To be considered for the invited call please apply below. There are only a limited number of spots available. All submissions must be in no later than Friday, April 12, 2024. Any vocalists selected will be sent song cuts to prepare and Live Character Actresses will be sent sides. Due to the amount of submissions, we receive, we may not be able to see everyone who submits. If you are not selected, then may receive a notification on how to be considered for employment in lieu of a live audition.

PRODUCTION VOCALISTS: actively seeking all ethnicities. Seeking excellent vocalist that can do Broadway, rock and contemporary pop. Must be strong actors and move well.

* Men should be High Baritone to Tenor – Full voice, A4 above middle C who are also strong actors and move well.

* Women should have a full voice rock belt to at least C above middle C who also have a legit soprano up to a minimum of G5. THERE ARE NO BELT ONLY TRACKS ON OUR SHIPS.

LIVE CHARACTER ACTRESS: Seeking a dynamic and versatile performer with strong hosting skills and good comedic timing who can interpret the roles of JOAN BREWER – QUEEN OF THE PIRATES and FORTUNA LUCK on our ships. Performance duties include hosting interactive live events and games around the pool and public lounges whilst remaining in character. And leading interactive demo games in the Casino. Must be able to do a standard RP British accent and American accent. Must be between the heights of 5'5 to 5'7.

Parking : Parking garages are located on the Blvd of the Allies and Third Ave. (please refer to the campus map or website). 

Building Access : Point Park University is a secure campus. All external visitors are asked to access campus using the Third Avenue entrance to Academic Hall. (PDF of campus map and AH Atrium diagram attached). Your team will be asked to sign in at the security desk. Also, please leave your phone number with the desk attendant, so they will be able to contact you quickly, if an emergency arises.

On the day of auditions, way finding signs will be posted directing participants to the GRW Dance Complex. 

Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance in appropriate dance attire and shoes with a picture and current resume. Women should bring character heels and a flat dance shoe or sneakers. Men should wear dance shoes that they can turn in or sneakers. You will not be allowed to dance barefoot or in socks.

MALE DANCERS: 18 to late 30's, actively seeking all ethnicities. Seeking fit, athletic dancers with strong technical training and outgoing personalities. No singing required.

Recently, Disney Cruise Line put out a casting calls for Character Performers, Mainstage Dancer, and Singer/Actor roles for fleet wide needs, current and future sailings. The roles include opportunities across the fleet including the Disney Wish.

Disney Cruise Line Character Performer Audition: Registration for June 21 in Toronto

Disney Cruise Line is auditioning for Animated Character Performers for fleet wide needs for current and future sailings. Including opportunities beginning rehearsal over the next several months. Casting opportunity for Face Look-Alike roles of Mulan, Cinderella, Moana, Jasmine, Tiana, Black Panther, Captain Jack Sparrow, Anna, Elsa, and more!

Disney Cruise Line Mainstage Dancer Audition: Registration for June 20 in Toronto

Dancers for Male and Female identifying roles, all ethnicities for fleet wide needs, current and future sailings. Including opportunities beginning over the next several months. Disney is seeking a diverse range of performers to bring Disney’s fleet of ships to life! Must be trained in ballet and jazz. Some roles require Tumbling and/or Tap.

Disney Cruise Line Singer / Actor Audition: Registration for June 13 & 14

Auditions for mainstage Singer/Actor roles for upcoming contracts. Contracts of approximately eight months with start dates throughout the year. Including Disney Cruise Line’s   newest luxury liner, the Disney Wish. Featuring the newest Walt Disney Theatre production,  Disney Little Mermaid . The next Disney Wish rehearsal period will begin in Toronto in July 2022, with an onboard contract end date in May of 2023. As well as other opportunities throughout the year.

Is this for real?

You're not dreaming. We're placing qualified musicians on luxury cruises all around the world...right now! And when we say luxury, we're talking "floating Ritz Carlton". Picture the best room in Vegas...with the best view in the world.

And I really get paid?

Yes. You’re paid a competitive salary and you get to spend your down time in exotic locations around the world—beaches in the Caribbean, excursions in Alaska, and more…

But I have to pay to get there, right?

No. We fly you there and back—and if you’re interested, we can even make sure you’re lined up on another one before you come home.

Do I have to pay for anything?

The only thing you have to pay for is a pre-employment medical. (Oh, and maybe some fancy clothes for formal nights).

Wait… I can get off the ship?

Yes, that’s the best part. If your ship goes to Egypt, so do you. Thailand? Yep. Argentina? You got it. Aruba? For sure! When the passengers disembark, you’re welcome to do so too. Most musicians play at night, which means your days are free to explore the world.

How do I qualify?

There are only a few rules. You need to be 21. You need to commit to a continuous contract. You need a passport and possibly a visa. You need to pay for a pre-employment medical. Most of all, you need to be good.

Our audience get to experience what it’s like to live life on the road with our very own country band ‘The Ramsey Boys’ on their concert tour. Set designs transform the stage seamlessly from scene to scene as the lyrics of true country classics combined with new contemporary country hits tell the story of their journey.

A Caribbean Dance Romance features a sizzling four-piece Cuban band and a talented eight-member cast who have audiences singing and dancing in the aisles as they perform songs by top Latin artists, including Gloria Estefan, Celia Cruz and Pitbull, amid a tropics-inspired backdrop of Cuba and Miami.

An explosive high energy Rock Concert, featuring music from the greatest American Rock Bands of all time. Our cast is joined by our very own six piece Rock Band which amplifies the energy in the house causing our guests to pump their fists & sing along in this mind blowing Rock experience.

The Rock n’ Roll Piano Show has sing-along hits from Billy Joel, Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis and others – as well as an appearance from Carnival Freedom’s own piano bar pianist.

This high-energy show channels the era of Day-Glo, Spandex, and big hair with spirited performances of the hottest music video hits from the 1980s. From the pop-rock of Duran Duran and Cindy Lauper to the smooth soul of Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson and beyond, 80s Pop to the Max takes audiences back to days when "video killed the radio star."

A high-tech re-creation of popular beach movies of the 1960s with 3D special effects, Getaway Island invites guests to set their watches to “island time” as they experience a tropical island bash with music from Jimmy Buffet, Bob Marley, the Beach Boys and others. Getaway Island also has its own version of Carnival's RedFrog Pub.

This show includes recognizable R&B and soul hits from a host of legendary singers, from Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder to Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Al Green. In a twist, six couples are chosen for a night with VIP seats, champagne and flowers.

Epic Rock celebrates the glam days of the 1970s and 1980s with hard-driving tunes by Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Guns ’n Roses and arena rock staples by artists like Journey and Bon Jovi – all backed by dazzling pyrotechnics, lasers and shooting flames associated with over-the-top rock-and-roll shows. Epic Rock brings back the days when rock ruled the airwaves while providing guests a chance to sing along and channel their inner rock star.

Inspired by the sophistication of Studio 54 and the funk and fashion of Soul Train, Studio VIP is a dance party that celebrates the musical revolution that was New York City nightlife in the 1970’s and the glittering excesses of that decade. An all-out audience participation show, Studio VIP evokes the days of bell bottoms and wide lapels while showcasing some of the most memorable songs from a bygone era – from KC and the Sunshine Band and Donna Summer to Chic, Parliament and Barry White.

"The Brits!" is a colorful musical tribute to the British invasion featuring a stunning mix of live action and animation and songs by The Beatles, The Who, Herman’s Hermits and Elton John.

"Motor City" celebrates the R&B Motown sound of the 1960s and ‘70s, with hits from the Commodores, Lionel Richie, Martha and the Vandellas, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes and Stevie Wonder.

"Latin Nights" brings the passionate Latin culture to life through the fusion music of Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Santana and Shakira.

"Divas" is a captivating mix of music, fashion, and dance and features such popular "one-name" female artists as Barbra, Beyonce, Celine, Cher, Madonna and Whitney.

Carnival ships require singers to have a charismatic stage presence, versatile singing ability, and a strong dance foundation. All of our vocalists embody strong technique and an understanding of all genres of music. In addition to dynamic vocals, their ability to engage our guests on stage and off creates a lasting impression.

Dancers Who Sing

Carnival ships require dancers to execute a variety of dance styles. Our dancers have a strong foundation in all genres and the ability to execute with high energy and unique personality. They are strong singers with confident singing voices and ability to pick up and retain intricate harmony. Along with a captivating performance, they are engaging and personable with our wonderful guests.

One Night Only

Playlist performers have the opportunity to join forces on a set with the band to create an interactive musical experience. Collaborate with the musicians and get the guests involved!

Select Playlist Productions feature an array of special guests. From a 5 piece rock band to an electrifying string trio, be accompanied onstage by our talented musicians!

Year round on board our ships, we come together to celebrate the Holidays.

Guest Engagement

Carnival is extremely dedicated to our guest experience. Our performers have multiple opportunities a day to build their fan base through guest interactions. Team members are assigned to a variety of additional duties that provide a chance to engage with our guests. From welcoming them on board to post show meet and greets, joining the Cruise Director at sail away parties and much more! This is a wonderful time to greet guests by name and invite them to join you in your performance spaces throughout the cruise.

Military Appreciation

Carnival Cruise Line features a unique way to recognize the service of U.S. and Canadian military members and veterans. At the Military Appreciation Gathering our performers join in honoring the courage and commitment made by soldiers as well as their families.

Rehearsal Space

There are 21 studio spaces within the building. Studios represent specific ships’ stage spacing to mimic being on the real stage. The 4 vocal studios and 3 dance studios provide space for warm ups, review, and break downs as well as regular rehearsals.

During the rehearsal process, performers are mentored by leading professionals in the cruise industry. Our Dance and Vocal Supervisors have experience with Carnival Entertainment that collectively spans over an impressive 50 years. They are able to bring the directors original vision to life in order to help shape the production. Each supervisor brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in order to bring out the best in our Singers and Dancers.

Our team members have the ability to work one-on-one with the audio technician that will be on board with them to create their own audio mix as well as become accustom to using in-ear monitors. You’ll have the opportunity to merge and do a complete run-through with sound, floor, and automation techs as well as the full band before joining the ship.

Development Studio

The developmental studio that is 5,266 sq. feet and features a 32’ wide and 15’ tall LED wall. This includes 6 automated sections that can move independently of each other as well as 2 rovers that can move back and forth.

Dance Floor

All studios are covered by a ‘Marley’ sprung dance floor. Each studio is marked with numbers on the floor for reference and blocking, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors to assist with learning the choreography and staying synchronized.

With up to twelve ships rehearsing at once, the green room is a great place to interact with team members from across the fleet. At any given time Playlist cast members, musicians, and technicians can be found enjoying each other’s company, eating lunch, or celebrating a team member’s birthday. The green room is furnished with plenty of seating as well as a gourmet coffee machine and a variety of vending options.

While you’re at the studios you have the greater Miami area at your fingertips. Jump in a cab to get some great food, spend some time on the beach, or of course…..see GREAT LIVE MUSIC.

DEVANAND JANKI

Choreographer.

Choreographer-(Motor City/The Brits/Studio VIP/Lip Synch Battle)-Dev is an award winning New York-based Director and Choreographer. His career spans all facets of the performing arts – theatre, opera, ballet and corporate entertainment. He began as a performer, appearing in numerous productions including Broadway’s: Miss Saigon, Cats, The King & I and Side Show. For the past 15 years, he has been a freelance director, working worlwide on over 50 shows including Aladdin, Junie B. Jones, Man of La Mancha, Rent, The Full Monty and Off-Broadway’s Zanna Don’t! for which he won the Lucille Lortel Award. He is the Artistic Director of the Bingham Camp Theatre Retreat (BCTR) that develops new musicals & plays that celebrate diversity.

PETER FLYNN

Creator and director.

Creator and Director--(Motor City/The Brits/Studio VIP/Lip Synch Battle/88 Keys/Amor Cubano/Heart of Soul /Broadway Beats)-Peter is a New York based director and teacher who works both in new work development throughout the country as well as staging classic American musicals for some of the most notable regional theatres.

His New York credits include the off-Broadway premiere of Marcy Heisler’s & Zina Goldrich's Junie B’s Essential Survival Guide to School, choreographed by Devanand Janki; the Actors’ Fund concerts of the 75th Anniversary of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town with Adriane Lenox, B.D. Wong, S. Epatha Merkerson, and concerts of On the 20th Century with Douglas Sills & Marin Mazzie, Chess with Josh Groban & Julia Murney, and Funny Girl with Whoopi Goldberg, & Andrea Martin; Skippyjon Jones, & Junie B. Jones (nominated for two Lucille Lortel Awards including Best Musical), and Rhapsody in Seth - Actors’ Playhouse starring Seth Rudetsky.

Other credits include the world premiere of Curvy Widow by Bobby Goldman, Drew Brody and starring Nancy Opel; the world premiere of Willy Holtzman’s new play, Smart Blonde at Pittsburgh’s City Theatre starring Andréa Burns; Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop; Gypsy at the St. Louis MUNY; Kiss Me, Kate for the Maltz-Jupiter Theatre where he has directed productions of Man of LaMancha (Carbonell Award, Best Director & Best Musical), Sleuth, & Other Desert Cities; and 1776 & The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee for Ford’s Theatre.

Peter is the director of Musical Theatre for the Stella Adler Studio for Acting & is on the faculty of Adler’s NYU Tisch Division. He is also an Associate Artist at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. and a graduate of Northwestern University.

JENNIFER SAVELLI

As a dancer, associate and choreographer, Ms. Savelli has an incredible body of work including appearing in the feature film CHICAGO as well as six Broadway shows, including working alongside her personal friend Chita Rivera as a featured performer in Chita Rivera: The Dancers Life. She has appeared on Broadway in Anything Goes, The Boy from Oz (Hugh Jackman), Spiderman: Turn off the Dark, Guys & Dolls and Fosse (Broadway and 1st Natl Tour) as well as Kennedy Center Honors, Academy Awards, PBS’s acclaimed BROADWAY The American Musical, MTV VMA Awards with Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule.

MARCOS SANTANA

Choreographer-(88 Keys/Heart of Soul/Amor Cubano/Broadway Beats)-Marcos Santana is a New York based choreographer, director, performer and educator. Currently, he is the associate choreographer and can be seen performing in the Broadway hit show “On Your Feet”.

Originally from Puerto Rico, he began his dance career at the age 18 in his native Island where he trained in Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern & Latin. After a very successful career performing with leading dance companies and international artists, he relocated to Los Angeles in 2000. While in L.A., he had the privilege to perform for artists such as Chayanne, Missy Elliott, Anastacia, Mary J Blige, Eden’s Crush, Constantina, Jimmy Buffet, and Ellen Degeneres, among others.

As a choreographer, Marcos has worked on productions such as On Your Feet (Assoc. Choreographer/ Tony Nomination), Rocky (Assoc. Choreographer/ Tony Nomination), Man Of La Mancha, Randy Newman’s Faust (Encores), Mr. Magoo’s A Christmas Carol, Fortress Of Solitude (Public Theater Assoc Choreographer), Pirates Of Penzanze (Stratford Sakespeare Festival), Brazil Brazil (New Victory Theater), Much Ado About Nothing, My Fair Lady, Guys & Dolls, Paul Simon’s Capeman (Delacorte Theater Assoc Choreographer), In The Heights (2009 Gypsy of the Year), Rock Of Ages National Tour/West End/Vegas (Assoc Choreographer).

KELLY CONNOLLY

Choreographer / asst. director.

Choreographer/ Assist. Director-(America Rocks!)-Kelly Connolly is a multidisciplinary artist being named the first-ever "All-Around Best Female Dancer” by Dancetrack Magazine. Kelly held the position of lead choreographer for The Illusionists 2.0 at The Sydney Opera House, and was part of the Inaugural cast of The Illusionist on Broadway. She was movement coordinator for motion picture Mr. Right starring Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell, and choreographer for both Rent and American Idiot at the Children’s Musical Theater in San Jose. Coached Ariana Grande for her music video featuring Chris Brown. Kelly is both Choreographer and performer in Special Edition Dance Party for Dreamworks’ Kung Fu Panda 3, The Teen Choice Awards with Selena Gomez, Dancing With the Stars, music videos for One Republic and was Britney Spears’ double. Additional credits include recurring dance roles on hit TV shows including Glee, How I Met Your Mother and Nickelodeon’s Fresh Beat Band, ColdCase, Malcolm In theMiddle, and numerous musical theater performances including A Chorus Line, The Sound of Music, Camelot, Beauty & the Beast, and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at The Kodak Theater and Hollywood Bowl. She has also performed and choreographed TV commercials and social media campaigns for brands including Degree Women, Nikon, Chrysler and T-Mobile.

KEITH YOUNG

Creator, Director, and Choreographer-(Country Road/Vintage Pop)-KEITH YOUNG is one of the most versatile creative director/choreographers working in the industry today. Keith received a Bachelor of Science degree in Arts Education from Miami University. Although his primary focus was in painting and sculpture, Keith was drawn to the all-encompassing expression that dance allows. Following college, he danced with numerous notable dance companies in New York and joined Twyla Tharp’s company as a principal dancer. He later became her assistant on Milo Forman's acclaimed film AMADEUS. He also served as rehearsal director in the staging of THE SINATRA SUITES, featuring Mikhail Baryshnikov, for American Ballet Theater.

FILM: GONE WITH THE BULLETS directed by the highly acclaimed director Jiang Wen, the first Chinese film using 3D, employing an American choreographer,for which Keith won the 2015 World Choreography Award. Other film credits include THE SMURFS MOVIE, directed by Raja Gosnell, as well as multiple films for director Nancy Meyers such as IT'S COMPLICATED, THE HOLIDAY, and SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE. Keith also created the very memorable dance scene with Mel Gibson in WHAT WOMEN WANT. Keith is particularly proud of his choreography on the feature film RENT, directed by Chris Columbus.

In 2012, she served as Dance Captain at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London.

KAREN MAYBURY WEBB

Creator & Director-(America Rocks!)-Karen has an extensive background in entertainment, both as performer, writer and director. Karen’s specialty in entertainment management and creative skills have given her the opportunity to work around the world for major companies and cruise lines both as a Cruise and Entertainment Director and also as a Creative Director. Karen has performed on stage in several productions and as an experienced MC has opened shows for multiple celebrities such as The Beach Boys, Christopher Cross, Michael Mcdonald, Lee Evans and The Steve Miller band to name but a few. Karen’s company, Maybury Webb Creative, provides talent around the world and her knowledge of the entertainment industry and collaboration with her musician husband Dave enable them to produce and present exciting shows and theme events.

EMMET MURPHY

Creator and Director-(Getaway Island/80's Pop to the Max)-Emmett Murphy is a prolific creator with a love for synthesizing experiences by integrating storytelling, technology, multimedia and live performance. Mr. Murphy is the founder of showHive, Inc.

Emmett has conceived and directed 17 production shows for numerous companies, including, Carnival Cruise Lines, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Norwegian Cruises Lines, and Princess Cruise Lines. He was also the producer for the spectacular production of Illusions at Joyland Theme Park near Shanghai, China.

Mr. Murphy has a background in music and dance and utilizes choreography and musical staging to drive the narrative of his shows. As a director, he’s had the honor of working with esteemed choreographers such as Emmy Award winning Joshua Bergasse, Broadway vetted Jessica Hartman, Jennifer Savelli, international ballroom champions Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin and Tony Award nominated Melinda Roy.

Prior to launching showHive, Mr. Murphy was an independent producer for industrial theater and special events in New York City. He then joined a leading entertainment production house servicing the cruise ship industry and was involved with strategic planning, contract negotiations, casting and creative development. Mr. Murphy went on to work for Cirque du Soleil ® in conjunction with The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. He also directed Sin City Comedy at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Mr. Murphy brings deep entertainment industry expertise and an understanding of his clients’ challenges, along with an ease of working with high level executives. He is known for his disruptive creative development process which results in truly unique production show experiences and for his ability to conceive and execute concepts that captivate audiences. Mr. Murphy is a member of the Actors Equity Association and American Guild of Variety Artists, and is an avid collector of modern and contemporary art.

Producer & Co-Creator-(Soulbound)-JR White is the co-founder of 2 Creative Entertainment and serves as its President and CEO. With over 25 years of live entertainment production experience in the entertainment and cruise ship industry, JR has built his career bringing quality and innovative entertainment to the public. In addition to his roles as Creative Producer and Project Manager for Carnival Horizon and Mardi Gras, he has been part of the management and creative teams responsible for creating and overseeing installation of new productions for Holland America Line, The Yachts of Seabourn, Cunard Cruises, Celebrity Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International as well as land-based entertainment in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Palm Springs. He has led the new-build entertainment installation teams for six new ships for Holland America Line as well as serving as Line Producer of the Royal Theatre for Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas. Mr. White hold’s a B.A. in Musical Theater from California State University, Fullerton and an M.A. in Arts Management from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

AARON JACKSON

Creator and Director-(Soulbound)-Aaron is a founding member of 2 Creative Entertainment, acting as the company’s Creative Director. An award-winning Designer and Concept Artist based in Los Angeles, he has over 20 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry with projects spanning Theatre, Television, Concerts, Theme Parks and Corporate Events.

Past projects include creating designs for Barry Manilow and Lorna Luft as well as working as the Layout Designer for Star Wars: A Galactic Extravaganza at Disney Hollywood Studios. He was a Design Producer for the final season of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC and has designed events for the WB Television Network, Cartoon Network, Mercedes-Benz, Design Cure and Cornerstone.  

Aaron is a regular designer for Phoenix Theatre Company and Childsplay in Phoenix, AZ having designed such stage productions as Rent, Hedwig & The Angry Inch, Godspell, Something Rotten, Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson, A Wrinkle in Time, Robin Hood, Wonderland: Alice’s Rock & Roll Adventure and numerous others. He was the Resident Designer for Shakespeare by the Sea in Los Angeles for 14 seasons and over 25 productions. His has also designed for Holland America Line, Celebrity Cruises, Regent and Oceania Cruise Lines and has served as adjunct faculty for UC Irvine and Chapman University.  

Aaron’s latest ongoing project is the creation of a new online Escape Room venture, Wild Hare Escapes, where he is creating and designing a wide range of virtual worlds to explore and escape from.  

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millikin University, (Decatur, IL) and a Masters of Fine Arts from Rutgers University, (New Brunswick, NJ).

Michael Shawn Lewis has worked extensively in the arts around the globe as a performer, producer and theatrical presenter. Michael received a Drama Desk nomination in 2010 for his work as producer on the New York production of ImaginOcean and is working as executive producer to adapt the magical underwater world into a television series with the Jim Henson Company. He is producing the live stage touring version of Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train, currently a smash hit children's television series on PBS. Michael is one of the founders of the New York Children's Theater Festival, a non-profit (501c3) which promotes the development of outstanding children's theater in America. His Broadway performing credits include The Phantom of the Opera, and The Woman in White. In Europe he starred in Elisabeth, The Musical, Les Miserable and numerous productions of Phantom. He has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as James Taylor at Lincoln Center.

JOHN TARTAGLIA

John Tartaglia is best known for his TONY nominated Broadway debut in the original cast of "Avenue Q". He is also well known to parents around the world as "Johnny" from Disney Channel's 8 time EMMY nominated series "Johnny and the Sprites" (Executive Producer, Co-Creator and star). He conceived and wrote the Off Broadway hit "ImaginOcean", which just finihed a successful multi-year international tour and is currently being developed with The Jim Henson Company as a television series. John is director of the upcoming Broadway musical "Because of Winn Dixie" featuring the book and lyrics of Nell Benjamin and music of Duncan Sheik. John will also be directing and co-producing the live tour of PBS's "Dinosaur Train" and "Sid the Science Kid Live", as well as "Shrek the Musical" at the legendary MUNY theatre in St Louis. Other Broadway includes "Beauty and the Beast" (Lumiere) and "Shrek the Musical" (Pinocchio-Original Cast). John was one of the youngest puppeteers hired on Sesame Street, starting at age 16, and is currently wrapping up his 13th season with the show. Other television and film includes "Teeny Tiny Dogs" (Amazon Original), "Ugly Betty" (Pablo), "Animal Jam", and the upcoming independent film "Silent But Deadly". John is co-owner of Gables Grove Productions, a multi-media family entertainment company.

JILL HILLIER

Associate Director/Choreographer – (Soulbound)-Jill Hillier has had the great fortune of working as Associate Director/Choreographer on major tours and residencies for some of the biggest pop stars in the world. She started off 2020 as Associate Director to acclaimed tour director Jamie King on Ricky Martin’s “Movimiento” world tour. She also worked with Jamie on Ricky’s “All In” residency in Las Vegas, Nicki Minaj’s 2017 performance at amfAR, Jennifer Lopez’s “Dance Again” tour, “QViva Live” at Mandalay Bay, Celine Dion’s “Taking Chances” Tour, and The Spice Girls Reunion Tour. Adding to her list of Vegas Residencies, Jill recently acted as Assistant Director for Gwen Stefani’s “Just a Girl” at Planet Hollywood and choreographed “After Dark” 

featuring the ultimate jazz musician Brian Newman. 

In a addition to the "Pop World", Jill enjoys creating shows for cruise lines such as Carnival, NCL, Oceana, Regent, Holland America and Celebrity. She is also the Choreographer/Creative Director for the a cappellla sensation Straight No Chaser’s live tours as well as their PBS specials. Recently she became the Resident Director/ Tour Manager for the new theatrical sensation “The Choir of Man” which tours the US, Australia and performs on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Escape and Encore. Jill loves collaborating with major brands such as Mary Kay Cosmetics, in 2019 she oversaw their annual convention in Dallas which included a cast of 90 singers, dancers and musicians on a 153’ stage with 11 video screens. 

For television, Jill worked with Simon Cowell’s boyband PRETTYMUCH on their performance at the 2017 TCAs! Todrick Hall had Jill coordinate and co choreograph his opening number at Nickelodeon’s 2014 Kids Choice Awards as well as a number of his YouTube videos. Other TV credits include Lip Sync Battle, 

Dancing with the Stars, VH1’s Ricky Martin special, Q Viva the Chosen for Fox, MTV’s Made, USA’s The Moment, Celine Dion’s CBS special, Nickelodeon’s birthday special with Geri Halliwell, and numerous award shows.

When Jill was a dancer, she performed with such celebrities as Prince, Carmen Electra, Juliet Prowse, Thelma Houston, Tony Bennett, and many others. She has performed in regional theatre and national tours of shows like Grease, George M!, Beauty and the Beast, My One and Only, Brigadoon and on Holland America Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines and in numerous commercials, industrials and park shows for the Walt Disney Company.

In between directing and choreographing, Jill greatly enjoys teaching, choreographing and mentoring aspiring dancers across the country. She is involved with Commercial Dance Intensive, Celebrity Dance Competitions, GoPro, Talent on Parade, Hollywood Dance Intensive, KARR, and TAPS just to name a few.

MARK JENNINGS

Choregrapher- (Celestial & Welcome Aboard Show)-Mark Jennings is a British creative director, choreographer and show director based in the heart of London. He delivers bespoke performances for brands and music artists to stadium scale ceremonies for high profile events. 

Having worked closely with many of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Mark is renowned for creating work that shifts perceptions across Music, TV, Film, Theatre, Live, Corporate and Digital platforms. His energetic approach coupled with his experience in producing memorable performances on the world stage is well documented and his choreography work for international artists such as The Jonas brothers, Gary Barlow, Michael Buble, Steps, Jax Jones, John Newman and Louis Tomlinson have resulted in billions of people seeing his work. 

He is passionate about creating strong and iconic experiences for global brands and his extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry has given him opportunities to bridge both worlds. Mark sets new trends in live entertainment which result in meaningful and breath-taking direction and choreography for major events and ceremonies. Producing work for brands such as Cartier, Dolce and Gabbana, DeBeers, Department of international trade, Marks and Spencer, Facebook, Huawei and The Burley Clubs.

Paul is a British Stage Director & Choreographer 

His latest release is to choreograph Harry Styles latest video single ’Treat People With Kindness’ featuring Phoebe Waller- Bridge and before that working on Sky Atlantic’s ‘I Hate Suzy’ starring Billie Piper. 

Paul has since finished production as choreographer & staging director on the Spice Girls ‘Spiceworld’ Stadium Tour. 

Paul trained at The Urdang Academy, London and went on to perform both in the UK & internationally for both broadcasters & touring productions. 

Paul is an award-winning choreographer and has collaborated with many global musical talents, worked on various UK and International television shows as well as collaborated with many brands. Paul is also an artistic associate of the Balletboyz and has worked on numerous projects with the company; Alpha (Sadler’s Wells); Karma Sutra (Sky Arts).

On Broadway, he directed and developed the creative for "Ruben and Clay's First Annual Christmas Carol Family Fun Pageant Spectacular" as well as the Broadway adaptation and presentation of his "The Stars of Christmas" tour for its Tony-Award Winning producers. The New York Times called Ruben and Clay's Christmas Show "A Christmas Miracle" and his direction "Really Funny.” Whoopi Goldberg, Kathi Lee and Hoda, and Metro Magazine all called the show "a hilarious must see!" with Theater Scene praising "The Marvelous Company... He has appeared on numerous television shows, including Fox’s “Masters of Illusion,” ABC’s “The Greatest Magic of Las Vegas,” and NBC’s “The Pretender,” and as a TV host on the Disney Channel. Borgia’s work as an illusion designer, magic consultant, and technical advisor has made him the trusted expert for the film, stage, television, and music industries.

He served as Magic Consultant for the hit movie “Now You See It,” “Flick – The Power of Motion Pictures,” and Disney’s “Mary Poppins.” He has also designed illusions for some of today’s hottest music artists, including Destiny’s Child, Brian McKnight, Henry Rollins, and Boyz II Men. Using his talents as an artist, Borgia was the illustrator for the popular book “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Magic Tricks.”

SHARON FERROL-YOUNG

Born in New York, Sharon had the privilege to go straight from high school to BROADWAY, cast by GOWER CHAMPION in the original cast of the Tony Award Winning Musical 42nd STREET. She was then cast as a dancer in the musical production of SOPHISTICATED LADIES, and also understudied PAULA KELLY. Sharon performed the role of THE

SOPHISTICATED LADY many times. She then went on to join The First National Tour of SUSAN STROMANS, CRAZY FOR YOU.

Sharon then moved to Los Angeles and immediately started working as a dancer. Some of her film credits include: ZELIG directed by WOODY ALLEN (where she portrayed JOSEPHINE BAKER) COMING TO AMERICA, SCHOOL DAZE directed by SPIKE LEE, BOOGIE NIGHTS, GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE, HOODLUM Sharon also danced in and assisted director DEBBIE ALLEN on the made for TV films POLLY and POLLY 2. She had the privilege to perform with PRINCE on the MTV AWARDS, LUTHER VANDROSS on THE SOUL TRAIN MUSIC AWARDS, toured with BARRY WHITE, directed and choreographed by ADAM SHANKMAN. And also toured with BABYFACE, directed and choreographed by KEITH YOUNG. She went on to assist choreographer KEITH YOUNG on FILMS such as

If you are a manager or a singer, yes, you will have your own cabin. If you are a dancer, you will be accommodated in a double-occupancy cabin which includes bunk beds, closet, desk, TV and bathroom (shower, sink, cabinet, toilet). The cabins also have plugs for charging electronics and reading lights over the beds. The cabin is cleaned once a week by a member of the housekeeping team.

Carnival prides itself on guest interaction and requires additional activites to be able to deliver this on each ship. They’re singing with strangers – and stars.

A choir which started with six people in a Brooklyn living room is now such a draw that people have traveled 10,000 miles to sing Fleetwood Mac and Taylor Swift anthems beside undercover supermodels and Broadway’s hottest stars in the basement of a former church.

The Gaia Music Collective welcomes up to 200 strangers — no professional training or auditioning required — to an event space in Bushwick to harmonize impromptu to songs like Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” and Rihanna’s “Diamond.” 

Supermodel Cara Delevingne carried an alto part — after she signed up under the fake name “June” Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. led a singalong. And singer Natasha Bedingfield even recruited some musicians to sing on her track “Your Child, My Child” with singer Milck.

“We started with six people in a living room – I got friends that I knew from college acapella or theater who as adults weren’t professional musicians, but just wanted an outlet to sing every once in a while,” Matt Goldstein, a vocal arranger, singer and songwriter who started Gaia in June, 2021, told The Post.

Goldstein and co-creator Hannah Tobias quickly outgrew his living room, then rented the Bushwick event space and started blasting out invites in April 2022.

People sign up for the events, like its one-day choirs, on Gaia’s social channels. From there, Goldstein and the Gaia team pick a popular song, send out recorded harmonies for alto, soprano, tanner and bass parts people can listen to before the day of the event. The cost? A pay-what-you-can sliding price of $11 to $33.

Singers come together like a flash mob and sing for three hours, or even all day.

Now Gaia has 315,000 TikTok followers and had a 300-strong waitlist when they announced plans for the “Landslide” session.

People regularly traveled from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to join in — and flown in from Jamaica, Berlin, Germany and even Australia.

“It’s been a wild ride,” said Goldstein.

Broadway stars Chibueze Ihuoma and Brit West of “Hadestown” dropped in last month for solos with more than 170 people harmonizing.  

In February, “Hamilton” star Odom Jr. harmonized a new song surrounded by 200 strangers. 

Aaron Lewys , 32, first took part when he saw Gaia on social media in 2022 when he was visiting from Clinton Township, Michigan.

He booked a return trip just to sing Gene Wilder’s “Pure Imagination” then moved to New York last year, partly because of the choir.

“I was like, ‘Oh man, this is everything I love. Why wouldn’t I be a part of this?’” Lewys, of Sunset Park who sings bass, said. 

“It was definitely a big factor in me wanting to make New York home.”

Lewys recalled realizing that the alto singer in a bucket hat was Delevingne during a session last June. “It was cool to see her plug in and not make a big scene or want to be recognized,” he said.

“It’s so inspiring to see who shows up. There have been people who work corporate jobs, or science jobs, who say I feel so burnt out I have to remind myself why I love music in the first place.”

Artist Profile: Caitlin A. Beirne ’25 — From Disney Cruises to Spelling Bees, Caitlin Beirne is Living the Dream

Ever since sailing on her first Disney Cruise at 16, Caitlin A. Beirne ’25 wanted nothing more than to be one of the performers aboard. Little did she know that right after her sophomore year of college she would get the chance to do just that — and the story is nothing short of spectacular.

Beirne’s love of music started early and was influenced heavily by her father, a member of the military who was deployed for the first five years of her life. Even so, he found the time to share his passion for music with Beirne.

“Whenever he would come back from his trips, we would sing together and watch ‘American Idol’ together,” Beirne said. “The two of us in our family — we have a family of five — loved music and loved performing. Apparently, my parents say I was too shy to actually sing for other people.”

As she continued to sing, Beirne grew out of her shell and eventually her love of theater fell right into place. Beirne joined her elementary school drama club and there was no turning back from there as she fully immersed herself in the performing arts.

“Sixth grade was when I really started being in a rehearsal every day, [being] in theater classes, and singing,” Beirne said.

How Beirne ended up as part of the cast aboard Disney’s ship the Disney Wish, however, sounds like something straight out of a movie: She was scouted while singing karaoke.

“I was singing in karaoke — probably singing ‘Part of Your World’ to be quite honest — and a music director for Disney was walking by, just happened to be walking by,” Beirne said.

The director had heard her singing and proceeded to have a “mini voice lesson” with Beirne.

“We sang together for an hour, through Disney stuff [and some] technique,” Beirne said. “We talked about possibly auditioning in the future and he was optimistic that things might go well. And I said, okay, well, let me try.”

Beirne’s career as a Disney Cruise Line performer seems meant to be, as Beirne just so happened to be in New York the same weekend of the professional audition — her Theater, Dance & Media class was on a trip in the city then. All she had to do was figure out how to stay in the area for one more night and get to the audition the next morning. After a six-week-long audition process, Beirne made it to callbacks and was offered the job in May 2022.

All the pieces were falling into place and Beirne was about to live her dream; however, the process to prepare for the upcoming performances were grueling. To get ship-ready, Beirne spent ten weeks in Toronto rehearsing before finally moving aboard the Disney Wish.

“I lived on a ship for eight and a half months.” Beirne said. “I was performing around 13 to 14 shows a week — and I absolutely loved it. If I could go back tomorrow, I would.”

One of Beirne’s favorite shows to perform was “The Little Mermaid,” in which she played Flounder. This was a full-circle moment for Beirne, whose favorite Disney song is “Part Of Your World”: She had even played Flounder in a production put on by her regional theater when she was in the eighth grade. Not only that, but for her performance on the cruise she learned an entirely new skill — puppeteering.

“I never in my life thought I would get to puppeteer,” Beirne said.

Beyond expanding her repertoire on stage, the time that Beirne spent on the Disney Wish helped her develop her leadership skills. While on the ship, Beirne served as the vocal captain for her team, graduated from the Disney Emerging Leaders Program, and was a Disney trainer. Each of these opportunities provided Beirne with the room to grow as an individual and develop lifelong skills.

Beyond her commitment to musical theater, however, Beirne also participates in the Air Force ROTC and is enrolled in the Harvard-Berklee Dual Degree Program.

“I loved having the experience and also taking things that you learned in theater class and things you learn at Berklee — not just textbooks, but music classes — and then putting it into real life was really exciting to see,” Beirne said.

Beirne’s enthusiasm for new experiences has not waned. At Harvard, she’s just finished a run as Rona Lisa Peretti in the “The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee.” Despite her vast experience as a performer, she continues to find new ways to push herself and explore new arenas.

“I hadn't really played a role like Rona before with as much improv [and the] type of singing was a little bit new to me, not entirely, but not like my most favorite. So it was a challenge, but I really loved the challenge. I felt like I grew so much from that part,” Beirne said.

In a way, Beirne’s character in “The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee” — a nurturing and encouraging host that sees the potential in kids, even as they flounder — is a particularly apt casting that reflects Beirne in real life. One of Beirne’s favorite parts of the Disney Cruise was interacting with kids.

“I love working with children,” Beirne said. “[I am] hoping to inspire younger generations into getting into theater and storytelling. That was one of my favorite parts overall, seeing the faces of little children light up was incredible.”

Beirne has proved that you can do anything you set your mind to and that “dreams really do come true.” Hearing about everything she’s done and the way she sees the world, one cannot help but be infected by her optimism.

Baseball’s back!!  As is usually the case with the start of a new season, hope springs eternal and every team believes they have a chance to win.  Of course, we know that is not true – sorry Oakland.  But in order to be considered a true contender, a team needs to be built solidly on both sides of the ball.  Since we’ve already examined all 30 MLB teams starting outfields, let’s see where the infields rank.

30. Oakland Athletics

Shea Langeliers (C), Ryan Noda (1B), Zach Gelof (2B), Darell Hernaiz (SS), Abraham Toro (3B)

Shea Langeliers is probably the best player on the A’s.  The catcher hit 22 HRS in 2023 and has a rocket for an arm.  Ryan Noda is coming off a rookie season that he played at the tender age of 27, but his low contact/high strikeout combination would portend that he’s not long for the job.  At 24 years of age, Zach Gelof might be the position player with the most upside.  In 69 games last year, he played great defense and showed some power and speed at the plate.  Abraham Toro is a light hitting third baseman that hasn’t shown much over his career.  Finally, Darell Hernaiz is a rookie that has shown promise in the minors but is ultimately an unknown commodity.

29. Chicago White Sox

Martin Maldonado (C), Andrew Vaughn (1B), Nicky Lopez (2B), Paul DeJong (SS), Yoan Moncada (3B)

The White Sox signed Paul DeJong as a reclamation project, hoping to rediscover his power stroke and steady defense of several years ago.  At 37, Martin Maldonado provides a steady veteran presence in the clubhouse.  Yoan Moncada has not lived up to his 5-year, $70 million deal that expires after this season, and expect Chicago to move him at the trade deadline, if they can.  Nicky Lopez showed promise when he was with Kansas City but has been dreadful over the last two seasons.  Andrew Vaughn is the bright spot in the lineup.  He blossomed after being moved back to 1B, and at 25, the Sox hope there is more in the tank.

28. Detroit Tigers

Jake Rogers (C), Spencer Torkelson (1B), Colt Keith (2B), Javier Baez (SS), Gio Urshela (3B)

Colt Keith is the Tigers top prospect, and was signed to a 6-year, $28.6 million extension that, with options, bonuses, and incentives, could turn into a 9-year, $82 million deal.  And that’s before he’s ever played a game in the majors!  Spencer Torkelson is young and has power, but he needs to improve his plate patience and defense.  Gio Urshela is a placeholder, but he will provide excellent defense at third base.  What happened to Javier Baez?  He has not come close to living up to the 6-year, $140 million contract he signed.  Both his offensive and defensive production has declined.  Jake Rogers has some pop in his bat, but his primary value comes with handling the Tigers pitching staff.

27. Pittsburgh Pirates

Henry Davis (C), Rowdy Tellez (1B), Liover Peguero (2B), Oneil Cruz (SS), Ke’Bryan Hayes (3B)

Oneil Cruz followed up his stellar rookie season by missing 2023 with a leg injury.  His youth and skill set (speed and power) should result in a comeback season for the shortstop.  Ke’Bryan Hayes is one of the best defensive third basemen in the game, but he will need to show that 2023 wasn’t an offensive fluke to remain the starter.  Second base was an open competition this spring and Liover Peguero did enough to earn the start, but since he’s not a solid bat questions exist about how long he will hold the job.  Rowdy Tellez has some power, but if he doesn’t hit the ball over the fence his poor speed will clog the basepaths.  Factoring in his low average and poor defense, Tellez might not last the year.  Henry Davis is a young, unproven commodity behind the plate.

26. Washington Nationals

Keibert Ruiz (C), Joey Menesis (1B), Luis Garcia Jr. (2B), C.J. Abrams (SS), Nick Senzel (3B)

The Nationals have one of the worst starting infields in today’s game.  Joey Meneses didn’t make his MLB debut until he was 30 years old.  Having won the starting assignment at 32, it remains to be seen what production he will contribute.  Luis Garcia Jr. showed promise as a rookie in 2020 but has not developed the way the Nats hoped he would.  C.J. Abrams is a bright spot at shortstop.  He is a plus defender and has good speed on the basepaths.  Nick Senzel was a bit of a disappointment in Cincinnati but will be hoping a change of scenery can resurrect his career.  Finally, Keibert Ruiz’s torrid second half in 2023 gives Washington the confidence that, at 25, he is ready to be the full-time starting catcher.

25. Los Angeles Angels

Logan O’Hoppe (C), Nolan Schanuel (1B), Luis Rengifo (2B), Zach Neto (SS), Anthony Rendon (3B)

Logan O’Hoppe has the potential to be a star in this league, but injuries and inconsistency have hampered him so far.  Can he put it all together in 2024?  Nolan Schanuel impressed enough in a 22-game debut last season to earn the starting nod at first base.  A good batting eye and power should make him a staple of the Angels lineup for years.  Luis Rengifo has been a solid utility player for LA, but will the pressures of starting be too much for him to handle?  Zach Neto is another young player that has dealt with injury issues that have hampered his development.  Is he fully healthy and ready to take the next step?  Anthony Rendon is a huge question mark in the lineup.  When healthy he is a solid player, but he has rarely been healthy, as he has never played more than 58 games a season in his 4 years in LA.

24. Colorado Rockies

Elias Diaz (C), Kris Bryant (1B), Brendan Rodgers (2B), Ezequiel Tovar (SS), Ryan McMahon (3B)

Elias Diaz earned his first All-Star nod last year but slumped badly in the second half of the season.  He is 33 years old and started a career-high 116 games last year.  With a solid defensively minded prospect behind him, will Diaz last the season?  Brendan Rogers proved in 2022 that he could handle the starting second base job, but injuries derailed his 2023.  If he’s healthy, Rogers will provide Gold Glove caliber defense.  Ryan McMahon provides 20+ HR power and Gold Glove defense at the Hot Corner.  At 22 years of age, Ezequiel Tovar is a defensive wizard at shortstop.  If his offense catches up to his defense, he will be a star.  Kris Bryant was a star with the Cubs, but injuries have derailed a once-promising career.  Will the move to 1B keep him healthy and productive?

23. San Francisco Giants

Patrick Bailey (C), LaMonte Wade Jr. (1B), Thairo Estrada (2B), Marco Luciano (SS), Matt Chapman (3B)

Patrick Bailey might be a light hitting catcher, but he is one of the best statistical catchers in the game and the Giants pitching staff has an ERA that is almost a full run lower when he’s behind the dish.  Thairo Estrada is a steady presence that can move around the infield if needed.  LaMonte Wade Jr. starts the season as the first baseman, but since the Giants have other options, seeing him moved into a utility role wouldn’t be surprising.  Marco Luciano enters his first full season at short, so it will be interesting to see if he can handle the pressures of the position.  Late in Spring Training, San Francisco signed Matt Chapman to play third.  He is a multi-Gold Glove winner that deepens the lineup.

22. Chicago Cubs

Yan Gomes (C), Michael Busch (1B), Nico Hoerner (2B), Dansby Swanson (SS), Nick Madrigal (3B)

Dansby Swanson is a 2x Gold Glove winner and one of the better shortstops in the league.  Nico Hoerner only has 1 Gold Glove, but it’s almost certain that he’ll win more.  Together they make one of the best middle infielder tandems in the game today.  The questions lie with the corner infielders and behind the plate.  Third, Nick Madrigal is a solid glove with a light bat.  Yan Gomes has an impressive resume (former All-Star, Silver Slugger, World Series title) but is 36 years old.  How much does he have left?  Michael Busch is the first baseman, for now.  Should he stumble, there’s always the chance the Cubs will move Cody Bellinger to first, in which case we’d need to re-evaluate Chicago’s ranking.

21. Miami Marlins

Christian Bethancourt (C), Josh Bell (1B), Luis Arraez (2B), Tim Anderson (SS), Jake Burger (3B)

Jake Burger showed his power potential in 2023 when he smacked 34 HRs.  The biggest issue with the third baseman has always been injuries, as he was 26 during his breakout 2023 season.  Across the diamond Josh Bell will be looking to build upon the success he had after being acquired from Cleveland.  Which Tim Anderson are the Marlins getting this year?  The former All-Star and batting champ or the guy that was statistically the worst offensive player in baseball in 2023.  Christian Bethancourt disappeared for 5 years before re-emerging in 2022.  The time away did not improve the catcher’s offensive production.  He remains a very light hitting backstop.  The shining light of the Miami lineup is Luis Arraez.  The 2x batting champ is a hitting machine that finished 2023 with a .354 batting average.

20. Seattle Mariners

Cal Raleigh (C), Ty France (1B), Jorge Polanco (2B), J.P. Crawford (SS), Luis Urias (3B)

The Mariners are hoping to contend in 2024.  They need to hope for a “best case scenario” when it comes to their infield, because they have some issues.  Cal Raleigh is a dual threat at catcher.  He led all catchers in home runs in 2023 and threw out almost 30% of base stealers.  Not only did J.P. Crawford lead the American League in walks last year, but also added 39 doubles and 19 HRs.  Jorge Polanco is an average player that has shown some promise but has failed to “put it together”.  Luis Urias gets the starting nod at third, but in all probability, he will wind up platooning with Josh Rojas.  After solid seasons in 2021-22, Ty France struggled to duplicate that success in 2023.  Can he rebound in 2024?

19. Tampa Bay Rays

Rene Pinto (C), Yandy Díaz (1B), Brandon Lowe (2B), José Caballero (SS), Isaac Paredes (3B)

They are usually one of the most fundamentally sound organizations in the league, however questions exist.  Yandy Diaz provides contact, some pop, and a great eye.  An MVP is in his future.  Isaac Paredes is a future MVP waiting to happen as well.  He slugged 31 HRs in 2023 along with playing great defense.  Jose Caballero’s glove is up for the defensive challenges of shortstop, but will his bat be up for the offensive task?  Brandon Lowe has dealt with recent injury issues that have hindered his playing time and ability.  Is he fully healthy and can he contribute at a high level?  Rene Pinto is 27 years old with 63 games of experience, that’s enough to understand the Rays’ catching situation.

18. Cincinnati Reds

Tyler Stephenson (C), Jeimer Candelario (1B), Matt McLain (2B), Elly De La Cruz (SS), Noelvi Marte (3B)

Cincinnati has the potential to end the season with a top-10 defense, but right now there are just too many questions that need to be answered first.  Tyler Stephenson had an impressive rookie season, was on pace for a better second year until injuries derailed his season and had a subpar 2023.  Which version will the Reds get in 2024?  Matt McLain and Elly De La Cruz finished 5th and 7th respectively, in the Rookie of the Year voting, will there be a “Sophomore Slump” this year for one or both of them?  Noelvi Marte, who impressed in 35 games last year, will man the Hot Corner.  Can the rookie live up to expectations?

17. Kansas City Royals

Salvador Perez has had a stellar career behind the plate in Kansas City.  He is an 8x All-Star and has won 5 Gold Gloves, but he is 33 years old, and time is not typically kind to catchers.  After signing an 11-year deal, Bobby Witt Jr. is now the face of the organization.  He has the offensive chops to support that designation, but his defense could use improvement.  Maikel Garcia won the third base job last year after playing superb defense.  Michael Massey showed promise in 2021-22 before taking a step back last year.  The Royals have seen enough to be comfortable with him starting the season at second base.  Vinnie Pasquantino was viewed as a promising rookie in 2023 before succumbing to injury.

16. Milwaukee Brewers

William Contreras (C), Rhys Hopkins (1B), Brice Turang (2B), Willy Adames (SS), Joey Ortiz (3B)

Rhys Hoskins has averaged 24 HRs a season in his young career.  After missing 2023 with an ACL injury, will he be able to return to his pre-injury form?  William Contreras is a future star.  He’s excellent at pitch framing and can hit for average.  There is no question regarding Brice Turang’s defense, but there are plenty of questions as to whether he can hit enough to remain the starting second baseman.  Joey Ortiz is a 25-year-old prospect that has upside on both sides of the ball.  Willy Adames is still a 20+ HR threat but his batting average took a tumble in 2023.  He’ll be looking to rebound in an important contract year.

15. Boston Red Sox

Connor Wong (C), Triston Casas (1B), Vaughn Grissom (2B), Trevor Story (SS), Rafael Devers (3B)

Rafael Devers is not the greatest defensive third baseman but when you hit 98 HRs with 301 RBIs over the last three seasons, not including 2024, you can get away with a lot.  Trevor Story was once a star, hitting 123 HRs in his first 4 seasons.  The last couple of years have not been as kind, as the shortstop has dealt with injuries and subpar play.  Can he recover his old form?  There is a lot of hype over Vaughn Grissom, but as with any rookie (he only has 64 games of experience), there are always questions.  As a rookie, Triston Casas excelled in the second half of 2023.  If Boston gets that production, they’ll be happy.  Connor Wong offers a strong defensive game but little else.

14. New York Yankees

Lee Trevino (C), Anthony Rizzo (1B), Gleybar Torres (2B), Anthony Volpe (SS), DJ LeMahieu (3B)

The Yankees infield is filled with questions?  Is Rizzo fully recovered from last year’s concussion?  Can LeMahieu rediscover his stroke or is he on the decline?  Will Volpe improve on his rookie campaign?  Does free agency motivate Torres to have a solid season?  While Lee Trevino provides Gold Glove quality defense behind the plate, he will split time with rookie Austin Wells, which brings a whole new set of issues.  They have too many questions to be ranked higher, but too many veterans to be lower.  If the Yankees enjoy good health and the young players continue to progress, they could have a top 10 defense.

13. Toronto Blue Jays

Alejandro Kirk (C), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Davis Schnieder (2B), Bo Bichette (SS), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (3B)

Isiah Kiner-Falefa replaces the departed Matt Chapman, and while he cannot replace Chapman’s offensive production, IKF is an above-average defender, winning a Gold Glove in 2020.  There’s no question that Bo Bichette is one of the better offensive players in the AL, but he has steadily improved his defensive prowess as well.  Vlad Guerrero Jr. hit a career-high 48 HRs in 2021, and fans have expected that production yearly, despite hitting 32 and 26 HRs the last two seasons while continuing to earn All-Star nods.  Davis Schneider, a rookie who has 35 games of experience, needs to show he can handle Major League pitching.  Alejandro Kirk is a Gold Glove-caliber receiver, but like many other young players, needs to make adjustments against quality pitching.

12. Baltimore Orioles

Adley Rutschman (C), Ryan O’Hearn (1B), Jordan Westburg (2B), Jorge Mateo (SS), Gunnar Henderson (3B)

The Orioles are a team on the rise and their infield is a big reason why.  After only two seasons catcher Adley Rutschman is turning into a star.  The face of the franchise is a rock behind the plate.  Gunnar Henderson was the unanimous Rookie of the Year in 2023 and is another young star for the Orioles.  As if they don’t have enough talent, Jordan Westburg is a 25-year-old who is a solid defensive player.  Ryan O’Hearn is an adequate first baseman that will spend most of his playing time in a platoon situation.  As for shortstop, it really doesn’t matter who it is now.  What matters is who it will be.  Jackson Holliday is another young promising player on the cusp of making his MLB debut.

11. Minnesota Twins

Ryan Jeffers (C), Carlos Santana (1B), Edouard Julien (2B), Carlos Correa (SS), Royce Lewis (3B)

Ryan Jeffers showed enough in 2023 to earn himself a share of the starting catching job.  His offensive and defensive breakthrough will allow him to platoon with Christian Vazquez, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jeffers take over as the full-time starter in 2024.  Carlos Santana is still a productive first baseman, but at 37 years old, how much can be expected of him?  The Twins saw enough of Edouard Julien in his rookie season to turn over the starting second base job to him, but as with many younger players, will he be able to adjust to Major League pitching?  Royce Lewis has been limited to 118 games over the last two seasons, but if he can remain on the field, he has the potential to be one of the league’s best third basemen.  Carlos Correa had a subpar 2023 but he is still just 29 years old and one of the best shortstops in the game.  It is not unreasonable to expect a bounce-back season from Correa.

10. Cleveland Guardians

Bo Naylor (C), Kyle Manzardo (1B), Andrés Giménez (2B), Brayan Rocchio (SS), José Ramírez (3B)

Let’s start with the big question, what can the Guardians expect from rookies Kyle Manzardo and Brayan Rocchio?  Manzardo has shown promise, but he’s battled injuries and had a disappointing 2023 season in the minors.  Rocchio is another youngster that has upside but did not impress in a 23-game audition last year.  Ramirez and Gimenez are both terrific defenders, with the second baseman being a multi-Gold Glove winner.  Bo Naylor has had an up-and-down start to his career but has been handed the starting reins this year, making three rookies in the starting infield.

9. St. Louis Cardinals

Willson Contreras (C), Paul Goldschmidt (1B), Nolan Gorman (2B), Masyn Winn (SS), Nolan Arenado (3B)

The Cardinals seem comfortable with Willson Contreras behind the dish.  The now full-time catcher has had five seasons with 20+ HRs.  Nolan Gorman has the potential to be a consistent middle-of-the-order threat, but it remains to be seen if his defense is Major League-ready.  Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, perennial All-Stars (15 combined), Gold Glove winners (14 combined), and MVP (Goldschmidt), have the corner infield spots locked up.  Masyn Winn is the big question for St. Louis.  There are no issues with his defense, but he underwhelmed with the bat during a 37-game audition in 2023.

8. Arizona Diamondbacks

Gabriel Moreno (C), Christian Walker (1B), Ketel Marte (2B), Geraldo Perdoma (SS), Eugenio Suarez (3B)

Ketel Marte is an all-world talent at second base.  He’s one of the best second basemen in the game and has proven to not wilt under postseason pressure.  At only 24 years old, Gabriel Moreno is already one of the best defensive catchers in baseball, with the offensive ability to be a star.  It appears that Christian Walker is a late bloomer, having his best seasons, offensively and defensively, at age 31 and 32.  Can that trend continue?   Eugenio Suarez provides good power from the Hot Corner, but a ton of strikeouts.  Geraldo Perdomo slumped badly in the second half of 2023, and with poor offensive metrics, he seems to be the one with the shortest leash.

7. San Diego Padres

Luis Campusano (C), Jake Cronenworth (1B), Xander Bogaerts (2B), Ha-Seong Kim (SS), Manny Machado (3B)

Luis Campusano has the potential to be a high-impact player, but the key word there is potential.  Despite being a top prospect, injuries and poor defense have prevented his ascent to the Major Leagues.  There are no offensive worries when it comes to Machado and Bogaerts, and since Machado is a Gold Glove-caliber defender, the defense shouldn’t be an issue either.  Kim is a sure-handed defender up the middle that provides some production from the bottom of the order.  If there is a hole in the lineup, it’s Cronenworth.  He doesn’t provide a ton of offensive production, but he should be able to handle the move to first.

6. New York Mets

Francisco Alvarez (C), Pete Alonso (1B), Jeff McNeil (2B), Francisco Lindor (SS), Brett Baty (3B)

From an offensive standpoint, the Mets’ infield is stacked.  Pete Alonso is a consistent 50 HR threat, Francisco Lindor was a 30/30 player in 2023, Francisco Alvarez hit 25 HRs in his rookie season, and while Jeff McNeil might not hit the heights of his 2022 season, he provides a solid bat at second base.  Brett Baty has a lot of upside but has yet to live up to his potential.  Defensively, Alvarez is probably the best of the group.  That’s not to say that the rest of the infield is bad, as Lindor has won two Gold Gloves, but those were with Cleveland.

5. Houston Astros

Yainer Diaz (C), José Abreu (1B), Jose Altuve (2B), Jeremy Peña (SS), Alex Bregman (3B)

The Astros’ order revolves around Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman for a reason, they are both superstar players.  Altuve is building a Hall of Fame career and Bregman is one of the most productive third basemen in the game.  Houston is hoping that Abreu can have a bounce-back season, contact-wise, to earn his 3-year, $58.5 million deal.  Jeremy Pena provides elite defense with an inconsistent bat.  Yainer Diaz showed enough promise during his rookie season, both at and behind the plate to win the starting catcher’s job.

4. Los Angeles Dodgers

Will Smith (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Mookie Betts (2B), Gavin Lux (SS), Max Muncy (3B)

Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts are both perennial All-Stars and two of the best players in Major League Baseball.  The right side of the Dodgers infield might just be the best in the game.  Max Muncy is a DH/1B who has been moved to 3B, which presents a problem for LA because he is a poor defender.  Lux returns after missing last season with an injury.  Can he return to his breakout 2022 season?  Will Smith is a threat with the bat and one of the better defensive catchers in the game.

3. Philadelphia Phillies

JJ Realmuto (C), Bryce Harper (1B), Bryson Stott (2B), Trea Turner (SS), Alec Bohm (3B)

Despite the recent move to first base, Bryce Harper played decent defense.  While he is not a Gold Glove-caliber 1B, with more time there, he will certainly be able to hold his own.  Bryson Stott is one of the best defensive second basemen in the game today.  Trea Turner is making $300 million from the Phillies for a reason, and that’s to be an All-Star caliber, two-way player.  Even at 32, J.T. Realmuto is one of the best catchers in the game, as he’s won 2 Gold Gloves and 2 Silver Sluggers over the last 5 seasons (2024 not included).

2. Atlanta Braves

Sean Murphy (C), Matt Olson (1B), Ozzie Albies (2B), Orlando Arcia (SS), Austin Riley (3B)

It’s not a surprise considering that the Braves are a contender for a World Series championship, as they have built one of the best infields in the game.  Matt Olson and Austin Riley combined for 91 HRS and 236 RBIs in 2023, making them one of the best 1-2 punches in any lineup.  Ozzie Albies hit 33 HRs with 109 RBIs last year, and he is just starting to enter his prime years.  Orlando Arcia was a tale of two seasons in 2023, earning an All-Star bid from his first half before slumping in the second half.  Murphy provides a solid bat and was a former Gold Glove winner.

1. Texas Rangers

Jonah Heim (C), Nathaniel Lowe (1B), Marcus Semien (2B), Corey Seager (SS), Josh Jung (3B)

Critics scoffed at Texas when they spent $500 million on Marcus Semien and Corey Seager who both played the same primary position.  After seeing their production on the way to the Rangers’ first World Series title, no one’s laughing now.  Josh Jung provides a steady bat in the lineup but his ability to remain healthy has always been a question.  Nathaniel Lowe is a low-cost, high-production player that provides Gold Glove defense at first base.  Behind the plate, Jonah Heim was an All-Star and a Gold Glove winner in 2023.
