Cruise Lanyards – WHY & WHERE to buy these Cruise Essentials

Cruise Lanyards are an essential item to add to your packing list. We’ll tell you why you need these , what to look for , and where to buy the best lanyards for your cruise ship key cards.

Why do we need Cruise Lanyards?

A few reasons these are a “cruise essential” to add to your packing list.

The first time we cruised, we immediately noticed something similar about other passengers ( other than the cold drinks and big smiles ). They had lanyards for their key cards.

At first, I figured these were issued by the cruise ship. I checked my cabin hoping I’d find one waiting for me. No luck!

How else would this many people have lanyards? But, then I noticed that the sizes, styles, and complexity varied significantly. These weren’t standard issue. People brought these from off the ship. We’d felt like we missed a memo or something.

As a rookie, I didn’t immediately understand why you’d need a cruise lanyard. I soon found out.

Convenience

I’d love to do the following study: “how many times per day do I use my cruise key card?”

Here are just a few examples of when you’ll need it.

Expect to pull your cruise ship ID out of your pocket more than 50 times per day !

You’ll be changing outfits constantly. Whether headed to the pool, dinner, or dancing, you’ll have on a new set of digs with a different set of pockets. Some outfits (hey, ladies) won’t even have pockets. You’ll be constantly fishing for your cruise key card . At a packed bar, you don’t want to be “that guy” holding up your fellow passenger’s next mojito.

Consistency is key! Cruise lanyards are the answer. You’ll always know where to find your ID. Some lanyards even offer retractable reels or detachable buckets for added speed and convenience.

Carnival Cruise Line Packing List

Save time and money

We lost a cruise key card on that first cruise. Getting a replacement didn’t cost any money, fortunately (some cruise lines charge a fee), but it did cost over an hour of precious cruise time . The customer service line was about 12 people deep. As I stood there listening to cranky cruisers arguing about gratuity, I vowed to never return. I could picture my husband smiling from the Lido Bar and made a note to punch him in the arm, which I later delivered even though completely my own fault.

Throughout the week, each of us left our cruise key cards in the room on several occasions. Sometimes we’d notice when halfway down the hallway. Other times, it wouldn’t hit us until headed to the bar for a drink. Instead of getting an ice-cold drink, we’d have to spend 20 minutes trekking down to the 5th deck to dig through our cabin to find the lost ID.

The cruise is only a week long. Don’t spend it looking for your key card.

Your cruise ship card is your ID , credit card , admission ticket , and passport wrapped in one. You do not want it falling in the wrong hands on your ship and definitely don’t want to lose it once off the ship.

You likely wouldn’t leave your passport in your jean-pockets while taking a dip in the ocean. Nor should you with your key card! Cruise lanyards are the hipper “fanny pack.” You’ll never be without your most valuable possession with it draped around your neck.

To store other valuables like cash and credit cards, get a cruise lanyard with a waterproof pouch (see below). This gives the added protection when taking a dip.

Cruise Key Card Usage

Wonderful Icebreaker

We always hope to make friends when we cruise. Last year we cruised from Australia and were excited to see a fellow passenger with a “Florida” lanyard around his neck. Also from the Sunshine State, we struck up a conversation and hung out all week long. We still keep in touch!

We’ve since seen other attention-grabbing cruise lanyards like these displaying home country or state and this elaborate style for someone that’s probably very interesting to talk to.

Great Souvenir

These make great keepsakes once the vacation is over . We buy a new set of cruise lanyards before every sailing so that we have a unique way to remember each. We’ve seen people print out their itinerary and place it in the plastic pouch, which is a great idea and we’ve been meaning to steal this idea.

Every set of keys we have has a lanyard attached to it. It always brings back great memories and makes us smile when starting the car and thinking about that amazing vacation.

What to look for in a Cruise Lanyard

Surprisingly, there’s a lot to consider when picking your perfect key card holder.

Which lanyard is right for you? That’s like asking, “which cruise should I do?” It’s going to vary by your personality and preferences. Before selecting your perfect one, here’s some added info you’ll want to consider.

Cruise ID Holder Waterproof Pouch

Waterproof Pouch

To keep your cruise key card attached to your lanyard, you have a few options. The most popular is with a pouch. This provides a few advantages. First, it’s very easy to slide your card in and out of the top of the pouch. Second, it lets you add additional “essentials” like credit cards and cash. And finally, it keeps these items nice and dry which helps when carrying paper like money or an excursion pass. We advise that you purchase an item that includes a pouch. You don’t necessarily have to use it, but it’s good to have that option. You can always remove the waterproof pouch and attach the card directly!

Retractable Reel

Oh you fancy. The retractable reel lanyard is like the Cunard of lanyards. Seriously, though, this feature is very popular and found on most of them we’ve seen. The nifty reel lets you easily pull your ID out and it automatically retracts when you let go.

Lanyard Retractable Reel

Cruise ID Attachment

You don’t need a plastic pouch. If going without, we like to call this the “naked” strategy. If going naked, you’ll want to consider what attachment you’ll want to use with your card. We advise using a “ lobster claw ” type attachment that lets you easily unhook your ID when needed. NOTE: some cruise lines (like Carnival) automatically punch a hole in the corner of your card. Others many not. If not done automatically, cruise staff will be happy to punch a hole in your card if taken to the customer service desk.

Detachable Buckle

The detachable buckle is different than the lobster clasp referred to earlier. This feature is typically up a few inches from the key card. The buckle offers “quick release” functionality that’s even easier than with the clasp. We love the buckle option. Bartenders don’t seem to mind when we hand them our card with buckle attached so that’s how we operate.

Detachable Clasp Cruise Lanyards

Style & Comfort

This is the fun part. Make sure to find a style that’s perfect for you both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. You might favor something simple or a fancier option. Maybe you want something super soft or as basic as possible. Perhaps you want your lanyard design to draw attention or maybe you want less eyeballs. There are plenty of options to choose from. Have fun with it!

All of these cruise lanyard features noted above are optional. It’s going to depend on your preferences which is right for you. Some want the very basic and cheapest lanyard to get the job done. Others want the “Cadillac” model that has all the bells and whistles.

Below, you’ll find the best cruise lanyards on Amazon to fit any of your needs.

Where to Buy Cruise Lanyards

Amazon (obvi) but be very wary to avoid the cheap junk!

We recommend buying a lanyard before cruise day. It’s possible to find one in the gift shop on your ship, but you’ll have just one or two overpriced options. Instead, buy it online and check this off your “vacation to do” list early.

CAUTION: Cheap Products & Bad Sellers

There’s a lot of junkie products on Amazon. We’ve tested a few items and sellers and have gotten ripped off so that you don’t have to. Avoid making the same mistake by selecting from a reputable provider!

When buying cruise lanyards online, you’ll have hundreds of options. We prefer Amazon due to the amazing selection and delivery speed . You’ll want to be careful, though . We’ve been disappointed by cheap and junkie items in the past and won’t make that mistake again.

Go with a reputable provider who will guarantee quality . You’ll find that to be true with all of these options below.

“We’ve cruised many many times and we’ve done the cruise ship “paper” luggage tags on all our previous cruises. We thought there had to be a better way to avoid tags being torn, ripped, or lost. We found on Amazon an offer of 4 tags and 2 Id holders specially made for Carnival tags. We placed our order this past Sunday afternoon and received our tags this afternoon (Monday). As soon as we opened the package and held onto our tags we immediately knew theses tag holders are “primo.” These will no doubt prevent what we thought was inevitable on any future cruise we might take. The holders are resealable and are made of durable clear plastic. We are so excited we’re planning a cruise we’ll take in about 2 months.” Luis Torres

How to Carry Your Cruise Card (cruise lanyards & alternatives)

how to carry a cruise card cruise lanyards

Sharing is caring!

If you’re going on a cruise, there is one very practical cruise item that you won’t want to cruise without. A cruise lanyard!

I resisted for a while, but now make sure that I always travel with cruise lanyards to carry my cruise card.

Since you’ll need to carry your cruise card everywhere you go, a cruise lanyard (or an alternative) will ensure that you never misplace or fumble for your cruise key card.

Why Do Cruisers Use a Lanyard?

cruise-lanyard

If you’re a first time cruiser , you might wonder why cruise passengers would need a lanyard. Lanyards are used to hold a cruise card, which serves as a room key card and more.

Since you’ll need your cruise key card to pay for drinks, make reservations and get off and on the cruise ship in port, it’s essential that you always have you cruise card on you.

It’s not uncommon for cruise passengers to lose or misplace their key cards, often at the worst times. For example, if you’re trying to get into a show and need your card scanned, you must have it. If you’ve misplaced it, you’ll need to go to guest services to have a new one made.

If you want to save yourself time and anguish, it’s a good idea to use a cruise lanyard or a lanyard alternative to carry your cruise card.

Do I Need a Lanyard to Cruise?

Cruise Lanyards are a convenience, but they are not mandatory for cruise passengers. Keep in mind that you’ll be using your cruise card several times a day.

You’ll need to present your cruise card ID every time at the bar, at specialty restaurants, at the coffee shop, at the onboard gift shops, at the casino, to play bingo and to get on and off the cruise ship.

Having a lanyard is a safe and convenient way to make sure that you don’t misplace your cruise ship card. Trust me, it happens to the best of us…

What to Look for in a Cruise Lanyard?

When purchasing a cruise lanyard, you’ll want to make sure that it has a plastic sleeve with a sealed waterproof pouch to hold your cruise card. This is because you may want to keep a few dollars in it while out in a port for an excursion. You can also add your license or government ID and remain hands free.

You cruise lanyard pouch should be able to fit a standard cruise card (they are all the same size). The size of a cruise key card is very similar to a credit card and measures 3 3/8 in length by 2 1/4 in width.

You’ll want a sturdy attachment and you may want to have a detachable clip for versatility.

I like using my lanyard, but tuck it under my shirt while in port so that every vendor doesn’t know I am a cruiser and up the price for me immediately.

Great idea!

Do you know…..does the lanyard have to be see-through on both sides? I am seeing some cute lanyards that have a fabric covering on one side with a clear window on the other. Will they be able to scan this way, or will I need to constantly take it out of the lanyard to utilize it? Thanks!

It doesn’t need to be clear. You may still need to take it out of the holder to scan 🙂

The one surprising travel accessory you can't go on a cruise without

Ashley Kosciolek

When I was in junior high, a solid three years before I could legally drive, I asked my parents for a lanyard. They were all the rage among teenagers — particularly high schoolers who used them to corral their car keys. Long gone are the days when my bright orange Adidas neck strap was stylish. That is, of course, unless I'm on a cruise, where passengers often use lanyards to secure their keycards. Keycards serve as both room keys and the only payment card accepted on cashless cruise ships, so wallets aren't necessary.

I've never actually brought my lanyard with me on a sailing, opting instead to carry my card in a pocket or my trusty, tiny Kate Spade crossbody (see below). But cruise lanyards are so popular among at-sea travelers — particularly children who might otherwise lose them and casino regulars, who need quick access for those slot machines — that I'd fit right in if I were to decide to go "vintage" (read: touristy).

Although these accessories don't seem like they'd require too much thought, you might be surprised at the variety available. From simple nylon numbers and flashy ones bedazzled with rhinestones for formal night to options that include protective plastic sleeves, here are some of the best cruise lanyards, along with a few non-lanyard alternatives.

Note: For some of these, you'll need to punch a hole in your keycard. Lines that don't automatically provide punched cards can usually accommodate the request at the front desk, but you might want to pack your own hole puncher, just in case. However, cruisers should be mindful that some keycards contain RFID technology that can be damaged by hole-punching.

Faux leather lanyards

family cruise lanyard

For some classy flair, try a leather lanyard , which can be either dressed down for everyday use or dressed up to go with any dinner outfit during your cruise. This option is made of faux leather, which means it's vegan-friendly, and it comes in a variety of colors to boot. Amazon sells this lanyard in a two-pack, complete with a see-through cardholder so you won't have to punch a hole in your keycard, unless you'd rather use only the trigger clip.

Retractable lanyard necklaces

family cruise lanyard

Necklace lanyards are a dressier way to wear your keycard around your neck. I like this two-pack, which comes with one silver and one rose gold lanyard, plus a removable, retractable clip that allows for extra length so you don't have to bend down to open your cabin door. You can also choose to attach your card with a keychain-style split ring, a lobster clasp or a clear, removable card pocket.

Crossbody phone holder

family cruise lanyard

Personally, I'm always trying to juggle my phone and my keycard when I cruise; I usually put them in a small crossbody bag that holds both without being too cumbersome. I have a Kate Spade one , and I absolutely love it.

If that's too big or you're not someone who carries their phone around while they're sailing, I recommend a card holder . (I have a similar one, also by Kate Spade. The brand's now-defunct counterpart, Jack Spade, has a few still for sale out there, too. So do brands like Michael Kors, Herschel and Timberland.) The nice thing about a card holder is that it fits easily into a pocket, and both of these products are appropriate for everyday use, even when you aren't at sea.

Glitter lanyards

family cruise lanyard

For passengers with the brightest of personalities, these sparkly rhinestone lanyards offer just the right amount of eye-catching glitz and glamour. Plus, they're versatile. You can choose to attach your punched keycard via a keychain-style ring, a standard trigger clip or a trigger clip that's attached to a retractable reel for easier access. This three-pack comes with one black, one silver and one pink lanyard.

Beaded lanyards

family cruise lanyard

In my opinion, these silicone-beaded types are some of the most stylish lanyards available if you insist on wearing one. They look like necklaces but without the metallic or rhinestone touches. There are two ways to attach a punched card — with a metal trigger clip or a keychain-style split ring, both of which can be detached. They're sold in packs of two or three, each with a different design. They clasp in the back and can be adjusted to the desired length.

Stretchable wrist coils

family cruise lanyard

If you just can't see yourself buying a lanyard for cruise use, these wrist coils are trendy, stylish and comfortable, as well as durable. They ensure your cruise keycard won't get lost but aren't as obtrusive as a neck lanyard. This pack offers six different colors so you and your travel companions can quickly tell whose is whose if you take them off. Bonus: Use them pre- or post-cruise for your keys, or remove the detachable split rings to use the coils as hair ties.

Basic nautical lanyards

family cruise lanyard

For those who want a lanyard truly befitting a cruise experience, a nautical print is the way to go. This style is basic, featuring a metal trigger clip and a clear card protector, allowing you to choose whether you'd like to punch a hole in your card or put it in a protective sleeve. The order contains two lanyards in reverse blue-and-white color patterns so you and your travel companion can differentiate whose card is whose at a glance.

Detachable, retractable nautical lanyards

family cruise lanyard

Similar to the basic nautical style above, this style offers a plastic clip that converts the lanyard to a smaller wristlet size that won't tangle in a purse or pocket. There's also a retractable cord that provides extra length so you can stretch your card to your cabin door card reader or the nearest onboard register without taking the lanyard off. This two-pack includes two identical lanyards , but unlike the ones above, they don't offer a clip or clasp option, making the plastic card sleeve a necessity.

Ridge minimalist slim wallet

family cruise lanyard

For anyone looking for a cardholder without a strap, this industrial-style slim wallet by Ridge is made from military-grade RFID-blocking materials, fits easily into a pocket and features a lifetime guarantee. With its card slot and money clip, this wallet will not only secure your cruise keycard and small bills for tipping, but also it's great for everyday use when you're at home.

Basic solid lanyards

family cruise lanyard

Whether you're traveling with a large group or need several lanyard colors to match all the outfits in your cruise wardrobe, this pack of eight basic solid-colored lanyards comes with swivel J hooks to keep your card secure and easily accessible. They're more traditional in that they aren't detachable or retractable, but they do come with plastic card sleeves.

Basic solid wrist strap lanyards

family cruise lanyard

Want a less noticeable but equally effective way to tote your keycard? These basic solid-colored wrist straps , designed to carry USB drives, double as ideal lanyards for feather-light cruise cards. They have no extra bells or whistles, but they do come in a large pack with a variety of colors. To use them, you'll need to punch holes in your cards to take advantage of the small nylon thread loops.

Retractable belt clip badge holder

family cruise lanyard

If you're in the market for a quick-draw utilitarian-style way to carry your card, consider a retractable one that clips handily to a belt , belt loop or purse with a carabiner clip. Attach your cruise keycard to it with a split ring by punching a hole in it, or use the provided tab to connect a clear plastic card holder (not included). This product also comes with a one-year warranty.

Woven wrist strap lanyards

family cruise lanyard

Some of the most rugged and durable lanyards for cruises are these thick woven-style ones, which seem like they'd hold up for many voyages. They're shorter than a standard lanyard, come in lots of colors and patterns, and include a real leather fastener that connects to a round lobster clasp that's perfect for keycards with holes. This wristlet-style card wrangler is great for keeping your card close without wearing it around your neck.

Since this card acts as a cabin key and credit card all in one, having a lanyard allows you to walk around the ship purse or bag free. One less thing to forget!

Speaking of forgetting, we hung our lanyards on the wall hooks in our cabin so we didn’t forget them.

Does Disney give you a lanyard on a cruise?

If you have cruised with Disney before, yes, they provide lanyards. In fact, they give out different colored lanyards depending on your Castaway Club level.

If you have already taken a Disney Cruise, you are a Castaway Club member. This membership provides special benefits onboard your next cruise, such as providing you with a Disney Cruise Line lanyard.

Lanyard colors

  • Silver members (at least 1 cruise) – Silver lanyard
  • Gold members (at least 5 cruises) – Gold lanyard
  • Platinum members (at least 10 cruises) – Platinum lanyard

Do I get a free lanyard on my first Disney Cruise?

Unfortunately, no. Only those who have sailed on a Disney Cruise receive free lanyards. However, there are many cute lanyards to purchase.

It’s less expensive to purchase one ahead of your cruise, although the cruise ship shops do carry them.

Amazon has a wide variety of lanyards , even ones themed for a Disney cruise.

My favorite is this blue and red lanyard with an anchor and helm, even though it’s not Disney related.

I also saw quite a few people (ok, just women) wear this cute Mickey-shaped neck pouch . Plus, there is an extra slot for another card or money and a zipper pouch for coins. It comes in several colors such as black, red, pink or light blue. This could serve double duty if you are headed to the parks in addition to a cruise.

Do kids need a lanyard on a Disney Cruise?

This may be a matter of preference, but we did not give our 8-year-old a lanyard. She was not going to be anywhere without us, so she didn’t need one.

Some parents definitely let their kids wander around by themselves. If that’s you, then yes, your child should have a lanyard so they can go back to the room.

Little K couldn’t believe parents at the dining table next to us let their 3-year-old go to the restroom by himself at dinner. I guess I’m just overprotective.

Hopefully, that answered all your Disney lanyard questions. But, if it didn’t, please ask any in the comments below.

I’m surprised Disney doesn’t give a lanyard for the first cruise anymore. My wife and I took our first cruise in 2007 aboard the Wonder. We received two black and red lanyards similar to what the Platinum lanyards look like, but no platinum color.

I wish they did, I mean really, it’s probably like 25 cents in bulk?

Do the Key to the World cards have a slot/hole where they can be attached directly to the lanyard, or do I need a lanyard style that has an ID holder pouch? Thanks!

Hi Amy – My last Key to the World card from Nov 2018 did NOT have a punched slot, so you needed a lanyard with an ID holder. Have fun on your cruise!

Kids and Cruise Card Lanyards?

By kjaw , January 12, 2022 in Family Cruises

Cool Cruiser

My kids are ages 4, 9, and 9.  Do I need to get them lanyards for their cruise cards?  I like the idea, but I just don't see them using the cards that much.  They'll be with a parent most of the time so won't we just use one of the parent cards?   I know they'll need the cards when getting on/off the ship, but due to us booking the cruise last minute and my youngest being unvaccinated, this will maybe only happen once or twice for us.  Do they need their specific cards to get in and out of Adventure Ocean, maybe?  Sailing with Royal Caribbean if that helps.  THANKS.

No one needs a lanyard.

I don't use one. I just keep my card in my pocket.

A lot of folks like having the lanyard.  Go for it but I remember my kids at that age and would be hesitant to let them be in charge of the cruise cards for long.  Not out of a worry about charges.  I would worry about them being misplaced.  Shoot, Mrs Ldubs hardly trusts me no to lose the cruise card!  😀

Go to "threadwallets.com"  A site with lanyards, slim card holders, etc.  I've got several items from them.  Excellent quality.

DS started cruising at 3 and he is going to be 11 in a couple of months. One of us (DH or I) always keeps HIS card in one of our pockets.

The one time we didn't, he lost it.

I also found other kids' cards throughout the ship and took them to the GS.

What to pack for a cruise

Our writer has sailed on more than 50 cruises. Here are her tips on how to pack for a cruise—and the items she always takes along, for every stage of the journey.

These days, there seems to be a cruise for every type of traveler, from luxury liners with all the comforts of a hotel to expedition-style sailings equipped for adventure. No matter what type of cruise you’re planning, it makes sense to make a packing list so you can make the most of your time onboard.

After sailing on more than 50 cruises, I’ve learned a thing or two about what to pack for a cruise. Besides the necessary cruise clothes, my packing list includes key items, such as towel clips and a hand scale. Of course, there’s lots more to consider. Read on for the 20 products I always pack for a cruise.

What to pack for a cruise — a checklist

Before getting into what to pack, it’s important to know that this list is organized into categories. That makes it easier to consider other essentials before you drag out your suitcase.

For traveling to the cruise

Getting to the terminal is the most difficult part of going on a cruise. Being prepared with a few essentials will make the check-in process and the first few hours on the ship more pleasant.

Passport with cover

family cruise lanyard

Buy it now on   Amazon

No matter where you’re sailing, you must bring identification. Many cruisers bring their passports. A colorful or unique passport cover will help you quickly find it in your bag.

Bluetooth luggage trackers

family cruise lanyard

Packing trackers, such as Apple AirTags, in luggage and any other bags can help make embarkation day feel a little less stressful, especially if anything gets lost.

Digital luggage scale

family cruise lanyard

Everyone picks up a souvenir or two on vacation. Packing a digital luggage scale can help keep your luggage under weight regulations for flights. The Etekcity scale is easy to read, and in my experience, accurate to within a few ounces of the scales at the airport.

Travel pill organizer

family cruise lanyard

This simple pill organizer keeps all your medications, vitamins, and supplements in one light, packable container. I love that there are eight compartments and that each open and snap closed.

For the cruise ship

Whether you’re sailing for three nights or three weeks, these four items will help you enjoy your time onboard.

Corkcicle reusable water bottle

family cruise lanyard

Whether you’ve paid for a drink package or plan to sip on included beverages, a reusable water bottle is always handy. The Corkcicle bottle is insulated, has a fun floral design from Rifle Paper Co., and can keep drinks cold for up to 25 hours, according to the company. I love that the lid is designed with a built-in straw, which is a little more environmentally friendly.

Wet-dry bag

family cruise lanyard

A wet-dry bag is one of the most important things to bring on a cruise, especially if you’re looking forward to a dip on the last day aboard. Toss wet bathing suits into one of these bags and pack it in your suitcase without worrying about getting the rest of your clothes wet. These wet-dry bags are large enough for at least two adult-sized swimsuits.

Towel clips

family cruise lanyard

The upper decks can get quite breezy. To prevent towels from flying off chairs, consider bringing some towel clips. They’re lightweight and easy to pack, but strong enough to hold standard pool towels in place. Towel clips are handy for private island destinations too. They can help you find your beach chairs among the mass of lookalikes.

Sun Bum sunscreen

family cruise lanyard

Sunscreen is a must no matter where you travel. I love Sun Bum because it goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on my skin. It’s vegan and gluten free, but most importantly, it’s safe for reefs.

For your cruise cabin

These four items will help keep your cabin tidy and organized.

Magnetic hooks

family cruise lanyard

Because most of the walls in cabins are magnetic, many cruise lines allow travelers to use magnetic hooks. These hooks can support 27, 40 or 130 pounds. But the 27-pound option should be enough for a cruise. Use them to hang hats and lanyards, or decorations if you’re celebrating a special occasion.

Collapsible laundry hamper

Cabins tend to be small, so it can be difficult to figure out where to put dirty clothes. A collapsible laundry hamper is a great way to keep clothes in one spot. Once the hamper is full, I refold the clothes and put them in my suitcase. The hamper folds flat, so it’s easy to pack too.

Magnetic door decorations

family cruise lanyard

Cruise ship hallways can seem endless. An easy way to find your cabin is to put magnetic decorations on your door. They’re also a snap to remove and pack when it’s time to disembark.

Over the door hanging shoe organizer

family cruise lanyard

Shoe organizers are great for holding almost anything in tight quarters, from toiletries to hairbrushes, first-aid kits, and medicine boxes. You can purchase separate magnetic hoods to hold them up.

For travel and excursions

These items can be a big help during excursions or on travel days before or after your cruise.

RFID wallet

family cruise lanyard

Radio frequency identification, commonly known as RFID, is a high-tech way to steal credit card information. To protect yourself on excursions, carry cards in an RFID-blocking wallet. This one is slim, easily fits into a fanny pack or purse, and has room for a handful of cards.

Swimsuit coverup

On many cruises, you can go from ship to beach to shopping in one day. A swimsuit coverup is a great versatile piece to pack. It’s lightweight yet provides enough coverage for the beach, and you can wear it as a casual dress for lunch in port.

Crocs Classic Clogs

family cruise lanyard

Buy it now on   Amazon

These shoes for kids and adults are great if you’re headed to the beach or a day resort. They’re comfortable and non-slip—ideal for wet pool decks. They come in an abundance of colors and can be customized with   charms .

LugLife Puddle Jumper SE Backpack

family cruise lanyard

A backpack is a travel and cruise essential. I like this one from LugLife because it’s loaded with pockets inside and outside. It has plenty of room for everything you need for a day of exploring, plus it’s water-repellant and has a convenient handle on top.

What not to pack on a cruise

As you prepare your packing list, keep in mind that many cruise lines ban certain things. Some are obvious—firearms, fireworks, drones, hard liquor—for passenger and crew safety. Others are less so. Your cruise line’s website should have a list of prohibited items. In general, here are a few other items you can’t bring on a cruise:

Scissors:   While some scissors for grooming and medical kits are allowed, any pair with blades four inches or longer are not permitted.

CBD products: Most cruise lines ban anything containing cannabidiol. Don’t risk not being able to board the ship by packing these items in your day bag or larger pieces of luggage.

Anything that produces heat: Cruise lines are very cautious when it comes to items that produce heat. Things like coffee machines, candles, heating pads, and travel steamers are not allowed. The only permissible heat-producing items are hair straighteners or curling irons.

Some sporting equipment: Rollerblades, hockey sticks, and pool noodles are not allowed on cruise ships. Additionally, scuba diving equipment is prohibited. If you’ve booked a scuba excursion, the outfitter will provide the equipment you need.

Cruise packing tips from someone who’s been on more than 50 cruises

From ocean liners sailing the Mediterranean to river boats traversing European waterways, I’ve been on dozens of cruises. Yet, I still find packing for a cruise one of the most difficult things to do before setting sail. Fortunately, I have honed a few top tips for packing for a cruise.

Think about where you’re going and how long the cruise is.

If you live within driving distance of your cruise terminal, you won’t have to worry about weight restrictions. In general, pack at least two outfits for each day—one for an excursion and one for dinner and late-night events on the ship. If possible, you can pack less by doing laundry on the ship on sea days.

Make two packing lists for every sailing.

Because suitcases are delivered to your cabin, I always make two packing lists for every cruise I take. The first includes everything I need to pack in my suitcase. The second—more important—list has everything I need in my embarkation day bag, such as passports, medications, a swimsuit, and sunscreen.

Use colored packing cubes to keep everyone organized.

Packing cubes are helpful for keeping small stuff, such as socks and underwear, organized on a cruise ship. Use different colored packing cubes for everyone in your travel party. That way, you can share drawers in cabins without mixing everyone’s things together and still keep the room tidy.

A cruise ship dancer from the Big Apple has been arrested in Florida for allegedly possessing and distributing child sex abuse material — with victims as young as 2 years old engaged in sexual acts with adults.

Jamaal Wade, 26, of Washington Heights, was arrested by US Marshals in Broward County on Sunday and charged with receipt, possession and distribution of child porn, WPLG reported .

It was not immediately clear if the arrest was made before or after a cruise.

“Wade distributed files containing sexually explicit images of minors from/on a computer in New York, New York via the Telegram messaging application,” states a complaint filed by the Southern District Court of New York obtained by The Post.

The victims were described as “prepubescent minors and minors who had not attained 12 years of age.”

family cruise lanyard

An investigation was launched in October after federal agents seized the phone of a user of the messaging app Telegram. Wade allegedly sent that person child sexual abuse material depicting victims as young as 2.

The recipient told authorities he had gone to Wade’s Manhattan apartment to view the illicit material with him. He “also provided the username of an Instagram account used by Jamaal,” the filing says.

In January, the person sent the covert FBI employee eight videos “depicting male children between the ages of approximately four and eight years old engaged in sexual activities, including oral and anal penetration, with adult males,” it adds.

Jamaal Wade

Wade also told the man he had been arrested in Detroit for conduct “while on tour.”

Detroit police records confirmed that he was arrested on Feb. 18, 2020, after being accused of molesting an 11-year-old boy. It was unclear whether he was convicted.

The suspect has allegedly admitted in online chats to molesting a boy while “on tour with a performance group.”

Jamaal Wade

During the probe, a federal agent began chatting with Wade, who sent them several videos of young boys being raped and sexually abused, according to the court filing.

He also mentioned working on cruise ships as a dancer, though the document does not mention which company.

But in a 2020 profile posted by a staffing site , Jamaal Wade is described as having worked for both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines, as well as on stage.

Jamaal Wade

In a March 22 chat, Wade reportedly told the FBI agent that he had “brought his ‘collection’” of child sexual abuse material “on board the ship.”

He was charged with one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

He could face up to 20 years behind bars on each count if convicted.

As of Tuesday, Wade remained in the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach awaiting extradition to Manhattan, WPLG reported.

The Post has reached out to Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines for comment.

Dad Takes Aim at Cruise Staff After 20-Year-Old Son’s Fatal Jump

Francel Parker told his hometown newspaper that his family doesn’t drink, so he’s unsure how his son got so drunk just before he leaped to his death in the Caribbean.

The dad of Levion Parker , the 20-year-old Florida outdoorsman who drunkenly leaped to his death in front of his family on a Royal Caribbean cruise last week, is now questioning how his son was able to get so drunk despite being underage.

In an interview with his hometown newspaper, The Daily Sun , Francel Parker insisted that his son wasn’t suicidal and that they weren’t arguing before his fatal plunge—a statement that contradicts what others onboard told the New York Post they witnessed.

Instead, Francel told the paper his son’s spontaneous jump was done out of drunken ignorance—something he suggested should have been avoidable.

“We don’t drink,” he told the Sun . “I’d like to know how my son was served so much alcohol.”

Despite being over international waters at the time of the fatal plunge, roughly midway between Grand Inagua Island and Cuba, cruises that depart and return from U.S. ports are barred from serving alcohol to anyone under 21. Royal Caribbean has released a statement on the incident, but has not addressed witness statements that claimed Levion was drunk.

Parker added that he’s holding out hope his son, an outdoorsman who won a saltwater fishing tournament just last month, is still alive somewhere in the Caribbean—despite Thursday making it a full week since he disappeared into ocean, and two days since the U.S. Coast Guard called off its search.

“As soon as he went off the side, I prayed over him,” he said, adding that his son was a skilled diver. “I was confident the prayers I said over my son were heard. I stand on the word of God. I believe he is alive.”

The tragedy unfolded around 4 a.m. on April 4, on the 11th deck of the massive Liberty of the Seas cruise liner. Witnesses told the Post last week that Levion was hanging out in a hot tub with his brother when he was approached by his dad, who appeared angry that he’d been drinking.

After what he perceived as being an argument, the witness Bryan Sims told the Post he heard Levion tell his dad, “I’ll fix this right now.” Moments later, he jumped into the dark ocean below—an incident Sims described as being an “impulsive leap.”

Sims added that the ship was moving “pretty fast” and that Francel screamed for staff to alert the captain, which brought the ship to a complete stop within 20 minutes. The vessel launched rescue boats, but to no avail—Levion was nowhere to be found.

Francel told the Sun he flung six life rings off the ship hoping one would reach his son, who he said accompanied him on board along with his younger brother to take a break from his work on a commercial fishing boat.

Social media posts showed Levion graduated from North Port High School, in southwest Florida between Sarasota and Fort Myers, in 2022. He played football there, and regularly posted about fishing and hunting.

In in its lone statement on the incident, Royal Caribbean said last week it was “providing support and assistance” to Levion’s family.

“The ship’s crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort alongside the U.S. Coast Guard,” it said, adding, “For the privacy of the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share.”

Royal Caribbean's family-friendly private island is about to get more crowded with Gen Xers

  • Celebrity Cruises will sail to Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay for the first time.
  • The cruise lines target different demographics, but the business case is solid.
  • The private island is scheduled on 47 of Celebrity's itineraries this year.

Insider Today

Royal Caribbean's family-friendly private island is about to get a bit more crowded — with Gen Xers.

On April 21, Gen X-beloved Celebrity Cruises will voyage to Royal Caribbean International's Perfect Day at CocoCay for the first time, marking the start of a Celebrity-CocoCay bonanza: The premium cruise line plans to visit the family-friendly getaway 47 more times before the end of the year.

According to Celebrity, these itineraries will both double its year-round Caribbean offerings and launch its first weekend cruises . And travelers are hyped: A handful of these sailings are halfway or close to selling out.

Fares start at about $277 per person for a three-day roundtrip cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in which the Caribbean island is the only destination on the itinerary.

Travelers familiar with Celebrity and CocoCay might be scratching their heads

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity share the same parent company, Royal Caribbean Group .

For the most part, that's where their similarities end.

Royal Caribbean's private island is a tropical dream for cruising families dotted with sprawling beaches, clubs, a zipline, and a waterpark. The private destination is colorful, loud, kid-friendly, and generally the antithesis of what travelers might find on Celebrity's ships.

Celebrity's stylish vessels do offer children and teen programming. But if you want the exciting water slides, fun rides, and rock climbing walls of the popular mass-market ships, you're better off looking elsewhere.

Compared to Royal Caribbean's ships, Celebrity is best if you want to be on a premium, trendy, and more subdued cruise.

Related stories

If it's not obvious, the two brands are vying for different guests. Royal Caribbean goes after multi-generational families, while Celebrity's target demographic is Gen Xers, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the then-CEO of Celebrity Cruises, told Business Insider in 2021.

Celebrity sails to 300 ports on all seven continents — why this sudden push for the private Caribbean island?

In short, cruisers love Celebrity's upcoming Caribbean destination .

Last year, Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, told analysts that CocoCay had seen robust demand, including from repeat travelers.

About two-thirds of Royal Caribbean's Caribbean-bound guests will stop at CocoCay this year. And most of them aren't complaining: "The vast majority of people love the islands," Patrick Scholes, a lodging and leisure research analyst at Truist Securities, told Business Insider in March.

But for the two brands' parent company, there are more benefits to private island cruising besides guest satisfaction.

CocoCay is one night's sailing from Florida's major cruise ports, reducing the visiting ships' fuel consumption and costs.

More importantly, these private destinations keep more profits in-house.

A day pass to CocoCay's waterpark can exceed $100 per person. Entry to the recently opened Hideaway Beach costs up to $89 per person. Nearby, an afternoon at the more luxurious Coco Beach Club could be shy of triple that cost.

Even the complimentary parts of the island have splurge-enticing amenities like rentable cabanas and snorkeling gear. And because there's no need to rely on other excursion operators, Celebrity's parent company gets to pocket more profits.

Most of Celebrity's 2024 cruises to CocoCay will be on two of its largest ships: the 3,849-guest Celebrity Beyond and 3,480-guest Celebrity Reflection. That's plenty of guests ready to spend big on the popular private island.

But that doesn't mean Celebrity cruisers will be fighting kids for beach chairs

It is possible to escape the hoards of families at Perfect Day at CocoCay. For example, the new Hideaway Beach is rowdy, boozy, and thankfully adult-only.

While not kid-free, on the other side of the island, the Oasis Lagoon pool has become the de facto hot spot for afternoon ragers "packed with intoxicated people having a really good time" on one end, and children on the other end, Bayley told reporters in late January.

If nothing else, at least there won't be any kids drinking at the island's more than 10 bars.

Fun Things for Kids in Moscow

Fun for kids in Moscow

What are the best things to do with children in Moscow?

  • Summer: Futuristic parks, river boats and ice caves are perfect attractions for when the temperatures rise above 30.
  • Museums: Russians are very proud of their history, which means that their museums are kept to a world-class standard. Both parents and children alike will be sure to learn something new at one of the many, often unique museums in Moscow.
  • Culture: From the world’s oldest puppet theatre to UNESCO-listed whimsical, wooden palaces there’ll be plenty to treat your little prince or princess to.
  • Winter: New Year is arguably the most magical time to visit Moscow, especially for children. The ice rinks throughout the city, Christmas markets and the magnificent ice-sculpture festival truly make Moscow a winter wonderland.

Moscow truly is a mega-metropolis like no other. Its non-stop energy and sheer unorthodoxy is sure to enthuse any child with its rebellious, east-meets-west spirit. Just walking down Old Arabat Street— where ancient wooden storehouses are squashed against grey, soviet blocks which are then towered over by blingy high-rises— is sure to appeal to the childish disdain of all things orderly and conventional. Apart from the main sites, there’s a whole host of family-friendly activities in Moscow from the very traditional to the uber, high-tech that will keep your kids entertained.

For Summer Scorchers:

Fun for kids - Summer VDNKh

Photo by  Jamie Taylor  on  Unsplash

VDNKh  is Russia’s version of Disneyland and, to be honest, we think it trumps that tacky theme park by a mile. First things first is its size. At almost 600 acres, this Soviet park has everything; from space museums to soviet shopping outlets to equestrian centers to beaches. In fact, there’s so much to do that there really is no way to cover it all in one day. Our favorite attractions include the ROBO station, the super-cool playgrounds near the aquarium and the world’s biggest ice rink in winter. Better rent out scooters or bikes as well if you plan on seeing at least a fraction of this green gem.

Address: Prospekt Mira, 119 Nearest metro station: VDNKh

Unlike VDNKh, you won’t have to travel far from the centre to seek the lovely lush lawns of  Gorky Park . Come early so that you can grab a beanbag or hammock for yourself while your children have some fun on the colorful playground rides or play ping-pong under the trees. At teatime, head over to the traditional Russian tea house for a brew from a giant samovar. It’s worth staying on for the whole day until dusk when the roof of the park’s planetarium slides open to reveal the wonders of the sky.

Address: Krymsky Val, 9 Nearest metro station:   Park Kultury

Zaradye Park

Moscow’s brand-new  Zaradye Park  couldn’t be more different from the stern, red brick of the Kremlin that towers over it. Whichever way you look, you’ll be rubbing your eyes to make sure that this other-worldly landscape of floating glass bridges, underground ancient walkways, Siberian tundra and ice caves really does exist. For children, this wild-urban project is the perfect place for them to let some steam off during a day of sightseeing. Thanks to the unbelievable glass-paneled roof that keeps warm air in and the rain out, the lawns are perfect for lounging on all year round.

Address: Varvarka street, 6 Nearest metro station:  Kitay-gorod

There’s a never-ending stream of tour boats bobbing up and down the Moskva River to hop on to when those little legs have had enough of walking. But for those who’d like something a little special, nothing beats the Radisson yacht. Champagne, on-board dining and floor to ceiling windows make it the most stylish way to cruise round Moscow.

Address: Naberezhnaya Tarasa Shevchenko, Moscow (next to teh Radisson Blue hotel) Nearest metro station:  Studencheskaya

For Little Einsteins:

Fun for kids - little einsteins

Museum of Cosmonauts

This is THE museum to go to if you happen to have a Star Wars fan with you. Unlike in countless planetariums around the world where gimmicky models of the solar system and dramatic movies make for a hollow experience, here you get the real thing. There’s a life-size model of the Russian space station, chunks of the moon, a space toilet, the actual Sputnik, heck, even Belka & Strelka, the space dogs, are there standing next to the very space shuttle they flew into space with  (never fear, they were stuffed only after they died of old age).  *For extreme fanatics, it’s worth noting you can arrange a tour to Star City, the astronaut training centre that is still in use outside of Moscow.

Address: Prospekt Mira, 111 Nearest metro station:   VDNKh, Vystavochny tsentr

Darwin Museum

The first museum in the world devoted to explaining the most important concept of biology definitely deserves a visit. Its menagerie of nearly half a million stuffed animals illustrate the steady process of evolution and the many now extinct animals it boasts like the Dodo serve as a warning bell for what the age of mass-industrialization might bring. Despite its name, the  Darwin museum isn’t at all quaint or old-fashioned with plenty of interactive displays and microscopes for children to engage with.

Address: Ulitsa Vavilova, 57 Nearest metro station:   Akademicheskaya

Orlov Museum of Paleontology

This museum could easily compete with the famed Natural History Museum in London. In fact, its extensive exhibit of ginormous skeletons from all sorts of beasts from sloths to diplodocuses might even be more impressive than London’s. After all, Russia is an awful lot bigger than England and probably has lot more giants slumbering away in the depths of its forests just waiting to be dug up!

Address: Ulitsa Profsoyuznaya, 123 Nearest metro station: Kon'kovo

The Experimentanium

There’s lots of fun to be had at this fully hands-on science museum. It’s absolutely perfect for little toddlers and mischievous boys alike because nothing’s off bounds—the whole place is a playground (with a lot of science snuck in!). And don’t worry, most of the descriptions are in English so they’ll definitely learn something along the way.

Address: Leningradsky prospekt, 80/11 Nearest metro station:   Sokol

For Boisterous Boys & Girls:

Fun for kids - Moscow city

Photo by  Alexandr Popadin  on  Unsplash

Moscow City

The second tallest, the third tallest, the fourth tallest and the sixth and seventh tallest buildings in Europe can all be found within a few meters of each other in the financial district, Moscow city. Apart from breaking their necks trying to gape at all the quirky high-rises, your kids can get a thrill by going up to the 54th floor of Ostankino TV Tower to its awe-inspiring panoramic viewing platform with a drop-down, glass floor!

Address:   Presnenskaya Naberezhnaya Nearest metro station:   Delovoy tsentr, Mezhdunarodnaya, Vystavochnaya

A trip down to this veritable villain’s lair is certainly worth it with children, not least because it’s 18 stories underground…. AND the only way back up is by the stairs making it the perfect recipe for a peaceful afternoon. Apart from tiring out children, Bunker 42 has the distinction of being a genuine nuclear bunker. It was intended to be the hide-away of the USSR’s top dogs in the case of nuclear war and the staff here do such an excellent job of recreating the tense atmosphere that we hazard against taking softer children here. Everything, from the actual computer with the big red button which would have been used to start WW3 to the KGB’s rooms, have been preserved exactly as they were at the height of the cold war.

*Entrance only with group tours which can be arranged in English.

Address: 5th Kotel'nicheskiy Pereulok, 11 Nearest metro station:  Taganskaya

Central Armed Forces Museum

Though there isn’t much English in this museum dedicated to all things sickle and hammer (i.e. the Red Army), the genuine American U2 spy plane it has on show and the opportunity to hold real (but thankfully, not loaded!) guns make it a real treasure trove for army-mad kids.

Address: Ulitsa Sovetskoy Armii, 2 Nearest metro station:  Dostoevskaya

Victory Museum

You don’t actually need to step a foot in this museum dedicated entirely to WW2 to please your wannabe soldiers. Just sit down on a bench as your kids jump on and off the airplanes, tanks, armored vehicles and every other killing machine imaginable that are free to explore outside this museum.

Address: Ploshchad' Pobedy, 3 Nearest metro station:   Park Pobedy

Armory Chamber

Part of the Kremlin complex, the Armory Chamber’s incredibly diverse displays—spanning folk art to silverware to coronation dresses— cover almost every era of Russia’s royal history. The wedding carriages and ceremonial arms are particularly well-loved by children.

Fun for kids - Puppet theater

Moscow State Puppet Theatre

The oldest puppet theatre in Moscow is also the largest in the world. Its wide-ranging repertoire has shows for tiny tots up to adult-only shows. Its fairytale clock, from which mythical creatures spring out, will be the cherry on top of a magical visit to this dear theatre.

Address: Pestovskiy Pereulok, 2/1 Nearest metro station:   Marksistskaya

Central Kids Store on Lubyanka

This seven-story department store devoted entirely to little people boasts the biggest Hamleys in the world, the biggest time keeping mechanism and one of the best viewing platforms in Moscow. In other words, it’s kiddy heaven. The building itself is also rather noteworthy, dating back to 1953. Its stained murals and colorful tiles give it an old-world (soviet) charm.

Address: Teatral'nyy Proyezd, 5 Nearest metro station:   Lubyanka, Kuznetsky Most

Izmailovsky Park

This is possibly the world’s only Slavic theme park. Just joking, but just be warned this recreated Russian village with mini-museums, bakeries and a market is a teensy bit kitsch. If your children are artsy, then why not let them make their own matryoshka at a masterclass instead of buying one at the market. And while the kiddies busy themselves with the business of covering every square inch of their clothes in paint, there’s plenty for parents to peruse; like the vodka museum or the pleasantly, rolling park land.

Address: Alleya Bol'shogo Kruga, 7 Nearest metro station:  Sokolinaya gora

Kolomenskoye Park

Ivan the Terrible’s summer retreat isn’t at all as gloomy as you’d expect, indeed some might say it’s actually a bit too colorful. In our opinion, its postcard-perfect; with petite trains chugging through the acres of apple orchards, a pearl-white 16th century, UNESCO-listed church and a magnificently vibrant, 300 year old wooden palace. Take your children on a trip back in time, they’ll be delighted - we promise.

Address: Andropova Ave, 39 Nearest metro station:  Kolomenskaya

For Petrol Heads:

Fun for kids - rail museum

Moscow Rizhsky Railway Station

If you don’t have time to take your children on the Trans-Siberian, then a ride on a Soviet steam train is a superb alternative. The beauty of chugging through the outskirts of Moscow on a train with a red star on its gleaming, coal-black engine will definitely make Harry Potter fans squeal with excitement. Adults will appreciate the cups of tea served in old-style soviet mugs specifically made for train journeys. If you’d like to explore the rail museum after the trip (we highly recommend it), be prepared for the weather as the whole exhibition is uncovered.

Address:  Rizhskaya Ploshad, 1 Nearest metro station:  Rizhskaya

Moscow Metro Museum

After taking your children on the Moscow metro (which you simply must!), chances are they’ll bombard you with all sorts of questions a parent isn’t equipped to answer; like “How fast do the trains go?” and “Who drives them?”. Never fear, Moscow’s metro actually has a free museum which will answer all these questions, as well as even allowing kids to take a seat in the driver’s seat for a virtual ride down the tunnels.

Address: Presnenskaya Naberezhnaya, 2 Nearest metro station:   Vystavochnaya

For White Winter Days:

Moscow Ice Festival

Each winter in Park Pobedy, blocks of ice are towed in from Russia’s great lakes to be chiseled away into masterpieces. Children will be delighted to find that they can even clamber upon some of these unbelievably big artworks. But the favorite by far, are super slippery ice slides.

*Just beware of wet bums— waterproofs are a must.

Learn more about winter activities is Moscow .

Address: Park Pobedy on Poklonnaya Hill Nearest metro station:   Park Pobedy

Ice-skating

There are almost 1500 ice-skating rinks in Moscow alone. It’s almost as if every open plot of land has water poured over it; even Red Square is transformed into a mega rink! The park VDNKh boasts the biggest in the world, but there’s also an awesome rooftop ice rink at ArtPlay. Wherever you take your children, you can’t go wrong with a bit of skating.

Mom accused of leaving 2 young children home alone for days to go on cruise

The Houston woman was charged with abandoning a child with intent to return.

A Texas mother has been arrested after allegedly leaving her two young children home alone for days to go on a cruise, court records show.

Lakesha Williams, 29, of Houston, has been charged with abandoning a child with intent to return, a felony, according to a criminal complaint.

Neighbors at her high-rise apartment building reportedly saw Williams leave with luggage on April 4 but "never saw her return," according to the complaint.

PHOTO: The McKinley apartment complex is seen in Houston.

A woman at the apartment complex reached out to law enforcement to request a wellness check because the neighbors were worried about the children's safety, according to the complaint.

Deputies conducted a welfare check on Tuesday, five days after Williams allegedly left, and found an 8-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl alone in the apartment, the complaint stated. The apartment was in "complete disarray," with trash and food strewn about and a "very potent smell of urine," the complaint stated.

The children reportedly told police that their mother left them on April 4 "to go on vacation on a cruise and they did not know when she would return," the complaint stated.

It did not appear that any adults had been supervising the children since then, according to the complaint. Williams allegedly used a video camera to watch and talk to the children during that time, and the boy had a phone he was using to text her, according to the complaint.

PHOTO: Lakesha Williams is taken into custody in Houston, April 11, 2024.

"These children were definitely left unattended for many days and put in serious harm's way," Keegan Childers, the chief prosecutor of the 209th District Court, told Houston ABC station KTRK .
