Good itinerary, good accommodation, great food.

Everything was very well planned. Lots of variety in the activities. Good food and nice places to stay. Fiona was a wonderful and entertaining guide.

Jean Marie Brooks

The trip met our expectations if only we could have gone to orkey. this mig.

Food was usually very good. Scenery was outstanding.

Ms. Kirsten Eva Sehested

Lovely time in a beautiful country, fantastic tour..

Worth the money. It would have cost me triple this to do it myself and I’d have been exhausted from all the driving.

Deborah Kathryn Maier

Beautiful scotland.

This is the first group tour I have taken. It was great to have someone else do the driving and plan the stops. I was pleased with the itinerary. The tour guide was able to answer questions beyond the commentary he was providing. He obviously loved his country and his job. I was surprised by the mountains we saw and the numerous waterfalls. There were sheep everywhere. Everyone was friendly and the pubs and eateries where we stopped for lunch had great food and good service. Breakfast and dinner were provided most days. The choices were excellent and CIE encourages the meals be sourced locally. That means the food tasted so fresh with great flavor. I had no idea I would be getting such wonderful food options.

Over the years we have built up an enviable reputation for security and reliability with satisfied clients throughout the world. We set our own high standards for delivering excellent holidays with state-of-the-art luxury coaches; prompt and pleasant customer service; the best hotels; and carefully chosen visits and entertainment.

Our coach tours are fully inclusive with no optional extras to purchase at your destination. You pay one price and we insist that our tour directors focus solely on your enjoyment. Once you pay the deposit, we guarantee our land tour prices.

If you prefer to travel independently, we offer self-drive and chauffeur-drive programs for Ireland with a wide range of hotel accommodation, which can be booked in advance, as well as popular B & Bs. Whichever way you like to travel, choose one of our fine holidays from our website and enjoy the greatest travel experience ever!

What makes CIE Tours unique?

Sightseeing Visits: CIE Tours includes a variety of attractions on every tour for an interesting travel experience. Check each tour itinerary to see exactly which places are featured. Admission costs are included in the tour price so that you don't waste time paying as you enter each attraction.

Guaranteed Departures & Prices: We guarantee most of our land tour departures which are updated daily on our website. We guarantee land tour costs will not increase, once you have paid your tour deposit, to protect you against international currency fluctuations.

Group Airport Transfers: As a newcomer to an airport, it's great to have someone meet you. We include complimentary group transfers on the starting and ending date of tours at times specified on each itinerary. If you arrive or depart later than our tour dates, you may purchase a transfer from us.

Travel Documents: On arrival CIE Tours will supply coach tour clients with tour vouchers, maps, ticket wallets, destination information, rain poncho, carry-on backpack, phone cards, VAT tax card, luggage tags and a strap. Self-drive clients receive accommodation vouchers and listings, ticket wallets, luggage tags and a strap. Use the tags and strap on your baggage for easy identification throughout your holiday. All you need to supply is a valid passport and, if driving, a current drivers license.

Leisure & Spa Facilities: Most of the hotels we use offer wonderful leisure facilities and spas. When you travel on a coach tour, you will have some free time most days and may like to enjoy some relaxation and spa serenity! So be sure to pack a swimsuit and workout clothes.

History & Geography: People who choose to travel in Ireland and Britain usually have an interest in the long history of the region and, as you tour around, you will visit a lot of ancient cities, churches and castles. All of our tour directors are well trained in the background information of the places and incorporate this history into their narratives in a manner that is fun and easy to digest. Similarly they are able to give you facts on the geography of the regions you travel through, giving you an insight into climate, farming, weather and other topics.

Coach Touring & Sightseeing: Some people think that on a coach tour, all you do is sit on the coach all day. Not true with CIE Tours! We have created balanced and varied days of sightseeing with plenty of stops for taking photos, shopping, lunch, snacks and bathrooms. You never travel for longer than two hours without getting off the coach.

CIE Tours - All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go (2024)

Experience Ireland the way the Irish do with CIE Tours

Explore bustling streets, rolling green hills, cottages, castles & coastlines in ireland.

CIE Tours has added four new tours in Ireland, Scotland, and Italy for 2024.

Gerry Glavin knows the Irish countryside like the back of his hand. He can show you every sheep farm, cow farm and horse farm that dot the landscape.

Glavin loves to share a lighthearted limerick. “Some Guinness was spilt on the barroom floor, and the pub — it was shut for the night. Out of his hole, crept a wee brown mouse and he sat in the pale moonlight.”

He’s also a storyteller and he’ll regale listeners with a tale or two.

But most of all, Glavin provides the best tours of Ireland because it’s his home.

Travel company CIE Tours employs locals, like Glavin, to serve as its tour directors. With nearly a century of experience, CIE Tours knows well that to truly see a place, travelers must see it through the eyes of a local.

Dermot Honan is as Irish as they come, having been “born, bred and buttered in Ireland.”

“What sets CIE Tours apart? The people. The tour directors. The fact that we’ve grown up here — this is our country,” said Honan. “This is what we are showing you — a lived experience.”

Anyone can read a guidebook and give a tour, but there’s something magical about travelling with a local. Locals understand that the best gifts are experiences etched into the soul, not something wrapped in a small box.

That’s what travelers with CIE Tours get when stepping onto Irish soil. They are greeted with the warmest of welcomes as they take in the rolling green hills, charming cottages, captivating castles, and breathtaking coastlines.

Every corner of this captivating island invites exploration — from the bustling streets of Dublin to the serene beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way. As travelers journey through Ireland, they are immersed in a rich tapestry of culture, music and folklore.

The locals make visitors feel like old friends. Whether they’re sipping a pint of Guinness in a centuries-old pub or marveling at the mystical Cliffs of Moher, every moment in Ireland is a new chapter in a story waiting to be discovered.

Explore with peace of mind

Take a moment to imagine going on a trip in which everything has been carefully planned, so that all there is to do is enjoy every moment of the adventure.

This is what CIE Tours offers — a trusted travel companion handling all the nitty-gritty details while explorers focus on the journey. With over 90 years of experience, CIE Tours is the go-to company for discovering Ireland’s stunning landscapes, friendly vibe and deep history.

See history come to life

Ireland is a travel destination that has captured imaginations for centuries, where the past meets the present in a testament to the island’s allure.

With CIE Tours, travelers walk in the footsteps of legends at the Giant’s Causeway, explore medieval monasteries at Glendalough and Clonmacnoise, and discover the stories of revolutionaries at Kilmainham and Glasnevin.

But the adventure doesn’t end with Ireland. CIE Tours also offers European packages. Travelers can see Britain’s Stonehenge , Scotland’s castles , Italy’s masterpieces , or Iceland’s glaciers .

CIE Tours offers several options for individuals, families and group travel . In addition to guided tours , travelers can opt for a self-drive adventure or a customized p rivate driver experience.

Make friends along the way

Open the door to a world of breathtaking landscapes and incredible experiences. Each day of adventure is brimming with the promise of fascinating history, enchanting locales, and unique adventures best celebrated with friends, old and new.

Don’t scratch the tour guide off that list.

“A lot of them, we become very good friends with and remain friends with them afterward,” said Glavin. This is just another way CIE Tours takes cultural immersion to a whole new level. CIE Tours is there for whatever adventure explorers seek.

And it all begins with the warm welcome of local experts, like Glavin, Honan and a host of others, who know every nook and cranny of their homeland, making the journey one that’s truly unforgettable.

The CIE Tours difference

For nearly a century, CIE Tours has been weaving travel dreams into reality, and the secret behind its success lies in the unparalleled travel experience the company offers.

This travel company takes pride in its rich history, which began back in 1932. With roots in Ireland’s national transit system, CIE Tours’ trains and buses connected the cities, towns and villages of Ireland before expanding to serve travelers worldwide.

Today, CIE Tours has helped more than 3 million guests enjoy the vacation of their dreams with carefree touring, authentic experiences and expert guides. Their all-inclusive packages mean no hidden fees or surprises; all attractions and many meals are included in one upfront price.

On Nov. 19, would-be travelers can find special deals during CIE Tours’ Black Friday sale, its most significant sale of the year. On Cyber Monday, exclusive offers continue and are designed to inspire travelers. CIE Tours has introduced four new tours in Ireland, Scotland, and Italy for 2024.

Mark the calendars for CIE Tours’ Black Friday sale beginning Nov. 19 and continued savings through the week of Cyber Monday. Learn more about CIE Tours at www.cietours.com .
