MSC ships Poesia and Magnifica with World Cruises in 2023

MSC Cruises announced that a 2nd ship - MSC Magnifica , is joining MSC Poesia on the 2023 MSC World Cruise .

The two boats will host 5000+ passengers for a voyage around the world and they'll both depart on January 4 from Civitavecchia-Rome (Italy) and January 5 from Genoa (Italy) for simultaneous world voyages, taking different routes.

MSC Magnifica is expected to replicate the same itinerary that had to be performed by MSC Poesia for the 2022 MSC World Cruise.

The decision was taken after assessment to cancel World Cruise 2022 as it would not have been possible to carry it out because of the many ports still facing restrictions. MSC Magnifica offers a solution for impacted passengers to have an alternative for the journey.

Sales for MSC Magnifica’s World Cruise 2023 are open and guests booked on the 2022 MSC World Cruise will be contacted and given priority in reprotecting the existing booking on the ship.

Once the ships cross the Mediterranean Sea, they will part ways in the Atlantic. MSC Magnifica is expected to circumnavigate South America, cross the South Pacific then on to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Red Sea and through the Suez Canal back into the Mediterranean.

MSC Poesia will transit the Panama Canal and sail up the West Coast of Central America & North America whilst moving on to the Pacific and then an extended period in Asia. After crossing the Indian Ocean, the ship will return to the Mediterranean via the Suez.

MSC Magnifica will call at 43 destinations in 24 different countries with 25+ UNESCO World Heritage sites across 5 continents. The 117-day journey offers 9 extended overnights and the cruise ship will cross the equator twice.

More explorations await in Lifou & Mare islands in New Caledonia, Alotau (Papua New Guinea) prior to heading to Lombok island in Indonesia, then Singapore and Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) .

Before reaching the Suez Canal transit, passengers can see Colombo (Sri Lanka) and spend 2 days taking in the sights of Mumbai (India) prior to reaching Salalah (Oman) and Aqaba (Jordan) for Petra .

With no more than 4 consecutive sea days, passengers will enjoy 9 overnights including Buenos Aires (Argentina) , Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) , Ushuaia (Argentina) , Callao (Peru) , Valparaiso (Chile) , Papeete (Tahiti) , Sydney (Australia) , Benoa (Indonesia) , Mumbai (India).
