Caribe Tours estrena división "Conoce tu País"

La nueva empresa operadora turística ofrecerá rutas y excursiones personalizadas

Durante un encuentro en la terminal principal, Caribe Tours presentó “ Conoce tu País ”, una nueva empresa operadora turística que ofrecerá rutas y excursiones personalizadas hacia  escenarios geográficos, históricos y culturales de República Dominicana.

Esta división de tour operador  pone a disposición del público local e internacional las excursiones personalizadas, con con características particulares, entre ellas se destaca la ruta denominada “Sueños de la Isla – Cabrera y Río San Juan” , la cual invita a descubrir los  secretos guardados en las incomparables playas y lagunas de esta singular localidad, dijo la  directora de “ Conoce tu País ”, Katty Valdez.

También la ruta  “Encantos de Montecristi” es otra de las rutas que será un espectáculo visual para el deleite y disfrute de los excursionistas, porque exhibe lo que esconde en su interior,  superando las expectativas de los visitantes; y las “Maravillas de Puerto Plata ”, que  es una propuesta que invita a recorrer la belleza física y tradución de la Novia del Atlántico.

La ruta “Tabaco y Ron”,  ideal para los aventureros y aficionados de los aromas y sabores, que recorrerá diversas zonas del Este y de Santiago ; mientras que   “Samaná Imperdible” busca mostrar la solidaridad, la autenticidad, la alegría y el ingenio de su gente, convirtiéndose en su principal riqueza y motivo de orgullo.

La Región Sur también tiene sus destinos que están bajo el nombre de “Delicias de mi Tierra – Barahona y Pedernales”, que será un recorrido por dos provincias dominicanas para disfrutar de sus playas y montañas orladas por espumas que, bajo un sol ardiente, se mecen con el viento, dijo la ejecutiva.

Caribe Tour se integra a fase 2 con estrictas medidas de seguridad

Con el reinicio de las operaciones para los transportes interurbanos, incluidos en la fase 2 de la apertura a la economía, los autobuses de Caribe Tour iniciaron este jueves sus rutas habituales hacia el interior del país con estrictas medidas de seguridad, que garantizan la protección de los usuarios ante la pandemia del coronavirus.

Durante una rueda de prensa, Paul Guerrero, vicepresidente ejecutivo de la empresa, dijo que “hemos cumplido con todos los protocolos de lugar a fines de que nuestros usuarios se sientan seguros, estamos higienizando y cumpliendo con los protocolos establecidos para evitar la propagación del Covid-19”.

Una de las medidas que ha establecido la empresa de autobuses es medirles la temperatura a los pasajeros a la hora de comprar su boleto, pero además es tomada nueva vez al momento de abordar, esto para evitar que personas con los síntomas del coronavirus, envíe a alguien más a comprar el boleto.

Aseguró que los pasajes se mantienen iguales, el pasaje de Santo Domingo Barahona tiene un costo de $350 pesos, La Vega $250, hacía Dajabón, Puerto Plata y Monte Cristi $400, Azua $225, así los otros destinos varían de precio pero no presentan ninguna alza.

Inmediatamente iniciaron las labores de reintegración de los autobuses hacia el interior del país, las personas se dispusieron a utilizar este medio de transporte para visitar familiares e integrarse a sus labores.

Julio Ramírez, reside en Santo Domingo pero debe viajar a San Francisco de Macorís donde permanece por 15 días, en ocasiones menos, por motivos de trabajo, pero valoró positiva la medida de reapertura del transporte “Yo estaba viajando en mi vehículo, pero lo voy a vender, y me conviene más viajar en trasporte”.

Arisvely Rosario se encontraba esperando que la llamaran para abordar una guagua hacia Sosúa Salcedo dijo que viajaría para quedarse donde su abuela porque se sentía más segura allá, además asegura que encuentra que el flujo de pasajeros esta igual que antes del coronavirus.

Guerrero comentó que, además del protocolo establecido por el Instituto Nacional del Trasporte (Intrant) ellos establecieron otras medidas que fueron aprobadas por organismo regulador del transporte “Hay un protocolo el cual Caribe Tour le suministro al Intrant, y fue aprobado, utilizamos otro tipo de metodología porque hay productos que son nocivos para la salud, por lo que decimos desinfectar con dióxido de cloro”.

Los autobuses cuentan con un sistema de purificado en el aire, por lo que podrán viajar con las ventanillas cerradas. Los baños de los autobuses también cuentan con un sistema de desinfección continúo para asegurar que cada vez que alguien los utilice queden limpios y libres de cualquier virus o bacteria.

Al subir a los autobuses, de inmediato se visualizan unos letreros de “no usar” para que las personas sepan en cuales asientos no se deben sentar, y tener el debido distanciamiento, las cuatro filas delanteras no tienen dichos letreros ya que son reservados para las familias que viajan juntas.

En el piso de la terminal, también hay señalizaciones que indican donde deben colocarse las personas para evitar el contacto cercano entre personas.

Caribe Tours cuenta con guaguas en las que se pueden abordar 54 pasajeros las más grandes, también de 50 y de 18 los minibuses.

El acto contó con las explicaciones del vicepresidente ejecutivo de Caribe Tours, Paul Guerrero y la directora de “Conoce tu País”, Katty Valdez , quien dijo que la división del tour operador nace con el compromiso de fomentar de forma innovadora y creativa el amor a la patria, la cultura y las tradiciones para motivar a conocer las bellezas naturales, la exótica gastronomía de cada zona y el cálido trato de nuestra gente.

(CNN) -- Will Smith desempolvó su traje negro y sus Ray-Ban para una actuación sorpresa en Coachella .

El actor y músico hizo una aparición durante la noche de este domingo en la actuación de J Balvin en el festival de música, cantando su éxito de 1997 “Men in Black”, de la película del mismo nombre.

Smith, quien protagonizó tres películas de “Hombres de Negro”, apareció hacia el final del set de temática extraterrestre de Balvin, luciendo la apariencia icónica que se convirtió en sinónimo de los agentes que luchan contra extraterrestres en la película.

Con extraterrestres verdes bailando de fondo, Smith cantó una parte de la melodía pegadiza y resucitó películas de baile del video musical. (La actuación de Balvin y el cameo de Smith se mostraron en la transmisión en vivo de YouTube de Coachella).

Oportunamente, Smith cerró su actuación con una referencia a la película, sacando un neuralizador que borraba la memoria y desapareciendo tan rápido como apareció. Sin embargo, esta fue una actuación que es poco probable que olviden tanto los asistentes como los transmisores en vivo.

Sublime and No Doubt submerge Coachella in 1990s nostalgia

It was a win for Southern California music at Saturday night’s Coachella , with Sublime and No Doubt winning over the audience with sets that evoked the carefree and relaxed attitude of the West Coast musical style. Ska and rock sounded from the main stage of the music festival , which receives about 100,000 people every year, although this year it appeared much less crowded. It was a day full of nostalgia for the 1990s, when these groups released their most popular albums and were propelled by MTV to international fame. For Sublime, it was their first big concert since the band’s vocalist died 28 years ago. For No Doubt, it was their first concert in nine years. The festival was all about nostalgia until Tyler, the Creator brought it back to the present, closing the second night with a conceptual number that included appearances by Childish Gambino , ASAP Rocky and Kali Uchis.

There was an emotional component to Sublime’s performance. The group attracted thousands of followers thanks to its eponymous album in 1996, which is a cult record for music fans of that decade. In addition to being the best of the band’s short three-album discography, it was released two months after the death of the Sublime frontman, the charismatic Bradley Nowell.

Despite this, tens of thousands heard Nowell’s voice on Saturday night. It came from Jakob, his only son. He recently reunited with the original members of Sublime. Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson had been playing with another vocalist for several years under the name Sublime with Rome. They have returned to being just Sublime, since December, when they played with Jakob for the first time at a bar in Los Angeles. He had been a part of a couple of groups, but his biggest project today is following in the steps of his father, who died when he was 28 years old, the same age Jakob is now. More than imitating his father’s style, festival-goers were surprised by his physical resemblance and his similar tone of voice. “This is a family affair,” Jakob said at one point during the concert.

Sublime opened with April 29, 1992 a song from the band’s most famous album that took the audience back in time. The band did a 50-minute tour of their influences. A little rock, some rap, touches of ska and a large dose of reggae. They played a version of Jailhouse , a song by Bob Marley and the Wailers, one of the main influences of the band from the coastal city of Long Beach.

Jakob Nowell has fought the same battles as his father, who died of an overdose in a hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, when Jakob was 11 months old. Nowell has battled addiction and has been sober for seven years. On Saturday, he easily filled the shoes of the father he never knew. He showed off the tattoos on his chest and played the guitar with the band members he calls his “uncles.” It was one of the defining images of Saturday’s concert. Sublime played as the sun set behind the mountains, and the last moments of the bright, golden light fell on the polo field, where the festival takes place. The group closed the set with Santeria , their best-known and highest-charting song. People screamed and asked for more songs, a difficult request to grant given the complicated logistics of festivals. The band members hugged each other on stage and Jakob told the audience: “I love you, dad. And I love each of you.”

The festival was held this year with stricter security measures. Security filters were tightened, and there were canine teams and bomb squads from the local sheriff’s office. Messages on screens told the festival-goers to report any strange behavior. But this was not able to ruin the festive atmosphere. The presence of Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, American football player Travis Kelce, was commented on by several attendees. The star couple was seen in public during the Bleachers concert, the group of Jack Antonoff, Taylor’s producer and musical genius friend (who also played with Lana Del Rey).

No Doubt injected energy into the night with their first concert since 2015. Gwen Stefani wanted to make it clear that she is in great shape. During the set, she did push-ups and climbed the metal tower where the stage lights were installed. At 54 years old, she took charge of firing up the audience and did not stop for a second. She started with Hella Good , from the album Rock Steady, which got everyone dancing. It was a beginning that highlighted many of the hits the group brought to the radio, in the era before social media. The band performed a cover of Talk Talk , It’s My Life and Hey Baby , with Stefani proving that she is still a great pop star on stage.

The Anaheim-based group bridged the gap with the younger generation midway through their set, when Stefani invited 21-year-old star Olivia Rodrigo on stage. The Drivers License singer and Grammy winner has cited No Doubt as one of her main sources of inspiration. Although somewhat nervous, Rodrigo performed the 2000 single Bathwater with her idol . The band then they did a cover of One Step Beyond, Madness’s ska classic. In case there were any doubts about the band’s influences, bassist Tony Kanal played in a sleeveless T-shirt from The Police .

Throughout the concert, home videos taken from when No Doubt was rising to the top were projected on the screen. The band took off after the release of Tragic Kingdom in 1995, which became a classic of the decade. The last minutes of the set were dedicated to three classics on that album. In Just a Girl , Stefani had men and women sing separately. Afterward, the audience sung Don’t Speak together. The song even made the younger festival-goers, who had begun the long walk to see French producer and DJ Gesaffelstein at a different stage, stop and turn around.

Blur could have added to the 1990s nostalgia, but Damon Albarn chose a set that opted for the most recent songs of the London group, which has reunited and broken up several times since 2003. Seconds before singing Girls & Boys , the song from Parklife (1994) that became one of the best-known anthems of Britpop, the 56-year-old leader told the audience: “This is a song from the 1990s. We were there!”

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.

Moscow Metro 2019

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

60 rides - 1900 RUB

1 day - 230 RUB 3 days - 438 RUB 30 days - 2170 RUB.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

SamsungPay, ApplePay and PayPass cards.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

There are also signs on the platfrom. They will help you to havigate yourself. (To the lines 3 and 5 in this case).
