Ned Flanders-themed metal band Okilly Dokilly announce farewell tour
“I’m not sure if or when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do’”
Okilly Dokilly – the world’s first (and only) metal band inspired by The Simpsons ’ God-fearing neighbour Ned Flanders – have announced a 21-date run of North American headline shows for 2022, marking what may well be the group’s final ever performances.

The run, aptly branded ‘Tourdilly Do ’22’, will kick off on Thursday April 14 with a show at The Shrine in Tulsa, before rolling on through with a show almost every night until Saturday May 7, when the tour wraps up – alongside the band’s storied history, which includes a full-circle moment on The Simpsons itself – at Austin’s Empire Control.
Tickets for all shows on the tour can be found via the “Nedal” band’s website .
“When we started Okilly Dokilly, our goal was to play maybe two shows,” frontman Head Ned said in a press release. “We imagined being the third or fourth band on a seven-band metal show. We would step out in our sweaters and confuse the 12 or 13 people in attendance, and then have a great story. Things turned out a little differently.”
The band initially formed somewhat half-earnestly in 2015 , breaking out as a viral sensation before they’d even played their first show. They minted two albums over six years, with 2016’s ‘Howdilly Doodilly’ followed up in 2019 with ‘Howdilly Twodilly’.
Okilly Dokilly made their UK touring debut in 2018 , with their ostensible peak coming less than a year later when their single ‘White Wine Spritzer’ was featured in the Simpsons episode ‘I’m Just A Girl Who Can’t Say D’oh’ . At the time, Al Jean, the show’s executive producer, said: “We saw the video and knew they had to be on the show.”
“Okilly Dokilly did way more than I ever expected,” Head Ned continued in his statement. “I’m really grateful for all the people who have been part of it. And especially to everyone who came out to our shows to say howdilly doodilly. We’ve been touring pretty relentlessly since 2016 and, last year, I became a dad. So it’s time for a break. It’s time for me to shave off the Ned mustache and grow the dad mustache.

“We just want to let everyone know that we won’t be touring or making any new music in the next few years. I’m not sure if or when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do.’”

Okilly Dokilly announce ‘Tourdilly Do’ 2022 Tour dates
by Zenae Zukowski | Nov 2, 2021 | News , Touring | 0 comments
Simpsons Ned Flanders devotees Okilly Dokilly have announced their return to the road, which could also be their last. Dubbed Tourdilly Do, known as the band’s tentative farewell tour, will take place in April and May of next year with special guests Medford and Steaksauce Mustache. Following the tour, the group will be announcing their indefinite hiatus. However, it isn’t clear at the time if this will be a permanent goodbye for the Nedal act as members will be spending time to focus on family and other projects.
Singer Head Ned comments:

Ned Flanders-Themed Metal Band Okilly Dokilly Announce 2022 US “Farewell” Tour
The outing could be the last tour for the "heavy Nedal band"
Ned Flanders-themed metal band Okilly Dokilly have announced a Spring 2022 US “farewell” tour, appropriately dubbed “Tourdilly Do ’22.”
The world’s only “Nedal band” will be heading out on what could be its final tour. According to a press release, the group is planning to go on indefinite hiatus following the outing, and they may end being a permanent breakup.
What started as a tongue-in-cheek novelty act among musician friends quickly turned into a viral sensation. When the metal scene caught wind of a band based on Homer Simpson’s loveably pious neighbor Ned Flanders, Okilly Dokilly became a hot commodity overnight. Tours were booked before they even played a show.
“When we started Okilly Dokilly, our goal was to play maybe two shows,” frontman Head Ned said. “We imagined being the third or fourth band on a seven-band metal show. We would step out in our sweaters and confuse the 12 or 13 people in attendance, and then have a great story. Things turned out a little differently.”
It all came full circle in 2019 when the band’s video for “White Wine Spritzer” was included in the credits to a Season 30 episode of The Simpsons .
“Okilly Dokilly did way more than I ever expected,” said singer Head Ned. “I’m really grateful for all the people who have been part of it. And especially to everyone who came out to our shows to say howdilly doodilly. We’ve been touring pretty relentlessly since 2016 and, last year, I became a dad. So it’s time for a break. It’s time for me to shave off the Ned mustache and grow the dad mustache.”

On the band’s future, Head Ned added: “We just want to let everyone know that we won’t be touring or making any new music in the next few years. I’m not sure if or when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do.’”
The upcoming US tour kicks off April 14th in Tulsa and runs through a May 7th concert in Austin, Texas. You can get tickets via Ticketmaster .

‘ The Simpsons ‘-inspired ‘Nedal’ band Okilly Dokilly will embark on the ‘ Tourdilly Do ‘22 ‘ before going on an indefinite break. At the moment the trek could wind up being their last, with their vocalist Head Ned stating:
“ Okilly Dokilly did way more than I ever expected. I’m really grateful for all the people who have been part of it. And especially to everyone who came out to our shows to say howdilly doodilly. It’s time for me to shave off the Ned mustache and grow the dad mustache.” The ‘ Tourdilly Do ‘22 ‘ tour will serve as a ‘farewell’ tour for the band, as they’re unsure whether or not the hiatus will remain permanent. We just want to let everyone know that we won’t be touring or making any new music in the next few years. I’m not sure if or when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do’.”
Steaksauce Mustache have been booked to join the band on that run, here’s the dates:

Okilly Dokilly, the world’s only Nedal band is announcing the ‘Tourdilly Do ‘22’ tour and it will be their last for a while.
The Tourdilly Do ’22 tour will take the place of the rescheduled ‘When the Comet Gets Here’ tour with shows occurring across the Midwest and Eastern US from April to May of 2022.
Following the tour, the band will be officially announcing an indefinite hiatus. After 6 years of existence, 2 albums and several national and international tours, the band will be taking some time to focus on family and other projects.
Lead singer, Head Ned said about the band’s history, “When we started Okilly Dokilly, our goal was to play, like, 2 shows. We imagined being the 2nd or 3rd band on one of those 7 band metal shows. We would step out in our sweaters and confuse the 12 or 13 people in attendance, and then have a great story. None of that came to fruition, except the great story.”
The band went viral in August of 2015, before ever playing a show. In one week, they amassed thousands of social media followers, had millions of streams on their bandcamp page and landed as the top trending topic on both Reddit and Facebook. In 2019, the band landed and even bigger honor, when their music video for ‘White Wine Spritzer’ was broadcast during the credits of a Season 30 episode of The Simpsons.
“Okilly Dokilly did way more than I ever expected,” said Head Ned. “I’m really grateful for all the people who have been part of it. And especially to everyone who came out to our shows to say howdilly doodilly. For me, it’s time for a break. We’ve been touring pretty relentlessly since 2016 and, last year, I became a dad. It’s time to shave off the Ned mustache and grow the dad mustache.”
The ‘Tourdilly Do ‘22’ tour will serve as a ‘going away’ tour for the band, but likely won’t be a permanent end. Head Ned said about the band’s future “We just want to let everyone know that we won’t be touring or making any new music in the next few years. I’m not sure when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do’.”

Ned Flanders-Themed Metal Band Okilly Dokilly to Say ‘Toodily Do’ With 2022 Farewell Tour
Okilly Dokilly , the Ned Flanders-themed metal band that pays homage to the popular do-good neighbor on The Simpsons , have just confirmed they will be on indefinite hiatus after a farewell tour dubbed 'Tourdilly Do '22.'
Reflecting on the unlikely success they found, the band stated as a collective, "When we started Okilly Dokilly, our goal was to play maybe two shows. We imagined being the third or fourth band on a seven-band metal show. We would step out in our sweaters and confuse the 12 or 13 people in attendance, and then have a great story. Things turned out a little differently."
In 2019, the group's peculiar vision for a band came full circle in 2019 when they were actually featured on the "White Win Spritzer" episode of The Simpsons . Even so, all good things must come to an end, for now at least, and Okilly Dokilly will embark on a U.S. tour with Steaksauce Mustache from April 14 through May 7.
See those stops below.
“Okilly Dokilly did way more than I ever expected,” said vocalist Head Ned. "I’m really grateful for all the people who have been part of it. And especially to everyone who came out to our shows to say howdilly doodilly. We’ve been touring pretty relentlessly since 2016 and, last year, I became a dad. So it’s time for a break. It’s time for me to shave off the Ned mustache and grow the dad mustache."
From all of us at Loudwire, congratulations to you and your family, Head Ned!
Signing off, Head Ned added, "We just want to let everyone know that we won’t be touring or making any new music in the next few years. I’m not sure if or when we’ll be back, but for now, it’s ‘toodilly do’.”

Irkutsk to Krasnoyarsk: The road between two of Siberia’s most thriving cities
The Paris of Siberia
Originally established as a trading center, Irkutsk was founded over 350 years ago. Today, the wealth that once poured into the city is evident in the many historic wooden houses featuring elaborate woodwork and window trim. Once referred to as the “Paris of Siberia,” Irkutsk has traditionally served as Siberia’s cultural, economic and intellectual capital.
Don’t leave the city before visiting the Znamensky Monastery or the Bogoyavlensky Cathedral , which were both originally destroyed by fires during Irkutsk’s early days. The monastery, completed in 1772, features a small cemetery where notable locals are buried. The cathedral features a jumble of onion domes and towers that have long made it one of Siberia’s most iconic buildings.
The Hotel Victoria is a good option with rooms starting at $100 a night including breakfast and parking.
After exploring the southern coast of Lake Baikal on your drive along the Trans-Siberian Highway, you can visit the lake’s western coast as a day trip from Irkutsk.
Hop on a ferry run by the Eastern-Siberian Inland Navigation Company, also known by its Cyrillic acronym, VSRP . The ferry company offers package tours and ferry service to numerous towns on Lake Baikal.
If you just want to get out on the water for a few hours, VSRP runs a historic tour along the Angara River (about $10, 1 hour) that includes an audio guide. You can also book a tour to beautiful Peschanaya Bay (about $50, 10 hours, Fridays and Sundays only), or the quaint lakeside village of Bolshie Koty (about $26, 4-10 hours depending on the boat).
You can also buy a ferry ticket at VSRP to many Baikal towns. Bolshie Koty (about $13, 1.5 hours from Irkutsk) is one of the most tranquil locations on the lake. Ferries run to the village three times a day from Irkutsk except for Mondays and select weekdays during the summer. Check the ferry schedule before planning your trip.
To get back on the road from Hotel Victoria, drive south on ul. Karla Marksa and take a right on ul. Lenina. Turn left on ul. Chkalova and bear right toward the Angarsky Bridge. On the other side of the bridge, get on the M-55 Federal Highway.
Outside Irkutsk the route number on the Trans-Siberian Highway changes to M-53, which will take you to the city of Krasnoyarsk (14 hours, 1,000 kilometers). The long drive to Krasnoyarsk consists of tall hills and farmland. Like the drive through the Russian Far East, you can park your car by the road and camp, although it’s best to ask for permission if you see a house nearby.
Siberia is a land of rivers, and the city of Bratsk (9 hours, 600 kilometers north of Irkutsk) is home to the Bratsk Dam , once the world’s largest hydroelectric power station.
The Bratsk Dam can be visited independently, but you’ll see far more with a tour. Contact Taiga Tours in Bratsk to arrange a visit to the Bratsk Dam.
During summer different varieties of wildflowers grow on the M-53. The flowers overtake entire fields that appear in the distance like purple or yellow lakes. Locals often pull over to pick wild berries and mushrooms, or appear in the meadows leading flocks of sheep to graze in the countryside. This is a great area to witness the pastoral life described in classic Russian novels; you’ll find that rural traditions are alive and well in the villages on the road to Krasnoyarsk.
Upon reaching Krasnoyarsk, you can drive south away from the Trans-Siberian Highway into the Tuva Republic, home to the Tuva people , practicing Buddhists who trace their ethnic and cultural roots to the Turkic and Mongolian peoples. Most famous for their throat singers , Tuva can be a fascinating, albeit long, side trip that is recommended if you have time.
