Exodus Travel

Exodus Travels has been providing extraordinary and thrilling adventure vacations in Europe for 45 years. They’ve always believed that traveling to a new country, getting to know a new culture, or simply being in a completely new environment – whether it’s a mountain range, desert, or jungle – is unrivaled. We completely agree that there is something distinctive about travel in general.

Exodus Travel took its first group of visitors to the Himalayan Mountains 45 years ago and has since expanded to offer over 500 itineraries in over 90 countries. This is the radiance that shines when experience meets a desire to travel. This is why they can provide their clients with nothing but breathtaking and unforgettable adventures.

This tour is fairly active, as you will be set out on foot for a 4-hour day walk. During your trek, you will see Giant tree ferns that can grow to be thirteen meters tall and visit a viewpoint that offers an awe-inspiring view of sheer sandstone cliffs that rise high above an endless expanse of the tropical jungle. On your visit to Amboró National Park, you will be amazed by its incredible biodiversity.

The park is situated at the meeting point of three major ecological zones: the Amazon, the Chaco, and the Andes, resulting in a highly diverse ecosystem. Let us blow your mind a little: Amboró National Park houses over 800 bird species, 117 mammal species, and 150 reptile and amphibian species.

It also has over 5,000 plant species, many of which are rare or endemic. In fact, this magical Park is regarded as one of the world’s most biodiverse areas.

The Yungas cloud forest, found at higher elevations and distinguished by a dense canopy of trees, foggy conditions, and a high degree of endemism, is one of the park’s most distinctive features. You might be lucky enough to see some unusual species, such as the Bolivian buff-breasted earth creeper and the Bolivian blackbird. Your visit here will be way worth it.

You will go to El Fuerte de Samaipata, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the eastern Andes of Bolivia. It is thought to have been inhabited by a variety of cultures, including the Chané, Inca, and Spanish.

This may be why it is regarded as a significant example of pre-Columbian and European cultural fusion in the Andean region. With its one-of-a-kind rock carvings depicting mythological figures, animals, and geometric designs, you’re bound to learn a lot about the history and cultures housed in this ancient site.

The tour takes a group of 16 between the ages of 16 to 99 years old. It is fully guided and family-friendly as well. It covers your accommodation, meals and transportation and costs $6579 per person for 15 days.

World Expeditions

World Expeditions, founded in 1975, is a leading small-group travel company. For more than 48 years, the company has operated under the simple premise of providing extraordinary adventures for small groups of travelers while emphasizing responsible tourism and community support.

This philosophy is even stronger today, with itineraries spanning every continent, ranging from multi-day authentic adventures and cultural treks to exploring unique and untouched natural beauties through inspiring journeys and building connections with the locals along the way.

World Expedition is supported by some of the world’s most experienced and respected travelers and is known for its responsible travel initiatives, which remain at the heart of its global operations. They promise to keep innovating groundbreaking itineraries, reinventing standards, and taking their travelers off the beaten path on each adventure.

This thrilling adventure begins in La Paz and journeys on to the Tiahuanaco archaeological site, which was the administrative and religious heart of the pre-Incan civilization that began in the year 237 BC. The Gate of the Sun, a massive stone archway carved from a single piece of Andean granite, is one of this ancient brilliance’s unique features.

It is estimated to weigh around ten tons and is decorated with intricate carvings of mythological figures and astronomical symbols like the sun and stars. It is regarded as a masterpiece of Andean art and is thought to have been created between 400 and 1000 AD by the Tiahuanaco culture.

You will get the chance to fully appreciate this magnificent art by visiting the nearby museums, which house some of the artifacts and cultural treasures discovered at the site.

Are you up for an adventure that will take you to a different world? Or at least at the edge of Bolivia? Then Salar de Uyuni is the place for you, you will drive across the vast salt flats in a 4×4 vehicle which is the most unique activity you can do there!

Imagine yourself in a tough, all-terrain vehicle, surrounded by miles and miles of gleaming white salt crust stretching out in every direction as far as your eyes can see. The sun shines down on you, making the salt sparkle like diamonds, and the only sound you hear is the crunching of salt beneath the speeding tires across the flats.

But that isn’t all. You’ll see otherworldly sights as you explore this breathtaking landscape, such as the cactus-covered island of Incahuasi rising up out of the salt, or the “mirror effect,” which occurs when a thin layer of water overlays the flats, creating a stunning reflection of the sky and clouds above.

And when the sun goes down, prepare for an even more unforgettable adventure. You’ll stay in a salt hotel, complete with salt walls and furniture, and gaze up at the starry night sky, uninterrupted by city lights. It’s an unforgettable, surreal and beautiful experience.

The tour includes 14 people ranging in age from 16 to 80. It is fully guided and also suitable for families. It costs $2190 per person for 8 days and includes lodging, meals, and transportation.

11 of the best things to do in Bolivia with kids

Experience the best of Bolivia as a family with this guide to traveling there with kids © Stephen Lux / Getty Images

From taking a bath in thermal rivers to a fascinating ride on a cable car,  Bolivia has plenty of safe and fun attractions for all ages.

Discover breathtaking sceneries and enjoy natural experiences on a family trip where no one is going to get bored. Here's everything you need to know about traveling in Bolivia with kids.

Is Bolivia good for kids?

Bolivia is an off-the-beaten-track country, which means tourist attractions are uncrowded making them ideal for moving around with a larger group.

Formula, baby food and nappies are easy to find in the cities, and most of the hotels have family rooms or can add beds/cradles to the room.

Public facilities are generally limited, but you should find diaper changing stations in airports, some bus stations, and mid- to high-end restaurants.

Squares and public parks are generally accessible in all cities, but most of the streets are not walkable with a stroller. Bring one resistant enough to go cope with potholes and uneven paving, or consider using a baby carrier instead.

Public buses are uncomfortable and usually full, airports and bus stations don’t have a play area, and in small towns, formula and baby food are hard to find. Wherever you go, though, people are kid-friendly and will be willing to help if needed.

Ready to start planning your family trip? Here's our guide to the best time to visit

A boy wearing a hat blows a pinwheel windmill in a city

Where is best in Bolivia for kids?

Bolivia is full of wonderful natural sites that kids will enjoy. For all ages, Aguas Calientes hot springs in the east of Santa Cruz are a top attraction, and  Uyuni Salt Flats can be an incredible and memorable experience for kids, especially in the rainy season , when the sky is reflected in the water.

Best things to do in Bolivia with babies and toddlers

Soak in the hot springs in chiquitania.

Aguas Calientes is a small town located 436km (270 miles) east of  Santa Cruz . This wonderful spot has a thermal water river that is less than 75cm (2.5ft) deep with a temperature around 38ºC (100ºF).

Toddlers can safely explore tropical nature here while keeping an eye out for little fish. There are hotels with family facilities, such as high chairs, large rooms, and a small play area, and it's best to visit on weekdays when it's less crowded.

Relax in Bolivia's urban parks

Bolivia has several large parks that will keep the kids busy. Spend the day at the playground, take a nap under the shade of a tree or enjoy a family picnic.

Parque Los Mangales in Santa Cruz is one of the most-visited by families and Parque de la Familia in  Cochabamba is popular at night with its light shows and dancing waters.

Visit a farm and feed animals

There are few things that little children love more than animals and Bolivia has a couple of farms that welcome families. Ranchito Feliz , a 15-minute drive away from the main plaza in Tarija , will give your kids a marvelous hands-on experience feeding chickens, sheep, rabbits and horses.

Entry costs US$1 should be booked at least one day before.

We can help you choose where to go in Bolivia with our guide to the top places to visit

A huge dinosaur model roaring

Best things to do in Bolivia with kids

See life-size dinos at sucre's parque cretácico.

Parque Cretácico holds one of the world’s largest collections of fossilized dinosaur footprints and has life-size models of huge dinosaurs that will amaze. Located 5km (3 miles) away from  Sucre , hop on the shuttle bus service that runs from the main square every hour.

Explore space at Tarija's observatory

Tarija's  Observatorio Astronómico Nacional – the country’s first observatory – is an incredible place where kids get a hands-on learning experience about space exploration and the galaxy.

There’s a large telescope children can peek thorough and a fantastic planetarium. It’s best to call ahead before heading out.

Spend the day in nature at Biocentro Guembé near Santa Cruz

Spend an amazing day in nature at  Biocentro Güembé  without making a long trip. Approximately a 15-minute drive from the business zone of Santa Cruz, it includes a butterfly sanctuary, an aviary, lagoons and a swamp.

Take a tour with a biologist or roam the grounds at your own pace. End the day at any of the 13 pools on the property or opt for a meal with fresh produce from the surrounding gardens.

Ride the cable car in La Paz

Riding the world’s longest urban cable car network is a popular attraction for children during a visit to  La Paz . The thrilling views of the city and the snow-capped mountains in the distance won’t be forgotten.

Some stations have attractions nearby like Mother Earth Park, in Central Station of the Red Line, which has dancing waters and playgrounds, that will allow kids to run around before getting back into the cabin.

Getting around in Bolivia can be a challenge. Here are our top transportation tips

Best things to do in Bolivia with tweens and teenagers

Snap some photos on the uyuni salt flats.

Visit the famous Uyuni Salt Flats in the rainy season (December to February) to see the stunning sunset or the night sky reflecting into the water.

Social-media crazed teenagers can spend hours taking Instagrammable photos and vidoes for all their friends.

Local tip: If you have time, it’s a good idea to wait a few days to get acclimatized to the altitude before heading to Bolivia’s top tourist attraction .

Take a walk in Moon Valley near La Paz

Once in the city of La Paz, Valle de la Luna is a must-see attraction. This surreal geological formation similar to the craters of the moon can be explored in two trekking circuits, taking from 15 to 45 minutes, for amazing views.

Located 10km (6 miles) from the center of La Paz, visit with a tour operator or by taking a taxi or bus.

Stay in the tropical wilderness of Amboró National Park

A stay at the  Refugio de Los Volcanes , in Amboró National Park, is a fascinating experience for wilderness seekers.

This lodge is in the tropical forest, 68km (42 miles) from the city of Santa Cruz. It has several hiking trails at different levels of difficulty, as well as waterfalls and natural pools.

Go on a journey into the jungle

One on the bucket lists for more adventurous tweens and teens is getting into the heart of the  Amazon to admire the exotic species found there.

Departing from the town of Rurrenabaque, you can take a three-day wildlife safari by canoe, where you might spot several species of birds, monkeys, capybaras, snakes, caimans and pink dolphins. Prices vary but expect to pay around US$150 per person per night, including accommodation, food and transportation.

Planning tips

If traveling with children and only one of the parents in Bolivia, you need to carry a permit issued by an Ombudsman’s Office – you'll find at least one in every city, normally located in bus stations – where you have to present identification documents and fill out a form.

The permit is free and valid for multiple trips up to one to three months. It may not be required for all trips, but make sure you have it along with your other travel documents when traveling by plane, as you may not be authorized to board without it. A permit is not required for children traveling with both of their parents.

UN-led panel aims to tackle abuses linked to mining for ‘critical minerals’

Panel of nearly 100 countries to draw up guidelines for industries that mine raw materials used in low-carbon technology

A UN-led panel of nearly 100 countries is to draw up new guidelines to prevent some of the environmental damage and human rights abuses associated with mining for “critical minerals”.

Mining for some of the key raw materials used in low-carbon technology, such as solar panels and electric vehicles, has been associated with human rights abuses, child labour and violence, as well as grave environmental damage .

Cobalt mining, for instance, has led to an upsurge in illegal labour and human rights violations, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Copper mining has also led to severe pollution and environmental damage in some regions.

The global supply chain for other critical minerals , such as the rare earths needed for renewable energy production , is also increasingly a matter of concern for governments as they shift their economies to a low-carbon footing.

António Guterres, the secretary general of the UN, has gathered a panel of developed and developing countries with interests in the extraction and consumption of critical minerals with instructions to draw up a set of guidelines for the industries.

“A world powered by renewables is a world hungry for critical minerals,” said Guterres at the launch of the initiative on Friday. “For developing countries, critical minerals are a critical opportunity, to create jobs, diversify economies, and dramatically boost revenues. But only if they are managed properly.”

Addressing concerns that the scramble for raw materials had been disastrous for some, he said: “The race to net zero cannot trample over the poor. The renewables revolution is happening, but we must guide it towards justice.”

The guidelines drawn up by the panel will only be voluntary and are likely to rely heavily on big companies policing their own supply chains.

Laura Kelly, the head of sustainable markets at the International Institute for Environment and Development thinktank, said: “This is a good first step because at the moment, each country is doing its own thing in the rush to lock in access to critical minerals.

“But the fact that these will only be voluntary principles means there’ll be no enforcement mechanism for whatever guidelines are developed. In the end, voluntary guidelines are only as good as those willing to commit to them.”

She also noted that there was to be only limited input from Indigenous people, and that local people’s views must be taken into account.

The panel, which will produce the first draft of the guidelines ahead of the UN general assembly this September, will be chaired by South Africa and the European Commission.

Most of the world’s biggest producers are included on the panel, which comprises 21 countries plus the EU and the African Union, including Australia, Indonesia, Colombia and Chile. Many of the biggest consumers, including China, the US and the UK, are also onboard.

after newsletter promotion

Institutions such as the World Bank, the International Energy Agency, civil society groups and the biggest global trade association for mineral producers, which represents about 40% of the global supply, are also involved. Russia is absent, as are Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and many smaller developing countries.

The critical minerals they will focus on include copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt and rare earth elements such as yttrium, ytterbium and neodymium. These are essential components for wind turbines, solar panels, electric vehicles and battery storage.

Governments agreed last year at the Cop28 climate summit to triple renewable energy generation capacity globally by 2030. Demand for critical minerals is expected to more than triple as a result.

Nozipho Joyce Mxakato-Diseko, the South African co-chair of the UN panel on critical energy transition minerals, said there was a gap in the governance of global mineral resources that urgently needed to be filled.

“The objective of the panel is to build trust and certainty towards harnessing the potential of these minerals to be utilised to unlock shared prosperity, leaving no one and no place behind,” she said.

Ditte Juul Jørgensen, the EU’s director general for energy and the other co-chair, said: “The global energy goals we all agreed at Cop28 require a rapid scale-up in the manufacturing and deployment of renewables globally, and critical energy transition minerals. [We will draw up] principles to ensure a fair and transparent approach globally and for local communities.”

Why you might have heard Paul Simon’s ‘The Sound of Silence’ at Spanish Mass

(RNS) — One song has stuck with Julio Cuellar Gonzales for practically his entire life. Among his first memories of church in the 1970s in Villa Serrano, a town in the Bolivian region of Chuquisaca, Cuellar remembers singing a specific version of the Our Father.

At the time, Cuellar thought it was written by a priest. He didn’t imagine that the beloved Our Father’s tune was actually written by Paul Simon for Simon & Garfunkel’s 1960s hit “The Sound of Silence.”

The words were different from the typical Our Father prayer. “Our Father, who art in those who truly love. May the kingdom that you promised us come soon to our hearts. The love that your son left us, may that love dwell in us,” began the song that Cuellar sang in Spanish. In the middle of the song, as a zampoña, a traditional Andean pan flute, played the melody, parishioners said the traditional Our Father together with the words from Matthew 6.

From Villa Serrano, “The Sound of Silence” Our Father followed Cuellar when he moved to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, the largest city in Bolivia. “This was one of the people’s favorite songs and ours too,” he said.

This content is written and produced by Religion News Service and distributed by The Associated Press. RNS and AP partner on some religion news content. RNS is solely responsible for this story.

Years later, after working as a musician on cruise ships in Mexico and then immigrating to Virginia, he found a Spanish Mass and heard it again. “It connected me to my childhood,” he said.

Pedro Rubalcava, the director of Oregon Catholic Press’ label group, said that “The Sound of Silence” version of the Our Father has been widespread throughout Latin America and U.S. Latino communities for the last few decades. There are variations in the words and instrumentation in different communities.

For Cuellar, even when he finally learned the tune’s origin, it still felt Andean to him: “It sounds to me like the melancholy, the melody, the sweetness of the music of the Andes.”

While there’s no proof that Simon took inspiration for “The Sound of Silence” from the Andes, he later used an Andean tune in “El Condor Pasa,” a single on Simon & Garfunkel’s Grammy-winning 1970 album, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”

While Simon recorded the vocals with permission over a recording by a French Andean band, Los Incas, believing that the melody came from a folk tune, the melody actually came from Daniel Alomía Robles’ 1913 Peruvian musical theater piece called “El Cóndor Pasa.”

Valdimar Hafstein, a professor of folkloristics/ethnology at the University of Iceland, wrote in a 2018 book, “Making Intangible Heritage: El Condor Pasa and Other Stories From UNESCO,” that, given Robles’ travel through the Amazon and Andes to collect myths and music, part of a widespread tradition of “collector-composers,” it can be hard to describe the tune as either Robles’ original or an arrangement.

When Robles’ son sued Simon because his father’s composition was registered in the U.S. copyright system, Simon settled, with the son calling it “almost a friendly case.”

“The Sound of Silence” Our Father came back into Cuellar’s life when he decided to begin recording Christian music after years of focusing on secular music. “I felt like I had a debt to the Lord for the gift of the music,” Cuellar explained. When he told the Episcopal church where he was a music minister that he planned to make a record, people kept coming up to him after Mass asking for a recording of the Our Father.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, as Cuellar took walks in the woods around Virginia’s Lake Braddock to connect with God and escape the fear and uncertainty, he was inspired to ask his wife to film him singing the Our Father by a stream.

“We need something that will give us strength,” Cuellar told her. After his friend with experience in video editing helped polish the video, he posted it to YouTube “as a cover” because he wasn’t the author. Among many other versions of “The Sound of Silence” Our Father, Cuellar’s now has more than 23 million views.

“I’ve made music my whole life,” Cuellar said. “I’ve never reached the number of people that I’ve been able to reach with this marvelous work from the maestro Paul Simon.”

“It’s a miracle from God. It’s a message from God what has happened with” the song, Cuellar said.

But not everybody likes the version of the Our Father. Cuellar said that, while the positive comments vastly outnumber the negative, he’s heard people call it a “diabolical song,” criticizing everything from the changed words in the Our Father to the Andean instrumentation. Other people simply say that it’s not appropriate for services.

“I’m a child of God, and the devil doesn’t arrive at my house because God is here,” Cuellar said. “I’m not an expert in Christian music, but I’m an obedient person who tries to listen to the voice of God in the silence.”

Rubalcava said that Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Pérez has taught that Catholics should not sing the version for a few reasons. First, the words to the Our Father should not be changed, especially in the liturgy. Secondly, “The Sound of Silence” forms part of the soundtrack for “The Graduate,” a 1967 movie where an extramarital affair is a major storyline.

Ireri E. Chávez-Bárcenas, an assistant professor of music at Bowdoin College and a musicologist who studies sacred song in the Hispanic world, said that the debate around the Our Father with the melody of “The Sound of Silence” draws on centuries-old controversy.

Setting a liturgical or devotional text to a known secular melody has been a “common technique used by the Catholic Church since before the Middle Ages,” Chávez-Bárcenas told Religion News Service in an email, explaining that the technique is called contrafactum.

However, Chávez-Bárcenas said the technique has always been controversial, with the best known policies against it coming during the Counter-Reformation. “In Latin America, Franciscans and Jesuits always advocated for the adaptation of liturgical texts in the local languages, songs, and musical styles,” Chávez-Bárcenas wrote.

“The Sound of Silence” is just one instance of Latino Catholics’ use of pop song melodies for devotional and liturgical music, Rubalcava said, citing an offertory song called “Saber que Vendrás” that uses Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” as its tune, various liturgical adaptations of “Jesus Christ Superstar” melodies and a Marian devotional song “Mi Virgen Bella” that uses the melody of Juan Gabriel’s “Amor Eterno.”

“It’s illegal because you’re plagiarizing, and probably without permission,” said Rubalcava, saying copyright law is another issue with “The Sound of Silence” version of the Our Father.

Rubalcava said that these sacred versions of popular songs are passed from one church musician to another informally without official approval from broader church structures. After the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago was found guilty in 1984 of illegally photocopying the music of a religious composer, the U.S. Catholic bishops have been very serious about respecting copyright permissions, Rubalcava said.

There’s an attitude, Rubalcava said, that exists everywhere but particularly in Latin America “that anything for God should be free.” Rubalcava said, “People don’t think there’s a good reason for paying for composers, artists that are trying to make a living or trying to raise money to record some music.”

Rubalcava said that liturgical, musical and theological formation is needed so that Catholics respect that “the laborer gets their due.”

E. Michael Harrington, a professor in music copyright and intellectual property matters at Berklee Online, said that what was going on was “a problem,” but “not a really serious one.”

“Technically, they’re making a derivative work,” Harrington explained. “If you take someone else’s copyrighted material, something they authored and they own the copyright in, if you take that and change it, you’re violating their rights.”

To add new words to “The Sound of Silence” melody, musicians need to get permission from the publisher, Harrington said.

But, Harrington explained, the publisher likely will not sue “because it’s an organic thing that was unplanned and people are doing it, but they’re not profiting.”

Harrington said church leaders were taking the right steps by not endorsing the use of the melody, but he also said that they could seek a license from the publisher if they were interested in using it.

Reading the comments on his video, Cuellar sees his involvement with the Our Father as serving God. “It’s a song that touches the heart,” he said. The comments say things like, “This song gives me peace. This song gives me hope. It gives me strength.”

At Exodus, we know what makes you tick when it comes to holidays. It’s a desire shared by so many others. A yearning to visit new places and come home with a real sense of what they’re all about. This means delving into local traditions, cultures, cuisine, lifestyles – anything that contributes to its unique identity. At the same time, we always remember that we are only guests. So we travel courteously and respectfully, in smaller groups to minimise our impact, to ensure that every Exodus holiday is a beneficial experience for everyone involved.

This is a philosophy we take with us around the world, helping you reach some incredible destinations on 500 itineraries across over 90 separate countries. We also strive to provide as much flexibility and choice as we possibly can, making it simple for you to experience a very different holiday.

Exodus started life on 4 February 1974 when two friends got together to provide an overland truck to travel to the Minaret of Jam, deep in the heart of the Hindu Kush, the most inaccessible of the world’s great monuments.

All our office staff have a passion for travel and adventure, and between us we’ve notched up experience that spans 171 different countries. That’s not all. In their former lives, our team members have been professional archaeologists, wildlife guides, overland drivers, mountain leaders, diving and ski specialists and mountain bike gurus – so no-one is better placed to create tours that appeal to a wide range of specialist interests.

Their care in putting all the details in place really shines through too. Extensive planning, research, fact-finding and training are a sign of our commitment to providing a holiday where your enjoyment, value for money and safety come first. It’s a telling reason why we remain one of the leading worldwide adventure tour companies. It is no exaggeration to say that our tour leaders can make a world of difference to the enjoyment of your holiday – so we choose them carefully. The result is that, in 2013, 93% of our clients stated that their leader exceeded their expectations. Where possible, we train and employ local leaders because they can provide invaluable insights that enrich the trip. What’s more, this investment in local staff really helps us benefit both them and their community.

If You Change Your Booking

If, after our Booking Confirmation has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the lead name or your travel agent. You will be asked to pay an administration charge of $60, and any further cost we incur in making this alteration (including those charged by third party suppliers who provide the component parts of your booking).  You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible. You can transfer your booking to another person, who satisfies all the conditions that apply to this booking, by giving us notice in writing at least 7 days before departure provided that the new lead passenger accepts the transfer and these Terms and Conditions. Both you and the new traveler are responsible for paying all costs we incur in making the transfer. Please bear in mind that certain airlines and other transport providers treat changes as a cancellation and charge accordingly, up to 100% of the cost for that part of the arrangement. Where applicable these charges will be passed on to you.

If We Cancel Your Booking

Exodus reserves the right to cancel an itinerary before departure for any reason whatsoever, including too few participants ,logistical problems, a Force Majeure Event (as defined in Section 8), or any other circumstances that may make operation of the trip inadvisable. All trip payments received will be promptly refunded, and this refund will be the limit of Exodus’s liability without any further obligation on Exodus’s part. Exodus is not responsible for any expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip, including non-refundable or penalty-carrying airline tickets, special clothing, visa or passport fees, or other trip-related expenses.

If We Change Your Booking

Changes to the price. We can change your holiday price after you’ve booked, only in certain circumstances. Changes in the price of the carriage of passengers resulting from changes to the cost of fuel or other power sources, the level of taxes or fees imposed by third parties including tourist taxes, landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports, or exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked.

Changes other than the price. It is a term of your booking that we are able to make changes to any aspect of your booking. If the change is insignificant, we will ensure that you are notified about it. Examples of insignificant changes include alteration of your accommodation to another of the same or higher standard. If we are forced by circumstances beyond our control to alter significantly any of the main characteristics of the travel services that make up your package you will have the rights set out below. 2.1 - We will contact you and you will have the choice of accepting the change or having a refund of all monies paid. You can also accept an alternative holiday, where we offer one (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value). We will tell you the procedure for making your choice. Please read any notification of changes carefully and respond promptly as if you do not respond to us within the timescale given your booking may be canceled. 2.2 - If you choose to accept a refund then that is the only liability we have and we will not be liable for any further sums, compensation or otherwise and you are advised to adequately insure yourselves against cancellation for any reason

Please note that insurance premiums and amendments charges are not refundable in any circumstances.

Once you have put down a deposit for a tour, you are unable to cancel and re-book within a promotional period and we reserve the right to amend the pricing on any new booking you make within that time. If you cancel a tour and book the same tour under a promotional code, we reserve the right to decline the booking.

Important Note: Certain arrangements may not be amended after they have been confirmed and any alteration or cancellation could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements in addition to the charge above.

If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

Where possible, we will deduct the cancellation charge(s) from any monies you have already paid to us.
