Sharing a love for dance that lasts generation after generation

We have been working hard to be able to bring you another safe and exciting dance season.

As we celebrate our 57th year of dance we know things could look a bit different but we will do everything in our power to bring you a safe home for your dancer to excel. We truly believe that dancing is good for both the body and the mind. It's brought me so much joy to hear the love and laughter in the studio again.

It's important, especially as we emerge through these difficult times, for our children to have an opportunity to exercise, socialize and engage in a safe and healthy way.

The connections we form through dance along with the healthy exercise habits we establish often last a lifetime.

Arabesque will be offering in person classes at this time.  In studio class space will be limited so early registration is suggested. We are hoping with all the improving health metrics and children’s vaccinations life at the studio will return to normal very soon.

We know that the world is ever changing at this time and we will be ready to adapt to the challenges and keep your dancer engaged and learning. There may be times when we have to change our health protocols but rest assured, we are prepared to make this a wonderful year for our dancers.

STUDIO INFORMATION

Arabesque specializes in leading your dancer through the magical world of dance starting from their preschool years and throughout their lifetime. It has been so wonderful watching our dancers grow into wonderful dancers, teachers and welcoming their children into our Arabesque family generation after generation. Arabesque offers combination classes in Ballet & Tap for our younger students and Ballet, Tap & Jazz for our older students which allows our students to experience a well rounded program at affordable prices. Our well rounded dancers excel in dance and in their other activities.

In addition to our combination classes, we offer additional classes in Hip Hop, Lyrical, Tap and Jazz, a well established Ballet Program, an Award Winning Competition Program and a Dance Company who perform The Nutcracker Ballet.

Our well trained, experienced faculty are here to help your dancer reach their goals. We understand that all children are different and have different dreams and are happy to accommodate all of them. If you would like a fun program once a week or a serious program for an advanced dancer, we can make it happen. If you ever have any questions about your child's schedule, please give us a call or email us at  [email protected]  and we will be happy to talk with you.

Our studio has state of the art sprung floors which makes dancing less stressful on our student’s bodies. We have 3 large dance rooms, 1 smaller dance area and a large waiting room with one way glass where parents can view their child's class. We hope to reopen our waiting room in the fall.

All class instruction will assure proper progression for your child in a continuous planned program from September thru the middle of June. Unlike some programs that run a few weeks at a time, our continuous program assures that we won't have to start over every few weeks.

All class sizes are limited to assure a proper student-teacher ratio.

We hold our annual recital in the spring is a culmination of the year’s work. It gives our students a goal and a chance to perform before an appreciative audience. Special costumes are purchased for the show. Payments for costumes will be due in December. We plan on holding our recital on Memorial Day Weekend with dress rehearsal the week of so save the date now.

Our 2023 Nutcracker will be December 9 & 10.

Safety First

Arabesque will be meeting or exceeding all CDC and Dance USA guidelines. These requirements will be changing as we go and we will continue to create a safe and healthy environment for your dancer.

We will continue to clean frequently.

We have added air purifiers with hospital grade filters to each studio.

Masks may be required at times if needed.

Dancers are asked to bring their own water bottle and will have access to our bottle filler when needed..

Dancers will be asked to join us virtually if they have any Covid-19 or flu like symptoms or if they have had a positive Covid-19 test .Please notify the studio if a dancer has had a positive Covid-19 test.

If you have questions about our safety protocol or would like to come by and see how we have the studio set up please shoot us an email and we will be happy to set something up.

Trial Classes

Dance & Fitness

Dance trial classes play a pivotal role in helping individuals explore and connect with the art of movement. They offer a firsthand experience, allowing participants to feel the rhythm, understand the style, and gauge their interest and comfort levels. These trial classes serve as an introduction, providing a glimpse into the techniques, atmosphere, and teaching style of the studio. They empower individuals to make informed decisions about their dance journey, ensuring a better fit between their aspirations and the class offerings. Additionally, dance trial classes create a welcoming space for newcomers, fostering a sense of inclusion and encouraging them to embark on a transformative and joyful path through dance.

How to Schedule a Trial Class with ADFS:

Thank you for your interest in dance classes at ADFS! We look forward to helping you find the best fit for your dancer. We always offer a complimentary trial class for your dancer to experience our classes and assess their appropriate level. Each class description includes the recommended ages for our programs. We are happy to make suggestions and recommendations to help get you started. Follow the steps below to help us schedule your dancer’s trial class.

  •  Select the “Resources” tab in the top right corner of our website.
  •  Select “Parent Portal” and create a DanceStudio-Pro (DSP) account with your contact information and your dancer’s name and age.
  • Once logged into your Parent Portal, select the “Register for classes” icon.
  • Choose the season you are interested in and review the classes available based on your dancer’s age.
  • Select “Schedule Trial” and the date you would like to trial.
  • Select “Submit” and then “CHECKOUT” to confirm your trial class. No fees apply for your trial class. Contact [email protected] for assistance.

What to expect from your dancer’s trial class?

Does your child constantly move to music? Do they love to dance around the living room? Do they always “Dance like no one’s watching?”

You have come to the right place! We are eager to help your dancer enhance their skills, learn dance technique, and have FUN! While it seems like a dance class would be great fun, it can sometimes be overwhelming especially to a new or young dancer. Here are some key points that we look for to determine if your dancer is ready.

  • The dancer enters the classroom at their own free will. While it can sometimes take encouragement, we want the child to feel comfortable.
  • The dancer follows simple instructions about where and how to stand in the classroom.
  • The dancer makes eye contact with the teacher and other students.
  • The dancer stays in the classroom for the duration of the class.
  • The dancer is happy and excited to come back.

These are all great signs that your dancer is READY for dance classes. Please note, that participation is NOT always a key factor for knowing if a child is ready or if they are learning. Most young children learn more by watching than by doing, initially. Their brains are like sponges absorbing the experiences around them. The initial over-stimulation might trigger your dancer to simply watch and follow only the most direct cues. Do not fear! Most dancers that experience this go home and will replay the whole class for your enjoyment! This might continue to happen for the first few weeks as the dancer develops multitasking techniques, but full participation is expected with the consistency of attending class. Following your trial class, your ADFS Instructor will also provide feedback, if available.
