How much does it cost.

The price of the tour is calculated based on how many people are on the tour. Book for 3 people and get the best rate per person!

I am booking a flight for 2 labelled, “Private Flight”, but there is a box asking “Would you like to book the whole aircraft?” for a fee. Why?

The private option charges 1/2 a standard seat price in addition to the initial two seats to keep the third seat empty and guarantee a private flight. Without this option, there is a chance the third seat will be filled with a single occupant from another party. We provide this option to make the flight less expensive for a party of two that wishes for a cheaper flight and do not mind the extra company.

I’m traveling alone. Your website says $XXX per person, can I pay you that and go by myself?

This is possible, but not guaranteed. Please call us to book for 1 person – we will check the schedule and see if we have a tour with an open seat. We will combine you with two other travelers who chose not to pay extra for the PRIVATE option.

What do I wear on helicopter ride?

Make sure you have sunglasses or regular glasses to protect your eyes from the wind! Keep long hair pulled back. We also recommend you to wear a light jacket if you get cold easily.

What can I expect on my tour?

You can expect to see the most beautiful sights on Oahu, guided by a knowledgeable and courteous pilot. It will be an unforgettable experience! Our tours accommodate 1-3 passengers and we offer doors on or doors off options.

Is flying with the doors off safe?

Yes. The helicopter model we operate is specifically approved by FAA for any door on/door off configuration. You will also required to wear a seat belt all the time. Our staff will instruct you about in-flight safety measures before your flight. Your safety is our first priority!

What will I see on the tour?

Each tour offers a different set of a locations that you will see. For example, 18 min tour is centered around Waikiki and Urban Honolulu, but 60 min flight will take you around the whole island where you will see mountains, waterfalls, and historic Pearl Harbor!

Mornings and evenings work well because the sun isn’t directly overhead and won’t interfere with your pictures. Visibility is sometimes better in the morning than it is in the afternoon.

Q: What should I wear for a Hawaii helicopter ride?

Dress comfortably, like you would for any outdoor activity in Hawaii. However, if you choose a doors-off tour, your flight will be windy and cold so jackets and/or sweatshirts are required and long pants are recommended. Closed toed shoes are also required for doors-off tours. Hats are often not allowed on board your flight. Lastly, for anyone with long hair – a hair tie is recommended.

Must-do while in Oahu! Bought a ticket last-minute and was in the air a few hours later. We flew along Waikiki Beach, around Diamond Head and back along Honolulu before landing. So peaceful to see Hawaii from such a breathtaking vantage point. Highly recommend you do this right when you get to the island, so you can scope out places to visit on the ground.

After 25 years in service, Hawaii helicopter tour company flies final flight

H ONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After 25 years in Hawaii, Paradise Helicopters has flown its last flight to bid a fond farewell to the company’s owners.

Paradise Helicopters said online that its owners, Calvin and Stacey Dorn, decided to retire and spend more time with their four children, grandchild and friends.

The company had been running tours on Oahu, Lanai and Hawaii Island.

It also documented and provided aid during disasters, including the 2018 Kilauea eruption and the Maui Wildfires.

Tour, charter and utility operations conducted by Paradise Helicopters ceased last Saturday.

Passengers left waiting days for delayed flight: ‘We want to go home’

HONOLULU ( KHN L/Gray News) - A Hawaiian Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Honolulu has been delayed for days, and passengers are wanting answers.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight 5 was scheduled to take off from Las Vegas on Wednesday evening.

But that flight has been delayed, canceled, and rescheduled multiple times.

“I just hope all of us get home safely,” said Nichole, a passenger. “We want to go home.”

She said the first delay for her, and her family was on Wednesday night. The flight got pushed from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

At around 10 p.m., passengers were notified their flight was rescheduled to Thursday morning.

Then on Thursday, another day of delays with the new flight being pushed back to Saturday.

“We’re all pretty unsure if this flight is even going to go, we’re not having a good time,” she said. “They also let us know if we were to go with another airline or they were to rebook us another way that we would be waiving any right to compensation.”

She added, “I’m about $1,000 out of pocket right now, as far as like money lost.”

According to Hawaiian Airlines, a baggage belt loader that made contact with the aircraft required an inspection. However, they were unable to complete an assessment before crewmembers exceeded their duty time.

Due to ongoing aircraft inspection, the flight was canceled.

Hawaiian said it provided guests with $20 food vouchers and hotel rooms through Saturday.

But Nichole said they had to check out of their room Friday morning.

“We asked the bell desk to just hold our luggage and see if they can hold it until tomorrow,” Nichole said. “So, luckily there’s a place for them, we have nine pieces of luggage.”

Hawaiian Airlines apologized if guests were offered shared rooms because of limited hotel availability. In addition, it said guests should contact its consumer affairs team to request reimbursement of any eligible personal expenses, including meals and transportation.

The airline said its team works to process refunds within four weeks.

Court rejects Hunter Biden’s appeal in gun case, setting stage for trial to begin next month

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hunter Biden’s  federal gun case  should move forward, an appeals court ruled Thursday, setting the stage for the president’s son to stand trial on criminal charges next month in Delaware.

Hunter Biden’s lawyers went to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals after the judge overseeing the case last month  rejected his bid to dismiss the prosecution . A three-judge panel of the appeals court did not rule on the merits of his claims, but said the court doesn’t have jurisdiction to review the matter.

In an order shortly after that ruling came down, U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika said the case would proceed to trial on June 3, and is expected to last three to six days. Noreika, who was appointed to the bench by former President Donald Trump, later denied another bid to dismiss the case that challenged the constitutionality of the central gun charge.

The rulings pave the way for the Justice Department to bring President Joe Biden’s son to trial in the midst of the president’s re-election campaign. Hunter Biden is separately charged in a tax case in California that is tentatively scheduled to go to trial in late June.

His legal team, however, suggested they will continue fighting the issue, which they can ask the full appeals court to consider.

“In reviewing the panel’s decision, we believe the issues involved are too important and further review of our request is appropriate,” defense lawyer, Abbe Lowell, said in an emailed statement.

Hunter Biden  has pleaded not guilty to lying about his drug use in October 2018 on a form to buy a gun that he kept for about 11 days in Delaware. He has acknowledged an addiction to crack cocaine during that period, but his lawyers have said he didn’t break the law.

The yearslong investigation had looked ready to wrap up with a plea deal last year, but  the agreement imploded  after a judge raised questions about it. Biden was subsequently indicted.

Under the deal, he would have gotten two years’ probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor tax charges. He also would have  avoided prosecution on the gun charge  if he stayed out of trouble.

His attorneys have argued that prosecutors bowed to political pressure to indict him amid heavy criticism of the plea deal from Trump and other Republicans. They had also challenged the appointment of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as special counsel to lead the prosecution.

Prosecutors countered the evidence against him was “overwhelming,” including  cocaine residue  found in the pouch where he stored his gun, and noted that charges had been filed during the presidency of his father.

In her ruling last month, Noreika said that the defense had provided “nothing credible” to suggest that the lawmakers or anyone else had any impact on the special counsel, adding: “It is all speculation.”

He faces separate tax counts in Los Angeles alleging he failed to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes over three years while living an “extravagant lifestyle,” during his days of using drugs. He is separately challenging rulings rejecting his motions to dismiss those charges.
