The band will play two headline shows in addition to their Splendour set and support slots for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The night after their Melbourne show with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on July 20, the band will take to Melbourne’s Howler for an intimate preview of their forthcoming debut album. They’ll do the same at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory the following Monday (July 25), the night after they open for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Hordern Pavilion.

Sandwiched between those four dates will be their set at Splendour In The Grass, where they’ll play on July 22. Tickets to the festival are sold out, but Wet Leg’s headline shows go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (March 11), with a pre-sale kicking off a day earlier. Tickets to their shows with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are on sale now .

Wet Leg’s self-titled debut album will be out on April 8 via Domino. In addition to their hit ‘Chaise Longue’ – which came in at Number 45 on triple j’s Hottest 100 for 2021 – the album features singles ‘Wet Dream’, ‘Too Late Now’ , ‘Oh No’ and ‘Angelica’ .

NME featured the album in its list of records to look forward to in 2022 , with writer Rhian Daly saying: “Once in a blue moon, a seemingly perfect new band just appears out of nowhere. In 2021, that band was Wet Leg, who struck gold four times with early singles and, now, are ready to follow that up with a full album.

“Expect lyrics dripping in dry humour, wiry post-punk riffs and hints of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Le Tigre, Violent Femmes and more to make their debut sparkle.”

The band were also featured in this year’s NME 100 . “Fun might not always be considered the ‘coolest’ thing in some music circles, but Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers’ brand of innuendo-filled absurdity sticks two fingers up at anyone who cares about such a notion,” Daly said of the duo.

Last month saw Wet Leg share a cover of Ronan Keating‘s ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ . They covered the former Boyzone singer’s 2000 single for a new Apple Music Home Session , with Teasdale saying: “It’s been such a whirlwind for us as a band, so I think we chose to cover ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ just because we felt like we could relate to the sentiment of it.”

Wet Leg’s 2022 Australian tour dates are:

JULY Wednesday 20 – Melbourne, Margaret Court Arena (w/ Yeah Yeah Yeahs) Thursday 21 – Melbourne, Howler Friday 22 – Byron Bay, Splendour In The Grass Sunday 24 – Sydney, Hordern Pavilion (w/ Yeah Yeah Yeahs) Monday 25 – Sydney, Oxford Art Factory

The iconic New York trio enlist the bright young British duo to support

The Splendour In The Grass sideshows have been announced today, meaning that those who aren't able to make it to the festival to enjoy its incredible line-up in full can start planning what they can see when artists make it to their town.

One of the most appealing sideshows of the lot is the long-awaited return to Australia from New York trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs .

As one of the key bands in the indie-rock explosion that came out of the Big Apple in the early 2000s, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have served as a huge influence on so many great artists over the past two decades.

Australia has always loved the band and they were frequent visitors for a while there. This year's trip, however, will be their first since playing the 2013 Big Day Out .

When Karen O spoke to Double J back in 2019, she revealed that the band were working on new music that we might be able to hear when they are back in the country. That music is yet to materialise: will it be ready by mid-year?

One band we know will have a new record by then are the brilliant Wet Leg , who visit Australia for the first time for Splendour and will join Yeah Yeah Yeahs at these massive arena shows as well.

The Isle of Wight duo crashed into the Hottest 100 this year with their irresistible jam 'Chaise Longue' and the follow up tracks have proved just as exciting . Their debut self-titled album is out Friday 8 April.

Learn more about them here .

Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Wet Leg play the following dates.

British indie-rockers wet leg announce intimate melbourne gig at howler.

Wet Leg

Isle of Wight's band of the moment, Wet Leg, are playing a headline sideshow gig at Howler when they come to Australia for Splendour In The Grass.

“Would you like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?”

The ‘Chaise Longue’ viral hitters are going to play two gigs in Melbourne: one at Margaret Court Arena in support of Yeah Yeah Yeahs that was announced a few weeks ago, and today they’ve confirmed they’ll play a headline gig at Howler in Brunswick. They’ll also play a headline show at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews  here .

Hailing from the Isle of Wight, Wet Leg (the duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers) were formed in ‘a moment of drunken clarity’ back in 2019, while perched at the summit of a Ferris wheel.

They’ve since released a string of singles including ‘Chaise Longue’ ,   ‘ Wet Dream’ ,   ‘ Too Late Now’ ,   ‘ Oh No’   and new single  ‘ Angelica’ , the first of which has gained significant viral success, showcasing the band’s quirky lyricism, with influences ranging from Pierre Bachelet, the Ronettes, and Jane Birkin through to Best Coast, The Strokes and the B52s.

Live Review : Wet Leg Wind Up Aussie Tour in Sydney

wet leg australian tour

OXFORD ART FACTORY, SYDNEY

Monday, july 25 2022.

There was a real end of term/end of tour feel to this gig which closed the short, occasionally mud-encrusted, but joyous first visit of the Isle of Wight’s second most famous (but easily cooler than Level 42) band.

It wasn’t sloppy, but it was certainly relaxed and peppered with in-jokes and on-stage amusement, often directed at drummer Henry Holmes. He, incidentally, along with fellow longhairs, bass player Ellis Durand and guitarist/synth player Josh Mobaraki, looked like they had been picked up locally by main Leggers, Rhiann Teasdale and Hester Chambers, sourced from a mix of Perth’s psych scene and Sydney’s northern beaches stoners.

Outwardly, between-song conversation with the audience was rare and brief, but when it happened you would have been excused for thinking there’d been something, ahem, herbal pre-show. In the second half of the set, principal vocalist Teasdale announced, enunciating very carefully, “I’m just going to take a moment to tie my shoelace”. Which she did. Even funnier, a friend leaned over to me and predicted “that will be the first line to their next single”, and not only do I reckon he is not wrong, I’d buy it.

And when the originals ran out – with only one album behind them and short songs aplenty, the show only just made it to the one-hour mark – but the crowd were chanting for one more, Wet Leg launched into a hectic cover of 'Smoko' from piss-taking/piss-sinking Sunshine Coast pop/punkers The Chats, leading a universal chanting of the chorus “I’m on smoko, so leave me alone” .

There was something sweet about it all, which only emphasised how the dryly-delivered, attitude-plus manner of the record was, in the flesh, more like a gas than sass. Thanks to Holmes and Durand’s knock-kneed swing there was some genuine sultriness in the busy 'Wet Dream', Teasdale’s and Chambers’ guitars played 'Oh No' like it was fuzzy Japanese pop, 'Angelica' was properly snake-hipped, and the glowing hum of 'Ur Mum' had its spikiness delivered with a rounded point (even the mass scream was one long giggle) so the almost insolent tenor we already knew was blurrier, almost honeyed.

On the other hand, some songs which on the album which felt thick-waisted and regulation, such as 'Supermarket' and 'Loving You', came across as building up from a solid base rather than being a premature stab at “maturity”. While not as sparky as the effervescent singles they at least felt more native-to-the-band on stage.

As the financial commentators like to say, it’s still early days with this offshore stock and while there’s a fair bit of growth potential built into Wet Leg, you’d be wise not to expect consistent return on investment, even across one hour. But when the bouncing/grinning/kick-up-your-footsie index of set-closer, 'Chaise Longue', pays dividends like it did once again here, you’d want to keep this band in your portfolio.

Live review: wet leg at the lansdowne, sydney 15.07.2022.

Deb Pelser

Social media delivered two lots of news to Australian music lovers on Friday, firstly the bad news that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs had cancelled their tour downunder, including their performance at Splendour in the Grass and then the unexpected good news that Wet Leg , who were due to be supporting the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at their Hordern Pavilion show, were doing a ‘ secret’ gig at the Landsdowne pub in Sydney. It was a not-so-secret gig as it turns out. Fans were able to RSVP for the show, but this did not guarantee entry…

With the doors of the pub due to open at 5pm, I arrive at the venue together with what seems to be a thousand other hopeful punters. The queue to get in snakes around the pub and down the street. It is a cold Sydney evening and a girl in front of me is wearing a glittery, mini dress with no jersey, she is shivering as we wait and anxiously try to calculate how many people there are waiting in the line and how many have been allowed into the pub by security. Apparently the pub can accommodate 250 people. It’s a nerve wracking arithmetical nightmare, as we painstakingly make our way to the front of the line, praying that the pub will not hit capacity before we are allowed into its warm and welcoming environ.

Sure enough, that’s exactly what happens! The very genial and friendly security staff announce that capacity has been reached just when I am third in line to get in. The girl in the summer mini dress leaves. I decide to stay with some other diehard fans because security has promised to allow fans into the venue in exchange for anyone leaving the pub. I am not very optimistic about this state of affairs because who in their right mind is going to leave such a sought after gig? As we shiver in the cold, a PR person comes outside to meet local celebrity, Dr Karl who, to my surprise must be a Wet Leg fan. He obviously has brains and good taste! Dr Karl arrives and is ushered into the Lansdowne as we forlornly look on.

Then, just as the shivering group outside is about to lose hope, the security guards announce that they are allowing 15 people in! I estimate that there are still at least 50 people in the queue behind me. The now delighted dirty dozen start high fiving and scuttle into the pub like rats leaving the Titanic or more aptly like a bunch of teenagers rushing into a Beatles concert.

wet leg australian tour

By this time, the pub is packed to, well, capacity and it is heaving with excitement. People are standing on the counter to catch a glimpse of Wet Leg. The bartenders are dancing as they serve the patrons, looks of glee on their faces – happy to be working and witnessing a bit of history tonight. I am right at the back and am basically unable to see the band at all. But that’s a good thing as I can focus on the music.

To be honest, I have been skeptical about the hype surrounding the band. But, as soon as they start blasting out their songs in this packed sweaty bar I realise that they are the real deal . It doesn’t take long before everyone is wildly dancing along. Wet Leg have the uncanny knack of being able to infuse melodic, yet somewhat discordant, earworms into their punchy indie rock, it’s a heavenly mix. There is little banter from the band, as they scorch through the playlist, by the time they reach their breakout hit ‘ Chaise Longue ‘ there is a feeling of bliss in the room that only music can induce. It washes over the crowd like a warm and loving embrace. I look around and there are smiling faces everywhere as people join the band in singing “I got the big D”.

And then, suddenly Wet Leg are gone and George Michael’s ‘ Careless Whisper ‘ is played over the PA. It is oddly apt that the band end their set with this anthem from an artist who produced a catalogue of perfect pop songs as part of a duo. Based on tonight’s performance I cannot help but feel that similar superstardom awaits Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers.

Wet Leg definitely live up to the hype – they are one of the most exciting live acts on the planet right now. Combining acerbic lyrics with irresistible hooks they are a must-see. Australian fans do whatever you need to, sell the house if you have to, but make sure that you see them whilst they visit our shores.

Wet Leg Review – A Night Sydney Fans Won’t Take For Granted

By David James Young

It says a lot about Wet Leg that they were able to recruit artists entirely capable of filling out the Oxford Art Factory in their own right as support acts. The Buoys warmed up the crowd on the second night of Wet Leg’s stint in Sydney, and the band’s songwriting chops and on-stage chemistry were on proud display throughout the half-hour performance.

The Buoys’ Hottest 100-charting ‘Lie To Me Again’ prompted the first of many sing-alongs for the evening, while the urgent new single ‘Red Flags’ and the thrashing kiss-off, ‘Bad Habit’, were equally impactful. The foursome’s on-stage chemistry was apparent in all the little things – the way front person Zoe Catterall locked horns with bassist Courtney Cunningham as the instrumentals rode out, and how everyone gave a wide berth to lead guitarist Hilary Geddes to spotlight one of her unmistakable, shit-hot guitar solos. A kind of magic.

AUSTRALIA, WE ARE IN YOU ? pic.twitter.com/az6uX3U2s7 — Wet Leg (@wetlegband) July 21, 2022

After years of seated shows and reduced capacity, this felt like a return to the days of old for Oxford Art Factory. You couldn’t have fit another body in the room with a crowbar, and it was all to catch a glimpse of one of the biggest prospects in indie rock right now.

This was Wet Leg’s final night on an Australian tour that began with a now-legendary front-bar show at the Lansdowne, which saw hundreds – if not thousands – of folks lining up all afternoon to get amongst it. The band were fresh from the aborted day one of Splendour in the Grass , which saw them take to the stage at the nearby Brunswick Picture House for a last-minute show instead, as well as an appearance on triple j’s  Like A Version.

The UK band’s co-leaders, singer Rhian Teasdale and lead guitarist Hester Chambers, are both timid and softly-spoken, but performing the songs from their eponymous debut sparked something within them. Bolstered by their three-piece backing band, the duo fed off the sold-out crowd’s energy – be that via some extra hip movement when singing of “touching yourself” during ‘Wet Dream’, or grinning madly at the makeshift “yeah yeah yeah” choir assembled during the chorus of ‘Supermarket’.

It could have all ended with a rambunctious run-through of the band’s signature song ‘Chaise Lounge’. The crowd bellowed “WHAT?” back at Teasdale when she asked “Excuse me?”, and the hand claps along with Henry Holmes’ kick drum felt like a football stadium had come to life.

For one thing, they’d run out of material – including two previously-unreleased tracks, ‘I Wanna Be Abducted By A UFO’ and ‘Obvious’, we literally heard the entire discography. So, imagine the surprise when the band returned for one last song: their take on The Chats’ ‘Smoko’. With her own set of speed-dealers on, Teasdale’s deadpan delivery of Eamon Sandwith’s ode to the mandated work break was simultaneously hilarious and triumphant.

As George Michael’s ‘Careless Whisper’ blasted over the PA and the room slowly emptied, there was a collective understanding of just how special the night had been. We’ll never see the Isle Of Wight twosome in a venue this small again – their next visit is already booked, supporting Harry Styles next year on his stadium tour . But regardless of what happens next in Wet Leg’s career, this felt like a major “I was there” moment. Were you?

Wet Leg: Harry Styles tour support act and Grammy winners Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers

Headshot of Simon Collins

Wet Leg were celebrating at their afterparty for the UK’s biggest music gongs, collecting two Brit Awards hot on the heels of winning a pair of Grammys, when a bloke sidled up to lead singer and guitarist Rhian Teasdale.

“Do you feel marginalised?” he sneered at Teasdale, one half of the Isle of Wight duo she formed with music college chum Hester Chambers.

“And then he told me I was toxic,” she adds.

The put-down was apparently in reaction to Teasdale giving a shout-out to “all the strong women” working on the BRITs ceremony.

Journalism for the curious Australian across politics, business, culture and opinion.

“I was so shocked, then our friend kicked him out,” she laughs during a chat (and rowdy photoshoot leaping off chaise lounges in honour of their 2021 hit single, Chaise Longue) at the Regal Theatre in Subiaco on the morning of their first Australian performance supporting Harry Styles.

The English pop prince, who played HBF Park on February 20 , had plenty to say himself about gender equity at the 2023 BRITs, telling the audience he was “aware of his privilege” after no female or non-binary acts were nominated for best artist. (For the first time the award was gender-neutral, rather than having separate male and female categories.)

“He’s a very softly spoken guy,” Teasdale says. “I wonder if he had any backlash from that?

“That’s something that we’ve experienced when we did something as simple as thanking all the strong women that work with us. Immediately, you get called a ‘man-hater’,” she continues. “No, we love men, it’s just really time to bring the women up.”

Styles is obviously an ally, having handpicked Wet Leg to join him on the Australasia leg of his world tour. The duo, which performs live as a quintet with bassist Ellis Durand, drummer Henry Holmes and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Omead Mobaraki, also played three Los Angeles concerts with Styles in late January.

“He could have had anybody supporting him, so it’s very surreal but very nice,” the quietly spoken Chambers says.

“It’s obviously a massive opportunity because he has such a huge audience and they’re very passionate about his music.”

Wet Leg had an inkling that Styles was going to cover their single Wet Dream, the highlight of their self-titled debut album unveiled in April last year, as part of his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session last year.

The indie rock duo have taken the world by storm with their infectious debut single Chaise Longue.

“Our manager mentioned that it might happen, and we were like ‘Yeah?’ It’s one of those things that you …” Teasdale says before Chambers completes her sentence, “believe it when you see it.”

One of the biggest names in pop music covering your song is one of several surreal moments for Wet Leg, which only played a handful of live shows before heading in to record their debut album with producer Dan Carey (Grimes, Fontaines D.C.) two years ago.

Mean Girls-quoting, French furniture-inspired “accidental” hit single Chaise Longue was unveiled in June, 2021. Three minutes and 16 seconds of driving post-rock guitars and deadpan call and response vocals (“Would you like to assign someone to butter your muffin? Excuse me? What?”) went “viral”, as they say, and put the Isle of Wight band on the map.

Teasdale, who worked as a wardrobe assistant for TV commercials and music videos in London before Wet Leg kicked off, said the first pinch-me moment was “probably realising that we couldn’t do our jobs anymore, it was quite weird”.

Surely, that was nothing compared to receiving five nominations at the Grammy Awards, then winning two — best alternative music performance for Chaise Longue and best alternative music album for Wet Leg.

When quizzed on their Grammys experience earlier this month, and told not to use their usual in-joke response of “magical”, Teasdale and Chambers go for “not possible”, “sensational” and “an extravaganza”.

After a huge pause, Chambers offers a more studious answer. “Being in the same room as Beyonce,” she says. “I didn’t think that would happen but there she was, glowing away, like a real human.”

The Grammy and BRIT Awards winners hail from the Isle of Wight.

“She’s a goddess,” offers Teasdale, who didn’t believe it when Wet Leg won their first Grammy. “Oh no, that’s embarrassing, they’ve read out the wrong name.”

The BRITS were a different kettle of fish given that the band were performing Chaise Longue, complete with dancers dressed as Morris dancers and giant animals.

Teasdale explains that they spent some of their Christmas holidays concocting the appropriately quirky extravaganza with their friend Lava La Rue, who directed the Napoleon Dynamite-inspired video for latest single Ur Mum.

Given Wet Leg have self-directed four of their six surreal music videos, Teasdale says it was good to get creative after spending most of the past year or so on tour.

“The music is important and everything that goes with it is important to us too, and we haven’t had the time to do that,” she says, describing the BRITs performance as the Wet Leg aesthetic but blown up.

Another thing that blew up was Teasdale’s comments after claiming the award for best new artist.

The cheeky singer quoted Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner’s speech from 2014 when the Sheffield rockers won album of the year.

“That rock and roll. It just won’t go away,” she said.

“It’s so funny,” Teasdale says at the Regal Theatre. “I didn’t realise that the Arctic Monkeys is a cult and now I’ve got Arctic Monkeys people after me.”

In a good way? “No … they’re trying to bring me down,” she laughs. “It’s fine. I may have ruffled a few feathers.

“It’s really important to laugh at that otherwise it would be really stressful. We troll the Arctic Monkeys fans and we troll the Grammys people … to make it fun, otherwise what’s the point?”

Wet Leg have brought a lot of fun back to indie rock, with Chambers claiming there’s “no rules” and “you can do what you like” as long as it’s “not malicious or hateful”.

“It’s about pleasing yourself,” Teasdale continues. “That’s the most important thing. Music is so self-indulgent, you might as well, like, really self-indulge. Just say stuff that makes you laugh.”

That can backfire. After coming off stage from their homecoming set at last year’s Isle of Wight Festival, the band told a radio jock that their second album was “in the bag”.

Turns out, they were trolling. The pair descend into giggles when probed on the making of what will be a much-anticipated follow-up.

“We’re lying. We haven’t started it,” Teasdale winks. “Or are we lying?”

“To be honest,” Chambers chimes in. “I think it stemmed from this one interview we had five minutes after we came off stage and we were feeling the euphoria of playing live.

“You get off-stage and have adrenaline and I think we were in this funny place where we were asked about the second album, and we went ‘Oh, we’ve completed it’.

“Some publications ran with that as the truth …”

Trolling aside, Wet Leg have built up quite the list of famous fans. Beyond Styles, Pearl Jam and others covering their songs, the likes of Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon, Robbie Williams and members of Talking Heads have expressed their admiration.

Who would Wet Leg love to get on their chaise lounge for a collaboration?

“I was thinking about this the other day,” Teasdale teases. “How about, hear me out, ABBA. But we get to be holograms too.”

Chambers swoons at the idea of a virtual Wet Leg joining the ABBA Voyager shows starring holograms of the Swedish legends, adding that the band have the “uplifting ritual” of playing Dancing Queen right before going on stage.

“I can’t wait to make ourselves into holograms,” Teasdale muses, “then we can stay home drinking tea.”

The “Vampire” singer is currently in the midst of her trek’s European leg, which began April 30 in Dublin. It follows her initial run of shows in North America, which featured stops in Palm Springs, Calif., New York City, Toronto and more cities.

“europe leg of the GUTS world tour has been wonderful so far!!!!” she wrote on Instagram following the new announcement, sharing photos from her past performances. “so much luv for everyone who has been coming 2 jump and sing and scream!!! Asia and Australia dates just announced!!! hope to see ya there!!!”

The news comes just a few days after Rodrigo was forced to postponed her show in Manchester planned for Friday (May 3) due to technical difficulties at the Co-Op Live arena. “I’m sooooo disappointed that we’re unable to perform in Manchester due to on-going venue-related technical issues,” she wrote on her Story at the time. “I’m so bummed and I really hope to see you all soon.”

Olivia Rodrigo Adds Asia and Australia Legs to Guts World Tour

Olivia Rodrigo at the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Red Carpet held at the Microsoft Theatre on November 5, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.

Olivia Rodrigo will tour Asia and Australia for the first time in her career, the singer announced Wednesday. Rodrigo has added nine international dates to her massive “ Guts ” world tour for a total of 82 shows globally.

The new dates kick off Sept. 16 in Bangkok, Thailand and continue through Seoul, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Melbourne, and Sydney, wrapping up on Oct. 19 at Qudos Bank Arena. Additional dates may be added as Rodrigo wrote on social media, “Stay tuned, Manila!” Fans in the comment sections of her social posts are eager to hear when and if Rodrigo will also be adding Latin American dates to the trek but that has yet to be confirmed.

Popular on Variety

The “Guts” tour has since made stops in New York, Houston and Dublin, and will make its way towards London in the coming weeks. It will conclude on Oct. 18 in Sydney.

Tickets for the newly added Asia and Australia dates will be available starting with the American Express presale in select markets.

Rodrigo performed “Vampire” and “Get Him Back!” at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Tuesday night, following Lil Wayne as the second performer of the evening. It was her second-ever appearance at the show as Rodrigo made her VMAs debut in 2021 when she performed her Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Good 4 U.”

“Guts” was released to high acclaim on Sept. 8 via Geffen Records and was preceded by two top 10 singles, “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” “Vampire” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Rodrigo the youngest artist to debut three No. 1 hits on the chart behind “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U.”

In an interview with Capital FM in England , Rodrigo said she wrote much of the songs on “Guts” with the concept of an accompanying tour “in mind.”

“I think there’s a lot of fun songs,” she said. “I wrote the album with a tour in mind, so I think they’re all songs I wanted people to be able to scream in a crowd. Hopefully, that’s what’s achieved.” A similar teaser — in the form of a faux ticket advertising “Olivia Rodrigo: Guts The World Tour” — appeared in a lyric video for “Making the Bed,” the sixth track off “Guts.”

Rodrigo last toured North America and Europe in support of her debut album “Sour” in 2022. It started on April 5 in Portland and ended on July 7 in London. Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone, Chappell Roan and Baby Queen served as opening acts.

Olivia Rodrigo 2024 GUTS Asia and Australia tour: Dates, venues, and all we know so far

O livia Rodrigo has revealed new dates for her GUTS World Tour in Asia and Australia. The Good 4 u singer thanked fans for the "wonderful" response to her European leg of the musical trek on Instagram this Wednesday, and shared the dates for the fall leg, which begins on September 16.

The three-time Grammy-winning singer has been touring across North America and Europe since February 23, 2024, in support of her album, GUTS . The second studio album of Olivia's career, GUTS , came out last year in September.

The Asian leg of the tour includes one headlining performance each in Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. The singer has also hinted to fans in Manila to stay tuned, presumably, for a "yet-to-be-announced" date.

Australian fans, on the other hand, can look forward to Olivia performing two shows each in Melbourne and Sydney.

Everything we know so far about Olivia Rodrigo 2024 GUTS Asia and Australia Tour

The Asian leg of Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS World Tour begins at Bangkok's Impact Arena and will be wrapped up at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. While in Australia, the singer will take over Melbourne's ROD Laver Arena for two shows, before wrapping up the Australian leg of the outing at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena.

The confirmed dates and venues of the Asian and Australian legs of the GUTS World Tour are:

  • September 16 – Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand
  • September 20 – Jamsil Arena, Seoul, South Korea
  • September 24 – Asiaworld-Arena, Hong Kong
  • September 27 - Ariake Arena, Tokyo, Japan
  • October 1 – Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore
  • October 9 & 11 – ROD Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia
  • October 17 & 18 – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney, Australia

The dates for the presale and general sale of tickets for the Asian and Australian leg are yet to be announced. Once tickets go live, fans can book them through the American Express presale and local ticketing channels in the respective regions.

Olivia Rodrigo has confirmed that she will be supported by singer Benee on all four dates across Australia. Originating from New Zealand, Benee debuted in 2017 with the hit single Tough Guy . Apart from Benee, Olivia has previously been supported by artists like The Breeders, Chappell Roan, Remi Wolf, and Alanis Morissette, among others.

The fall outing will be the first time Olivia Rodrigo tours through Asia and Australia, ever since her debut in 2021. The Happier singer is currently in the middle of the European leg of the GUTS World Tour that began on April 30. Singer Remi Wolf is supporting and opening for Olivia on all 29 dates of the European leg.

While the tour started strong with performances at Dublin's 3Arena and Glasgow's OVO Hydro, it met with obstacles last week at Manchester's Co-Op Live. The singer was forced to postpone two performances at the Manchester venue following technical issues. As she shared her disappointment with fans, Olivia Rodrigo reassured everyone that the two shows would be rescheduled soon.

Olivia Rodrigo released GUTS last fall on September 8, 2023. The 12-track album came on the head of hit singles Bad Idea Right? and Vampire . While Vampire went on to reign at the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100, Bad Idea Right? surpassed the mark of 36 million views on YouTube.

The album includes ten other tracks - All‐American Bit*h , Lacy , Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl , Making the Bed , Logical , Get Him Back! , Love is Embarrassing , The Grudge , Pretty isn't Pretty , and Teenage Dream.
