watch below:

March 6, 2024: Travis talks about his trip to Australia with Taylor.

Three days before Swift attended the Chiefs–Bears game, Kelce famously shared on McAfee’s show that he’d thrown “the ball in her court” and invited her to watch him play—but in this most recent interview, he clarifies that he had already known she would be there.

“It wasn’t just an out-of-the-blue, ‘Hey, come to the game,’” Kelce says.

“I brought this upon myself, and I do enjoy having fun with it all, and the biggest thing is making sure my focus is right here in this building,” Kelce says.

“You hear the media throughout the year, if we’re not having success, you know, maybe throw it out there that I wasn’t focused or that the team isn’t focused on certain things, and if you’re in this building, you know exactly what’s going on,” he continues. “So, you gotta compartmentalize what you’re hearing and make sure that you’re staying on task, and giving everybody in the building and on that team the right perception.”

December 6, 2023: Taylor talks about Travis publicly for the first time.

As Time ’s 2023 Person of the Year , the Grammy winner opens up to the magazine about her supportive relationship with the NFL player.

She clarifies the timeline of their romance, revealing that the first time she attended a Kansas City Chiefs game was, in fact, not their first date.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift explains. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”

Although Swift valued their privacy at the start of their relationship, she says the couple has no plans to run from the public. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she says. “The opposite of that is, you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

The singer also addresses her viral, well-documented cameos at Chiefs games. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she says. “There’s a camera, like, a half mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”

Despite the attention her attendance receives, she says, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

Brother Jason Kelce tells Travis in the podcast: “You might not care about records, but you know who does? A 92 percenter by the name of … Taylor Swift. That’s right. She liked an Instagram announcement from the Chiefs about you breaking this record.”

“All right now. Um, thanks, Tay. I appreciate you,” Travis replies with a laugh.

“Gotta love the support,” Jason continues. “Has she always been a fan of tight end receiving yards? Is she a big tight end receiving yards [fan]?”

“I’m not sure, that’s a good question,” Travis says. “Maybe. I don’t know. I don’t know if she’s a fan of tight ends or not. I have to ask her.”

November 20, 2023: Travis talks about dating Taylor in new interview.

In his December/January cover story for WSJ. Magazine , Kelce opens up for the first time about his relationship with Swift.

Speaking of how they first connected, he says he had some people close to Swift “playing Cupid” for them, after he shot his shot at her Eras Tour. They eventually gave her his contact information, and he “got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but … when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures … in front of my locker,” he recalls.

As for their first meeting, Kelce reveals, “When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”

Kelce also says in the interview that he has “never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them” before the 12-time Grammy winner. “I’ve never dealt with it,” he says. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it … the scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kelce calls his new girlfriend “hilarious” and “a genius,” and reveals that he and the superstar share a similar outlook on family, work, and life. “Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” he says. “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”

November 15, 2023: Travis talks about meeting Taylor’s dad.

On the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, Kelce and brother Jason talk about the now-infamous moment when Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, was captured on video wearing a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard at one of her Eras Tour shows in Argentina —despite being a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan.

“Got him over to the good side, baby,” Travis teases. “Just one by one, getting all the good ones to come on over.”

“What are we doing, Scott?” jokes Jason, who plays for the Eagles. “You’re gonna let this man’s devilish good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a lifetime of fandom, Scott? Ridiculous.”

“I might have persuaded him at dinner the night before. When I met him,” Travis reveals.

At this point, Travis and Taylor have very publicly met each other's families, and a source tells Entertainment Tonight that a full family get-together, with all four of their parents, is set to happen this coming Monday, when the Eagles and the Chiefs face off.

Sparks says in the clip that she also helped take a photo of Donna and her friend in front of Swift’s movie poster, as the football player’s mom said, “I need to send this to Travis.”

Donna’s show of support for Swift comes some weeks after Kelce’s dad, Ed, told Entertainment Tonight of the singer, “She’s very down to earth, very genuine. She doesn’t put on airs or anything like that. … The ‘girl next door’ is an overused term, but she really is.” He added, “I mean, she’s been, you know, performing for huge crowds for over half her life, and for someone to be so grounded, and so normal—I mean, I hate to use that word. But other people aren’t.”

“Somewhere south?” Jason asks.

“Closer to the equator,” Travis says.

“I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation. I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess,” Kelce says.

Of course, Swifties have been losing it over the clips of Kelce’s sweet PDA with Swift on the date, and commenting on how well he seems to treat her. “Baby girl isn’t used to a gentleman helping her out of the car,” one fan on X posts, along with a video of Kelce helping the singer out of the car.

Swift does not wear Chiefs red, but instead layers a black leather jacket over a black long-sleeved top, high-waisted denim shorts, and knee-high leather boots, completing the look with her signature red lip.

September 29, 2023: They seemingly spend the night together.

Kelce is seen dining at newly-opened New York City hotspot Meduza Mediterrania as Swift grabs dinner at Emilio's, an eyewitness tells Bazaar.com. The two reportedly meet up later in the night and spend the night together at Swift's Tribeca apartment. Photos shared by Page Six show him leaving the home the next morning, ahead of his game.

September 25, 2023: Travis talks about their romance.

In a teaser for the September 27 episode of his podcast New Heights —which he co-hosts with his brother, fellow NFL star Jason Kelce—the Chiefs tight end lightheartedly addresses his romance with Swift.

“We’ve been avoiding this subject out of respect for your personal life,” Jason says. “Now, we’ve gotta talk about it.”

“Yeah, my personal life that’s not so personal,” Travis responds. “I did this to myself, Jason. I know this.”

The Philadelphia Eagles center then jokes, “Well, Trav, how’s it feel that Taylor Swift has finally put you on the map?” At that, Travis bursts into laughter, and the promo ends.

September 24, 2023: Taylor supports Travis at his game.

Swift is pictured sitting in a VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday next to Kelce’s mother, Donna; the two chat and happily cheer on the Chiefs.

After the game, Swift and Kelce are seen walking out together, and Kelce even wears a 1989 Bedroom Painting set from Kid Super Studios—a clear nod to Swift’s 1989 album!

Swift, meanwhile, dresses in the team’s signature red, layering a red bomber jacket over a white tank and black jeans, and wearing her go-to red lipstick.

The pair later grab dinner in the rooftop lounge at Kansas City’s Prime Social. An eyewitness tells Entertainment Tonight , “Travis bought out the restaurant for his family and team. Taylor arrived, wearing a denim dress, and was seen snacking, having some cocktails and dancing alongside Travis. The two were very affectionate with one another but kept things fun and lighthearted. Travis’ teammates also showed up to the after-party, as well as his mom, Donna Kelce. The party lasted until 2 a.m.”

Days later, a photo emerges of them together at the restaurant. In it, Swift is seen with her arm wrapped around Kelce at the bar, while chatting with some friends. (See the photo here .)

September 21, 2023: Travis comments on the romance rumors.

“It’s hilarious how much traction this has actually got,” Kelce says on The Pat McAfee Show of his potential romance with Swift. “I think right now it’s like that old game in school called telephone, where everybody is just whispering in each other’s ear and just hearing some random stuff … no one actually knows what’s going on.”

He adds of his and Swift’s relationship: “I threw it out there; I threw the ball in her court, and y’know, I told her … ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead. You might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.’ So we’ll see what happens in the near future.”

September 17, 2023: Travis addresses jokes about the alleged romance.

The football star responds after sports commentator Rich Eisen makes several Swift-related references in his broadcast of NFL GameDay Morning.

“Even though that bone bruise and the injury one would think is delicate , he’s been able to shake it off ,” Eisen says of Kelce, before referencing several more of Swift’s hits. He later incorporates another song title into his Instagram caption of the video, writing, “Look what you made me do @killatrav.”

Kelce simply replies, “Well played Rich. … Well played.”

September 12, 2023: Sources say they stars are hanging out.

The Messenger reports that “Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out” and that, “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”

Soon after, sources tell Entertainment Tonight that Swift and Kelce are in the “talking” phase of their relationship and are keeping it casual given their hectic schedules. The insider adds, “Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her. He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football.”

July 26, 2023: Travis shoots his shot.

The NFL star first expresses interest in the Grammy winner after going to one of her Eras Tour concerts—though his plan doesn’t exactly work out.

During an episode of his New Heights podcast (which he co-hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason), Kelce mentions that he recently went to a Taylor show and wrote his number on a friendship bracelet to give to her, but wasn’t able to deliver it.

“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” he says.

Though Swift usually holds a meet-and-greet with fans after her concerts, she hasn’t been doing so during the Eras Tour (as she performs for three hours or longer every night).

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows, because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce says, confessing that he was “a little butt-hurt” that he couldn’t chat with her. “She doesn’t meet anybody—or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” he jokes.

The singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end can't stop showing off their romance.

Musicians Are in Their Eras Era

From Taylor Swift to Madonna to Missy Elliott, stars are increasingly blurring the lines between past and present.

There was a time, not so long ago, when the term “era” brought to mind strictly academic concepts: a scale to measure the Earth’s geological time; a system for classifying sweeping events of human history; a theoretical timeline of our known universe.

a woman wearing a beaded headdress and bra

If this trend has a progenitor, it’s Taylor Swift : The musician’s career-spanning Eras Tour is reportedly the highest-grossing tour of all time. “Branding it as the Eras Tour and doing a greatest-hits run pulled in so many people, because you go to a show and it’s so clear how many fans came from the country years, and how some didn’t become Swifties until Reputation ,” says Elana Fishman, Page Six style editor and bona fide Swiftie. And Swift didn’t just revisit those eras musically; she also paid homage to the aesthetics of each album cycle, whether through a Reputation -era snake slithering across a Roberto Cavalli catsuit or a sequined matching set that called back to her 1989 persona.

a group of dancers on a stage

Of course, Swift didn’t invent the idea of tying fashion to different album cycles—that would be Madge, the Queen of Pop herself. Madonna committed to changing everything—from hairstyle to makeup to wardrobe—for each new record cycle, as if creating characters, in a way that few have achieved before or since. “Other artists have also had eras, but they may have had the same hair color throughout all of them. It doesn’t really count,” says creative director and stylist Shannon Stokes, who’s worked with Beyoncé , Rihanna , and SZA . “To me, those are great, and those can still be considered eras, but as a true textbook, you always have to go to Madonna.”

a woman in a headdress performing on a stage

For Stokes, creating and revisiting these visually disparate eras isn’t just useful in distinguishing album cycles, it also creates a fuller picture of the artists themselves. Fans feel more connected to a multifaceted musician. “When you’re doing everything properly, people get to see who you are in all different [areas] of your life: your sexual sides, your fun sides, your vulnerable sides, your introspective sides,” he explains. “It creates a stronger bond, because that fan base feels like they know you more, seeing all sides of your personality.”

a woman in a blue bikini sitting on a lawn chair

It’s notable that there are very few male artists playing with visual identity in quite the same way. While there are some, like Harry Styles or Lil Nas X, dabbling in tying fashion to album cycles, Paul McCartney isn’t exactly hauling out a Sgt. Pepper jacket on his tours. Maybe female stars feel more pressure to constantly reinvent themselves. Or maybe they’re embarking on a high-stakes version of what we all do when embarking on a makeover. Whether it’s a post-breakup closet cleanse or a big-ticket luxury purchase to celebrate a milestone, our clothes reflect who we are at different moments in time—and revisiting those pieces can be liberating, not to mention a fun way of remembering our former selves.

a woman wearing a silver hat, bodysuit and fringed boots on a stage

“We, as regular people, have had eras too,” Stokes says. “It’s an evolution, but you still can differentiate the time periods when you were living a certain way and therefore dressing a certain way and doing certain things.” While she may not have invented the wheel, Swift has discovered how to put her own spin on it, keeping fans engaged in the process. She’s taught followers to hunt for clues about upcoming album cycles in her clothes, fueling speculation that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) would be her next re-release with a pair of Jimmy Choo x Jean Paul Gaultier boots—or announcing her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department , with a white Schiaparelli gown at the Grammys.

a woman wearing a sheer bodysuit performs in front of a projected target

“A few months before the album rollout really starts, she’ll solidify what her aesthetic is going to be for that era,” Fishman says. “It keeps people hooked, because they’re decoding these clues and zooming in on Getty Images of her paparazzi walks and saying, ‘Is that a snake on her ring, or is it just a vine twisting?’ It becomes a real game.”

And while reinvention may still be all the rage among younger artists, one thing is for sure: There’s no longer a reason to fear history repeating itself. This article appears in the May 2024 issue of ELLE.

‘Tortured Poet’s Department’ comes out Friday. Here’s where Florida Swifties can find it

taylor swift 1989 world tour jacket

It's been over two months since Taylor Swift made a huge announcement while accepting her 13th Grammy award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards that shocked her fans (and the entire world).

Now the reason for the announcement is almost here.

Swift's new album “Tortured Poets Department” is set to release this Friday, with Swifties and music junkies alike going into a frenzy over new music from the popstar.

Are you for ready for Swift's "Tortured Poets" era? To get prepared, here's where to preorder and find her new album this week.

What's 'The Tortured Poets Department' album?

All's fair in live and poetry, Swift's announcements caption reads.

Swift's cover showcases a black and white image of the popstar wearing a blank tank and shorts on a bed on the cover. Even days before the release, the genre for the album has yet to be officially confirmed but it rumored to be synth-pop (1989 stans, rise up!).

Swift's 11th studio album, " Tortured Poets Department ," will feature 16 songs, including one bonus track titled “The Manuscript.” Here's the entire tracklist:

  • "Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department"
  • "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys"
  • "So Long, London"
  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "Fresh Out the Slammer"
  • "Florida!!!" (feat. Florence + The Machine)
  • "Guilty as Sin?"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?"
  • "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)"
  • "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "The Alchemy"
  • "Clara Bow"
  • Bonus Track: "The Manuscript"

There are also three different variants that come with a different album cover and bonus track — The Bolter edition, The Albatross edition and The Black Dog edition.

What is 'The Tortured Poet's Department' song 'Florida!!!' about?

Did one of the tracks look familiar? While there’s no confirmation on what “Florida!!!” is about, fans have taken to social media with their theories.

Florida and Taylor Swift: Florida lands a track title on Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Tortured Poets Department’

Fans theorize that "Florida!!!" is about her Eras Tour shows at Raymond James Stadium from April 13-15, 2023 — which would have been when details of Swift's and Joe Alwyn's, her boyfriend of six years, breakup were made public, according to  People .

When 'The Tortured Poets Department' comes out? When can I stream Taylor Swift's new album?

After receiving her 13th Grammy, Swift announced her new album  “Tortured Poets Department”  would come out Friday, April 19.

The album also will be available to stream on most streaming platform, such as  Apple Music and Spotify , on that date.

Where can I buy 'The Tortured Poets Department' once it releases?

Once the album drops, you can purchase it on her website . There will be several versions of the album available, including a CD, cassette, vinyl and digital album.

These retailers will sell the album starting on Friday, April 19:

  • Barnes and Noble
  •   Local record stores (Record Store Day is the next day)

Where can you preorder 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

The album is now  available for preorder on Swift's website .

Along with the standard and special editions of the album, there will be a special collector’s edition deluxe CD that includes a collectible 20-page booklet, which includes all song lyrics and never-before-seen photos, collectible photo cards, a bookmark and a magnet.

The "Tortured Poet's Department" also is available for preorder at Target. Swift announced the store will be selling limited edition vinyl and 24-page book jacket with never-before-seen photos and three replicated pages of Swift's handwritten lyrics.

What has Taylor Swift said about 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

In the weeks following the album announcement, Swift has given fans small teasers about its contents and the process of making it. Just days after announcing the album, she revealed during her first 2024 Eras Tour show in Japan on Feb. 7 the project had been in the making since October 2022.

“I’ve been working on it for about two years,” she said. “I kept working on it throughout the U.S. tour, and when it was perfect — in my opinion when it’s good enough for you — I finished it and I am so, so excited that soon you’ll get to hear it.”

In Melbourne, Australia, she said, "Tortured Poets is an album — I think more than any of my albums that I’ve ever made — I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me."

Many fans have theorized the album centers around Swift's ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The pair dated for six years before breaking up last year.

Parties and punch-ups: behind the scenes at the 1989 Moscow Peace Festival

Just your everyday tale of the first (and probably last) anti-drug festival behind the Iron Curtain, with Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Cinderalla and Skid Row

Moscow Peace Festival - press conference

If the original 1969 Woodstock festival, with its gruesomely naked bodies, uninhibited drug-taking and unprecedented approach to crowd control – come on down, brothers and sisters, it’s all free! – had been emblematic of the countercultural ‘revolution’ of the late 1960s, then there can have been no better symbol of the money-grabbin’, drug-hypocritical, so-called safe-sex 1980s than the Moscow Music Peace Festival, held exactly 20 years – and what seemed like several lifetimes – later.

Never mind Live Aid . More people may remember that but Live Aid, with its ultra-focused fundraising and dizzying global clout, was more of a handholding 60s throwback than it was a genuine expression of the age; a cultural aberration that deliberately traded on me-first 80s guilt to ram home its almost anachronistic message: feed the children, help the poor, pretend Thatcher and Reagan never existed (and while you’re at it, help revive my career).

The Moscow Music Peace Festival, however, was a genuinely self-absorbed, glossed-over, height-of-the-80s, multimedia event; inspired by the deeply held desire of a convicted international drug-trafficker to avoid going to jail, and the fervent wishes of the famous bands whose careers he then guided not to be robbed of their Svengali, their bad daddy, their real money maker.

In short, the only interests the Moscow Music Peace Festival really served were of the people on the stage, not the ones off it.

Even the location for the event seemed bizarrely at odds with prevailing rock culture, certainly as it had existed up until 1989: since when had the Lenin Stadium in Moscow become a venue of choice for high-profile rock bands?

Since Doc McGhee said so, that’s when. McGhee, lest we forget, was then manager of five of the seven big-name bands that would appear on the Moscow bill: Bon Jovi , The Scorpions , Mötley Crüe , Skid Row and local Russian outfit Gorky Park.

While the only other big name acts appearing at the festival not connected to McGhee – Ozzy Osbourne and Cinderella – were both managed by people he’d worked with many times over the years (notably, Sharon Osbourne, on the Crüe’s breakthrough US tour opening for Ozzy six years before, and when Doc returned the favour by letting Lita Ford , then managed by Sharon, open for Bon Jovi on his 1988 world tour). McGhee was also a convicted felon.

Or as drummer Tommy Lee put it in the 2001 official Mötley Crüe biography, The Dirt : ‘Before [McGhee] met us, he was living a secret life that blew up on him when he got busted for helping smuggle 40,000 fucking pounds of pot from Colombia into North Carolina.

It wasn’t his only bust, because he was also being accused of associating with some well-connected madmen who had conspired to bring over a half a million pounds of blow [cocaine] and weed into the United States in the early 80s.’ The result, after he had pleaded guilty at the trial in North Carolina, was a relatively modest $15,000 fine, plus a five-year suspended prison sentence.

The reason he was able to get off with such a light sentence was his additional offer to put together an anti-drugs organisation, the Make A Difference Foundation, for which he would raise money the only legal way he knew how: via his music biz connections.

As Tommy said: ‘Doc knew that anyone else probably would have been in jail for at least 10 years for that shit, so he had to do something high-profile to show the court he was doing the world some good as a free man. And his brainstorm was to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Woodstock with the Moscow Music Peace Festival.’

But as Tommy ruefully concluded: "It was all bad from the moment we stepped on the plane… There was a so-called doctor on board, who was plying the bands who weren’t sober with whatever medicine they needed. It was clear that this was going to be a monumental festival of hypocrisy."

Not that I was yet aware of any of that as I stood there, sweaty and starving, at Cheremetyov airport in August 1989, waiting for the plane to land. I was still too flummoxed by Moscow itself to worry about what any of the bands might be thinking. I had arrived 48 hours before to find a city gripped by such a fearful heat that all the sensible (read: rich) people had fled the city for their summer dachas. Not that there was much to keep them there during the cooler months either.

Back then, before the Berlin Wall had fallen, the image Moscow conjured up in one’s mind was of a large, grey, unhappy citadel full of long faces and even longer food queues. The reality, however, was much worse than that. Rule number one, I discovered on my first night there, was There Is No Food. That is, nothing edible.

There were restaurants, of course, but mostly they were all closed. Usually for ‘cleaning’ which seemed to take place approximately six nights out of seven. Even when you did find a restaurant open it invariably wasn’t worth eating in. Learning to survive on the road means learning to eat anything. Fussy eaters are the first to throw in the towel.

As a result, over the years I had, at various trying moments, found myself eating smoked reindeer and bear-steaks in Helsinki; drinking the foul tap water of Rio de Janeiro; quaffing chilli-dogs and fries at fast-food counters all over America; and gorging myself on raw fish and cold rice in Tokyo.

But never in all my travels had I come across anything so frankly – or ironically – vomit-inducing as the Chicken Kiev in Russia. “Why do you think there are no dogs on the streets of Moscow?” whispered Dimitri, conspiratorially – one of the many official KGB-approved festival ‘guides’ and ‘interpreters’ – as I pushed away my plate again one night.

Rule number two: There Is No Such Thing As Russian Money. Well, actually, there was – it was called ‘the rouble’, but no self-respecting Russian trader would accept them as currency. Officially, a rouble was the equivalent of £1 sterling. But on the black market you could get up to 10 roubles for your pound.

Even then, however, they simply weren’t worth having. The only thing a stack of Roubles could buy you was a wooden doll and a big furry hat. The only real consumer goods available were on sale in the tourist-only stores, which took all major credit cards including American Express. In fact, the main currency in Moscow back then, spookily, was US dollars. And if you didn’t have the exact amount you could throw in a pack of Marlboros. For change, you might receive an assortment of dollar bills, 10- franc pieces and the occasional silver Deutsche Mark. For small change you might get handed a packet of orange-flavoured Tic-Tacs. No joke.

As for music… well, these days, no doubt, it’s as easy in Moscow to download your favourite emo codswallop from the internet as it is anywhere else. Back then, however, records and tapes were purchased almost exclusively on the black market. There was only one official record store in the whole of Moscow and when I visited it they were selling the sort of junk you might find at a car-boot sale – dusty Frank Ifield LPs and third-generation home-made cassettes of The Beatles.

Everything else was either banned or simply not available in the Russian market. The reason for this, as Jon Bon Jovi later told me, was that “they don’t pay royalties”. He said they’d actually let them release the Slippery When Wet album in the USSR, “but we did it knowing we’d never see any money for it”. If it hadn’t been for the fact that the album had already made $100 million throughout the rest of the world they’d never have been so generous. Along with most of the Western bands flying in for the festival, I was staying at a ‘five star’, £125 night shit-hole in the heart of Moscow, one block from Red Square and the imposing shadow of the Kremlin.

Sex workers lined the entrance to the hotel, and dark-suited security guards with the thick necks and thicker accents of Bond villains checked the ID of everyone wishing to enter. Enormous black cockroaches clung lazily to the walls and ceiling of the lobby. In my room on the 16th floor I was advised by one of the advance crew to check for bedbugs before turning in for the night.

In my bathroom the water running from the taps was the rich brown colour of yesterday’s piss; in the soap dish there sat a decomposing apple-core. The only towel provided was hanky-thin and crisp as an old rag. Two cigarette stubs floated lifelessly in the toilet pan. I was truly baffled. What the fuck had happened back there when they’d had the Great Revolution? Hadn’t anybody come out on top at the end of it? And if they had, where did those guys go to eat – and sleep?

I had only been in bed 10 minutes when there was a knock at my door. I thought it might be the KGB. But when I opened the door a crack there was only one of the sex workers from the lobby, asking if I’d like to buy champagne (“Only ten dollars, US,” she grinned uninvitingly) or perhaps more (“I keep you company, yes?” Er, no… thanks).

This happened every single night I was there. On the third night, already drunk and feeling emboldened after another day of dog-burgers and Tic-Tacs, I invited her in. She asked if she could bring a friend and out of nowhere another woman appeared. I gave them $20 and we opened a couple of bottles of champagne. It was so sickly sweet it made Asti Spumanti taste like Dom Perignon.

I sat there on the bed morosely, drinking it and asking them about Russia. They agreed that Russian life was “verrry bad”. Never mind, I said, Gorbachev was working on it, right?

“No!” they cried in unison. Gorbachev was “verrry, verry, verry bad!”

They said they’d preferred life under the old regime. At least then, they said, you could get meat and bread and didn’t have to queue for everything. I gave them another $20 when they left and went to sleep feeling worse than ever. Gorby may have been a huge hero to the West back then but apparently he didn’t mean shit to the ordinary whores and champagne guzzlers of Moscow.

I went to sleep thinking I understood but of course I didn’t. It goes without saying that the bands were even more nonplussed when they arrived. Walking through Red Square in the rain with Ozzy the day after he landed, he looked around glumly and summed up the general feeling surrounding the build-up to the festival when he said: “If I was living here full-time, I’d probably be dead of alcoholism, or sniffing car tyres – anything to get out of it. I can understand why there’s such an alcohol problem here. There’s nothing else to do.”

Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx from the Crüe were similarly downbeat when I ran into them backstage at the Lenin Stadium the day before the first of two shows.

“It might be an anti-drugs concert for some people,” said Nikki with a shrug, “but it’s not for us. It’s anti-abuse we’re talking about. That’s our belief. We’re not here to preach. If you tell a young kid not to do drugs, he’s gonna do it anyway. I know I did. We just say – if you cross the line between use and abuse, then that’s really tragic. I’ve crossed that line, many times. And I know from experience that it’s bad, and I try to tell kids not to cross the line. The rest is up to them.”

But then Ozzy and the Crüe were the only bands on the bill still struggling with ‘substance abuse’ issues of their own. Indeed, Ozzy would be arrested for attempting to strangle Sharon within weeks of returning home from Moscow, after drinking the case of Russian vodka miniatures he’d been presented with by the promoter. While Nikki, Vince and the guys were then famously fresh out of an enforced spell in rehab, riding a wagon they were still barely clinging to.

The Scorpions, the only band from the West on the bill to have played there before – 10 sold-out nights in Leningrad in March ’88 – were predictably more upbeat about the festival’s prospects for doing good, hamming it up during their soundcheck at the Lenin Stadium with an over-the-top version of Back In The USSR.

As vocalist Klaus Meine told me afterwards: “There’s everywhere a drug problem, all over the world. So I think it’s good that the bands stand together on one stage and give a message to the kids in the world: forget about the drugs. The best drug is music.”

In the end, it was left to the ever-more earnest Jon Bon Jovi to talk up the festival and put it into some kind of historical perspective. Driving around town with Jon one afternoon in the back of a Russian-made Zil limousine, I listened patiently as he waxed lyrical about Nelson Mandela, Bob Geldof and the impossibility of obtaining a cold beer in Moscow. The two major issues, said Jon, were “money and awareness”.

After the “production costs” all proceeds from the two concerts were clearly earmarked for various drug and alcohol ‘rehabilitation centres’ and ‘substance abuse awareness’ programmes, specifically in the Soviet Union, where until the onset of Gorby’s perestroika it was not officially admitted that a drug or alcohol problem even existed.

The extra “icing on the cake” was being able “to do something no other rock band has yet done”. Live Aid had been about helping the famine-victims of Africa; Moscow was about helping the kids closer to home.

“You know, at this stage of the game, it’s like you ask yourself, ‘What can we do that Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones or the Beatles didn’t already do?’ And being here is it. Not only do we get to come over in a good cause, we also get to put on the kind of rock show never before seen in the Soviet Union.” Meine peered out the window through his shades at the rain sleeting down then added: “People are always ready to question the motives behind why a bunch of rock stars would want to get together and do something like this. And, sure, inevitably you get a clash of egos occasionally. It’s not exactly the easiest thing to organise in the world, we sure found that out! But at the end of the day, I look at it like this.

"I wouldn’t have known about Nelson Mandela’s situation like I do now had I not been drawn to it because of the artists on Amnesty. Or I don’t think that I would’ve ever known about Ethiopia the way I do now if it wasn’t for Bob Geldof. So there is a wonderful icing on the cake. You get to see all these big performers that I enjoy too, but there’s ultimately a cause behind it. And that’s what raises your awareness.”

All of which was true. And yet behind the scenes several spectres still loomed. Not least that of Aerosmith , who not only pulled out of the event at the eleventh hour but also insisted their contribution to the official Make A Difference album (a version of The Doors ’ Love Me Two Times) be lifted from the final pressing, after privately expressing concern over where exactly all the money was actually going.

Then Ozzy threatened to pull out of the event the night before the first show when McGhee suddenly changed his placing on the bill from third to fourth, upgrading Mötley Crüe to the slot above Ozzy. McGhee took the threat seriously enough to return Ozzy to his original placing on the bill, just below the Scorpions and Bon Jovi, and Ozzy kept his promise and did the show.

What Mötley Crüe thought of this was only made clear 12 years later when The Dirt came out. According to Tommy, "Doc had told each band something different in order to get them to do the show. Jon Bon Jovi thought it was just another stop on his world headlining tour, while we thought it was supposed to be a small-scale, reduced set. Then the production manager broke the news to us that we’d been demoted. We were on before Ozzy and The Scorpions, I was fucking livid.

Doc was supposed to be our manager, looking out for our best interests, and he was favouring one of his newer clients, Bon Jovi, over us and the Scorpions, who, in Russia, were massive. 'Fuck you, Doc,' Nikki said to him. 'We didn’t fly all the way to Russia to be an opening act while Bon-fucking-Jovi gets to headline for an hour and a half. What’s up with that?'"

After the show was over, Tommy says, he ‘hunted Doc down and found him backstage. I walked right up to him and pushed him in his fat little chest, knocking him over onto the ground like a broken Weeble. As he lay there, Nikki broke the news: “Doc, you lied to us again. This time you’re fucking fired!”’

The last time I saw Jon Bon Jovi on that trip he was in Red Square, still looking for a cold beer.

“Have you discovered any of the night life here yet?” he asked me hopefully.

I shook my head. We stood there on the steps of St. Asille’s Cathedral in Red Square, along with all the other out-of-towners and tourists, waiting to watch the changing of the guard at the gates of the Kremlin. I don’t think either of us knew what difference any of it really made…

It’ll be alright on the night…

Amid all the backstage chaos, just how did the Moscow shows go down?

Despite the behind-the-scenes bickering – Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee even punched out promoter Doc McGhee when he realised headliners Bon Jovi were to use pyrotechnics, something all the bands had been told was strictly off limits – music-wise the Moscow Music Peace Festival was a triumph.

Against all the egotistical odds, each band finally took to the stage and played six songs. Skid Row stormed through a set that featured The Sex Pistols’ Holidays In The Sun , Ozzy Osbourne mixed his own solo material ( Shot In The Dark and Suicide Solution ) with a couple of Black Sabbath classics ( Sweet Leaf, Paranoid ) to a huge response.

Cinderella were at the height of their powers – turning in a set that included high-voltage versions of Falling Apart At The Seams and Coming Home , while Mötley Crüe channelled their anger into a ball of punkish energy with a ferocious set that featured Girls Girls Girls and Wild Side .

The Scorpions were given a huge reception – they were arguably the most popular band on the bill back then – and Gorky Park held their own.

Topping it off, Jon Bon Jovi showed his prowess for courting popularity with the locals by wearing a Russian army coat and hat as the band tore through a show that included Blood On Blood, Wanted Dead Or Alive and Lay Your Hands On Me . Both nights finished in a memorable jam session; members of all the bands joined by drummer Jason Bonham took on Elvis’s Hound Dog (first night), Little Richard’s Long Tall Sally (second night) and Led Zeppelin’s Rock And Roll (both nights).

Taylor Swift Tortured Poets Department Album Review: Who’s Afraid of Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift in a white button down sepia colored

In this review, senior culture editor P. Claire Dodson explores Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department album.

A monstrous Taylor Swift lurches toward your favorite city — that tortured poet, that sly mastermind. She has “leapt from the gallows” just to “levitate down your street,” chin tilted down, eyes slitted, cold smirk. This is not the Swift wearing a patriotic red Chiefs jacket cheering on Travis Kelce , nor the smiling, golden-haired Eras Tour empress. It’s closer to “Blank Space” Taylor, who gazes at the camera with a glint in her smokey eye. The Taylor Swift song interpretation economy churns on and on, and Swift rattles the cage; it’s a bigger one, but the bars stretch across state lines. She pleads “temporary insanity,” she didn’t know what she was doing, and didn’t she deserve to fall apart? And maybe it’s actually your fault. Wasn’t it us who put her in the cage?

In the physical album prologue to Swift’s 11th album The Tortured Poets Department , she alludes to the time in 2023 in which she and Alwyn ended their relationship of six years, and Swift went on to briefly date 1975 frontman Matty Healy . She describes it as such: “It was a mutual manic phase/It was self harm/It was house and then cardiac arrest.” It is not crucial to know that these songs are likely about these two men, and it might even be detrimental. The meta-narrative of Swift’s life — the one she built as both innovation and coping mechanism, the one we took and ran away with, the one she both benefits from and is actively harmed by — has consumed everything.

Maybe this era is a way of burning things up so a new house can be built, but the flames are currently at her feet. Conservatively, one in every five conversations I have is about Swift; even the ones that aren’t directly about her often circle back to her, magnets brought together by how massive the Swift brand has become. Once upon a time being a Swift fan meant you were a certain kind of teenage girl — now it means next to nothing. She swings ever higher, the ambitions growing alongside the money alongside the notoriety alongside the acclaim alongside the personal stakes. There had to be a breakpoint.

TTPD is an attempt to capture the ensuing phase of chaos, to make sense of the things she did for love and drama, war and poetry, over the span of a few months. It is a humbling album for Swift, and it’s as charming as it is almost too self-owning. But she’s got to leech all the details out of her skin, whether or not it really helps. All the scarlet blood is evidence, and we get 31 tracks worth, including the double album she released at 2 a.m. on April 19.

2020’s folklore and its followup evermore introduced an interesting twist in the way Swift’s work is perceived. In her personal life, the public assumption was that all was well, and so the songs were created more from her imagination, from Americana and folk tales, drenched in high metaphor. “The lines between fantasy and reality blur and the boundaries between truth and diction become almost indiscernible,” she said in her folklore liner notes. “Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory.” And so we largely didn’t prescribe certain songs to certain people (with a few notable exceptions, like “my tears ricochet”) and instead luxuriated in the mossy landscape she crafted.

In light of the Alwyn/Swift breakup, fans have gone back and tried to draw out behind-the-scenes footage from folkmore ’s more biting songs, like “tolerate it.” Swift’s party line has previously been that she didn’t really mind when people did this investigating. She told GQ in 2015 , "I don't feel there is any injustice when people expand beyond my music and speculate on who certain songs might be about. I've never named names, so I feel like I still have a sense of power over what people say—even if that isn't true, and even if I don't have any power over what people say about me.”

But those investigations, while understandable, assume the wrong premise. It’s not that every song is a 100% factual news report of what she goes through at a given time, or that the metaphors just disguise the facts, it’s that the stories we’re drawn to — the ones we tell about ourselves and other people — still reveal true things about us whether we mean them to or not.

It’s been nearly a decade since that 2015 interview, and on TTPD we see her surrender some of that power, the need to control. Who is she but a person who can be sucked into bad boy mythologies and fantasies and avoidant attachment styles, just a girl, really? The easiest kind of pain to feel is the projected kind, the kind built on a thousand things that didn’t happen, but could’ve, if we’d held the pen.

Can you blame her? It was just “too high a horse for a simple girl to rise above it,” she says of the mean fans — “vipers in empath’s clothing” — who make “sanctimonious soliloquies” under the mask of protecting her in “But Daddy I Love Him.” (She’s just too soft for all of it!) It’s one of several jabs at her fans across TTPD ; her devoted listeners are saboteurs trying to ruin her relationship. It’s “Love Story” with a grotesque frame, and she’s cast herself and her lover as Juliet and Romeo: destined, ill-fated lovers torn apart by people who claim to love her. And she believes the stories she’s telling herself, which makes it a tough listen when thinking about Healy specifically. But who are we to judge? She’s an unreliable narrator and acknowledges as much, but who isn’t?

Only… okay, she sees your point. By the time we get to “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” she’s admitting that his jokes are “revolting” and he tells them too loudly. And that’s when we get the truly tortured “loml,” one of her best ballads about lost love to date. The third act twist is that “love” turns to “loss,” and the love of your life becomes “mr. steal your girl and make her cry.” The lies have built up, the pretty picture is a counterfeit. Her voice nearly breaks when she sings, “the coward claimed he was a lion.”

On this album, Swift is at her best when she’s being devastating or funny, and the in-betweens are where she loses steam — with the exception of “Florida!!!,” the Florence Welch collaboration that is as exciting as anticipated. With thudding drums and interesting percussive melody lines, it’s a great sign of what she could do with other musicians (even with Antonoff producing) and venturing more outside of her comfort zone. There are a lot of soft rock and alt rock sounds on TTPD , especially in the latter half, and in some of the double album Anthology songs; there’s a future lane for her there, combining subtle country and rock ‘n roll with slide guitars and a more ambient sense of space. From a storytelling standpoint, it’s not a huge evolution, and it’s more of an in-between era than a full one itself.

It turns out that the best sonic foreshadowing for TTPD came from 1989 and, specifically, the 1989 vault tracks. “Is It Over Now” would feel right at home on this album. She’s entranced with a certain kind of American suburbia, though the symbols feel a little undercooked and maybe better used in future concepts. The songs don’t sound quite like Midnights , despite the abundant synths, excepting “Mastermind” and “You’re On Your Own Kid” descendant “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” — which she should add to the Eras Tour setlist right before “Karma.”

“I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” is basically what people suspected it might be about: being able to perform for hundreds of thousands of people while your heart is in pieces. And producer and co-writer Jack Antonoff — for all of the mostly justified criticisms that he and Swift have lapsed into comfortable musical synthesis — still knows how to help her pull off the shiniest bop. The song is so much fun, especially with Swift’s spoken-word asides about being miserable.

I noted in my review of Midnights how delightful it is to see Swift be funny, and she leans into that again on TTPD . “I’m having his baby, no I’m not but you should see your faces!” she mocks one “Daddy.” All her friends “smell like weed or little babies” — a “millennial truth,” as Vogue notes — on “Florida!!!” The Charlie Puth line on the title track, for whatever it’s worth, shows she’s still capable of surprising us.

Lyrically, however, she also doesn’t have to explain everything, nor enter everything into evidence. She’s so often rightfully praised for her bridges and her poetic lyrics, especially post-folklore; Folklore and evermore are beautiful works, but not every album needs to be so poeticized, especially when she’s not nailing it. “Clara Bow” carries on the lineage of songs like “The Lucky One” and “the last great american dynasty,” exploring how famous women are compared to other famous women in history in a way that tends to demean both — but the bridge is heavy-handed, dampening the power of the verse repetition about Bow, Stevie Nicks, and then Taylor Swift herself. Descriptors like “tattooed golden retriever” aren’t really working.

Structurally, some of the ordering is confusing and overwhelming, perhaps intentionally so. Unlike on 1989 , there is no neat narrative here — no “Clean” at the end to indicate healing, a readiness to go off on the next adventure. It also takes a few songs to really get into the groove of the album. “So Long London” is such an exciting sonic highlight, and having Aaron Dessner back in the mix is what my colleague called “a relief, ” but then we lose ground until “Florida!!!” kicks off the back half of the original set of 16.

The most interesting thing about TTPD is that she’s starting to give up the bit. She knows we know — or she knows what we think we know. How would anyone survive this level of scrutiny?

Why hide from it? Why not play it up, acknowledge fault in the only way Swift as a public persona knows how, with self-deprecation and winking nods that ask, “but are you sure you’re not the problem?” You can’t know what’s a delusion when you’re in it. We know what comes after all of this.

“Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” is an early top track on TTPD . It exists in the universe of “I Did Something Bad” and “Anti-Hero” — it’s perhaps the latter song’s more monstrous younger sibling. It’s the kind of Swift hit that makes you laugh at the sheer gall of it. She’s larger than life, looming ominously doing way too much and pretending she couldn’t possibly know what you’re referring to. “I wanna snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me,” she sings, but they’ve cut out her teeth, the music can only do so much. You can only get as close as the cage.

And so the stalemate with fans continues; she’ll let them (us?) battle it out online and sing in unison in a dazzling stadium. “Who else decodes you?” Taylor Swift fans will sing to her, and the most famous woman in the world will sing back, “And who's gonna hold you like me?”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's love story just keeps picking up steam! After months of public outings, cross-country travel and even a Super Bowl victory -- Taylor and Travis are enjoying the Eras Tour, Coachella and more -- including the release of her new, 11th studio album,  The Tortured Poets Department , and the  buzzy new songs, "The Alchemy " and "So High School."

The high-profile relationship got started after the Kansas City Chiefs player attended Taylor's Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, earlier this year and fumbled when he tried to give the 34-year-old "Blank Space" singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it.

Leaving the situation "butt hurt," the Super Bowl-winning tight end would only have to wait a couple months before catching Taylor's eye.

"Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her," a source told ET as the relationship went public. "He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football."

And 34-year-old Travis was nothing but bold when trying to connect with Taylor.

"Travis has never shied away from his desire to give dating with Taylor a try, which he even said during a press conference a few months ago after seeing Swift in concert," another source told ET at the time. "Travis and Taylor are taking things slowly, and not rushing into anything serious. Both are very career-focused, so the focus is on that for now, but that's not going to stop them from enjoying life when it's the right moment."

Soon, however, their paths crossed in a big way, and their romance has captured the imaginations of Swifties and football fans across the globe. Here's everything we know about the singer and sports star's relationship so far.

It Started With a Friendship Bracelet

In July 2023, Travis revealed on his and his brother Jason Kelce's podcast,  New Heights,  that he was unsuccessful when he attempted to give Taylor a friendship bracelet after the Eras Tour  concert at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis said. "So I was a little butthurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

Revealing his plan at the time, Travis admitted that his bracelet had his phone number on it.

"If you're up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets," Travis said. "I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it."

That didn't exactly work out, as Travis noted, "She doesn't meet anybody, or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal."

Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, told his brother not to take it personally, as she was probably still upset about the Chiefs beating the Eagles at this year's Super Bowl.

"She probably just hasn't gotten over the Super Bowl yet," Jason quipped. "She's a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and didn't want to talk to you."

Shaking Off the Rumors

Two months passed without an update about Travis' attempt to reach out to Taylor, though fans began to speculate if there was a connection. At the beginning of September, a source confirmed to ET that although he has a crush on Taylor, there was no romance ...yet.

"Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her. He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football," the source said at the time.

In a post-game interview that same week, Travis playfully brushed off an interviewer's question when pressed about the validity of his attempt to get Taylor's number.

"I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it. And you know what, it is what it is. I'm not gonna talk about my personal life," he said.

She's In the Bleachers... Well, the Suites

On Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, fans were shocked to see Taylor inside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City as the Chiefs took on the Chicago Bears. During the game, Taylor made it clear that she was rooting for the home team -- and their tight end -- as she rocked a Chiefs jacket and KSUBI denim shorts while she sat next to Travis' mom,  Donna Kelce , in the NFL player's suite.

Taylor brought a lot of energy to the stadium  and was seen giving chest bumps, high fives, and doing plenty of shouting , especially when Travis scored a touchdown.

An eyewitness at the game told ET that Taylor was "just so very normal, just watching the game casually with Mama Kelce."

Post-Game Party and PDA

Following the 41-10 victory that Travis and his team claimed, there was much to celebrate -- and Taylor got in on the action. In a video that circulated on social media, Travis and Taylor walked side-by-side as they exited the stadium and hopped in his getaway car.

Taylor was on hand with Travis as their night continued at the popular family eatery Prime Social Rooftop, a trendy restaurant in Kansas City. She was even spotted packing on a little PDA with the tight end.

"Travis bought out the restaurant for his family and team. Taylor arrived, wearing a denim dress, and was seen snacking, having some cocktails and dancing alongside Travis," an eyewitness told ET. "The two were very affectionate with one another but kept things fun and lighthearted. Travis' teammates also showed up to the after-party, as well as his mom and dad, Donna and Ed. The party lasted until 2 a.m."

Taylor even got the seal of approval from Travis' teammate, Patrick Mahomes, after meeting her at the party.

"Yeah, I met her. She's really cool, good people," the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback said  in a press conference  on Sept. 27, 2023. "But  like Trav said , man, I'm going to let them have their privacy and just keep it moving."

In the afterglow of the game,  sales of Travis' jersey have reportedly shot through the roof , even more than Mahomes.

A Night to Remember

Travis wasn't able to get away from the chatter as he and Jason filmed their first New Heights episode since Taylor's cameo at the big game.

"Shout-out to Taylor for pulling up, that was pretty ballsy," he said. "I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. You know, the friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light."

He added, "To see the slow-motion chest bumps, to see the high fives with Mom, to see how, you know, Chiefs Kingdom was all excited she was there -- that s**t was absolutely hysterical and it was definitely a game I'll remember, that's for damn sure. And then we just slid off in the getaway car at the end. Took my Chevelle to the game."

"Shout-out to Taylor for coming through and seeing me rock the stage," Travis concluded.

Welcome to Kansas City

In the hours following their public debut, a source revealed to ET that Travis and Taylor had privately spent time together . She was also seen at Travis' house with his family ahead of the game in Kansas City.

"Travis and Taylor have a lot in common and they are having a great time getting to know each other. They have similar values. She likes that he pursued her and it has been easy and exciting for both of them," the source said.

Having just wrapped the first leg of her Eras World Tour, the source added, "Taylor is enjoying some time off from touring and it’s been fun hanging out with Travis during this break. Taylor wants a guy that’s into his career, does his own thing, but is also supportive and understands her, and Travis fits those qualities."

Keeping Them Guessing

Despite all of the chatter, Travis refused to confirm or deny if he and Taylor are new romantics .

On the New Heights  podcast, Jason celebrated Travis for the results that followed him "shooting his shot," and gave him the floor to speak on his and Taylor's status.

"You gotta shoot your shot," Jason quipped.

"You miss 100 percent you don't take, baby," the Catching Kelce star cracked, before getting serious.

"So yeah. I think what's real is that, you know, it is my personal life and I want to respect both of our lives," he shared. "She's not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week and having fun during the NFL season on other guys' shows, like [ The Pat McAfee Show ] and any other show that I go on from here on out, you know ... I'm enjoying life. And I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend, so everything moving forward, I think me talking about sports and saying 'all right now' will have to be kinda where I keep it."

Welcome to New York

On Oct. 1, 2023, Taylor brought loads of star power to the NFL when she and her famous friends attended the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The "Welcome to New York" singer brought along to the game Sophie Turner, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, Queer Eye 's Antoni Porowski, and her backup singer and friend, Melanie Nyema. Patrick's wife, Brittany Mahomes, was also seated in the same section.

At one point, Taylor was spotted sharing a sweet embrace with Mama Kelce.

It was another exciting game for the Chiefs, who beat the Jets 23-20. But after this game, Travis and Taylor went their separate ways, with the singer leaving with Sophie and the NFL star presumably jetting back to Kansas City.

He was, however, spotted leaving Taylor's apartment in New York City just hours before the game, and later liked an article on social media about the singer's presence at the sporting event.

Back In Kansas City

After skipping  Travis ' game against the Minnesota Vikings, the singer was back in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 12  to root the Chiefs in their game against the Denver Broncos .

Swift was spotted getting on a golf cart at Arrowhead Stadium before kickoff, sporting a black dress and a Chiefs-themed jacket, which she wore hanging off one shoulder.

She was later seen enjoying a drink while sitting in a box seat. Then, during the game, after Kelce made an impressive catch and picked up 40 yards, Swift gasped, jumped out of her seat, and loudly cheered for her beau.

She once again spent the game hanging out with Donna in a private box suite. The women smiled as they watched the pregame festivities on the field and waited for kickoff.

In the heat of the Chiefs' 19-8 victory over the Broncos, T aylor gleefully embraced her new friend, Brittany Mahomes , wife of Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The pair -- who have hung out a few times in the past few weeks amid Taylor's rumored romance with Travis -- watched much of the game at Arrowhead Stadium side-by-side, cheering and rooting on their team.

Date Night Debut After Their SNL Cameos!

On Saturday, Oct. 14, the cute couple made their date night debut -- their first official public outing  since sparking romance rumors  -- and even showed a little PDA.

were spotted holding hands as they arrived at the  Saturday Night Live  after-party. Travis was the perfect gentleman as he held Taylor's hand while she exited the truck.

Showing off their style in the rainy weather, the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer wore a long trench coat over black pants and a cropped shirt ensemble. Swift also held a black purse. Kelce wore brown pants and an embroidered jacket with a white T-shirt and white sneakers.

Their appearance at the party came after both  made separate cameos on SNL during the show 's season 49 premiere, hosted by Pete Davidson.

Travis appeared at the end of the first sketch of the night, which poked fun at the NFL's constant coverage of him and Taylor's romance.

For her part, Taylor introduced musical guest Ice Spice, ahead of her second performance.

An eyewitness told ET that the  SNL  cast celebrated the season premiere's after party at Catch Steakhouse in the Meatpacking District in NYC, and Taylor and Travis were on hand for the festivities. According to the eyewitness, the pair arrived at the celebration around 2:20 am holding hands.

"Taylor and Travis seemed to really be having a great night and looked happy to be with each other," the eyewitness says. "They kissed throughout the evening."

Inside the party, another source told ET, "Taylor and Travis looked very comfortable and happy together. They were kissing openly and weren’t shy with their PDA. When Taylor first arrived, she spent time with Ice Spice and Ice Spice’s friends."

Date Night Part Deux

The "Blank Space" singer and the NFL pro hit the streets of New York City f or another evening ou t . The couple were all smiles as they left the Waverly Inn restaurant hand-in-hand.

Taylor didn't let the autumn breeze keep her from showing off her long legs in a black leather mini skirt, which she paired with a sheer long-sleeved top, and black boots. The singer kept her hair pinned back and had her signature red lipstick on display.

For his part, Travis showed off his usual swag in a matching light denim set, which he layered over a black T-shirt.

As they left the restaurant -- to the surprise of some fans -- the pair were all smiles and holding hands. Travis even held Taylor's hand as he helped her into their getaway car.

Rooting On the Chiefs Once More

The "Anti-Hero" singer made her return to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to cheer on  Travis Kelce  on Sunday, Oct. 22. Taylor and Brittany Mahomes once again sat side-by-side as they rooted for the Chiefs in their game against the Los Angeles Charges.

Brittany also brought along her and Patrick's baby boy, Bronze. As the game got started, Taylor was spotted holding her camera in the direction of Brittany and her little boy, who smiled for the camera as his mom held him on her hip. In more clips, the trio was game day ready, as they danced, chatted and cheered.

Meanwhile, Taylor showed her team spirit in a Chiefs crewneck and a black skirt. The GRAMMY-winning singer's signature red lip was the perfect complement to her look. She also paid subtle tribute to Travis by rocking a friendship bracelet sporting his jersey number, 87.

Packing on the PDA In Argentina

Taylor kicked off the South American leg of her Eras Tour on Nov. 9 in Argentina, with a three-show run  at the Estadio Monumental (a.k.a. River Plate Stadium)  in Buenos Aires.

Since the Chiefs had a bye week, Travis flew down to Buenos Aires to check out the show, and was in attendance during the night of her shows.

Taylor surprised her beau with a  lyric change to her song "Karma,"  making a direct reference to him to the shock and excitement of fans. The singer was in the middle of her performance when she belted out, "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me." Immediately after Swift sang that line, the entire crowd went wild.

After the show, Taylor and Travis also  packed on some adorable PDA  when she ran off the stage and jumped into his arms to give him a kiss -- as seen in a video posted online that quickly went viral.

Matchmakers

Travis offered some clues about how the couple's romance really began in an interview with  WSJ. Magazine , published in November 2023.

"There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: 'Yo! Did you know he was coming?' I had somebody playing Cupid," Travis revealed to the magazine ,  admitting that he only learned of that story later, after he was shocked to discover a notification from Taylor on his phone.

"She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out," he shared.

The matchmakers, apparently, were Taylor's young cousins, who are fans of the Super Bowl champion.

"She'll probably hate me for saying this" Travis spilled, "but when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures... in front of my locker."

Talking With 'Time'

The pop icon  offered a candid reflection on the high-profile romance in an interview with  Time  in early December,   as the magazine's  2023 Person of the Year honoree .

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," she said. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for, because we got to get to know each other... By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."

"When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there and we don't care," she declared. "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone. And we're just proud of each other."

She is aware, however, of the criticism surrounding how the NFL has handled coverage of her appearances at a handful of recent games. "I don't know how they know what suite I'm in," she said. "There's a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don't know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don't know if I'm being shown 17 times or once... I'm just there to support Travis... I have no awareness of if I'm being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads."

Travis Returns the Praise

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end  had the support of the singer  during his game against the New England Patriots on Dec. 17, and couldn't help but gush over her star power on an episode of his   New Heights  podcast.

"I mean, you don't see an entire home team fanbase go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team's colors," Travis told his brother and co-host. The Patriots called attention to their famous visitor by showing her on the jumbo screen at one point, prompting a visceral reaction from the home crowd.  "Just shows you how amazing that girl is. They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen, yes."

Christmas on the Grid Iron

The pair spent their first Christmas as a couple at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs took on the Raiders, and Taylor was in the stands, rocking some x-mas themed Chiefs gear, to show her love and support. The singer also brought her parents -- Andrea and Scott Swift -- along on Christmas Day as a family to watch.

A source told ET that "Taylor is  planning to spend a lot more time  at Travis’ house in Kansas City while she is on a break."

The source continued, "They’re both very excited to be together, and Travis is making sure that Taylor feels comfortable and at home. They have mutual respect and admiration for one another, and their feelings for each other are sincere."

Looking Ahead

At the start of 2024, with Taylor set to resume her Eras Tour and Travis setting his sights on another Super Bowl, a source told ET that the couple had been thinking about their future together.

"Taylor and Travis are doing really well," the source said in January. "They try to spend as much time as they can together. Travis also makes it a point to make sure Taylor feels as comfortable as possible at his home. They have discussed their future as a couple and are excited at the idea of it."

The pair rang in the New Year with a kiss in Kansas City, while Taylor continued to be  a mainstay at Kelce's Chiefs games . She also  traveled to Buffalo, New York , to see them score a victory over the Bills and meet Travis' brother,  Jason Kelce , and sister-in-law,  Kylie Kelce , for the first time.

It was then that Jason famously stole the show by ripping off his shirt , chugging a beer, and cheering for his brother's touchdown.

"[Kylie] was already telling me to be on my best behavior because we were meeting Taylor," Jason later explained on the siblings'  New Heights podcast . "She was like, 'Do not. Be on your best behavior.' I was like, 'Kylie, when I met you, the first day I met you, I was blackout drunk and fell asleep at the bar.' This is part of the charm. This is part of the Jason Kelce charm. I want to make my best first impression... This is my best chance."

The admission sent Travis into a fit of hysterics, responding, "That s**t was classic."

As it turns out, Jason's plan apparently worked.

"Ah, man, well," Travis continued. "Tay says she absolutely loved you."

Three Little Words

Taylor and Travis shared another highly public display of affection after the Chiefs won the AFC title over the Baltimore Ravens, clinching their  Super Bowl LVII  spot. The singer flocked to the turf after the game and planted a celebratory kiss on her man.

In videos shared on social media, the couple could be seen exchanging "I love yous" during the festivities on the field.

After plenty of speculation about whether or not Taylor would be able to make it to watch Travis play in Super Bowl LVIII (she had an Eras Tour performance in Tokyo the day before) she was of course on hand to watch Travis and the Chiefs win their second consecutive Lombardi trophy, with a 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Taylor and pals Ice Spice and Blake Lively joined Travis' family and friends in a box at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to watch the closely contested championship, and she rushed the field to congratulate him after the big win.

"Thank you for coming, baby," cameras captured Travis telling Taylor after a sweet kiss and hug on the field.

"Oh, I cannot believe that," Taylor responded. "I can't believe you. How did you do that?"

"Was it electric?" he asked, to which she sweetly replied, "It was unbelievable."

Changing the Game

Following his Super Bowl win, one of Travis' pre-game interviews with Fox Sports reporter Laura Okmin made the rounds again. In the clip, the tight end marveled at the impact his relationship has had, in helping to bring together football fans and Swfties.

"I'm very aware," Travis said of the phenomenon. "Obviously that is mostly because Taylor's in my life now and we got her a part of Chiefs Kingdom, and sure enough that brought an entire entourage of human beings that just love to support her and love to support everything that she's about, so it's been a fun ride up to this point. It has been beautiful to see the father and daughter stories that have come about because of all this."

Travis emphasized that he remains "focused" on football and "making sure that I'm accountable" on the field, explaining why he keeps a "guarded approach" to addressing his relationship.

"But at the same time," he added, "I know what me and Taylor have is special, so I get it."

'A Different Man'

Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt opened up about "Swelce" in a post-Super Bowl interview on  The Sports Shop With Reese & Kmac , admitting that Taylor "actually affected the team in a positive way."

"Everybody was excited that Travis was happy. So when my player, my brother, is happy beside me, that helps me and that encourages me," Merritt said of their romance, noting that since they got together, Travis "came in there a different man."

"She won a Super Bowl in her first year in the NFL," he joked. "How about that?"

The backlash Taylor received from some football fans even brought her closer to the team, Merritt said.

"Upon meeting her, I felt like she actually added to what it was that we were trying to do," he shared. "Because there were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on TV, that you know what, you're part of our family because you're now with Travis, so therefore you're our little sister or you're whatever it may be, you're part of family."

Traveling Trav

After the Super Bowl, it was time for Travis to support Taylor, as he  jetted to both Australia  and  Singapore  to support Swift on her Eras Tour stops -- with  a pit stop in Las Vegas, Nevada , with his teammates in between.

"Traveling Trav is my f**king nickname," the athlete chuckled during an episode of  his  New Heights  podcast . "Not because I move around a lot but because I can't f**king dribble a basketball."

Amid their jet-setting romance, a source told ET  that Taylor was "happier than ever and so in love" with Travis.

"She likes that Travis is so proud of her and that he isn't afraid to show his love for her publicly," the source said.

"She is in a great place and having the best time performing, making music, and feeling free to live her life more openly," the source added. "Travis is enjoying being on tour with Taylor and is happy to support her."

As for what's in store for the couple, the source said that "Taylor views Travis as a true partner and someone she can have a real future with."

Bahamas Bliss

Following the Super Bowl media madness and during a break in the Eras Tour, the couple made a quick tropical getaway for some R&R and some PDA.

The couple was snapped looking totally loved up while on vacation together in the Bahamas. In photos published by  Page Six , Taylor and Travis could be seen enjoying a dip in the ocean and sunbathing on the beach. In one shot, the couple kissed in the water while Taylor held a drink in her hand.

Rare Downtime

Following their Bahamas trip, a source told ET that "Taylor and Travis are soaking up their downtime together. They are appreciating the here and now and the love they share with one other. When they're able to just chill out, they love to hang out with their friends and family, travel, see new things together, and enjoy their privacy."

The source added, "They are grateful to have each other along for the ride and advocate and support each other across the board. While they're enjoying this moment, they're looking forward to what the future holds too. They want to continue to grow together and be happy and healthy. Their friends and family are still as supportive as ever."

Making Music

Ahead of his Kelce Jam music festival, Travis opened up to ET about being inspired by Taylor's musical tastes.

"It's definitely been fun to experience her taste in music, for sure," Kelce told ET. "She's so amazing at what she does. And to find that creativity to see where she likes to pull things from and just, really, how she listens to music is very eye-opening for me. It's been fun to hear her take on it."

Following the release of her 11th studio album,  The Tortured Poets Department , Taylor will perform at London's 90,000-seat-Wembley Stadium on June 21-23 and then again on Aug. 15-19.

"She'll be all over Europe," Travis raved. "There won't be a bad show, I promise you that."

While the NFL star has already soaked up the Eras Tour  in Argentina ,  Sydney, Australia  and  Singapore , inquiring minds wanted to know if he'll pack his bags and make the trek across the pond.

"Oh, you know I gotta go support," he told ET. "You know it."

Dancing in the Desert

The happy couple had a super cute outing on the first weekend of Coachella 2024, packing on the PDA in numerous fan videos as they supported friends like Jack Antonoff and Lana Del Rey during their sets.

"Taylor and Travis were so excited to go to Coachella together," a source told ET. "They wanted to be there to support their friends and just have fun. They had the best time at the festival and were in their own world even though so many people were around them. They are very in love and in sync in so many aspects of their lives, and it’s very sweet to see."

Their presence at Coachella didn't go unnoticed, as Taylor and Travis immersed themselves in the festival spirit, embracing the music, the vibe, and each other.

Another source added, "Travis has always loved going to Coachella, and having Taylor by his side made it all the better. The happy couple enjoyed the weekend’s festivities, supporting Taylor’s famous friends during their live sets. The two are continuing to explore their relationship by supporting each other’s endeavors and doing what every other couple does, and that’s go on dates. This is one of many adventures yet to come for the duo."

'The Alchemy' and 'So High School'

When Taylor dropped her 11th studio album on April 19,  The Tortured Poets Department , fans were delighted to find a love song chock full of football references, with many speculating it may have been inspired by her romance with Travis.

"So when I touch down / Call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown / Baby, I'm the one to be / 'Cause the sign on your heart / Said it's still reserved for me / Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy," Swift sings on the chorus.

In the bridge, Taylor appears to reference a huge win -- not unlike the  Kansas City Chiefs' numerous victories on their way to Super Bowl LVIII .

"Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin' to the floor, cheers chanted 'cause they said / 'There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league' / Where's the trophy? He just comes, running over to me," she declares.

There's also a cheeky map reference in the first verse,  which could be a callback  to the early days of her relationship with Travis.

Observant Swifties also speculated that a few of Travis' family members were also been graced with lyrical shout-outs -- including Travis' dad, Ed Kelce.

On "So High School," she sings about the joy of a new romance that has her  feeling like a teenager . The lyrics hint at a lover with a wicked sense of humor, not unlike her current boyfriend.

"I feel like laughing in the middle of practice again / To that impression you did of your dad again," she sings on the song's second verse. For his part, Travis has been known to deliver impressions of his dad, Ed, on his podcast,  New Heights .

On the song's chorus, Taylor declares, "And in the blink of a crinkling eye / I'm sinking, our fingers entwined / Cheeks pink in the twinkling lights / Tell me about the first time you saw me / I'll drink what you think and I'm high / From smoking your jokes all damn night / The brink of a wrinkle in time / Bittersweet 16 suddenly."
