Lulea, Sweden

Venture into the northernmost reaches of the Baltic Sea and discover Lulea, a peaceful town nestled on the Luleälven River, one of Sweden’s longest waterways. Lulea is the gateway to a truly unique UNESCO World Heritage site, the Church Town of Gammelstad, a mesmerizing jumble of over 400 red-and-white painted wooden buildings surrounding a 15th-century church. Sibenik, Croatia

Hugging the estuary of the Krka River and protected by two jutting peninsulas, Sibenik may be less known that other Croatian luminaries such as Dubrovnik and Split, but its magical atmosphere nevertheless makes it stand apart. The UNESCO World Heritage site Old Town is home to an astonishing four fortresses, including the Fort of Saint Nicholas, built on a small spit of land almost entirely surrounded by the sea, and the hilltop Fort of Saint John, which offers breathtaking vistas over the red-tiled city and the myriad islands beyond. Just inland, discover sublime Krka National Park, a vast, unspoiled expanse anchored by the fabled Skradinski Buk waterfall, whose multi-tiered cascades have enthralled visitors for centuries.

Pozzallo, Italy

This Sicilian seaside gem has become an Italian holidaymakers’ favorite for its Blue Flag beaches, the international top honor for pristine water and environmental responsibility. Rising at one end of Pietre Nere Beach, the imposing 15th-century Torre Cabrera fortress is softened by several delicate arched windows, and the lively seaside promenade offers the perfect opportunity to mingle with locals. Nearby, discover the superb historic towns of Noto, Modica and Ragusa, exemplary masterpieces of late Baroque architecture and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Oceania Debuts New Mediterranean Sailings for 2025

• April 27, 2024

Oceania Cruises announced new 2025 Mediterranean itineraries, ranging from nine to 56 days, according to a company statement. 

The line’s Marina and Nautica will set sail in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic.

The 16 new voyages feature destinations including Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome and Lisbon, allowing guests to explore resort towns such as Monte Carlo, Cannes, Positano and Sorrento.

“Oceania Cruises is rightly renowned for its inventive and captivating itineraries, and our array of 2025 Mediterranean sailings is the perfect way to spotlight one of the most popular and exciting cruise regions of the world,” said Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania Cruises. “With shore excursions to inspire everyone, from active adventurous types to history buffs to foodies, our small, luxurious ships are the perfect way to discover this majestic region of the world.”

• Ancient Pompeii (Naples, Italy) The ruins of Pompeii never fail to amaze those who view them. The ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD essentially captured the town and its fleeing population in a frozen snapshot. Now historians and history lovers alike can wonder at this city frozen in time. From the remains you can learn about how people in Pompeii lived, what was in their homes and how they dressed. As you return back to the ship you can reflect on the beauty of the land when you view the seaside resort towns of Sorrento and Castellammare.  

• Panoramic Dubrovnik and Countryside (Dubrovnik, Croatia) Drive along the southern Dalmatian Coast and spot the Old Town, which is a medieval walled city along the coastline. Then head to Cavtat, a serene town with cobblestone streets and old buildings. This town was originally settled by the Greeks in the 4th century BC. Next you’ll visit Konavle Valley and stop in a powder mill where you’ll learn how corn and flour were milled and you’ll try Croatian snacks like smoked ham, cheese and homemade bread, along with a glass of locally produced wine.  

• Kervansaray Nightclub Show and Dinner (Istanbul, Turkey) Opened in 1949, this is a famed nightclub in Istanbul that offers you a performance of the traditional dances and songs of Turkey. Here you’ll indulge in both dinner and a 2-hour show where you’ll see belly dancing and hear a local singer belt out classic folk songs. The club is a beautiful spot as well, decorated with paintings by Ibrahim Safi, a popular artist in Turkey.  

• Gaudi’s Hidden Treasure (Barcelona, Spain) Visit the Colonia Guell, a village for factory workers designed by the famed Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. The space is named after Eusebio Guell who was an entrepreneur who worked to improve the social conditions of his workers. However, the Guell’s stopped financing the building and it was never finished. This site, however, is still considered an important space for Gaudi fans for it shows a number of his innovations. It is a beautiful structure as well, with mosaics and colored glass windows.  

• Ibiza Beach Break (Ibiza, Spain) Nightlife and beaches are what this beautiful Spanish island are known for, so take advantage of the beautiful Mediterranean weather and spend a day at the beach. You’ll visit Playa d’en Bossa where you can lay out, go swimming or head to the restaurants, bars and shops. While on the beach you’ll have great views of the island’s Old Town.  

• The Principality of Monaco (Monte Carlo, Monaco) Head to Monaco, an independent principality nestled between France and Italy whose monarchy is known for its wealth. During your day here you’ll see the region’s highlights, like the Oceanographic Museum and the Prince’s Palace where you’ll see the changing of the guards. You’ll also enjoy lunch at a local restaurant followed by free time to take in the Place du Casino, Monte Carlo’s major highlight, or you can go shopping and admire the Hotel de Paris.

Oceania Cruises Unveils New Mediterranean Sailings for 2025

On Thursday, Oceania Cruises debuted their line of new Mediterranean cruises for next year in Miami. 

The new sailings will range from nine-to-56 days on their ships, the Nautica and the Marina, and will visit a number of islands and cities in the Mediterranean. Destinations include Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome, and Lisbon, as well as a range of towns, which currently includes Monte Carlo, Cannes, Positano, Sorrento Tirana, Sarande, Trapani, Calvi, Propriano and Sibenik.

While there, Oceania guests can engage in one of many offered excursions and activities of their choosing, such as touring the volcanos in Santorini or visiting the fjord in Kotor.

The New Itineraries 

The Marina is a 1250-guest ocean liner that will soon be refurbished to upgrade all the public areas and penthouse suites, as well as add two new restaurants, The Aquamar Kitchen and Al Fresco Evening Pizzeria.

Oceania Cruises has debuted an array of new 2025 Mediterranean sailings, ranging from nine to 56 days, to some of the most breathtaking destinations in Europe. The line’s Marina and Nautica will set sail on enticing voyages taking in iconic islands in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Adriatic; well-loved European resort towns and bustling cities, and lesser-known ports of call.

Cities including Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Rome and Lisbon frame the 16 voyages, encompassing resort towns such as Monte Carlo, Cannes, Positano and Sorrento, to hidden gems including Tirana and Sarande in Albania; Trapani in Sicily; Calvi and Propriano in Corsica, and Sibenik in Croatia.

Thanks to Oceania Cruises’ extensive set of small-group, immersive shore excursions, guests can rediscover previously-visited favourites through a new lens, or discover new places for the very first time. In Santorini, guests can choose an adventurous tour of the island’s active volcanoes, or whilst in Montenegro, see a new side of Kotor by exploring Europe’s southernmost fjord, Boka Bay.

New 2025 Mediterranean Itineraries

The 1,250-guest Marina will undergo an expansive refurbishment next month. The refresh will include the addition of two new dining options: Aquamar Kitchen , the new wellness-inspired dining venue that debuted on Vista last year; and the al fresco evening Pizzeria , serving spectacular Italian dishes including pizzas and burrata with stunning seascape views; plus an expanded poolside ice cream parlour serving milkshakes and smoothies. All Penthouse Suites and bathrooms will be completely reinspired, and the ship’s public areas will be refreshed.
