Sri Lanka Tours & Holidays
Pristine rainforest. Ancient rock fortresses. Wildlife aplenty. And some of the most perfect beaches on the planet. There are so many reasons to visit Sri Lanka.
One day you could be hiking the Knuckles Mountain Range, high in Sri Lankaâs hill country; the next, travelling by train through tea plantations and into the mountains. And when you start each morning with curry, hoppers and a cup of the local tea , you  know  itâs going to be a good day. Climb Lion Rock, a dramatic carved-rock fortress in Sigiriya, and explore Jaffna in the islandâs north, previously off-limits to travellers. The only struggle youâll have in  Sri Lanka  is knowing where to start.

Culture and customs
As an important stop on ancient trade routes, thereâs a great mix of cultural influences present in modern-day Sri Lanka. The majority of Sri Lankans are Sinhalese Buddhists, followed by Tamils (who are mostly Hindu) and a small amount of Christians and Muslims. Various religious festivals and holy times are celebrated regularly in Sri Lanka, from large nationwide holidays to local village celebrations. As a fairly conservative nation, most locals dress modestly and displays of affection are not considered appropriate in public.
The British influence is still evident in Sri Lankaâs culture, cuisine and buildings. Drinking tea and playing cricket are the most obvious remnants of British colonial rule, although youâll also find country cottages dotted throughout some rural regions with some serving traditional English fare like roast chicken and beef. Travellers will find that most Sri Lankans, despite having little, are quick to share their food and friendship. Known for being hospitable, generous and kind, when being offered tea or food in someoneâs home, it is considered impolite to decline.
Eating and drinking
Intrepid believes that one of the best ways to experience a country is by eating! Whether you're sampling street food, savouring a cheap eat or indulging in a banquet, there are endless options to choose from wherever you are in the world.
Things to try in Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan curries are among the hottest in the world, but donât let that put you off. Fragrant, coconut-based curries packed with chilli, garlic, turmeric and coriander will give your tastebuds a treat.
Being an island, Sri Lanka has access to an amazing array of seafood. Feast on fresh crab, swordfish, lobster and squid - or choose a fiery seafood-based curry.
These egg-filled crepe-like wonders can usually be found at breakfast buffets. Usually made from rice flour and coconut milk batter, they are a Sri Lankan twist on the traditional pancake.
With miles of tea plantations, Sri Lankans have grown accustomed to drinking their popular home-grown cash crop. Tea is served with milk and sugar almost everywhere in Sri Lanka, mainly at breakfast and during the day.
Geography and environment
Situated in the Indian Ocean, the island of Sri Lanka lies just under the Indian subcontinent, to the southwest of the Bay of Bengal. Much of Sri Lanka receives a high level of rainfall during the monsoon season, with the dry northern areas being the exception. Due to the high level of rainfall, tropical evergreen forest proliferates around the country. Despite extensive land clearing for agriculture, there are still pockets of national parks and biosphere reserves around the country that hold much flora and fauna, including herds of wild elephants, deer and a wide range of birds. Sri Lankaâs remaining forests and protected areas are rich in biological diversity and remain popular with tourists looking for wildlife and adventure.Â
Sri Lankaâs main cities are typically built up, busy and increasingly becoming more multicultural and cosmopolitan. In comparison to Sri Lankaâs fast-paced, city-dwelling residents, many Sri Lankans still live in villages with simple housing and work predominantly in the agriculture and fishing industries.
History and government
Early history.
Sri Lanka was occupied by hunter-gatherers for thousands of years before the arrival of Sinhalese tribal groups in the 6th century BC. Buddhism arrived on the island sometime during the 3rd century BC and as a result, the city of Anuradhapura became the capital and centre of Buddhism. This Buddhist Kingdom endured years of Tamil raids until Anuradhapura was abandoned in favour of Polonnaruwa in the south. By the 12th century, Tamil rulers had a permanent presence in the north, where Hinduism still flourishes today.Â
The harbours of the south soon became important trading centres for Arab traders but by the 16th century a new wave of foreign influence began with the arrival of the Portuguese, then the Dutch. Sri Lankaâs wealth of cinnamon and geographic trading advantage appealed to the Portuguese, who slowly took over the island until the Dutch drove them out in the early 17th century. Remnants of this time can still be found in modern-day Sri Lanka, with colonial forts, cannons and other ruins dotted throughout the country, especially along the coast. By 1795, the British arrived and captured the island from the Dutch. Sugar, coffee, tea and rubber plantations were soon established by the British, along with Western schools, churches and colleges.
Recent history
Sri Lanka (Ceylon) was officially granted its independence in 1948 but continued to maintain relatively good relations with the British. By 1960, Ceylon had the worldâs first female prime minister and in 1972, the name Ceylon was replaced with Sri Lanka, which had just become a republic (but remained a member of the Commonwealth). These changes in government and moves towards independence were largely Sinhalese-centric, which created some tension with parts of the Tamil population.Â
From 1983 to 2009 Sri Lanka endured an intermittent civil war, which resulted in some displacement of people and human rights violations. More recently, parts of Sri Lanka were devastated by the 2004 tsunami, yet Sri Lanka has rebounded with an increasingly stable economy based on agriculture, tourism and telecommunications. With one of the best-performing stock exchanges in the world, Sri Lanka has emerged from conflict, natural disasters and colonisation to become a rising tourist and economic hotspot.

2. Dewatagaha Mosque
One of the oldest mosques in Sri Lanka, this prayer place for worshippers of Islam has stood in Colombo for hundreds of years. The striking domes and minarets stand out in the Colombo skyline and provide a spiritual epicentre for Sri Lankaâs Muslims.

7. Sigiriya (Lionâs Rock)

The rock inscriptions, paintings and ancient âgraffitiâ show insight into the lives of the monks who lived within the caves and grottoes before King Kasyapa took to the throne and established a capital there.
8. Anuradhapura
The ancient ruins of Anuradhapura are a significant holy place for Sri Lanka Buddhists. As one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, there are many monasteries surrounding this area of supreme veneration.
9. Munneswaram Temple

10. Mihintale
If you choose to climb the thousand or so steps to the top of Mihintaleâs hill, youâll be rewarded with panoramic views and a deeper understanding of Buddhism, as this is the site where Buddhism is said to have originated in Sri Lanka.

From far-flung rural marketplaces to the boutiques and galleries of Galle and Colombo, shopping in Sri Lanka has something for everyone at a relatively low cost.Â
It's a good idea to check with your local customs officials to ensure that you are able to bring certain items back into your home country. Australia and New Zealand generally have strict quarantine laws.

3. Gem stones
If youâre after a low-cost gemstone, Sri Lanka is a top place to pick up a stone at a great price. Birthstones are popular, as are girls' best friends â diamonds! As always, buy from a licensed gem store to guarantee authenticity.

If you do live with a visual, hearing or other impairment, let your booking agent or group leader know early on so theyâre aware and suitable arrangements can be made. As a general rule, knowing some common words in the local language, carrying a written itinerary with you and taking to the streets in a group, rather than solo, can help make your travel experience the best it can be.
What kind of transport will I use in Sri Lanka?
Intrepid believes half the fun of experiencing a new country is getting there, and getting around once there! Where possible, Intrepid uses local transport options and traditional modes of transport - which usually carry less of an environmental impact, support small local operators and are heaps more fun.
Hire a bike and pedal around ancient cities full of fascinating ruins for a fun and interactive way to learn about Sri Lankaâs deep history.
Experience some of the world's most beautiful train journeys in the hill country of Sri Lanka.
Tuk Tuks are the best and cheapest way to make your way around Sri Lanka's towns and cities.
Jump in a jeep for a wildlife safari in Sri Lanka's national parks.
What to wear in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is warm. Sri Lanka is very warm. Sri Lanka will have you sweating unless youâre up visiting the tea plantations in the hills, so light, breathable clothing is essential. Whatever you do, donât wear any clothing depicting the Buddha â this can get you arrested, as can having a Buddha tattoo.
Does my trip to Sri Lanka support The Intrepid Foundation?
Yes, all Intrepid trips support the Intrepid Foundation. In fact, we make a donation on behalf of every traveller. Trips to Sri Lanka directly support our foundation partner, Zero Plastic.Â
Zero Plastic aims to reduce plastic waste in Sri Lankan communities through education and volunteer programs. Donations from our trips help them raise awareness for the impact of plastic on the environment and local wildlife and reduce plastic pollution at the UNESCO-listed Sigiriya (and surrounding communities).
Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance before travelling?
Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

How do I stay safe and healthy while travelling?
Intrepid takes the health and safety of its travellers seriously and takes every measure to ensure that trips are safe, fun and enjoyable for everyone. We recommend that all travellers check with their government or national travel advisory organisation for the latest information before departure:

Day 1 Home Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka!
On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), you will be met by your private transfer and driven to your accommodation in Colombo.
Due to airline flight schedules, some flights arrive very late in the evening. There is the opportunity to book pre tour accommodation in Colombo should you wish.
Check-in: if arriving prior to standard check-in time, which is generally 3pm local time, you are welcome to leave your luggage with hotel reception and explore your surroundings until check-in becomes available, as there are generally no scheduled activities on Day 1 of the itinerary.
Day 2 Colombo  Galle
In the morning, we'll head south towards Galle, with a brief Colombo sightseeing tour on the way. Colombo offers a blend of modern western and Sri Lankan elements, we'll drive past some of the commercial capital's sites including Old Parliament, Presidentâs House, Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green, Pettah, Viharamaha Devi Park, and Independence Square.
There will be time for you to disembark the coach and be escorted through the famous Pettah Market, not before viewing the uniquely stunning Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque (entry not included).Â
We will also visit the Colombo National Museum. This charming museum takes visitors on a fascinating journey through Sri Lankan history. Housed in a stunning neo-Baroque building, which was specifically constructed by William Henry Gregory, Governor of Ceylon, in 1877, the museum boasts a gleaming white façade. As you make your way through the various rooms, you'll encounter exhibits dedicated to each of Sri Lanka's historical kingdoms. Informational display boards provide intriguing insights, such as the meaning behind the mudras (gestures and poses) depicted in Sri Lanka's Buddha statues.
Then, in Balapitiya, we take a boat trip on the Madu River to visit 64 scattered islands, including Cinnamon Island, where we learn about cinnamon production. Sri Lanka is the world's largest producer of pure cinnamon.
Spend tonight in Galle.
Day 3 GalleÂ
Today set on a tour of the Galle Fort and its Fortifications. This is a city that exudes an essence with a perfect blend of past and present. Declared an UNESCO heritage site in 1988, the presence of Portuguese, Dutch and English is very evident in the fascinating architectural styles of the Galle Fort.
Day 4 Galle Yala National Park
In the morning we leave for Yala National Park. On arrival, spend your afternoon on a guided game drive exploring the dynamic wildlife and the most luxuriant plant life in Yala National Park. Being one of the largest parks in Sri Lanka, it is the ideal place to sight the rare leopard!
Please note that Yala National Park closes for a period between the months of September and October. The exact closure dates are made clear closer to the time. The closure is due to the prevailing dry weather prior to this time and taking into consideration the well-being of the wildlife in the reserve. For departure dates that fall over this period, as defined in the departure dates listed below, Yala National Park will be replaced with a visit to Udawalawe National Park, while still being able to visit Block 4 or 5 of Yala National Park.
Day 5 Yala National Park Nuwara Eliya
This morning, enjoy another safari in the Yala National Park by jeep to spot the diverse wildlife which calls the park home.
Please note: sections of Yala National Park close due to conservation efforts each year between September and October. The closure dates are advised by the Sri Lankan government 1-2 months prior and differ each year. As Yala National Park is made up of multiple sections, if one section is closed due to conservation works we will visit one of the open sections.
After, we leave Yala behind us and continue the journey to Nuwara Eliya. Often referred to as âLittle Englandâ, this genteel highland community does have a rose-tinted, vaguely British-country-village feel to it, with its colonial-era bungalows.
On arrival, check in to your Inspiring Stay for the next two nights, the incredible Grand Hotel. It may be the 21st century, but colonial splendour still reigns in all its past glory at the Grand Hotel. Built in 1891, this was the palatial residence of the former Governor of Sri Lanka, Sir Edward Barnes; today we offer the ultimate in comfort and the best of traditions from the âgood old daysâ to all who seek the charms of our famed hill country landmark.
Please note: a smart casual dress code applies for dinner at all restaurants and bars. Guests in short trousers and sleeveless shirts and rubber slippers will not be permitted to enter the restaurants.
A closer look at your incredible accommodation, the Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya: the incredible Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya, an enduring icon in this tranquil town perched on a mountain ridge overlooking lush green countryside in tea country. Oozing colonial charm, the hotel began life in the early 19th century as the stately holiday home of the fifth Governor of Ceylon. Itâs since evolved over the centuries to retain a romantic, old-world ambience alongside modern comforts. In an enviable location, there are elegant, well-appointed rooms, magnificent gardens and an array of hotel amenities and activities including music therapy, yoga and more. The Grand Hotel is also renowned for its traditional afternoon tea, a quintessential British tradition which youâll experience on this tour.Â
Day 6 Nuwara EliyaÂ
Today you will have a leisurely morning.
In the afternoon you will visit a Tea Plantation and Factory. Here you will enjoy an absolute tea experience, taking you from the moment young tea leaves are plucked to being processed in the factory to make a steaming cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase high quality tea.
This afternoon, enjoy an Inspiring Taste at probably the most talked of outlet in Nuwara Eliya, the Grand Tea Lounge. Here we enjoy an iconic High Tea at the Grand Hotel.
At approximately 5:30am, leave for Horton Plains National Park. This park holds great importance due to the rich and unique biodiversity and being a catchment area feeding some of the main rivers of Sri Lanka. It is also known to be a 'super biodiversity hotspot' and thus declared a UNESCO site in 2010. The national park is most famous for the vista - World's End.
You will be accompanied by a private escort the entire duration of the hike - from the Horton Plains Park Park Office, to World's End (via Mini World's End) and back. Wear strong and comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses. Bring sunscreen, food and water. The weather can change very quickly on the plains – one minute it can be sunny and clear, the next chilly and misty. Bring a few extra layers of warm clothing.
Start time: 5:30am departure from hotel End time: 12:30pm return to hotel Distance: 7.5km round trip - 150m elevation gain Inclusions: return transfers, entrance into Horton Plains National Park, packed breakfast, private escort
There are no safety rails available so we recommend this activity for those who are physically fit and go on long walks often. We do not recommend this if you have a difficult time walking along uneven, potentially wet, and rocky terrain.
Day 7 Nuwara Eliya KandyÂ
This morning, board at Nanuoya Station for Kandy on a famous train journey, said to be one of the most scenic and beautiful in the world. Apart from the breathtaking sceneries of the tea country and picturesque waterfalls, it is a chance for you to mingle with local people.
Discover the rich history of Kandy, once known as Senkadagala, during its time as the Hill Capital from 1514-1815 AD. Named a UNESCO heritage site in 1988, Kandy boasts a beautiful lake, historic temples like the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and well-preserved ruins of the royal palaces.
Enjoy some free time upon arrival in Kandy during the afternoon.
Day 8 Kandy
Explore the beautiful city of Kandy with an included Tuk Tuk and Bazaar tour, followed by a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Relax in the afternoon with a stroll around the picturesque Kandy Lake.
In the evening, visit the revered Temple of Tooth, home to a sacred relic of the Buddha and its guardian elephants.
End your day with a spectacular Sri Lankan Cultural Performance.
Day 9 Kandy Minneriya National Park  SigiriyaÂ
Today, leave for Sigiriya.
Enroute, enjoy a private jeep safari at Minneriya National Park. Located in the districts of Matale and Polonnaruwa and bordered by the 'Mahaweli' and 'Amban' rivers, this park stretches an impressive 36,948 hectares. It was declared a National park in 1984, making it the only one in the Central Province. It's a paradise for nature lovers and one of the best places to observe elephants.
Continue to Sigiriya for check-in.
Please note: Since elephants are migratory animals, we may visit Wasgamuwa National Park on this day instead, based on the elephant locations.
This evening enjoy an Inspiring Taste with some sundowner pre-dinner Arrack (a local cocktail) or something else to suit your tastes with some canapes.
Day 10 Sigiriya Sigiriya Rock Fortress  Polonnaruwa  Sigiriya
In the morning, we'll climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (also known as Lion's Rock) - an extraordinary artistic complex dating back to 477-498 AD. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has become a global attraction due to its unique architecture.
For lunch, participate in an Inspiring Taste cooking demonstration where you'll learn to prepare Sri Lankan rice and curry (5-6 curries). Savor your meal while overlooking the beautiful gardens.
In the afternoon, we'll take a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital city of Sri Lanka (1017-1235 AD). Polonnaruwa was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 after the fall of Anuradhapura.
Enjoy a scenic and leisurely bicycle ride to Parakrama Samudra Reservoir before continuing to Polonnaruwa for a sightseeing bike tour. Pedal along ancient ruins and see Polonnaruwa from a different perspective.
The route is very flat and suitable for all levels of bicycle experience.
Approx duration: 3 hours
Day 11 Sigiriya
Spend the morning at your leisure, then in the afternoon, explore the impressive Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. This UNESCO heritage site dates back to the 3rd Century BC and boasts 157 statues and extraordinary paintings covering a vast 2100m2 area, making it the most impressive cave complex in Sri Lanka. It's truly a masterpiece worth experiencing.
Leave on foot or by bicycle and travel through Audangawa village. Visit the local temple and evoke blessings from the priest. Visit a villager’s house and enjoy a warm herbal drink or a king coconut. Wander through the village passing paddy fields and Chena cultivations.
Day 12 Sigiriya Chilaw
Today we make for the coastal town of Chilaw to finish off our time in Sri Lanka relaxing near the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean. Chilaw is well known for the three 'C's' - Crabs, Coconuts and Coreas.Â
Day 13 Chilaw
Spend the day relaxing at the beach or by the pool.
An early 6:15am departure from your accommodation to ensure you catch the wildlife during their most active time of the day at Anawilundawa Bird Sanctuary visit. The sanctuary includes three vastly different ecosystems; the coast, the mangroves and the fresh water tanks, making it one of the six RAMSAR Wetlands in Sri Lanka.
Whilst here, enjoy a gentle 3.5km walk through the sanctuary viewing some of Sri Lanka's most favourable nesting and breeding grounds for hundreds of species of birds.
Some of the bird species found here are herons, the open-bill, great cormorant, white ibis, egret, atalk, peasant tailed jacna and the purple swamp hen. A total of 20 species of mammals have been recorded here, this includes the rusty spotted cat, fishing cat, the indian otter, slender loris, toque monkey and 74 species of butterflies.
Return to your accommodation in time for breakfast.
Please note: the Anawilundawa Bird Sanctuary is similar to a wetlands/bird watching trail and does not have any inclosures which houses wildlife.
Day 14 Chilaw Colombo Home
Unfortunately, today marks the end of your incredible tour through Sri Lanka.
Late check-out is included as you have access to your room until 8pm.
At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the Bandaranike International Airport (CMB) to board your flight home.

These guidelines are to ensure that each tour group is conducted as expected and to ensure the overall satisfaction of all Inspiring Vacations customers.
As a general rule, porterage is not included, therefore at all times you are expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available.
This particular tour is categorised as a â3â:

You will be asked for AUD$35 per person. Please note that this tipping is not for the guide or driver, merely for the guide to tip the services of other local workers during your tour. While not made compulsory, if you choose not to contribute to the kitty it means that the guide is tipping for these services out of their own pocket. Your cooperation in this instance is most appreciated.
Further, tipping for your guide and driver will be collected at the conclusion of their services. To remove the uncertainty and stress of not knowing how much is appropriate to tip we recommend AUD$6 per person per day for your guide and AUD$3 per person per day for your driver to be paid in local currency. Please refer to the itinerary.
Although smaller in size to Yala National Park, Udawalawe National Park is considered one of the world's best places to see wild elephants. Largely comprised of grasslands and bush forest, Udawalawe is also one of the best national parks in Sri Lanka for game spotting and being far less crowded than Yala, it makes for a more enjoyable experience for travellers and therefore, we believe is a more than suitable alternative for one safari day. You will still be able to visit Block 4 or 5 of Yala National Park, so you are able to experience both.

Go to SRI LANKA they need us!
We done the 19 day Grand Sri Lanka tour. This company proved to me that it does its homework, in getting value for the dollar. The hotels were first class, beyond what I expected. The food excellent. we were worried that we would get sick, but, I trusted every hotel. Also took my own precautions, as you do. I didnt need to worry. The tours were exceptional, I should travel, and see how the other half lives, more often, as a reminder how fortunate we are to be an Australian. Inspiring vacations, thought of everything, Really pleased we travelled with them. This was our second trip with them, Spain, Morrocco,Portugal. Not one complaint theren either.
The 12 Day Malaysia & Langkawi Beach Break was incredible. It was the perfect balance of unforgettable sights & cultural experiences with resort relaxation and amazing food experiences. It was also an ideal first overseas trip for my two young daughters at 8 and 10 years old. It was my first trip to Malaysia and I would go back in a heartbeat. Malaysian people couldn't be more welcoming and we found it very easy to get around. The tour was well planned out and showed us the huge diversity in Malaysian culture, landscapes and tourist attractions. We had three guides who were all very knowledgeable, professional and extremely proud of their country. Nothing was a hassle and our guides were very accommodating and understanding of our girls' limitations as young travellers. Our accommodation was a mix of 4 & 5 star and generally excellent. All hotels had pools to cool off in and great daily buffets for breakfast. The resort in Langkawi was superb. We loved all of the cities we visited but Penang was incredible, definitely our favourite. We stayed in Georgetown and loved the stunning colonial architecture as a backdrop for buzzing streets and cool street art. Georgetown is a dream for anybody who could wander from cafe to restaurant to bar for days on end. As a Melburnian, I felt quite at home and could have easily stayed another week. The final days spent lounging at the beachside resort in Langkawi were paradise and a perfect way to finish the holiday. The beach was idyllic and the accommodation, pool and facilities set in the jungle were relaxing and tranquil, other than the occasional visit from a cute monkey. Overall, this trip was amazing value and my whole family loved it from start to finish. I've recommended Malaysia and Inspiring Vacations to everybody I've spoken to since we've returned and would love to return there in the future to explore KL further. A huge thank you to Inspiring Vacations for making our family holiday so enjoyable and one we'll never forget.
It was really great to have AAT Kings plan the itinerary. It was very well planned and beyond my expectations. We saw so much of the fabulous Tasmanian east coast in a five days. Margaret, our Tour Director, did a wonderful job looking after 46 people on the tour. Darren the driver was so kind and helpful. There were great photo opportunities along the way and great bakeries for lunch. The accommodation was lovely and clean and quiet. I would highly recommend the trip. It was very relaxing.
Halong Bay, Hoi An and Siem Reap were the standout highlights for us. The included activities and accommodation was excellent value. The ability to go it alone in terms of dining and additional tours allowed us to interact with the locals and enhance our travel experience.
I had a 10/10 escorted tour to Egypt with Inspiring Vacations. Everything was amazing right from the pickup from the airport to the drop off to the airport. Was a perfectly planned tour that was perfectly executed. I will definitely be using Inspiring Vacations again. They certainly know what they are doing!
An incredible adventure and holiday. Well organised, excellent inclusions and itinerary and a fabulous group leader. Accommodation was well above average and the food inclusions were great.

We would highly recommend anyone to go as soon as possible. The bible came alive and we wish all our friends to experience this. Our Pastor Danny was great and spirit filled and we would recommend anyone to go with CTF team. Thank you Go travel for making it possible for us this life time event. We hope to go again soon. Hotels, events, etc., were all excellent - I cant complain, even the people we travelled with were great. we had a wonderful time and fun all the way... God Bless to all who made it possible. To travel to Israel had been a desire of my heart for many years. The 'Holyland Tour' was more than I could had dreamed. Pastor Danny, his beautiful family, Go Travel & helpers and lovely caring Christians, all contributed to the enjoyment of the trip. Walking (or should I say hobbling) where our Lord Jesus walked was an unforgetable experience. My sister Faye agrees also with this. Israel seemed to engender a spiritual atmosphere that is difficult to put into words. But this filled my heart with much joy. I wish to thank all concerned as I arrived home with a closer connection with God and His love which is the power that transforms and this has been my experience. Praise the Lord and thank you! PS I regret that I did not ask for email address so if the friends I made wish to contact me, my email is [email protected]

We flew to Sri Lanka for our homecoming trip in January 2013. Tamara and the team organised our flights and accommodation in Colombo; they bent over backwards in accommodating numerous changes that had to be made to our group booking and ensured we were being beautifully looked after once we arrived. A big thank you for making such an important occasion even more memorable - we are definitely looking forward to organising our next trip through GoTravel as well.

Malith Fernando, thank you once again for putting together such and interesting and diverse trip around Sri Lanka for six days. Our drivel Kamal was excellent. He added to the experience by putting in a few extra suggestions like the elephant orphanage and the turtle sanctuary. We had very knowledgable and interesting guides at all the historic places we visited and the choice of hotels was just right! We have some wonderful memories of Sri Lanka now!
