Funko is bringing your favorite characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation to life as Funko Digital Pop! NFT’s.

Funko Digital Pop! are NFTs in the form of digital collectible cards. NFTs stands for non-fungible tokens. A non-fungible token is a unique unit of data that is created and stored on a digital ledger called blockchain.

The first-released Funko Digital Pop! series was dedicated to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), featuring a unique collection of 100 action-packed digital collectible cards.

In addition to the TMNT Digital Pop! collection, Funko has released several exclusive NFTs series, including Scooby-Doo, Transformers, Hanna-Barbera, Stranger Things, DC Comics and Power Rangers.

Each Funko Digital Pop! series consists of an action-packed collection of NFTs, divided into six different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Grail. The Funko Digital Pop! series are offered in Standard and Premium packs, containing 5 and 17 Funko Digital Pop! cards.

Collectors who get their hands on Legendary or Grail rarities or completed a Royalty Collection, by collecting one of each Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic Digital Pop! cards, are eligible to receive a limited edition physical collectible designed exclusively for the series.

Redemption Tokens will be issued to account holders 120 days after each release for any completed Royalty Collection sets or Legendary and Grail Digital Pop! cards. Physical collectibles can be redeemed within 30 days of receiving a Redemption Token.

The new Funko Digital Pop! Star Trek: The Next Generation x Funko Series 1 includes five exclusive physical collectibles, including Captain Picard, Wesley Crusher, Worf and Judge Q.

8 New Star Trek Funko Pops Announced Including Mirror Universe, Khan, And Gorn

Funko has announced another wave of their wildly popular vinyl “Funko Pop” figures, with eight figures all styled around Star Trek: The Original Series .

Funko Pops are uniquely styled 4.25″ tall vinyl figures featuring designs from all sorts of fandoms, including Star Trek . And Funko has just announced their latest set of figures which include eight styled after TOS. And most of these new figures are available to pre-order now.

Mirror Universe Funko Pops

Coming in June 2021, these four figures are based on the classic episode “Mirror, Mirror.” The new wave includes Mirror Universe versions of Kirk, Spock, Uhura and Sulu. Each figure can be pre-ordered now at Entertainment Earth for 10.99 .

Kirk and Khan

Also coming in June 2021, is a brand new Captain Kirk in captain’s chair. And Funko is releasing their first ever figure based on Khan Noonien Singh, from the episode “Space Seed.” Both figure can be pre-ordered now at Entertainment Earth for 10.99 .

Another first for Funko is their new Gorn figure, from the episode “Arena.” The figure will be released in July as a Target exclusive and can be pre-ordered for $8.99 .

Spock with cat

The final new figure announced was of Mr. Spock with cat. This figure will be available later this year as an exclusive at Funko.com .

Am not a Funko Pop collector (have received a couple as gifts) but these do look pretty cool, to be fair. Some of the best I’ve seen…especially the Gorn!

As a collector, I’m disappointed with the choice to give us the mirror crew before the prime crew, but that Gorn makes up for it!

I am not into Funko Pops, but I’m a total sucker for anything Gorn. I think they’ve gotten to me!

Wow, they really did great work with these!! I love Khan crushing a phaser, Kirk looks perfect in the chair [reminds me of a promo portrait the way he’s almost leaning on his hand] and the MU figures are solid. I have 2 of these things and I’m liable to collect way too many way too quickly, so I best not get any of these…oh heck maybe the captain’s chair one…

LOL My sister gets me these for my birthday. They are pretty funny, kids like them. I am pretty sure that’s how they first found out who Kirk and Spock are (followed by the awesome TOS Golden Books that appeared in the bookstore randomly like 2 years ago)

The death of Spock is recreated in the cutest way possible in a new Star Trek Funko Pop! diorama.The new Wrath of Khan set is part of Funko's Pop! Moment line, which recreates iconic scenes and events from pop-culture using the company's iconically stylized figures. The new diorama recreates Spock's death from the end of 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan . After heroically sacrificing himself to save the Enterprise and her crew, Spock shares one last heartfelt conversation with Kirk before the Vulcan succumbs to the deadly radiation flooding the chamber. While the beloved science officer's demise would be undone in the next film in the series, 1984's Star Trek III: The Search for Spock , the scene is nonetheless remembered as one of the most memorable and emotionally moving scenes in the entire franchise. The Pop! Moment figure is one of several new collectibles announced today by Funko as part of the company's Target Con 2022 collaboration. As the name of the event suggests, all of the new figures revealed today, including the Wrath of Khan set, will only be available for sale exclusively at Target stores. Other new figures announced today include a new variant of the Boba Fett Pop! figure that features a new metallic red paint job, as well as a new figure of Yu-Gi-Oh 's Black Luster Soldier.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was directed by Time After Time 's Nicholas Meyer, who would later return to the franchise to direct Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country . Series creator Gene Roddenberry was infamously forced out of the movie's production following the mixed critical reception to the first Star Trek movie. Despite that, Wrath of Khan is generally regarded as one of the best movies in the franchise, and was both a critical and commercial success, earning $97 million USD against a budget of just $12 million USD. The movie features the return of Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically enhanced super soldier from the original series, who seizes the Federation starship Reliant and uses it to exact his revenge on Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise.

Spock's original actor, the legendary Leonard Nimoy, passed away in 2015 at age 83. The character was portrayed by Zachary Quinto ( Heroes ) in J.J. Abrams' 2009 Star Trek  reboot and its subsequent sequels. Ethan Peck portrayed a younger version of the Vulcan officer in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery and is set to reprise the role for the upcoming spinoff series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds .
