Garden Route & Addo Group Adventure - 6 Days

Outstanding overall experience. We saw and did a huge amount in a short time, the accommodation and food was terrific value and Mark did an outstanding job of keeping us all on track. On the minus side, it's a lot of time spent in a very cramped van.

5-Day Group Garden Route & Addo Adventure Tour (one-way)

You never know who you're going to get on your tour! We had a few hiccups with one terrible guest but overall dynamics with the rest of the gang was phenomenal and our guide, Gareth's humor and professionalism definitely helped smooth things over. The lodges/hostels we stayed at were great offering us every night a different local meal. I definitely recommend this tour!

Explore Cape Town & Kruger National Park National Geographic Journeys

This tour was one of the greatest travel experiences I've ever had. Our CEO Alfred Dovey led the way throughout South Africa with such care and knowledge about everything we did while providing clear direction of what each plan of the day was and where we needed to be. I feel was was able to see, learn and experience South Africa in a way I could have never done on my own. I highly recommend this G Adventure tour.

Kruger in Depth

The tour, operated by G Adventures, completed surpassed expectations by our party of three, with our total tour group minus the guide and driver numbering eleven. Transportation, accommodations, and meals were all above expectations. The guide "Hardy", and driver "Bennet" deserve special acknowledgement for an outstanding job with timely information, excellent communication skills, and knowledge that well exceeded any reasonable expectations. The tour involves a lot of travel due to the sheer size of the area being covered and is probably noy the best choice for a "downtime" or just relaxing trip. The ages in our party were 26, 58, and 63 and the tour was an excellent choice for us. Plan on meeting for breakfast around 5:30 am and dinner around 6:30 pm we a whole lot of experiences between the two. We combined this tour on our first week in South Africa with two down days in Jo-burg, and then a week of plains game hunting the following week. We are all a bit worn down but with memories, photos, and experiences that will last a lifetime.

This was by far the most amazing tour I have ever done! Gehrald, JP, and TK were so friendly, organized, and accommodating. This was an action packed itinerary and the guides made it an overly amazing experience! 5 stars, 10 if I could!

Kruger Experience - Lodge (5 days)

The lodge(Bundox) was fantastic! Great staff, nice glamping type accomadations(plus an amazing partly outdoor shower), bug spray in all rooms, and delicious food when eating at the restaurant. The pre-packed meals for the safari day were okay.... After waking up at 5am, they did not serve us breakfast until 10am, and by then I was starvvving! I also take medicine in the morning so an earlier breakfast would have been appreciated. Luckily I packed snack but not everyone did. We waited about an hour before actually getting into Kruger Park and I would suggest to Intrepid to serve breakfast(even if it meant eating in the vehicle) during that waiting period. The guides were great though and a nice variety of tours were included. The reason I did not give this tour a higher rating is the communication prior to departure was poor. We had no idea where we were staying and many things listed under items to pack(Things like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bug spray, lotion, etc were all provided. I also would have appreciated being given the adaptor types as I had to pack four just in case) were not needed because of this. Apparently they recently changed to a different lodge but I would still like to be given an idea of where I am staying. Also, no communicatiom before being picked up at the hotel so you wait and hope you will be picked up. Otherwise, great tour! Perfect amount of time as well.

5 day Best of South Africa Highlights: Garden Route with Addo National Park

Isac, the driver /guide was really excellent and went out of his way to make things pleasurable for us. We thourally enjoyed all the possible options. One small remark is that on the last day, arriving back in Cape Town, there was no final group goodbye, people being dropped off at their various addresses as we entered the city.

South African Escape

South Africa was amazing. Our tour guide, Matt, was wonderful. Organised, friendly and very knowledgeable. The highlight was definitely Kruger National Park and the safari tours. With so many stops we got to see many different areas. We loved it so much we were planning on going back in 2020. When travel resumes we will be back to see more.

Tour was awesome. Zayed was absolutely the best guide, he was very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Kruger & Cape Town Short Break by Plane

We had an amazing holiday we were always picked up on time and the staff were always helpful. Met some lovely travellers. The accommodation in Capetown was dreadful even though staff lovely. Our hotel was changed from the one we booked for and our guides agreed the Hotel cape Milner was the best and as I booked a long time ago I don’t understand why we were moved. We were only offered a small room no balcony overlooking a building site we then had to pay ourselves to upgrade. This hotel is catered for business clients the restaurant looks onto shipping crates we also realised after 3 days that we were only booked in for 4 nights not 5 but we rang rep who sorted it out . Even thouythe staff helped us out it did spoil the Capetown visit .

The Garden Route 10 Days

Beyond expectations. Tour was flawless from the airport connections to the backpackers lodges. Our guide Wendy with earthstompers was superb. Mariska was extremely helpful with tourradar and Nicolene was equally as well with travel encounters. They arranged our side trips for shark cage diving and skydiving as well without having any issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this your to anyone. This trip to South Africa was a trip of a lifetime.

London Marathon runner completes race after tasting 25 glasses of wine

A London Marathon runner tasted a different glass of wine each mile of the race.

Tom Gilbey, who is a professional wine seller, drank 25 glasses of wine during the 26.2-mile route, while also trying to guess the country of origin, producer and year.

He was able to guess seven wines perfectly, and on 14 occasions he was partially correct.

Despite stopping to sample the wine at every mile, he still completed the race in less than five hours.

Mr Gilbey was raising money for the Sobell House Hospice Charity in Oxfordshire, where his mother Caroline was nursed during her last days.
