2022 Jeep Renegade Owners Manual - Trip Computer

Trip computer.

The Trip computer is used to display information on car operation when the key is turned to the RUN position.

This function allows you to define two separate trips called “Trip A” and “Trip B” where the car's “complete trips” are monitored in an independent manner.

Both trips can be reset (reset - start of a new trip). To perform a reset, push and hold the  OK  button on the steering wheel controls.

“Trip A” and “Trip B” are used to display the figures relating to:

Distance Traveled

Average Consumption

Travel Time (driving time)

Quantities Displayed

Indicates the distance traveled by the start of the new trip.

Represents the average fuel consumption since the start of the new trip.

Travel Time

Elapsed time since the start of the new trip.

Short Push Of The Button: display of various parameters.

Long Push Of The Button: reset quantities and begin a new trip.

Starts after reset:

“Manual” by pushing the  OK  button.

“Automatic” when the “distance” reaches the value of 62140 (99999.9 km) or when the “time travel” reaches the value of 999.59 (999 hours and 59 minutes).

After each disconnection and reconnection of the battery.

How to Reset Trip Odometer

I have a rental 2014 GC Limited with the 8.4 system. I have been through the owners manual in the glove box and just sat for 15 minutes in the vehicle trying to figure out how to reset the trip odometer. A basic function like this shouldn't be so difficult, unless I'm missing something obvious. How do I reset it? I've searched this forum and came up with nothing.  

If you look at the EVIC, it says press and hold OK to reset trip odo. So, you can switch to the trip you want to reset (trip A or B), then hold OK until it resets.  

Thanks, it was oh so obvious that I didn't see it. Wondering, how do I turn off the horn when setting the alarm. I have that feature disabled on my '05 Ram and '08 Charger. The limited print manual I have doesn't address the issue.  

Don't know. Since most 2014 JGCs have the "double-press" (requires two button-pressing) or "triple-press" issue, I think it's better to leave the horn on. Otherwise you might think the alarm is set but actually it was not.

How to disable Trip Computer no2

Hello everyone! First of all it's nice to meet you all and it's good to be here. I'm a new owner of a Latitude (EU) Renegade Diesel 1,6 and a new member of this forum! My first thread and post is a question: I read in the manual that the second trip computer (TRIP2) can be disabled. But it doesnt say how... Generally speaking the owner's manual does seem a little insufficient... Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance!  

Don't know. With my U.S.A. Trailhawk, the "B" trip computer can be reset back to mile 0, but can't be disabled.  

please help this is driving me crazy!!!! How do you reset it back to zero for either trip? I tried I really did. I saw the press and hold to reset but that only resets mpg and how time but not the bottom trip. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That seems to be reset to zero. Dist. mi at the top is the trip miles. The bottom figure it total since new I think.  

It looks reset. You can't reset the total mileage.

Don't feel bad. It's a way done different layout than my last car and I had to do some figuring out.  

Use the controls on the left front of steering wheel. The up arrow scrolls to the different screens. Once on that screen press and hold ok button till it resets Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk  

Even with handbooks, this particular vehicle seems to have more "extra" settings in odd places than anything I've ever owned! LOVE my car, but I'm still learning it, and vice versa. For example some things being set "in" the radio and others on the dash/steering wheel. MUCH to learn, will take me awhile and I just went over 1000 miles at about the 1 month mark.  

My E38 7 series BMW had more kit and toys than my Renegade and I had that about a decade back. I only have a mid range Longitude spec model. The function to change the menu between the speedometer and tachometer is a basic function and covered in the owner handbook, which is what I was getting at.  

Agreed on the handbook! And, coming from a Jeep Liberty and similar, no arguments with your statement at all! Just that "casual" driving will reveal that there's MANY things needing customizing in this, and many questions like this will surface here. I'll probably run into more myself, and I've been driving "RJ" or "Red" or "JC" (can't decide on car name) for nearly a month!
