Wineglass Bay Tour
Wineglass Bay hides away in the Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s East Coast and is accessed via one of Australia’s greatest road trips, the Great Eastern Drive . Freycinet National Park is the first and oldest National Park in Tasmania (1916) and is home to dramatic pink granite mountains, secluded bays, crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and abundant native animals. Our Wineglass Bay tours departs from Hobart, heading east then following the Great Eastern Drive north. We’ll travel through the seaside towns of Orford, Triabunna and Swansea as we make our way along the East Coast of Tasmania towards the Freycinet National Park . We’ll stop briefly along the way to take in some of the local highlights including a coffee stop in the pictureque seaside town of Orford.
Our tour is carefully designed to help you maximise your enjoyment and minimise the time spent in large crowds of people, so we hike up to the Wineglass Bay Lookout nice and early. It is an uphill hike on well formed gravel paths and the return trip typically takes just over 90 minutes. At the top of the hill we can enjoy the breath taking views from the Wineglass Bay Lookout and capture the most iconic photo of Tasmania’s jewel. Be guided throughout the day by a truly local Tasmanian guide who is passionate and proud to share this special part of Tasmania with you.
Upon returning to our tour van we will take a short drive to Cape Tourville where we can explore the wild East Coast of Tasmania, taking in easterly views as far as the eye can see to the horizon. This is where we often see whales (seasonal), seals and an incredible array of seabirds. With your visual and audible senses hyper stimulated, the afternoon is spent stimulating your tastebuds. Enjoy a delicious restaurant lunch overlooking the Hazards Mountains in Coles Bay and sample some delicious wine from Tasmania’s East Coast Vineyards. We then leave Wineglass and focus on the wine glass as we visit a local vineyard and sample their premium wines.
After a full day of fun and exploration we jump aboard the bus again to make our way back to Hobart. The drive home is usually spent sharing our experiences and tales with each other and celebrating our amazing day out. We’ll drop you off at the Brooke St Pier at approximately 6pm.
NB. This tour is delivered by our sister company Drink Tasmania Premium Tours

What Our Customers Have To Say
Gino ist ein sehr engagierter u kompetenter Reiseführer und es war sehr interessant.
Fantastic trip with Geno and the other people aboard. 🙂 I had a really great time. I was travelling alone since the beginning of my holiday but this trip was really nice to share with others. A small group of really nice people. Greetings from Tahiti ! Angélique
Fantastic Day trip, outstanding scenery. Thanks to Phil our guide
Phil is a great guide. Very knowledgeable and the weather was perfect. A short, steep walk to the best view, bit worth the effort.
We had a fantastic day out! Phil, our guide, made sure that everyone had fun, was safe and just generally enjoyed the day. He even took us to a couple of spots which are not on the itinerary to show us some more of the beauty that is the Tasmanian nature. The Wineglass Bay area is stunning, the climb up to the lookout is well worth the view! We did the longer hike down (and up again) to the beach and certainly didn't regret it. Definitely recommend Wineglass Bay Tours , everything was well-organised and professional. Top marks for these guys!
We had an amazing time! Our tour guide, Jack, was very caring and friendly, which made the tour enjoyable. We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful trip. Thank you Jack!
Tour was sensational, with spectacular panoramic views. Our guide, Phil, was very informative and entertaining. A great day exploring some of Tasmania's pristine coastline. Highly recommended.
Le guide « Gino » est excellent et prevoyant
Amazing tour, great, informative guide. The scenery was beautiful. Good variety for food stop choices. Don't load up at lunch time, as the Walk up to Wineglass Bay lookout is UP all the way! Brushing up on local history was a plus.
The Wineglass Bay tour was great, I really enjoyed it. Jack, our guide and driver knew the area well and was very informative. The climb to the lookout was not too difficult even for an elderly person like me and the view once there is awesome. We also went to some other beaches but the whole area is very beautiful. Would recommend this tour.
Tour Guide Gino was polite and well unformed. Had a lovely day
Beautiful, the tour was really well structured and Jack a great guide, very knowledgeable and helpful, and a really nice guy
The guide was quite was professional and attentive.
It was a fantastic trip. The guide was amazing, informative, fun and caring.. it's a wonderful experience and especially the walk to Windglass bay look out was awesome. Thanks to Phil and Windglassbaytours.
Great way to spend our Boxing Day, learnt a lot from our guide Geno and saw plenty of sun sand and spectacular views. Excellent day out and enjoyed meeting the local wildlife (referring to the wallabies not Geno).
The best tour ever! Top in a "to-do" list in Hobart. I am not a big fan of bus tours normally because usually we need to rush to visit touristy places just for taking photos. But during this tour, we had plenty of time to relax on beaches & to chat with others over coffee/ lunch as well as to visit many amazing viewpoints (lots hidden places too!) With our friendly guide Geno, I felt like one of my friends was showing me around his favourite places in his hometown 🙂 Thank you for a wonderful time Geno!
Very nice day! We had a very nice day. Phill picked us up on time and 5 minutes away from our hostel. We were a small group which allowed us to have a nice experience overall. I was just a bit disapointed by the Marine Farm where we stopped for lunch: the price we pretty high considering the location and the fact that we were buying directly from the producer and the fish was not that well cooked. But the trip itself was well organized with plenty of stop to stretch your legs and have a look a beautiful beaches.
Great guide, beautiful place to visit, too little time in the parc unfortunately.
Wow what a great tour ! We're not usually fans of bus tours ( this was a minibus) but after this tour we are converted. Gino was a fantastic guide showing us many places we would have missed if we had have driven ourselves. His local knowledge of the history of the places we visited made the trip invaluable. Always considering the needs of his guests Gino was always offering the group choices of eating, trekking and photo opportunities. Best way to see Freycinet and surrounds in comfort ?
Excellent guide and great group of people. We had perfect weather and overall a great day trip. Pick-up and drop-off worked perfectly fine. The only negative aspect was the "comfort" of the bus for transfer. Space was pretty limited since all seats were occupied.
The day was really relaxed. Gino was very go with the flow. He had nice surprises that were highlights of the trip. The van was super clean and comfortable.
I had a lovely day visiting Wineglass Bay , Honey Moon Bay, eating fresh oysters from the farm, and so much more. Our guide Geno shared his knowledge and positivity with us. Couldn't recommend it more!
Geno the guide was sensational, great tour in a small group, beautiful spots on thed trip.
What an amazing day we've had!.. were able to choose our own lunch..oysters and wine or a beautiful sandwich..in the afternoon Geno took us on our own private tour to the lighthouse and honeymoon bay! It could not have been a better day! Thank you!
This was one of the best experiences I could have had and it all started with our tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny and kept us well informed throughout the day. The secret spots he took us to before going to the wineglass bay lookout walk were spectacular and a welcome surprise. He also had and provided us with fresh water so we can top off our bottles throughout the trip. As I enjoy longer walks / hike, our guide showed me specific secondary much longer walk which I very much appreciated and took him up on and I’m glad I did. I got to see two separate beaches and had an awesome long loop walk back to the car port.
Smal group, lovely guide Phil - thumps up from her
Geno was so helpful and went out of his way to accomodate my need for transport to and from the Freycinet Loop which I completed over 3 days! I really wanted to do the 3 day Freycinet Loop, but there is very limited public transport. Geno kindly allowed me to do the tour, with the return leg 3 days later and even dropped me off at the airport on the way back!!!
Highly recommend! Phil was a fantastic guide and made the journey from Hobart to Wineglass fun and entertaining! Great as we were in a small group and avoided the crowds as much as possible. Wineglass Bay and Coles Bay are both so beautiful - thank you for a great day trip!
Had an amazing tour with them! The guide(Lily) was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip.
I would highly recommend the tour company and this tour to wineglass bay. Phil was a great tour guide, he kept it light hearted, always a smile on his face. He changed the tour to accommodate the poor weather and ultimately we had a great time despite the morning rain. It was also really good to have different options for food and walk lengths to suit everyone's needs. Hope future tour goers have a great time!
Had a great day with information and hiking ! What a fantastic day !
Perfect planning! Nice guide and very clean bus
Absolutely LOVED this tour, highly recommend if you ever make your way here. Maybe you'll even get lucky and have Geno as your guide. He's hilarious and you can truly see his love for Tasmania! Thanks again for a great day 🙂
Phil our tour guide was absolutely brilliant! Very knowledgeable and friendly. 10 out of 10
Excellent guide/owner!! Knowledgeable, friendly, very good driver, knew all the best views and out of the way places to visit.
Nice view from the Top. Need a bit exercise but worth it.
Well organised tour by Wine glass bay tours. Phil our tour guide was excellent and friendly and very knowledgeable!
Jack was the spirit of the tour. Thank you for this great experience.
Geno is a great guide
The tour was great, I got picked up and dropped off at my accommodation and there was a documentary at the start of the trip and wi-fi back. My tour guide Phil was knowledgeable, fun and friendly.
Geno is the owner of this outfit, and ran a wonderful full day tour from Hobart. We were shown a video about Tasmania wildlife on the way to the park, and stopped at a lovely beach most don't get to visit. Geno gave helpful explanations about the park, some history, the wildlife, etc. and was extremely hospitable and accommodating. Amazing views, beaches, scenic walks -- and we got to pet a friendly wallaby. Such a great way to spend a day in beautiful Tasmania. Highly recommend Wineglass Bay Tours!
we were super happy with this tour!! Got to see a lot of Freycinet NP and the drive there was also worth while!
The pickup was easy, tour guide was phenomenal, and we got to see some really incredible stuff. The tour didn’t feel rushed at all, which is always something I fear when going on day tours. Overall it was just awesome.
Small group was great, and tour guide (Phil) was well informed and made it fun. Everything ran really smoothly and Phil was considerate of the needs of everyone on the tour. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in Wineglass Bay and surrounds.
Very good day tour from Hobart. Professional and focussed guide Phil gave us a day to remember. Had a great group and so glad I took this tour which saved a challenging drive. We saw Friendly Beaches and Honeymoon Bay which were highlights for me. Thanks a million!
Fantastic tour !!
Phil was a great guide. He’s very detail in his explanation and very understanding. Parents were very impressed with his attention provided. Would truly recommend this tour especially with Phil leading the group.
Most enjoyable day
Awesome tour guides, very funny and useful trio, thing must do in Tassie. Tam, the one who was picked up late because another Tam but I'll consider it's as a fun memory.
Lovely I highly appreciate the way the tour company arranged and managed the booking. I received a confirmation e-mail directly and they responded to my inquiry promptly. Jack, our guide, was very helpful and knowledgable. Very fun too! Five stars for the tour.
Thank you very much Wineglass Bay Tours for the best experience I had in Hobart on June 22nd. I'm really sorry for the late post. Thank you, Jack, for being so friendly and very knowledgeable, explained everything on the way in detail and also helping me throughout the hike! ? Thank you very much Geno for arranging the trip just for myself and not cancelling the trip at all for less crowd in winter. I was really surprised and I have no words to thank you enough! ? Highly recommend Wineglass Bay tours for your next trip in Hobart! ?? Looking forward for many more trips with you! ???
Well organised, fantastic tour guide. Amazing experience
Great tour, lots of stops and opportunities to buy food, flexible walk options, great landscape
Our guide was great, everything ran on time planned well.
A very enjoyable day - Gino kept us entertained with the history and stories about the places we visited. at all times he was professional but also fun and caring - happy to listen to each person and answer any questions. He ensured that everyone was having the best experience they could have on the tour. Loved all the beautiful beaches. Thankfully the weather held up. Take this tour and have a great experience. Thank you Gino.
The bus arrived at 7.15 sharp, perfectly on time. Although we were just two people the trip was not canceled and I extremely appreciated since I already had past experiences of last-second cancellations. Our tour guide was Phil, who turned out to be probably the best guide I've ever had for any tour. We started our trip with a super interesting introductory video about Tasmanian wildlife. We did some stops on the way for pictures and refreshments before reaching the wineglass bay where we did a little hike to reach the lookout. Throughout the hike and the journey Phil have us an incredible amount of super interesting information, always kindly and thoroughly replying to all the questions I was asking. He was simply amazing for the entire trip. Absolutely recommended!!!!!!!
Amazing trip! Geno is a really good guide, knows a lot of interesting facts and showed us some hidden gems away from crowds. The hike to wineglass bay lookout was spectacular. Really recommend this tour to anyone wanting a small group, personalised tour.
Best day trip in Tasmania - amazing views and Geno our guide was a delight 🙂
Excelent tour with spectacular landscapes. Phil was THE perfect guide!! He showed us the best of the East Coast + shared all his knowledge about these Tassie lands and its history. We had enough time in each place, with no rush and much flexibility. Highly recomended tour!! I had a great time!! Thanks Phil!!!
Gutes und abwechslungsreiches Programm. Kompetenter und hilfsbereiter Guide. Tour relativ lang, aber es läuft immer etwas.
Our guide, Geno, was amazing! The tour is filled with great scenery and Geno is very knowledgeable about the history and culture, but is full of handy tips and very caring! He is very passionate about what he does and it shows, but also makes for a fantastic experience!
What a fabulous tour! Highly recommend this tour company and Phil our tour guide was funny informative and engaging..(he’s an asset). A magnificent part of Australia. Thanks for a memorable day out. Customer service was excellent.?
It was good, not able to to do the walk to see the wineglass bay because the weather was not good but we still enjoyed it.
Excellent tour by Phil our guide, he is very hospitable and knowledgeable. Everything is perfect - beautiful landscape, great weather and delicious snacks and lunch places. Glad we chose this tour and will highly recommend it.
It was just great. We got a lovely view at Wineglass Bay, Honeymoon Bay, Coles Bay and Cape Tourville. I just wanted to stay forever. Our guide Geno told us a lot of facts about Freycinet Nationalpark and the wildlife. I’m really happy I went to Wineglass Bay with Wineglass Bay Day tours! I hardly recommend them.
I really love it ?????? I reccomend it
Most picturesque tour of my life! The Wineglass Bay tour is one of the most picturesque tours that I have done in my life. The tour group was small enough for the participants to enjoy the whole experience. And, Dan was a great guide!
We had a fantastic day yesterday with Geno as our tour guide. The tour itself was awesome, spectacular views and amazing stopovers. Happy, fun and friendly all the way. Highly recommend a day with Geno and Wineglass Bay tours. Thankyou for making our visit to Wineglass Bay very memorable. Will recommend the tour to our friends. Cheers Franca and Lee From Melbourne ??
Phil was a very good guide, lots of interesting Tasmanian history and information in an engaging style. Good rapport with guests and personal touches to meet individual needs.
Jono (I hope I've spelt his name right!) was a wonderful guide who was really knowledgeable and funny and he made sure everyone got involved and no one was left behind. The views we were taken to were spectacular and the transportation to get there was new and comfortable. There was plenty of options for lunch and the wine tasting at the end rounded off the day perfectly. thanks again!! ?
A fantastic tour with many surprises along the way This tour was incredible and it was definitely our favourite day that we spent in Tasmania. It was informative and fun allowing us to see fantastic places on the east coast of Tasmania. I would highly recommend!
A full day with variety of sights and experiences. Guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Great value for money.
An in-depth delightful tour The tour guide is a friendly nature lover, his attitude and behavior make us appreciate the nature. Also his knowledge of Tasmania allow us to understand the place. We appreciate his hospitality.
This tour was fantastic! The weather was great and Phil, our tour guide was awesome. It was indeed a good decision to go for an organized tour than driving around Freycinet ourselves. Phil made a few surprise stops so we could meet and feed the cute pademelons and discover Friendly Beaches, his favorite beach in Freycinet. Overall, the trip was well-organized. Despite being a very long drive from Hobart, our guide’s commentary about Tassie & Freycinet’s gems made the entire experience fun and insightful. Phil even gave us a fun quiz to culminate our trip. If you’re visiting Tasmania, I highly recommend this company and Phil as a tour guide.
Great trip to Freycinet National Park plus a walk to the Wineglass Bay lookout with the chance to continue until the beach (it's worth it!)
Excellent tour, great view from the lookout and good walk on a beautiful beach. The guide Geno was friendly and knowledgeable. Even if the weather was not the best it was a wonderful day.
Excellent tour itinerary ... loved how everything was explained in detail and the knowledge the tour guide Phil had .... and the flexibility of the tour ... it’s also a plus point the fact that sunscreen was available with Phil, enjoyed the fun Q and A sessions we had ... all in all it was indeed one of the best ...
Tour was amazing and Geno was a fantastic tour guide. Wineglass Bay was spectacular. Highly recommended
Jack was a brilliant tour guide. Knowledgeable, friendly and full of great stories. Not a boring moment on a beautiful trip.
Our tour guide, Phil, was absolutely amazing ! Very informative and easy going. I enjoyed the tour and beautiful Tasmania! Many thanks
A great tour! Beautiful sights and a very informative guide. I was especially lucky to have Geno as my guide. It is a long day but with lots of stops for sights and refreshments it is a great day.
A great tour and Jack our tour guide was most imformative. The view from the look out was spectacular.
We started early in the morning, but the trip was good. And Jack our driver was a reale good guide and make it reale interesting.
We enjoyed the tour so much! Our tour guide Phil is a thoughtful and humours man, he took care of us and showed us around with professional attitude. Best experience ever!
Thank you Geno for today Great Trip Your New Friends from Poland???
Our tour guide Jack was amazing!!! The tour was well organised and Jack was really knowledgeable about the area and shared convict stories. It was really nice of him to stop at a general store to buy ponchos as it was raining. Moreover, he would always walk with us to the spot and tell us more about it and take photos for us,,, Overall we had a great tour with him!!!!
Up there as one of my favourite days in Australia I absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park! Thank you Geno for a great day
check weather and go. we paid more than 400 dollars for two of us and because the weather wasn't good we didn't get to see wineglass bay and didn't do hike. instead went and saw below average beaches and Bays and unwanted wine tasting.
Really good day out. Phil was a very pleasant and informative guide.
This is an absolute must when in Tasmania!! Our guide Phil was AMAZING!!! Knowledgeable, accomodating, and a whole lotta fun. We went to little hidden gems that blew us away. Each one more breathtaking than the last. If you want a great taste of sights and history, and FUN... go buy your tickets now... This is a fantastic experience!!
All is ok 😉
Unforgettable Absolutely loved it. The guide is super energetic and friendly, a real encyclopaedia on Tasmanian history and current events. The journey is incredible, the views are a nature-lovers paradise, the beaches have such beautiful white sand and the fun I had made my face hurt from smiling. I booked this for my birthday and I am sure I could not have found a better way to spend my day.
Great tour particularly if you're short in time in Tasmania! Lily was great, informative and friendly.. Wineglass was beautiful and we were lucky with the weather ?
A fantastic day tour to Wineglass Bay, so much easier on tour than trying to do it by yourself! Phil was a great guide, the weather was good and the swim at Honeymoon Bay was most welcome after the climb up to view Wineglass Bay! Highly recommend this tour, well worth the money.
Had a great day, except I didn't make it to the top of Wine Glass bay. There are steps and its quite steep. But enjoyed the rest of the day. Even saw a couple of whales at the lighthouse. Geno and Lilly where full of info.
Geno has been one the best tourist guides I’ve ever had. He not only knows a lot about the place and history but also is such a great person. We all had a lovely day thanks to him. The locations and scenery are spectacular but this guy made everything even better.
I had the best time with Wineglass Bay Tours. Right after I have booked my reservation online I got a message from them confirming my pick up. The tour guide was the best. They are very professional,, organized and ponctual.
One of the best small group tours from Hobart. Geno, the owner, was extremely helpful and the guide of the day, Lily was very knowledgeable. Had a great day out and price was very reasonable.
This is an excellent trip Great trip with a wonderful guide Jack. The scenery is amazing. It is a long day but well worth it. Jack was very friendly and made sure everyone was taken care of. He even picked us up at our door.
Gino is very knowledgeable about wildlife and all things Tasmania. Punctual, friendly and knowledgeable, if you are going to do this trip do it with these guys. Highly recommended.
Geno was the perfect guide - going out of his way to pick us up and personalize the tour There are two walks offered - the choice is yours and we found this empowering An excellent day
Smart and nice guide. Beautiful view. Very enjoyable
If you're going to see Wineglass Bay this is the only company to book with. Geno and his crew worked tirelessly to make sure everybody had a wonderful experience from the time he picked you up early in the morning until you were safely returned. Wineglass Bay Tours went out there way to ensure your comfort and they were knowledgeable about the sites along the way. Geno, our courteous driver/guide made our trip a most memorable one!
Had the most wonderful day..Gino was such an amazing tour guide... I would recommend this tour to everyone....
Great day out very well organised. Geno was a fantastic guy and guide. The tour was very well organised from pick up to drop off. The beaches were beautiful. Would definitely recommend the trip and the company
This tour is jam packed with adventure and fun. Our driver and tour guide Gino was friendly and knowledgeable. It's highly recommended especially if you want a smaller intimate tour with lots of extras.
Fantastic trip with Geno and the other people aboard. 🙂 I had a really great time. I was travelling alone since the beginning of my holiday but this trip was really nice to share with others. Geno don't forget about Raymond and Tourville the sub 😉 Greetings from Tahiti ! Angélique
Thank you so much Geno for that awesome day!!! We saw unexpected, beautiful places and the whole trip to the Wineglass Bay was remarkable. He is very skilled and gave a lot of information with always a smile on his face. We got picked up in time and the day was well organized! He took care for everyone and it was nice having him as a guide. Everything we saw was just so beautiful... Highly recommended tour!
Look forward to joining your tour again!!
Lovely scenery and our guide Gino was excellent. Tasty pizzas for lunch with a great view. The wine tasting on the way home was a bonus!
Phil was a great guide! He made sure everyone was comfortable and had a knack for reading the group. Lots of schedule flexibility, a quality video about native wildlife, nice tunes and ample time for snacks and leg stretching breaks.
Absolutely amazing tour! The guide was great with everyone and he was so knowledgeable about Tasmanian history, culture, wildlife and the ecosystem. There are different routes available for those with different walking abilities- I did the longer walk down to the bay itself and loved it but the others that did the shorter walk said their day was great too! Best tour I have ever been on hands down, can't recommend this enough!!!
Hi gino thanks for being our guide we were amazed by your hard work at each destination we went too. We will return...
My parents recently took this tour and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Although they speak little English their guide made sure they were OK throughout the day and attended to their every need. Great service and wonderful tour. Highly Recommended!
Geno was wonderful. He was so pleasant and courteous. He is a great driver and made sure that everyone felt welcome on the tour. The trip was well timed and I was totally happy with the way the day unfolded. I couldn't recommend more. An excellent experience all around.
Phil our tour guide was very responsible and jolly person. The tour was was full of fun. Though it was cold and windy, the excitement was well maintained. The group was very diverse and good. Enjoyed every bit of it. Highly recommended.
Great time management, friendly guides and very organized!!
If you are going to Tasmania, this is a MUST DO tour. Geno is an awesome guide and the itinerary is absolutely perfect.
What a great tour! Our guide Jack was a pleasure and really knowledgeable and friendly. The tour is excellent value for money, we saw a range of stunning locations in Tassie and Wineglass bay was even more beautiful than the photos I'd seen! I enjoyed the commentary on our journey down to wineglass bay and the cute stop to see the Pademelons. The food at the Freycinet marine farm is really good too - definitely get the mussels if you enjoy seafood! All in all a great day, definitely do this tour if you're in Hobart you will love it! 🙂
