Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets at a discount. If you’ve planned a trip to Walt Disney World , Universal Studios, or SeaWorld, you’ve probably come across Undercover Tourist. But did you also know you can use this website to book hotels and rental cars, too?

In this post, we’ll go over what you need to know to use Undercover Tourist to find the best prices on amusement park tickets, hotels, and rental cars. Plus, we’ll go over some of the popular features of the site like the Crowd Calendar.

Undercover Tourist is a website that that’s been around since 2000 and is known for offering discounted tickets to theme parks across the U.S. The site is an authorized seller of tickets for all the major theme parks you know and love:

  • Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
  • Disneyland in California
  • Universal Orlando Resort
  • Universal Studios Hollywood
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • SeaWorld San Diego
  • LEGOLAND Florida Resort
  • LEGOLAND California Resort

Undercover Tourist also has discounted tickets to non-theme park attractions like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, ski resorts, zoos, movie theaters, and lots more! Plus, it acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals.

While Undercover Tourist offers a ton of ticket, hotel, and car options, the site is limited in the number of destinations it covers. You’ll only find options in the following cities:

  • Breckenridge, CO
  • Chicago, IL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • New York City, NY
  • Orlando, FL
  • Park City, Utah
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Washington, D.C.

Options in Seattle, London, and Paris are coming soon.

Bottom Line: Undercover Tourist is a resource for discounted tickets to theme parks and other attractions in select cities across the U.S. It’s best known for offering discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks.  The site also acts as an online travel agency for hotel reservations and car rentals in these select cities.

Discount Tickets

Let’s review the steps to using Undercover Tourist to purchase discounted tickets.

You can start your search for discounted tickets from many different places on the home page. Click on Discount Tickets in the top menu bar, click on a logo underneath the menu bar, or click on any of the featured tickets in the middle of your screen to start your search.

Finding discounted tickets on Undercover Tourist

After choosing your destination, you’ll be able to see lots of information about your chosen theme park, including maps, hotels, tips, and more. Scroll down a bit to find the availability calendar and ticket options.

Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist

The tickets you buy through Undercover Tourist are exactly the same as if you purchased them directly from the park, except you’ll probably save some money.

After choosing the type and number of tickets you need, you’ll be able to see your final price and choose your travel dates. The price you see is what you’ll pay — taxes are included and shipping is free!

Price of tickets on Undercover Tourist

Hot Tip: Are you on a tight budget? Check out our full guide to using visiting Disney World for cheap using points and miles.

You may be inclined to have your tickets emailed to you, but there are some risks. E-tickets are non-refundable, and you’ll need to stop at Will Call at the gate to pick up your physical tickets. For Disney tickets, if you have a MagicBand, you can add the e-tickets to your account and proceed directly to the gate, but they’ll still be non-refundable.

Instead, it may be a better idea to have the physical tickets mailed to you. This option is also free and the tickets will be eligible for a refund. Plus, you’ll be able to go straight to the gate at the park which can be a huge timesaver.

Paper vs emailed tickets from Undercover Tourist

Many tickets sold on Undercover Tourist are refundable within 90 days of purchase. To get a refundable ticket, you’ll need to have tickets mailed to you vs. opting for email delivery. Refundable tickets will be clearly marked. Be sure to confirm the return policy for your specific tickets before completing your purchase.

If you need to return tickets that you purchased, you’ll be charged a 5% fee to cover the return.

Hot Tip: E-tickets are non-refundable. To get a ticket that is eligible for a refund, you’ll need to select the Mailed To Your Door  option.

Before finalizing your purchase, you’ll be prompted to add travel insurance. Before choosing whether or not to add insurance to your purchase, you’ll want to learn about all of your options.

Undercover Tourist offers insurance through Allianz Global Assistance , a popular travel insurance company. However, the policy offered by Undercover Tourist covers lots of areas that may already be covered through your credit card including trip cancellation and interruption , lost or delayed baggage, and travel accident insurance, so it may not be needed.

If you purchase tickets that are eligible for a refund, insurance is probably not necessary. If you’re also booking a hotel or rental car, take a minute to determine if you have a credit card with rental car insurance  before purchasing a separate policy.

The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a popular feature on the site that helps you identify the least and most crowded times to visit a specific park.

To access the Crowd Calendar, just click on Crowd Calendar in the top menu bar of the website.

How to find the Crowd Calendar on Undercover Tourist

You’ll be able to look at specifics for a handful of the most popular destinations:

  • Discovery Cove
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • Universal’s Islands of Adventure
  • Universal Studios Florida
  • Universal’s Volcano Bay

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

Hot Tip: The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a color-coded chart that helps you predict which parks will be more or less crowded on a specific day.

Undercover Tourist mobile app

If you’re headed to Orlando, be sure to download the Undercover Tourist Orlando Planning App, free for iOS . This handy app will take the stress out of trying to navigate the parks on your own with features like an interactive map, up-to-date park information, park plans, and estimated wait times.

The app covers Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise are not price guarantees, rather they’re guarantees of quality and customer service.

The Frog Guarantee

When purchasing amusement park tickets through Undercover Tourist you’ll always receive:

  • Authentic tickets from an authorized seller
  • Free standard shipping
  • No hidden fees
  • 90-day refund/return policy (not applicable to e-tickets)
  • RFID enabled and Genie+ eligible Disney tickets
  • Next-day pickup or delivery availability

So, let’s answer the question you really want to know, “Can Undercover Tourist save me money?”

To do this, we priced out some ticket options for 1 adult on Undercover Tourist and compared those to what we could get directly from the park’s website.

In every single example we priced out, Undercover Tourist was the cheapest option! If you’re looking for discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and other popular theme parks, you’ll probably save money by using Undercover Tourist.

Hot Tip: You can NOT use Disney gift cards to pay for tickets through Undercover Tourist. So, if you’ve been collecting gift cards from stores with high points bonuses (like grocery stores ), you’ll need to purchase your tickets directly through the park.

Purchasing tickets to an amusement park can be expensive. So, of course, you’ll want to make sure you’re earning as many points as possible on your purchase.

Amusement park tickets usually code as “entertainment,” so if you’re purchasing them directly, you’ll want to use a credit card that offers bonus categories on entertainment purchases . The Citi Premier ® Card earns 2 points per dollar spent on entertainment purchases, including tickets to amusement parks.

However, purchases from Undercover Tourist code as “travel” which opens up the door to earn points on a variety of different credit cards. These credit cards all earn bonus points on the travel category, which will include amusement park tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist.

Earn 3x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Ink Business Preferred ® Credit Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve ® card
  • Citi Premier card

Earn 2x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred ® card
  • Capital One ® Venture ® Rewards card

Hot Tip: If you have an American Express card, check to see if Amex Offers has any current money-back offers from Undercover Tourist.

While Undercover Tourist is known as the place to buy theme park tickets, the site also acts as an online travel agency for booking hotels.

To get started, click on Hotels in the top menu bar. Then select your destination from the drop-down box and enter the number of travelers and your travel dates.

Your search results will be displayed in a format similar to other hotel booking websites that you may be familiar with (like Expedia , Priceline , Hotels.com , etc). Filtering options will be available on the left side of your screen and sorting options are located on the upper right-hand side, above the results.

Undercover Tourist Hotels filtering and sorting

Unlike with tickets on Undercover Tourist, the prices you see initially don’t include tax. You’ll have to click through to the payment page to see the full price with taxes and fees included.

Cancellation policies will vary by the hotel but will be clearly displayed once you add an item to your cart.

Undercover Tourist Hotel cancellation policy

Hot Tip: If you’re traveling to Florida to enjoy the theme parks, check out these places to stay in Orlando for your Disney vacation!

Let’s take a look at a couple of examples to see if booking a hotel through Undercover Tourist can save you money. For both of these examples, we priced out a week-long stay for 2 adults and 1 child. Prices include taxes and fees and are for the hotel stay only (tickets are not included).

The results are typical of most price comparisons we do — they aren’t consistent! Undercover Tourist had the best price for the first option, but Trivago came out with the best price in the second example. The bottom line is that you can definitely save money by using Undercover Tourist for your hotel stay, but not always.

The car rental search functionality on the Undercover Tourist website is pretty limited. You’ll only be able to search for car rentals at Orlando International Airport (MCO) from only 5 car rental companies — Alamo, Avis , Budget , Enterprise , and National .

Undercover Tourist Car Rental

We did a couple of searches to find out if booking your Orlando car rental through Undercover Tourist could save you money. We searched for the cheapest price for a week-long rental on 2 different dates.

In both of these examples, Undercover Tourist came out as the second most expensive option. Interestingly, Momondo  had the lowest price and Priceline had the highest price in both examples.

Undercover Tourist may be a great place to purchase theme park tickets, but it’s not a great option when you’re searching for a rental car.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets on the cheap. It also acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals, but only in select cities.

It’s a great site to use to save some money on theme park tickets, but the savings on hotels and cars aren’t as consistent.

Before you head to Disney, check out some of our helpful guides including re-opening plans , packing lists , and even how to visit virtually .

The information regarding the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer.

No reply from customer service, but cancellation

Booked Disney tickets on Friday, all went well. No issues during the booking process. Monday, in the middle of the night, I‘ve got a call (which I did not answer - middle of the night!) and an email saying that they have a problem with our credit card and they immediately want to speak to the cardholder. I emailed them back that they should email me the details and that I will happily discuss all issues via email. I wrote that it is, in my opinion, very unusual to discuss alleged problems with a credit card payment on the phone without any details. Until now (Tuesday) I have received no answer but the cancellation of my order. As stated by other users - very poor customer service. We will never book with them again.

Do not buy anything from Undercovertourist.com

Customer service convinces you that they will help you and they tell you want you want to hear. They advertise tickets for a city and when I received them they were for another city. I have been dealing with them for 4 days and they still cant refund my 200.00. That it was there mistake. They sold me the wrong tickets. I am yet to get the refund.Lots of waiting, then they say they are talking to a "colleagues ' then they say we will email you. lots of script talking.

Got our tickets for Universal Hollywood cheaper than the original site and the service was friendly and accommodating when we had a change of plans. Will update if something goes awry but otherwise its what we were expecting and more.

Awful. After purchasing $3000.00 worth of Disney tickets, they wanted me to verify a small amount they put on my credit card. I tried 20 times and something is wrong with their website. I tried to use their "contact us" page and it also doesn't work. This is incredibly frustrating as we all got together to book our whole trip and now we are in limbo and can't get ahold of anyone about our tickets. I now have to find time in my work day to call this place and reschedule everything with our whole family. My time is wroth something and they have completely wasted my time. Would NOT recommend.

Great service for buying Disney tickets!

Was a really good experience. I bought Disney tickets with them and it was flawless - tickets arrived quickly and linked with Disney successfully on their website! Great service!

Checkout is a mess

Their payment verification System is ridiculous. Do not waste your time. And Customer Services make you feel like they don't understand your questions. Paypal doesn't work either.

Great service

One of the few sites I could buy daily passes for Disney. Tickets emailed within a day and physical tickets arrived from Florida in less than a week. Highly recommend.

UT is a rip off - charging HIGHER rates than Dinsey site

Tickets on Disney's sight + tax are far LESS than what Undercover Tourist is offering for 1 or 2 day regular or Park Hopper.

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. Great while selling tickets but as soon as they have your money, trying to get anything resolved or sorted is not a good experience at all.

these guys charge a small fee (that is refunded later) that you have to confirm via text to make sure you a real person. if you can access your bank or credit card via your phone it's very easy, and then you just text back to the auto text they sent you and then your tickets are emailed you. this all happened in minutes. not a big deal if you can follow their steps. saved about $30 from the online knotts tickets i bought.

Crap company. I read the fine print, everything checked out. Arrived at the movie theater with printed tickets only to be told vouchers aren’t scanning and they can’t be honored. Simple. Never buying from them again. Hopefully ccc will refund me.

BAD experience

BAD experience they never sent my tickets! When I contacted them, they said I would have to wait and for an email/call/text for a security check I said when would that come, they said that they dont know! I cancelled my order and got tickets STRAIGHT from aquatica for $15 cheaper!!! don't buy from them not worth it!

Dont recommend booking with them

Dont recommend booking with them. I booked a ticket for Universal Horror nights. They needed 3 days to verify my Order. So when they finally placed the Order, tickets were already sold out. Wish i would have booked directly and not with them.

Undercover tourist Black Friday BOGO offer scam

Undercover tourist had a BOGO offer for Black Friday on the Sea World San Diego tickets. There were no clear instructions on how the offer would work so I booked 4 tickets and was hoping to get charged for only 2 or get 4 additional tickets but no. They charged me for all the tickets. After a couple follow ups with their customer service, one rep agreed that it was a mistake and she would consult with the accounts team for the credit and get back to me. Obviously that never happened so I called up again, described the situation and this time I was told that the ticket price was double of what I was charged when I booked so I was benefitted & there was nothing more then can do. As we all know Sea World ticket prices fluctuate based on the dates you choose to visit not when you book the ticket. The dates when we wanted to visit the ticket prices on Sea World's website was exactly what I had paid. I was scammed by Undercover tourist and I will never ever recommend this website or at least ensure what your paying and compare outside before you book.

Not worth the hassle

I went to Undercover Tourist to save a few $ on my Mickeys not so Scary Halloween Tickets. Unfortunatley they dont tell you about the "verification" process up front. I'm visiting from the UK and after taking my order online I got an email saying was blocked until someone could call me the next day to verify who I was. Well when you are visiting the theme parks you dont want to have to be listening for your phone all day. I tried to contact them via online chat but they refused to help saying I had to wait for the verification department to call. Next day they called me around 5pm but I missed the call as I was at Disney. I tried calling them back but got a message to say they were closed. When I got back to my villa I registered for Skype so I could call them back the next morning. The line said they were busy and cut me off. Eventually I go through and the guy was insisting that I had to wait for them to call me back. I managed to persuade him to put me through to someone who could help and finally it was sorted. Was it worth all this hassle to save a few $ a ticket? I dont think so. Surely they can do some verification process online if they require it? As tourists we dont always have mobiles that are free to use in the USA....

Their 365 day money back guarantee is a scam. They will try to send you to Disney to fix the issue bc they know Disney will at least give a free ticket if you can't go due to illness. Undercover Tourist doesn't want to spend the money to honor their commitments. I can't tell you how any people they transferred us to. I will make sure everyone I know and others never make this mistake.

Tickets not received - no customer service

It has now been a week since order confirmation. Still no sign of tickets. Have left 4 messages and 2 e-mails. Received 1 call back promising to resolve. That was now 4 days ago. Still not resolved, still no tickets. Really bad customer service. Now trying to cancel my order. Will probably take 2 weeks. Stay away and order through Disney themselves instead

We have bought tickets from them multiple times over the years. We have never had one issue with them. We even cancelled tickets once and got a refund almost immediately. We have never had an issue with being able to use our tickets at any of the parks. We will definitely continue to use them.

Undercover Tourist not much use if you live in the UK

Tried to book tickets for discovery cove online but it only offers the prices for florida residents. Not much good if you are based in the UK. Only went to the site because it had some decent reviews but will go elsewhere

Amazing customer service

I can not recommend undercover tourist enough. The customer service has been amazing and they were so helpful when we had to cancel our tickets after having to cancel our trip for the 2nd time this year. I bought the tickets a year ago and they still refunded the money due to our circumstances changing, meaning we couldn’t rebook again for next year. I will always use undercover tourist in the future for any theme park tickets that we need.

Movie/Theater Tickets—-

Movie/Theater Tickets—- DO NOT PURCHASE through this platform for Cinemark or any other theater with reserve seating. You have to input each barcode and pin separately for each and every person. I would think that one code would satisfy the entire family/group but NO. In addition, you will end up paying the same amount due to redeeming tickets online with merchant (Cinemark). You will then be required to pay additional costs to select seats online. This is a scam and deceptive practice. If you don’t reserve online you won’t have a seat upon arrival. Just buy directly through merchants and not this platform. They will not refund you the money. Poor customer service and unprofessional staff. First time customer, very dissatisfied and terrible experience.

I made a mistake in our hotel dates

I made a mistake in our hotel dates - needed to add a day - which I realized immediately and contacted them. They said they have to cancel the reservation. I’d make a new one, but not until I’m sure I’m getting my refund for the first one … I gave them 2 because the customer service is slow.

Other than the website being a little slow, it was a very good experience. I got a “Gateway error” message but then also got the e-tickets in email at the same time, so I called and spoke to verify I didn’t get duped and everything was in order. I spoke to Elaine was very lovely and super helpful! I will write a review once we use the tickets too. Thank you!

Never Again

This site is great to use for savings. However, that is if everything goes right. When Disney was closed last year due to a hurricane, it was a nightmare. Disney will not refund you since tickets were purchased through this site. Only Undercover Tourist can refund you the money. Well, they kept telling us Disney had to issue the refund. They knowingly lied. Yes, we did eventually get our money back but it took months. And only after a dozen emails and phone calls. I will never purchase Disney tickets from anyone but Disney after that mess.

Date of experience : 01 October 2022

Poor and unexpected online purchasing process

Undercover tourist cancelled our tickets on a sunday afternoon because we hadn't 'verified' (who in the year 2021 needs verification for an online purchase of $300???) they sent a single email the day before, and did not answer calls that I made frantically 10 minutes before they were supposed to close, but i guess even their employees aren't paying attention to things on the weekend, because they had knocked off early and never answered. When they returned my message, it was too late and i would have to go back and start the whole process over again. Not worth the $10 in savings.

Scam! We purchased tickets for Daytona lagoon…

We purchased tickets for Daytona lagoon to get there and be told that half of the park was closed and that tickets were extremely cheaper (close to half) the price we were charged through undercover tourist. Upon contacting company about a partial refund we were told there was nothing they could do and to contact Daytona lagoon. Upon contacting Daytona lagoon we were told that since the tickets were purchased through undercover tourist that we would need to contact them. Scam and very unprofessional!!!

beware credit card fee

So far ok. Bought universal and Disney tickets. They responded to my query very quickly. However!!!! I bought using a UK credit cards and was charged a huge transaction fee- this offset the savings on the tickets . For that reason - not worth it for me

I came to write another negative review about their ‘verification policy’ but see many beat me to it. DO NOT SHOP using undercover tourist. They are a scam and a huge waste of time. They won’t honour the price they quote you and it’ll end up costing you more plus a huge headache. Never again.

Waste of time!!!

They fail to tell you about a verification process. This is the headline in their email “ Due to recent events in the news, we are taking extra precautions to protect our customers from fraud.” What recent events? The pandemic, war in Ukraine? Ive entered the exact amounts as shown on my card statement, both in £ and $, none are accepted. Now I need to contact support. What a waste of time. I’ll pay the extra $4 and buy the tickets direct. Don’t waste your time.

Like others, under $3.00 game

Like others, I purchased tix, waited, next day got the text to check you cc acct for a small charge and text that amt back to them. I check 5x in 24 hrs w/ no pending transaction. I even called my cc company and they saw nothing. My cc company said they have never heard of this before for any legit purchase. I was actually made contact w/ a rep from Undercovertourist via email with in 15 mins. I cancelled! What year is it? I have purchased thousands of things online from probably 100 merchants and never had this issue. I will be monitoring my cc acct closely in the near future. Something smells!!!!

Just not worth the hassle for the menial savings made. Book Disney tickets direct and don’t go through these jokers. Don’t think you’ve successfully made a purchase... you haven’t. You’ll have to wait for email after email asking you to jump through hoop after hoop - they even get you to call your bank to verify a a random pending transaction amount which they randomly pick and get you to translate that into dollars and then, if your conversion rate isn’t the same as yours they won’t accept your purchase. Yes - it is as crazy and confusing as it sounds. Bloody bonkers in this day and age.

Decent savings, terrible customer service experience

The site was easy to use and the savings were great. But the customer service was terrible. We had tickets to Universal Studios and had to switch the day because of Hurricane Hilary. I spoke to Universal, and all they needed Undercover Tourist to do was call them and authorize the date change. Twice, I called Undercover Tourist to explain what had to happen. Twice, the agents repeated the necessary steps back to me, and then somehow put the call through to Univeral Studios and connected me directly instead of taking the necessary steps to authorize the transfer. Luckily, a rep at Universal Studios understood our situation and made an exception for us to change our ticket. I would never book through this site again, based on that experience. Had the Universal Rep not helped us out, we would have lost $750. The savings simply aren't worth it to me.

I bought the regular sized drink and popcorn voucher for AMC. Upon applying the vouchers towards the upgrade to Large had me realize I actually spent $9+ more than had I not bothered. It does save you approximately $2 to buy the voucher specifically towards regular but don't bother with the upgrade.

Bought universal tickets for Hollywood. They were considerably cheaper than direct or with other third party companies and worked perfectly. Emails sent out instantly with tickets. Would recommend and use again no hesitation.

Is Undercover Tourist legit? – Finding Reliable Ticket Deals

entrance to Magic Kingdom

Are you looking for Undercover Tourist reviews for your next family trip? Maybe you’re considering purchasing theme park tickets or a hotel stay through Undercover Tourist, but you’re wondering if the prices are too good to be true. Rest assured that Undercover Tourist is a trusted company used by tons of families each year, including my own family.

They offer amazing customer service and great deals on everything you need for your next vacation. So, if you are searching for a way to save money on theme park tickets, then Undercover Tourist is the place to go! My family and I have used this reputable company on multiple Disney trips as they offer deep discounts on tickets to theme parks in both California and Florida.

You can use Undercover Tourist to purchase tickets for parks like Disney World, Universal, Disneyland, Sea World, and Lego Land. They also offer great deals on hotel room prices (including Walt Disney World resort hotels) and on rental cars. To make planning your family vacation easier, Undercover Tourist even provides special features like Disney World crowd calendars along with other helpful online tools.

So, if you’re considering using this super helpful website for your next trip, continue reading our full Undercover Tourist review below. We will discuss just how easy it is to use Undercover Tourist to help plan your next theme park vacation AND get a great deal on tickets!

How It Works

Before planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World (or other theme parks), you may be wondering if you can get a discount on the official (aka pricey) ticket prices. Over the years, I have found the Undercover Tourist website to be the easiest way to score the best deals on park tickets. It’s my family’s go-to website for planning any Disney World vacation because it helps make trip planning a breeze.

Cinderella's castle at Walt Disney World

No matter what you’re needing for your trip, Undercover Tourist will have a great deal to help make your trip a little more budget friendly. They offer the best deals on tickets to SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios, and other theme parks and attractions. You can even score big ticket discounts on Walt Disney World park tickets, including park hopper tickets, sports tickets, and water park ticket options.

As you shop on the official Undercover Tourist website, you will notice that these discounts get bigger and bigger with the number of days you add on to your ticket package. In other words, you won’t see a huge price difference in Disney tickets if you are just purchasing one day passes. However, you will find deep discounts the more days you add on to your package. All in all, you can save over $80 per ticket at Walt Disney World, which really adds up if you are traveling with multiple family members!

Just use the ticket calendar to determine if the Disney park passes are available. If your desired dates and parks are available, follow the prompts to choose the ticket options you want. After purchasing your Disney park passes, you can easily link them in your My Disney Experience account . Once you link your discounted tickets, they’ll show up in your account just as if you had bought them from Disney’s official site. It’s that easy!

Why We Use Undercover Tourist

In addition to the incredible savings that Undercover Tourist provides, my family and I also use them for their customer service. Not only is Undercover Tourist a legit website, but they are also a trusted name in the theme park industry. Did you know that the Undercover Tourist brand is officially an authorized Walt Disney World ticket seller ?

Disney's Animal Kingdom Tree of Life

This means they are recognized for their honest dependability. When going through wholesale ticket providers for the first time, it can sometimes feel intimidating. But, Undercover Tourist is a discount ticket seller that provides real tickets with no hidden fees. Plus, shipping and tax are included in the price you pay.

At the time of this post, Undercover Tourist is even offering a full refund policy for Disney World tickets! Since I personally do not have experience requesting a refund on tickets from Undercover Tourist, I cannot speak about this process. However, my family and I did have to cancel hotel reservations with Undercover Tourist a few trips ago.

The process of requesting a refund was so easy, and they provided great customer service. I just called the Undercover Tourist contact number and immediately spoke with a customer service agent who handled my cancellation. During the phone call, I spoke with a super friendly and knowledgeable representative without having to wait through the automated calling you so often have to sit through when contacting companies.

Booking Hotels through Undercover Tourist

Undercover Tourist has many different tools and features that make it easy to plan your next Disney trip. This website can be very helpful when trying to save money on tickets, car rentals, and hotel rooms. If you are planning a hotel stay at Disney, we recommend comparing the prices on the official WDW website with those on the Undercover Tourist site.

monorail at Disney World

Although Undercover Tourist does not always have the cheaper rate, they often do! Plus, you can sometimes find availability for rooms you want that are sold out on the official Disney website. We always make sure to price out the rooms on both websites before booking since you can often save money going through Undercover Tourist.

On a side note, if you’re looking to stay at a deluxe hotel, we recommend looking into renting DVC points first. This is often the way to save the most money on a hotel room at Disney. However, if you aren’t able to secure a DVC room OR if you’re looking for a value/moderate resort, Undercover Tourist is often the way to go!

Final Review of Undercover Tourist

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can often feel daunting and expensive. But, with all of the amazing resources and discounts available through Undercover Tourist, there is no need to worry. You can snag some awesome deals on WDW tickets, hotels, AND car rentals all while keeping peace of mind in knowing that you are using a legitimate authorized Disney ticket seller.

Honest Review of Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Hi Shari! I am thinking of using Undercover Tourist for our next Disney vacation. Do they mail you a physical ticket? If the ticket is emailed, how do you use it to enter the parks? Do you have to print it out or do you go somewhere at Disney to convert the printed page to an actual ticket? Just wondering about the logistics now that you need a reservation for the parks…Thanks for the help!

Thanks so much for reaching out. I believe that Undercover Tourist will mail you physical tickets if you want them, but I usually choose the email option. Either way, your physical or digital tickets will have a code on them. You just log into your WDW account and link the Undercover Tourist tickets using the code. This is a similar process to reserving a Disney hotel through Undercover Tourist. They will give you a confirmation number/code that you type into your Disney account, and it links your reservation.

Once you are at Disney, your linked tickets and reservations are connected to your Magic Bands and the My Disney Experience App. So, to enter a theme park, you will swipe your Magic Band or the Disney App to get in.

Just make sure that you make your park reservation after you link your Undercover Tourist tickets into your Disney account. I hope I explained that okay. It’s actually REALLY easy to do. When you log into your Disney account, it basically prompts you each step of the way. Hope you have a great time at Disney!!

I made a mistake in our hotel dates - needed to add a day - which I realized immediately and contacted them. They said they have to cancel the reservation. I’d make a new one, but not until I’m sure I’m getting my refund for the first one … I gave them 2 because the customer service is slow.

Date of experience : 26 July 2022

We use them all the time. No issues

We use them all the time. I find they are the cheapest and you are able to refund them if your plans change at no extra cost which is an added bonus

My goodness, Undercover Tourist has started selling 1 day tickets, that’s new. They are perfectly fine and safe to use.

Thanks all! I compared them to the dates.

Undercover Tourist does offer the current special for children

They do Sophie but they still cost slightly more.

I highly recommend Undercover Tourist!

They used to have a no refund policy. I bought tickets from them right before the pandemic hit. The parks closed, our trip was cancelled, and they gave us several options of what to do with our tickets. Even though the tickets were supposed to be non-refundable, they refunded them to us.

Nowadays, they have a great refund policy… so if something happens and you have to cancel, no problems with losing out on a bunch of money.

App Review: Undercover Tourist

reviews for undercover tourist

The app is really designed for you to use in the parks.  Each attraction is listed with current wait times updated by other users in the parks.  The rides and shows are described in detail with tips and age recommendations.  Height requirements are also listed for rides where that could be a factor.  This is a great help so you can avoid disappointment of a child.

Another useful feature is the restaurant listings.  These listings include price guides and a star rating system.  I do like the fact that it includes a full description of each eatery with menu’s and dish descriptions.    Along with the restaurant sections, is the ability to input your Disney ADR’s (Advanced Dinning Reservations) and set reminders from 5 min to 2 hour’s out so you will not miss a reservation.

Undercover Tourist also uses your location information to give you distances from where you are to all of the attractions.  This will be useful in planning travel time.   For instance, if you are Liberty Square at 1:00pm and you have a FastPass for Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrow Land for 2:00 to 2:20pm you can judge when you need to leave based on the speed your family or group can travel.

Also included is a system for tracking you tickets and planning your visit.  The planning feature of the app includes a crowd forecast for each park for each day.  It uses a simple green, yellow, red systems to show what the crowds are projected to be like on that day.  Green being light crowds red being very crowed.  The planner also lets you input your favorite attractions and restaurants and help you build a tour plan so you get the most out of you time in the parks.

Undercover Tourist does ask that as you go through the parks you submit wait time for the attractions to their database.  This crowed sourced data collecting helps make the crowed predictors and listed wait times more accurate and more useful for everyone.

All in all I think Undercover Tourist is on to something here.  I know of other services that offer paper touring plans and all to help you navigate the Disney Parks but as far as I know this is the only electronic solution.  I look forward to using it when I get to make my postponed trip to the World next summer.

I came to write another negative review…

Just not worth the hassle for the…

Accidentally duplicate booked a visit to seaworld. Problem solved with ease in a few minutes using customer service. Would recommend purely on the friendly helpful service if anything was to go wrong whilst booking.

Don't buy the upgrade

I bought the regular sized drink and popcorn voucher for AMC. Upon applying the vouchers towards the upgrade to Large had me realize I actually spent $9+ more than had I not bothered. It does save you approximately $2 to buy the voucher specifically towards regular but don't bother with the upgrade.

Bought universal tickets for Hollywood

Bought universal tickets for Hollywood. They were considerably cheaper than direct or with other third party companies and worked perfectly. Emails sent out instantly with tickets. Would recommend and use again no hesitation.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets on the cheap. It also acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals, but only in select cities. It's a great site to use to save some money on theme park tickets, but the savings on hotels and cars aren't as consistent.
