Stay on the beautiful Lancaster Canal, a peaceful haven offering 41 miles of lock free cruising, surrounded by wildlife and wonderful walks in the Lancashire countryside.

One of the country's few coastal canals, the gorgeous views include the Silverdale coast, forest of Bowland and Wyre countryside, as well as the historic villages, towns and cities en route, including Lancaster, Preston, Carnforth & Garstang.

Not to be missed

The Lune aqueduct is a Grade 1 listed Victorian engineering masterpiece, carrying the Lancaster Canal 53 feet above the River Lune, designed by John Rennie and constructed by Alexander Stevens in 1797.

THE KINGFISHER

Holding up to 60 passengers, Kingfisher is our “jewel in the crown”. The bespoke wide beam boat was built by Colecraft engineering and placed in service in October 2008. Comfortable seating at tables, modern luxurious wood interior finish, a superb bar, small dance floor and on board walk in bathroom facilities. Kingfisher is perfect for all types of gatherings whether it be corporate, social or that special occasion to mark a milestone anniversary.

Offering a small open deck at the front, main saloon with panoramic views and feature bar, Kingfishers charm is complemented by the high standard of her interior. Hot and cold catering can be arranged as can a variety of entertainment to compliment your function.

48 at table seating all with 240 volt power for computer links, additional temporary tables are also arranged for groups that are over 48 passengers. Overhead Projector and large screen as well as Multi media presentation options are available. Surround sound music and PA system for hosting and announcements.

All cruises on Kingfisher are attended by a fully accredited Boat master and crew to look after your needs whilst on board.

The Jungle Queen is designed to cater for parties of up to 47 people and is the perfect solution for hosting a variety of events. Our team has been running cruises up and down the Lancaster Canal for the past 15 years and understand what makes a great cruise. Whether it's a trip to view the scenery, to educate or just to party, the Jungle Queen is a venue that you'll never forget. Our crew are friendly, helpful and aim to make it a day to remember. 

'Ever wanted to sail a canal barge?' Here's your chance, our captains welcome any budding sailors what ever the age. When it comes to organising your event we'll be as involved as you want us to be. We tailor each of our private cruises to suit your individual needs. If you'd like us to decorate we will, if you need it to be a surprise, no problem. Even if you fancy something totally out of the norm, just ask and we will try our best to make it happen.    

The plush décor and spacious feel of the Jungle Queen makes it ideal for any party size up to its maximum of 48 passengers . Inside the layout is designed with a large open floor space, high ceilings and adequate seating making it comfortable for everyone. There's easy access to both the bow and stern decks with seating and standing area on both for several passengers. 

Large windows run down both the port and starboard sides of the barge so you can make the most of the fantastic scenery as the cruise takes you through the idyllic countryside. The barge has full central heating for the colder days, hot and cold water and modern toilets that never fail to impress.      

We are associated with and based next to the Olde Duncombe House B&B, Garstang Road, Bilsborrow, PR3 0RE. You are more than welcome to pay us a visit at any time ( call to arrange ) if you wish to look around the Jungle Queen or discuss arrangements etc. Why not popdown and try one of our scheduled cruises running from Guys Thatched Hamlet every Saturday and Sunday between 12pm ans 2pm ( call to book in advance )

Perfect Day

Absolutely fabulous. My second trip but this time with my partner David. The food and drink was magnificent. Beautiful produce and so plentiful Mark was so knowledgeable and professional. It was the ideal day out. Thank you so much. We can highly recommend. Lynne and David.

Really enjoyed the trip down the canal . It was enhanced by Mark's friendly relaxed manner,his knowledge and superb commentary throughout.

Would a 100% recommend. From start to end the communication was brillant. It was lovely and clean. Plenty of drinks to choose from. We had ordered fish and chips to eat half way on our journey. Which was beautiful. They had music playing for us and also asked if we had any requests. The day was just perfect. There was 15 of us and was plenty of room for us all. Can't thank you enough.

Quality Santa. Each child got a gift. Drinks and treat available to purchase. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to see santa NOT in a grotto. Something a little bit different. Short and sweet with friendly staff.

Fabulous Sunday evening Hot Pot Cruise on May 1st enjoyed by my partner, his mother and myself. The food was delicious as was the glass of wy. It was so nice to dine while cruising through beautiful countryside. The commentary was very interesting too. We highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful time and Mark was a fantastic host. My 7 year old loved helping sail the boat. Thank you!!!

Holly, on the admin side was brilliant and was so accommodating. She helped me so much and understood that I needed to change my date. The overall experience was beyond brilliant. Thank you all so much!

A really nice assortment of cakes, chocolate, battenburg, fruit tart, scones cream and jam. plenty of fresh fruit, strawberries, raspberries, tangerine. Unlimited tea, with juice and a wine for the non driver. A very nice journey circa 2 hours, very informative about the area and it's history, learned so much.

Had a wonderful afternoon, the last trip before lock down 2. Greeted really well by our captain and host. Everything explained by really well. Plenty of food and really fresh. Beef chicken and cheese sandwiches, gerkins and tomatoes.

Lovely afternoon tea cruise along the canal. Mark was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this.

It helped that it was a beautiful sunny day. The skipper, Mark was very insightful giving us a talk on the local history of the canal as we made our way to Burscough Wharf and back again.

Just got back from an amazing cruise with afternoon tea with this company. The food was lovely and fresh! The skipper, Mark was lovely and professional! He was so naturally friendly and explained everything about the history of barges and the area. He was so knowledgeable. The cruise itself was beautiful and relaxing.

What a wonderful experience! Mark was such a great host, very kind and helpful. We miss our trip because of car crash on the road, he not only accommodate us on the next trip but he make us fresh afternoon tea and he place us in the best part of the boat! I can’t explain what a wonderful people and what a experience we had ! Truly amazing! Definitely try for yourself !!! Thank you Mark! See you soon!
